I traveled alone with this cruise on a 2-day tour and I really loved the experience! The staff were so attentive and caring, they helped arrange for me to sit with other solo travelers when having meals. And I had such a good time and did not feel awkward at all. The drink was a little bit expensive though. Halong Bay was stunning and squid fishing was so much fun.

The ship was beautiful and modern. I loved its cleanliness and elegant look. Meals were delicious and catered well to vegetarians like me. We were a little disappointed that we could not order any food outside of the meal times. We did enjoy the views, hospitality, and activities though! 

Our family stayed in the family triple suite and we felt so pleased thanks to this large and convenient cabin. However, its view was quite limited as it was located on the 1st deck. We had some troubles with the A/C in our room at first but then the staff really did their best to make us feel comfortable again. Thanks a lot! The views were perfect and activities were fun, especially the boat rowing and caving.

Without a doubt, the staff were so helpful and professional with services as well as the food was delicious. We also got a great room, very clean and elegant. However, I must state some following drawbacks: it was a little noisy sometimes when I stayed in my room, and the drinks were delicious but quite overpriced. We suggest more soundproof systems for the cabins and lower the drink prices please. Overally, I highly recommend this cruise to anyone!

We were so happy to choose Athena Luxury and it was even more beautiful and memorable to us when we celebrated my birthday on the cruise. The hospitality, food and drinks, cleanliness and comfort were absolutely 5 on 5. We also loved all the activities, they were fascinating but very balanced at the same time. The highlight of the trip was my birthday party on board. The crew prepared a very beautiful cake to surprise us, which was so lovely and thoughtful of them. Thank you all and we really appreciate all the services and love we got during the stay on Athena Luxury boat.

Thanks Athena Luxury for this memorable trip. The manager was so kind and thoughtful and so were all the staff. The suite we stayed in was large and pleasant. It was on the ground floor but still offered magnificent views. However, the lunch buffet had limited options and I suggest the cruise add more flavors and dishes. The dinner, happy hour, brunch, etc. were amazing though!

A great cruising experience! Would recommend everyone to visit Halong Bay for once as its beauty was really charming. Some of the service staff did not understand English and at dinner, the serving was quite slow due to a large number of guests. However, still an enjoyable trip thanks to excellent experiences of kayaking, spa treatments, film entertainment, and so on.

The ship was well maintained and I must compliment their modern facilities and attentive services! The bays were magnificent, especially at sunset. Unfortunately, we could not see the sunrise clearly because of the fog. Mr. Tim was really knowledgeable and helped us a lot during the cruise and so were all other lovely staff. The 2-day schedule was quite busy but we still wanted to stay longer on the boat for more adventures. Thanks for this wonderful and memorable experience!

Operated since mid-April 2017, Athena Cruise seeks to deliver a one-of-its kind trip to the natural world heritage site of Halong Bay. There are 4 types of cabins spreading over 3 decks: Executive suites, Elegant Suite, Terrace suite and Family Suite.

Restaurants and sundecks are both spacious and well-equipped to make sure you will enjoy every single moment being on board. You can spend your leisure time reading books or watching sunset with 360 degree view from the top deck, or indulge in luxury spa service.

Cruise itinerary

Transfer to Halong Bay (shuttle bus or private car, not included in cabin price). Arrive at Halong International Cruise Port (SunGroup).

Take a tender to the main vessel. Be warmly welcomed by friendly crews and receive a complimentary drink with brief introduction and safety guidelines. Check-in your cabin and enjoy lunch while Athena Cruise moves to Halong Bay. Arrive at Bo Nau Cave area then transfer by tender to visit Sung Sot Cave (Surprising Cave) - the largest and most beautiful cave in Halong bay. Return to boat and continue the trip to Titov Island for swimming and hiking to the top of the mountain. 

In early evening you can enjoy Happy Hour on sundeck, or learn how to make Vietnamese food with the cooking class. Later dinner will be served and followed by free time for dinner activities such as squid fishing, watching movie, massage,...

Early risers can head to sundeck for a morning Tai Chi session. Light breakfast will be served, just before your visit to Luon Cave by a kayak or bamboo boat. Return to main board and free time to relax. Later check out of your cabin and enjoy a delicious brunch as the cruise heads back to pier.

Early birds can attend the morning Tai Chi session on upper deck. Light breakfast will be served to get your energy up before being transfered to day boat and visit other destinations of Halong Bay. Access to Tung Sau Area for kayaking.

Another set menu dinner will be served. You can later spend free evening film entertainment (in the dining room); squid fishing; massage or meet new people in social area.

Frequently Asked Questions

The transportation service is always available to serve the needs of passengers. Guests can opt for shuttle buses or private cars. You need to show up at Hanoi Old Quarter on time and the transferring cars of Athena Cruise will pick you up and take you to Halong. The transportation service is not included in the total rate.

Athena Cruise suggests you bring necessary items such as clothes, some accessories and identity papers. Some excessive luggage needs to be left at the hotel in Halong Bay and you cannot carry all of them on board. Besides, you are advised to bring a swimsuit and a small backpack to carry necessary things to the tender boat.

Athena Cruise does not provide laundry service on the vessel. If you want to have more information, please contact the sales department.

Tourists are not allowed to carry any kinds of beverage on board. The bar of Athena Cruise offers a variety of choices for drinks. If you have any request in terms of beverages, please contact the sales department.

To check-in on Athena Cruise, tourists should provide the booking confirmation, identity papers and credit card or cash used for bill settlement.

In case of unfavorable weather, the local authority of Halong has the right to request the cruises to stop embarking from the harbor. In most cases, Athena Cruise will inform guests at least one day prior to departure, or right in the morning of departure day.

Wifi is available on Athena Cruise, and the connection in the restaurant is the most stable. In the Cong Dam Area, there is no signal, so you need to manage your time to use wifi on board.

Special menus for kids, vegetarians and tourists with specific requirements are prepared on Athena Cruise. Please contact the cruise team in advance to inform them about your special requirements.

Athena Cruise advises pregnant women to have careful medical check-ups with the doctor before deciding to join the cruise. However, the more-than-32-week pregnancy should hold off the journey to ensure safety.

Halong Bay is about 175 kilometers to the northeast of Hanoi, and it might take you about 3.5 to 4 hours to travel from Hanoi to Halong. The transferring car might stop about 30 minutes on the way for some rest and bathroom break.

• Complete the luggage check-in procedure at the waiting lounge before boarding for the luxury cruise.

• Transferred to the Athena Luxury Cruise Halong Bay by a tender boat.
• The Cruise Manager and the whole crew welcome you onboard, and a safety briefing and clearing of the itinerary will be delivered while you are enjoying our signature welcome drink

12:45: Happy lunch.

• Lunch is served at our cozy restaurant at Athena Luxury Cruise Halong Bay.
• As the cruise departs towards Halong Bay – a natural wonder of the world, absorb yourself in the gorgeous scenery and famous sights of limestone

• The cruise stops at “Bo Nau” cave (Pelican Cave), the core area of the world’s natural heritage.
