ericdoa announces 2024 'Dead On Arrival' North American tour

ericdoa will make their way across North America for an early 2024 trek.

Announced today , their Dead On Arrival tour will kick off on January 25 at San Diego’s Music Box, and it’ll conclude on March 9 at The Belasco in Los Angeles. Joining ericdoa as support for the trek is bixby.

Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets will go on sale to the general public this Friday (September 29) at 10 a.m. local time.

The artist recently unveiled their new single “kickstand” last week on Interscope Records.

Singer, songwriter, and producer, ericdoa has announced his eagerly awaited “Dead On Arrival Tour.” The 25-date tour will kick off on January 25 in San Diego and will make stops in numerous cities including Austin, Atlanta, DC, New York, and more, before wrapping in Los Angeles at Belasco. General on-sale tickets are available on Friday, September 29 at 10am local time.

This announcement follows the release of his melodic, mind-bending new track “kickstand.” Layered and woozy, the soulful track serves as the first single in over a year from the rising artist. “You’ll never be me just give it a rest, I’m gonna keep it direct,” Eric begins the track. “Keep it quiet, I don’t like to flex.” He continues to spit facts on the biting yet infectious chorus: “Hit me like a kickstand with your pitch, man—never heard one song, but you’re still a big fan.” Eric’s ability to move from rapping to singing is effortless, lending a depth and versatility to the track that elevates the whole production.

Prior to “kickstand,” Eric partnered with Riot video game VALORANT for his dancy track “>one” in the winter, which the lifelong gamer performed at the 2023 VALORANT Champions Opening Ceremony. The track has amassed over 27 million streams on Spotify alone.

ericdoa Reflects on Femininity, Family and Fear of Being Perceived on 'DOA'

With his ‘dead on arrival’ tour recently wrapped and women’s history month in full swing, the emerging puerto rican artist wanted to give credit where credit is due: to all of the puerto rican and hyperpop women who came before him..

A one-off encounter in Bushwick catalyzed the aesthetic of ericdoa ’s DOA album. The 21-year-old Connecticut native stumbled across a woman named Jeni — standing outside with her hand-crafted clothing and household goods on a table before her — when he was walking in Brooklyn one winter day. “She just embodied the maternal spirit of Latin women,” Eric explained. “She reminded me of the strong Latin women who raised me.”

The genre-melding artist released his first album COA in 2020 but really gained traction after his “sad4whattt” single was placed on Euphoria ’s season 2 soundtrack. He followed that up with his sophomore project things with wings , as well as a tour with The Kid LAROI , a headlining tour of his own and a viral VALORANT track dubbed “greater than one.”

We were able to snag tickets to ericdoa’s sold-out Dead On Arrival show in Houston in early February. Here’s our very own experience.

ericdoa’s Dead On Arrival Tour

The Bronze Peacock room of the House of Blues was packed to the brim on Saturday night, February 3rd. Between a comedy show downstairs and the DOA show upstairs, the air was saturated with excitement for the night ahead. The show was opened by bixby , a young and rising lo-fi star. With a short, 20-minute set, bixby took advantage of the short time he had on stage, reveling in the attention and maximizing crowd interaction. He’s definitely the picturesque example of a Gen-Z artist: his sound would perform well on TikTok, and captured the hearts of many girls in the crowd. And then, it was finally time for ericdoa.

When ericdoa finally took to the stage, the ground and walls were literally shaking with anticipation. Kicking off with my personal favorite, “kickstand,” followed by “dancinwithsomebawdy,” the night had officially begun. Despite the small room, Eric was larger than life on stage. He played through all of the crowd favorites. Unfortunately, he did skip out on his iconic Euphoria track, “ sad4whattt .”

Admittedly, I was not much of a fan before attending the show. I’d heard Eric’s music in passing, and was eager to see what the hype was about after hearing he’d sold out his tour in multiple cities. But it didn’t take long to figure it out. ericdoa is electric. He’s got great music that keeps you moving on your feet at all times. Surrounded by die-hard fans singing every word, it became very clear that I’d been missing out on a musical gem for quite some time now.
