How to Leave Iki Island - Ghost of Tsushima
Home » Ghost of Tsushima » How to Leave Iki Island – Ghost of Tsushima
The question of how to leave Iki Island in Ghost of Tsushima has been on the minds of a bunch of gamers that have rushed headlong into the new content, and then found themselves unable to leave halfway through. This can be a bit frustrating, I’m sure, if you’ve left a bunch of stuff on the main map that you want to go back to. Of course people want to know how to exit Iki island in Ghost of Tsushima. Fortunately, the solution is pretty simple, as we’ll show you in our How to Leave Iki Island – Ghost of Tsushima guide.
Ghost of Tsushima – How to Exit Iki Island
To exit Iki island in Ghost of Tsushima, you need to complete the story missions, or you can use fast travel – zoom out the map and look northwest of Iki island. That is something that you need to keep in mind before entering Iki island . Once you begin the mission that starts the Iki quest chain, “Journey into the Past,” and make your way to the area, you won’t be able to leave until you finish all the story missions. Don’t be too bummed about this, though; it should only take you three to four hours to complete these quests and go back to roaming the open world. The content from the rest of the map aren’t gonna go anywhere, and besides, there’s plenty to occupy your attention, such as the Blood-Stained Shrine puzzle solution and unlocking the Crimson Red Dye Merchant .
So, in brief, that’s how to leave Iki Island in Ghost of Tsushima – complete the story missions. Only then will you be able to return to whatever activities you’ve been doing before you dove into the new content. However, I advise you to take your time and enjoy everything Iki Island has to offer. Aside from the main missions, there’s a bunch of other stuff to sink your teeth into. For example, there are several Mythic Tales and side quests to complete, animal sanctuaries to visit, fighting in the hidden cave tournament, archery challenges, and just generally exploring and enjoying the scenery. Iki island is a beautiful zone; it warrants setting aside a few moments to breathe it in. Especially on PS5.

Yeah, you can fast travel to the Numata settlement once the quest are completed
I’ve completed all 14 stories for Iki, I’ve killed the Eagle and there’s nothing left to do (besides the Sakai banner horse armor dye thing, and I just don’t care about that, and it’s not a main story point anyway). Yet, I’m at 5/6 liberated. I’ve gone back and finished all the 3 sections of the main island, it’s just Iki that needs completed, and I can’t figure out how to.
Help?! Anyone?!
Have you finished the Common Curtesy stories? Then finish it by talking to the woman in house in Yahata Forest?
Yeah I know I can fast travel to Tsushima island, but I donât want to. I want to get on a boat, that takes me from point A, to point B, and then to point A again if I need to⊠just for immersion purposes⊠donât want to teleport around like Iâm Raiden!
Exactly what I was hoping for tbh
This is wrong. I’ve beat all the main and side quests, and there’s still no discernable way back to tsushima
You have a fast travel northwest of Iki island that brings you back to Tsushima.
I need help leavin Iki island
Go to MAP menu Zoom out Zoom outttt You will find tsushima island and can fast travel back there.

Best Games To Play If You Love Ghost Of Tsushima
Ghost of tsushima player discovers the ultimate trick to survive high falls, how ghost of tsushima's role in secret level could foreshadow a sequel's path.
Ghost of Tsushima features one of the most aesthetically pleasing environments in AAA gaming, and that holds equally true for its impressive Iki Island expansion. That's why no one would blame you for eagerly traveling to Iki Island before completing the base game, whether intentionally or by mistake.
Typically, exploring the expansion's area shouldn't pose a big issue, but there's a catch in Ghost of Tsushima . Traveling to Iki Island locks out Tsushima Island until certain conditions are met, effectively stranding you on Iki Island with no way back. Naturally, many players would want to return to the main game. So, how can you do that?
After finishing Ghost of Tsushima, players craving a similar experience can try out a few of these games that share comparable attributes.
When Can You Leave Iki Island?
Unfortunately, if you've already voyaged to Iki Island , you'll need to play through the Iki Island Story missions to regain the fast travel option. But there's a silver lining to this situation. You won't need to finish all the main quests to regain the feature.
All you have to do is complete the "Jin From Yarikawa" main quest , which is the fifth quest in the expansion. After that, the fast travel option should return, allowing you to go back to Tsushima Island.
Ideally, you should be exploring Iki Island after completing the base game. However, sometimes curiosity gets the better of you, or you may accidentally start the Iki quest without realizing you can't return. Either way, here's how you can get back to Tsushima Island.
How To Fast Travel Back To Iki Island
Once you have access to the Fast Travel feature, returning to Tsushima Island is only a couple of button presses away. Follow the steps below:
- Open the World Map by pressing the Options button.
- Zoom out by pushing the right analog stick downwards.
- Look to your west.
- Select a valid Fast Travel Point from Tsushima Island.
After a quick loading screen, you should be back on the base game's map. Now, you can fast travel back and forth at your own discretion. Be sure to explore all of Iki Island, as it holds some interesting loot and side quests. It won't take much time, as the expansion is only a dozen hours long.
Remember that everything you gain from Iki Island, whether it's a new gadget or skill, carries over when you return to Tsushima Island.

Ghost of Tsushima: How to Leave Iki Island
The Iki Island expansion in Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut prevents you from leaving the island until you reach a certain point in the story. For narrative reasons, Jin is stuck on Iki Island throughout most of the DLC, but you will eventually be able to return to the main island of Tsushima at some point. Thankfully, you aren’t trapped on the new island for very long, and it’s quite easy to get back to the main game once you’re ready. Here’s how to leave Iki Island in Ghost of Tsushima.
How to Leave Iki Island in Ghost of Tsushima
Once you start the Iki Island expansion, you cannot leave until you complete all of the main story missions on the island. The DLC begins with a quest called “Journey into the Past,” and you will reach a very clear point of no return before you complete this quest. Fortunately, the Iki Island questline only lasts for a few hours if you focus on the main story missions.
While the Iki Island expansion main story is only a few hours long, the island is packed with optional side content that will keep you busy for much longer. After you finish the main story, you can return to Iki later and finish up any Mythic Tales , side quests, and collectibles you missed.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut has a lot to offer new and returning players alike, and it’s a great reason to jump back into Sucker Punch’s beautifully crafted world. We loved Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, awarding it a score of 4.5/5 stars in our review . We praised Iki Island in particular, saying “While the Directorâs Cut improvements are appreciated, the Iki Island expansion is the real star of this rerelease. Iki Island distills all the best parts of Ghost of Tsushima into one focused experience, and it provides an incredibly compelling reason to return to the game. ”
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is available now on PS4 and PS5.

Can You Transfer Ghost Of Tsushima Save Data To PS5
Sims 4 update finally fixes one of the biggest problems with high school years, kind of, genshin impact 5.1 leaks: slower players may miss out on hundreds of free primogems.
Ghost of Tsushima players can now visit Iki Island as part of the game's Iki Island expansion. The expansion adds ten to twelve hours of content, with Jin journeying to Iki to investigate a mysterious tribe of Mongol invaders. However, Jin can visit Iki Island at any point after progressing through enough of the main story. It's left up to players to decide when to make the journey.
Unlocking access to Iki Island involves completing Act 1's main story. This allows Jin to claim some of the best early-game skill upgrades , fighting stances, and gear, including the grappling hook. However, even though the expansion can be started anytime after Act 2 begins, there are clear pros and cons to consider before jumping into the Iki Island content early.
Ghost of Tsushima has arrived on PlayStation 5 thanks to the Director's Cut, and players are able to transfer their PS4 save game to the new console.
When To Start Ghost Of Tsushima's Iki Island Expansion
Everything to know before starting.
The best time to start the Iki Island expansion is after completing the main game , and there are compelling story and gameplay reasons not to jump in immediately. Characters encountered in the expansion will speak to Jin as if the main game has been completed, and some sections refer to events that occur in Acts 2 and 3.
The expansion is more of a post-game continuation of the story than a side adventure. It's one of the best things in Ghost of Tsushima's post-game , and players will have a much better appreciation of Jin and all the supporting cast by the end. Apart from narrative dissonance, the game warns anyone hoping to jump into the new content the moment they unlock it that the challenges on Iki Island are some of the toughest yet.
The way Iki Island is introduced into the main game is fairly seamless, acting as a new location for players to jump back and forth from the mainland. At any point, players can leave Iki Island and return to Tsushima to level up and earn more abilities through the main story.
Some of Ghost of Tsushima's hardest bosses reside on Iki Island, and even regular enemies are deadlier than their counterparts on Tsushima. Players should ideally have most of their abilities unlocked before visiting Iki Island, as the expansion further pushes these endgame abilities and presents an actual test of skill.
However, Iki Island also features new side activities and many of Ghost of Tsushima's best armor sets. As such, even if it's less ideal, players can jump in at any point, and it's ultimately up to them.

The biggest addition to this version is the Iki Island expansion, a new map with additional story content. If you are wondering how to actually access this expansion, the following guide will help you out. It is not too difficult to find the marker on the map, but you should know when you can actually do it and when is the best time to do it.
When Does Iki Island Become Available?
- Becomes available after beating the first act
- You should wait until later in the game to start the expansion
Iki Island first becomes available during Act Two of the main game. We recommend at least waiting until unlocking all the stances, including the Ghost Stance unlocked during the Ghost of Yarikawa mission. The more upgraded you are, the better. There's nothing wrong with even waiting until you beat the main game entirely.
How To Start The Expansion
There is a mark on the map clearly indicating where to start the mission. It is in the middle of the map to the west of Akashima village and north of Castle Kaneda. You can also activate it from the Journal tab in the pause menu . Make your way there and you'll run into someone asking for help. He wants you to help someone who has gone insane.
Head towards the village where the man is from (which is already marked on the map) and check on the townspeople there.

They have gone insane for some unknown reason after a Mongol attack. You'll be prompted to investigate the area. Simply head to the areas where the game prompts you to go ( marked by a magnifying glass ), focus the camera on objects of interest, and use the right trigger to investigate the scene.
Another group of Mongols eventually attack, which is where you are introduced to new enemy types. The Shaman is particularly troublesome since his chants make all the other enemies stronger. Kill the Shaman first , which then makes the rest of the enemies easier.
After winning the battle, Jin learns the group of Mongols came from Iki Island, which is where Jin's father was killed. In the morning, Jin decides to head to Iki Island to stop any further invasions. The game lets you know that Iki Island is unlocked. On the shore is a boatman who will take you there.
The game warns you that Iki Island is harder than the main game and gives you a chance to turn back. Fortunately, you can easily return to the Island of Tsushima using fast travel , so if you find the combat too difficult, you can always leave and come back to it later.

Journey into the Past is the introduction to the Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island DLC .
This quest serves as a partial "point of no return,â in that you will have to stay on Iki until finishing the DLC's main story , If there are any other quests, upgrades, or purchases on Tsushima you wish to complete, it is best to do so before traveling to the island. You will only be able to fast travel back to Tsushima after completing The Blessing of Death mission at the end of the DLC main story.
Synopsis [ ]
At an unknown time during or after the invasion of Tsushima , Jin Sakai hears about disturbing events happening at a small settlement named Drowned Man's Shore located in the southern Toyotama region and decides to investigate.
After arriving, Jin finds the peasants in the whole settlement have been driven into insanity by an unknown force. An investigation of a Mongol yurt nearby indicates to Jin that a previously unidentified tribe of Mongols were involved with whatever happened. A group of Mongol soldiers then appear, led by a shaman who declares to Jin that the "Eagle" is calling out for him before starting a shamanic chant. Jin fights off the Mongols, who have their combat abiltiies enhanced by the shamans. He speaks to a surviving shaman afterward, who tells him the Eagle will lead her Eagle Tribe to Tsushima's shores from Iki island before dying. Jin then remembers the childhood memory of his father 's death.
Sometime later, Yuna arrives. Jin speaks to her about what happened, telling her that his father died on Iki before deciding to return there to investigate the Eagle Tribe's presence. Yuna stays behind to help the peasant settlement while Jin prepares for his journey ahead by talking to a boat captain by the shore that will take him to Iki.
The player at this point is warned that they are about to begin a long series of Tales that will challenge their skills as a warrior.
Whenever Jin is ready, he and his horse will board the boat, his first destination being the ancestral stronghold of Fort Sakai . The boat captain warns there have been severe storms around Iki ever since the Mongol invasion began, only they should be fine. Once they have set sail, Jin sights a large storm approaching, with lightning striking the boat afterwards.
Jin manages to survive the shipwreck, walking alone onto a beachside shore with the hope that his horse was alive too. After moving through a seaside cave, Jin finally reaches his destination of Iki island.

Ghost of Tsushima The Ghost of Iki Island Walkthrough
August 19, 2021 by PowerPyx 2 Comments
The Ghost of Iki Island is a side tale in Ghost of Tsushima – Iki Island DLC Expansion. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Ghost of Iki Island Side Quest.
Side Tale: Â The Ghost of Iki Island Region: Â Iki Island Quest Giver: Â Peasant Requirement: Locate this tale in the open world Rewards: Â Minor Legend Increase, Minor Utility Charm, +4 Leather Mission Info: Â Someone on Iki Island is pretending to be the Ghost. I should find this imposter.
Objectives:
Travel to the Ghost’s offering site
Find what the ghost was scouting for, catch up to the ghost, track the ghost imposter, reach the bandits’ hideout to find the ghost, rescue the ghost of iki, lead kenji to safety at the campsite / speak with kenji and fugu, travel with kenji and fugu to the viper’s den.
- Walk with Kenji to meet the Viper / Speak with the Viper
Travel to the outskirts of Mongol camp with Kenji
Collect the viper’s navigation charts, meet kenji near the mongol camp / speak with kenji, speak with the viper, starting location:Â the ghost of iki island.
After talking to the quest giver, ride to the Ghost’s offering site marked on your map. Once there, interact with the burned wood, the jar, and the torch on the ground. Then the scene transitions to a lookout automatically.
Run down to the houses where the imposter was.
At the end of the muddy path you’ll see a campfire with 2 people standing next to it. You can hear them talking from the distance. Run up to them and a cutscene will start. They are discussing the debt the imposter Ghost owes to some Raiders.
The raider will walk away, and it turns out the man you followed isn’t the imposter Ghost, but his accomplice. He tells you the imposter Ghost was taken prisoner, so now you must free him. He’s in a building 120 meters away, guarded by some weak enemies.
Defeat the enemies, then free the imposter Ghost. As it turns out, the imposter Ghost of Iki is Kenji.
Walk alongside Kenji, he’ll lead the way and will bring you back to his accomplice Fugu. Once you arrive, talk to Fugu.
Walk with Kenji to meet the Viper /Â Speak with the Viper
After Kenji stops riding, follow him on foot into the settlement at the beach. There you will meet the Viper. Talk to him.
If you pick the confronting ones it will result in a duel against the Viper, but you cannot kill him (the duel ends when his health is low). If you pick the defusing ones, it will skip the duel and instead you talk it out. Either way, you always get the same next objective. The rest of the quest will always continue on the same path regardless of your choice. The only difference is that one option gives you the duel against the Viper and the other doesn’t, but it has no impact on the rest of the game. So basically, it doesn’t matter what you pick.
After you either confronted or defused the situation with the viper, you will need to ride to a Mongol camp to grab some navigation charts. You should ride there manually instead of using fast travel, because using fast travel will leave Kenji behind.
Clear out the camp (ideally, defeat the Shamans standing on top of the ruins first, then the others are easier to defeat).
Afterward, collect the golden glowing documents sitting on the broken wooden bridge next to the big tent. The yellow waypoint shows the exact spot, also see the location below.
Head back out of the camp and talk to Kenji (marked map objective). This will automatically make you respawn at the Viper without having to travel back manually.
Talk again to the Viper and let the dialogue play out. There are no choices to make here. Kenji actually learned a lesson here and decides to gives his spot onboard the Viper’s ship to his assistant Fugu, so that he may safely escape Iki Island. Kenji decides to stay on Iki Island.
This finishes The Ghost of Iki Island quest in Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island.

If you CONFRONT the Viper, you must duel and the objective is two objectives: 1. Get Navigation Charts 2. Get a picture of his

I have the tale in my journal and the quest marker on the map but I can’t speak with the dude at the camp. Seems bugged

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut: How to unlock Iki Island
Ghost of Tsushima fans are eager to get to Iki Island, the all-new story expansion in Ghost of Tsushima Directorâs Cut . Sucker Punch delivered on its promise to improve upon a game that most fans agreed was already perfect. With brand new features, updated graphics, and a new area to explore, Ghost of Tsushima Directorâs Cut has new and returning players asking one question: How do I get to Iki Island?
When does Iki Island unlock?
Transferring ps4 saved data, how difficult is iki island, other iki island unlocks, what you need.
Sakai Clan Armor
Complete Act I
If youâre starting from scratch, Iki Island unlocks at the beginning of Act II, once youâve unlocked the Toyotama region of Tsushima. By then, youâve unlocked the grappling hook and, ideally, all four combat stances. Once youâve made it to Act II:
Step 1: Select the Journal tab from the Pause menu.
Step 2: Youâll be notified that Tales of Iki is now available.
Step 3: Select Tales of Iki and then track the tale Journey Into the Past .
Step 4: Follow the guiding wind to begin the journey to Iki Island.
If youâve transferred your PlayStation 4 saved data to Ghost of Tsushima Directorâs Cut , youâll be notified that Iki Island is available by a pop-up on your screen as soon as you load your save file. Of course, youâll have had to make it to the beginning of Act II on that save. Youâll still get the same notification as if starting from scratch.
Jin follows the guiding wind to Drowned Manâs Shore, where villagers appear to have lost their minds. Heâll be introduced to Shamans, a new type of enemy, and will have to fend off the approaching Mongols as he tries to figure out whatâs going on.
Iki itself is an island off the southeast coast of Tsushima. Players cannot get there unless they complete this introductory mission and hop on a boat across the sea. This boat trip brings Jin on a character-building quest, returning to a place where the Sakai name is no longer welcome. The residents of Iki donât care much for the Ghost of Tsushima, and Jin learns early on that the Khan was only the beginning.
Iki Island is not easy. Players whoâve just reached Act II will have difficulty surviving on Iki Island and will be stuck there until they progress far enough in the Iki story. While they only have to make it through a few missions in Tales of Iki to fast-travel back to Tsushima, under-equipped players may not enjoy it to its full potential. Furthermore, treating Iki Island as an epilogue makes for a better experience.
Returning players can jump right into Iki Island with everything theyâve learned and earned through the base game. Those eager to see whatâs in store can load their PS4 saved game, but itâs imperative they do not enter New Game+.
There are several new mechanics that Iki Island adds to the game. One is the horse charge maneuver, which lets your horse stampede through roaming groups of Mongols. The horse charge is a great way to build up your Ghost Stance (if youâve already unlocked it) and makes defeating those traveling bands of enemies much easier.
Youâll also unlock horse armor, which makes your mount as deadly as your katana. Taking both these mechanics back to Tsushima on your quest to slay Khotun Khan will make Jinâs life easier.
