The positive - We were greeted by an employee. The negative - Bathrooms were -not- clean. The neutral - Did not see any healthier / organic food choices.

For a quick stop with one of the cleanest bathrooms ever, this is the place. Friendly staff, too! Gas & go in a jiffy.

On a recent road trip I needed to stop and get gas on my way home. I had been putting it off for some time and really riding on E. I should have paid attention what was around me and not have waited until the last minute to do so. That is in the past, obviously, and I ended up here as I was really in need of fuel. This is on the outskirts of Cumberland, and honestly it is an odd thing to see. In the midst of the mountains you basically have a truck stop. Along with this Love's there is a McDonald's and a Sleep Inn. It is quite the odd mix. The McDonald's is connected as being in the same building. The hotel is by itself, but on the same lot. When I say that this is a truck stop, take that into consideration when I talk about the size of the lot. It is huge to accommodate said trucks, but I have no idea what was going on the day that I stopped here. I felt as if I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. This lot was filled to the brim with people. Vehicle everywhere and a total horrible experience to be had in the lot. I was irritated. The irritation continued when I attempted to pull up to the pumps. There were more than enough pumps to take care of full needs. However, there were several pumps that were broken. I pulled up to the first one and there was a bag over the pump handle. Second pump, I pull up, insert my card, and it doesn't work. Move to my third pump. Mind you each time I moved, I had to wait in a line of vehicles to get gas. At least the last pump worked. What made it worse here was that all the spots were taken up by people not using the business. They were having some type of gathering or another. I still don't know what was going on. With those spots taken up it ultimately caused the backup at the pumps. A lot of the customers (me included) who needed to go inside had to remain at the pumps as there were no spots to park in. I used the facilities when I went inside, they were decently taken care of. I only went to grab a drink and go. It was much faster inside than outside. I felt bad having contributed to the backup in the lot. Leaving here was probably the easiest task, well that is after you get on the road.

Helpful and quick cashier when the fuel pump wasn't automatically taking my credit card. This place was very busy with lots of pump bays. Big convenience store inside. And best of all they have a fenced in area next to the parking lot where your dog could run around off leash!

One of my favorite Love's truck stops in the country. Showers are clean and the water gets super hot! There is a Mcdoanlds restaurant located inside of the store. The food is pretty good. There is a Sleep Inn hotel in walking distance if you want to stretch out. I highly recommend this place.

On I-68 where reliable places for food, fuel, and sleep are hard to find, you can't get any more convenient that this Love's. It is literally right off the interstate (Exit 46 eastbound, 47 westbound) and you don't have to go far. They have the staple convenience mart, not to mention a McDonald's and a Subway. I had my lunch at the latter, and it was no better or worse than a stand-alone Subway. If you sit facing outside you get a nice view of northbound US 220 going up the hill from the plaza, the whole area lends itself to picture taking. The mart also has showers for truckers, and an assortment of auto and truck parts if God forbid you're on long road trip and you need one. The restrooms are well maintained also. A Sleep Inn is on the same lot if you want to spend the night. As busy as this location can get, I would recommend reservations. Most "truck stops" are stay-away places for car people like most of us, but this Love's is an exception. It's suitable for anybody, which is why I give it five stars.

The gas pumps are in good shape since it is a newer gas station... the bathrooms while you can tell they are newer they could most certainly be cleaner. Stopped in to fuel up and get a caffeine fix. The staff could improve their customer service. The first register I came to, I was told by the attendant I needed to go to the next register if I wanted to be waited on, her screen was stuck she said and she had no idea when it was going to be fixed. The next one I went to on the other end of the gas station, the young girl was rude, not attentive, she continued to entertain two men that were not buying anything while I stood at the register. She then came over and went to the other register and just looked at me... I walked over and checked out but they definitely need some work at this gas station.

After a very long drive holding this bladder we stopped at Love's. Super clean restrooms, all the staff was very kind and no issues sleeping in the parking lot for those of you that do that while driving.

Sleep inn next door, convenient truck parking, for 100 trucks. There is a McDonalds at the Loves, with large comfortable seating area. Restrooms in good order for the most part. Well supplied.

I love....Love's! This one was clean, and the staff were friendly. The fuel pumps were well taken care of, and the bathrooms were clean. I use to be an OTR truck driver, and I have showered at this Love's many times.....now as a "four wheeler driver".....it is still a great place to fuel up and grab a bite to eat.

When it comes to Interstate highway fuel and food stops, you can't get any more convenient that this Love's location, especially if you're going east on I-68. Sometimes you have to go a half mile or more off the highway to get there, but that's... not the case here, it's right there. They have the standard convenience mart, and there's also a McDonald's and a Subway, which is where I got my meal. Prices are about the same as free-standing Subways elsewhere in the area. Based on what I saw, so are their fuel prices. The Subway only had one person behind the counter (all too common these days) but she took care of me as quickly as she could, and with friendly service too. If you're getting a soft drink, you have to go into the convenience store to pour it, they don't have their own fountain. Actually that gives you a bigger selection. They also have showers available for truckers. You'll have to ask one of them how good or bad those are. They also carry a variety of basic auto parts. From where I was sitting at Subway, you get a nice view of US 220 northbound going up the hill about a mile north of the plaza. It's a naturally scenic area if you want to take pictures. Finally, if you want to stay the night, a Sleep Inn hotel is right next door to the Love's complex, on the same parking lot. What's not to like about this place? Maybe one thing: If you arrive during peak hours (lunch, dinner) traffic may get a little backed up, which happened during my visit. More

This place is less than a mile from where I live and it's very convenient for quick visits to get something. This place is a convenient store and not a restaurant, although there are two restaurants connected to this place. I love how there's all... kinds of stuff in there, including apparel, key chains, magnets...etc. along with snacks and since it is also a truck stop they have showers for the truckers that come in. I recommend you stop here while on your travels or before hitting the road. More

CONs Parking lot, everyday I witnessed lots of necessary : guys driving in and around, a little too fast,... a bit wild. Not great parking. Love's Travel Stop has assured its popularity with well-stocked stores, multiple gas pumps, and decent fast food.

Each year on our drive to Virginia we stop here for gas and lunch. It’s a nice, clean location with a convenient store as well. Since there’s McDonald’s and Subway everyone can get something they want. The staff is friendly.

They don't care about you (me) and my business. Horrible attitudes!!! I found there's better service, better attitudes, cleaner bathrooms and a bigger selection with PILOT

Typical of what you'd expect at any Love's station. Floors and counters were clean. Cashier was not too friendly. In and out visit.

Stopped to get gas, grab a munch, very nice place. Staff is friendly and helpful and it connects to the subway and mcdonalds from indoors, nice set up!

We stopped for gas and food to take next door to the Sleep Inn. They had many options for food and were open late.You can purchase cooked food at the restaurants or any deli type items at the store.

The fast food was to die for after a over the road from Plant city Florida to Maryland.Thanks to the CRST dispatch Chris O'Shea keep on trucking.This state was beautiful on the incline.I don't shop at TJ Max so stop asking.I eat at Loves. -Anthony☺

You will be greeted as you enter, whether it be for gas, snacks, to use the restrooms, or whatever! This Loves has a Subway ans a McDonalds. Clean and easy on/ off I 68

Stopped at Love's on way back to Ohio and grabbed some snacks and drinks for the road. Can't go wrong with Love's. Good travel stop for refueling and snacks, and plenty of other stuff you wouldn't normally find at a stop.

The place was quite busy. The gas price is very reasonable. The cashier was friendly and helpful. It is close to I-68.

This is a Travel Plaza, with a large number of gas and diesel pumps for cars, two restaurants, a 7-11 type store, a motel, and a very large truck facility. This is an nice one-stop shop. This is the only one I have been to,... although my wife says they are out west as well. We took advantage of the location for the motel, gas, and the two restaurants, which will be separately reviewed. Clean bathrooms, convenience of the store and 2 restaurants in one building. Hugh number of gas pumps, and air available. Motel a few steps away. Massive facility out back for tractor trailers. Very convenient, off Interstate-68, east of Cumberland, Maryland, where Rt 220 comes in from the north (Bedford, PA). More

Love’s Travel Stops Opens in Cumberland

The “Queen City” is now home to Maryland’s first Love’s Travel Stop along Interstate 68, Exit 46, offering residents and professional drivers a new place to purchase fuel, snacks and more.

“With a growing community and proximity to one of Maryland’s busiest interstates, Cumberland is an ideal location for Love’s,” said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love’s Travel Stops. “We look forward to providing the ‘Clean Places, Friendly Faces’ Love’s is known for to Maryland residents and professional drivers.”

The 24-hour, 10,000 square foot facility adds approximately 40 jobs to Allegany County. Customers can enjoy Subway and McDonald’s restaurants, gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, merchandise, name-brand electronics and more. Professional drivers can take advantage of seven showers, 90 truck parking spaces and a Love’s Truck Tire Care center.

Love’s will donate $2,000 to the Allegany County Library System as a part of a ribbon cutting to be held in conjunction with the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce. The check will be presented at the new Love’s at 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7. Members of the community are invited and encouraged to attend the ribbon cutting.

CUMBERLAND — Officials with Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores have offered a timetable for the construction and opening of a travel plaza located east of Cumberland.

“We have recently closed on the property near Cumberland and look forward to beginning construction in late June. We anticipate opening the location in late December,” said Jenny Love Meyer, director of communications for Love’s.

The large travel center “will be around 10,000 square feet with seven diesel lanes and eight gasoline islands,” Meyer said.

Love’s is a family-owned company that began in 1964 with the Musket Corp. The company is an American success story.

Tom and Judy Love started out by leasing an abandoned filling station in Watonga, Okla., for $5,000. The first Love’s opened in 1972, also in Oklahoma, according to the corporate website. The Love family still owns the privately held company.

The company now has $17 billion in annual revenue and has more than 290 stores in 39 states. The Cumberland store will be the first in Maryland. The company has 10,000 employees. In 2011, Love’s ranked No. 7 on the Forbes list of Americas Largest Private Companies, according to the company’s website.

Love’s contracted to purchase more than two acres near Ali Ghan Road for $1,625,000, according to records with the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation.

In 2012, the Cumberland Municipal Planning and Zoning Commission gave a green light to Love’s to develop the site.

Love’s has paid for an extension of a water line to its property, said City Director of Engineering John DiFonzo. The city will take over the line but is not paying for the installation.

“The project is moving along; however, we haven’t seen the final plans,” DiFonzo said previously. DiFonzo said the company has been working with the State Highway Administration to design entrances and exits from the property to Interstate 68.

Site plans for the Love’s project include two restaurants — McDonald’s and Subway — as well as fueling stations for cars and trucks. Drawings show parking spaces for 78 cars and 96 trucks.
