Dozens of artists hit the road during 2023 to bring their music to sold-out venues across the globe.
The first half of the year started off strong with artists and bands like Harry Styles, Journey, Carrie Underwood, SZA, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Reba McEntire, Janet Jackson, Lizzo, Blink-182, Charlie Puth, Billy Idol, Wiz Khalifa, Bebe Rexha and Black Pink heading out on their headlining tours.
Some artists had such sought-after tickets for their tours, including Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, that it led to sites, such as Ticketmaster, completely crashing when tickets dropped.
Many summer nights were also filled with good tunes this year as artists including Alicia Keys, Post Malone, Paramore, Chris Stapleton, Boygenius, Lionel Richie, Melissa Etheridge and Maggie Rogers set out on tours during the warmer months.
Concert tours are not only an opportunity for artists to promote their latest albums or to highlight their entire music catalogs, but it’s also a chance for their fans to come together to celebrate the music and musicians that they look up to and love. Those attending shows for artists such as Swift, Beyoncé and Styles often dress to impress, going all out for their outfits. Beyoncé even asked her fans to specifically come to her Virgo season concerts for her Renaissance World Tour decked out in silver and chrome, to celebrate her astrological sign. Swifties, inspired by the lyric “Make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it …” from her song “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” made themed bracelets to trade and hand out to other fans at each of the stops on her Eras Tour.
The performers often praise their fans for all their love and support, like Swift writing on social media in July after her stops in Seattle, Washington, “Thank you for everything. All the cheering, screaming, jumping, dancing, singing at the top of your lungs.”
But if you missed the opportunity to see your favorite artists earlier this year, don’t worry, because The Hollywood Reporter has compiled a list of some of the most anticipated concert tours happening this fall, below.

Tyler, The Creator
I have been a fan of Tyler for a long time, as well as the whole group of OFWGKTA, and seeing him live was something I had on my bucket list. I went in with high expectations for his show, already knowing of how much energy and enthusiasm he puts into his live performances. What I got at The Forum went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. The crowd was amazing, knowing every song and shouting and yelling along with unrivaled amounts of energy. Tyler was just as, or even more, energetic and knew how to work the crowd perfectly by interaction, be it between moments talking about random things or talking about his music and singing. I was blown away by the fact that at least twice he called to stop the song just to start it again because he loved how into it the crowd was and wanted to see it again. Of course we, the crowd, loved it and drained our lungs out with every lyric. I've seen the Arctic Monkeys, Sleigh Bells, Banks, Pendulum, Wolf Alice and others and can honestly say Tyler was the best overall. Everyone exited the venue with shirts soaked in sweat and with cracking voices, with grins on their face from having experienced something they'd never forget. If you like Tyler, or by extension OFWGKTA, you have to see him live if you get the opportunity, you can never anticipate how godly his live performances will be. I will definitely be waiting for his next visit to see him again.
What can I say? This woman is simply a force of nature. Her sheer energy just washes over the crowd. So much positivity, and talent! That voice, the moves, the smile. Do yourself a favor and go see her show!
Moses Sumney
Moses was amazing. Very enigmatic but still approachable, and he had a lot of fun with the crowd. The performance was incredible, his voice is truly something to behold. I've listened to "Worth It" a million times but still got chills when he hit the high note. Would highly recommend seeing Moses live, especially before he gets really famous and expensive to see.
The. Best. Night. Of. My. Entire. Life. This was the second time for me to see Adele. Last time I was quite high up, this time I was in Golden Circle. The atmosphere was incredible, Adele made me feel like I was the only one there in a packed out stadium. The banter she has with her audience in hilarious, she includes everyone and t feels like you're hanging out with your best mate you've known for years. As for her songs, the emotion and passion she sings with is just so raw and heart warming, I cried so many tears. You can tell she has an absolute ball on stage and she has so many upbeat songs and the sass she has is unreal- it cracks me up every time! I feel so grateful to have been apart of this tour and so happy that Adele decided to share this experience with every single one of us. I hope she has the most relaxing break with her family and hope she knows we'll always be here for her whenever/ if she decides to come back. Xx
Arcade Fire
They say perfection doesn't exist, well that's wrong when it comes to Arcade Fire. The show was perfect, almost surreal- definitely the concert of the year by far. The set list on the Wednesday show was as of it was made for me, playing songs I never thought I would hear live, it was an emotional experience. The lighting, costumes, music transitions, props was amazing, and the boxing type ring stage was incredibly clever, allowing them to be closer to the fans and yet providing a different show on every side. Words can't explain what I felt during and after the concert, it was playful, clever, emotional, energetic- Such an amazing band, I'm so glad I found them- I don't know how I was alive before finding them. They have such an incredible stage presence, I really truly recommend seeing them if you have the chance- they unite all ages and create magic and unity.
Absolutely incredible! The music sounded amazing live, not like anything I've heard before. Jónsi Birgisson's voice is incredible live also, even earning applause from the crowd for the length of some of the notes he pulled off. The visuals were stunning. The lights and background of the stage were beautiful. Overall a wonderful experience and will absolutely be seeing them again if I get the opportunity!

Best live artists
A quick glance at our Most Popular Artists chart might tell you a few key things about the sorts of music fans we vibe with. For starters, it shows just how varied our members' tastes are. Pop, rock, dance, hip-hop, indie/alt and R&B all feature heavily, alongside a whole bunch of underground genres and rising scenes.
No two of you are quite the same - and frankly, we love to see it! Any time you check in, our 'most popular artists worldwide' and 'trending artists this week' leaderboards always read like a line-up for the greatest, most diverse live festival on Earth.
Among the top searches and best-selling music artists on our global roster, you might find anyone from Rhianna, Coldplay, Eminem and Ed Sheeran, through to Drake, U2, Kanye West,
Maroon 5, Beyoncé, The Midnight, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris, Imagine Dragons, Justin Bieber - and that's barely looking outside the top 20.
After all, if the weekly race for a spot on our most popular charts tells us anything, it's that the whole concept of 'best live bands' is a tricky one to pin down. Everybody's looking for a completely different type of experience, every night of the year.
That's another thing we love about our users: you're incredible at keeping us on our toes. In return, we’ve made it our mission to help keep you on yours.

The members of JOURNEY celebrated the album's release by kicking off a residency featuring special symphony orchestra performances at the new, state-of-the-art Resorts World Casino in Las Vegas.
As JOURNEY 's legend continues to grow larger and their touring gets bigger, "Freedom" is the band’s first album of new material to be released in eleven years, since 2011's "Eclipse" , and in addition to Schon , along with longtime keyboard player and primary lyricist Cain and Pineda , one more member was recruited for the LP — bassist extraordinaire Randy Jackson , who had played on JOURNEY 's 1986 album "Raised On Radio" .
Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, JOURNEY has 25 gold and platinum albums, with total sales adding up to over 100 million albums worldwide, earning the band two Diamond Awards with a third on the way for the "Frontiers" album. JOURNEY has also surpassed one billion streams on Spotify .

The biggest gigs and tours to look forward to in 2023
From reunited legends to rising stars, 2023’s live calendar is jam-packed with unmissable appointments
Times are tough right now, there’s no denying that. But there’s also no denying the healing power of music – especially going to witness your favourite artist or new obsession live. Luckily 2023 is already jam-packed with massive tours and big gigs to help brighten up our lives, whether that’s Arctic Monkeys stepping up to stadiums, rap’s newest star GloRilla showing her mettle, or reunited legends like Blur and Pulp giving us some good old nostalgia. Here are the biggest gigs and tours to look forward to this year.
- Arctic Monkeys
Dates announced: Arctic Monkeys ’ 2023 dates start early, ringing in the New Year in Australia. From there, they’ll tour Asia and Europe, before coming home to the UK for a massive stadium tour and returning to the US.
Why you should go: To witness a live show as dazzling as the mirrorball the band performed around on their 2022 tour. Something tells us the grandiose strings of latest album ‘The Car’ will sound absolutely majestic in the humongous venues the Monkeys will be playing over the next 12 months.
Dates announced: Elton John starts his year in Australia and New Zealand before returning to the UK and Europe for a Glasto finale .
Why you should go: These are quite literally your very last opportunities to see one of pop’s most iconic and unique artists. Sure, loads of acts say they’re quitting touring and then have a big change of heart a few years later, but you don’t want to take the risk of missing out on Elton.
- Red Hot Chili Peppers
Recommended
Dates announced: Red Hot Chili Peppers will tour New Zealand, Australia and Asia in the first two months of the year, moving on to North America in spring, and Europe and the UK in summer.
Why you should go: They’re pros at the big stadium spectacular – they’ve been doing it for long enough by now. They’re also bringing some huge names with them in support, from Post Malone to The Strokes and Iggy Pop . Not bad!
- Harry Styles
Dates announced: After three rescheduled LA dates in January, Harry Styles will head to Australia in February, continuing on to Asia and Europe, arriving in the UK in May.
Why you should go: The ‘Love On Tour’ tour might seem never-ending, but even if you’ve been multiple times, it’s still a whole lot of fun to go again. Enjoy the conga lines to ‘Treat People With Kindness’ and make friends with your seatmates as you bellow out Harry’s modern pop anthems together. Sounds lovely.
Dates announced: The iconic British girl group will head down under in February before playing a one-off London date in September.
Why you should go: These dates are a continuation of the original Sugababes line-up’s reunion – Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donagh – and will see the women celebrating the 25th anniversary of the group. They’ve been through a lot of ups and downs in that time, but this feels like a perfect way to mark the milestone.
Dates announced: US tour begins January 27.
Why you should go: GloRilla is the hottest new hip-hop talent in the game and it’s not going to be long before she’s filling massive venues around the world. Get down to this tour and say you saw her first – and enjoy her mix of femininity and boldness in her infectious songs.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
Dates announced: US leg begins February 1; the tour arrives in Europe on April 28, with UK dates from May 30.
Why you should go: There’s been some (deserved) uproar about very expensive tickets, but if you can find a pass at a reasonable price, Springsteen will certainly give you value for money – his gigs are known to stretch for hours, rattling through the big hits and the fan favourites far longer than most acts would perform for.
Dates announced: US leg runs from February to August, with UK dates nestled in the middle in April.
Why you should go: To hear the brilliant new songs from upcoming album ‘This Is Why’ among all the best cuts from their back catalogue. Plus, it’s been way too long since Hayley Williams and co went on a proper tour – five years, in fact.
- Caroline Polachek
Dates announced: The UK, Europe and North America are all on Caroline Polachek ’s schedule, beginning in the former in February.
Why you should go: The alt-pop star’s live shows have been described as a work of art and she always packs surprises into her sets – like at her last London gig, when she was joined by Croydon’s Trinity Girls Choir on ‘Billions’.
Self Esteem
Dates announced: UK tour kicks off in February.
Why you should go: This tour feels like a victory lap for Self Esteem , who arguably has had the best last couple of years out of all of us. Her album ‘Prioritise Pleasure’ has constantly wowed fans and critics alike, while her live show has been praised as one of the best in recent memory. Give yourself another chance to see why it’s so brilliant before she inevitably pops off to come up with her next mind-blowing record.
Dates announced: US tour kicks off February 21.
Why you should go: Because SZA ’s new album ‘SOS’ is a very late contender for Album Of The Year and, had it been released earlier, would certainly have been nearing the top of a lot of lists. If you need any more incentive (you shouldn’t), she’s also bringing along Omar Apollo in support to add some extra greatness.
Dates announced: The Doncaster rock’n’roller will head out on a world tour, beginning in the UK in February before hitting Europe and North America.
Why you should go: Yungblud ’s gigs are renowned for being inclusive, euphoric and theatrical celebrations where you can let go, be yourself and find a community of kindred spirits. We could all do with a bit more of that energy in 2023 so get down to a show and make the most of it.
Dates announced: Europe tour begins February, with UK dates from March before continuing onto North America.
Why you should go: Lizzo shows are the ultimate upper – a feel good celebration of life from one of the most infectious personalities in music. Grab your mates and make sure you get there in time for “bad bitch o’clock”.
Dates announced: The ladies of BLACKPINK will take their BORN PINK tour across Asia, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand in the first half of the year, before heading to London in July to headline BST Hyde Park.
Why you should go: This K-pop girl group know how to put on a show , from hi-tech, futuristic VTs to set the mood between each phase of the concert, to artful and flashy stage production. The songs are equally as good – by the time you leave the venue, you’ll have several jostling for place as that day’s earworm.
Dates announced: Blink ’s return begins in South America on March 11, before heading to North America in May and the UK and Europe in September.
Why you should go: It’s the pop-punk icons’ first tour with Tom DeLonge since he left the band in 2015 – aka a massive deal. There’s also a new album on the way, so this won’t just be a big nostalgia trip.
- Taylor Swift
Dates announced: US leg begins March 17; international dates TBA.
Why you should go: Taylor Swift ’s 2023 tour is dubbed ‘The Eras Tour’ and, while it’s not entirely clear exactly how she’s going to honour each of her past albums yet, it’s guaranteed to be the perfect chance to celebrate the many highs of her brilliant career so far (if you can beat Ticketmaster). Plus, the support bill in the US is stacked, with Paramore , Phoebe Bridgers , Gracie Abrams , Haim , Girl In Red , and many more along for the ride.
The Walkmen
Dates announced: US tour begins April 24; one further festival date confirmed so far at Portugal’s Paredes de Coura Festival.
Why you should go: Sure, New York in the early noughties had The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Interpol , but it also had The Walkmen , a band who often get left out of top billing when talking about that much-romanticised scene. Take one listen to the indie disco classic ‘The Rat’ and tell us that’s fair, and then go book your tickets to their reunion tour.
Dates announced: The tour begins in Europe in April, heading to the UK for two sets at Download Festival in June, before moving onto North America.
Why you should go: As if you need a reason to go and see Metallica , the titans of metal. But just in case: they’re masters of their craft – aka big, bruising, headbang-worthy riffs – and have a discography of seemingly endless anthems for you to get lost in the moshpit to.
Dates announced: The Italian rockers will tour Europe across spring with a massive London gig at The O2 in May.
Why you should go: In this day and age, it’s rare for Eurovision contestants to carve out careers post-Song Contest that aren’t short-lived or derided as novelty. But Måneskin are living proof that it is doable, so long as you have the tunes and the charisma to deserve more than 15 minutes of fame. The four-piece have both in bucketloads, as you can bear witness to on this tour.
Dates announced: An intimate UK tour in May.
Why you should go: Foals are now one of the biggest bands in the UK and so the opportunity to see them in tiny venues is a rare chance we must grab when it’s presented to us. Dance to ‘My Number’ on the sticky floor of a club in spring, then celebrate their ascent as they headline Reading & Leeds in the summer.
Dates announced: The UK and Ireland-only dates begin in May, continuing til July.
Why you should go: They’re back, baby! Just under a decade since their last live performances, Pulp have reunited once more and are taking their show back on the road to liven up our summer. Expect all the classics, but no Steve Mackey – the bassist has confirmed he won’t join the band on tour.
Dates announced: Select European festival dates woven between three headline shows in Dublin and London this June.
Why you should go: When Blur first reunited in 2009, they instantly blew away any fears that the band might not be the same after years apart. This latest reunion should be no different and the members seem in good spirits about it, too. “We really love playing these songs and thought it’s about time we did it again,” Damon Albarn said when the gigs were announced.
Moldy Peaches
Dates announced: One London show and appearances at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Madrid
Why you should go: It’s been 20 years since anti-folk icons The Moldy Peaches last performed in Europe. Although they announced their reunion with the slogan “Once a Moldy Peach, always a Moldy Peach”, who knows when this opportunity to see New York underground royalty will come around again?
Joni Mitchell
Dates announced: George, WA, Gorge Amphitheatre (June 10).
Why you should go: Joni Mitchell might be playing only one date next year but you should move heaven and earth to try and make it. Why? The last time she held a full concert was 23 years ago and it’s unlikely she’s about to hit the road for even a handful more dates at this point, so it could be your only chance to see the bonafide legend live.
Pet Shop Boys
Dates announced: The UK and European tour runs from June to July.
Why you should go: This is Pet Shop Boys ’ ‘Dreamworld – The Greatest Hits Live’ tour so you’re basically assured that you’re going to hear all of the biggest and best songs in their inimitable arsenal.
Dates announced: London, Finsbury Park (June 23)
Why you should go: It’s Jamie T ’s biggest headline show to date and bound to be an absolute riot. This is an artist who can do indie disco bangers, poignant, softer (if booze-soaked) cuts, and everything in between and make it seem effortless.
The Weeknd
Dates announced: UK and Europe tour begins in June before covering Latin America.
Why you should go: This huge stadium tour will cover both of The Weeknd ’s two latest albums – ‘After Hours’ and ‘Dawn FM’ – taking you inside the sci-fi-tinged world of both masterpieces.
Dates announced: Stormzy will take over one day of London’s All Points East, curating a special ‘This Is What We Mean Day’.
Why you should go: The whole day will be Stormzy’s vision – something he’s already proved countless times is a great thing. The line-up has yet to be announced but expect to discover exhilarating new talent, big names making surprise appearances and, of course, it all to be topped off by a headline set from Big Mike himself.
The Postal Service & Death Cab For Cutie
Dates announced: US tour kicks off September 8
Why you should go: Ben Gibbard is pulling double duty on the tour, fronting both The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie . The tour itself is a celebration of two albums – the former’s ‘Give Up’ and the latter’s ‘Transatlanticism’, and you’ll get to see both played in full. What more could you ask for?

5 brilliant up-and-coming bands you need to check out this month
From Californian hardcore heroes Scowl to Icelandic post-punks Kaelan Mikla and Brazilian black metal brutes Vauruva, these are the 5 new bands you need to check out this month
We hit the ground running with new metal releases this year, the likes of VV , Obituary, Avatar and In Flames showing the scene is in stunning form right now. It's not just fan favourites and big names that make metal so brilliant in 2023, however: there's also an incredibly healthy offering of up-and-coming talent to discover.
Each month, we scour the world of rock, metal, punk and beyond to find the very best and most exciting bands you need to know about. Last month we asked you to weigh in and tell us which new band excited you most, and the results are in - deathcore heavies She Must Burn taking the top spot in our January poll.
But who'll take top spot in February? It's a diverse offering again, with everything from Californian hardcore to Icelandic post-punk, but we're sure we've unearthed some gems that may yet enter your regular listening diet. So let us know which band interests you most in the vote below - and check out our updated new bands playlist at the bottom of the page.
Kaelan Mikla
Mirroring the frozen, sacred landscapes of their home in Iceland, Kælan Mikla are simultaneously bewitching and brutal. The band’s name has similarly glacial origins, and comes from the Icelandic translation of ‘The Lady Of The Cold’, a winter spirit who appears in Moomins.
“If you look into her eyes, you freeze to death,” explains synth player Sólveig Matthildur Kristjánsdóttir. “The character is like a children’s femme fatale, and we relate to that a lot.”
Growing up in an isolated country, Kælan Mikla often had only nature and the fairytales and folklore of their homeland to turn to for inspiration, singing stories in their native tongue about wishing stones and cunning elves, among other magical entities.
“We just played in the countryside, heard stories and sang songs,” Sólveig says. “I always feel like the elves are a metaphor for nature because they’re very dangerous, but very beautiful.”

Since forming in 2013, the trio – completed by bassist Margrét Rósa Dóru Harrýsdóttir and vocalist Laufey Soffía – have taken their sonic spells around the globe. Favourites of The Cure’s Robert Smith, Kælan Mikla favour a fervent gothic sound, driven by atmospheric synth, haunting melodies and pensive lyrics lifted from old poetry notebooks, and the bleakness of black metal.
In turn, Kælan Mikla were invited to support The Cure at their 40th anniversary show, and were handpicked by Smith to play at Meltdown festival in 2018. They’ve also played alongside bands as diverse as Alcest, Placebo, Pixies and Deftones. They’re currently touring Europe and the UK as special guests to goth icon Ville Valo.
“We’re definitely a live band,” says Sólveig. “We put so much effort into our performance, I’m very proud of that aspect. We emphasise the visual arts and spend about an hour backstage putting on make-up and dresses that are always well thought out. We’re like three witches screaming in your face.” Liz Scarlett
Kælan Mikla are on tour with VV in March.

Scowl are the most exciting new hardcore band going. With just two EPs and a debut – complete with atypical, cartoonish sleeve art – the Californians have taken their scene-smashing sound around the world, their stage-breaking live shows even seeing them open for Limp Bizkit at Madison Square Garden. A monumental achievement, but not one they ever planned for.
“I’ve never played in a band before,” confesses vocalist Kat Moss. “Malachi [Greene, guitar] learned guitar just to write Scowl songs. When we started we just wanted to play local shows… opening for Limp Bizkit was never in the conversation!”
What Scowl lacked in technical proficiency, they “made up for in creativity”, Kat says. Bloodhound , the 90-second opener of debut album How Flowers Grow , charges forward with wild abandon, propelled by Kat’s confrontational snarl, while the title track is all sun-kissed Californian summer, Kat switching gears to an emotive croon like a gender-flipped hardcore Mike Patton.
Rejecting preconceptions is immensely important to Kat, who cites My Chemical Romance as a formative inspiration. Her band share MCR’s penchant for connecting with the disenfranchised, their lyrics frequently confronting issues of mental health.
“I have faced a lot of depression and anxiety,” she says. “Our EP Reality After Reality was written in a time where I couldn’t get out of bed. Even talking about it now, shame wells up, but that’s why I push myself. Because when I was a kid, bands like My Chemical Romance had these vulnerable lyrics that gave me something to relate to, which is so powerful… vulnerability is so powerful.” Will Marshall

“Nature provides the truth I need to live on – it sustains me, mentally and physically,” says Bruno Augusto Ribeiro. The two albums that the black metal vocalist has made with countryman Caio Lemos as Vauruvã place this life-saving ethos at their pulverising core.
The Blakean gateways to the mythical realms of the imagination are Vauruvã’s escape from the brutalities of an informationsaturated and pollutant-intoxicated age, a malaise exacerbated by the destruction wrought by Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil’s ex-president, on their country. Multi-instrumentalist Caio sees the need for a musical sanctuary as critical.
“I’m an inveterate pessimist, or maybe a frustrated optimist,” he explains. “I want to be more positive, because life already throws up so much suffering. Vauruvã is an idyllic refuge.”
Secreted within Vauruvã’s dichotomies of hope and despair, beauty and brutality, Caio hints towards the experimental tendencies of his other projects, the avant-garde post metal of Bríi and the folky Kaatayra. Tropical rhythmic phantoms, Brazilian folk intermezzos and local field recordings all penetrate Vauruvã’s ambitious chaotic metal flux, imbuing the music with its regional feel.
“How could it be any different?” asks Caio. “This is the culture I inhabit and love. It’s all there – all the patterns and harmonies – buried in the unconscious and being cast out, even if it is hidden behind a great big wall of noise.” Spencer Grady

Google 'Undeath' you’ll get a host of headlines declaring the same thing: that this band are making death metal fun again. “We’ve never tried to posture as a tough band, because we’re not,” lead singer Alex Jones tells us. “We’re a bunch of fucking dorks.”
The geekery shines through on their second album, It’s Time… To Rise From The Grave . Its songs combine relentless drums and low-fretboard tremolo picking with hummable yet roaring hooks. This is metal you’d mosh and scream along to at the dingiest dive bar.
“I love Autopsy, Bolt Thrower and Cannibal Corpse so much that I’d never tell you, ‘Don’t listen to them, listen to my band instead,’” Alex laughs. “But we’re drawing influence from what we love while adding our own spin to it.”
Undeath rampaged their way across the UK in January, co-headlining a run with fellow death metal revivalists Celestial Sanctuary. Alex promises, “Our sets are very aggressive and very fun. I want people to walk away from our shows either wasted or determined to start their own band.” Matt Mills

Astriferous
Operating at death metal’s outer fringes since 2018, Costa Rican entity Astriferous are clawing their way ever closer to our pitiful ream with their brilliant debut album, Pulsations From The Black Orb .
If the title sounds nuts then it is (check out the wonderful, abomination-filled artwork, when you have a moment…) but it’s also deeply fitting, since the band weigh their fondness for old-school Finnish and Floridian death metal against a variety of cosmic horrors and an interest in the work of outlier creators like David Lynch, Maya Deren, Kenneth Anger and Austin Osman Spare.
“The songs deal with different subjects from cosmic horror, existentialism and magick to cinema and even video game lore,” says guitarist/vocalist Felipe Tencio. And as for that title? “It comes from a recurring dream I used to have about a floating, gigantic black orb in the sky that emitted pulsating vibrations,” he says.
For all its slobbering, oozing brutality the album isn’t without a certain deftness of touch, and Astriferous prove adept at steeping things in a sour, discomforting atmosphere. “We always try to incorporate ambience, particularly in the intros” says Felipe. “It contributes to that feeling of strangeness and unease and hints at what's to come.”
With Astriferous sharing members with feted death-doom act Bloodsoaked Necrovoid, it seems reasonable to ask whether the two bands operate in isolation or represent the tip of the spear when it comes to Costa Rican metal.
“Our local scene is witnessing a good moment in terms of quality and variety” says Felipe, who tips his hat to the likes of VoidOath, Culto Negro, Pazuzu and the long-running Pseudostratiffied Epithelium.
“Our vision has always been to contribute something to the genre,” he concludes. “We recognise death metal as a global movement and a network of people that share the same passion, so we wanted to raise our hand and show the world our version of it.” Alex Deller

Six Reasons Why Going To Gigs Alone Is The Best
So you want to go see that metalcore band you love but none of your friends like that “shouty” music? Or you REALLY want to go check out that new artist on TikTok you discovered but all your mates won’t go to a gig where they only know one song? Or worse, your group of friends cannot get themselves organized and work out which show and when to go on a tour, so you’re worried you’ll miss out on tickets. Let them be miserable and start living your best life by going to concerts by yourself. Trust us, it’ll be the best thing you’ll ever do!
Going to gigs alone can be daunting. What am I going to do with myself in between sets? Are people going to think I’m weird? Why would I not want to share the experience?
Listen, we are all for sharing the experience, but sometimes it’s either missing out or going alone, and in those cases we definitely recommend going alone. Here’s a few reasons why you’ll never regret it once you build up the courage to go through with it.
1 . See artists you really REALLY want to see
Imagine the FOMO of missing your favourite band on their new tour, hearing all those new songs live, seeing everyone post about it. Don’t let that happen, and get that ticket. Plus you then get to tell the pals who didn’t want to come how you saw that band or artist before they blew up or how they played that one B-side track that everyone loves – now who has FOMO?
2. Meet new friends
It’s no secret that music brings people together. That moment when everyone’s favourite ballad hits and there’s not a dry eye in the building, you turn to your left or right and suddenly you bond with a stranger over your favourite song. For the metalheads, we also recommend mosh pits, follow the rules of the pit but what a way to make new friends!
3. The freedom
Now hear us out – but going to a gig alone means you can get to the venue when you want, you can go to the loos when you want, you can stand in line at the merch for hours and no one will ask if you’re sure you want to wait. And no one will drag you home when you want to wait after the show has finished and find every piece of confetti or ask for the setlist.
4 . It’s a cult
You are not alone in going to gigs by yourself, you’d probably be surprised by how many people do the same thing. Some fan groups even have entire sub cultures of going to gigs alone (shoutout to Frank Turner’s solo armada, we see you!) – bringing us back to reason #2, new friends.
5. Confidence boost
Going to a gig by yourself will do wonders for your confidence. Sure the first time might feel a bit awkward and weird, but isn’t it always? Remember your first day of school? And then it was kind of okay after a while (let’s ignore our teenage years…) Once you’ve done it and experience all of the divinity of a solo gig you’ll feel free as a bird.
6. Experience the music your way
Whether you love hanging out by the bar, need to be front row, prefer seats or want to leave a bit earlier to catch the last train – the world is your oyster! The experience is yours, you don’t need to coordinate with someone else, rely on them to enjoy the show as much as you are and have as much of a good time as you are. And frankly, if you took a chance on a new genre or new artist and it isn’t your vibe, you can just go home. Glorious.
So there you have it – doesn’t sound too bad now does it?! At the end of the day it all comes down to you and your artist, a concert will always be a shared experience whether with strangers or friends. The most important thing to do is have fun.
Your next gig awaits
It all starts here.
Create memories to last a lifetime
Whether it’s your favourite band, an evening with friends, discovering new artists or the seventh show on the tour, we are your go-to home for all things live music.
Don’t miss out on the biggest announcement and keep checking back for latest news and last chance tickets.

Pink’s high-flying spectacle Wednesday night is home run for record Comerica Park crowd
Pink took more than 45,000 fans on a two-hour pop roller-coaster ride Wednesday night, notching a ballpark attendance record as she did it.
Her whirling, twirling barrage of rock-edged hits was the latest stop on her Summer Carnival tour, an outing that has taken her arena-honed stagecraft to stadiums worldwide.
On a lovely summer night downtown, Pink staged her first-ever Detroit stadium show and her first concert here since a Little Caesars Arena doubleheader in 2019 . With her sellout crowd of 45,000-plus, she set a benchmark for the biggest reserved-seat attendance in the ballpark’s 23-year history, besting acts such as the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel and Elton John.
Appearing in a filmed, Max Headroom-style video segment before taking the stage, Pink promised “a cornucopia of pleasures.” For the multigenerational audience packing the Tigers’ house, she certainly delivered.
It was an entertaining, often exhilarating swirl of aerial stunts, whimsical oversized stage props, cinematic dance numbers and barrages of neon and Day-Glo — a tricked-out show from an artist with a likable, unpretentious presence. Pink is a polished, stage-commanding performer who would just happen to be the chatty life of the party at your suburban backyard cookout.
Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.
She’s also the rare pop artist who has scaled new heights even as she has arrived in her 40s, now more than two decades removed from the young act who broke through alongside turn-of-the-millennium peers such as Christina Aguilera and ‘N Sync.
The show’s first act was a breathless 25-minute run through some of the 43-year-old pop star’s biggest smashes and most infectious hooks: “Get the Party Started,” “Raise Your Glass,” “Who Knew,” “Just Like a Pill,” Try,” “What About Us.”
But the well of hits was far from dry, and Wednesday’s show kept them coming up through the dazzling finale, when “So What” found the harnessed singer hurtling around the ballpark at perhaps 100 feet overhead. It was high enough that folks who’d been listening from the roof of the nearby Detroit Athletic Club at last got a chance to glimpse the airborne star.
Opener Brandi Carlile described Pink as “the hardest working woman in show business,” and the headliner did her best to live up to that billing in a vigorous, sweaty affair that began with a high-wire bungee entrance.
“Please enjoy this makeup for about half another song,” Pink told the crowd early in her set.
The show’s few low-key moments came with their own rewards, including a largely acoustic third act that included a poignant “When I Get There” and a cute cameo from Pink’s 12-year-old daughter, Willow, who joined in on her mom’s homemade pandemic song “Cover Me in Sunshine.”
Pink took to a grand piano to lend her hearty vocals to a rendition of Bob Dylan’s latter-day classic “Make You Feel My Love,” soon turning up the heat as she morphed her guitar-driven “Just Like Fire” into a searing cover of Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker.”
The set also featured a rarity: an acoustic performance of 2001’s “Don’t Let Me Get Me.”
“Trustfall” — a bounding song accompanied by eye-catching trampoline stunts from her athletic backing troupe — was a highlight among the several songs plucked from her February album of the same name, while the warmly melodic “Last Call” was a stealth winner during the encore. But it was “Never Gonna Not Dance Again,” an effervescent, funk-gilded anthem, that truly stood out among the newer stuff, providing a potent punctuation mark to close the regular set.
Carlile, playing her first Detroit show in seven years, opened the evening with a dependably rich, emotionally textured set that only made you hope she gets back here for a full headlining concert sooner than later.

Taylor Swift is wrapping up her European ‘Eras Tour’ shows. When are the singer’s Miami concerts?
Floridian Swifties have less than two months to grab a nice dress and stare off into the sunset with Taylor Swift .
With her six-night stint at Wembley Arena in London coming to an end on Tuesday, Aug. 20 , the singer will be officially done with the European section of " The Eras Tour " and will soon prepare for her next stop — Miami.

Where is hard rock stadium in miami.
Hard Rock Stadium actually is not in Miami. It's at 347 Don Shula Drive Suite 102, Miami Gardens, and will be the site of Taylor Swift’s Florida concert in 2024.
The last time Swift performed at Hard Rock Stadium was on her 2018 Reputation Tour.
Can I still purchase tickets for the Taylor Swift shows in Florida?
Tickets to all three of the Miami dates for Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” sold out via Ticketmaster back in September . However, resale tickets are available via StubHub and SeatGeek .
However, beware as a majority of these tickets are sold by scalpers above face value, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 for seats. For example, one of the cheapest set of tickets on StubHub for Miami's Oct. 18 date is $1,915 per ticket for a "limited, obstructed" view.

Locals also note to bring cash since parking can be found in surrounding neighborhoods and businesses in the area.

When planning your outfit for the concert, make sure to take the weather into account.
AccuWeather experts said back in spring that daytime temperatures in Miami typically get up in the mid-80's in October, with evening temperature dropping to the upper 70's. They also noted that it's still a rainy month for the state with tropical systems forming, seeing anywhere from 7 to 7½ inches of rainfall.

Taylor Swift performed in Florida for Eras Tour 2023. What were Tampa’s surprise songs?
Speaking of the Tampa shows, throughout the Eras Tour Swift has performed two songs, usually album deep cuts, not on her setlist at each show. She has brought out collaborators like Aaron Dresner, Jack Antonoff and Marcus Mumford to join her on the stage.
Here are the surprise songs she performed in Tampa:
- Thursday, April 13: “Speak now” and “Treacherous”

- Saturday, April 15: “Mad Woman” and “Mean”
Who is Taylor Swift headliner Gracie Abrams?
Abrams, 23, is a singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California, and is the daughter of director J.J. Abrams.
She saw critical acclaim for her first two EPs — “This is What It Feels Like" and "Minor" — as well her 2023 debut album "Good Riddance" and 2024 sophomore album "The Secret of Us." Prior to Swift, she opened up for fellow artist Olivia Rodrigo on her debut Sour tour.
Swift has had an eventful summer. See Vienna cancelations, potential political endorsements
August is seemingly slipping away into a moment in time , especially for Swift. The month has been eventful for the songstress.
Taylor Swift's Eras Tour shows in Vienna were canceled earlier this month following an alleged plot to attack the stadium. Three people were arrested for allegedly planning to attack Taylor Swift’s first concert.
According to officials and news reports, police arrested a 19-year-old Austrian who is accused of planning an attack at Ernst Happel Stadium with “bladed weapons” and the "construction of a bomb." A 17-year-old who would have been working at the stadium during Swift's concert was also arrested and a 15-year-old was questioned by police.
Swift nor her team addresses the cancelations or the alleged attack. She went on to perform her six sold out shows in London a week later.
In other news for the popstar, both U.S. presidential candidates are eying her prized endorsement. After Swift posted to Instagram last fall to remind her followers to vote, a record of more than 30,000 people signed up through Vote.org during National Voter Registration Day. Many of the signups were in Florida, according to USA TODAY.
Some have speculated Swift has shown her support for Vice President Kamala Harris at her concerts, with her fans starting "Swifties for Kamala" events. Former President Donald Trump has also tried to get her fans' attention , posting artificially generated images alluding to her alleged support on his social media platform Truth Social .

These will be The Weeknd ’s first stadium shows in Australia and his first visit since 2017. Special guests Mike Dean and Chxrry22, along with Australian DJ and vocalist, Anna Lunoe, will join him on all 2024 Australian dates.
However, fans in Brisbane and New Zealand, who were included in the cancelled 2023 tour, will be disappointed to learn that these locations are not part of the 2024 itinerary.
According to a statement from the tour’s press release: “Due to schedule and logistical constraints, the ‘After Hours ‘Til Dawn’ tour will not be making its way to New Zealand or Brisbane in 2024 and there will be no further cities added.”
This decision has sparked backlash on social media, with fans expressing frustration over their shows being dropped from the 2024 run.
One commenter noted on Reddit , “Not sure what logistical circumstances they’re trying to blame for not coming to Brisbane or even NZ. Suncorp Stadium literally has no event booked in October other than the Travis Scott show at the end of the month.” Another added, “Apparently it’s more logical to fly to Australia, fly back to the USA, fly back to Australia and then fly back again.”
Before announcing the 2024 Australian dates, The Weeknd performed numerous sold-out shows across the United States as part of the After Hours Til Dawn tour.
The U.S. leg included notable performances at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where he fans with a setlist featuring hits from After Hours and Dawn FM .
For 2023 ticket holders, a special ‘ Past Purchaser Presale ‘ will be available, offering the first opportunity to secure tickets for the upcoming Australian tour dates.
The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour has been a global success, with over 60 sold-out stadium dates and more than 3 million attendees across North America, Europe, the U.K., and Latin America. The tour has also broken attendance records, including a two-night run at London Stadium that drew 160,000 fans.
In other recent news, earlier this month it was revealed The Weeknd will return to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood on Sept. 5 with The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy , an immersive haunted house experience featuring music by The Weeknd and Mike Dean.
It follows the success of his 2022 After Hours Nightmare attraction, inspired by his Billboard 200-topping album After Hours .

'Dreams come true': Wave to Earth talks sold-out US tour, songwriting and band's identity
Following the release of their first studio album in April, Korean indie band wave to earth has been riding the swell of success toward a bright future.
On Friday, the band will embark on its first North American tour which includes many stops across the U.S. in such cities as Los Angeles and New York City.
The three members called this a dream come true and are eager to travel the States and perform for their fans. USA TODAY chatted with wave to earth ahead of their kickoff about music, international popularity and more.
Who is wave to earth?
Wave to earth is a three-member Korean indie band under WAVY . Comprised of guitarist/songwriter Daniel Kim, drummer Dongkyu Shin and bassist John Cha, the group debuted with the single " wave " in 2019, followed by EPs " wave 0.01 " and " summer flows 0.02 " in 2020. While there are three official members, the band also includes session members Jo Jung-geun, Jeon-min and Hong Seung-gi.
Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.
Even though, wave to earth is based in Seoul, South Korea, most of their songs are in English.
Since their start, members have written, recorded, mixed and mastered their tracks. They are directly involved with art direction from album art and video to fashion.
When it comes to who they are, wave to earth is best represented through its name. "One day, I saw the biggest wave in my life, and I thought let's make a big wave with my friends," said Daniel.
That wave is now rising high as the band is achieving and reaching their goals, including touring in the U.S.
U.S. tour was a part of members' 'dreams'
In May, wave to earth announced their first tour in the U.S. and Canada. Initially, the tour had 12 dates. All shows sold out on the first day of ticket sales. This prompted the group to upgrade several venues and add new dates due to high demand – most of which have sold out again.
"Nobody expected we could sell shows," said John. "The first time we saw the shows are sold out, it felt surreal."
The tour also marks the first time the members are visiting the U.S. as a group, and they are excited to go to various parts of the country. "It was our dreams, and dreams come true," said John.
On the U.S. leg, wave to earth will make stops in 16 cities, including Chicago, Atlanta, Washington, and Berkeley, California.
At these performances, the band hopes to embody the themes of their music, in particular, love.
"We plan to showcase elements during our live performances that cannot be experienced from recorded music," said Dongkyu.
Creating '0.1 flaws and all'
Wave to earth released their first studio album on April 20. The 14-track album centers on love. In order to truly encompass this feeling, it took the members two years to prepare, they said.
"It took a lot of time to release our full-length album, but the sense of accomplishment and joy are equally immense," said Dongkyu.
As Daniel was writing " 0.1 flaws and all, " he wanted to focus on what best represented wave to earth, outside of others' perspectives. "I thought about what could be my real music," he said. "That led us to this album."
The band's identity is rooted in their sonic abilities, utilizing jazz and lo-fi tones which ultimately create a sound that is unique to them.
Going global with their music
Daniel said he chose to write most songs in English because he didn't want to limit the band's reach. When they first started, it wasn't common for Korean bands to write songs in English, said John. "But (Daniel) was saying, 'OK, we have to go globalize.'"
This perspective has benefitted wave to earth. The band now has over 5.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify , and most their listeners on the streaming service are international.
"We are continuously preparing to deliver more great music in the future," said Dongkyu. "So we ask for your continued interest and love."
Growing and learning through the years
Through each experience, the members have grown closer, especially while writing their first album.
John said his artistic outlook and emotions have adapted over the years. "Everything, just how I look through my life, those kinds of things just changed," he said.
Throughout wave to earth resonates a humble mentality. No matter what the future holds for them, the members want to continue to make music together.
"Doing music is my whole goal," said John. "If we could maintain the process of making music and just being with these guys, that's all for me."
