India tour of Bangladesh 2022 schedule: Complete Test & ODI fixtures list | IND v BAN

India will travel to Bangladesh in December 2022 for a Test match and ODI tour – here is the complete schedule and Test and ODI fixture list for IND v BAN.

The two sides last played a Test match series against each other in 2019 in India, with the hosts winning both games in the two match series by over an innings. Ishant Sharma was named Player of the Series after taking 12 wickets, with Mayank Agarwal the leading run scorer. Bangladesh struggled against the India bowlers, only scoring over 200 once in four innings. Cheteshwar Pujara will make a return to the India XI after he was left out last winter, but India will be without the injured Jasprit Bumrah.

The two Test matches this time will be played after the ODI series between Wednesday, December 14 and Tuesday, December 26.

The three-match ODI series will be played over the course of a week, starting on Sunday, December 4. The two sides have contested 36 ODI matches since their first meeting in 1988, with India coming out on top on 30 of those occasions. Bangladesh last won an ODI against India in 2015, Mustafizur Rahman starring on that occasion with six wickets. India will rest Hardik Pandya from their ODI side.

India’s Tour of Bangladesh

India captain Rohit Sharma met with a specialist in Mumbai for his left thumb injury, which he sustained during the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh. He has been advised appropriate management for this injury and will not be available for the first Test against Bangladesh. The BCCI Medical Team will take a call on his availability for the second and final Test at a later stage. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Abhimanyu Easwaran as his replacement for the first Test.

Fast bowler Mohd. Shami and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are yet to fully recover from their respective shoulder and knee injuries and are ruled out of the Test series. The selectors have named Navdeep Saini and Saurabh Kumar as replacements for Shami and Jadeja respectively. The selection committee has also added fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat to India’s squad for the Test series.

Bangladesh Test Squad against India Announced, India tour of Bangladesh 2022 Test Squad: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named a formidable 17-member test squad for the opening test against team India at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. India and Bangladesh will square off against each other in the 1st test match on December 14.

Senior batter Tamim Iqbal failed to recover from his injury, which he suffered prior to the India tour of Bangladesh and has been subsequently ruled out of the 1st Test. Top-order batsman Zakir Hasan has received a maiden call-up for the 1st test to replace Tamim Iqbal.

Zakir Hasan was magnificent recently in the 1st unofficial test between India A and Bangladesh A. The batter scored 173 runs and fought hard to draw the contest. The Bangladeshi selectors praised the cricketer and said Hasan was on the selector’s radar for the last couple of years owing to his fantastic consistency.

“Zakir is one of the most talented young players and has been on our radar for the last five years,” Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin said on Thursday.

“He was in the high performance unit, and this season he was the highest scorer in first-class cricket. He played a good knock against India A last week. It saved the game. From what we have seen, he is prepared for the highest level.”

Meanwhile, veteran wicketkeeper batter Mushfiquar Rahim also traced his way back to the test side after missing a test series against West Indies in June.

Fast Bowler Taskin Ahmad, who was ruled out of the ODI series due to an injury, has recovered well and is named in Bangladesh’s squad for the 1st Test against India along with Yasir Ali.

India tour of Bangladesh 2022 will be the next campaign for the Indian team. India is set to face Bangladesh for an ODI and Test series. During India tour of Bangladesh 2022, three ODI games and two Test matches will be played.

The Bangladesh vs India ODI series will be played first followed by the Test series. The ODI games are scheduled to take place on December 4, 7, and 10. The venue of the first two ODI matches is Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The venue of the 3rd ODI is Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

India squads for Bangladesh tour announced; Prithvi Shaw ignored, Yash Dayal gets maiden call up

Prithvi Shaw, who has been in terrific form lately and also smashed his maiden T20 century during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match recently, has been completely ignored by the selectors.

The BCCI on Monday announced the Indian squads for the tour of Bangladesh, which will consist of two Tests and three ODIs. The Men in Blue will tour Bangladesh in the month of December 2022 after the completion of the ICC T20 World Cup and the New Zealand tour.

Notably, Rohit Sharma will lead India in both ODI and Tests , while KL Rahul will be his deputy. However, batter Prithvi Shaw, who has been in terrific form lately and also smashed his maiden T20 century during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match recently, has been ignored by the selectors.

Also, Ravindra Jadeja has been named in both ODI and T20I squads after he was ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 due to a knee injury. However, the all-rounder will be part of the tour only if he regains full fitness.

Moreover, bowling all-rounder, Deepak Chahar has been named in the ODI squad after he was ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to back issues.

There are some notable additions in the ODI line-up, with the inclusion of Rajat Patidar, Rahul Tripathi, and left-arm pacer Yash Dayal, who earned his maiden India call-up.

Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara has retained his place in the Test squad after his form revival in County Cricket. However, former India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane and batter Hanuma Vihari failed to find a place in the team.

Interestingly, the Bangladesh tour will also mark the return of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul as they have been rested for the preceding series against New Zealand.

India will kick off their tour of Bangladesh on 4th December with the ODI series scheduled to take place before the two Tests that will be taking place in Chattogram and Dhaka. The Test series will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23, the final of which will be played next year in the month of June.

Bangladesh have called up Mohammad Saifuddin for the first three T20Is of the five-match series against Zimbabwe. The squad also includes left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam , allrounder Afif Hossain , and opening batters Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain.

Saifuddin last played T20Is for Bangladesh in October 2022 shortly before the T20 World Cup in Australia. He suffered a back injury which kept him out till January this year following which he returned during the BPL, where he took 15 wickets in nine matches in Fortune Barishal's maiden BPL title run.

Left-handed opener Tanzid, meanwhile, has got a maiden T20I call-up. He has played 15 ODIs since his debut last year. He had a decent BPL campaign but was not part of the T20Is against Sri Lanka last month.

Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan are not in the squad for the first three matches. Shakib will return to Dhaka on April 30, after which he is likely to play a Dhaka Premier League match before joining the squad for the remaining two matches. Mustafizur is set to arrive on May 2 after his IPL stint and will undergo a fitness assessment before being considered for the final two T20Is against Zimbabwe in Dhaka.

Anamul Haque, Taijul Islam and Mohammad Naim have been left out from the squad that played T20Is against Sri Lanka, while Soumya Sarkar is still recovering from the knee injury he suffered during the third ODI of that series.

The first three T20Is will be played in Chattogram on May 3, 5 and 7, before the action moves to Dhaka for the last two games on May 10 and 12.

Fast bowling all-rounder returns to Bangladesh T20I squad for Zimbabwe series

Bangladesh have named a strong squad for the first three T20Is of the series against Zimbabwe next month.

Bangladesh have recalled fast bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin to the T20I squad for the series against Zimbabwe in May.

With the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in focus, the squad is bolstered by the addition of Saifuddin, who has played 34 T20Is for Bangladesh, the last of which came in October 2022.

Saifuddin returns after a long injury layoff and recently featured for Fortune Barishal in their title winning campaign in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Also in the squad is ODI opener Tanzid Hasan, who is yet to play T20 internationals.

The squad, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, is without Shakib Al Hasan, but the all-rounder is expected to play a part in the latter half of the series.

After the 2023 ODI World Cup concluded in November, Shakib took a break due to an eye condition and a finger injury. He returned to international cricket in the Chattogram Test against Sri Lanka earlier this month.

Bangladesh will play the first three T20Is against Zimbabwe in Chattogram on May 3, 5, and 7. The final two T20Is will be held in Dhaka on May 10 and 12.
