Sam Smith's Gloria 2023 tour setlist in full

Sam Smith is taking their Unholy show on the road. 

After a sterling 2022 - which saw Kim Petras collaboration Unholy light up TikTok and became Sam's eighth UK Number 1 single - the start of the year saw Sam issue their fourth LP Gloria.

Debuting at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart in January, Gloria became Sam's third chart-topping album in the UK , and the ultimate testament to a record that sees Sam collaborate with the likes of Calvin Harris, Koffee and Jessie Reyez on a body of work that truly sees them step into themselves, fully informed by club and queer culture, as well as their most dance-orientated work of pop yet.

Given this, the Gloria Tour, which started yesterday (April 12) in Sheffield, is a hell of a show. Split into three parts, Love, Beauty and Sex (how very Natalia Kills), the setlist takes skipping steps through tracks from all of Sam's albums, slowly ramping up in tempo and pace, before a glorious bacchanal finale.

Here Is Sam Smith’s ‘Gloria The Tour’ Setlist

Sam Smith has plenty of material to choose from for their headlining Gloria The Tour , which began in Miami on July 25 and will next treat fans at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina on Tuesday, August 1.

For starters, the tour’s namesake, Gloria , arrived as Smith’s fourth studio album in late January. “Unholy” with Kim Petras led the way — making history as a No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and Grammy-winning smash . More recently, Smith contributed to the Barbie soundtrack and dropped “ Desire ” with Calvin Harris.

Sailors, rejoice — the official tracklist for Sam Smith ‘s long-awaited new album has finally arrived.

After teasing fans about the album one day prior, Smith revealed the titles of all 13 tracks off of their upcoming fourth studio album Gloria on Thursday (Nov. 10). In doing so, Smith also unveiled that the album has a number of featured artists set to join them, including Ed Sheeran , R&B- pop singer Jessie Reyez , Reggae performer Koffee and, of course, pop princess Kim Petras .

Reyez is set to appear on two of the album’s tracks — her name appears next to track four, titled “Perfect,” as well as track nine, titled “Gimme.” Koffee also makes an appearance on “Gimme,” while Sheeran will help close out the album on “Who We Love.”

While their collaborations with Sheeran, Koffee and Petras mark firsts for the singer, Smith and Reyez have worked together in the past — the pair teamed up with Calvin Harris for the DJ’s2018 single “ Promises .”

'Gloria' will be coming out everywhere in the new year on January 27, 2023 – not too long to go!

In Sam's initial album announcement, they wrote: "I am overjoyed to announce that my fourth album is called ‘GLORIA’. It will be yours on the 27th January 2023, and you can pre-order now.

"I’m feeling overwhelmed and emotional as I start to let go of Gloria and hand this work over to you. It has been magical in every way to make this piece of music and by giving this record to you I am giving you part of my heart and soul," they affectionately wrote on Instagram.

Sam Smith's 'Gloria' tracklist unveiled

In the run-up to Sam's first album drop in three years, the musician finally unveiled their tracklist on November 10.

'Gloria' is thirteen tracks long, including two interludes, two songs featuring Jessie Reyez, and Ed Sheeran joined forces with Sam on the closing tune, 'Who We Love'.

Sam Smith Schedules 27-Date ‘Gloria’ North American Tour

Sam Smith will spend their summer on the road completing a 27-date tour in support of their forthcoming fourth studio album Gloria , set for release on January 27.

The tour will begin on July 25 at FTX Arena in Miami, Florida, with support from Jessie Reyez, who will join them for all but one date. Smith will make stops in Orlando, Nashville, New York, Toronto, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, Houston, Monterrey, and more before concluding on Sept. 14 at Palacio de Los Deportes in Cuidad de Mexico.

General sale for the Gloria tour begins Friday, Jan. 13, at 9 a.m. local time. Full details are available on the official Sam Smith website .

Sam Smith Reveals 'Gloria' Tracklist Including Ed Sheeran Collab

Sam Smith has shared the full tracklist for their highly-anticipated new album Gloria . On Thursday night (November 10th), the singer shared the titles of the 13 tracks that will be included on their upcoming fourth studio album, including a number of high-profile collaborations .

In addition to their previously released collab with pop princess Kim Petras , "Unholy," Smith will also be teaming up with the likes of Ed Sheeran , Jessie Reyez , and Koffee . Reyez's R&B-pop vocals will be featured on tracks four, "Perfect," and track nine, "Gimmie," which also features Reggae artist Koffee.

Fans will likely be most excited to hear Smith team up with Sheeran. The hitmaker will help Smith close out their album with the final track called "Who We Love."

While announcing the album last month , Smith sent fans a heartfelt message about the upcoming release. "I’m feeling overwhelmed and emotional as I start to let go of Gloria and hand this work over to you. To celebrate their new UK tour, Sam Smith has announced a Special Edition of Gloria . Leading the track list of this new version is “Kissing You”–a fan favorite that features on the set list of Gloria: The Tour.

This spellbinding cover of Des’ree’s classic song was first performed by Sam at Harris Reed’s London fashion show in 2022.

The tour kicks off tonight, April 12, in Sheffield. Smith will also perform multiple dates in London, LA, New York, Sydney, and more. The tour promises to celebrate Sam’s first decade in music and their journey to “Unholy” and beyond.

Earlier this month, Smith and Kim Petras became the latest inductees into the company’s Billions Club , after the pair’s hit single “Unholy”  crossed the one billion streams mark.

It was Smith’s fifth song to enter the Billions Club (following his tracks “Stay With Me,” “I’m Not the Only One,” “Too Good at Goodbyes,” and “Dancing With a Stranger”) and Petras’ first.

To celebrate the news, Smith took to their social media to share a compilation video of the song’s success, sharing behind-the-scenes clips from the shoot of the music video, as well as viral dance challenges, beauty tutorials ,and covers of the track from TikTok. At the conclusion, Smith wrote: “Thank you.”

When Smith released their highly anticipated new album  Gloria  at the end of January, they also shared a video for “I’m Not Here To Make Friends.”

The track was produced by Calvin Harris and is accompanied by flamboyant visuals directed by Tanu Muino (Lil Nas X, Harry Styles, Normani). Dressed in pink, Smith steps out of a gold helicopter to be greeted by a Bacchanalian-inspired celebration.

Gloria , as a whole, finds Smith making both creative and personal revelations. Their third album so far, the record discovers what it means to be truly free – being in touch with your innermost self. Aided by celebrated female figures from its creator’s musical circles like  Kim Petras  (the global smash hit  “Unholy” ),  Jessie Reyez , and Koffee (both on  “Gimme” ), it also explores themes of sex, passion, self-expression, and imperfection.

With an uncommonly powerful voice and a debut album that garnered four Grammys , Sam Smith easily could have stayed in the same lane for their entire career — beautifully sung songs about heartbreak and longing in a smooth, sometimes slick pop-R&B vein with a dazzling array of vocal pyrotechnics. But after three albums, so much heartache and moping began to feel like a third dinner with your recent-big-breakup friend.

The album opens deceptively with “Love Me More,” a gospel-inflected self-care song that places its empowering but sometimes dark lyrics — “Every day I’m trying not to hate myself” — over a sincere, sing-song melody that seems more suited to a John Legend or Jon Batiste (or, honestly, a TV commercial). But from there the album shifts into gear with three R&B-tinged songs that swing between the low-key disco of “Lose You” to the sultry “Perfect,” a duet with Canadian-Colombian singer Jessie Reyez that sums up one of the album’s themes: “I’m not perfect, but I’m worth it/ I’m not perfect, but I’m working on it.”

How do you follow that? With a gentle acoustic ballad called “How to Cry,” of course. The album’s sequence proceeds masterfully, ebbing and flowing in mood and sound, dropping down with the post-coital slow jam “Six Shots,” picking up again with the pinging electro single “Gimme,” and climaxing with an irresistible disco anthem that could well be Smith’s next No. 1 and the song of this summer, “I’m Not Here to Make Friends.” A collaboration with Reyez and DJ titan Calvin Harris, it’s embellished with a Chic groove, sparkling strings and a sassy title that will inspire countless don’t-f-with-me finger-pointing on dancefloors, but the real payoff comes in the response: “I’m not here to make friends/ I need a lover.” (And may we respectfully suggest that a remix featuring Dua Lipa would be stunning.)

Naturally, that energy peak is followed with something drastically different: the hymn-like, vocals-only title track, which was recorded with a full choir in the medieval-era church Smith attended as a child (and which they performed on “Saturday Night Live” last weekend with a surprise appearance from actor Sharon Stone). The song features just the choir for the first minute, until Smith’s voice comes soaring in, evoking images of angels on a church ceiling; although they’ve described it as “my queer anthem,” the lyrics are fairly elliptical and again are counterintuitive to the music — demons and monsters in the first verse, empowerment in the second. But the spiritual themes of a song called “Gloria” sung by a medieval-sounding church choir could not be more obvious.  

It seems like the finale, but it’s not: The album closes with “We Love Who We Love,” a gentle, hand-on-the-shoulder duet with Ed Sheeran that leaves the listener, no doubt intentionally, with the words, “So let go/ You don’t know better than your heart knows/ We love who we love.”

For such a musically far-reaching album — with 11 fully realized songs in just over 33 minutes, no less — it’s surprising that Smith and longtime musical collaborator Jimmy Napes worked mostly with just two teams: the long-running multiplatinum Norwegian duo Stargate (Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Rihanna) and the quartet of Ilya, Cirkut, Blake Slatkin and Omer Fedi (Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, the Weeknd, Lil Nas X, Justin Bieber between them), although “We Love Who We Love” was helmed with longtime Sheeran collaborator Johnny Mac.

Their contributions can’t be understated, but there’s no question that this is Smith’s story. “It feels like emotional, sexual and spiritual liberation,” they said of the album when it was announced last fall. “Oddly, it feels like my first-ever record. And it feels like a coming of age.” With songs that are both sacred and profane, with R&B and pop and disco and chorales, “Gloria” is all of that and more.

Sam Smith describes the energy of their GLORIA the tour in three simple words: “Joy, art, sex.” The pop icon tells Apple Music that they've been waiting to put on a show like this their whole life, and they're especially antsy after years of lockdown. “For so long during the pandemic, people weren’t able to come together to experience a live event,” they say. “This show touches on all the senses and brings together the most spectacular chorus line of people.” The production features choreography by (LA)HORDE, a Marseille, France-based collective known for their boundary-pushing and political work, as well as show-stopping bespoke costumes by Valentino. For Smith, the performance is also a homecoming of sorts. “I can finally see my incredible fans and we can all celebrate Gloria together [in a way] that only the live experience can.”

Sam Smith cancels concert after 4 songs due to vocal issues: 'I am honestly heartbroken'

Sam Smith was way too good at goodbye Wednesday night.

The English pop singer, who is currently touring in support of their fourth album, Gloria , abruptly cut short their latest concert at Manchester's AO Arena, citing vocal issues.

In a statement posted to their Instagram story, Smith wrote, "Dearest sailors, I don't know what to say honestly. I fought off a virus a few weeks ago and since then we have travelled across Europe and had such incredible shows. Today in soundcheck I felt fine and was so excited to give Manchester an amazing show tonight, with a special surprise at the end."

Smith continued: "During my third song, I noticed something wrong with my voice. I prayed it was just my voice waking up for the show but into the fourth song I could feel something was really wrong. I came off stage and have tried everything to get my voice back in gear but it won't. I am honestly heartbroken I couldn't finish the show tonight for you all. I love you all. I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry x."

According to local reports and videos posted on social media, Smith exited the stage after the first few tracks and was absent for some time. The arena dimmed the lights, leading some concertgoers to speculate the power had been cut. Fans were eventually told that the concert was canceled and asked to leave the arena.

Representatives for Smith and AO Arena didn't immediately respond to EW's requests for further comment.

This isn't the first time Smith has battled vocal challenges. In 2015, they suffered a vocal chord hemorrhage , prompting them to cancel tour dates in Australia, Manila, and Tokyo. Smith underwent a procedure and was on vocal rest for two months before returning to touring that summer.

Smith launched their current tour in April, weeks after they and Kim Petras won the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Unholy."
