All Time Low Announce North American 'The Sound of Letting Go on Tour'

Pre-sale tickets will be available beginning today, and general on-sale will kick off this Friday, April 28 at 10:00am local time.

Multi-platinum-selling rock band All Time Low have announced "The Sound Of Letting Go On Tour," a North American fall headline trek featuring special guests Gym Class Heroes, Grayscale, and Lauren Hibberd.

LATEST NEWS

The 21-city tour will kick off on September 8 with a hometown show in Baltimore, MD, visit major markets coast-to-coast, and wrap on October 17 in Portland, OR [full itinerary below]. Pre-sale tickets will be available beginning today, and general on-sale will kick off this Friday, April 28 at 10:00am local time HERE .

Next month, All Time Low will hit the road for leg one of "Tell Me I'm Alive On Tour" with support from Mayday Parade and Games We Play. The 25-city North American Trek includes two special shows of legendary proportions that quickly sold out - the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO which All Time Low is headlining for the first time on May 23; and a special unplugged performance at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on May 18 that will kick off the epic headlining tour.

Additionally, All Time Low will appear at When We Were Young Festival 2023 in Las Vegas this October. A complete list of upcoming tour dates and ticket information can be found HERE .

All Time Low's latest studio album Tell Me I'm Alive was released last month, and is available HERE via Fueled By Ramen. The 13-track collection marks All Time Low's first full-length album in three years and ushers in an exciting new era for the band.

Recorded in Los Angeles and Aspen with longtime collaborators Zakk Cervini [blink-182, Machine Gun Kelly, Halsey] and Andrew Goldstein [Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Jxdn], the album is a gut punch of renegade riffs and intense introspection that finds the band reaching thrilling new heights of creativity.

Highlighted songs on Tell Me I'm Alive include the new soul-baring chant-along focus track "Calm Down," as well as the "Sleepwalking," which hit No. 1 at Alternative Radio, the emotional title track "Tell Me I'm Alive," and "Modern Love," the anti-dating anthem ironically released on Valentine's Day. All Time Low recently delivered the network television debut performance of "Calm Down" on Good Morning America.

Of the album, frontman Alex Gaskarth states, "'Tell Me I'm Alive' is an exploration of loneliness, isolation, and coping with the pitfalls of a world that feels like it's out to get you after collectively going through several very tumultuous years kicked off by the pandemic.

It is not a 'pandemic record,' per se, but written on the heels of such a life-changing event, its themes are certainly focused through and informed by that lens; Some songs echo defiance and a desire to escape, others are reflective and remorseful over lost time and longing for deeper connections and deeper meaning.

We wanted to instill a hopeful tone, but ultimately this album is about dealing with hopelessness and surviving. We hope our fans find comfort in the understanding that even at our lowest points, there can be forward motion, growth, the strength to let go of what no longer serves us, and ultimately a message of resilience."

About All Time Low

All Time Low have undeniably, albeit unassumingly carved out their own corner of popular culture. The multi-platinum Maryland quartet have toppled charts, sold out arenas worldwide, and served up a series of instantly irresistible anthems in the process.

Their catalog consists of five consecutive Top 10 albums on the Billboard Top 200 in addition to picking up multi-platinum, platinum, and gold certifications. Speaking to their impact, Rolling Stone even named So Wrong, It's Right among its "50 Greatest Pop Punk Albums." In 2020, they ascended to a new commercial and critical high watermark with their eighth full-length LP, Wake Up, Sunshine.

Following a #1 debut on the Top Rock Albums chart, it spawned the biggest hit of the band's career thus far, "Monsters" [feat. blackbear]. It clinched #1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart for an unprecedented 18 weeks, emerging as the longest charting song ever at the Modern Rock format.

In addition to going platinum, it notably garnered "Alternative Rock Song of the Year" at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, while superstar Demi Lovato teamed up with the group for the Official Remix. Meanwhile, the mainstream came to them as they delivered show-stopping performances everywhere from Bonnaroo and Firefly to The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ellen, Good Morning America, and beyond.

All Time Low - sometimes known by the acronym ATL - are an American pop punk band, formed in 2003 and hailing from Baltimore, Maryland.

The band have maintained the same lineup ever since they started; talismanic frontman Alex Gaskarth sings and plays rhythm guitar and keyboards, Jack Barakat takes care of lead guitar and backing vocals, Zack Merrick does the same on the bass, and Rian Dawson is behind the drum kit. Over the course of their decade-plus career to date, they’ve pretty much become poster boys for pop punk as a genre; it’s a style of music that permeates every aspect of their back catalogue, right from their early days playing Blink-182 covers in school, through to their rise to prominence through the Vans Warped Tour, which is to pop punk and emo bands what Download Festival is to metal.

When promoting their debut full-length “The Party Scene” back in 2005, they were happy to play on the undercard to bands like Plain White T’s and Forever the Sickest Kids, but their follow-up “So Wrong, It’s Right” - released in September of 2007 - saw them genuinely break through, and become one of the best-loved pop punk bands on the circuit. Album number three “Nothing Personal”, was another huge step up, landing at number four on the Billboard charts, and their fourth record, June 2011’s “Dirty Work”, saw them begin to flirt with alternative rock influences - not that it lost them many fans. 2012’s “Don’t Panic” continued that approach, and why not? It’s served them impressively well so far.

Live reviews

I have been a fan of all time low for nine years and this was the first time I've ever been able to see them.

I really loved their performance, they were great guys and had great interactions with their fans. I've never seen so many tampons thrown at people before, I wonder if they donate all the tampons every show to a tampon cause if that exists. Assuming their unused.

The sound they created was amazing. This is a live performance you shouldn't miss if you are a fan. The lights and set were cool too and interactive or related to the song or just looked sweet.

They really took care of their fans when they tossed out water to those who were stuck in the front row and when they invited a dozen or so on stage to sing with them. I don't know if I've been to a show where a group did that and I've been to a lot of shows. To lock eyes with artists like these guys from feet away and be able to sing their songs with them is just an unforgettable memory for everyone who watched and especially the fans who were up there doing it.

The venue, The Palace Theatre had a great staff beyond the show, they were prompt to the safety of fan and others, moved the crowd in and out of the venue smoothly, provided an extremely clean and comfortable environment (I've never seen cleaner bathrooms at a venue, even the main floor.). Beyond answering my questions and serving me promptly I observed the same service was given to everyone else at a high standard.

I'll be heading back to see All Time Low when it works out again and this venue many more times to come.

All Time Low writes extremely beautiful songs that really hit the hearts of teenagers and young adults. But, no matter what your age is you will definitely have an awesome time.

Something I love about this app is that it shows you who is opening. This goes for any concert, but take the time to check out the opening act because it's a wonderful way to meet new bands and expand your interests.

What I loved about going to the Baltimore show was that up and coming bands were walking around singing and promoting their music. Don't be afraid to ask for a photo because it honestly makes their day knowing people are actually listening and care. I asked the mercy guy for a photo... you just have to put yourself out there and enjoy yourself.

The character of the concert was absolutely amazing. The only thing better than All Time Low records, are hearing their songs live. The guys are great, constantly making jokes, and doing everything they can to make sure the concert is as great as you expected... often times it comes out better.

Definitely consider seeing this band live. I have never heard a better band live and the way they connect with fans is amazing. The whole night was enjoyable and not only did I leave with pockets full of confetti, and a comfy new sweatshirt, but so many memories and a great feeling of worthiness and importance.

A great memory from my concert was when ATL and their opening acts all came out in nothing but their underwear singing YMCA and Jack was wearing one of the (many) bras thrown to him. Great night!

I had first heard that All Time Low would be playing at the Compuware Arena in Plymouth, MI and thought, "Hey, it'd be fun to see if I could go to that.". I hadn't bought the tickets though, and sort of gave up on going. But somewhere in late March, I bought them because I decided that I NEEDED to see All Time Low. And I was right.

The guys gave a great show. They sounded amazing, had awesome energy, and did fabulously when interacting with the audience. I nearly died when Alex pointed at ME! They did a good job connecting with everybody. They danced around, thanked the audience multiple times and seemed as though they were having just as much fun (if not more!) as I was. They made jokes and got everybody in the venue to chant "DILDO FARM" in order to get an encore. They brought fans onstage during 'Time-Bomb' and were very nice to everybody in the place. It was also awesome of them to do a little meet-up with some fans before they left for the next show. They brought Jenna McDougall (of Tonight Alive) on stage to sing the hit song 'Love Like War'. I could go on forever about how AMAZING this band is live, but this review is long as it is. The only advice I can give you is to MAKE SURE YOU SEE ALL TIME LOW LIVE! :)

The show was amazing! My friend and I got front row but we were more towards the left, but it was okay because we could still see which is the most important.

It was great, the music was great, the band was great; they had a ton of energy ( even though they said they were exhausted). They really put on a show for their fans. And whoever did the pyrotechnics did an excellent job, so kudos to them.

They really give it their all, which we all really appreciate.

The only negative thing I can say is there was one lady who said that we shouldn't rock out as hard as my friend and I were. And she kept trying to push us out of the front , but there is really nothing you can do about that and there's always that one person who doesn't understand the whole space issue in the concert, but you know you just kind of ignore the people who don't know how to have a good time.

But other than that we rocked hard and had a blast! The Band was amazing, the pyrotechnics were awesome, the security staff was great (I mean they passed out water which I honestly believe I would've passed out without it) and the crowed was super nice and understanding.

Thanks again for the amazing concert!!!

These guys always bring a ton of energy and hilarity to every show. An example would be all the bras from past shows that get thrown on stage hanging from a microphone stand. Or the sign on the back of the Jack's guitar that says Me + Your Mom.

While they aren't over the top with the dance moves and physical antics, they have great crowd-pleasing anthems that all the fans know and sing loudly along with, which they they encourage. Hearing thousands of people shouting the chorus of "Dear Maria, Count Me In" into each others faces is a remarkable experience.

It can be said that good drummer makes a decent band great, but these guys also bring catchy hooks with a quirky sense of humor. Watching Rian ride the crash make them a consistent favorite for anyone who favors percussion.

As a popular band it is hard to see them at smaller venues these days (El Corazon in Seattle was ludicrously good!) but you can still catch them playing the occasional House of Blues and of course they are regulars with the Warped Tour. Like all the best pop-punk, there is no reason to see them anywhere that has seats. You need to get up in the mix and get all sweaty and smiling shouting along with each hit.

This was my first All Time Low concert and I enjoyed it so much. I already loved the band yet somehow, I seemed to love them even more after the show. The streamers, the confetti and the lights were an amazing asset to the performance and I really, really, really hope that they tour again in England and I get to see them again. Their charisma was like nothing I was expecting and the general atmosphere supported by the boys (men really) was amazing. Everyone was singing, dancing, jumping, raving and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Dear Maria Count Me In in the encore was extraordinary and it was very sentimental as it was from So Wrong It’s Right. Kids In The Dark and Lost In Stereo were two of my favourite songs played at the show, and somehow again, I’ve come to love them even more. Dark Side Of Your Room was and addition to the setlist and my friends and I were thrilled with the change. It was a shame Pierce the Veil didn’t tour due to certain circumstances, but Creeper got the crowd going wild before ATL even came out. I would definitely see All Time Low again, and hopefully they’ll perform the same setlist but with a new album soon!

The Baltimore pop/punk quartet All Time Low has acquired a dedicated fan base during their extensive touring schedule since the beginning of their career. The gradual increase in venue, stage and crowd size has had an obvious influence on the boys as they perform on a very personal with their audience. It feels like they are performing to a few friends as opposed to thousands.

From the opening chords of 'Love Like A War', the quartet stay true to their punk roots and attack each track with an upbeat intensity. The crowd cheer, clap and fist pump below during cult classics such as 'Lost In Stereo'. An all round fun show, the band definitely do not take themselves too seriously as they joke with the crowd about their progression and tell stories of the tiny stages that they began on.

Something of a cult phenomena, the band has never had a hit album or single in the UK yet they pack out arenas and the crowd know every lyric in early single 'Dear Maria, Count Me In' as Jack and co proudly close an accomplished set.

The night was amazing!!!! Unfortunately I did not get to meet them like I'd hoped but the night was still great! We had to line up and while we were waiting jack and Zach walked by and literally gave me a heart attack!!! We soon got in and I found my friend and she saved us a spot closer to the front so that was nice! Unfortunately there was people smoking marijuana and drinking beer and there was the occasional Mosh pit. I loved the band waterparks! Swmrs could use some work. The mosh pitting thing started there and it was pissing me off. When all time low played...it was like a dream! Alex was so amazing...he was just funny and he and jack like usual goofed off a ton! Zach was quiet as usual but he still looked like he was having a blast. I was in the crowd singing until my lungs voice was gone. I seriously loved them so much. They gave me the best concert of my life. I love you all time low. But it would have been helpful if the special package thing could have been released on this app sooner.

As it was my first time seeing All Time Low, I wasn't quite sure, what to expect. That being said - I was not disappointed!

First of all, let me recommend you that if this is your first time to a Show like this and you're uncomfortable in a crowd, avoid the Center of the crowd, as this is where it gets really wild and you're very likely to be squashed or jumped on (in a harmless way).

The band's Performance was amazing, packing out all of their greatest Songs, you are sure to hear your favourite, with Alex' live vocals sounding as clear as they do on CD, whether it's while jumping around to Kids In The Dark or performing a quieter Version of Therapy.

On stage banter and crowd interaction also didn't come too short, with the crowd being encouraged to sing and jump along, or even get up on peoples' shoulders.

If you feel like it, bring along a spare bra to throw up on stage and Show your love.

Took my daughter to her absolute favorite band for her sweet 16. It was cool because it was her actual birthday on the day of the concert. We got box seats so that we could sit if we wanted and not be on the floor and risk not being able to see, and avoid potential mosh pits! It was excellent. One person did fall and had a hard time but the lead singer of ATL stopped the concert and brought in security to get the person off the floor to safety and got them checked out. That was really cool. Never been to a concert where that happened. We missed Dashboard Confessional, but that couldn’t be helped. We have never been to the Fillmore venue and we were not disappointed!

All Time Low 2023 Tour Announcement – The Sound of Letting Go On Tour Schedule

All Time Low 2023 Tour Announcement – The Sound of Letting Go On Tour Schedule

A pop-punk-palooza is coming your way! All Time Low has lined up dates for the trek called “The Sound of Letting Go On Tour.” And they’re bringing a few old friends with them. Joined by Gym Class Heroes, they’ll begin on September 8th in their native Maryland and end on October 17th in Portland, OR.

They announced this All Time Low tour in the best way they know how… a goofy and lighthearted video that puts their cheeky humor on full display. Members Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat posted a clip for their one million Instagram followers, alongside Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy. They captioned it with “Come for the chaos,” which is most definitely an understatement.

All Time Low concerts are already known for silly singalongs, stage diving, and setlist surprises. And when you add their old friends, Gym Class Heroes, into the mix, whom they’ve shared a record label and countless tours with over the past two decades, things are bound to get crazy. We wouldn’t be surprised if McCoy joined All Time Low onstage for some guest vocals or vice vera. And you may or may not feel like you’re at Emo Nite as they sing together again after all these years!

And have no fear; if you can’t make it to the “Tell Me I’m Alive tour” happening this summer, you’ll still have plenty of chances to see an All Time Low concert in 2023! They’re continuing to support their ninth and latest album, 2023’s Tell Me I’m Alive ,” which is chock full of pop-punk bangers you can’t beat. We’re talking about tracks like “Sleepwalking,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard ‘s Alternative Radio chart. There’s also “Modern Love,” “Calm Down,” and the titular track, all of which show off All Time Low’s musical growth.

They’re not just boys sweating on the Warped Tour anymore, and aimed to put every bit of emotion into their latest record to further relate to their fans. Just ask lead singer Alex Gaskarth, who explained the writing process in pristine detail. “‘Tell Me I’m Alive’ is an exploration of loneliness, isolation, and coping with the pitfalls of a world that feels like it’s out to get you after collectively going through several very tumultuous years kicked off by the pandemic,” he says.

“It is not a ‘pandemic record,’ per se, but written on the heels of such a life-changing event, its themes are certainly focused through and informed by that lens. Some songs echo defiance and a desire to escape; others are reflective and remorseful over lost time and longing for deeper connections and deeper meaning.”

All Time Low developed a reputation in the 2000s for their lighthearted demeanor and silly music videos that perfectly captured their pop-punk hits. Think “Dear Maria Count Me In,” “Weightless,” “Lost in Stereo,” and “Kids in the Dark.” However, they’ve proved in recent years that they’re also serious artists with no qualms about heavy subject matter. All Time Low

Nostalgia often lights the pathway to the future. By returning to those warm feelings of wide-eyed wonder from childhood, bottling them up tight, and distilling them with years of wisdom, evolution becomes seamless. On their seventh full-length album and first for Fueled By Ramen Last Young Renegade , All Time Low take the next step on a journey they began back in their hometown of Towson, Maryland during 2003. Alight by analog synthesizers, cinematic soundscapes, and a lyrical journey lived through the eyes of a character known as the “Last Young Renegade,” the chart-topping platinum-certified quartet—Alex Gaskarth [lead vocals, rhythm guitar], Jack Barakat [lead guitar, backing vocals], Zack Merrick [bass guitar, backing vocals], and Rian Dawson [drums]—looked back in order to move forward.

“There’s a very nostalgic quality to this record,” Alex affirms. “There are a lot of strings that tie each song together, which had to do with what we were going through at the time. All of these things were quietly affecting where my head was at creatively. The deaths of Prince, David Bowie, and George Michael and watching shows like Stranger Things brought me back to being a little kid. There are touches of those inspirations creeping across. It’s those emotions of sitting in front of the TV cross-legged at six-years-old watching Ghostbusters for the first time. That was a guiding force for how we wrote and approached this.”

“It wasn’t about recreating anything directly, but trying to simply reflect those emotions,” Jack agrees.

Alex adds, “We asked ourselves, ‘How do we not only get that feeling, but give it to people?’ ”

In order to transfer that sensation to audiences, they flipped the script. While touring behind 2015’s Future Hearts , which bowed at #2 on the Billboard Top 200, the band began secretly working on song ideas without letting a soul outside of their inner circle know. With no schedule or expectations looming, the boys experimented and pushed the envelope both thematically and musically.

“It really felt like we had the freedom to explore,” Alex remarks. “We wrote outside the box. I think that creative liberty led us down the road of where this ended up. We went towards those sonic textures and synths. At the end of the day, our core is drums, bass, and two guitars, but I don’t think that’s the be-all end-all of what we are.”

“It’s a bit of a darker direction,” Jack exclaims. That’s something we’ve never touched on lyrically and emotionally throughout a whole tracklisting. It’s dark, but palatable. We’re not 18 anymore. It’s almost fifteen years later. We’ve seen a lot. We’ve lost friends and family members. We’ve found our voice, and we approached this new territory from a perspective that makes sense for us.”

Closing a landmark chapter with Hopeless Records, the boys signed to Fueled By Ramen in 2016. Throughout the year, they continued to assemble those ideas, primarily self-producing for the first time with co-production from Colin Brittain [5 Seconds of Summer, Avicii] and Blake Harnage [PVRIS]. Alex took a writing trip to a ranch in Palm Springs, CA that proved pivotal as the musicians tinkered each and every song to perfection. The title represented the collective mindset as the Last Young Renegade stepped into focus.

“The Last Young Renegade became this character who could encapsulate all of these feelings throughout each song,” Alex elaborates. “It was easier to approach personal experiences from an outside perspective as if I was talking about someone else or describing a movie I just watched. It enabled me to go places I wouldn’t have been comfortable going otherwise. It let me sit down with my demons and talk to them without facing them directly. Anybody can be this character.”

An echo of ethereal guitar, airy keys, and a confessional and catchy chorus come clean on the first single “Dirty Laundry.” Upon its February release, the song quickly clocked over 2 million Spotify streams in under a week, showcasing the group’s progression.

“The older you get, the more you realize everybody has a dark side and a past,” the frontman goes on. “You come to terms with those scars. They’re what make us who we are, define us, and give us character. That’s what the song is about. It was the right one to put out first, because it felt fresh. We actively want to shake things up and place aspects of All Time Low into the light that keep everyone guessing.”

The title track gallops ahead on a powerful chorus fueled by lush and lively instrumentation. “It’s a song about young love,” he continues. “When you fall in love at a young age, reality often sets in. With the waves that life throws at you, the current can be too strong to handle, and it falls apart. This one kicks off the story.”

Elsewhere, they collaborate with Tegan and Sara on “Ground Control” a spacey and soaring nod to Bowie that culminates on the assurance, “Don’t be afraid if you start floating away . ” With its uplifting and undeniable chant, the closer “Afterglow” shines long after the final note. Think Phil Collins crooning over Starboy -style production, and you’re halfway there…

It’s as if All Time Low has been speeding towards this body of work since their inception. Throughout the course of six albums, the band has earned four Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200, peaking at #2. Their catalog of anthems includes the platinum-certified “Dear Maria, Count Me In” and gold-certified “Weightless” and “A Love Like War [feat. Vic Fuentes],” which received the highest honor of “Song of the Year” at the 2014 Alternative Press Music Awards . To date, they’ve garnered five Alternative Press Music Awards , five KERRANG! Awards, and been crowned “Best Pop Punk Band” at the Top In Rock Awards. Along the way, they’ve appeared in Rolling Stone and Billboard and graced the covers of Alternative Press and KERRANG! multiple times in addition to performing on The Tonight Show , Conan , and Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!  Known for unforgettable shows around the globe, they’ve also ignited stages everywhere from Voodoo Music Experience to Warped Tour and on the road with blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Green Day and more.

Last Young Renegade sees them confidently turn the page on their next chapter. “To be honest, I really want people to come out of this simply feeling something,” Jack leaves off. “It’s different than anything we’ve done in the past, but it’s still who we are. We’re really proud of that.”

Alex concludes, “ The biggest thing for me was to make music that allows the band to grow with the fans who have been with us since day one and open the door to new people who aren’t that familiar with All Time Low. The themes we explore are very relatable. I hope this is an emotional ride. That’s what all of my favorite records were for me.”

All time low showcases double-decade discography at ‘the sound of letting go on tour’.

All Time Low lead guitarist Jack Backarat struts his stuff during the band’s headlining show at Aragon Ballroom on Sept. 23.

When I found out Gym Class Heroes and All Time Low were playing a concert together, I knew I needed to be there — if nothing else to honor my middle school self. I studied the setlist for days, getting excited for the show. The artists and their two incredible openers did not disappoint.

I went to the Chicago leg of All Time Low’s “The Sound of Letting Go on Tour” at Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom on Sept. 23. As expected, I thoroughly enjoyed the four-and-a-half-hour long experience, but what I didn’t expect was how interactive it ended up being.

And, what I really didn’t expect was for the artists to be pretty funny.

The show started at 6:30 p.m. with indie artist Lauran Hibberd. To be completely honest, I did not know who she was when I walked through the door, but Hibberd anticipated that and was a good sport. She played a set of seven songs (including a cover of Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” that the crowd very much enjoyed), making jokes periodically about how the crowd did not know who she was, but she was just happy to be there.

After a short gap, the second opener, Grayscale, came on stage. Going into the show, I only knew one of their songs but the set proved incredibly enjoyable anyways. The Pennsylvania-based band opened with “Not Afraid To Die,” their single released a few weeks ago and its first new song since 2021.

As much as the crowd seemed to enjoy Lauran Hibberd and Grayscale, the energy when Gym Class Heroes came on was a level above. GCH opened its 45-minute set with “Kid Nothing and the Never-Ending Naked Nightmare,” and “Peace Sign/Index Down,” where lead singer Travie McCoy functionally taught the audience how to flip somebody off.

all time low japan tour 2023

Then came the time I’d been waiting for: All Time Low took the stage. ATL’s almost two-hour set was incredible, spanning 25 songs from nine albums across 15 years and featuring one Fall Out Boy cover.

My personal favorite songs performed were “Lost in Stereo,” “Dark Side of Your Room” and “Missing You,” (I swear, hearing that last one live would have made Jay from middle school so happy). But beyond the music, ATL put on an excellent show, having extremely high energy throughout the show and keeping the audience engaged with various interactive elements.

For example, the 19th song in the set, “The Irony of Choking on a Lifesaver,” was selected by the audience using a QR code featured on a screen by the stage. (Of course, to maintain journalistic integrity, I did not vote … but this is the track I was hoping for). And, before playing the second song in the encore, guitarist Jack Barakat played five rounds of rock-paper-scissors with a random person in the audience. The audience member won and came on stage to press a button that “randomly” generated a song on the screen: “Coffee Shop Soundtrack.”

A few other moments made the show even more interesting — Barakat noticed the ceiling of Aragon Ballroom painted with stars and stopped the show to ask the crowd, “Are we outside right now? Sorry, the mushrooms are kicking in.”

A bit later in the show, Barakat was complaining about acid reflux and asked if anyone in the crowd had a Tums, taking a random pill that somebody tossed on stage. Lead singer Alex Gaskarth apologized for “getting old,” admitting (somewhat embarrassedly) that he’s 35.

All Time Low closed the first leg of its show with “Monsters,” originally featuring Demi Lovato and blackbear. But considering it hadn’t played its hit “Dear Maria, Count Me In,” yet, I knew the show wasn’t over. The performers returned a moment later for a five-track encore before closing with DMCMI and exiting the stage.

Even after making music for almost two decades and touring periodically, I was incredibly impressed with All Time Low’s performance. The performers played like seasoned experts while maintaining the excitement and fun you’d expect of rookies. I will definitely be attending its next tour, whenever it may be. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Hotel, meals and transportation.

All accommodations have been carefully chosen for their comfort and amenities. All hotels are high quality, and your rooms have private facilities. A full breakfast is provided daily and most meals are included, featuring a selection of Japanese cuisine. You will also stay at least one night in an Onsen Hotel where you can enjoy relaxing in traditional Japanese Onsen Pools whose rejuvenating mineral waters are reputed to cure everything from sore muscles to fatigue. To visit Japan without staying in a traditional Japanese style accommodation would be to deprive you the enjoyment of much of the country's charm and cultural assets.

our vehicle

Our Vehicles

All Japan Tours philosophy is that it´s about enjoying the journey as much as the destinations. Our commitment to quality and service is apparent in every aspect of our tours, including our fleet of top of the line luxury coaches. All Japan Tours has the newest coach fleet on the road. This means the latest features, luxurious finishes and high safety standards.

Our on the Road Team

Our Road team

For us, the most important part of making your trip unforgettable is our team on the road. On all our Japan escorted group tours, a team of two travel professionals (a tour guide and a driver) will accompany you. All are committed, passionate, and eager to share their local knowledge with you. They are there to make sure you see and get the best out of what´s offerred. They will make sure you´re being dropped off right to the door of your accommodation, look after your luggage at the end of each day, and be on hand to share tips on where to eat, what to see, or anything else you need.

Our Tour Guides

The majority of All Japan Tours guides have more than five years of experience. They are carefully chosen, speak fluent Japanese and English and are among the best in the business. These well-seasoned experts are on hand to give tailored advice on ideas of things to do with your free time as well as share their in-depth knowledge of Japanese history and culture to give you a unique and insightful trip. They can provide expert local information that you won´t find in a guidebook.

second to none and work as a team with the tour guides. Each driver holds a Heavy Passenger Vehicle license and have been screened for a clear track record and extensive driving experience. They are also regularly trained in defensive driving, updated road rules, and destination/itinerary delivery. Their experience and knowledge of the roads allow them to navigate and handle weather and road conditions well to ensure your journey is as safe and comfortable as possible.

Flight Arrangement

International flights are not included on our tours - this allows you the flexibility to choose your own departure and get the best value for your money! We can arrange international flights for US customers if needed; please ask for details.

Guests from the UK, Australia, Canada, NZ or other countries can purchase Land Only direct from us, then must arrange their own Air Tickets.

For land-only clients

Depending on your country and departure city, arranging your flight to arrive in Tokyo and to depart from Tokyo, then connecting to/from the tour starts/ends city in Japan by domestic flights may be an option. The launch of a number of low-cost airlines in Japan since 2012, has created increased competition and lower fares on several domestic and international routes. Low-cost carriers including Peach Aviation, Jetstar Japan. Tokyo’s Narita Airport and Osaka's Kansai Airport, providing travelers with affordable connections to domestic destinations such as Sapporo, Fukuoka and Okinawa. They will also operate on a few international routes, mainly to Korea and China, and plan to gradually extend their route networks.

Trip Planning FAQs

A first-time visitor will enjoy any of our tours, but five of our best group tours come the most highly recommended. First is the 7-day Golden Route Tours - one of our most popular tours. It covers all the major must-sees in Tokyo and Kyoto, and is perfect for first-time guests looking for a brief introduction to Japanese culture. Next is the 8-day Golden Triangle Tours , also highly rated - which stops in the Japanese Alps at the UNESCO Heritage Village of Shirakawa-go. The 10-day Best of Japan Tours feature the most well-known regions of Japan, with the addition of prominent locations in Hiroshima. Then we have our 14-day Japan In-Depth Tours , which include all of Japan's most famed attractions, with a route extending down into Kyushu and Shikoku. Finally, AJT invites you to experience the 22-day Grand Tour of Japan - a magnificent vacation including all four of Japan's main islands - the ideal way to see the entire country. Please ask our travel specialists for more details.

A second trip to Japan is the perfect opportunity to travel outside the central region of Honshu and experience the charms of the northern or southern islands. Our Charms of Northern Japan Tours will take you from Sapporo to Nikko and show you the flower fields of Hokkaido, the pine islets of Matsushima Bay, and the Buddhist Pure Land Temples in Hiraizumi. Charms of Southern Japan Tour includes Kyushu and Shikoku, taking you to Nagasaki Peace Park, Takachiho Shrine, the Beppu Hells, and more experiences, including a wagyu beef dinner in Kobe. Charms of Hokkaido Tours immerse you in the breathtaking beauty of Japan's northernmost island, with summer tours to see the colorful flower fields of Furano and Biei, and winter tours to the Snow Festival in Sapporo and the drift ice at Abashiri. Hokkaido tours also stop at Lake Toya, Shiretoko, Noboribetsu "Hell Valley", and more. Please ask our travel specialists for more information.

Yes, we offer small group tours to destinations all across Japan, available in various group sizes. Our Deluxe-Plus Small Group Tours have 24 passengers, which allows you to spend more time at each location and truly soak in the local tradition and culture of Japan. Our Signature Small Group Tours have a maximum of 16 guests, offering the opportunity for a more intimate cultural experience while traveling Japan. And our Active Small Group Tours allow our guests to explore Japan off the beaten path via public train, bus, walking, hiking, cycling, and more, with a maximum of 13 guests, allowing more time for local interaction, and more personal attention from your guide.

We would be happy to assist you with providing vegetarian meals or finding vegetarian options throughout your tour. Japan also has a native cuisine that uses a lot of vegetables and is very healthy. We can also arrange meals to accommodate vegan, gluten-free, no soy or shellfish, or any other dietary consideration. We can help prepare meals that suit your needs. Make sure to speak to one of our travel specialists about your dietary needs when planning your trip.

Most of our accommodations are in modern hotels rated 3-star or more, and include Western-style beds. Some traditional ryokan on our tours use comfortable futons, but if you let our travel specialists know in advance, we can arrange a Western-style bed for you.

Unfortunately, we cannot change the places you travel to during the group tours. However, we will gladly arrange a pre-tour or post-tour extension for your tour, which can include other places in Japan that catch your interest. Please ask one of our travel specialists about planning a pre-tour or post-tour extension for your group tour with us.

Absolutely. If you want an itinerary that includes a little extra time in Japan before or after one of our group tours, ask our travel specialists about making a custom pre-tour or post-tour extension to fit your schedule and budget.

Through our sister company, All Asia Tours , we can connect you to destinations of your choice in China, South Korea, Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Thailand), India, Bhutan, Nepal, and more. These pre-tour or post-tour extensions can be easily connected with one of our Japan group tours.

It depends on how much time you have, from when you land in Tokyo to when you have to be in Osaka. If you have a few days to stay in Tokyo before you have to leave, a transfer by Shinkansen bullet train is the best option. For a quick transfer to Osaka the same day, or for a quick trip to Fukuoka, Sapporo, or wherever else the tour starts, a quick domestic flight would be better. For quick, cheap domestic flights, we recommend using either Jetstar or Peach to reach your starting city quickly.

The 7-day Golden Route is one of our most recommended 1-week tour itineraries, with stops at popular must-sees in Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka. The tour features a Tokyo sushi-making experience, a ride on the Hakone Ropeway, and a green tea ceremony with apprentice geisha. If you have an extra day, take our Golden Triangle Tour , which takes you to the Old Town at Takayama, Matsumoto "Black Crow" Castle, and UNESCO World Heritage Shirakawa-go, famed for it's "gassho-zukuri" farmhouses. We have seasonal varieties of these tours, including spring cherry blossoms and autumn leaves.

For 10 days, we recommend the Best of Japan Group Tour , which takes you on a route from Tokyo to Osaka. The tour stops at Mount Fuji, Hakone, Koka, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, Kurashiki, Hiroshima, Takamatsu, and Kobe. Featured attractions on this tour include a ride on the Shinkansen Bullet Train, the Miho Museum in Koka, temples in Kyoto and Nara, Himeji Castle, Miyajima Island's Itsukushima Shrine, Kotohira-gu Shrine, and a farewell dinner of Kobe Beef We have reverse versions that start in Osaka and seasonal varieties of this tour, featuring spring cherry blossoms and autumn leaves.

For a 2-week tour, we recommend our 14-day Japan In-Depth Group Tours . This itinerary starts in Tokyo and finishes in Fukuoka. We also have the reverse. Along the way, we stop in Hakone, Mount Fuji, Takayama, Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Kobe, Himeji, Kurashiki, Takamatsu, Shimanami Kaido, Hiroshima, Kitsuki, Beppu, and Takachiho. Featured attractions on this tour include Takachiho Shrine, Beppu Hells, Ritsurin Park in Takamatsu, Nishijin Kimono Fashion Show in Kyoto, and Shirakawa-go Village. Cherry Blossoms, Autumn Leaves, and Seasonal Festival Tours are available.

With 3 weeks, plan for our Grand Tour of Japan , which starts in Sapporo and ends in Fukuoka, taking you from one end of Japan to the other. It begins in Sapporo and ends in Fukuoka. Along the way, the tour has 28 stops, including Hakodate, Morioka, Hiraizumi, Nikko, Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, Takamatsu, Hiroshima, Beppu, and Takachiho. Top attractions of this tour include Lake Toya, UNESCO Heritage Chusonji Temple, a cruise of Matsushima Bay, a free day in Tokyo, Kyoto and Nara Temples, and much more. Ask about our spring cherry blossom and autumn leaves itineraries!

Most of our tours will not need a JR Rail Pass. We use private transportation in using our company tour coaches that take you directly to each attraction with your tour guide, so you don't have to navigate Japanese train stations, making for a more hassle-free tour experience. For the select group tours that do need a Japan Rail pass, we include the rail pass as part of your travel package.

Billy, our guide was wonderful and very informative. Our driver was super and the van was just the right size. The 2 other guests were the best.

Absolute;ly loved the tour! Billy was a fantastic guide and very informative about the culture and entertaining.

This was a fantastic way to see Japan. We saw so many sites and we had the opportunity to experience so many things. Learning how to make sushi was not only fun, but it was also a tasty lunch. Billy was a knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. Kamata San is definitely a highly skilled bus driver. Learning about the varying cuisines in the different regions of Japan was a delicious lesson to learn.

Great variety of places, unique experiences and entertaining, informative Guide. AJT staff very helpful - good to have personal service.

We really had a time of our life exploring Japan comprehensively on this tour. All the attractions / sight seeing spots are all amazing. The tour is so efficient and it allows us to see so much more than we could have on our own. And the majority of the hotels we stayed at are amazing!!!
