“Waterfront Sites”

Maureen Beck User Image

Decent campground with a few full hookups. Our site just had water and electric but the bath house/restrooms were across the street from us. Roads inside park werent the greatest but weve seen worse. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Plenty to see and lots of hiking and falls to see. We drove and walked to the Munising Falls and Miners Falls. Both were fairly easy hikes. We visited Miners Castle and saw some of the Pictured Rock Landscape. Drives to these areas in the Pictured Rock Lakeshore areas were so beautiful as the fall colors were on full display. We ate Pasties at Muldoons...

“Real nice Campground. Very accommodating. ”

Munising Tourist Park Campground was very nice. Very accommodating... We had reservations for three nights, then we were off to another campground, but after two nights, we wanted to leave. Called We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

If you go, the main thing to do is the boat ride to see pictured rocks. It was reasonably priced ($52. Each), and the captain was very informative. We had a nice time in Munising. The little town had plenty of restaurants, gas stations, a grocery store, a laundry. A short drive to Sand beach and a waterfall....

“Extremely convenient to local attractions and directly on Lake Superior ”

Robin&Jackie User Image

We enjoyed walking along the beach on the campground property and was a great base for local UP attractions. The only negative was how unlevel our site was - took all of our leveling blocks and jacks We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Super convenient to Picture Rocks - also try Miner's Pasties for delicious pasties.....

“A Very Good RV Park Experience”

REN3 User Image

I spent 10 nights in #93, a full hookup, Lakefront site, with some trees and great beach access. I used this as a "basecamp" to explore and visit numerous locations within an approximate 90 mile We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Munising has a lot of good places to eat and drink, a neat downtown area that was great for exploring, shopping or just hanging out. Trips up the coast and to the fabled Pictured Rocks were just a couple of things to do, along with kayaking and other water sports activities. If you visited Munising and got bored, you weren't trying real hard. Grand Marais...

Raw Lake Superior. Campers from everywhere. Close proximity to boats, pontoon and kayak rentals. Hiking, trails and waterfalls nearby. Very dog and family friendly.

What a great experience! This campground was not on my list but while driving by we decided to stop in and were greeted with a clean and really cool spot right on the beach of Lake Superior. The folks are nice and this site has grass! We loved being able to walk the dogs on the beach... they both enjoy the water, and one loves to swim. Enjoy enjoy

This a a beautiful spot along Lake Superior. Even though my site wasn't directly on the water, I could see the Lake and the gorgeous sun set. The office staff was very helpful and let us come early to use the wifi so we could do a virtual meeting before check in time. The other campers were polite and from diverse backgrounds, which was welcoming and friendly. The internet was good enough for video games and taking a class on zoom. Low key and gorgeous spot. Favorite camp ground so far.

tourist park reviews

We split our time in Michigan camping and staying in motels. I love to camp, but I can only go so long. We stayed here for two nights in the fall in a tent. We chose this place because of the great location right on the beach of Lake Superior. Like so many campgrounds, the hook-up sites here are kind of close together. However, we didn't have the RV on this trip and were tent camping, and our tent site was huge! The road was a tad noisy during busy times of the day, but quiet and peaceful at night. Our tent site was right next to the bathhouse, which was perfectly clean when we arrived, and a little less so by the time we left. Our site was dry and had a table and fire ring. We bought a cube of wood while we were there for the fire. The staff was friendly and the other campers were even friendlier. We met some really nice folks there. Considering the prime location and the fact that it more than met our tent camping needs, I think they earn four stars. I'd return. I love the U.P., Lake Superior, and Michigan as a whole.

The price is $25 per night for rustic site. It is situated on the beach with a view that is priceless. Showers and bathrooms were maintained and clean during our 2 day trip. Located close to Kayak tours and stops along Main Street for food, etc. It was also close to several waterfalls for a short drive to hike. Nice trail from parking w wheel barrel to get items to site in one trip. Nice secure and quiet location.

The location amazing, well maintained roads and descent facilities. Our site was incredible, #7. The kids loved the beach being right there and we watched the sun set from our site every night.

The location is right off of the beach and close to all trailheads and downtown Munising. Beware, since it is right off of the beach, it can get VERY windy and cold at night. The bathrooms are clean. Not all campsites have the same amenities - some fire pits do not have grill grates. We spend the first night at Unit 1 which was a very long site but there was a path leading directly to the beach. The water and electricity source were very far from the actual camp site. Our second site was rustic F. The fire pit is on the beach and there are some tent spots guarded by trees. The path to the rustic sites are not accessible by car but they do provide some wheelbarrows to transport your gear. The campsite is a 5 minute drive from Family Fare (grocery story). I would bring your own kayak if you have one to go paddling from your site

tourist park reviews

There's is only one way to experience and be one with nature. It's getting down and roughing it for a few nights. Dust off your tents, do the rustic style or do one with water and electricity. Doesn't matter, it's all about getting away from it all and enjoying whatever it is that God made beautiful. This park isn't just amazing because of its shoreline appeal, it's more because it's at striking distance to whatever that draws people to Munising. Whether it's looking at cliffs of rocks from a kayak, or hiking to some water falls, or even doing the angler thing. This spot is the best place for you to plop down your tent, go out and do whatever you came to do. Buy some fire wood on the way back, burn the crap out of it in the firepit, have a beverage or two and tell each other how awesome it is here. Now let's talk about the camp site. It's nice, it's well kept and the facilities are fabulous. There are two main stations for people do do their business, separate room has a kitchen sink to clean pots and pans, then private shower rooms. Dumping station and water for RV people. The main office area even has wifi. So, if you're the RV type, semi electric and water tent type or the rustic type of camper. You will definitely love what this campsite has to offer. We had an amazing time l here. Thank you munsing tourist campground. I will come back and camp here again. Weeeeeeeeeeeee

My wife and I just spent five night here. We met up with two other couples for the week. Two of us had sites right on the water( Lake Superior). Which was very nice. Our site had a few trees and scrubs between us and the water, But we could still see it and hear it. We were actually on Munising Bay. We had a nice view of the South West Cornor of Grand Island. Our site was pretty big. You could have put any size RV on it ( Site #1). Our friends water site (72)was very narrow. With their awning out there was about two maybe three feet between it and their neighbors slide out. Their fire pit was right on the water. Very nice location. They had full hook up, we had water and electricity. IMHO the west end sites are the better ones. All the water sites would be good I think, simply because of the view. But as legend tell us Lake Superior can change in a minute, And it did a couple times. While enjoying our awesome campfire one of the nights with good friends and some good drink we watched a wicked lightning storm come in across the lake right at us. We watched lightning for over an hour before we had the take cover. Absolutely amazing! We rented a pontoon boat and were able to beach it right at our site to load up supplies for the days adventure. All great features which save the rating to a three star. What brought the rating down. GREED The campground was full every day. But if you were a TENT camper they would rent you any spot of grass they could. They actually asked me to move my truck over so they could put another tent at the edge of my site . I said to the manger WOW the city is getting pretty GREEDY he replied no it's for the safety of tired travelers needing a place to rest. What a crock of you know what!!! Well since this got so long I'll cut the rest short!! The bathrooms were Okay not the cleanest, but not terrible. Showers were the same Okay not terrible. Grounds crew not friendly and drive their golf carts and side by sides WAY TO FAST in a campground. IMHO And the policy of ... if your not on a water site just cut right thru anybody's site anytime is BS!!!! Why not have designated trails to the beach?
