This 19th century palace was built by “Ba Ahmed”, the grand vizier of Marrakech & named after his favorite wife “Bahia”. Craftsmen worked on this palace for fourteen years. The tiles were imported from Tetouan, the marble from Meknes while the cedar wood used for the painted and shimmering ceilings came from the Atlas Mountains.

Visit Ben Youssef Madrasa, a 14th century school founded by the Moroccan Monarch “Abu el Hassan”, another beautiful example of Moroccan and Andalusian architecture. The Saadian dynasty enlarged and redecorated the building in 1570 and it became the largest Islamic college in north Africa.

It was completed during the reign of the Berber Almohad caliph Yaqub al-Mansour (1184-1199), and inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat. Local laws restrict any new building projects from exceeding the height of the minaret, providing a focal point for all to enjoy.

Visit Saadien tombs, the only remains of the Saadian Dynasty which ruled Marrakech in 1524 to 1659.

Explore the UNESCO site of Djemaa el Fna Plaza which is the heart of Marrakech, where can be found traditional activities such as magicians, story tellers, musicians, snake charmers and Marrakech’s legendary Souks. When it was created in 1050 it was used for public execution.

The garden was created by an avid plant collector (Jacques Majorelle), and is today one of the most popular attractions in Marrakech, for good reasons. In this refreshing oasis, you are going to wander in the midst of trees and exotic plants of dreamlike origin, pools filled with water lilies and lotus flowers, and vividly colored earthen walls. Let yourself take a break from the frantic pace of the Red City and enjoy the delicate fragrance filling the air.

The Jardin Majorelle, which extends over 9,000 m², is one of the most enchanting and mysterious gardens in Morocco. Created over the course of forty years, it is enclosed by outer walls, and consists of a labyrinth of crisscrossing alleyways on different levels and boldly-coloured buildings that blend both Art Deco and Moorish influences. The French painter Jacques Majorelle conceived this large and luxuriant garden as a sanctuary and botanical ‘laboratory’. On the way, the well-known Citadel of M’Gouna, awaits us. If you are interested, we can visit the women’s association to see how they make products extracted from roses such as oil, cream, or body soap…

Later we arrive our main destination, Boumalne Dades for overnight.  The next day, we will visit the Dades Gorge, and Todgha Gorge, in the afternoon we reach Merzouga desert. There your camels are waiting for you to take you for an adventure of a lifetime to catch the most beautiful sunset in the world.  Overnight in a desert camp (Standard, or Luxury) including dinner and traditional Berber music. For the remainder of the tour, you will visit the little Switzerland of Morocco Ifrane.

Visit Fez with a local tour guide to delve deeper into what this imperial city has to offer.  The tour will not be sweet without visiting the blue city which known as Chefchaouen, the word means (look at the horns.)  You can wander through its alleys and enjoy the Gnawa rhythms at the famous square.  On the last day, we will drive to the airport of Tanger where our journey ends.

Program Itinerary of 8 Days Tour from Marrakech:

8 days tour from marrakech, ⇒ day 1: arrival in marrakech, ⇒ day 2: marrakech » telouet » ait benhaddou kasbah » bomalen dades [314 km].

Today the Tour starts with a pickup after breakfast for the onward journey to Bomalen Dades. Today we will go high up over the Atlas Mountains. At the 2260 m high Tizi-n-Tichka (Tizi (Berber) = pass) we stop and enjoy the breathtaking panorama. We continue to the “Ksar Aît Benhaddou” (Ksar = settlement). This enchanting still original place in old clay construction has already served as a backdrop for many famous films (most recently “The Game of Thrones”).

We continue to Ouarzazate, the Moroccan movie metropolis that matches this old settlement we just visited. A next stop is the Valley of Roses. Here, the local offerings will make the hearts of herbal enthusiasts beat faster. Rose perfume. Soap. Body cream. Even the precious essential oil can be purchased here at a reasonable price. Now we are already on the road of 1000 Kasbahs – a region that gives an idea of how important and sometimes hotly contested the former trade route along the river oases was. After a few more visits along the way, we arrive in Bomalen Dades in the evening. We will stop at a typical hotel or riad.

⇒ Day 3: Dades valley » Todgha Gorges » Sahara Desert [ 250 km ]

After breakfast, as w e do not miss the Dades Gorge on our way. We pay it a short visit. Impressive, how the rock walls in this narrow gorge with the bubbling, crystal clear water of the Dades rise far up! And right after that we stop at another gorge: The Todra Gorge – at 1550 m.a.s.l. It is located at the foothills of the High Atlas and starts in the Berber town of Tinghir.

⇒ Day 4: Explore Merzouga area & Visit nomad families [40 Km]

Today, after an extensive Moroccan breakfast with olives, egg dishes in the tajine, fresh still warm bread and delicious desserts, we make a small regional tour. We will drive you straight through the dunes, show you the vast plains famous for their fossil finds, the old eyeliner coal mines. We pay a visit to the Gnawa musicians, where drum rhythms from ancient times are still played, and gain insight into their history.

You will drink tea with real nomads under their traditional tent, made of hand-woven dark wool. And discover the taste of Berber cuisine in a regional restaurant with a Madfouna, the famous Berber pizza, which can also be baked on the fire. The afternoon is yours again. Time to relax or explore the sand dunes on your own. The hotel will be happy to provide you with a surfboard if you want to try your hand at it. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

⇒ Day 5: Merzouga » Rissani » Ziz Valley » Midelt » Fes [467 km]

Today, starts by a set off early a long road to Fez lies ahead of us. After a wonderful view stop of Ziz valley a thousand of palm trees are scattered here and there. Once again, we cross the Atlas Mountains – the Middle Atlas – stopping not only for a snack, but also for short breathers at breathtaking viewpoints. The highlight will be the drive through Ifrane National Park with one of the largest Moroccan cedar forests. If we are lucky, we will encounter the famous Barbary macaques that have migrated as far as Gibraltar. Feeding is allowed here, but still caution is advised.

The way leads us further through the Moroccan Switzerland. It is green (or white in winter). The houses in adapted alpine style do not seem to belong here. Even cows are not rare here (but camels are). We stop briefly in the mountain town of Ifrane. Then we descend again on the other side of the mountains to Fez. Once there, we will take you to your accommodation – a traditional riad.

⇒ Day 6: Fes (Visit the city with a local guide).

⇒ day 7: fes » meknes » volubilis ruins » chefchaouen.

We will pick you up at your riad in the morning after breakfast. On the way to Chefchaouen, the blue city in the Rif mountains, we will pay a short visit to the 4th royal city – Meknès. On the way we will pass through areas that look more like Europe than the desert country of Morocco because of their lush vegetation. Later we Head to Volubilis, a Roman settlement from the 3rd century, with its very well-preserved arches, basins, wall remains and mosaics. Arriving in Chefchaouen in afternoon, we will take you to your accommodation where you can enjoy the evening. Of course, an evening walk in this small town with its special flair is also worth our recommendation.

⇒ Day 8: Transfer to the Tangier airport

After breakfast, depending on your flight time, we drive through the Rif mountains to reach Tangier, then we transfer you to the airport. From here our 8 Days Morocco Tour ends.

FAQ of this 8 Days Morocco Tour?

8 days morocco tour, is it morocco safe.

Don’t get surprised if we said Yes!! Morocco is totally a safe country and one of the most powerful intelligence apparatuses in the world. The Moroccan government has taken a great and very good step to spread safety such as increasing police presence in tourist areas and this we have remarked in every city in Morocco Also, in every street, you will find at least two policemen. As a result, the country’s security forces have been successful in preventing terrorist attacks. As we are a travel agency, we advise our customers to avoid as much as possible narrow streets during the night, avoid large crowds and keep valuables secure, and not to talk with strangers unless are a seller, guide, driver, or a coffee and restaurant waiter. By following the pieces of advice above you will enjoy your stay in Morocco with peace of mind.

Travel to Morocco as solo!

Traveling to Morocco as a solo. It might be difficult and impossible in your mind because you believe that it’s an African country there is only desert?? and it’s not safe and it is very poor and and… But the fact is completely different. By traveling with us you will get a private car, a private driver’s guide. And a private room or tent in the Sahara Desert. traveling solo can be an exciting and rewarding experience. I think we have said everything about traveling solo and bear in mind that you are not the first or the last who will travel alone. With our proper planning and awareness, a solo trip with Morocco itinerary is a memorable adventure.

The Overnight in the Camp

According to our guests’ reviews 99% of them they consider the night of the desert camp in Sahara Desert as the highlight of their trip. why?? what makes it special and recommended? Well to answer this question we should talk about the reasons!! First, when our customers arrive Merzouga Desert, they find the camels waiting to carry them across the dunes. Along the way a stop will be made in order to catch a magical sunset over the dunes then later they continue to reach the desert camp where our clients get surprised with the quality of their tent which includes a private bathroom, and a very clean and comfortable bed. Additionally, a delicious dinner with Berber music around the fire under a fully open sky of stars it’s the reason that makes the trip unforgettable. So don’t miss to visit the Sahara Desert during your stay in Morocco.

Alcohol in Morocco!

Morocco considers as an Islamic Country with more than 99 percent of the population is Sunni Muslim. But this doesn’t prevent of producing it and selling it. Here are some Moroccan beers and wines; (Casablanca, Stork, Flag, Heineken). If you are wondering where to buy some alcohol, that easy because many licensed shops are selling it. Such as some Hotels, some Restaurants, Bars, or Carrefour (Supermarket). However, drinking alcohol in the streets for tourists is breaking the law and is completely forbidden and can lead to arrest. So please be careful where you drink you are in a Muslim country.

What to bring with you?

while you are reading this article, so you are interested in travelling to Morocco. But you are lost, and you don’t know what to bring exactly. We will talk only about the important things Firstly, check your passport if its valid to travel or not, don’t forget your credit cards, Cash, Flight info, Phone, Charger, Suitcase, and some Medicine because Morocco don’t have the best Quality ones. However, bring body sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, lip balm are very helpful especially in the desert where the weather is dry. Last thing you shouldn’t forget is a secure Day Bag it’s a great ideal to protect your stuff when you venture into public places like souks (Markets).

Summer and autumn Cloths: Oversize T-shirts, short pants, light trousers, a Dress for women, a bathing suit if you want to swim, we advise comfortable shoes for walking, and a scarf to cover your hair and shoulders but if you don’t have one no worries you can buy one in Morocco. Also, a light jacket is very important because some places are a bit cold even in the summertime. To protect yourself from the strong sun we advise you to bring a Cap. Additionally, don’t forget flip-flops.

winter and spring Cloths: Our suggestions are a warm Jacket for the nights and early mornings, long pants (Jeans), if you have fleece, is perfect idea. Also, T-shirt sometimes during the day it gets sunny and warm. Shoes at least two types, Scarf, skirts, is ok, and tunics.

The Wi-fi & SIM Card in Morocco?

If you are wondering how to get the internet in Morocco and get connected with the world it’s simple and super easy. In the airport where you land, there are shops selling SIM cards you just have to buy one and put some Balance on it, and then you get the internet. I think you still didn’t understand in Morocco each shop ( Grocer ) sells SIM cards and balances. So, you need to buy both. SIM Card costs from 1.5 euro to a maximum of 2.5 euro. For the balance from 0.50 cents to 20 euro, it depends on how much you want:

100 MG  costs 0.50 cents available for one day – 1GB costs 1 Euro available for 3 Days – 2GB costs 2 euro available for 1 week – 5GB costs 5 euro and is available for one Month, and 10GB costs 10 Euro. (The best company is Maroc Telcom ). Additionally, Wi-Fi is available in every coffee, restaurant, Riad, and Hotel.

What languages Moroccans speaks?

Morocco is an Amazigh country (Berber) before being an Arabic country. How? Why? In Morocco More than 60% speak the Amazigh language for example in the north of the country. There are two main languages spoken (Amazigh and Spanish). in the Middle of the country, you will find people speak Arabic and Amazigh, and in the southeast Amazigh is spoken, in the west you find Amazigh and Arabic. So, if we come to account it, we realize that Amazigh people are more spread in Morocco. And to confirm this the king of Morocco Mohamed 6 is of Amazigh origin. Additionally, in Morocco, you will find people speak, other languages like French due to the French colonial. English because a lot they find it easy to learn, Moreover Spanish due to geographical proximity.

Can I use euro or Dollar in Morocco?

Most Merchants in Souks (Market) are accepting £$ and euro instead of the local Currency (MAD). But it’s going to be difficult for you in other places such as Restaurants, and Coffees because the majority of them are accepting only MAD. Our advice is to exchange your money in trusted offices. Like banks or other shops and don’t never give your money to strangers for exchange in the streets.

Morocco is a beautiful country with a rich culture and history. I recently spent 8 days exploring the country, starting from Marrakech. The itinerary was well-planned and allowed me to experience the best of Morocco.

The first day was spent exploring Marrakech, including the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square and the Bahia Palace. The next day, we drove to the Atlas Mountains and visited the Berber villages. The scenery was breathtaking and the locals were friendly.

On the third day, we visited Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The ancient city is made of clay and has been used as a filming location for many movies, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

The rest of the trip included visits to the Sahara Desert, the Todra Gorge, and the city of Fes. Each location had its own unique charm and beauty. Overall, the 8-day trip was an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore Morocco.

Day 6 – Ochre City to the Ocean

Opt for an early morning start and a hot air balloon ride above the palm oases and small Berber villages that surround Marrakech.

Stop along the way to visit an Argan oil cooperative, which has gained worldwide popularity in cosmetic and beauty products. Around 88 lbs (40 kg) are needed to extract 2.2 lbs (1 kg) of oil, which requires 8 hours of backbreaking labor by the mostly female workforce. Unfortunately, as a result of demand and labor-intensive processes, the argan trees are subjected to exploitation.

Afterward, head to Val D’Argan, a local vineyard, for lunch and a wine tasting of regional wines. Arrive in Essaouira in the late afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening on the coast.

Spend the day learning about the city’s Carthaginian, Roman, and Portuguese history.

Explore the 18th-century sea walls and the wood workshops, artist enclaves, and quiet alleyways that line the city’s old town. Walk along the harbor to see fishermen unloading the day’s catch, then enjoy a fresh seafood lunch in a streetside cafe.

Spend the rest of the afternoon on your Morocco luxury tour of the rest of the city. Enjoy shopping for wood carvings, pottery, and other gifts in the laid-back medina and market. If you’re up for an adventure, try kitesurfing or another water sport.

Travel Advices

Best time to visit morocco.

The climate in Morocco varies wildly according to the season and area of travel. In the lowlands, the cooler months from October to April are popular among visitors. This time of year is pleasantly warm to hot (around 30°C) during the day and cool to cold (around 15°C) at night. Winter in the higher regions often brings snow and can therefore get seriously cold, particularly at night. Tourists flock to the coastline from June to September for fun in the sun, with warm mostly rain-free days. Further inland it can get hot and rain is rare, which makes the best times to travel March to June and September to December.

Morocco Culture & Customs

Morocco's culture has developed over centuries of influence from far and wide. Contemporary Morocco is a fascinating mix of Berber, Mediterranean, Andalucian, and African traditions, which are present in the cuisine, clothing, music, language, customs, and lifestyle. As an Islamic country, most Moroccans are Muslim; however, there are small populations of people who practice Judaism and Christianity. Classic examples of Islamic architecture can be observed all throughout the country and tenets of the Islamic religion are carried out in the customs and lives of the people. The 'Call to Prayer' can be heard five times a day, women are expected to dress modestly and alcohol isn't drunk by most of the population.

Most of Moroccan society can be considered traditional, with respect for elders, connection to family, and giving alms to the poor hallmarks of everyday life for many Moroccans. Hospitality is another important element of society, with warmly welcoming people into your home a time-honored tradition and social responsibility that dates back centuries.

Vegetarian and Vegan Options in Morocco ?

Much of Morocco's cuisine revolves around meat, but vegetables are an important staple and a crucial ingredient in many dishes of the Maghreb. Your diet can consist of more than just flatbread and hummus – trust us. Keep an eye out for vegetable-based tagines and couscous, the renowned Zaalouk (a smokey eggplant and tomato salad), vegetable Briouats (triangular-filled pastries), and cinnamon oranges. Vegan options are slightly more limited, as many of the pieces of bread and couscous dishes have butter added to them, but your best bet is to enquire if yours can be made using oil instead. Otherwise, it's easy to dine well on varied vege offerings in Morocco.

After a hearty breakfast at the riad, our journey continues through the captivating Dades Valley, leading us to the awe-inspiring Todra Gorges. Leaving behind the quaint town of Rissani, we traverse the scenic Ziz Valley, cross the Middle Atlas, and pass through the enchanting Cedar National Park, aptly named the Monkey National Park due to its thriving Barbary monkey population. Ifrane, often referred to as the ‘Moroccan Switzerland’ for its distinctive gabled buildings, sets the stage for our arrival in Fes, a pivotal stop on our tour of Morocco’s Imperial Cities. The focal points of this guided tour are nestled within the medina, including the Bou Anania medersa, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, and the Karaouine mosque. Notably, the latter stands as a significant cultural hub in Islam, housing the University of Fes, one of the world’s oldest.

Our exploration in Meknes will encompass the city’s historic gates, including the impressive Bab Mansur, and the scenic Aghal pond.

Leaving Meknes, our journey takes us west to Rabat, the third historical capital and the current capital since 1912. The afternoon in Rabat is dedicated to exploring significant landmarks like the Dar el Makhzen Royal Palace, the Kasbah of the Oudaias, and Mohammed V’s mausoleum, among others. The must-dos on the trip to Morocco would not have been complete without vacations in Morocco. We stopped several times to take in the breathtaking scenery. Everything was great, from the hotel where we spent our first night to the restaurants where we ate lunch and the very comfortable desert camp. Hamid, the guide, speaks English and is very pleasant and active, and the car is really comfy. It is a must-do on the agenda for everyone visiting Morocco; seeing the sunset while riding a camel is incredible, and I recommend it to everyone.

Vacations In Morocco

Our journey across Morocco began last week! The desert, without a doubt, was the highlight of the vacation, but we were not expecting the driver who would transport us there to be so pleasant. Moha was always willing to assist; from the moment we met him, he made us feel welcome, put us at ease, and made us feel like family. The friendships we formed in such a short amount of time were fantastic. Without a doubt, a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Our 8 days Morocco Experience

Since first day I contacted them the attention was excellent, they were answering all my messages quickly and were very helpful. The driver was with us MOHAMED excelente person. He worked in that company for about 6 years, he knows the routes perfectly, many people, all of the places. Whatever you tell him you want to see, he will take you there:) He was taking care of us all four days, saying nothing bad can happen to us while we are with him. The trip is organized very well, first night they booked us a night in hotel close to mountain, second night in camping where there is not hot water ( excellent experience ) the last night in amazing Riad (felt like palace) , everything was perfectly balanced little bit of everything. We were able to visit Nomad family which was one of the best experience for me, eating Berber pizza in the middle of desert . Highly recommended thank you Mohamed

Amazing Experience with a Great Guide I had an amazing experience on the 8 day Morrocco tour! My favorite part was spending the night in the Sahara desert. After swimming in a beautiful pool with desert views, we travelled to our campsite by camel! We slept in tents that were spacious and comfortable and we had amazing views of the stars. Our tour guide Mohammed was very nice, funny, and knowledgeable. He made the trip amazing!
