TUI Cruises is a 50:50 joint venture, based in Hamburg, between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises. The business was founded in 2008 and operates in the premium volume segment. There are seven vessels in the fleet: Mein Schiff was launched in May 2009, followed in 2011 by Mein Schiff 2. Mein Schiff 3 has been plying the waves since May 2014, and was joined by the fourth sister ship in June 2015. Mein Schiff 5 was commissioned in July 2016. Mein Schiff 6 joined the fleet in May 2017. In spring 2018 the new Mein Schiff 1 was launched. The previous Mein Schiff 1 vessel was transfered to Marella Cruises’ fleet as Marella Explorer. 1. No costs for arrival and departure : Flights covered by the hiring company (Sea Chefs)

We take over the organisation and costs for your arrival as well as for the departure after the end of the contract for you. The prerequisite for this is a properly concluded contract. Your contact person will provide you in advance with all the information you need to travel by plane or train. If you book and pay independently, you will receive the amount back if you travel by train within Germany.

2. No costs for food, drink or accommodation :

Your accommodation and meals on board are free of charge . We value a balanced and healthy diet for our international crew members – this includes the three main meals of the day including drinks . On the ocean-going cruise ships there is even the possibility to end the workday at the crew bar.

3. Uniform / work clothing / appearance:

All crew members are required to wear uniform when on duty. The work uniform is either provided by the hiring company or partially organised by you – this depends on the respective position and fleet. Your uniform needs to be clean, tidy and ironed at all times. This is usually done free of charge by the laundry on board – so you do not need any ironing skills. Always show your best side: Depending on the cruise line and position, there are individual guidelines regarding appearance. You can get more detailed information from the subpages of the respective cruise lines.

4. Health insurance

With your work on board, you are automatically insured for health and accidents. In the onboard hospital, our onboard doctors will be there for you for medical cases. Therefore, please check before you embark whether you can interrupt your existing health insurance. You can then claim this again between your contracts on board.

On request and under certain conditions, you can take advantage of discounted, private supplementary health insurance through the hiring company. They offer this exclusively together with Allianz Worldwide Care. Inquire about this individually from your Crewing Officer after the conclusion of the contract.
