Port Lincoln in the hot spot for our great friend "Bruce", also known as the Great White Shark. Normally you would not really be inclined to hop in the water with Bruce, but in Port Lincoln, you can safely be surrounded by a steel cage while wearing a wetsuit and being hooked up to an oxygen supply. The famous shark cage dive can only be done in a few spots in the world and... Port Lincoln is one of them!

*Please be aware: This product is for the actual boat tour, additional diving needs to be purchased on the boat itself.

Adventure Bay Charters is an eco-certified company specialises in sustainable and environmental methods of attraction. For them, like many animal lovers, the animals well being and the recognition of its natural habitat (which humans use for recreational purposes) are taken very seriously hence why they use a unique way of attracting the sharks through MUSIC!

The company proudly introduced the first Shark "Aqua Sub" in 2018. A Shark Aqua Sub is a small space, completely surrounded by glass, attached under a boat in order to give you a 360-degree view of the shark's natural habitat.

This tour is not recommended for small children due to the length of the day. Do you just want to observe, and not dive? That is possible too! But those who want to have the maximal once-in-a-life-time-experience: we recommend: add on the dive! (you can do this on the day)

Not included:

Dive in the water ($175) - as many times as you want! Park Access Fee ($39) Upgrade rentals: Mask, snorkel, wetsuit, gloves, hood, & cage access.

Do I need to have a dive certificate / license in order to dive?

No, you don't! The oxygen tube is easy to handle and you will not go deep into the water, only deep enough to see the sharks!

If the tour cannot go because of weather reasons: Adventure Bay Charters will provide a travel voucher for another date. If you cancel within 48 hours there will not be any refund. 20% cancelation fee applies for cancellations or changes made less than 14 days in advance. A 10% fee will apply for cancellations or changes made more than 14 days in advance.

SHARK SIGHTING POLICY

All customers have the right and responsibility to call  prior to their tour for up to date shark sightings information. If there no sharks have been sighted, the tour can be changed to a different date. Changing fees still apply.

Cancellations due to COVID-19 are subject to our normal terms and conditions.

Your day, on board Shark Warrior

Your day begins in our new departure lounge. Check in, enjoy a light breakfast, and browse our selection of merchandise before boarding the Shark Warrior. Our full day tour takes you from Port Lincoln marina to ‘shark bay’ at Neptune Island, approximately 70 kms south of Port Lincoln, South Australia. This is a white shark tour plus. Our focus on the environment with trained passionate staff offers more than just sharks. On the way, see spectacular scenery as you cruise through the Thorny Passage and expect sightings of inquisitive local dolphins and sea birds. Learn from the locals, get off brochure insights into hot tips to visit stay play and fish. Discover remote places and ancient history from the perspective of mariner explorer. To ensure we are protecting the natural environment, we use audio sound vibrations to attract the sharks to the boat rather than berley, blood and bait. Apart from ecological,environmental and social licence benefits of this, using sound vibration is omnidirectional (that is, it travels in all directions underwater), it’s instantaneous and completely eco friendly – and funnily enough, the great white shark’s favourite choice of music is the rock tunes from AC/DC. Meet at the Port Lincoln Marina at 6.30am to the smell of fresh coffee

Depart the Marina at 7.00am as the smell of hot croissants fills the air

Enjoy the 2.5 hour journey to the crystal clear waters of the Neptune Islands

On arrival at the Islands view the Sea Lions that inhabit the area

The Skipper selects the day's location, based on weather, the anchor is dropped and a quick safety briefing is conducted

Now it's time to shark dive!

The cage enters the water and the crew begin to chum and bait the water

Groups of six at a time spend approximately 45 minutes of magnificent cage viewing time

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are all supplied

Cancellation Policy

Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to this policy:

• Cancellations outside 30 days of the booking will incur a 25% cancellation fee
• Cancellations 15-10 days prior to the booking will incur a 50% cancellation fee
• Cancellations 7-15 days prior to the booking will incur a 75 cancellation fee
• Cancellations within seven days of the booking will incur a 100% cancellation fee
• Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
• Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
• Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Privileged to be the only one-day operator who is permitted to use natural fish berley to attract the Great White Sharks. This sustainable practice provides you with the best possible chance of a shark sighting and productive interaction resulting in a memorable encounter.

Calypso Star Charters also operate Swim with the Sealions tours giving you the opportunity to swim with Australian Sealions, the most adorable ‘puppy dogs of the sea’. This half day tour is often described as one of the most interactive wildlife tours you can do!

Swim with the Sealions

All aboard the MV Calypso Star for a journey to the playground of the sea's very cute and very playful 'puppy dogs' of the sea- the Australian Sea Lions at Hopkins, Langton, Grindal or Blyth Island. From the moment you arrive the Sea Lions bound out to the vessel excitedly inviting the guests to join them. The tour provides the opportunity to jump in and swim, viewing the mesmerised skills and abilities of these gorgeous animals, or sit back and enjoy the action from the comfort of the vessel. The tour is environmentally conscious, educational and a whole lot of fun for the whole family!

Shark Cage Diving - Twilight Tour

Operates December and January. Boarding time is 1.15 pm. Enjoy the 2.5-hour journey to Neptune Islands Marine Park. The format of the tour is the same as the day charter. Groups of up to six at a time in the cage - The diving time depends on the shark activity on the day. The crew make an effort to ensure all guests receive a similar experience Afternoon tea, nibbles and a fully-cooked dinner are supplied. Tea, coffee and filter water are available free on board. Soft drinks, bottled water and alcohol are available to purchase. Return time - Due to the nature of the activity, they cannot guarantee the exact time return time to the Marina at the end of the day. The return is subject to weather conditions and shark activity. Generally, guests will return around 10 pm to 11 pm. A Visitor Use Fee is payable by all guests entering the Ron and Valerie Taylor Marine Park (Neptune Islands). Price includes all food and diving equipment on the day and no dive experience is required! No hidden extra fees payable on board. No minimum passengers and the most tour departures available by an operator.

Knowledgeable, local guides, a large, modern vessel and fresh seafood make this a must do tour if you have ever eaten seafood or want to know what makes Port Lincoln the seafood capital of Australia. To truly appreciate Port Lincoln seafood, this tour is a necessity for all visitors and even a local or two. I had this exact thought on the 16th of January on the back deck of the Adventure Lady, standing surrounded by my family and best friends, looking out over the white sandy beaches of Blythe Island, watching Sea Lions frolic in the ocean, like they were waving goodbye. I quietly smiled to myself, and in that moment, I knew, I will never forget. To explain, in January of 2021 I had the pleasure and privilege of privately chartering the Adventure Lady for my 21st birthday celebrations. From start to finish, it was perfect. From checking in in the office to stepping off the boat the staff were incredible, I have so much respect for what they do. The crew, Daniel, Sophie, Kelsi and Daisy, were stand out. They were all so happy I don’t think I saw them not smiling. They made sure everyone was comfortable, safe and having a good time. With their expert Marine Biology knowledge, the crew educated us on the Sea Lions and marine environment, even explaining how we could do things in our everyday lives to protect the beautiful creatures. I am so thankful to them for all that they did for me and for us, I and all my guests had an unforgettable experience. The interaction with the Sea Lions was phenomenal. We had two main groups that were playing around, and they were brave enough to swim directly in front of us. We got some amazing footage on our own cameras, and the crew took some great pictures of us as well! This is a wonderful 3-day adventure that allows you to go shark diving and explore the beautiful Port Lincoln. You’ll start with a day on your own, where you can explore the stunning Port Lincoln, nestled on the shores of beautiful Boston Bay where you will learn about the city’s discovery, history & stories, while enjoying the tastes of the “Seafood Capital of Australia’.

On your second day, you will experience the ultimate in underwater adventure - Shark Cage Dive. Enjoy a 3-hour boat ride to the Neptune Islands, where you’ll get a chance to observe great white sharks from the boat, and then go underwater in the cage for an up-close encounter.

On the final day, Adventure is a big part of the itinerary, with a thrilling 4WD through massive sand-dunes and finish the day amongst the wildlife, with a happy hour.

Welcome to the Seafood Capital of Australia, Port Lincoln! Please check-in and wander along the foreshore of Port Lincoln. At your own expense, you can dine at one of the many close restaurants.

Shark Cage Diving

You’re up bright and early for one of the most extreme and exhilarating ocean interactions with the world’s most feared predator of the sea! Honed by millions of years of evolution, the Great White Shark is one have the most graceful and awe-inspiring fish in the ocean. Absolutely nothing will prepare you for the unique experience on your first encounter with this magnificent specimen in its natural environment.

For your Shark Dive, you are required to board the Shark Cage Dive Vessel by 6.30am on the date of your dive from the pontoon in the Port Lincoln Marina. Early morning snacks for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are prepared on board. Your day will conclude around 7.00-7.30pm that evening.

The home of the Great Whites is out at the Neptune Islands and the 2.5 to 3hour trip is often accompanied by pods of dolphins cruising by with lots of running commentary by the staff on board the shark diving vessel. Once at the Islands, the action begins as sharks up to 18ft emerge from the depths.

Everyone gets the opportunity to dive in the shark proof cage to eyeball these monsters face to face. The view from the deck and fly bridge is just as incredible! The cage is lowered to about surface level and the diver is only submerged 2-3 feet below the surface with divers breathing through regulator and airline attached via a hookah system onboard the boat.

There are videos, live streaming from inside the cage on the galley big screens, books, history, and memorabilia all on board to keep everyone amused and if the day does get the better of guests, then there are always plenty of bunks to have a “nanna nap” to reinvigorate for the day ahead! All diving equipment is supplied and no prior diving experience is necessary!

Return transfers provided back to the Port Lincoln Hotel. After a big day on the water, the evening is yours to enjoy.

Port Lincoln Tour

Start your day by taking in the breathtaking 360-degree views of the city, Boston Island, Boston Bay, and Port Lincoln National Park. Afterwards, visit Flinders Ports Wharf, South Australia's main grain exporting plant, where millions of tonnes of cargo, including fresh seafood, are moved through the wharf. Explore Lincoln Marina, home to the largest fishing fleet in the Southern Hemisphere, and discover the diverse fishing industries and vessels that make Port Lincoln the 'Seafood Capital of Australia.' Later, visit Lincoln National Park, with its stunning coastline, massive sand dunes, and secluded beaches perfect for 4WD adventures, sandboarding, and hiking. Encounter koalas in their natural habitat at Mikkira Station, where kangaroos, emus, and rare bird species also reside. Indulge in a gourmet seafood picnic lunch and unwind while surrounded by the tranquility of nature. Conclude your memorable day with a transfer to the airport for your return flight to Adelaide, cherishing the unforgettable experiences and coastal treasures of Port Lincoln.
