Founded in 1991 by the then husband and wife team of Tiziano and Louise Mazzilli, the Voyage label kick-started the craze for boho chic with their astronomically priced ribbon-trimmed cardigans.

Celebrities and fashionistas flocked to their Fulham Road store to get their hands on the one-off pieces – often flamboyant creations that could easily be part of a costume drama or stage show. The brand gained notoriety for their Members Only policy, famously turning away the likes of Madonna, Naomi Campbell and Julia Roberts. Instead of having an adverse effect, it only added appeal, so the stars who managed to enter the hallowed ground were much photographed wearing the prized items.

Along with their son and daughter, Rocky and Tatum, the Mazzillis – dubbed The Addams Family Of Fashion because of their Gothic style home – became famous for their vintage-look clothing and accessories, mixing – often clashing – fabrics, textures and embellishments to create individual clothing. A masculine shape or style would be softened by, perhaps, a beaded collar or quirky trim. Even simple items, like a vest top, would be transformed by adding textured ribbon straps, an unexpected tiny pocket on the sleeve of a jacket, fleecy lining instead of silk in an evening coat… Everything had a twist. The inside of the garment could be just as exciting as the outside – a brown and burgundy striped velvet blazer with psychedelic 60s patterned lining which Austin Powers would be proud of, a brown tweed-effect bag with bright pink silk interior with brocade slip pocket.

Voyage also collaborated with two famous US department stores – Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman – to produce clothing that carried their label along with the “Voyage. Invest in the original” one. Original indeed – each unique piece was hand made in England, so no two items were the same, be it clothing, bag or accessory. Of course, these individual pieces came at a price, a pair of men’s jeans retailed at £1,650, an embroidered coat, £3,000.

How to pack and dress for your getaway..

It’s the question that always seems to crop up no matter what situation we find ourselves in: what do I wear on a cruise? For some, especially those that have never been on a cruise before , the question engenders excitement and endless possibilities. It signals the opportunity for creativity and getting fun and funky with your style. For others it means a headache, prompting late-night Google sessions to figure out an appropriate outfit. When it comes to what to wear on a cruise, there’s good news — you don’t have to stress. At least, not on a Virgin Voyages cruise. We have no dress code, or formal night, but if you do enjoy dressing up, there are plenty of opportunities for creative fun; like date nights at our fancy restaurants, a fun and exciting shipwide pajama party, and Scarlet Night. The best part? There’s no wrong way to dress on our cruises. 

We throw dress codes overboard 

Sure, sometimes dressing up can be nice. But we believe that the obligation for wearing cocktail dresses, suits, and ties, belong at weddings and funerals — not on vacation. This isn’t the Titanic in 1912, where the onboard experience is defined by a class system rife with social posturing. Our voyages are casual, inclusive, come-as-you-are experiences where what you wear doesn’t matter nearly as much as how much fun you’re having. 

But what does that really mean? It means we don’t have a traditional dining room with a formal dinner requiring formal dress. It means that even at our 20+ restaurants — some of which, like The Wake, have a decidedly elevated feel — you can wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Just came from the pool deck in a bathing suit and flip flops? Fine by us. Heading to a shipwide pajama party later and feel like eating dinner in your PJs? More power to you. 

BUT, if you do relish the chance to dress up and wear something other than casual everyday attire, we’ve got you covered. Between shows in the Red Room, nightclub nights in The Manor, and special events like our pajama party, there are plenty of ways to get creative. The most exciting is probably Scarlet Night , a special night on each of our voyages where everyone does their craziest, sexiest, comfiest (you name it) red outfit and jumps into the pool together. While the “Scarlet Night Virgin Voyages dress code” is technically just “wearing red,” there are endless opportunities to get creative with your outfit and express your individual style.   

Dress like you on our exclusively adult voyages

So without a dress code for guidance, you’re wondering: What to wear on Virgin Voyages? That’s the beauty of it. You can wear whatever you want. Think of it this way: our dress code is whatever makes you feel like the best version of yourself. Maybe that’s a suit and tie. Maybe that’s a jogging suit, gym attire, or a bathrobe. 

Obviously, comfort is huge. Before anything else, wear what makes you feel comfortable and cozy. But that doesn’t mean you should confine yourself to what you wear in your everyday life. An adults-only cruise is an opportunity to take risks, maybe even wearing outfits you might not feel comfortable wearing around friends or family. The best part about deciding what to wear on an adult-only cruise? There is no normal. Anything goes. So do that glittering vest you’ve never wanted to wear to your hometown bar, and grab a specialty cocktail in our Red Bar; or saunter down to the Dock House in your bathrobe, straight off a relaxing spa day, for some mezze bites. 

Our “dress code” comes down to one simple philosophy: If it feels good — wear it!  

Clothing suggestions & packing for a cruise

Okay, there might not be a right or wrong way to dress, but you still have to wear something . Having ultimate freedom, with no restrictions or guidelines, can actually make the packing process even tougher. We’re here to help.

No matter where you’re sailing with us, it’s a good idea to pack for warmer weather. That means sandals, swimsuits, sundresses, sunhats, etc. Flowing, loosely-fitting fabrics that won’t make you overheat while walking around on a city tour are an absolute must. Consider what might look nice in photos , too. If you’re heading to Santorini, it might be a good idea to bust out that vibrant blue sundress or stylish red linen shirt to contrast with the whitewashed Cycladic architecture. If you’ll be walking the parapets of Castillo San Cristobal in San Juan, a flowing white dress that’ll catch the sea breeze would make for a majestic photo-op against the Caribbean backdrop. Photo-worthiness shouldn’t be your only consideration — comfort and practicality are more important — but it can help narrow down your wardrobe and offer some guidelines.

Prior to officially filing for divorce from Jax Taylor , 45, on Tuesday, Aug. 27, the “Vanderpump Rules” alum, 35, took to Instagram to share own version of the “revenge dress.”

Following in the footsteps of fellow “VPR” star Ariana Madix, who wore a red cutout creation after boyfriend Tom Sandoval’s cheating scandal, Cartwright posed in a form-fitting Micas midi ( $45 $42) and served up a pointed caption.

The piece featured cutouts above the bust and fringe details at the bottom, which Cartwright showed off in two different photos, placing her hands on her hips.

“Out with the old, in with the new. 💚” she wrote.

While the reality star went equally bold with her glam, rocking a curly updo and dark, dramatic makeup, she noticeably ditched her wedding ring for the sultry shots.

“🫡 dayum,” fellow “The Valley” star Kristen Doute commented underneath the post, while Scheana Shay added multiple fire emojis.

“Beautiful Brittany, we are all rooting for you 😍🔥🔥” another encouraging comment read, echoing many others that praised Cartwright’s good looks.

“Brittany you are an absolute STUNNING WOMAN!!! You’re on fire🔥and so gracious, you deserve so much!! SAY GOLD BEAUTIFUL”

Although some felt the need to criticize the outfit, claiming that Cartwright’s dress was “not flattering,” others quickly came to her defense.

“So, meaning out with Jax?” someone asked. “Considering no ring on.. bummer.. really hoping for you both to make it!”

The couple tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their son, Cruz , in 2021. Cartwright and Taylor announced their separation in February 2024, sharing the news on their podcast, “When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany.”

“Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” Cartwright noted at the time. “Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”

She later gave even more insight into the split during the Season 1 finale of “The Valley.”

“He was going out to the bar and stuff, coming home and having these horrible hangovers that would make him mean as a f–king snake,” she revealed during the episode, which aired in June.

“Finally, after he’s already been screaming at me for hours … I packed me and Cruz up, and we got the hell out of that house.”

Thankfully, it seems like Cartwright is thoroughly enjoying the single life. On Tuesday, she took to Instagram once again, posting a photo of herself rocking long golden waves and a tight pink, ribbed ensemble.

Unlike New York, where it can seem like stores filled with throwback treasures are in every borough and on every corner, in Moscow, the overwhelming answer to "Where are all the vintage shops?" usually comes in two forms, ranging from "I don’t shop secondhand" or "Go to Saint Petersburg!" But pry hard enough, and you are bound to discover some stellar, under-the-radar gems that Slavic fashion die-hards love. Stores like Freak Frak have a Soviet kitsch flair with racks filled with pieces from Nikita Khrushchev’s USSR, while places like Peremotka have a collection of frocks from almost every era. Here, we spoke with three Muscovite It girls, from designers to DJs, about where to head in Moscow for a chic blast from the past.

Freak Frak Vintage

Though most vintage stores in Moscow sell Western designer pieces, Freak Frak specializes in Soviet fashion. It’s filled with plenty of high-waisted A-line pleated skirts, straight-from-the-village shirt dresses, and scenic school teacher–type vests. "I love graphics of the Soviet time, so going to Freak Frak Vintage is more like research more than shopping," says ZDDZ designer Dasha Selyanova. "But then I just browse and always find cool stuff accidentally!"

"The owner is obsessed with vintage clothes," says INDEXflat owner Anka Tsitsishvili. "I found a beautiful kimono there from the sixties, which was hand-painted." And from trippy sixties style frocks with pom-pom–fringed sleeves to diaphanous lace slips, Peremotka has all of the dresses a well-heeled Muscovite could want.

"At B’Noir, a buyer chooses clothes not because the label is well-known, but because every piece is worth it," says Tsitsishvili. "They carry everything from Anne-Marie Beretta, Escada, Claude Montana, and Chanel. Also, you can find vintage denim there, which usually fits perfectly. I have a few jeans!" Holland America Line Offers Cruisers the Chance to Sample a Grand Voyage, Exploring a Global Region in Grand Style Starting at Just $169/day

Guests can enjoy destinations like Easter Island, Antarctica and cities of the Med while enjoying signature experiences aboard a Grand Voyages

Seattle, Wash., Aug. 26, 2024 — Holland America Line , a leader in destination-rich longer voyages, is inviting cruisers to sample one of its most prolific cruise categories by booking a segment of either the 2025 Grand World Voyage or 2025 Grand Voyage: Pole to Pole, for as little as $169 per day, including all taxes and fees.

Seven segments are available on the Grand Voyage: Pole to Pole aboard Volendam, ranging from 33 to 100 days. On Zuiderdam’s Grand World Voyage, guests can choose from among six segments, ranging from 20 to 55 days. The segments allow guests to choose from a diverse selection of shorter itineraries, tailoring the Grand Voyage experience to their own taste and timeline.

“Our Grand Voyages are something our dedicated guests come back for every year while also attracting new guests who are eager to explore the world, but at over four months we recognize that not everyone has that time,” said Paul Grigsby, vice president of deployment and itinerary planning for Holland America Line. “By booking one of our 2025 Grand Voyage segments, cruisers can get a taste of the special atmosphere and community aboard these sailings at an incredible value.”

    o   47-Day Fort Lauderdale to Buenos Aires , Jan. 25 — March 13, 2025: Those looking for an extended Antarctic adventure and exploration of South America can sail from Fort Lauderdale, experiencing a Panama Canal Transit before heading south to Central and South America, extensively exploring Peru (including an overnight at Lima) and Chile. A four-day Antarctica experience rounds off the segment before sailing north to Uruguay and Argentina.

These 9 Colours Are the Centre of 2024's Biggest Fashion Trends

People often ask me what my favourite part of my job is, and I always say it's the rush you get the second I've realised I've just uncovered a trend —something new and fresh (and that I can't wait to tell all of you about!). Having said that, I don't believe in following trends just because they feel new — they have to speak to you on a level that you know you'll still love them, even when their time in the style spotlight comes to an end.

Again, when people ask me which 2024 trends are actually worth investing in, I rarely give a specific answer. Instead, I direct them to colour trends . In fashion, colour trends move more slowly compared to other trends: I guess there's only a finite amount of them, so they tend to have a longer lifespan than individual pieces. Fashion is cyclical, this we know, and colour trends have a tendency to come back around rather quickly. So, if looking timely is important to you, you can trust that said colours are sure to be prevalent again.

With this, I wanted to find out which fashion colour trends that 2024 has in store. To do so, I searched through thousands (really, thousands ) of runway looks. Out of them all, I can confidently say that 2024's colour palette centres around nine colours—and classy ones at that!

THE TOP FASHION COLOUR TRENDS OF 2024

1. almost yellow.

The term " quiet luxury " might not be as current was it was in the middle of last year but the aesthetic—which centres largely on anti-trend, minimalist and classic pieces—has firmly made its mark on 2024's colour trends. Farther down my list you'll be presented with brown, which falls into the quiet-luxury colour category. Another? Pale yellow . This shade has become something of a new neutral—so subtle is the yellow tone that it might look like a deep cream in some lights, a beige in others. It's this adaptability that, I'd argue, makes it a wise colour investment. If you ask me, it's little wonder its runway popularity has surged.

2. PALE BLUE

The entirety of the blue colour spectrum was evident on the spring/summer 2024 runways but it was this specific shade of pale blue that had every fashion editor's head turning. Styled with an array of clashing colours—everything from zesty neons to cherry red (more on that in a minute), sky blue might just be the most "fashionable" colour of the year—if Bottega Veneta, Alaïa and JW Anderson have anything to say about it. 3. EVERY ORANGE

Colour institute Pantone recently proclaimed "Peach Fuzz" its Colour of 2024 , and it's clear to see that the inspiration behind the decision was found on the spring/summer 2024. Along with soft peach shades, orange itself proved to be a recurring catwalk theme, seen everywhere from Bottega Veneta—where orange-peel tones were amplified in leather—to Carven, where wispy chiffon added to the delicacy of its apricot hues.

4. STEEL GREY

Okay, so I know what you're thinking—grey isn't really a trend! I get that, but when it featured in so many outfits across the entire breadth of runways, it's definitely a tone with noting. The key here is in the styling—wearing all-grey outfits if perhaps one of the easiest runway trends to emulate, as most of us will have enough grey pieces to do so already with items we already own. Still, if you'd like to invest in something fresh to celebrate grey's new fashion status, there are plenty of chic pieces to choose from.

5. CHERRY RED

Pink might have been a key colour over the last twelve months but, the closer to 2024 we've edge, the more we've seen a shift towards red tones in its place. I mean Gucci really outdid themselves with their self dubbed "Gucci Rosso" red in the spring/summer 2024 show. Generally thought of as a more grown-up and polished, bright-red has been cropping up across the fashion scene in the form of tailoring and trainers. These are still worthwhile investments of course but, come high summer, expect to see more red dresses than ever before!

6. CHOCOLATE BROWN

Of all the '90s trends that have made a comeback over the past few years, brown is the one with the most staying power. Back in a way that we've never before seen, brown has taken over boots, bags, shoes and clothing this season, and it's reign is set to continue well into 2024—just ask Loewe, Ferragamo, Givenchy, Gucci, Hermès, Max Mara, Michael Kors, and Saint Laurent, for it appeared top-to-toe in the spring/summer collections of them all.

Brown accessories are just as versatile as black or white.

Pinstripes will instantly make any outfit look more expensive.

7. SNOW WHITE

Akin to grey above, I'm sure some of you will argue that white is not a "trend". It's classic! It's timeless! Here in, however, lies its power. Designers like Saint Laurent and Valentino made white feel even fresher during their spring/summer 2024 shows by exploring it in different fabrications—cotton, leather, chiffon, silk, wool—and that's precisely how we should be wearing it this year; layered up in a myriad of ways. There were, however so many white dresses to gawp at which, although not entirely surprising considering it is spring/summer we're talking about, this leads me to think that the market—both high-street and high-end—will focus heavily on this staple. For now, get your white-outfit fix by way of knitted dresses, skirts and tailoring.

8. PISTACHIO GREEN

Last year, green proved to be a big colour trend with grass-green shades sprouting throughout the collections. For 2024, designers have continued their exploration of the colour but leaning towards, as the rest of line-up suggestions, a more subtle interpretation. Call it sage, pistachio or laurel, celadon or, well, light green, that's up to you. So long as you wear it, that's what really matters.

9. MIRROR SILVER

One of the biggest fashion comebacks of the past few seasons has to be silver . The metallic tone had long fallen out of favour to gold (and, for a minute, rose gold). After a tentative return via jewellery, silver burst into the fashion realm, covering everything from trousers (jean-type styles at Hush, H&M, Marks & Spencer and Khaite that have become impossible to get your hands on), dresses, bags and shoes. If you've already invested, you'll be pleased to hear that silver is more than just a thing in 2024—it's a full-blown obsession.
