Rockies Classic Summer Tour
The Rockies Classic tour is an excellent ‘taster’ tour of the area, covering all the main sights (Lake Louise and other stunning lakes, Banff, Jasper) but with limited time in each location. There are a couple of optional activities (the Banff gondola and walking on a glacier) you can purchase as extras on the trip. There’s a fair amount of travelling on the first and last day, but there are regular stops and the guide provides lots of local information. The scenery even from the coach is often spectacular. Our guide Ryan was well informed and had a fun manner, helping to create a good group atmosphere. He went out of his way to help people get the most from stops by recommending cafes, showing people good viewpoints, and organising a mini-celebration for my birthday (thank you Ryan!). Overall this tour exceeded my expectations.

Neither intrepid nor tour radar does this. this was unclear in all the communications. you can't talk to a tour radar person. on line chat is fine if you are not in a hurry for answers. That aside, the guide was knowledgeable, pleasant, and worked hard to give all tour participants an extraordinary time.

Active Canadian Rockies Adventure
Most amazing views! Spectacular sites, wonderful hikes and hitting so many beautiful locations in one trip. Food, however was very lack luster and was clearly chosen to save money. Bring your own granola bars and maybe some protein powder to add to your oatmeal at breakfast and you should be good for a week.

Options were given to either cancel or go with the adjusted tour due to the snowstorm & closed highways. Full refund was done within 2 weeks but no reimbursement for expenses incurred such as transportation. Overall, good communication and operation.

12 Day Rockies Hiking and Camping Tour
Overall this tour was brilliant. I met some really amazing people and saw some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever laid eyes on in my life. I got to switch off from the monotony of day to day life and hike the legs off myself, pushing myself to my absolute fitness limits - which is exactly what I wanted from the trip. There wasn't too much time spent driving to our hikes which was great. There was obviously no expense spared when it came to the food provided for us and we ate really well throughout. The tour guides were super knowledgeable and generally a lot of fun - Morgan in particular made the trip for me by just being her crazy (in a good way) self. she was extremely kind and looked after us all so well. We all had some really great laughs and I will genuinely never forget the experience. As with almost anything, I believe there are some areas I would suggest could be improved upon, but I will address that privately with Fresh Adventures. Thanks again for a great trip #canadianrockiesposse2022

I have a great time! Ben is our tour guide, he’s such a great fun, knowledgeable, friendly person. He made sure everyone comfortable, safe, and ready to answer any questions we have during the tour. I did group tour before, I can tell Ben is one of the best.

Just returned from the 5 day Premium tour of the Rockies. What an amazing trip! We traveled in a very comfortable bus under the guidance of of our exceptional guide Richelle. Richelle was a wealth of knowledge sharing interesting information on each area we visited, we learnt so much from her about the areas we explored. The trip follows absolutely breathtaking landscapes. The accommodation choices were wonderful and it was good having this all organised, made the holiday a breeze for us . It was spectacular having breakfast organised at the top of the gondola in Banff , felt very special as well as all the other adventures Richelle took us on. Having the tour all organised for us took the stress out of us having to organise things , we had the adventure of a life time and loved every moment. Highly recommend this tour if you have limited time and want to visit as much as possible between Vancouver and Banff.

Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park

Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park is a complex of historic sites on the Siksika 146 Indian Reserve near Cluny Alberta. This crossing of the Bow River was traditionally a bison-hunting and gathering place for the Siksika.
The tour includes the bus trip to the Blackfoot Crossing Historical Site, a guided tour of the museum. lunch at the venue including tea/coffee all gratuities. After lunch we will have a Storyteller who will speak about legends of their ancestors, the war they experienced with other tribes, how some of their people got their names and stories of how young men become brave warriors. Weather permitting, there will be an opportunity to explore outside.
The cost of the trip is $75.

TRIP REGISTRATION
Registrations for bus tours now use the Online Registration System, which lets you register yourself and member friends, provide your license plate number , and pay for your bus tours, all online. Parking for bus trips is the the Deerfoot Inn and Casino in the lot south of the hotel.
To see details on a trip, click on the big green button for the trip when it is shown.
If registration is open , you can enter your FLC membership number , then add a car license number and a comment if needed. Use the comments to advise any special dietary or allergy issues. If there are options for lunch, please indicate your options in the comment section.
- If you are registered on the 'active' list, you can pay securely by using your credit card.
- If you are registered on the 'wait' list, you will receive an email inviting you to pay if space becomes available, or an email cancelling your registration if there is no space available.
You must have a current FLC membership to register for any of our trips. You can find information about buying or renewing an FLC Seniors Club membership by clicking here .
Note all bus trips, except Rosebud Theatre, involve some walking; wear appropriate footwear.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
- Cancel up to 6 days after the day registration opens for a full refund (e.g. if registration opens Monday, you must cancel by Sunday end of day).
- Cancellations after day 6 until registration closes will receive a refund minus $25.
- Cancellations after registration closes will not receive a refund, as Bus Tours must confirm attendance at the event and make the final payment which is non refundable.
UpComing bus Tour:
- Bus tours for 2024 are in the planning stage. Our first bus tour will be in April to the Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park. We will do the usual two trips to the Rosebud Theatre, one in June to see Little Women and one in December. We are also considering a visit to the Lethbridge Japanese Gardens, the Danish Canadian Museum along with the Markervillle Creamery, and the Scandinavian Trail along with the RCMP Dog Training Service Centre.

From 1 January 2023, Intrepid will no longer require travellers to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (excluding all Polar trips and select adventure cruises). However, we continue to strongly recommend that all Intrepid travellers and leaders get vaccinated to protect themselves and others.
Specific proof of testing or vaccination may still be required by your destination or airline. Please ensure you check travel and entry requirements carefully.

Who are Intrepid travellers?
Intrepid adventures are for travellers with a yearning to get off the beaten track. Whether you're travelling solo, with a group of friends, or are aged 18 or 70, there is an Intrepid adventure to suit your interests and comfort level. Each Intrepid adventure has a physical and cultural grading to help you decide if the trip is right for you. No special skills are required for most adventures, just a sense of adventure and a curiosity about the world. Even on our camping adventures no previous experience is required; our tents are easy to set up, even for first-time campers.
Are there age restrictions on your trips?
For the majority of our trips the minimum age is 15. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 18. Our Overland Adventures have a minimum age of 18. Younger children can join us on our Family trips and Short Break Adventures, but check each trip for its minimum age, which is located on the trip’s overview page on the website. Most of our trips don’t have a maximum age limit, but a Self-Assessment Form is required for all passengers 70 years and over.
How many people will be on my trip?
Good things come in small packages, which is why we keep our group sizes down. This means we’re small enough to remain flexible as we thread our way through communities without intimidating the locals. On most of our trips you’ll be part of an intimate group of 12-16 people, though our group sizes are on average 10 people. Our Overland trips are in purpose-built vehicles that can carry up to 24 travellers. Group sizes are displayed on each trip’s overview page on our website.
I’m travelling alone – is that OK?
This is the beauty of the Intrepid style of travel: many of our travellers join because they are travelling solo and want to meet and share experiences with like-minded people.

I have a disability – can I join an Intrepid trip?
Intrepid is committed to making travel widely accessible, regardless of ability or disability. We ask that you carefully consider whether you are physically and mentally able to complete the itinerary you have chosen, recognising that on many trips you will be required to carry your own bags and use public transport.
Where we can we will make reasonable adjustments to the operation of our trips to facilitate the requirements of disabled travellers – such as booking ground floor accommodation, or having our leaders communicate important directions in writing as well as verbally. Many travellers with disabilities have been able to enjoy our trips by travelling with a friend or companion who can assist with specific needs. If joining a group trip is not practical we may be able to provide you with a private departure. Please contact our sales team for further information on any of our itineraries.

Do I need to buy travel insurance?
Travel insurance is compulsory on all our trips if you’re travelling internationally. Minimum coverage may differ from trip to trip, so make sure you check the Travel Insurance section in your Essential Trip Information. You will not be permitted to join the group until your leader has sighted your insurance policy number and the insurance company's 24-hour emergency contact number – it’s really important there are no barriers to getting emergency assistance for you.
Will I have my own room?
It's your call. Rooming on our trips is organised on a twin-share basis, but most of our trips also have the option to pay an extra fee for your own room. Just let us know at the time of booking and we'll arrange it for you.
For twin-share rooms, we pair up solo travellers with another traveller of the same gender as per the gender marker on each of their passports. As a responsible tour operator, we strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. In the case that your gender identity differs from what's indicated on your passport, please contact us so that we can discuss rooming options with you.
On a small selection of itineraries some accommodations are booked on an open-gender, multi-share basis. In those instances it will clearly be stated in your Essential Trip Information.
How does group time work?
Whether you’re travelling alone or with a partner, our trips have a set itinerary. But within that there’s time set aside for your own exploration (if you want to – no pressure). Depending on how you're feeling, you may want to have some downtime, ask your guide for a few tips then head out alone, or hang out with the group and see where the day takes you.
What makes a small group tour better than a coach tour?
The main difference between a small group tour and a coach tour is the size of the group; our tours have 10 travellers each (on average) while coaches can hold up to 60 people. This means that you'll never have to vie for your leader's attention on a small group tour because you'll automatically have it.

Creating the Perfect Tour
Preplanning.
- Begins usually a minimum of 1 year in advance of the tour departure date.
- Planning a route (which usually means driving it personally by the tour planner) with sought after attractions.
- Making sure that route allows for well timed meals and break stops that are at the customers best interests
- Timing, make sure time aboard the bus is kept to a minimum and attractions are kept to a maximum
- Ensuring comfortable quality accommodations, to get that well deserved rest at the end of the day!
EXECUTE THE PLAN
- Having a Bus Driver and Tour Director who work well together executing the tour itinerary and plan laid out for them.
- Keep the tour on schedule to ensure customers experience is postive
- Understanding in dealing with customers’ concerns.
- Educate, Inform, Entertain and have Fun with the group.
- Make decisions on the go when unplanned and unexpected changes need to be made.
CUSTOMER PARTICIPATION
- Arriving with an open mind to group travel, which is different from individual travel, is the first step to a successful enjoyable tour.
- Participate in the bus activities that are offered.
- Be aware that food and accommodations may not be the same as what you are used to as these are selected for the best interests of a group.
- Talk to your fellow passengers, join them at meal stops or for an evening coffee or social.
- Lend a helping hand if you see a fellow passenger struggle with something.
- Be willing to step outside the box and explore the new areas we are seeing.

Hello, I wanted to say that the trip to Tulalip was absolutely fantastic. The resort was a 10 the service was great. Please note:
- The calendar allows selection of any dates; please confirm there are scheduled buses for your desired dates on the Departure schedule above.
- Prices are per person and include a lift ticket per person, per day. Prices also include round transportation, all taxes and National Park fees if applicable.
- Single means one adult per room, double means two, triple means three and quad means four. Only those age 18 and up affect room occupancy. For example: Two adults and one youth/junior/child will be considered a double room rate per parent, plus the price of the youth/junior/child "staying with parents".
- Youths, Juniors, and Children must be staying in a room with at least one person age 18 or older.
- Bed sharing may be required.
- Your rate generation and online booking do not confirm hotel availability.
- Final rates at time of booking are subject to change based on supplier availability.
Non-Skiing Deductions:
Deduct the appropriate non-ski rate (ie. adult, student, youth) for each day you do not require a lift ticket. There are no non-ski deductions for juniors or children.
Overnight Itinerary
Just like a Daytrip but instead of heading home, we will drop you off at one of our accommodation providers.* You’ll spend a relaxing night in Jasper’s majestic mountain setting. Shuttle up to the mountain (not included) the next morning to ski another full day, then ride home after your last day. Read the full itinerary below for more details.
Lift Tickets
Our rates include a lift ticket for the day, or more if you choose to stay overnight. No more ticket line-ups, so you’re on the mountain shredding faster.
Transportation
The MagicBus is a 56 passenger luxury motor coach. It’s family friendly (non-drinking, non-smoking), washroom equipped, and hosted by a MagicBus Tour Director.
Taxes & Fees
MagicBus rates include National Park fees when applicable and are always tax in. The price shown is exactly what you pay; there’s no rate increase at the end of your booking.
If you choose to stay overnight, your accommodations will also be included in your price! Choose from one of many great hotel options in Jasper.

Calgary to Edmonton to Grande Prairie
All aboard for a Frontier Adventure into Canada’s north and Alaska. Depart Calgary, travel north via Red Deer to Edmonton meeting additional travel companions enroute. Your travels cross central and northern Alberta to the beginning of Peace River country. Continue to Grande Prairie for overnight.
Grande Prairie to Fort Nelson
Your morning stop is in Dawson Creek, BC. It is here at MILE “0” that the legendary 1,500 mile-long ALASKA HIGHWAY begins and continues to Fairbanks, Alaska. 2024 marks the 82 nd anniversary of the world-famous Alaska Highway. Follow the Peace River Valley, an important agricultural and petroleum producing region. The highway winds through a rugged section of the Rockies before arriving into Fort Nelson. This evening features a GET ACQUAINTED WELCOME DINNER.
Fort Nelson to Watson Lake
Cross over Summit Pass, the highest elevation on the Alaska Highway as you travel through Stone Mountain Provincial Park. Enjoy an included LUNCH in a log chalet by the blue-green waters of Muncho Lake. Before arrival at your hotel for overnight in Watson Lake, Yukon, visit the SIGNPOST FOREST, a collection started by a homesick soldier in 1942 while building the Alcan Highway . If you wish, bring your own sign from home and leave a part of yourself in the Yukon.
Watson Lake to Whitehorse
This morning your route offers spectacular views of the Cassiar Mountains. Cross the Great Divide which separates the waters flowing to the Pacific Ocean from those that flow to the Arctic Ocean. Enjoy an included PICNIC LUNCH followed by a picture stop at MILES CANYON before arriving in Yukon’s capital for overnight. Whitehorse was a stopover point for the prospectors on their trek to the Klondike goldfields. Visit the SS KLONDIKE STERNWHEELER, now designated a National Historic Site, which sits proudly on the banks of the Yukon River in Whitehorse.
Whitehorse to Dawson City
(2 nights) Today follow the original trail used by prospectors travelling to the Klondike as you travel the scenic North KLONDIKE HIGHWAY. Enjoy an included LUNCH at Moose Creek. Arrive late afternoon for a two-night stay in historic Dawson City, where the famous Klondike Gold Rush started in 1898. This evening try the slots or watch the show at DIAMOND TOOTH GERTIES, a historic casino.
Dawson City
Classified as a national historic site, many of Dawson City’s buildings have been restored to reflect life during the gold rush. Enjoy a free morning to travel back in time as you explore the boardwalks, shop for gold nugget jewellery or attend a recital of poetry written by Robert Service. Re-live the excitement of bygone days during your afternoon DRIVING TOUR with stops at DREDGE #4 and DISCOVERY CLAIM NATIONAL HISTORIC SITES.
Dawson City to Tok
Travelling west along the TOP OF THE WORLD HIGHWAY brings you through a once-prosperous gold mining area and into Alaska. The highway traverses the mountains above the tree line and offers spectacular views in all directions. Arrive in Tok for overnight.
Tok to Fairbanks
Visit North Pole’s “SANTA CLAUS HOUSE” enroute to Fairbanks. Alaska’s golden past comes alive during our afternoon cruise on the STERNWHEELER RIVERBOAT DISCOVERY with a stop to visit an ATHABASCAN INDIAN VILLAGE. This evening you are in for another treat as you arrive at the historic PIONEER PARK. Here you will enjoy a traditional ALASKA SALMON BAKE followed by a short walk to the Palace Theatre for a musical comedy SHOW – an evening of dinner, history and fun.
Fairbanks to Anchorage
(2 nights) The George Parks Highway offers spectacular mountain views all the way to Anchorage, including DENALI, North America’s highest peak. Enjoy a DRIVING TOUR and time to explore the shops, museums and art galleries of downtown Anchorage before continuing to your hotel for a two-night stay.
Travel the Seward Highway to Portage Lake and board the MV Ptarmigan for a CRUISE to the face of PORTAGE GLACIER. Return to Anchorage for a visit to ALASKA WILD BERRY PRODUCTS, home of tempting locally produced chocolates, jams, sauces and much more.
Anchorage to Tok
Begin your day with an interesting visit to a non-profit MUSK OX FARM which is dedicated to the domestication of the “Oomingmak” or “Bearded One”. This animal produces an annual harvest of the finest wool in the world. The scenery will continue to fascinate you on your drive through the agricultural Matanuska Valley to Glennallen. Skirt along Wrangell-St. Elias National Park on the Glenn Highway. Arrive in Tok for overnight.
Tok to Whitehorse
(2 nights) Enjoy picture stops and included PICNIC LUNCH as you journey through the snow-capped peaks of the Alaska Range to Kluane National Park, home of the largest lake in the Yukon. Upon your return to Whitehorse, you have completed one of the most iconic drives in the world…the Alaska Highway in its entirety!
Whitehorse to Skagway to Whitehorse
All aboard for a unique ride on the Narrow-Gauge WHITE PASS & YUKON ROUTE RAILROAD that takes you from summit to sea level. Carved through some of the North’s most rugged terrain, it offers spectacular panoramic views. Parts of the historic White Pass trail that was followed by the gold seekers in 1898 can be seen from the train. Arrive in Skagway, the boom-town gateway to the Trail of ’98 and Klondike Gold Fields with time to browse the shops and history before returning by motorcoach to Whitehorse.
