The new Gravel Adventure Field Guides highlight routes, regional history, and more, featuring three fresh U.S. destinations for 2022. Find details about the project and how to win a $1,500 travel reward here…

Building on the Trinidad-Las Animas County Gravel Adventure Field Guide they released last year, Gravel Adventure Field Guides is now a media company with a mission to “highlight and reinforce grassroots gravel cycling across the U.S.”

They are kickstarting 2022 with news that Patagonia, Arizona; Bend, Oregon; and Pueblo, Colorado will be featured in their own art-inspired pocket cycling guidebooks in 2022. Each guide book is small enough to fit in a jersey pocket and includes route maps, original illustrations and stories, historical vignettes and profiles of local attractions, and exclusive offers from local businesses and regional partners.

As part of the launch, Gravel Adventure Field Guide is excited to present the Explore Trinidad Gravel travel sweepstakes contest. Adric at Target Field. April 12, 2022.

[Author’s Note: usually the song with each entry has some tie to the region, honestly, I remember driving to the Wisconsin border while listening to Gordon Lightfoot.]

So you’ve decided to heed the call to adventure . Good for you. If you need to refer back to what the Guide actually is or who I actually am, please refer to the included links.

The best customer service in the Major Leagues

Introduction.

The Guide has the following to say about going to a game at Target Field:

It’s nice. Too nice. Is this ballpark is what baseball heaven is like? Oh wait, the weather has just turned and now I am physically miserable.

Target Field is good — really good , when the weather cooperates. When the weather does not cooperate, you will long for the comforts of a dome.

Going to a game at Target Field should not work. Located in central Minnesota, Target Field is one of the most northern stadiums in North America, with only Seattle being more north. The stadium is on a tiny plot of land in a downtown city in the upper Midwest.

If you overthink it, you can dwell on every feature at Target Field and how it should not work. And yet, in the heart of Minneapolis, you have a stadium that is more than the sum of its parts. You have an experience that every Dodgers fan should experience every two years while visiting the home of the Minnesota Twins .

Like its divisional cousin in Kansas City , if you are going to watch a ballgame, and the weather cooperates, which is a mighty big if, you should have a nice time. The following is all you will need to know about going to a Dodgers/Twins game at Target Field.

The Five Questions of the Guide:

1. is it worth going here, yes, it would be best if you considered going here every two years..

Target Field. April 13, 2022.

Enjoying a game at Target Field involves answering two questions, one of which you will not have any control over whatsoever.

  • Will the weather cooperate?
  • Like in nearby Milwaukee , are you willing to get what you pay for?

It is pretty simple: in the upper Midwest, sometimes you are forced to play weather roulette. If the weather cooperates, your game will likely be perfect, with the right balance of temperature and humidity.

But if you lose weather roulette? Remember, this stadium has no dome. If you barely lose weather roulette, it will just be hot and muggy — typical Midwestern stuff. But if you truly lose weather roulette, depending on the time of year, prepare for freezing rain or snow.

That scenario is exactly what happened to me in April 2022. The first time I ever left a Dodger game early was April 12, 2022, when the rains outlasted the last train back to my hotel.

For the first-timer at Target Field, you can go to Guest Services and request your own First Game Certificate, as previously discussed , Moreover, if you forget or if yours is damaged, you can request a replacement from Customer Service, as you can see below.

Replacement first game certificate.

What I cannot overemphasize enough is the quality of the customer service at this ballpark. I signed up for the MVP Tour, which was marketed as being VIP and exclusive for $100. When I was late due to my Uber driver somehow being lost in the adjacent parking garage, Twins’ customer service reached out to me by cell and gave step-by-step instructions for the driver, then had someone meet me at another gate so that I could join the tour group.

But I’m not done! Then, when inclement weather forced an early end to the tour, the Twins’ tour leader gave each of us roughly $50-60 worth of Twins’ swag. I ended up giving most of it away because you know, I’m a Dodger fan, but I deeply appreciated the gesture.

And I’m still not done — two weeks after I got home, I got a thank you card for visiting Target Field, which I still have to this day.

Thank you note. Target Field.

When I rave about the customer service at this ballpark, I mean it. The only note I have is to not bring a tripod or a selfie stick to the ballpark. The ushers had a particularly aggressive response to protecting the intellectual property of baseball. So as long as you do not commit that faux pas, you should encounter what I consider the best customer service in baseball.

2. How should I get there?

From outside Truly on Deck. Target Field. April 12, 2022.

Unless you lived nearby, I could hardly expect anyone to do anything but fly to Minneapolis. Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is a Delta Airlines hub, so getting to Minneapolis is fairly easy. Plus Minneapolis is serviced by Sun Country Airlines, which is basically a better version of Frontier Airlines.

One has multiple options to get to Target Field. If one picks a hotel close enough to the ballpark, one can just walk to the ballpark as the stadium is an urbanized area. For one game, I took a rideshare to get to the ballpark, and for the other, I used the light rail system to get to and from the ballpark.

Personally, I find the area around Target Field to be a bit maze-like, and some extra signage and lighting is needed to find the light rail station, especially in inclement weather. I found that rideshare was hit and miss as to getting and from the ballpark as the drivers I found did not know the area very well. Personally, it takes a special talent to get lost in a parking garage that is literally attached to the stadium.

It looks as if there is more mass transit servicing Target Field than when I last visited. Considering the urban nature of the area by the ballpark, I would not advise renting a car and parking at the ballpark unless one was a local. While there are 7000 parking spaces in the adjacent garage and about 25000 parking spaces in downtown , one getting to the game by car will need to use SpotHero find parking near the venue. Thankfully, the prices appear to be reasonable if one is willing to walk the rest of the way.

The downside to taking the light rail is eventually it will stop running for the night, so plan accordingly. If you pick a nearby hotel, this issue will likely be a minor one. However, if one picked a hotel that is further away, which is a perfect segue to the next question.

3. Where should I stay?

Now, as we have established most Dodger fans coming into Minneapolis are likely out-of-towners, most fans who use this Guide entry will likely be flying into MSP. As such, most visitors to Target Field will likely not have a car. There are quite a few hotels in the vicinity of Target Field, and most of them are in downtown, relatively close to Target Field.

Map of hotel options near Target Field.

You might be tempted to try to save some money by being farther away from the ballpark. After all, the light rail extends to MSP and has a stop at the nearby Mall of America. I made this mistake and I would recommend that one does as I suggest, rather than what I did. If I had to do it over again, I would have just paid a bit extra for a nearby hotel rather than try to refine some so-called inefficiency by trying to be the Mall of America and MSP.

The locals recommended the Best Western Plus The Normandy.

After speaking to a few sources in Twins Twitter, they recommended hotels including the Best Western Plus The Normandy, as it is an excellent combination of both price and proximity to the light rail. One could technically walk three-quarters of a mile to Target Field, but I would just walk a couple of blocks to the station, buy an all-day pass, and not worry too hard about getting to and from the stadium.

4. Where should I sit?

Budweiser Roof Deck. Target Field. April 12, 2022.

Normally, I give you a range of options for where to sit for a road Dodgers game. However, this time, the seating recommendations are fairly simple. Ticket prices at Target Field are extremely reasonable for the venue’s beauty. Like seeing a Pittsburgh Pirates game in Pittsburgh, the ticket prices are far more reasonable than at Dodger Stadium.

The design firm, Populous, designed PNC Park , Target Field, Oracle Park, and Oriole Park at Camden Yards, among others. If you have been to PNC Park, you can see the influences at Target Field.

Again, the main difference is the weather. Warm rain in Pittsburgh is no big deal. Cold or freezing rain is a much different story. As such, there is only one place where I would recommend sitting regardless of the weather. Otherwise, feel free to sit wherever you like, just be mindful that seats behind home plate or the dugouts will cost you.

Delta Club/Thrivent Club seating. Target Field. April 13, 2022.

These seats were called Delta Club seating when I last went in 2022. Now these seats are called Thirvent Club seating. As you can see from the photo, you have a great view of the game but you also have access to the climate-controlled club area with indoor vendors and televisions to see the game, if the weather does not cooperate.

The highlighted seats are in green. Sections A-R. Target Field.

Here’s the kicker about these seats: you cannot buy single-game tickets in this section directly from the team as they are technically luxury seats. For these seats, you can get them on the secondary market, and on average are $50-100/ticket. All things considered, these seats are quite the bargain.

5. After your trip, is it worth going back?

  • Hey, that was fun! This trip needs to be a yearly event, if possible! (assuming the weather cooperates)

Before the rains. Target Field. April 12, 2022.

I attended two-ish games at Target Field in April 2022. The Dodgers won both as Kershaw flirted with perfection . Weather aside, I would go again. The only reason I pass on going is that there are other ballparks to visit and sometimes the charms of Minneapolis are best felt in months other than April.

Going to a game here is not a perfect experience, but it is damn good, assuming the weather cooperates. At its worst, going to Target Field is a bit like going to Target on a Sunday afternoon: you question your life choices while surrounded by the bourgeois. At its best, Target Field is at least in the conversation of upper-tier ballparks like PNC Park and Petco Park ,

Overall we enjoyed the whole trip a lot. Moscow is beautiful and clean. Thank you very much for your patience and excellent organization of this tour. Everything ran very smoothly and according to schedule. The guides met us on time at hotels or at our train carriage on arrival. They all spoke good English, had a good local knowledge and were very kind and helpful.

The tour lived up to all expectations

I’m most pleased with Travel All Russia in arranging our ‘Volga Dream’ Russia tour, I would recommend using your services again as every aspect of our tour went off without a hitch. The communication between our tour representative was excellent as we required additional days on both ends of our tour. The visa process and the logistics were flawlessly implemented.

Why travel to Moscow

Contrasts: 12th century monasteries and some of the tallest skyscrapers in Europe can be found side-by-side in this complex and captivating city. The diversity of this mega-city is astounding. Only a few steps away from the solemn red facade of the Kremlin and the sounds of righteous church bells, a buzzing night scene and alternative-fashion boutiques can be found.

Culture: In Moscow only the best goes. Be it a theatre, restaurant or gallery, the standards are certain to be world-class. The Bolshoi ballet company is reputed to be even better than the Mariinsky’s and “MMOMA” (Moscow’s museum of modern art) exhibits works of art as profound as any that could be found in the famed MOMA.

Convenience: Unlike the rest of Russia, it’s easy enough to get by with just English in Moscow and, driving excepted, it is surprisingly safe: the murder rate is lower than in some of America’s major cities.

Why visit Moscow

It would take more than two days to walk around the perimeter of the biggest city in Europe, Moscow. Many of its inhabitants barely know what’s beyond the few blocks around their flat and there are so many attractions that it’s almost impossible to know where to start. If there is such a thing as an antidote to boredom, Moscow City is it. The mind-boggling range and diversity of things to do, places to eat, parks, historical monuments and more means that a vacation in Moscow has a wealth of activities to offer for every type of traveler, from young families to retirees.

Reasons to Vacation in Moscow in 2022

The Bolshoi theatre is familiar to almost everyone as Russia’s grandest theatre, but what people don’t know is that there are many more bolshoi (big) sites in Moscow that are worth travelling all the way to Moscow to see. For more than 100 years, the world’s biggest bell has been hidden behind the Kremlin’s walls and inside Moscow’s main park (which is bigger than some countries!) there is the world’s largest outdoor ice-rink. Travelers that visit Moscow can stay at the Izmailovo, Europe’s biggest hotel, then eat at the largest and most historic McDonald’s in Europe and after that have fun at the largest European indoor theme park!

Ancient Past & Stunning Architecture:

As those who travel to Moscow will see, just because Moscow is a city of record-breaking, glitzy high-rises doesn’t mean that there is no history. On the famous Arbat street, time-worn, wooden storehouses and century-old churches are squashed up against grey, soviet blocks which are then towered over by 21st century office-blocks. Unlike its much younger sibling, St Petersburg, Moscow’s roots stretch way back to the 12th century. Within the walls of the Kremlin, the city’s oldest building the Cathedral of Assumption can be admired in all its 500+ years of age.

Culture & Convenience

For a foreigner who has never visited Russia, Moscow is the perfect stepping stone into this great land of mystery. From the country’s best classical ballet troupes to snow-white troikas trotting through the parks, all the highlights of Russian culture can be had in Moscow without any of the complications that would be expected in other, less developed regions of Russia.

Cheap as Caviar

In Moscow, everything is bargain when with the current foreign exchange rates being what they are. Even caviar doesn’t seem so dear when the exchange rate is at 60rub to the dollar, so go on indulge yourself! Take your 2022 vacation in Moscow and have the best of both worlds, with European luxury at very affordable prices.

field guides 2022 trips

Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

We had a great time both in Moscow and St Petersburg. Your travel agency was excellent in coordinating the whole trip. Everything worked like clockwork. The guides assigned to us were very nice and friendly. They had a great knowledge of their subjects. The cars and the drivers were great. The hotels were good and the itinerary was good. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. It was nice dealing with you and your company. Thank you very much for a great Russian experience. Have a great future ahead

The total solar eclipse 2024 is happening today! Here's what you need to know

Millions are ready to watch  —  are you?

It's the day we've all been waiting for! Total solar eclipse 2024 is finally here. Today (April 8) a total solar eclipse will sweep across North America from Mexico, through 15 U.S. States and up through Canada. For viewers inside the path of totality, the moon will completely cover the sun, darkening the sky and revealing our star's hidden outer atmosphere.

You can keep up to date with the latest eclipse content on our eclipse live blog and watch all the total eclipse action unfold live here on Space.com courtesy of NASA. Our livestream coverage begins at 1 p.m. EDT (1700 GMT).

If you capture a great photo of the solar eclipse and would like to share it with us please email it to [email protected]

Every U.S. State will experience at least a partial solar eclipse today. If you want to check what time you'll be able to see the solar eclipse and find out what it may look like from your location check out this great interactive map from NASA .

A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly between the sun and Earth, casting a shadow on our planet. It appears almost exactly the same size as our sun and for those witnessing the event from the path of totality, it will completely cover the sun's visible disk.

Last minute preparations

If you haven't been able to get hold of a pair of eclipse glasses and are looking for an easy way to still view the solar eclipse safely we have a list of some alternative ways to view the eclipse with items from around the home .

Get the Space.com Newsletter

Breaking space news, the latest updates on rocket launches, skywatching events and more!

Remember NEVER look directly at the sun. To safely view all of this event, you must use solar glasses or filters. Only those in the path of totality will be able to remove them briefly to see the sun's corona with their naked eyes. Those not in the path of totality must keep them on the entire time.

Everyone observing the partial phases of this eclipse — and for those outside the path of totality, that's the entire event — will need to wear solar eclipse glasses while cameras, telescopes and binoculars will need solar filters placed in front of their lenses.

Our how to observe the sun safely guide tells you everything you need to know about safe solar observations.

Masters 2024 predictions, odds, top picks, props: Golf insider likes Sam Burns at Augusta National

Golf insider patrick mcdonald has revealed his 2024 masters picks, pga best bets and props for augusta national.

sam-burns.jpg

Entering the 2024 Masters, the last five winners of green jackets are Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, Hideki Matsuyama, Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm. Of that quintet, only Matsuyama (35-1) had Masters odds longer than 14-1 at the start of the tournament. While that shouldn't rule out any mid-to-long shots from your 2024 Masters bets, it does make those golfers who have shorter 2024 Masters odds more enticing. Just four players come in at under 14-1 ahead of the first round of the Masters 2024 beginning on Thursday from Augusta National Golf Club.

Scheffler (13-4) is the favorite, according to the latest 2024 Masters odds. Following him are Rory McIlroy (10-1), Brooks Koepka (11-1) and Rahm (12-1). If you don't mind taking chances on long shots with your 2024 Masters golf picks, then golfers priced at 35-1 this year include Tony Finau, Bryson DeChambeau and Brian Harman. Before locking in any 2024 Masters picks or golf predictions, you need to see what proven golf betting expert Patrick McDonald has to say , considering his recent track record.

McDonald joined CBS Sports as a golf writer in 2022 after stops at NBC Sports and RyderCup.com. Covering the sport from a broader perspective, McDonald still likes to dip his toes into the betting pools on a weekly basis between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and more. Featured weekly on the Early Wedge, he has given out numerous winners already in 2024, including Jake Knapp (50-1) at the Mexico Open.

Now, McDonald has focused his attention on the 2024 Masters field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. You can see only see them at SportsLine .

Top 2024 Masters expert picks

One stunning prediction from McDonald: He is high on Sam Burns, even though he is a 50-1 longshot. In just his second Masters appearance last year, Burns found himself trailing only five golfers after two rounds of play. However, a 78 in Round 3 knocked him out of contention, but he still shot par or better in three of the four rounds. Burns would finish up the 2022-23 PGA Tour season strongly, with top-15s in three of his last four events, and then picked up where he left off this season with top-10s in four of his first five tournaments.

Burns combines ability off the tee with a precise touch on the greens, making him the type of longshot who could rise up the 2024 Masters leaderboard. He ranks ninth on the PGA Tour in total driving and is also ninth in putting average. His in-between game has improved, as he's 35th in greens in regulation percentage this year after sitting 178th last season. Burns has collected five PGA Tour victories within the last three years, including at a signature event in 2023, so he's shown he can win against the toughest of fields and shouldn't be overlooked this week.  See who else to back here .

How to make 2024 Masters picks, bets

McDonald is also jumping on an underdog who's had plenty of success at Augusta National but is still listed at more than 100-1 to win it all.  You can only see his 2024 Masters picks at SportsLine .

So, which players should you target or avoid for the 2024 Masters, and which proven golfer in the Masters 2024 field could bring a monster payday of almost 100-1? Check out the odds below then visit SportsLine to see Patrick McDonald's top picks for the Masters 2024, all from the expert who has been red-hot on his PGA Tour picks this season  and find out.

How Beyond Xbox: Field Trips is Teaching Valuable Life Skills via Game Pass Favorites

Xbox has teamed up with Ukie’s Digital Schoolhouse to launch Beyond Xbox: Field Trips, a series of interactive learning experiences, available on Spotify , to help young people learn through play.

These experiences are set to be delivered as a series of podcasts, featuring seven Xbox Game Pass titles. Each audio journey will focus on a specific game, and the skills that are encouraged and honed while playing. The Field Trips aim to help young people sharpen thought processes, learn collaborative skills, and experience a sense of accomplishment in an immersive environment.

Xbox Wire had the opportunity to sit down with Ollie Bray, co-author of the European Games in Schools Handbook, who helped shape this project. With Bray, we found out how this the podcasts came to be, and what makes Xbox’s catalogue the perfect selection for skills-based learning.

Grounded Super Duper Update Hero Image

Bray has a background in teaching, and, like many academics, found himself frustrated by more traditional methods to get young people involved with classroom activities. The original thought process of how games can assist with this hurdle came from Sim City , which encourages its players to think about urban planning in an interesting way.

“The traditional ways that we do things are often really dull, but games and simulations offer personalised learning experiences,” Bray says. “When we’re thinking about ‘soft skills’, these game environments are a really good example of how to develop those.”

Beyond Xbox: Field Trips has a couple of main goals in mind, according to Bray. One is to showcase video games as tools that can generate powerful learning opportunities.

The other is to demonstrate how games do not have to have been made specifically for educational purposes to have educational benefits.

We had the chance to listen to the Sea of Thieves episode of Beyond Xbox: Field Trips ahead of its release, which focuses on encouraging teamwork and delegation – something that is already integral to Sea of Thieves ’ gameplay.

“There are aspects of the game where young people are picking up maps, which links to geography, how we learn about latitude and longitude, compass directions, map orientation, all sorts of skills,” Bray says.

“It’s the kind of hard learning you’d expect to get in a geography classroom, which is often reinforced by a textbook or video, but in this case, we’re reinforcing it through interactive gameplay, which gives young people motivation.”

On the campaign, Shahneila Saeed, Director of Digital Schoolhouse and Head of Education at Ukie added, “we’re very excited to be supporting such an original and unique program, using games to develop the skills of young people. I can’t wait to see how these audio learning journeys are implemented in our Digital Schoolhouse network over the coming months, and the impact that they will have.”

Sea of Thieves Season Eight

Each audio learning journey is available on Spotify , and prompts players to take part in a number of in-game tasks in order to develop important soft skills. All seven games are available via Xbox Game Pass , and can be seen below alongside the skills they encourage:

  • Grounded – Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking
  • Sea of Thieves – Teamwork and Delegation
  • Minecraft – Creativity and Innovation
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator – Focus and Diligence
  • PowerWash Simulator – Motivation and Prioritisation

Choosing Game Pass titles was another important element of Beyond Xbox: Field Trips. Bray shares that all of these games can be accessed with just one Game Pass membership.

“We wanted to include a number of different genres of game to be able to cater for different interests,” Bray explains. “You’ll find your classic sandbox game in there, Minecraft ; survival elements from Grounded ; and more surprising titles such as Powerwash Simulator , which is a difficult game to explain, but is hugely therapeutic to play.”

A final note that Bray touches on is how play is highly encouraged during early development, and again later in adult life, but there’s a middle point where leaning on resources like video games is underutilized. Bray adds, “this makes me wonder if we can rethink the approach to the middle part a little – games are a highly engaging learning environment.”

Beyond Xbox: Field Trips are now available via Spotify for players in the UK and Mexico. They can also be accessed as in more accessible formats as visual guides on Xbox.com to cater to different learning styles.

Tourists get more access to royal family residences with 'exclusive tours' of Buckingham Palace and Balmoral Castle

Rooms at Balmoral Castle and Buckingham Palace that were previously off limits will be opened to the public for the first time, giving visitors a sneak peek into royal life.

The royal residences were open to tourists before, but now visitors will be able to see even more of the historical locations and take "exclusive tours" with special guides.

However, it comes at a price.

Tickets for what's called "The Balmoral Experience" cost 100 pounds ($192).

Significant royal residences

Scotland's Balmoral Castle was thought to be Queen Elizabeth II's favourite residence, with the late monarch spending her final days there before her death in 2022.

It was something of a retreat for the late monarch, who spent almost every summer of her life at the estate.

"I suppose Balmoral is a place one looks forward to very much," she said in 1992.

"I think granny is the most happy here. I think she really, really loves the Highlands," her granddaughter, Princess Eugenie said in 2012.

Buckingham Palace is in central London and is an administrative hub for the royal family.

Its balcony is a centrepiece for mayor royal events, with the royals typically gathering there to wave to crowds below.

Balmoral interior opened for the first time

Before now, access to Balmoral Castle was pretty much restricted to the grounds and the ballroom.

But a series of limited tours will give visitors a more intimate look at Queen Elizabeth's summer home later this year.

Here's how the Balmoral website describes it :

"For the first time since the castle was completed in 1855, we have been granted permission to take you on a private tour with our experienced guides. "They will take you on a historical journey through several of the beautiful rooms within Balmoral Castle. "You will learn about the origins of the Castle and how it has been loved by generations of the Royal family. Travel through time from the purchase of the Balmoral by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, through to present day, where you can see how rooms within the castle are used today by their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of the royal family."

The tours are limited to 40 people per day and will only run in July and August.

Tickets cost 100 pounds, with an extra 50 pounds for afternoon tea.

Balmoral tickets sell out in a day

Within a day after local media reported the new tour, all tickets have sold out , according to the Balmoral Castle website.

On Wednesday, the website was briefly brought down by demand.

"As we are currently experiencing a high demand of bookings, you have been placed in a queue," the website read.

General admission tickets, which covers entry to the grounds, gardens, and exhibitions are still available.

The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and their four children pose for a holiday snap in 1972.

More access to Buckingham Palace

Before this announcement, the public could tour 19 state rooms at Buckingham Palace.

But the East Wing — a section of Buckingham Palace which includes the front facade and the famous balcony — has been off limits.

In July and August, "expert guides" will lead small tourist groups through the wing.

It will lead people to a room that leads onto the balcony, according to Royal Collections Trust website .

But it doesn't say if tourists will be able to go out on the balcony.

Adults will have to be pay an extra 75 pounds on top of the standard admission ticket to the state rooms — so it will cost at least 107 pounds.

There are limited tickets available for these tours, which haven't gone on sale yet.
