Multi-platinum-selling rock band All Time Low have announced "The Sound Of Letting Go On Tour," a North American fall headline trek featuring special guests Gym Class Heroes, Grayscale, and Lauren Hibberd.

The 21-city tour will kick off on September 8 with a hometown show in Baltimore, MD, visit major markets coast-to-coast, and wrap on October 17 in Portland, OR [full itinerary below]. Pre-sale tickets will be available beginning today, and general on-sale will kick off this Friday, April 28 at 10:00am local time HERE .

Next month, All Time Low will hit the road for leg one of "Tell Me I'm Alive On Tour" with support from Mayday Parade and Games We Play. The 25-city North American Trek includes two special shows of legendary proportions that quickly sold out - the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO which All Time Low is headlining for the first time on May 23; and a special unplugged performance at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on May 18 that will kick off the epic headlining tour.

Additionally, All Time Low will appear at When We Were Young Festival 2023 in Las Vegas this October. A complete list of upcoming tour dates and ticket information can be found HERE .

All Time Low's latest studio album Tell Me I'm Alive was released last month, and is available HERE via Fueled By Ramen. The 13-track collection marks All Time Low's first full-length album in three years and ushers in an exciting new era for the band.

Recorded in Los Angeles and Aspen with longtime collaborators Zakk Cervini [blink-182, Machine Gun Kelly, Halsey] and Andrew Goldstein [Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Jxdn], the album is a gut punch of renegade riffs and intense introspection that finds the band reaching thrilling new heights of creativity.

Highlighted songs on Tell Me I'm Alive include the new soul-baring chant-along focus track "Calm Down," as well as the "Sleepwalking," which hit No. 1 at Alternative Radio, the emotional title track "Tell Me I'm Alive," and "Modern Love," the anti-dating anthem ironically released on Valentine's Day. All Time Low recently delivered the network television debut performance of "Calm Down" on Good Morning America.

Of the album, frontman Alex Gaskarth states, "'Tell Me I'm Alive' is an exploration of loneliness, isolation, and coping with the pitfalls of a world that feels like it's out to get you after collectively going through several very tumultuous years kicked off by the pandemic.

It is not a 'pandemic record,' per se, but written on the heels of such a life-changing event, its themes are certainly focused through and informed by that lens; Some songs echo defiance and a desire to escape, others are reflective and remorseful over lost time and longing for deeper connections and deeper meaning.

We wanted to instill a hopeful tone, but ultimately this album is about dealing with hopelessness and surviving. We hope our fans find comfort in the understanding that even at our lowest points, there can be forward motion, growth, the strength to let go of what no longer serves us, and ultimately a message of resilience."

About All Time Low

All Time Low have undeniably, albeit unassumingly carved out their own corner of popular culture. The multi-platinum Maryland quartet have toppled charts, sold out arenas worldwide, and served up a series of instantly irresistible anthems in the process.

Their catalog consists of five consecutive Top 10 albums on the Billboard Top 200 in addition to picking up multi-platinum, platinum, and gold certifications. Speaking to their impact, Rolling Stone even named So Wrong, It's Right among its "50 Greatest Pop Punk Albums." In 2020, they ascended to a new commercial and critical high watermark with their eighth full-length LP, Wake Up, Sunshine.

Following a #1 debut on the Top Rock Albums chart, it spawned the biggest hit of the band's career thus far, "Monsters" [feat. blackbear]. It clinched #1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart for an unprecedented 18 weeks, emerging as the longest charting song ever at the Modern Rock format.

In addition to going platinum, it notably garnered "Alternative Rock Song of the Year" at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, while superstar Demi Lovato teamed up with the group for the Official Remix. Meanwhile, the mainstream came to them as they delivered show-stopping performances everywhere from Bonnaroo and Firefly to The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ellen, Good Morning America, and beyond.

All Time Low releases ‘Modern Love’, announces 2023 North American tour

The band will play more than 20 dates this spring & summer

All Time Low has released “ Modern Love ,” a new anti-dating anthem from their upcoming album, Tell Me I’m Alive out March 17th along with the official video. The band also shared that its embarking on the Tell Me I’m Alive Tour featuring more than 20 dates this spring and summer with special guests Mayday Parade and Games We Play.

Like the song itself, the “Modern Love” music video explores the highs and lows of dating in the 21st century. Set inside Gaskarth’s heart, the video is a visual feast starring the frontman as “Mr. Modern Love” in a glittery red Elton John-esque suit as he alternates between heartbreak and passion.

“‘Modern Love’s a beautiful disaster’ are the words of a desperate, love-sick soul and the main character of our newest song ‘Modern Love,’ who is obsessed with the quest for connection in a world that’ll often break your heart,” states Gaskarth. “The visual piece that accompanies the single and continues the through-line started with ‘Sleepwalking’ was co-directed by myself and our good friend Lupe Bustos. We’re happy it’s out on the heels of our just announced, full US tour. We’re hitting the road with long-time friends Mayday Parade and one of our favorite new artists, Games We Play, routed around the special events we are hosting at The Ryman and Red Rocks. Can’t wait to see you all out there, and we hope you love ‘Modern Love.’”

The North American tour includes two previously announced shows of legendary proportions that quickly sold out – the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO which All Time Low is headlining for the first time on May 23rd; and a special unplugged performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on May 18th.

Tickets will be available February 17th at 10 am local via alltimelow.com .

The news comes shortly after the band landed their second career No. 1 single with “Sleepwalking” from the upcoming album hitting the top spot on alternative radio and amassing almost 10 million streams, marking their third song to secure a coveted top five position on the chart.

All Time Low recently took home Alternative Rock Song of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards for the record-breaking Platinum-certified smash “Monsters” feat Blackbear. The song previously clinched No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart for an unprecedented 18 weeks, emerging as the longest charting song ever at the modern rock format.

All Time Low to Celebrate 20-Year Anniversary with Gigs at Legendary Venues

All Time Low has made a name for themselves in the pop-punk scene over the last 20 years, topping charts and stealing hearts. Now, they’re celebrating two decades of music with a special three-date run at iconic U.S. venues.

Over the past week, the four-piece band hinted at the news with cryptic social media posts. They deleted all previous pictures on their Instagram, and only listed one phrase: “All Time Low Forever,” along with the logo for their album Future Hearts.

On Monday, the group posted a compilation of videos throughout their career, noting, “when we started this band, we were kids, we were just learning how to write songs and book shows, at the same time, we were learning how to drive.”

View this post on Instagram   A post shared by All Time Low (@alltimelow)

“We had no lofty expectations for how far this band would go,” frontman Alex Gaskarth said in the video. “We just had this relentless drive to play shows for as many people as we could in as many places as we could. The music was always a vessel to get us to the stage, to find a sense of belonging in a community of people who, like us, were looking for a place to belong.”

Gaskarth noted that “it hasn’t always been easy staying on the road for the better part of 20 years, and we’ve experienced our share of growing pains along the way for sure, but through it all, we’re always called back to the stage.” He said that as a “thank you” to fans, they’re throwing a series of shows to celebrate 20 years of “doing the damn thing together.”

The three-date run kicks-off at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on June 4, 2024, followed by a gig at The Salt Shed in Chicago, Illinois on July 26. They’ll wrap-up in their home state of Maryland at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia on August 24. Additionally, they’ll hold a pair of gigs in Washington, D.C.  — one at The Atlantis and one at the 9:30 Club — which are only available when purchased with a Merriweather Post Pavilion ticket.

“These shows will be our most ambitious yet, and if you’ve been along for the ride with us, you won’t want to miss out on this unforgettable experience…” All Time Low promised in a statement. “All of us together, All Time Low. Forever.”

A “Future Hearts Club” artist presale is available on Tuesday, December 12 at 10 a.m., followed by a general on sale Friday, December 15 at 10 a.m. via AllTimeLow.com . Fans can also score tickets via secondary sites MEGASeats (use the code “TICKETNEWS” for 10% off your order), StubHub , or Ticket Club, where readers can obtain a free membership and avoid service fees with the code “TICKETNEWS.”

All Time Low first arrived on the scene in 2006 with Put Up Or Shut Up, followed by 2007’s So Wrong, It’s Right . They immediately garnered attention with tracks like “Dear Maria, Count Me In,” “Poppin’ Champagne,” and “Jasey Rae.” In 2009, their breakthrough album Nothing Personal arrived with fan-favorites “Weightless,” “Lost In Stereo,” and the gut-wrenching ballad “Therapy.”

While years came and went, the group continued with six more albums, including 2023’s Tell Me I’m Alive , which produced singles “Calm Down” and “Sleepwalking.” They’ve since been compared among the likes of pop-punk giants Fall Out Boy and blink-182, became Warped Tour veterans and appeared at the emo revival fest When We Were Young, and collaborated with the likes of “Pop-Punk Princess” Avril Lavigne and pop star Demi Lovato.

Recent tour reviews

Took my daughter to her absolute favorite band for her sweet 16. It was cool because it was her actual birthday on the day of the concert. We got box seats so that we could sit if we wanted and not be on the floor and risk not being able to see, and avoid potential mosh pits! It was excellent. One person did fall and had a hard time but the lead singer of ATL stopped the concert and brought in security to get the person off the floor to safety and got them checked out. That was really cool. Never been to a concert where that happened. We missed Dashboard Confessional, but that couldn’t be helped. We have never been to the Fillmore venue and we were not disappointed!

This was my first All Time Low concert and I enjoyed it so much. I already loved the band yet somehow, I seemed to love them even more after the show. The streamers, the confetti and the lights were an amazing asset to the performance and I really, really, really hope that they tour again in England and I get to see them again. Their charisma was like nothing I was expecting and the general atmosphere supported by the boys (men really) was amazing. Everyone was singing, dancing, jumping, raving and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Dear Maria Count Me In in the encore was extraordinary and it was very sentimental as it was from So Wrong It’s Right. Kids In The Dark and Lost In Stereo were two of my favourite songs played at the show, and somehow again, I’ve come to love them even more. Dark Side Of Your Room was and addition to the setlist and my friends and I were thrilled with the change. It was a shame Pierce the Veil didn’t tour due to certain circumstances, but Creeper got the crowd going wild before ATL even came out. I would definitely see All Time Low again, and hopefully they’ll perform the same setlist but with a new album soon!

As it was my first time seeing All Time Low, I wasn't quite sure, what to expect. That being said - I was not disappointed!

First of all, let me recommend you that if this is your first time to a Show like this and you're uncomfortable in a crowd, avoid the Center of the crowd, as this is where it gets really wild and you're very likely to be squashed or jumped on (in a harmless way).

The band's Performance was amazing, packing out all of their greatest Songs, you are sure to hear your favourite, with Alex' live vocals sounding as clear as they do on CD, whether it's while jumping around to Kids In The Dark or performing a quieter Version of Therapy.

On stage banter and crowd interaction also didn't come too short, with the crowd being encouraged to sing and jump along, or even get up on peoples' shoulders.

If you feel like it, bring along a spare bra to throw up on stage and Show your love.

All Time Low 2023 Tour Announcement – Tell Me I’m Alive Tour Schedule

All Time Low is taking the stage in a city near you, joined by their friends in Mayday Parade and Games We Play! The pop-punk heroes will kick off the “Tell Me I’m Alive tour” on May 18th in Nashville, TN, continuing for 21 stops through June 17th in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Despite their pessimistic band name, the year 2023 is going to be majorly epic for All Time Low. Their ninth album, Tell Me I’m Alive, is set for release in March, while the music video for the titular track has already garnered over half a million views on YouTube. That song, combined with the second single and anti-dating anthem, “Modern Love” has heightened the hype for this new era of All Time Low…. and it’s well-deserved. They’re celebrating twenty years together as a band in 2023, after all, and they’re going to ensure that this All Time Low tour goes down in history.

For the record, that’s saying quite a lot, as All Time Low has long been known for their fun-filled live shows. Frontman Alex Gaskarth provides comedic relief between songs and even pulls the occasional fan onstage for guest vocals, while the rest of the band plays along with the confetti cannons, crowd-surfing, and crude-but-catchy lyrics that fans have loved for two decades. Classic songs like “Dear Maria, Count Me In,” “Remembering Sunday,” “Weightless,” and Damned if I Do Ya” will all be played at these All Time Low concerts, plus new tracks that will soon earn a spot on your favorite pop-punk playlists.

We’re happy it’s out on the heels of our just announced, full US tour.” And we’re just as happy to see you out on the road, Alex!

The band has taken a noticeably more mature direction over the past couple of years, singing about the more serious subject matter than they did as 20-somethings on the Warped Tour in the mid-2000s. However, they’re still the jokesters you know and love, and the self-professed “Blink 182 cover band” can’t wait to show you what they’re up to in 2023. Get your All Time Low tickets today!

Tour Diary: See All Time Low's Favorite Photos & Memories From The Sound Of Letting Go Tour

Go backstage with All Time Low on their 2023 fall tour across North America with Gym Class Heroes and Lauran Hibberd, from playing an acoustic show in the rain to returning to some of their favorite venues.

Even after 20 years, All Time Low still relish their time on stage every night. And as frontman Alex Gaskarth said just a week after starting their latest trek, "there's some kinda magic happening on this tour."

Perhaps it's the fact that the Baltimore-born pop-punk band have new music to perform (their ninth album, Tell Me I'm Alive dropped in March), or that they're sharing the stage with longtime buddies Gym Class Heroes. But whatever it is, The Sound Of Letting Go Tour is a special one for the band and their fans alike.

With a few shows left to go on the North American stretch, All Time Low shared some of their favorite onstage and behind-the-scenes moments from the 25-date trek, which wraps in Portland, Oregon, on Oct. 17. (But they're far from done — they'll play the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, followed by five dates in Australia in November and another five in Brazil in March 2024.)

Below, check out a collection of photos from All Time Low's The Sound Of Letting Go Tour, captioned by Gaskarth himself.

We've known each other for a long time and go way back to the days that we were still just starting out as a band in high school, opening up for Gym Class Heroes at the Otto Bar in Baltimore. It's great to be back out on the road and sharing the stage with them now.

All Time Low Boston 2

Sept. 10 — MGM Music Hall, Boston, Massachusetts: This is one of my favorite pics our photographer Salma Bustos captured of me during a piano break in the set. She's always spotting the special moments, but there's something really classic-feeling about this picture.

All Time Low Boston 3

Sept. 10 — MGM Music Hall, Boston, Massachusetts: Life on the road is all about finding balance between the extreme highs of the stage and the quiet moments. It's not always easy to feel totally normal out here, so the little comforts of watching a football game with all the boys can be super grounding. Here we are cheering on the Ravens backstage in Boston, while the Orioles played the Red Sox literally right next door.

All Time Low New York 1

Sept. 12 — The Rooftop at Pier 17, New York, New York: This is Trav straight-up embarrassing me with his piano prowess in New York.

All Time Low New York 2

Sept. 12 — The Rooftop at Pier 17, New York, New York: Every day we throw a soundcheck party for a smaller group of fans where they can experience some tunes a bit more up-close and personal, ask us some questions, hang out and be merry. I feel like it's a cool way to interact with our most invested listeners and have some laughs about old songs and what we had for breakfast.

All Time Low Baltimore 2

Sept. 14 — Maryland State Fair, Baltimore, MD: This is Jack trying to be as cool as [opener] Lauran Hibberd and her bandmates. Unfortunately it's just not possible to be as cool as they are because they're English (and fortunately I am too).

All Time Low Philly 1

Sept. 17 — The Fillmore Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Who doesn't love confetti at a rock show?! Always makes the crowd go nuts and makes for some amazing photos. This was the opening of our show, setting things off with a bang.

All Time Low Philly 2

Sept. 17 — The Fillmore Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: We recently released a new track featuring Avril Lavigne , who obviously isn't out on the road with us but was kind enough to film some rad content to add into our show to make the song really come to life. This picture is the first time we played the song live, I think!

All Time Low Montreal

Sept. 19, 2023 — L'Olympia, Montreal, Quebec: We wanted to add an element of theater to our live show and nothing beats a simulated curtain opening to set the stage during what's become one of the rowdiest songs in our set, "Calm Down."

All Time Low Detroit

Sept. 22 — The Fillmore, Detroit, Michigan: Lauran's been joining us on stage every night to perform our song "PMA." She had the best outfits and is probably the best dressed on the tour. Here I am during our show probably thinking about what I need to do to step up my wardrobe game.

All Time Low Chicago

Sept. 23 — Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom, Chicago, Illinois: A big ol' sold out show at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago! One of my favorite venues to play and this show in particular was a highlight of the tour. Amazing energy from the crowd and so much nonstop dancing.

All Time Low Atlanta

Sept. 27 — Coca Cola Roxy, Atlanta, Georgia: This is one of my favorite moments in the set. We bring someone on stage to push a button that randomly selects one of four old ATL songs. Looks like this night we landed on "Vegas" and high-fived it out because we were all happy with that outcome.

All Time Low Tampa

Sept. 29 — The Ritz Ybor, Tampa, Florida: Pretty sure this is James, Lauran's drummer, doing his best impersonation of [All Time Low's drummer] Rian [Dawson]'s drumming backstage in Tampa. Gotta get your mean face on.

All Time Low Phoenix

Oct. 6 — The Van Buren, Phoenix, Arizona: After-show pizza, video games and our good friends in Grayscale kicking it in the green room.

8 Times Dance Stars Channeled Their Inner Punk Kid, From Deadmau5 & Gerard Way To Rezz & Silverstein

With the release of Rezz's new emo-loving EP, 'It's Not A Phase,' dig into eight songs that saw the dance and rock worlds collide.

At first glance, the worlds of rock and dance music might appear diametrically opposed. Dig a little deeper, though, and the two genres share more than just a love for all-black outfits.

In recent years, a wave of dance stars have embraced their inner mosher by collaborating with their favorite metal, post-hardcore, emo, and pop-punk artists, creating a mutant sound with a foot in both spaces. Just this month, Canada's dark bass maestro Rezz released a winkingly titled EP, It's Not A Phase , which channels the punk and metal she loved as a teen. (On release day, she posted an old photo in front of a My Chemical Romance poster, with the caption, "this one's for everyone who had an emo phase.")

The EP followed Illenium's self-titled album in April — which features several of the Denver producer's rock heroes — while the likes of Marshmello , Kayzo and Excision have also tried their hands at rock/dance collaborations. For DJ-producers who grew up on raw guitars and tear-the-house-down vocals, it's a natural next step.

Of course, this mixing of worlds is not just a recent phenomenon. For decades, dance artists have remixed, borrowed from, and occasionally collaborated with their rock counterparts. From the punkish ferocity of the Prodigy 's 1997 album The Fat of the Land to Justice's Slipknot -sampling "Genesis" ten years later, the examples are endless.

In the decade since the EDM boom minted a new generation of superstars, crossover collaborations have increasingly positioned the dance artist in the lead. In honor of this phenomenon, we're head-banging our way through eight of the best.

deadmau5 feat. Gerard Way — "Professional Griefers" (2012)

Back in 2012, as EDM was taking over America, deadmau5 was busy touring an early iteration of his eye-popping 'Cube' show and preparing to release his sixth studio album, > album title goes here < . Ahead of the LP, the producer born Joel Zimmerman released "Professional Griefers," a hard-charging dance-rock stomper featuring My Chemical Romance vocalist Gerard Way.

While fans had already heard an instrumental version of the track in deadmau5's live shows, Way's vampy vocals brought the rock swagger, even as the production remained resolutely electronic. To celebrate the release, the collaborators appeared as gamers piloting a UFC battle between two giant mau5-headed robots in what Zimmerman told SPIN was "one of the highest-budget electronic music videos of all time ." And yes, it's as extra as it sounds.

Steve Aoki feat. Fall Out Boy — "Back To Earth" (2014)

Steve Aoki is one of dance music's most voracious collaborators, teaming up with everyone from will.i.am to Louis Tomlinson to Backstreet Boys . He's also a punk rocker from way back, having jumped between hardcore bands as a singer and guitarist in his pre-fame life.

These passions have intersected throughout Aoki's DJ/producer career in his collaborations with Linkin Park and blink-182 , as well as Rifoki, the straight-up hardcore band he formed with Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo of the Bloody Beetroots.

In 2014, Aoki joined forces with pop-punk favorites Fall Out Boy on "Back To Earth," which featured on his collab-stacked album, Neon Future I . In an interview with Billboard , Aoki explained that the band worked on their live instrumentation in a separate studio before he added the dance elements, and the result was "one of my favorite rock collaborations."

The Bloody Beetroots feat. Jason Butler — "Crash" (2017)

Like his friend and collaborator Steve Aoki, the Bloody Beetroots' masked leader Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo is a punk at heart. That raucous spirit was present on the breakout Aoki/Beetroots team-up, "Warp 1.9" (2009), then turned up to 11 in their aforementioned hardcore band, Rifoki.

In 2017, after a few years away from the limelight, Sir Rifo delivered the third Bloody Beetroots album, The Great Electronic Swindle , featuring guests like Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell , GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Greta Svabo Bech , and Australian rock band Jet.

On "Crash," the Italian producer hooked up with post-hardcore singer Jason Butler , of Letlive and Fever 333 , to make a heavy, distorted and shouty head-banger that honors both of their styles. In true punk fashion, it's over and out in just over two minutes.

Kayzo & Underoath — "Wasted Space" (2018)

Few DJ-producers relish the opportunity to slam together dance music and rock quite like Houston-born Kayzo. For his 2019 album, Unleashed , the rising star secured some of his favorite metal, hardcore and pop-punk acts as guests, including Of Mice & Men, Boys of Fall, Blessthefall, and Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low.

One of the album's standouts, "Wasted Space," pairs Kayzo with Underoath , the Florida metalcore outfit who previously collaborated with Rezz on her 2019 release, "Falling." The collaboration is equal parts metal — with dueling vocalists Aaron Gillespie and Spencer Chamberlain at full-tilt — and shuddering bass drops built for an EDM main stage.

Marshmello feat. A Day To Remember — "Rescue Me" (2019)

Perma-helmeted producer Marshmello has enjoyed a whirlwind decade, with a famously prolific output that includes several dance and pop hits. In 2019, he surprised fans by announcing a team-up with Florida four-piece A Day To Remember, whose metalcore meets pop-punk sound is a far cry from Marshmello's usual vibe.

Their collaboration, "Rescue Me," finds an easy middle ground between crunching rock guitars, frontman Jeremy McKinnon's impassioned vocals, and Marshmello's skittering trap-pop beats. In an interview with Kerrang! Radio , McKinnon recalled his surprise at how quickly Marshmello shared the chorus on socials, adding that he wishes rock artists could be as spontaneous.

Illenium and All Time Low — "Back To You" (2023)

Hot on the heels of his first GRAMMY nomination in 2022, Denver-based phenom Illenium got back in the studio to make another album straight from the heart. The producer's self-titled fifth LP took inspiration from his teenage years listening to the likes of blink-182 and Linkin Park, while staying true to his own bass-heavy aesthetic.

Thanks to his stadium-filling stature, Illenium assembled a starry lineup of guests, including pop-punk royalty Avril Lavigne and Travis Barker on "Eyes Wide Shut" and metalcore band Motionless in White on "Nothing Ever After." Early fan favorite "Back To You" features the full force of pop-punkers All Time Low going up against Illenium's furious drops — and achieving perfect harmony.

Excision, Wooli, and The Devil Wears Prada — "Reasons" (2023)

Fellow bass lovers Excision and Wooli are frequently paired, whether they're going back-to-back as DJs or co-producing EPs like 2019's Evolution and 2023's Titans . This time around, the collaborators decided to try something outside their comfort zone, calling up Ohioan metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada to bring their distinctive grit to "Reasons."

In contrast to more pop-leaning entries on this list, "Reasons" is unapologetically heavy from the halfway mark, morphing back-and-forth from metalcore theatrics to hard-hitting wubs. In a statement, The Devil Wears Prada described this team-up as "uncharted territory" for the band, and their gamble paid off.

Rezz, Tim Henson, and Silverstein — "Dreamstate" (2023)

In a statement accompanying her new EP, It's Not A Phase , Rezz notes that she "grew up listening to bands exclusively, and over time developed an understanding of what it was about those songs that I loved."

That innate grasp of rock dynamics is on full display throughout Rezz's most vocal-driven release to date, with guest turns from the likes of Alice Glass, Johnny Goth, and Raven Gray. On "Dreamstate," Rezz embraces her inner emo kid with the help of Canadian post-hardcore band Silverstein and metal guitar prodigy Tim Henson, undergirding her guests' contributions with dark, stabbing bass.

"I listened to a bunch of Silverstein growing up, so it felt nostalgic to me," Rezz told Front Row Live Ent. , before admitting that it was "the hardest song I've ever mixed." The extra sweat resulted in a one-of-a-kind collaboration, proving once again that dance music and rock are a potent mix — one with plenty of fuel left in the tank.

Zakk Cervini On Producing Yungblud, Finding Inspiration During Quarantine And Why Rock Might Roar Back After COVID-19

After a year of virtually no live music, Poppy, Yungblud and Waterparks producer Zakk Cervini believes we'll dance, mosh and stage-dive soon

Producer Zakk Cervini believes the world is ready to rock again. Despite rock making a minor resurgence in the latter half of 2020, rock bands are not performing live—which Cervini says has been surreal, especially for artists missing out on the best years of their careers. But once local and state governments roll out the vaccines and it's safe to attend concerts again, the genre might resurge in a big way.  If it does, it's safe to say Cervini will be a big part of it. These days, artists who traditionally worked in pop music have been turning to rock, like  Poppy  with her 2020 metal album  I Disagree . (That album's track "Bloodmoney" earned her a GRAMMYs nomination for Best Metal Performance.) Rock bands are also making return-to-form records, like All Time Low with 2020's  Wake Up, Sunshine . "It's like the itch that the world is getting right now," Cervini, who produced both of those albums, tells GRAMMY.com. "They have the itch to rock again." <style>.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }</style><div class='embed-container'><iframe src='https://www.youtube.com/embed//s1FSdRg5eYU' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> Cervini raves about all of the artists he's worked with. "His voice was just unbelievable," he says of his frequent collaborator  Yungblud . (He follows this up with a pretty convincing Yungblud impression.) Cervini has deftly helped artists navigate musical transitions and is skilled at working alongside artists who inhabit the space between genres—and Yungblud is undoubtedly one of them.

"He's unafraid to push boundaries," Yungblud tells GRAMMY.com of Cervini via a voice note. "He's unafraid to push the genre into a place that it's not been yet, and he's completely fearless." <style>.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }</style><div class='embed-container'><iframe src='https://www.youtube.com/embed//pmXv7ND8EVo' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> Cervini built his rock royalty from the ground up. After working with producers Machine and Will Putney and eventually leaving college, he moved to Los Angeles to work for famed producer John Feldmann, who has produced bands like The Used and Story of the Year. They worked together for five years, including with  Blink-182  and  5 Seconds of Summer , before Cervini decided to go solo.  Since then, he's produced Waterparks' 2019 album  Fandom  and Yungblud's 2020 album  Weird! . He's also mixed tracks on  Machine Gun Kelly 's chart-topping 2020 album  Tickets to My Downfall  and the UK metalcore band Architect's 2021 album  For Those That Wish to Exist . He's also recently done some mixing for the film composer Danny Elfman. Throughout his career, Cervini has gotten the chance to work with artists he loves. On a Zoom call, he holds up the acoustic guitar he used to record a cover of the All Time Low's 2007 hit " Dear Maria, Count Me In ," which he and his brother once performed and uploaded to Facebook. He brought that same guitar to Palm Springs, where he worked with All Time Low on their most recent record. "Monsters," a single from that album, has spent a total of 18 weeks at number one on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart and a remix featuring Demi Lovato made it to number 18 on the Top 40 chart. GRAMMY.com checked in with Cervini to talk about his recent production work and how rock is making a comeback during the back-half of the pandemic. This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity. How did you get into producing? Was this something you always wanted to do? I'm 27 years old now, and I started producing when I was around 14. I grew up playing guitar, and I loved playing guitar. Somehow, from an early age, I wanted to be in a band. I had a hard time finding musicians who were as dedicated as I was and wanted to do what I wanted to do. One day, I downloaded a free recording program on my parents' computer. I remember the moment I pressed record and recorded a guitar part. The second that I heard that guitar part back, I was like, "This is incredible." That was the moment for me. I used GarageBand, and I started producing my friends' bands. I found a lot of joy and satisfaction in taking other people's music and turning it into a real thing, helping other people execute their visions. What did you learn from John Feldmann? I learned so much from him. One of the overarching things that I learned from him is how important it is to deliver a finished product. Because it's really easy to have ideas for songs and ideas for this and ideas for that.  But being able to present a written, recorded, produced, mixed, mastered song—sometimes it's hard for people that aren't on the creative end of music, like I am, to understand something until it's completely done and realized. He showed me how important it was to deliver an amazing quality finished product to someone. I also learned so much from him on the songwriting end of things because that's one of his strongest skill sets, in my opinion. He's an amazing songwriter. Just how to use song structures and classic song structure techniques that are tried and true that just work.  I also learned from him that—you should not sacrifice the quality of your work for this—but in this business, especially in this day and age, it's super-important to be fast. And I've taken that to heart. I love being in the studio with artists like [All Time Low vocalist] Alex [Gaskarth] or like Yungblud, who have so many ideas, and they're so all over the place. My job is to rein in their ideas and turn it into something that sounds good quickly. And you said you grew up listening to metal? What kinds of artists did you grow up listening to? I grew up listening to a lot of emo and metal music. I love  Slipknot ; I love  Rage Against the Machine . When I was in high school, I loved Motionless in White and all this kind of heavy rock music. I love bands like All Time Low. I love aggressive music with pop sensibilities, so  Korn ,  Nine Inch Nails . That's my bread and butter. That's the kind of music that I love, and that's my favorite kind of music to make. I also love pop music as well; I grew up listening to a lot of  Avril Lavigne . Then, that turned into  Katy Perry .  And now I'm a huge  BTS  fan. I love great songs, and they can be dressed up however. How do you pick what projects to work on? I've dabbled in hip hop, I've dabbled in pop, and I've just found over the years that I love making music that has kind of a rock or alternative edge to it. I just love aggressive music.  So I tend to kind of always lean towards stuff that has an aggressive edge, with drums, live guitars, and an amazing vocalist. A band that I love that I think I'll make a great match for that will succeed. I listened  to a podcast  that [All Time Low drummer] Rian [Dawson] recorded. He said that you don't want to produce your favorite bands' albums. Is that correct? Isn't that what they always say? Don't meet your heroes, or don't work with your heroes? It's funny, I have worked with a lot of people that I grew up listening to.  Again, I'm sure I would do it. [Still], there are certain artists I would be happy with never approaching me and with me just listening to their music forever because I just love their music so much, and I wouldn't want to have a weird experience in the studio.  Writing and making music is like hooking up with someone. If it goes well, that's awesome. But if it doesn't go well, then every time you see that person, it's kind of like, "Oh, hi." I wouldn't want to have that feeling with an artist I loved and was inspired by so much. And how do you see your role, working alongside an artist's inspiration? Whenever I work with an artist, I want whatever we do, whatever song we make, or album we make, for the inception of the idea to come from them. I love working with great artists who can write their own songs and come up with their own ideas and concepts.  So, Yungblud's a perfect example. If he comes in, and he's like, "I have this idea to make a song. This is the concept, and this is kind of what I want it to say," my job is to help him get to the finish line and make him realize that idea and turn it into a finished thing, which is awesome.  That's the kind of stuff that I love doing most. He has all these ideas, and I just need to filter them and then put them down and turn them into a three-minute song. <style>.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }</style><div class='embed-container'><iframe src='https://www.youtube.com/embed//J3LjwKVgX3I' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> And you also worked on the Waterparks single "Lowkey As Hell," which is influenced, I think, by being in quarantine. I was wondering how that came together. How has quarantine affected your working process? I'm very conscious of the bad things going on in the world right now. And I've been very lucky to be doing well in this quarantine. And I'm very thankful that I have been doing well because I know it's been like hell on Earth for many people, which is horrible.  For the first couple of months of quarantine, the studio that I work at was closed for a few months, so I had to figure out how to work in my apartment. I bought a new laptop, and I got a pair of headphones. And I had to figure out how to do what I do in my apartment on a laptop. That's the best thing that's ever happened to me. I've been doing some of my best work, I think, like that. And now I can kind of do what I do anywhere and know it's going to be the same quality as if I was in a studio. "Lowkey as Hell," the Waterparks song, was an interesting one. It was me, Awsten [Knight, vocalist], and our friend Andrew Goldstein. That was just one of those songs that was done before I even knew what happened.  It just came together super-quickly. It was done in a couple of hours over Zoom. That's the only song that I've done over Zoom this whole time, and it's pretty fitting that it talks a lot about what we're all going through right now. The All Time Low album came out at the start of quarantine, and Yungblud's album came out in December 2020. All this work you've done is coming out at a time where people can't experience it live. That's something that I miss a lot. Going to shows is my favorite thing ever, and hearing songs that I performed live is one of the best feelings in the world. It's such a strange thing to have these songs come out and not be able to hear them live.  Usually, you make an album with a band, and they go on tour and have all these experiences, and then come back, and then you do it again. But this time around, I'm like, "Are we going to have to make albums back-to-back in quarantine?" It's really weird. And there's a lot of stuff going on in the world, movements and political stuff. I think that it's been hard for a lot of people, myself included, and I've seen it in artists, too, to find a lot of inspiration because people aren't on the road, and they're not having as many experiences as they're used to. It's hard to make an album and then just go right into the next one because it's hard not to do the same thing twice. [After all], the inspiration is running low. You said you've been mixing more during the pandemic. How have you been picking those projects? I love mixing because I can do it on my schedule. When I'm writing or doing sessions with people, that stuff is awesome, but it takes a lot more energy to do something like that, in my opinion, versus just open up my computer and mix the song.  If someone hits me up to mix a song, and I hear the song, and I love it, and I think that I'm the right person to do it, then I'm going to do it. People always send me songs, then I hear them, and I'm like, "This song is so sick." I just instantly hear in my head the way that I want that song to sound, and then that makes me want to do it. <style>.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }</style><div class='embed-container'><iframe src='https://www.youtube.com/embed//NlnwXIigAAs' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> It's been kind of a pretty big two years for rock music in general. Especially this [past] year, with the success of Machine Gun Kelly and even the All Time Low song ["Monsters"], I feel like it's exploded in popularity. And I think there's a lot more crossover with different types of genres. What has it been like being so close to it? That kind of stuff excites me because that's the kind of music that I love. I grew up listening to rock music, and I love making rock music, so I love the fact that it's seeing a comeback.  I feel like, for the past 10 or 15 years, music has gone in many different directions. There was dance music, and then there was Skrillex, who is incredible, and then hip hop's been so big. People have explored so many different sides of electronic computer-based music, and I think now people want to hear some more live-influenced music again. That's what it feels like to me.  Seeing artists like Machine Gun Kelly is the coolest thing ever to me because he made a straight-up rock album, and it's like, one of the biggest albums of [2020]. It's so cool. And that's kind of helping to pave the way for all of us.  I always love rock music with pop sensibilities. That's just what I've been trying to make for the last [however] many years, and it's cool seeing it finally get into the mainstream. All Time Low, Simple Plan, 3OH!3 On The Bill For Final Warped Tour

Kevin Lyman’s long-running pop punk package festival has announced its final lineup

All Time Low

Nostalgia often lights the pathway to the future. By returning to those warm feelings of wide-eyed wonder from childhood, bottling them up tight, and distilling them with years of wisdom, evolution becomes seamless. On their seventh full-length album and first for Fueled By Ramen Last Young Renegade , All Time Low take the next step on a journey they began back in their hometown of Towson, Maryland during 2003. Alight by analog synthesizers, cinematic soundscapes, and a lyrical journey lived through the eyes of a character known as the “Last Young Renegade,” the chart-topping platinum-certified quartet—Alex Gaskarth [lead vocals, rhythm guitar], Jack Barakat [lead guitar, backing vocals], Zack Merrick [bass guitar, backing vocals], and Rian Dawson [drums]—looked back in order to move forward.

“There’s a very nostalgic quality to this record,” Alex affirms. “There are a lot of strings that tie each song together, which had to do with what we were going through at the time. All of these things were quietly affecting where my head was at creatively. The deaths of Prince, David Bowie, and George Michael and watching shows like Stranger Things brought me back to being a little kid. There are touches of those inspirations creeping across. It’s those emotions of sitting in front of the TV cross-legged at six-years-old watching Ghostbusters for the first time. That was a guiding force for how we wrote and approached this.”

“It wasn’t about recreating anything directly, but trying to simply reflect those emotions,” Jack agrees.

Alex adds, “We asked ourselves, ‘How do we not only get that feeling, but give it to people?’ ”

In order to transfer that sensation to audiences, they flipped the script. While touring behind 2015’s Future Hearts , which bowed at #2 on the Billboard Top 200, the band began secretly working on song ideas without letting a soul outside of their inner circle know. With no schedule or expectations looming, the boys experimented and pushed the envelope both thematically and musically.

“It really felt like we had the freedom to explore,” Alex remarks. “We wrote outside the box. I think that creative liberty led us down the road of where this ended up. We went towards those sonic textures and synths. At the end of the day, our core is drums, bass, and two guitars, but I don’t think that’s the be-all end-all of what we are.”

“It’s a bit of a darker direction,” Jack exclaims. That’s something we’ve never touched on lyrically and emotionally throughout a whole tracklisting. It’s dark, but palatable. We’re not 18 anymore. It’s almost fifteen years later. We’ve seen a lot. We’ve lost friends and family members. We’ve found our voice, and we approached this new territory from a perspective that makes sense for us.”

Closing a landmark chapter with Hopeless Records, the boys signed to Fueled By Ramen in 2016. Throughout the year, they continued to assemble those ideas, primarily self-producing for the first time with co-production from Colin Brittain [5 Seconds of Summer, Avicii] and Blake Harnage [PVRIS]. Alex took a writing trip to a ranch in Palm Springs, CA that proved pivotal as the musicians tinkered each and every song to perfection. The title represented the collective mindset as the Last Young Renegade stepped into focus.

“The Last Young Renegade became this character who could encapsulate all of these feelings throughout each song,” Alex elaborates. “It was easier to approach personal experiences from an outside perspective as if I was talking about someone else or describing a movie I just watched. It enabled me to go places I wouldn’t have been comfortable going otherwise. It let me sit down with my demons and talk to them without facing them directly. Anybody can be this character.”

An echo of ethereal guitar, airy keys, and a confessional and catchy chorus come clean on the first single “Dirty Laundry.” Upon its February release, the song quickly clocked over 2 million Spotify streams in under a week, showcasing the group’s progression.

“The older you get, the more you realize everybody has a dark side and a past,” the frontman goes on. “You come to terms with those scars. They’re what make us who we are, define us, and give us character. That’s what the song is about. It was the right one to put out first, because it felt fresh. We actively want to shake things up and place aspects of All Time Low into the light that keep everyone guessing.”

The title track gallops ahead on a powerful chorus fueled by lush and lively instrumentation. “It’s a song about young love,” he continues. “When you fall in love at a young age, reality often sets in. With the waves that life throws at you, the current can be too strong to handle, and it falls apart. This one kicks off the story.”

Elsewhere, they collaborate with Tegan and Sara on “Ground Control” a spacey and soaring nod to Bowie that culminates on the assurance, “Don’t be afraid if you start floating away . ” With its uplifting and undeniable chant, the closer “Afterglow” shines long after the final note. Think Phil Collins crooning over Starboy -style production, and you’re halfway there…

It’s as if All Time Low has been speeding towards this body of work since their inception. Throughout the course of six albums, the band has earned four Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200, peaking at #2. Their catalog of anthems includes the platinum-certified “Dear Maria, Count Me In” and gold-certified “Weightless” and “A Love Like War [feat. Vic Fuentes],” which received the highest honor of “Song of the Year” at the 2014 Alternative Press Music Awards . To date, they’ve garnered five Alternative Press Music Awards , five KERRANG! Awards, and been crowned “Best Pop Punk Band” at the Top In Rock Awards. Along the way, they’ve appeared in Rolling Stone and Billboard and graced the covers of Alternative Press and KERRANG! multiple times in addition to performing on The Tonight Show , Conan , and Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!  Known for unforgettable shows around the globe, they’ve also ignited stages everywhere from Voodoo Music Experience to Warped Tour and on the road with blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Green Day and more.

Last Young Renegade sees them confidently turn the page on their next chapter. “To be honest, I really want people to come out of this simply feeling something,” Jack leaves off. “It’s different than anything we’ve done in the past, but it’s still who we are. We’re really proud of that.”

Alex concludes, “ The biggest thing for me was to make music that allows the band to grow with the fans who have been with us since day one and open the door to new people who aren’t that familiar with All Time Low. The themes we explore are very relatable. I hope this is an emotional ride. That’s what all of my favorite records were for me.”

2024 Masters leaderboard breakdown: Byson DeChambeau, Scottie Scheffler go low, set pace with Round 1 halted

There are plenty of low scores on the masters leaderboard, but dechambeau and scheffler may be tough to catch nonetheless.

A pair of former U.S. Ryder Cup teammates find themselves out in front of the field after the first day of play at the 2024 Masters. Round 1 action was suspended at 7:51 p.m. ET due to darkness, but it is Bryson DeChambeau who puts head to pillow with the clubhouse lead overnight.

Catching fire during the early wave Thursday and utilizing eight birdies to card a 7-under 65, DeChambeau was clinical around Augusta National Golf Club. Ranking second from tee to green and first with the putter in hand, the 2020 U.S. Open champion put himself in a fine position to claim another of golf's grandest prizes.

In order to do so, DeChambeau will have to take down the man who stood alongside him at Whistling Straits a few years ago, Scottie Scheffler. The world No. 1 looked exactly like the world No. 1 should look Thursday as he navigated the tricky conditions at Augusta National in bogey-free fashion en route to a 6-under 66.

Racing to the finish line with four birdies over his last seven holes, Scheffler got through the worst of the conditions unblemished; instead of shriveling, he thrived. While he was unable to tack on one final birdie at the last to catch DeChambeau, he is undoubtedly the favorite to add one more major to his belt.

Scheffler was not the only Masters champion to find his stride Thursday as Danny Willett sits in third in the clubhouse at 4 under in his first start since September 2023 due to injury. Major staples like Will Zalatoris, Brian Harman, Tommy Fleetwood and Patrick Reed are lurking, while Rory McIlroy fired an under-par round to keep himself in the mix in his latest chase for the career grand slam.

Watch the final three rounds of the 2024 Masters continuing Friday with  Masters Live  as we follow the best golfers in the world through Augusta National with  Featured Groups , check in at the famed  Amen Corner  and see leaders round the turn on  holes 15 & 16 . Watch live on  CBSSports.com , the  CBS Sports app  and  Paramount+ .

2024 Masters leaderboard, Round 1 in progress

1. Bryson DeChambeau (-7): It was a controlled round for Bryson after he got off to a dream start with three straight birdies out of the gate. He hit 10 fairways, 15 greens in regulation and got up and down at an 86% clip. DeChambeau putted the ball beautifully on top of that, experiencing a renewed sense of patience on the golf course. He finished T29 in the 2019 Masters after holding the first-round lead.

"Winning at Winged Foot helped me understand how to win big tournaments," DeChambeau said. "But a lot of patience, especially out here on this golf course where you feel like it's gettable, you see it's right in front of you, but it's just tricky out here. It can be super tricky. Making sure that you play aggressively but in a safe manner to where it's not going to get you into too much trouble. So, for me, as my game has progressed, I've learned to be a -- I've tried to be a little bit smarter out there on the golf course and not try to go for broke and go for every flag but place it in the right position."

2. Scottie Scheffler (-6): There just aren't enough words to describe this guy. Scheffler led the field from tee to green, was slightly above average on the greens and got around a difficult Augusta National without dropping a shot. Now, it was not without a little good fortune as he holed a bunker shot on the par-3 12th for birdie and received a great break on the next when it appeared his second was destined for Rae's Creek. He skirted the water and instead added another birdie before picking up two more on his second nine, but that's what the great ones do. Scheffler's 66 was the lowest of his Masters career and his first bogey-free effort at Augusta National.

3. Nicolai Hojgaard (-5): Three holes still to play.

T4. Danny Willett, Max Homa (-4): Homa came into this week without much on his major résumé, and he is on pace to post his best ever opening round in a major championship with five holes left in his round. He impressed alongside Tiger Woods on Thursday and capped an impressive day with a nice up-and-down birdie on the par-5 13th to navigate Amen Corner in even-par fashion.

T6. Ryan Fox, Cameron Davis, Tyrrell Hatton (-3): Hatton has four holes still to play.

T9. Will Zalatoris, Ludvig Aberg, Tommy Fleetwood, Joaquin Niemann and four others (-2): One year removed from withdrawing for the Masters and opting for back surgery, Zalatoris finds himself in the major mix once again. Arriving with a stellar history at Augusta National that consisted of a runner-up performance in his debut and T6 in his second stroll, the wiry right hander is at it again. He kickstarted his round thanks to playing the second-nine par 5s in 3 under, but dropped shots on his final two holes left him at 2 under and with a bad taste in his mouth.

"That's the thing about this place, is that you get so much wind, so much swirling," Zalatoris said. "I hit 10 great golf shots on the last two holes coming in. That's just part of what it is around this place. It's playing brutal but it's a lot of fun right now. The course was very fair. Even with everything that we've gone through. Overall, yeah, very pleased."

Aberg and Fleetwood both have holes still to play.

T17. Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Patrick Cantlay, Viktor Hovland, Tony Finau, Matt Fitzpatrick and eight others (-1): There is a lot of good news for McIlroy, who signed for his first under-par opening round at the Masters in six years. He played the par 5s in even par, missed a short birdie chance on the 16th and could have easily squeezed out a couple more shots here or there. McIlroy's wedge play was a smidge sloppy leading to a dropped shot on the par-5 2nd and not aiding him in up-and-down efforts on two other occasions. Woods opened with a birdie, went back to par after the 4th and then birdied the 8th to maintain his score with five holes left to play.

T32. Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Shane Lowry, Tom Kim and five others (E): This is probably a disappointed bunch, especially someone like Schauffele who came into the week riding so much momentum. The world No. 5 made dropped two shots in his first four holes and slugged his way back to even par on the second nine. Outside of his iron play, Schauffele struggled, but he is not totally out of this tournament if he can post a low one on Friday. Koepka is only through the 11th.

T42. Jon Rahm, Phil Mickelson, Wyndham Clark, Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa and seven others  (+1): The defending champion got off to a nice start playing his first nine in 2 under, but it fell apart from there. A second-nine 39 was the result of loose iron swings and a little frustration boiling over. He dropped shots on 17 and 18 to come in right around the course average on Thursday.

"It's a difficult golf course," Rahm said. "That's all I can say. It's not easy. You're not really having the luxury out there of being able to miss shots, especially tee shots. Unfortunately, on that back nine I missed a few too many shots."

Rick Gehman, Greg DuCharme and Patrick McDonald recap Round 1 of the Masters from Augusta National. Follow & listen to The First Cut on  Apple Podcasts  and  Spotify .

Play suspended due to darkness at 7:52 p.m. ET

The horn has been sounded and players now face the choice on whether they want to complete the hole they are currently on. Tiger Woods, Max Homa and Jason Day are around the green on the par-5 13th with players such as Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth behind them. These guys will have to complete most of their second nines tomorrow morning.

Koepka keeping his cool

The five-time major champion hasn't made much noise, but he is right there kind of hanging around. Koepka exchanged a birdie for a bogey on his first nine to turn in even par and will have a chance to put his foot on the gas with some birdie chances on this side. Whether this chance comes tonight or tomorrow morning depends on the sunlight.

Tiger, Max hummin'

These two are kind of feeding off each other, I think. Max Homa turns in 4 under thanks to birdies on Nos. 8-9 while Tiger is back in red figures as well thank to a birdie on the par 5. It has been clinical from Tiger up until his approach into the 10th which will short side him and set up a tricky par attempt.

Scheffler shoots 6-under 66

That was clinical from the world No. 1. Scheffler signs for six birdies, 12 pars and will sign for a bogey-free 6-under 66 to put himself just one behind Bryson DeChambeau. In a shocking development, Scheffler ranked first in strokes gained tee to green on Thursday.

Rahm shoots 1-over 73

The defending champion experienced a second nine to forget at Augusta National. After turning in 2 under, Rahm came home in 3-over 39 in part to back-to-back bogeys to finish. The world No. 3 was sloppy with his iron play throughout the day and never looked super comfortable en route to his 1-over 73.

Scheffler surging to the finish line

The world No. 1 tacks on a couple second-nine birdies and finds himself just one behind Bryson DeChambeau. Scheffler heads to 18 with a chance to tie the first-round lead while other players like Will Zalatoris, Matt Fitzpatrick and Jon Rahm are faltering down the stretch.
