Getting around the island of Ireland by coach is a pretty nifty way of experiencing the island. You have no worries about maps or directions, and can happily watch the countryside glide by in comfort.

Leap Visitor Card

The Leap Visitor Card is a prepaid pass that allows you to travel on all Dublin Bus and Airlink 747 buses, as well as Dublin's Luas and DART for a whole 72 hours (3 days) from its first use.

Just hold your card to the Touch On Leap Card Validator as you board the bus. If you're travelling on the DART or LUAS, remember to Touch Off when you alight or leave the station and the journey is registered on your Leap Card. It's that easy.

If you're a foreign exchange student you can get a Leap Trainee Card through your language school or directly from Dublin Bus, so you can hop on to the Luas, DART, Iarnród Éireann’s short-hop zone and Dublin Bus at your convenience. As the capital of Ireland, Dublin has a huge amount of things to do, no matter if you’re a solo traveller or large group.

Guinness Storehouse

The iconic Dublin stout has been made on the riverfront of the Liffey since its inception, touting the kind of rich history few brands can match.

The storehouse tour takes you through the processes through which the beverage gets made, all the way from farm to glass. From there it takes you through some of the history of Guinness as a brand, including the legendary advertising that has led to the famous phrases of “my goodness, my Guinness!” and “a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle”.

Once the tour has given you a sufficient appreciation for Guinness as a brand, you’ll finally get to taste the black stuff. No ordinary tasting session, this multi-sensory experience includes a series of smell tests and even a room with the perfect décor for tasting the world-famous drink. As you’d expect, this pint lives up to its reputation as the best pint of Guinness in the world.

A little slice of classical beauty in the urban sprawl, Trinity College is one of the most beautiful colleges in Dublin, and shares in the city’s rich history.

Our recommendations is the Natural History Museum, where you can see the eerily well preserved bog bodies and the National Gallery of Ireland, featuring a newly refurbished gallery and one of the best classical art collections in Europe.

Find a great local pub

Dublin (and Ireland in general) is stereotypically famous for its pubs. James Joyce famously said that it would be a great puzzle to try and “cross Dublin without passing a pub” and the challenge only gets harder and harder. There are enough pubs in Dublin to satisfy any and all features you could want in a pub.

Our recommendation is P Macs, off George’s Street. Featuring a cosy environment where you can sink into an amazingly comfy couch or, just as easily, be using a piano as your table, P Macs has a wide variety of craft beers from all over the world for you to sample and enjoy. If you are stuck you could ask the very knowledgeable and friendly staff and they will provide you with a personalised recommendation based on what other drinks you like.

As if that wasn’t enough to keep you entertained, there are a good number of classic board games to keep you and your friends happy and competitive all night long.

This tour was so good! We experienced more of Ireland than the itinerary indicated (because of stops we made along our journey, which I loved!), but never felt rushed. Our guide Diarmuid is such a professional - he provided us with interesting information about the places we stopped and Ireland in general, kept us on schedule with a relaxed demeanor, and is genuinely a very nice person. I've never traveled with a tour group before and this one couldn't have been any better. Glendalough Tour

Glendalough, translated to the “Valley of the Two Lakes” in the Irish language, is famous for its magnificent scenery and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Wicklow. Glendalough offers stunning landscape, historic ruins and beautiful walks.

Just over 1-hour south of Dublin City, Glendalough is situated in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains National Park.

The ancient monastery at Glendalough was founded in the 6th century by St. Kevin. The monastic remains, set in a glaciated valley with two lakes, include a fabulous round tower, stone churches and a Celtic high cross. The round tower is approximately 30 meters high and is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the area. The remains of three stone crosses and a stone fort can be found between the upper and lower lakes. Relax and take your time exploring Glendalough, enjoying its beautiful and remote setting with an atmosphere of total tranquillity.

Powerscourt House & Gardens Tour

Powerscourt House and Gardens are situated in Wicklow, overlooking the Sugarloaf Mountain. Here you will experience beautiful walled gardens of rare plants from around the world and the famous Japanese Gardens. After you have explored the fantastic sculptures, water features and gardens of the estate, you can enjoy lunch at the Avoca Terrace Café with a beautiful view of the Sugarloaf Mountain.
