Pearl Harbor National Memorial

Pearl Harbor National Memorial is free to visit, although a $1 service charge is collected by recreation.gov to reserve tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial program. Visitors are encouraged to create and log in to their accounts before tickets are released since tickets are limited and may be reserved in their entirety in several minutes. Same-day, free tickets are no longer available at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. (See the "Booking Windows" tab for more information.) All visitors to the USS Arizona Memorial, regardless of their age, must have a ticket.

A visit to the USS Arizona Memorial is a solemn and sobering experience, even for those who were not alive when the attack occurred.  

The Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, part of the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, is the primary portal for visitors coming to Pearl Harbor. It is open daily from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Interpretive programs available include a round trip boat trip to the USS Arizona Memorial and time spent on the memorial for reflection and contemplation. USS Arizona Memorial programs run frequently throughout each day. The visitor center is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.  

Parking at the visitor center is $7/day. This payment is collected through a virtual pay system on visitors’ mobile devices or via an onsite kiosk (this fee cannot be paid through recreation.gov). 

The visitor center is the gateway for visitors to expand their knowledge of World War II and the Pacific Theater by visiting neighboring independent historic sites: Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum , Battleship Missouri Memorial , and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum . Pearl Harbor National Memorial is a fee-free site, and the National Park Service does not charge for programs or for entrance fees.   

With a limited number of tickets available online each day, reservations can fill quickly. Reservations may be made up to 8 weeks (56 days) in advance. All tickets reserved for the USS Arizona Memorial program are final. There are no refunds for the $1.00 reservation fee under any circumstances. 

Ticket reservations may not be made by commercial operators or agencies except as provided under the terms of a Commercial Use Authorization with the park.

Other tickets, for the separately-managed Pearl Harbor Historic Sites, can be reserved at the Passport to Pearl Harbor Historic Sites page . 

Please arrive at Pearl Harbor Visitor Center at least thirty (30) minutes prior to your assigned tour time and be at the Validation Check in located at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Theater ten (10) minutes prior to your tour time to ensure you are checked-in. The Navy-operated boat will begin boarding at your tour time. If you are late you may miss your tour.

Bags are prohibited at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. Clear, see-through stadium bags and bags containing medical devices or medication may be allowed into the site at the discretion of the National Park Service. Cameras, cell phones, and wallets are allowed. Bags may be secured in a storage facility near the visitor center entrance for a fee. More information is available on the park’s website, here .

Boat trips to the USS Arizona Memorial may be cancelled or modified due to boat mechanical issues, high winds, and other safety concerns. 

The visitor center has reserved accessible parking near the entrance. The restrooms, theaters, exhibit galleries, bookstore, information desks, drinking fountains, Navy shuttle boats and the USS Arizona Memorial are all fully accessible to visitors in wheelchairs or scooters. Walking the distance between facilities may be challenging for visitors with mobility issues. Several benches are located throughout the site for opportunities to rest. Please note: The visitor center does not offer wheelchairs to the public. Please use assistive devices with care; walkers with wheels have caused accidents when used as wheelchairs. Stay hydrated in the tropical climate. 

For hearing impaired visitors, all films are fully captioned in English. There is an induction loop for use with hearing aids in the theater. Visually impaired visitors will find signage in braille in addition to tactile models of various interpretive resources throughout the site. Braille booklets regarding Pearl Harbor are available at the information desk. 

Please plan for traffic and allow time to find parking in one of the paid-parking lots located within walking distance of the visitor center. Taxi cabs and ride share companies must follow parking lot signage, as well as all pick up and drop off protocols.  

Booking Windows

Primary Booking Window: Tickets are available 8 weeks (56 days) in advance at 3 pm HST on a rolling daily window. Example: On Monday, May 2, tickets will be available for Monday, June 27; on Tuesday, May 3, tickets will be available for Tuesday, June 28.  

Secondary Booking Window: Additional tickets are available one day in advance at 3 pm HST on a rolling daily window. Example: On May 3, additional tickets will be available for May 4; on May 4, additional tickets will be available for May 5.

Changes and Cancellations

All tickets reserved for the USS Arizona Memorial program are final. There are no refunds for the $1.00 reservation fee under any circumstances.

Know Before You Take The Tour

Know before you go to pearl harbor (may not apply to all tours).

1- As a Federal facility, All current Federal COVID rules apply. 2- Please carry a government-issued photo I.D. with you (not necessary for young children) as it may be required to go to Ford Island, which is inside an active U.S. military base. 3- No food or drinks are allowed in the theater or at the Arizona Memorial. (Covered water bottles containing water are permitted.). 4- For passengers with young children, be advised that strollers are allowed in the Pear Harbor National Memorial Visitor’s Center. However, they are not permitted on the shuttle boat to the Arizona Memorial. Instead, they may be left on the side and reclaimed when you return from the Memorial. (Park staff will direct you where to leave the stroller.) 5- Clear see-through bags are permitted for diapers and infant formula. 6- Please be aware that the Pearl Harbor National Memorial does have a dress code. Casual wear is allowed, but swimwear is prohibited. 7- Covered footwear is highly recommended. 8- Sunscreen is recommended because the visitor center and other Pearl Harbor attractions are mostly open areas. 9- Cameras are allowed. However, large telephoto lenses capable of long-range photography are prohibited. 10- Please refrain from taking pictures on the shuttle bus over to Ford Island. 11- The U.S. Navy has the right to cancel the Arizona Memorial shuttle boat at any time due to public safety. However, we have no control over the U.S. navy or other organizations in charge. 12- Ford Island is part of the active military base, Joint Base Pearl Harbor – Hickam, and the U.S. Government has the right to restrict access to Ford Island without notice. 13- Please be advised that no weapons are allowed at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial. 14- Pearl Harbor is a smoke-free facility.

Our Tour Policies

1- Rates are subject to Hawaii State tax. 2- Rates and schedules are subject to change without notice, and all confirmed reservations will be honored. 3- Lunch is not included in the tours unless it is specified in the description of the tour. 4- Food is available at Pearl Harbor to purchase. 5- You will receive a full refund if the tour is canceled in writing at least 24 hours before the service date for all group tours. 6- We shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, or accident to persons or property of any individual on tour from any cause beyond its control. 7- We are not responsible for and do not extend financial reimbursement for delays caused by factors beyond our control, such as traffic, weather, sudden mechanical issues, car accident, or problems concerning the Navy-operated shuttle boats. The U.S. Navy reserves the right to shut down the boats for public safety at any time. Such action is beyond our control and power. 8- We cannot be held responsible for the actions of the U.S. Navy or the National Park Service. 9- The duration of transfers is approximate. 10- The exact duration is subject to the time of day and traffic conditions. 11- Pearl Harbor National Memorial is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Special Policy For Pearl Harbor Tours

Everyone should be ready for pickup at the agreed-upon pickup location at least 10-15 minutes before pickup begins, as the driver will not be able to wait for you. While we understand that circumstances may prevent you from being able to show up for the tour, please understand that if you are not at the agreed-upon pickup location, there is nothing we can do. The vehicle will have to leave, and you will be considered a no-show. At that point, it would be less than 24 hours prior to your tour, and there can be no refund. If you do end up missing your pickup, please contact us, and we may be able to work something out with you. Such as booking another tour at a discounted rate if there is availability.

Please be ready at the agreed-upon pickup location at least 10-15 minutes prior to the beginning of pickup time. When the driver arrives, they will not be able to wait for you, and if you are not ready at the pickup location, they will have to move on. You will be considered a no-show.

You may cancel within 24 hours of the service date for a full refund. If your tour includes airline tickets, it is noncancelable and nonrefundable. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.

We are a tour company that is not affiliated with Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor is administered by the National Park Service. The National Park Service has strict regulations against tour companies meeting people in Pearl Harbor. If you miss your tour, please contact us. The USS Oklahoma (B-37) was a Nevada-Class battleship commissioned on May 2, 1916. She was at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. During the Japanese attack, she received up to 8 torpedo hits. She capsized, almost rolling completely over. This trapped many of her crew who were below decks underwater. A desperate rescue operation was launched to save as many of her crew as possible. In all, 429 officers and enlisted men out of a crew of 1,398 died in the attack. Her losses comprise the second-largest loss of life in the attack after 1,177 were killed when the USS Arizona exploded.

Submarine Memorial Circle

Right on the water near the USS Bowfin is the Submarine Memorial Circle. The circle is comprised of 52 stone, and metal memorial plaques, one for each of the 52 US Navy submarines lost in WWII. Detailed on each plaque are the name of the submarine, the cause of her loss, if known, and a list of the sailors who were lost with their boat. It is a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by those who served in the “Silent Service” during the war. From the memorial, you can also get a good picture of the side of the USS Bowfin.

Lone Sailor

The statue known as “the Lone Sailor” is a tribute to all personnel in the sea services past, present, and future. This statue was sculpted by Stanley Bleifeld using a real sailor, PO1 Dan Maloney as the model. The initials and last name on the sea bag belong to Rear Admiral William Thompson, the first president of the Navy Memorial Foundation. The foundation raised funds for the creation of the Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C. The bronze used for the original sculpture is said to have had several historical artifacts added to it during the smelting process.

Arizona Memorial

When you arrive at the Arizona Memorial, walk to the ramp from the boat dock and enter the Arizona Memorial. There is a limited time on the Memorial, and people will move from the entrance to the far end of the Memorial. On the way to the far side, take some time to look at the USS Missouri, which is docked near the Arizona Memorial. Some portions of the ship are still visible above water. These are parts of the superstructure, the remains of the number 2 turret, and the number 3 turret barbette. You may notice an orange buoy to either side of the Memorial; these denote the bow and stern of the ship.

Join us at the USS Arizona Memorial, a deeply moving and emotional experience where you will learn about the 1,177 seamen who perished when their battleship was sunk during the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. You’ll witness the attack in a 23-minute documentary and then cross the harbor to the Memorial in a Navy vessel. At the Memorial, pay your respects to the heroes whose names are etched in marble in the Shrine Room. Look into the water and note the oil droplets – “The Black Tears of the Arizona” – that continue to escape the sunken battleship and rise to the harbor surface. Ships Underway

USS  America (LHA-6) left for an underway period on Monday, according to ship spotters. America  will change homeports later this year, USNI News has learned.

In Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam

U.S. 7th Fleet command ship USS  Blue Ridge  (LCC-19) and the Coast Guard cutter USCGC Waesche (WMSL-751) pulled into the Vietnamese port of Cam Ranh Bay on Monday, according to the Navy.

“During the port visit, Blue Ridge and Waesche leadership will meet with the Vietnam People’s Navy, Vietnam Coast Guard, and Khanh Hoa leadership. Events during the visit include subject matter expert exchanges and community relations activities,” reads the statement.

In the Indian Ocean

USS  Theodore Roosevelt  (CVN-71), conducted an ammunition transfer on Tuesday and transited the Strait of Malacca en route the Middle East on Sunday to continue the U.S. presence mission in the region.

In the Eastern Pacific

USS  Ronald Reagan  (CVN-76) is underway in U.S. 3rd Fleet, USNI News has learned.

The carrier will head to Washington state later this year for a planned repair availability.

Aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) is transiting the Pacific Ocean en route her new home port of Yokosuka, Japan after participating in Exercise Southern Seas 2024.

Amphibious assault ship, USS Boxer (LHD-4) departed San Diego, Calif. on Wednesday, according to ship spotters. Boxer had been in port San Diego conducting emergent repairs on a rudder casualty discovered shortly after departing on deployment on April 1st.

Carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68) was underway off the Pacific Northwest, according to ship spotters.

In Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Aircraft carrier USS  Carl Vinson (CVN-70) arrived in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on Tuesday in preparation for Rim of the Pacific 2024 exercises.

In the Mediterranean

USS Wasp (LHD-1) pulled into Naval Support Activity Souda Bay, Greece, according to a statement from the service.

The Wasp Amphibious Ready Group with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked deployed from the East Coast on June 1. The ARG is made up of Wasp, USS New York (LPD-21) and USS Oak Hill (LSD-51).

The Wasp ARG conducted joint, combined operations with the Eisenhower CSG and the U.K. Navy in the Eastern Mediterranean on Tuesday.

The 24th MEU is composed of a command element, Battalion Landing Team 1/8, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 365 (Reinforced) and Combat Logistics Battalion 24 as the Logistics Combat Element.

The temporary U.S.-built pier aimed at boosting aid shipments to Gaza was removed once again due to weather to protect it, and the U.S. is considering not reinstalling it unless the aid begins flowing out into the population again,  U.S. officials said Friday.

In the Red Sea

The U.N. Security Council  on Jan. 10 approved a resolution calling on Yemen’s Houthi rebel group to “cease its brazen” attacks in the Red Sea.

On Sunday, U.S. Central Command forces destroyed two Iranian-backed Houthi uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Yemen. On Thursday , CENTCOM forces destroyed two Houthi uncrewed surface vessels in the Red Sea and one Houthi radar site in Yemen.

On Wednesday , CENTCOM forces destroyed two Houthi radar sites in Yemen and two USVs in the Red Sea.

On Monday , CENTCOM forces destroyed one Houthi radar site in Yemen.

In the Gulf of Aden

On Sunday , CENTCOM partner forces successfully destroyed two Houthi UAVs over the Gulf of Aden.

In the Persian Gulf

U.S. Coast Guard Sentinel-class Fast Response Cutters are forward-deployed to the region under Patrol Forces Southwest Asia (PATFORSWA). PATFORSWA deploys Coast Guard personnel and ships with U.S. and regional naval forces throughout the Middle East. Initially deployed in 2003 to support Operation Iraqi Freedom, PATFORSWA is now a permanent presence based out of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In addition to these major formations, not shown are others serving in submarines, individual surface ships, aircraft squadrons, SEALs, Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Forces, Seabees, EOD Mobile Units and more serving throughout the globe.
