About Coastal Queen Cruises

Coastal Queen is a pristine, 58-foot cruising vessel that is owned and operated by Conanicut Marine Services Inc., a family-owned and operated business that has been a part of the marine industry in Jamestown and Newport since 1974. Coastal Queen Cruises, launched in 2019, offers daily cruises, sunset cruises, special event cruises, group tours and private charters. JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – An annual display of classic cars across downtown Jamestown returns this Friday for the 30th year. 

Patrons can view the hundreds of different desirable vehicles in downtown Jamestown in addition to music, vendors, and a slew of local businesses.

In previous years complaints have arisen over “burn outs” from the show cars, however those with the Chamber of Commerce tell us that they have spoken to registered show car owners about the complaints.

New this year, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s department will be in attendance with an amish buggy, giving information about drivers safety.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the car show, a huge accomplishment for those involved.

“I’ve only been running it for a couple years, and then the chamber has ran it prior to that,“ explained Carrie Swanson, Community Coordinator for Jamestown for the Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a great event, it brings tons of people downtown, people look forward to it every year. We’ve got some great music going on, there’s going to be food from the restaurants that are already downtown, as well as we’re bringing in a few extras this year. It’s an exciting time.” 

The Cruise-In will take place this Friday in downtown Jamestown from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. the public is urged to attend.

Jamestown Cruise-In Returns For 30th Year

Hot rods, cool classic cars, and elegant autos of all makes and vintages will line the streets of downtown Jamestown for a 30th year as the Downtown Jamestown Cruise-In returns from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday in downtown Jamestown.

The event attracts a wide variety of cars and trucks. In addition to the autos, Jamestown Cruise-In features live music. The In Crowd will return to perform a mix of oldies and newer music.

The Jamestown Cruise-In is organized by the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce Committee in Jamestown to attract foot traffic into downtown Jamestown. The objective is to help existing local businesses. Locally owned restaurants are gearing up for heavier foot traffic that evening, and some downtown retailers will extend their business hours.

New for Cruise-In this year is a People’s Choice Award text contest. Drivers can fill out the form they’ll get that evening and spectators can text in the number of their favorite car. One driver and one spectator will each get a $50 ShopLocalCHQ Gift Card.

“Our focus is on encouraging people to support local business, and this is one way to do that,” said Carrie Swanson, chamber coordinator in Jamestown. “When we draw visitors to downtown Jamestown, we have seen that sales at local restaurants and retailers increase. We saw that with Cruise-In last year and expect it to be another great night for local businesses while people enjoy the car show. We are grateful to Der Kobbler’s auto club for their on-going partnership in this event. Their participation is crucial to the success of this event. We hope you’ll check out their vehicles and all the others that attend.”

The event takes place on Third Street between Spring and Washington streets, and includes the connecting streets (Pine, Main, and Cherry) between Second and Fourth streets. The streets will be closed at 3 p.m. Friday. All vehicles entering the show are asked to enter between 3 and 5pm at the intersection of Third and Spring streets. The cost is $10 per vehicle. Advance registration is open online now and will remain open until 9 a.m. August 12. Drivers can also just show up with their cars and pay at entry.
