Although in some cases, the path seems a little obvious and straightforward, some courses are strategically designed to make it so that the shorter routes to take are the more challenging ones. With bunkers and water hazards littering some courses, as well as trees that may block an otherwise better direction, going for a more conservative approach and choosing to play safe should be your general strategy.

Before you proceed to go for a more aggressive path, make sure that you have mastered timing each shot as well as secure a firm grasp on the impact of winds based on their strength and direction as well as the relative angle of your shot. While the latter may prove to be the bigger challenge, the best way to get good at it is through practice.

2. Use Rythmic Counting To Get The Timing Right

One of the most basic things you need to master early on in Golf King – World Tour is timing the release of each shot. As such, make it a habit to stay conscious of the timer without even bothering to look at it at the top of the screen. Be conscious just enough to keep track of the remaining time while counting off to time your shot.

3. Don’t Use Too Much Power

The power of the shot and resulting distance the golf ball can travel to depend largely on how much power you invest on the shot. Although the initial shot from the teeing ground may preferably have as much power in it as possible, the same does not always hold true for most succeeding shots, especially in the greens. As every bit of pull you exert while holding down a shot can increase power, pulling it all the way will give an indication that you are using too much power. While seeing the “Over Power” indicator is a clear sign that you are pulling too hard, there will be numerous scenarios when using power well within what is acceptable can still be more than what is needed for you to get the results you want.

For beginners, it will not be as critically important across the fairway given that there are plenty of similarly favorable spots within the area you are targeting. Within the putting green, however, extra care must be observed with each stroke within the greens especially with chances of making a putt. Despite the holes in Golf King – World Tour being bigger than actual holes or virtual ones in other golf games, it is still possible to miss a putt due to excess power rolling the ball out and away from the hole.

4. Enhance Your Clubs As Soon As You Can

On top of coins and experience points you earn after each win as well as accomplishing quests, you can obtain various packs that contain different golf clubs. You can access the different clubs you have and upgrade them by tapping the golf bag icon at the left side of the screen. Once you have opened several packs, you will obtain extra copies of clubs. You can easily determine clubs that you can upgrade through notifications within the club page and beyond having enough extra copies of the clubs, you will also need coins to do an upgrade.

Upgrading increases the stats of the golf club, which is why it is best to upgrade them as soon as you have the needed resources to do so. 5. Complete Quests For Extra Rewards

Beyond the immediate rewards you earn after each match, there are extra quest points and club packs you can earn by accomplishing quests. You can tap on the tier banner at the upper right side of your screen to see your current tier as well as the rewards you can earn by progressing through to the succeeding tiers. Under the quest tab, there are simple objectives you can accomplish to earn the respective rewards.

For the most part, the objectives you need to meet fall well within the activities you do within any match. Given that there are no stamina limitations or similar game mechanics that delimit how much you can play, you can easily achieve all 4 daily quests after playing just a couple or more matches.

6. Watch Ads For More Coins And An Epic Pack

While you can expect that most, if not all, free-to-play games that do not mainly bank on in-app purchases rely on the existence of ads to keep the game running, Golf King – World Tour does not hamper gameplay in anyway with ads that pop up while you are playing.

There is also a set limit as to the number of video ads you can each day for extra rewards. This can be done through the “play button” icon at the lower left side of your screen. If you can, you should watch ads continuously until you get the top reward before you start playing. You can earn a lot of coins after watching through the initial ones and receive an elite pack after watching the last ad. As you may get some upgrade materials from it, it would be best to secure it first and upgrade clubs if possible before engaging in any match at the start of the day.

Sir Nick Faldo and Danny Willett find out what it is like to play golf with a visual impairment

Sir Nick Faldo and Danny Willett joined visually impaired golfers to learn how they overcome their disability to play the game.

In collaboration with England & Wales Blind Golf, the DP World Tour arranged for three players to display their talent in front of the two Major champions in advance of the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo at The Belfry. 

After introductions, the three participants – each representing a different category of visual impairment – hit tee shots at the par-three 14th on the Brabazon course.

Explaining the visual impairment categories 

-         This category encompasses nolight perception in either eye up to light perception, but inability to recognise shapes at any distance or in any direction.

B2 & B3

-         Both categories involve a low level of usable partial vision, those in the B3 category will be able to see more than those graded as B2. B3 is the highest category used for international & Paralympic sport.

The three participants were:

-          Steve Cunningham (no sight in either eye)

-          Danny Daniels (sight in one eye)

-          Mike Tomlinson (less than 10% of sight)

With all three players, they highlighted the role of their guides, without whom they would be unable to truly take pleasure in playing the sport.

Daniels won the British Blind Masters earlier this month at the age of 87, with his wife, Di, aiding his alignment and offering tactical advice.

All three struck impressive tee shots, before Masters winners Faldo and Willett used simulation glasses - which replicate the different visual impairments - to get a true idea of the challenges faced by players in blind golf.

While Faldo found the green with his tee shot, Willett shanked his effort, later saying the experience was "humbling".

Cunningham said: "It is a life-changing experience to be able to play golf.

"You know when you have hit a good shot. If you get the swing, right, the rhythm right... it is great. We can't do this without our guides."

Formed in 1989, the charity is open to men and women who are blind or visually impaired of all ages and abilities, whether a beginner or seasoned golfer.

MLB's travel plans for '24: Seoul, Mexico City, London, D.R.

The MLB World Tour is coming to four international destinations in 2024: London, Mexico City, Seoul and Santo Domingo. 

The Seoul Series will be the opener of the 2024 MLB regular season -- and will mark the first MLB regular-season games ever played in Korea. 

Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association announced the full plans for the four series on Wednesday.

• Seoul Series: Dodgers vs. Padres, March 20-21 (MLB season opener) • Mexico City Series: Astros vs. Rockies, April 27-28 • London Series: Mets vs. Phillies, June 8-9 • Dominican Republic Series: Red Sox vs. Rays, March 9-10 (Spring Training)

• MLB international

"Major League Baseball is incredibly excited for this extensive slate of international games in 2024," Commissioner Rob Manfred said. "Our recent efforts have produced strong enthusiasm around the globe, and we look forward to building on that foundation with returns to Mexico City and London, while also opening the season in Korea for the first time. In addition, we can’t wait to celebrate the tradition of the sport in the Dominican Republic with our visit to Santo Domingo next March. We are thrilled that our fans across four different countries outside the United States and Canada will have the opportunity to see the game’s stars."

The MLB World Tour schedule for next year includes the return of games to the United Kingdom and Mexico for a second consecutive season, after the 2023 London Series between the Cubs and Cardinals and Mexico City Series between the Giants and Padres, in addition to new stops in Korea and the Dominican Republic.

“Players have a deep interest in growing baseball around the world. No matter where they come from, players are linked by a passion for our game that transcends different languages, cultures, and nationalities,” said Tony Clark, the executive director of the MLB Players Association. “The series announced today will allow fans around the globe to gain a first-hand appreciation for the unmatched skill and infectious enthusiasm players display every time they go to work. We are excited to expand our international presence in new communities and celebrate the game we all love.”

Here's a look at each of the four international series in 2024.

Seoul Series

The Dodgers and Padres will open up the 2024 season with two games in Korea from March 20-21.  

The Seoul Series will mark the ninth time that the MLB season has opened outside the 50 U.S. states and Canada, and the first time in five years. Previous international openers include:

• 1999 -- Monterrey, Mexico (Rockies vs. Padres) • 2000 -- Tokyo, Japan (Mets vs. Cubs) • 2001 -- San Juan, Puerto Rico (Rangers vs. Blue Jays) • 2004 -- Tokyo, Japan (Rays vs. Yankees) • 2008 -- Tokyo, Japan (Red Sox vs. A's) • 2012 -- Tokyo, Japan (A's vs. Mariners) • 2014 -- Sydney, Australia (Dodgers vs. D-backs) • 2019 -- Tokyo, Japan (A's vs. Mariners)

It will be the Dodgers' first international games since they played the Padres in Mexico in 2018, and their second Opening Day abroad after the 2014 season opener in Australia.

"The Dodgers have a long and proud history of helping to grow the game abroad, highlighted by our trips to Mexico, China and Australia. It's very exciting to add Korea to the list," Dodgers president Stan Kasten said. "I know our players are thrilled to put their talents on display in a country so rich with baseball tradition and talent, including former Dodgers Chan Ho Park, Hee-Seop Choi and Hyun Jin Ryu."

The Padres will be playing internationally for a second straight season, but in a new country, going from the 2023 Mexico City Series to the 2024 Seoul Series. Like the Dodgers, they've also played abroad on Opening Day before, in the inaugural international season opener back in 1999. 

"Korea is a great baseball country with a rich tradition, passionate fans, and talented players, including current Padre and San Diego fan favorite Ha-Seong Kim," Padres CEO Erik Greupner said. "The Padres are proud to serve alongside the Dodgers as global ambassadors for the game of baseball with our historic 2024 Korea Series."

Mexico City Series

The second Mexico City Series will feature the Astros and Rockies for a pair of games on April 27 and 28, almost exactly a year after this season's inaugural Mexico City Series.

Both Houston and Colorado last played internationally in Mexico, but in Monterrey, not Mexico City. The Astros played two regular-season games against the Angels there in 2019, and the Rockies played an exhibition series against the D-backs that same year.  

The Astros have played exhibition games in Mexico City before, in 2016 against the Padres and 2004 against the Marlins.

London Series

The London Series returns for its third edition overall, with the Mets and Phillies facing off at London Stadium on June 8 and 9.

The Mets will be playing abroad for the first time since 2010, when they faced the Marlins in Puerto Rico. But they're no stranger to international games, having participated in both MLB's first-ever international regular season games in 1996 in Mexico and MLB's first-ever regular-season games in Japan in 2000.

"Interest in baseball is growing all over the world, and to bring the Mets' 'never-say-die' attitude to sports fans in London is a tremendous honor," Mets owner Steve Cohen said. "Our Queens family is ready to show London a great time with exciting baseball and amazing experiences that create new fans and build the Mets community throughout the United Kingdom." 

The Phillies have never played regular-season games internationally, and have left the U.S. and Canada only once, over 50 years ago, for a pair of exhibition games against the Pirates in San Juan in 1977.

"Major League Baseball has done an excellent job of expanding its footprint internationally, and we are honored to play a role in that effort as part of the 2024 London Series," Phillies managing partner John Middleton said. "This will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase our players' talents and highlight the excitement that comes with a Phillies-Mets matchup for our fans in the UK and for those who have never attended a baseball game."

Dominican Republic Series

In addition to the three international regular-season series planned for in 2024, the Red Sox and Rays will play a Spring Training series in Santo Domingo at Estadio Quisqueya from March 9-10.

"This unique opportunity builds on our long-standing connection to the Dominican Republic and allows us to celebrate the remarkable talents and rich cultural heritage of a country whose passion for the game has distinctly shaped our organization," Red Sox president Sam Kennedy said. "From the players who have passed through our Dominican Republic Academy to those who have helped us win championships, we have been fortunate to witness the profound impact of Dominican players within our game, and we are thrilled to be able to bring Red Sox baseball to such a vibrant baseball community next year."

Exhibition games are also a key part of the MLB World Tour, which includes up to 16 exhibition games being played internationally between 2023 and ‘26, as well as up to 24 regular-season games spanning Asia, Europe and Latin America.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Close to 80,000 fans are expected to pack Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs play the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of the AFC championship game Thursday night, lifting the lid on the NFL season.

Many will be watching for Taylor Swift to appear in one of the stadium suites, too.

The pop superstar became one of the Chiefs’ biggest fans last season, when she began a high-profile romance with tight end Travis Kelce. He had failed in an attempt to deliver a friendship bracelet at one of her concerts, so Kelce took to social media to invite Swift to a game, and the “Anti-Hero” singer showed up for a September matchup with the Bears.

They continued to see each other throughout the season, whenever Swift was on break from her Eras Tour. The 14-time Grammy winner even made a much-publicized sprint from a stadium show in Japan to Las Vegas in time for the Super Bowl, where she partied with friends such as Blake Lively, enjoyed Post Malone’s performance of “America the Beautiful,” won what appeared to be a beer chugging contest, and then celebrated the Chiefs’ triumph by locking lips with Kelce on the field.

Along the way, Swift became close friends with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany.

During this past offseason, Kelce frequently dropped in on the Eras Tour, even making an on-stage cameo. Swift later said in a social media post she was still “cracking up/swooning over (Kelce’s) Eras Tour debut” before 90,000 screaming fans at Wembley Stadium in London, and that “she was never going to forget these shows.”

Indeed, it has been a busy offseason for both of the superstars.

Swift recently concluded the European leg of the Eras Tour with five consecutive shows at Wembley Stadium, and she is on break until October, when she begins the North American leg with stops across the U.S. and Canada stretching into December.

Kelce and his brother, retired Eagles center Jason Kelce, recently struck a deal reportedly worth nine figures to take their “New Heights” podcast to Amazon’s Wondery. He is due to appear in Ryan Murphy’s murder mystery “Grotesquerie” on FX debuting Sept. 25, and he is hosting “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity” on Prime Video premiering Oct. 16.

Then there’s the fact that the Chiefs, who have won two straight Super Bowls and three in the past five years, are chasing some history beginning Thursday night. No team has ever won the Lombardi Trophy three consecutive times.

Kelce was asked this week how he juggles everything, and he pointed to the Chiefs practice facility — and Arrowhead Stadium, which sits just up the hill and across the parking lot — as his sanctuary, where he is surrounded by his closest friends.

“I just love football and how it takes me away from life,” he explained, “and it gives me something I can feel genuinely happy about. I enjoy coming into the building, working on my craft, getting to understand a new game plan and perfecting that for the people around me. It gives me a purpose to kind of go about my day and to live my life. I have so much excitement doing it.”

Not everything has been smooth for Swift and Kelce this offseason, though.

Last month, Swift canceled three sold-out shows in Vienna after the CIA discovered intelligence that led to multiple arrests of men linked to the Islamic State group. The agency’s deputy director, David Cohen, said “they were plotting to kill a huge number — tens of thousands of people at this concert, including I am sure many Americans — and were quite advanced in this.”

Then on Thursday, a spokesperson for Kelce denounced a document recently posted online that called into question the authenticity of their romance as “entirely false and fabricated.” The document, carrying the title “Comprehensive Media Plan For Travis Kelce’s Relations Following Breakup with Taylor Swift,” was posted on Reddit but has since been deleted.

It was posted about the same time that Kelce appeared on “The Rich Eisen Show,” where he discussed their relationship.

“She had just been so open to learning the game,” Kelce said. “I think what makes her so good in her profession is that she’s so detailed in every aspect of it, from the words to her music and even the releases and the music videos and everything. She’s just so detailed and a part of it, that I think she was just curious about the profession.”

Kelce even said that Swift had started drawing up some plays for him, though he noted with a smile, “She’s a little biased and just creates plays for me. So we’ll see if they can make coach (Andy) Reid’s office.”

Kate Cross wants the players in England Women’s new-look team to stake a claim for future involvement during their white-ball series against Ireland.

The 32-year-old seamer has been named captain for the tour, which begins on Saturday with the first of three ODIs in Belfast, with regular skipper Heather Knight preparing to lead her squad in next month's Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE.

Cross, Tammy Beaumont and Lauren Filer were among the more experienced players who did not make the 15-player squad for the World Cup but will be joined in Ireland by some up-and-coming talents and the stand-in captain is eager for everyone to make a case for playing a part in upcoming series.

"Whenever you wear an England shirt or more so in our regional stuff this summer, there is always a point to prove now," Cross said. "There is always some big cricket on the horizon whether that's ICC events, Ashes series, Test matches in South Africa.

"What we're trying to achieve as an England Women's group is a depth of players who can step into those roles whenever they might be required. There are always going to be disappointed people whenever ICC events come around because you can only take 15 away.

"Lauren Filer just missed out, but she's had an unbelievable 18 months of cricket, especially in an England shirt, and I know the messaging from [head coach Jon Lewis] was she's tracking in the right way, but the conditions might not necessarily have suited her in Bangladesh or the UAE.

"Ultimately, what drives a lot of people on is to make sure they're in that squad for the next series."

Although not selected for the World Cup, Cross has been given the opportunity to do something she never thought would be possible in captaining her country after being selected in the role for the three ODIs and two T20Is against Ireland.

The right-armer is excited by the opportunity to skipper the national team, having done so at domestic level for Lancashire Thunder and Manchester Originals, and is aiming to make the most of what she acknowledges may be her one chance to do so.

"The tour comes so thick and fast that I'm hoping it dawns on me towards the back end of it," Cross said. "I've told myself I just want to enjoy the opportunity and I'm not daft, it's not something which might crop up again.

"This tour might be the only chance to captain my country, so I just want to make sure my overriding feeling is one of enjoyment and to not come away with any regrets.

"There is not a mass of time to change things or influence, but hopefully what we can do as a group here is something special.

"It's probably just starting to sink in a little bit now. The reality of playing a game of cricket and getting to go out and captain your country is the stuff dreams are made of."

Ireland, meanwhile, head into the matches full of confidence after going some way towards making up for not qualifying for the T20 World Cup by beating Sri Lanka 2-1 in this home summer's ODI series and drawing their T20I series 1-1.

Gaby Lewis, who captains Ireland due to regular skipper Laura Delany being sidelined by an ankle injury, is confident the hosts can continue that progress by claiming a series victory over England.

"It would be absolutely huge and it's something we're looking towards," Lewis said. "We go in trying to win every game.

"Having been through a dip with not making the World Cup, I think we've flipped it on its head and turned it into a positive and used it to really drive us on in our home summer.

"We showed that in the Sri Lanka series, we're ready to carry that on, and no doubt we've got the capability to win these two series."
