I paid 132 euro each for the best view. BIG MISTAKE.

No seats and the the area was overcrowded. Stewards were useless. Lots of people without Front Stage Passes came into the area which meant we had a very poor view.

Police refused us access to disabled parking even though we showed them the badge so we had to park at the Miramar and get a taxi. When we were drooped off we were next to the disabled parking where there were still spaces available. No doubt being saved for friends of the police.

We could not see the support act as they were not on the stage but performed at the far side of the venue. We could not leave our position or we would have had no view at all for the main show.

The main show was due to start at 10pm but started at 10.25. We were told by Rod Stewart he would play for 2 hours. The show ended at 12.05 !

Our friends who paid 85 euros for seats fared little better being surrounded by noisy drunks who the stewards refused to deal with.

When you promote an artist who is over 70 you should realise his fans are the same age and the facilities were woeful. Standing for over 4 hours is unacceptable.

Took my daughter for her birthday absolutely amazing show we danced all night. Well worth the aches this morning. Rod sang all his old ones and a few new ones and really got the crowd singing along.

I would definitely recommend to go see him before he stops touring although I don’t think he will. The only bad point which will have nothing to do with rod himself was that leaving the carpark was horrendous. Not very carefully thought out at all badly organised. It took us an hr and 40 minutes just to get a few yards out of the car park and on to the road. Great night though wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

This was amazing! A true honour to see Rod in full flight. It was the first night of a 5 month tour and there were a few minor technical glitches but Rod, as the charismatic entertainer he is managed to make a joke about them and and make the audience feel like we were all participating in the show together. He made relatively large stadium feel like a small intimate gig. At 74 I dare say he doesn't have the physical stamina of a Bruce Springsteen but it balances this out by giving plenty of time for solos and individual performances to his incredible band. This was a well crafted show that had the entire audience on their feet dancing by the end. Will definitely see him again if I get the opportunity!

Rod Stewart Postpones Two More Concerts, Days After Canceling 200th Las Vegas Show

Rod Stewart has had to postpone two more concerts, days after canceling his 200th show in Las Vegas.

The legendary singer shared on Instagram Friday, "We regret to announce that tonight's Rod Stewart's concert in Stateline, NV and his August 10 concert in Lincoln, CA have been postponed as the singer recovers from a summer strain of COVID-19."

He added that the two impacted shows on his North American tour have been rescheduled for Aug. 20 and Aug. 18, respectively. "Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled shows," his statement concluded.

Earlier this week, Stewart canceled his Aug. 7 performance for his Las Vegas residency, The Hits, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace - which would have been the 200th show of his 13-year residency at the venue - due to strep throat.

"I'm desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me," he wrote on Instagram at the time. "I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused."

The Las Vegas performance was set to close out the singer's residency, which initially launched in 2011, before he headed out on his 2024 North American tour. But Stewart announced on Wednesday the residency will "now be returning in 2025" for The Encore Shows.

His 2024 North American tour is scheduled to run through Sept. 15 before he makes his way to Europe for a handful of shows. Stewart's new Las Vegas residency is set to kick off in March next year.

Stewart canceled his Aug. 7 show for his Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace earlier this week after getting sick with strep throat.

It would have been his residency’s 200th show.

“Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me,” he wrote in a post. “I’m absolutely gutted.”

“I’ve been looking forward to his concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused.”

He confirmed that he will be back to perform at The Colosseum in 2025.

Stewart has mused about the inevitable end recently.

“I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear,” he said to the US Sun. “We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket.”

“I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can,” he added.

“I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.”

Stewart’s North American tour has a handful of shows scheduled through September.

Rod stewart, 79, cancels 200th las vegas residency show due to illness: ‘i’m absolutely gutted’.

Rod Stewart in June 2024.

A sore way to go out.

Rod Stewart has canceled what was supposed to be his 200th show of his Las Vegas residency after contracting strep throat.

Stewart, 79, was set to take the stage at Caesars Palace on Wednesday, August 7, to cap off a 13-year run playing at the iconic Vegas venue.

The rocker revealed the news to his fans via social media.

Rod Steward apologies to fans after canceling his 200th show at his Vegas residency.

“I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration,” Stewart wrote in a statement he posted on Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday.

“Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me,” he added. “I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long.”

“My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused,” he continued. “Thankfully we’ll now be returning in 20225 and I hope to see you all there.”

Hours before announcing the cancellation, Stewart revealed that the residency wasn’t ending.

Captioning an Instagram reel of highlights from his residency, the iconic singer wrote , “Vegas, I’m having too much fun for this to end so we are coming back for an encore!”

“Don’t miss The Encore Shows Las Vegas Residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace March 12-22 & May 29-June 8! Tickets on sale Monday at 10amPT!”

Though the singer’s Vegas stint was supposed to go on hiatus after the 200th show, Stewart still has more concerts ahead. He’s slated to perform at Harvey’s in Lake Tahoe on Friday, August 9, and at Thunder Valley Casino Resort on the outskirts of Sacramento in Lincoln, California, on Saturday, August 10.

Rod Stewart performs on stage during his One Last Time concert at Royal Arena Copenhagen, Denmark June 9, 2024.

Tickets for both shows are still on sale.

The box office for Stewart’s Friday night show at Lake Tahoe’s Outdoor Arena at Harveys told The Post that the show was still scheduled.

A rep from Thunder Valley Casino, where Stewart is set to perform on Saturday night, told The Post “he hasn’t canceled.” They added that they know he is sick and are in contact with his team.

The Post has reached out to a rep for Stewart.

Sir Rod Stewart attends Mark's Club 50th Anniversary Party on November 24, 2022 in London.

The rock star has previously spoken about how long he can continue to perform live. Speaking with The Sun in July, Stewart said, “I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear.”

“We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket,” he added. “I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.”

Rod Stewart celebrates the 1 Year anniversary of Wolfie's Whisky on August 03, 2024.

But he admitted some things have changed over the years.

“I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s and I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that,” he continued.

“Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show. The older you get, the more you have to do that. Water has a hell of a lot to do with it.”

Comparing his past hard-partying ways with how he lives now, he said, “But no, you think I just have water on my rider? You’re talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show. There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians and I make them drink. We absolutely love it.”

Fury as disabled fans left ‘completely blocked’ at £300 Adele concert

Fans of Adele are furious after their £300 Munich concert tickets left them with ‘awful’ views of the stage – while one disabled gig-goer called it the ‘worst experience of her life’.

The 36-year-old superstar, who recently confirmed her engagement to Rich Paul, is performing her sell-out show in Germany for an entire month, with 10 shows across August .

Tickets were highly sought after, selling for around 300€ (£250) to 400€ (£340) with an option to upgrade to a VIP ticket with afterparty access for a cool 797.50€ (£682).

But despite initial excitement, fans have expressed disappointment at the gigs due to incredibly poor visibility.

Videos emerged of people standing on chairs in the seated sections just to catch a glimpse of the Chasing Pavements hitmaker performing.

Additional concerns have been raised by disabled fans, with wheelchair users complaining about accessibility to the purpose-built Messe München arena .

Adele performs on stage during Munich gig, dressed in velvet blue gown, smiling as she holds microphone up. Guitarist is seen in background.

Gig-goer Annabel racked up over 1.4million views after sharing her experience on TikTok, stating she was in section B5 where all you could see was other people’s heads.

‘Same in B14,’ shared Leah Adelmann, while user8956310274317 added: ‘I was A11 too, I just sat down at one point as I couldn’t see the screens because of everyone standing on their chairs 😡.’

Jack Mountford also commented on the video: ‘Honestly, I was in A11 and it was an absolute joke. Paid all that money to barely be able to see anything due to people standing on the chairs majority of the time😡.’

It seems fans who climbed onto their chairs for a better view sparked a chain reaction of people being forced to step up in order to see.

Some commenters did point out that at other gigs, security were banning people from doing this and that Adele had addressed the crowd requesting they stay seated.

For many used to standing gigs, especially those who are shorter, this kind of view is no surprise as shoulders and backs are part of the deal.

User LJMS pointed out: ‘Honestly every show by Adele outside of Vegas is like this. Specially cause she doesn’t move from the same spot. (sic)’

It’s not just able-bodied fans who were struggling either as Nina Frenchy shared her experience on X, having been to the gig for her birthday.

Also, all the stands (foods, Beverage, merch) have big stones in front. How I’m supposed to go through that with a wheelchair? Look how my sis had to push me from the front as I was completely blocked #AdeleInMunich #AdeleMunich @AdeleAccess pic.twitter.com/2aoweOzqOV — N i n a 🥀🪐 (@nina_frenchy) August 9, 2024

She called it the ‘Worst experience of [her] life’ and claimed there was little to no thought put in for accessibility requirements.

‘The organization to get a taxi after the concert was absolutely HORRIBLE,’ Nina wrote. ‘They did not even think about a way out for disabled people in a wheelchair or crutch, I had to drive over big stones and narrow space full of people.’

In another tweet, she added: ‘Also, all the stands (foods, beverages, merch) have big stones in front. How I’m supposed to go through that with a wheelchair? Look how my sis had to push me from the front as I was completely blocked.’

The Adele fan posted a video of herself being pushed over stones by her sister but did give the security guards a shout-out for their support.

Adele performs on stage during Munich gig, dressed in velvet blue gown, as she holds microphone up to sing.

Adele, who admitted she hates being famous, struggled on the first night as she suffered a wardrobe malfunction after torrential rain hit the show.

She deftly removed her huge train and continued with the increasingly soggy gig for an unforgettable opening show.

The Hello icon will perform on Fridays and Saturdays at the arena every week in August, wrapping on Saturday, August 31.

Kaliningrad, Baltics & Belarus Combo Tour

print

In this combo, retrace the history of the 20th century in region of Europe that would definetely gain to be more known: the Baltics, Europe’s Russian Exclave and the lesser seen side of the Chernobyl Catastrophe! YPT heads to a place infamously known as the ‘most militarized zone in Europe’ and home to the formidable Russian Baltic Sea Fleet: the exclave of Kaliningrad. The area is shrouded in secrecy. Being a closed Soviet military region for decades and still laced with nuclear missiles, warships and tanks tends to have that effect.

Formerly the city German city of Konigsberg, in the dying embers of WW2 after days of violent urban warfare the city was captured by Soviet forces who annexed the region. Konigsberg is one of the few places where you can see the remains of the Third Reich and the Soviet Union on top of each other. Post WW2, the territory was a strictly sealed off and forbidden military zone throughout the Soviet period.

We will bring you through the highlights of this fascinating Russian exclave. You’ll have the chance to explore Nazi command bunkers, Soviet nuclear submarines, the former frontline of the desperate German defense to hold the city, Prussian forts, natural wonders and forbidden military cities! As always, YPT’s extensive contacts in the region will allow us to gain access to areas most people can’t go!

After that, we will then proceed to visit the three countries of the Baltics, sitting on the fence between Europe and Russia. The modern day Baltics are a blend of various cultures and dark history, exploring the Baltic countries provides countless, unique opportunities for adventure. This year, YPT bring you the Soviet Baltics tour. An action packed and in depth road trip which kicks off in Lithuania and takes us through four countries in just over a week. We will be exploring Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and a spend a day over in Finland. In between we will explore the remains of the Soviet occupation of the Baltics, undergo Lithuania’s infamous Soviet bunker survival experience, drive tanks and Soviet army trucks, fire Kalashnikovs, discover the Latvian Chernobyl and its secret Soviet satellite bases, and much more!

During the world’s worst nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986, Belarus, lying 16km from Chernobyl was hit brutally hard by the catastrophic fallout. 66% of the territory of Belarus was contaminated with cesium-137. In response, the Belarussian government set up an exclusion zone around their contaminated territory for decades. Only now, they have decided to open it to those holding permits and accompanied by a representative from the Belarussian government.

Inside the exclusion zone is a treasure trove of Soviet artifacts and relics, from abandoned boats and factories to watchtowers and propaganda centres, this is an area truly trapped in 1986!

Join us for all three destinations or join for two of them!

Sunday 26th September – Kaliningrad

  • Arrival at your own leisure in Kaliningrad
  • We’ll then head out for our first dinner in Russia’s exclave in the middle of Europe
  • Isolated from Russia and surrounded by Lithuania and Poland, Kaliningrad inherited a distinct Teutonic culinary tradition that has always been different from that of the rest of Russia. You’ll have the chance to try some delicious local Zeppelins: giant balls of mashed potato stuffed with various fillings and drenched in cheese sauce or Zurek: a soup with eggs, sausage slices and spices, served in a bowl made of bread.
  • Overnight in Kaliningrad

Monday 27th September – Kaliningrad

  • After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will meet our English speaking local guide and tour the city.
  • Our first stop will be the Nazi command bunker museum, technically called the Blindage Museum, it tells the harrowing history of the last days of the Second World War. These are the last days of Königsberg and inside you can see how the city fell to Soviet Forces on the rampage of vengeance towards Berlin. Built by slave labour, the bunker’s gate that is made of thick steel wire and is covered in runic symbols. Supposedly meant to give supernatural defense to the German forces inside it.
  • We will then visit fort 5, part of a series of Prussian forts that were a significant part of the unrelenting Soviet assault. Now museums and still littered with war damage, artillery pieces and Soviet monuments dedicated to WW2.
  • After lunch, we will then have the rare chance to roam around significant piece of Cold War history. An excellently maintained Foxtrot-class Soviet nuclear submarine.
  • See an original Nazi Kreigsmarine ship. Vityaz is a research vessel that was built in 1939 and served with the Kriegsmarine during World War II until she was seized by the British in 1945.
  • We’ll check out the House of Soviets and see why the locals often refer to as the “buried robot”.
  • See Victory Square with its hulking Soviet monument and The Brandenburg Gate which is one of seven surviving city gates from the former German city of Königsberg.

Tuesday 28th September – Baltiysk/Svetliy/Kaliningrad

  • After breakfast we journey to Mother Russia’s westernmost edge!
  • Today we’ll be visiting the Heart of the Baltic fleet in the city Baltiysk. It is a huge Russian navy base located on the Baltic sea and has only been opened to foreigners since 1995, you have to get the special permission beforehand but YPT’s contacts in Kaliningrad can arrange this no problem.
  • On the way, we’ll explore some destroyed and abandoned German era buildings and a typical soviet town called Svetliy.
  • On arrival in the city we’ll be taking in sights such as the pentagonal Pillau Citadel, founded by the Swedes in 1626, completed by the Prussians in 1670, renovated in 1870 and currently holding an impressive naval museum.
  • We’ll visit the ruins of the 13th-century Lochstadt Castle; a maze of 19th-century naval fortifications; the Naval Cathedral of St. George the 32-metre Expressionist observation tower the Gothic Revival building of the Baltic Fleet Museum, and an elegant Lighthouse, dating from 1813. A stone cross, erected in 1830 to commemorate the supposed spot of St. Adalbert of Prague’s martyrdom, was destroyed by the Soviets and restored a millennium after the event, in 1997.
  • Return to Kaliningrad for an evening meal

Wednesday 29th September – Curonian spit/ Kaliningrad

  • After breakfast, we’ll travel to the Curonian spit.
  • It took several thousand years for the spit to shape out from the sands blown by the wind and dragged by the sea waves and to finally form a narrow sandy neck of land that separates the Curonian Gulf from the Baltic Sea and connects the Kaliningrad region with Lithuania. Its widest part is 3.8 km and the narrowest point is 400 m.
  • This place has no rivals in the world. Try to cross the spit from gulf to sea and you will notice how the landscape changes from a bare desert to a pine forest. The size of the Curonian spit is astonishing, it has no analogies in the world; its majestic scenery and the lavishness of the flora and fauna is simply amazing, varying from the taiga-like plants, mountain pines, and alder-trees to the tumbleweeds rolling in the deserts of the sand dunes rising up to 70 m high.
  • After a day of exploring we will return to Kaliningrad city for our last dinner in the enclave with celebrations to wish farewell to those who will leave us tomorrow.
  • Overnight in Kaliningrad.

You’ll dance to the music of the era and enjoy a Soviet dinner.

  • Many of the Soviet relics are still on display, from military paintings and murals to hammers and sickles, it really gives the impression of being lost in time.

Saturday 9th October – Minsk

  • We’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel before we check out and store our luggage in the baggage storage room.
  • Our first destination of the day will be the incredible Azgur Museum. A place for lovers of Soviet statues and nostalgia. This huge room used to be the workshop of Soviet sculptor Zair Azgur, and there are still hundreds of different sizes busts of Soviet and Communist leaders staring down at you as you walk around. Expect to see Lenin, Stalin, Mao and even North Korean leaders!
  • From Lenin Square, we’ll then take a Soviet walking tour of the centre of Minsk, strolling the length of Independence Avenue past the still functioning KGB building, WW2 monuments, Soviet art and architecture and many other iconic Soviet landmarks. • We’ll then sample some Georgian food for dinner before we return to the hotel to collect our bags and board the night train to Gomel.
  • Overnight on the train.

Sunday 10th October – Gomel Belarusian Exclusion Zone

  • On arrival in Gomel, we will transfer to the Belarusian exclusion zone and after clearing the checkpoints with our permits we will enter the Polesie State Radioecological Reserve, where we will enter the scientists research centre and learn about the real consequences of the nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, you will be amazed by nature diversity caused by the absence of human intervention and will be able to examine the radiation background with an accompanying expert guide.
  • The main objective of our trip is to get acquainted with the activities of the Polesie State Radioecological Reserve, to learn about radiation contamination issues with the scientific staff of the reserve, as well as to monitor the flora and fauna of the territories where human activity was almost completely terminated.
  • You will be surprised how quickly nature has recovered: for 30 years of human absence, the reserve’s territory was inhabited by the Przhevalsky horse, and the number of bison here is one of the highest in Belarus. Thanks to the ban on hunting in the exclusion zone, the number of wolves and other wild animals has also recovered.
  • Our route is built due to the lowest dosimeter indicators, which makes our stay at the territory of the reserve safe. We will visit the villages inhabited by those brave enough to return to the exclusion zone and live full time, the Pripyat river, whose shores are still littered with abandoned boats, Soviet relics, eerie abandoned cemeteries and Soviet industrial buildings.
  • We’ll visit former Soviet political propaganda centres full of Soviet relics and posters.
  • You will have the chance to visit many of the 96 abandoned Belarusian villages in the zone. Before the disaster, over 22,000 people lived throughout these settlements.
  • We’ll have the chance to climb a Soviet watchtower and get a birds eye view of the exclusion zone. On a clear day from here you can see Pripyat and the new dome over Reactor 4 inside the territory of Ukraine.
  • After exploring the zone and clearing radiation control, we’ll transfer back to Gomel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
  • We’ll then head to the train station for the night train back to Minsk.
