Five-a-side soccer is the most popular small-sided version of soccer and is played around the world. Five-a-side provides over 300% more touches, shots, passing and dribbling opportunities compared to even an 8v8 format and is universally accepted as an exceptional development format for youth players.

• The game consists of four (4) outfield players and a goalkeeper.
• Goals are 12 x 6.
• Roster max of 10 players.
• Field dimensions no greater than 35 yds x 55 yds.
• All free kicks are indirect.
• Indirect kick-ins instead of throw-ins.
• Goal kicks are passed in from anywhere inside the goal box and must be played within 5 seconds.
• 5 yards back from any free-kick situation.
• No offside.
• Penalties from 5 yards and keeper must stay on the line.
• 24 minute games – 2 minute halftime.
• Subs “on the fly” as long as the player being substituted is off the field at halfway (10 player roster)

Local Teams Shine At 5v5 Soccer National Tour Tournament

The local soccer scene was ablaze with excitement as Toombs County Soccer Association (TCSA) hosted a 5v5 Soccer National Tour Tournament this past weekend in Vidalia. The event brought together thirteen talented teams from Florida, Americus, Jesup, Reidsville, Saint Mary’s, Savannah, Treutlen, and Vidalia for a day of fierce competition and camaraderie.

Aligned with 5v5 Soccer’s mission to expand the sport's reach, the tournament provided a platform for players of all levels to showcase their skills. The emphasis on fun, friendship, and fair play created a positive atmosphere for both participants and spectators.

The competition was divided into three divisions: 14u, 15u, and Men's Open. Each division witnessed thrilling matches as teams battled for supremacy and a coveted spot in the National Championship in Tampa, Florida.

In the 14u division, the Chargers FC 2011 emerged as champions, displaying exceptional teamwork and individual brilliance. The Lucky 13s and Long County Wolves Boys put up a strong fight, securing second and third continued from page

place, respectively. The 15u division was equally competitive, with Los Compadritos ultimately claiming the top spot. Camden FC and Americus United showcased their talent, finishing as runners-up and third place, respectively.

The Men's Open division delivered high-octane action, with FC Daffin dominating the competition to secure the championship title. Bayern Neverlusen and Americus United put up a valiant effort, finishing second and third, respectively.

TCSA extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the winning teams and expresses sincere gratitude to 5v5 Soccer for organizing such a successful event. The tournament's success can be attributed to the tireless efforts of coaches, referees, parents, and volunteers who contributed to creating a memorable experience for all involved.

As these local teams prepare to represent the area at the National Championship, the community eagerly awaits their performance on the national stage. Their participation not only reflects the growing strength of soccer in the region but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring young athletes.

Battery partner with 5v5 Soccer Tour for July 22 tournament at Patriots Point

The Charleston Battery are excited to partner with the 5v5 Soccer National Tour to host the tournament at Patriots Point on Sat., July 22.

The tournament will run from 9 a.m. ET to 5 p.m. ET, ahead of the Battery’s match against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC at 7:30 p.m. the same day. Games will take place at the Mount Pleasant recreation fields next to the Battery’s stadium at Patriots Point. Every participating player will receive a ticket to the Pittsburgh match.

Participating teams are guaranteed to play four games, which include two 12-minute halves. Squads will be comprised of four field players and one goalkeeper, with a maximum team size of 10 players. It is open to all players, from those born in 2016 to adults.

Registration is currently open and teams can save money by registering and paying by July 12. The final deadline to register is July 16.

The top three teams will receive medals and qualify for the 5v5 Soccer Nationals in Central Florida on Nov. 18-19 later this year.

Warrior Soccer Tour hosts hundreds of soccer tournaments in each division every year, allowing teammates across the country to play and connect over a sport they all love. Our mission is to give everyone a chance to play soccer in a safe, fun, and professional environment — no matter what their age or skill level is. We encourage great sportsmanship whether a team wins or loses, we never want anyone to give up, and we teach our players to give 100% no matter what. Coaches and Teams, ********Please read everything in this email.********* The Tournament schedules are now posted for the 5v5 Soccer tournament this weekend. Please remember DO NOT send screenshots of the schedule to your fans/teams/players / or parents or use them for yourself. Use only the live site, as the schedule is subject to change (screenshots do not update). The best way to see the schedule and follow your team is by downloading our free app 5v5soccer. Click here for our free 5v5 Soccer App Online Schedule Link https://soccer.exposureevents.com/213946/5v5-mustang-ok If you or your players ordered a tournament t-shirt in the player waiver process, please pick it up at the tournament HQ, after your second game (this will allow coaches time to complete their team's check-in process). We will have a handful of extra shirts on site for $20, cash, or Venmo @us5v5soccer. I recommend having all your parents and players download our app to follow your team(s) and to receive automatic schedule updates, messages, and all things important about the tournament, our app is free on Apple or Android (5v5 Soccer). Every team will play at least 4 games - Once your Pool play is completed - you will have to go to the button in the app called bracket to see the playoff games -once all scores are entered from pool play the names of teams will automatically fill into the bracket play - and you can see which teams advanced and when and where they play. (This does take some time)- Please don't rush over right after your 3rd game and start asking where you play - we will not immediately know as we have to wait for the updates as well. All other divisions play round robin (this means you play each team in your division 1 time (twice in a 3 pool bracket). You will place 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on based on points (see rules for tie breakers). 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place will receive medals.
