Our tour departs Friday evening from Sydney’s Central Station, Western Forecourt Coach Area at 4:30pm; Canberra, Jolimont Centre at 9:30pm and return late Sunday night. At present, Thredbo lift passes will need to be purchased directly from the mountain until further notice! • Day 1 – Friday The coach will collect you from your previously selected pick up point and start the ride down to The Snowy Mountains. There will be a scheduled stop for dinner on the highway at your own expense. Arrive at Snowy Valley is 12am (midnight). Upon arrival at Snowy Valley, you will collect the gear, before being transferred to your accommodation for the remainder of your stay.
• Day 2 – Saturday Breakfast is served from7.30am; we suggest you get in early to make the most of the slopes. You have a whole day free to ski. We invite you for drinks, food, and entertainment at River Inn Beer Garden at your own expense. Complementary dinner will be served between 6 – 8pm.
• Day 3 – Sunday Breakfast is again served from 7.30am. You will need to check out of your rooms before 10am; however, a luggage storage room will be available for your use throughout the day. Meet at reception at 3pm and we will transfer you to the coach which goes via the Snowy Valley where you can return any hire gear. We will then depart Snowy Valley stopping for dinner at your own expense. Arrive at Sydney Central around 11pM

All COVID-19 impacted bookings will receive a travel credit, if government imposed travel restrictions are in place at time of travel. Travel credits are redeemable within OZ Snow Australian, New Zealand and Japanese ski operations over the next 18 months. Please be aware there will be no refund given and you are booking travel during a pandemic.

AUSTRALIA – BUS TRIPS FAQ

Is there an age limit for this trip? Yes, everyone must be at least 15 years old to travel on our bus trips.

On the coach packages do we stop for dinner? Yes, we stop for dinner on the way to and from Sydney which is at your own expense.

Do I need to bring a towel? No, you are provided with one shower towel for your stay with us.

Does the bus have a toilet? Most of our buses have toilets.

What time does the bus leave Snowy Valley in the mornings? The bus leaves at 7.30am to Perisher. Our buses will go directly to Perisher Resort only.

Do you serve vegetarian meals? We have vegetarian options available at all included meals.

What time does the bus leave Perisher in the afternoons? The bus leaves around 5.00pm

What kind of clothes should I bring? Something that will keep you warm and is comfortable for during the day and casual going out clothes for the nights as there is a bar onsite.

How many people are in the rooms? The share rooms are mostly 4 – 7 share. We have larger rooms for groups and you can also upgrade to be in your own room.

How much luggage can I bring? You will be travelling on a full size coach so you can bring one large luggage and a ski/snowboard bag if you have it.

Do you go to Thredbo or Perisher? We offer a daily mountain shuttle from Snowy Valley Resort to Perisher ONLY. Thredbo is only available when booking ski-in, ski-out accommodation at River Inn Thredbo.

Are lift passes included? No, all lift passes are purchased on the bus via your tour guide.

What is a lift pass? A lift pass allows you to get onto the chair lifts which takes you to the top of the mountain so you can ski down.

What does Ski or Snowboard hire include? Ski hire includes standard skis, poles, and boots Snowboard hire includes standard snowboard, bindings and boots.

What do lessons include? If you purchase lessons with your lift ticket you will get 2x 2hr group beginner lesson on your first day.

Do I have to purchase the OZ Snow Pack? No, if you have your own gear and/or season lift passes you are more than welcome to bring them along.

What time does the bus get back to Sydney / Canberra? The bus gets back to Canberra Jollimont Centre around 8.00pm and Sydney Central Station around 11.30pm depending on road conditions.

Can I buy lift passes and gear when I book my trip? Lift passes, hire gear or additional items can only be purchased/hired on the bus via your tour guide. Lift Passes available for Perisher ONLY

Do I need to go on the bus? Yes, since you are booking a bus trip you must be on the bus to purchase lift pass or receive inclusions. We have self-drive packages if you wish to drive yourself.

When do I need to book by? The tours usually fill up 2 weeks before the departure date* Depending on the snow forecast this can change and trips can be booked out for weeks in advance.

Are the rooms female and male only? No, all our rooms are mixed with females and males in the same room.

Can you drink on the bus? Yes, you can bring drinks if you would like to – the bus will not be stopping at the bottle shop anymore.

Collected from your home/ hotel and returned to home/hotel in our air conditioned bus. Dropped off at Ski tube Bullocks Flat so you to catch the train for short journey to Perisher Valley. Spend the day in the snow at your leisure.

After a day in the snow, you will be collected from Ski Tube Bullocks Flat at the agreed time. You will be returned to Canberra Hotel for a meal. Or alternatively taken to a local restaurant of your choice. This meal is at your own cost. If  you decide to take a meal in Jindabyne then Shire Shuttle Bus will provide transport to Jindabyne and wait for your group to finish,  then  transport  your  group to the Canberra Hotel.

Thredbo Snow Tour from Sydney Itinerary

Featuring Australia’s longest ski run and a vibrant alpine village, Thredbo is without a doubt the country’s premier winter destination. Set deep within Kosciuszko National Park, this soaring mountain range reaches an altitude of 1930-metres with the conditions perfect for beginners and expert winter enthusiasts alike.

Just because you’re staying in Sydney , doesn’t mean you’re too far away. Our special one-day tour from the city to Thredbo provides a convenient way to experience all of the mountain’s glory within one jam-packed adventure. Board our comfortable bus as we make our getaway from Sydney late in the evening. Recline your seats and get some much-needed sleep as we cruise down the highway and deep into the spectacular Snowy Mountains region.

As the sun starts to peek over the horizon, we’ll take a quick rest in the lakefront town of Jindabyne for biscuits and hot coffee. There’s also an opportunity to visit a winter sports superstore to rent some discounted snow gear to take on our journey. After making the final part of the journey, we’ll reach Thredbo and spend the next 7.5 hours skiing and snowboarding our way throughout the mountainous landscape.

Across 480 hectares of pristine snow, many of Australia’s most exciting runs and terrain parks can be found here. There’s also the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift, which operates throughout the year and gives access to Australia’s highest-altitude restaurant known as the Eagles Nest. Meanwhile, make sure you leave some time to get off the slopes and explore the alpine village with its great selection of bars, shopping boutiques and places to eat.

No doubt feeling a little tired after our great day out in the snow, we’ll depart Thredbo at 3:00pm. On our drive back to Sydney, we’ll take a 40-minute break for dinner before eventually arriving back at Haymarket by approximately 9:45pm. Quite possibly Australia’s most internationally renowned alpine destination, Thredbo is a magical place to visit during the colder months. And with it being surprisingly easy to get to from the city, there’s no reason not to come and experience this bustling winter wonderland.

Travel on Brighton Coach for a snowy winter adventure with our 1 Day Thredbo Snow Tour , travelling from Sydney to the Snowy Mountains overnight.

Set off at night on a comfortable coach (picking up from Sydney CBD and Parramatta), boasting reclining seats to help you grab a few hours of sleep before you hit the slopes. We will arrive the next day in Cooma or Jindabyne at approx. 6am with plenty time to have breakfast and rent your snow gear before hitting the slopes.

From there it’s a short drive to Thredbo Resort, once arriving you’ll have 7 hours of free time to explore the village and ski or snowboard. We will head back to Sydney at 3pm with a dinner stop enroute before disembarking at around 10pm.

Tour Itinerary

11:30pm – Departs Sydney, driving overnight to the Snowy Mountains. 5:30am – Arrive at Cooma/Jindabyne, hire your snow equipment and gear at a discounted price. 8:00am – Arrive at Thredbo Resort, you’ll have a full 7 hours of free time to ski, snowboard, and explore. 3:00pm – Departs Thredbo Resort, kick back and relax on the ride home. There will be a stopover for dinner on the way back. 10pm – Arrive back in Sydney.

This tour departs every Friday night and Saturday night at 11:30PM during the 2024 Winter snow season (June – October).

For the July school holidays, an extended timetable will be running with departures most day from July 7- July 19.
