What You Should Eat During A Round Of Golf
Get your nutrition on point and find out what you should eat during a round of golf with our guide
- Sign up to Golf Monthly Newsletter Newsletter
How often do you resist your hunger urges during a round of golf by telling yourself you’ll eat when you reach the clubhouse? How often do you forego food at the halfway hut because you think eating something results in a guaranteed double-bogey the next hole? How often do you struggle to drag your legs up the 18th fairway because you’re so low on energy?
Most golfers reading this will answer ‘regularly’ to at least one of the above questions, but nutrition in golf is extremely important, and something we should all take seriously.
Some rounds of golf can burn as many as 2,000 calories. To give some perspective, that’s the recommended daily intake for women and 500 short of the daily recommended intake for men.
If you haven’t consumed enough calories, you become tired. If you’re tired, you’re far more likely to make bad decisions and mental mistakes that could cost you the monthly medal or even the club championship.
The first thing to do is make sure you come prepared. If you don’t equip yourself with some of the best snacks to have in your golf bag , you’ll inevitably end up eating chocolate bars, which really won’t do you much good.
Before all that, though, you need to consider what to eat before playing golf . Making sure you've had a solid meal that will fuel you for what's to come is essential. As is drinking water regularly in order to avoid feeling dehydrated, which affects performance. This is also key for anyone wanting to learn how to play golf with a hangover .
It's vital to stay hydrated on the course, even more so if you're sporting a hangover
After three or four holes, a good idea is to eat a cereal bar. This will provide a small boost of carbohydrate and ensure you aren’t dipping into your reserves. The more you dip into your reserves, the more your energy levels will suffer.

You don’t want to eat many carbs as the aim at this point is to stabilise levels, not increase them. Some will favour fruit and nuts, which provide a good balance of slowly digesting fibre and fat.
Around the turn, you should be looking to eat something that provides a good balance of protein, carbohydrate and fat. Something like a tuna or chicken sandwich on brown bread is ideal – chicken and tuna provide high-quality and therefore more digestible protein, and brown bread is a source of preferable carbs.
Bacon is more processed and eating white bread can result in a crash, so as tempting as it is, it’s probably best to avoid a bacon sandwich on white. Over the final six holes, you should be looking for an energy boost – this will make sure you don’t feel sluggish and help you concentrate. Bananas, dried fruit and nuts are all good options.
It's an often-overlooked aspect of performance but it can make a huge difference. So, just as you spend time and money on lessons and new equipment, invest a little into your nutrition and fuel yourself for better golf.

The hydration recipe every golfer should know to think, feel, and play their best
Koji Aoki / Aflo
Even if you don’t know much about nutrition, you probably know that high-sugar drinks are a no-no. But what PGA Tour performance dietician Ryan Harmon has noticed is that golfers are taking it to an extreme: They think the answer to proper on-course hydration is sugar-free liquids. And that’s actually not what your body needs. Without sugar, which is a carbohydrate, you can’t properly hydrate.
“You don't want the sugar too high, but a lot of people feel like they shouldn't have any sugar at all in the fluid that they hydrate with. And the issue with that is that all the science shows that we actually absorb more of our electrolytes when there's a little bit of sugar in there,” Harmon said. “So if you have a few different kinds of carbohydrate sugar in your drink with your electrolytes, that's going to be the best option.”
Some sugar (but not too much)
RELATED: This mineral improves energy and endurance — female golfers probably aren't getting enough of it
Drinking plain water isn't enough; you need sugar, salt and electrolytes to maximize your hydration, Harmon explains. You need to get them either through adding an electrolyte powder to your drink, or snacking on foods that contain the correct balance of carbohydrate and sodium. Salted cashews and bananas are two good options. Dehydration results in a decrease in cognitive as well as physical performance, so it's worth stashing a few packets of electrolyte mix in your bag to have on hand during hot rounds.

"Hydration and snack recommendations for the course are complex because it's not a one size fits all scenario," Harmon says. The only way to create an optimized hydration plan is to work with a sport dietician, but there are some basic guidelines you can follow: First, start hydrating before you get to the golf course. Once you’re on-course, “The general recommendation is to consume 4 to 8 ounces of fluid with electrolytes every 15-20 minutes. Athletes incorporating salty snacks and carbohydrates may not require the use of an electrolyte powder, unless they are a salty sweater or a heavy sweater,” Harmon said.

Is What You Eat and Drink Killing Your Golf Scores?
- December 10, 2013
David MacKenzie
It’s time to change what you eat and drink before and during your rounds if you want to reach your true potential as a golfer.
Golf isn’t the game it was 20 years ago. Golf is now much closer to “athlete” status and today’s golfers realize that they have to do everything they can to get an edge and that includes eating and drinking right – especially before and during a round. With the best food and drink for golf you can save 3-5 shots per round (at least) and this article will show you how to do it.
Have you ever felt exhausted during or after a round of golf? Then you’re not eating and drinking properly.
Golf is a unique sport in that you’re playing for 4-5 hours which is a long time to be burning calories and using your brain. It’s not like most other sports where you play intensively for an hour or so and react to what’s going on. Instead you need to switch your focus on and off for (on average) 86 times per round and then perform a precise physical action which depends on how well you’ve prepared for it. To choose the right shot, align correctly, pick the right club, read the greens etc. and then make a smooth swing, requires mental sharpness and physical energy that you won’t have if you haven’t fueled your body properly.
Here’s all you need to know (right from the Tour player play-book) to make sure you’re firing on all cylinders right up until the last putt on the 18th green. I should add that if you’re playing with your buddies and use golf as a time to indulge and eat hot-dogs and drink beer then I have nothing against that! But if you want to perform as best you can then I would advise that you follow these simple ideas and experiment with how you feel and see what it does for your scores.
The best pre-round preparation without swinging a golf club
The night before your round: rest.
Poor sleep affects growth hormone production and hence recovery from both physical and mental stress. You need a good quality sleep to think properly and access those mental skills you need for great performance. Here are a few tips to getting that great sleep before a big round:
Avoid alcohol: Although you get off to sleep quicker, it’s proven that you don’t reach the deeper levels of sleep to fully rest your brain and be sharp the following day.
Avoid drinking anything within 2 hours of going to bed : This way you avoid being woken up earlier than you need to go to the bathroom.
Avoid eating within 2 hours of going to bed: The increase in blood sugar inhibits sleep.
Free Mental Game Fundamentals eBook
The best food and drink for golf, hyrdrate like the tour pros.
Drinking water keeps your mind and body working properly and it’s critical for optimal brain function and muscle performance. If you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated, which limits your ability to concentrate and lowers your performance on the course. Being dehydrated by just 2-3% results in 10% lower performance which in an average round of golf, could be as high as 8 shots! The Tour pros take hydration very seriously and so should you, as it could make the difference between your best score and an average round.
Drink 16fl oz of water with your pre-round meal and another 8 fl oz (237 mL) 10 to 20 minutes before your round.
Make sipping water on every tee a habit (you’ll need to drink around 6fl oz every 30 minutes, more if it’s hot) as you’ll lose more and more electrolytes through sweat as the round progresses. Electrolytes is another term for the salts and minerals that transmit electrical impulses across the cells in your body so that your muscles (and brain) work properly. When you sweat, you lose these electrolytes, so to maintain peak muscle and brain function, you need to replace them by drinking water and/or electrolyte solutions.
The best pre-round meal: Ideas for your meal before round of golf
Eat your pre-round meal about 2-3 hours before you play and eat a snack an hour before you head to the first tee. Studies show that a meal containing 200-300g of carbohydrates 2-3 hours before playing increase athletic performance. If you have an early morning round, be sure to have a healthy breakfast at least an hour before playing. The quality of the carbohydrate is important. Poor quality (starchy) carbohydrates like bagels, pancakes and donuts give you a surge of energy and raise insulin levels and eventually you crash and become lethargic. You want to focus on
those carbs you get from fruit and vegetables and if you eat bread, pasta or bagels, make sure they’re whole wheat. You don’t need much fat or fiber but include a moderate amount of protein. Eat just enough to be neither hungry or full. Good examples would be:
- Vegetable omelet with fruit
- Bowl of steel-cut oatmeal with nuts
- Grilled chicken or fish with salad and vegetables (Tiger’s choice)
- Grilled chicken sandwich with soup
- Whole wheat spaghetti and pasta sauce.
- Whole wheat bagel with light cream cheese
- Yogurt and fruit
- Whole wheat toast and scrambled eggs
Snacks to eat before and during your round of golf
Eat these snacks in small amounts throughout the round to maintain energy and concentration levels. Small bites at regular intervals, just enough not to get hungry or full.
What the pros eat during a round* from Golf Digest:
- Bill Haas : Fruit and nuts
- Fredrik Jacobsen : Jerky
- Adam Scott : Clif Bars
- Yani Seng: Meiji bars (Chocolate covered almonds)
- Aaron Baddley: Almonds
- Jim Furyk: Lara Bars
- Steve Marino: Nuun tablets in water
- Ben Crane: Back Nine Electrolyte Tablets
- Matt Kuchar: Almonds
- Brittany Lincicome: Peant butter and Jelly Sandwich
- Ben Curtis: granola bars and Amino Vital
- Martin Laird: Vitalyte Electrolyte Tablets
- Phil Mickelson: Bananas
- Keegan Bradley: Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on multigrain bread, almonds, raisins, peanuts, trail mix, and always packs a few Clif Bars
Double bogey drinks and meals/snacks to avoid before and during golf:
- Coffee (too much caffeine)
- Fruit Juice (too much sugar)
- Soda (too much sugar)
- Energy drinks and bars (too much caffeine and sugar)
- Fried breakfast (empty calories)
- Pancakes (refined carbohydrate that will give you a burst of energy then make you crash)
- Donuts (as above)
- Most breakfast cereal (as above)
- Anything that lacks carbs like scrambled eggs with no toast
- Hot dogs (too high in sodium and saturated fat)
- Most Granola Bars (too much sugar)
- Beer: It’s a sedative and (unfortunately) will affect your coordination.
Many of the pros and players that I work with (including myself) have started using a system of products that are organic, whole food and packed with nutrients and highly bio-available protein but also low calorie. Not only do these systems balance out blood sugar allowing me to maintain a consistent mental focus but they also help to generally improve health leading to excess fat loss and lean muscle development.
Again, it took me a while to buy into the idea but now I wouldn’t go a day (and especially a round of golf) with the following in my body….
This diet plan includes:
1. A meal replacement shake. Great protein carbs and healthy fats. A much better alternative to the typical brands out there.
2. Energy shots (the healthy naturally caffeinated version) the doesn’t get you jittery but rather increases endurance strength and mental focus.
3. Supplemental nutrients. A daily vitamin pack that goes my body everything it needs that it isn’t getting in today’s food supply. Including the key athlete nutrients of resveratrol, vitamin D3 and CoQ10.
Those are just a few of the key systems/products I use and recommend to those I know and care about. If you’re looking for the specific system I use let me know and I can direct you to the info.

I like this post for the most part. I disagree with encouraging toast with the scrambled eggs. All the toast will really do is spike your GI for a crash. If you must go for sprouted grain bread instead of whole wheat, more protein, lower GI.

12 Ultimate Golf Drinks: What To Drink on the Course
After I finish a round of golf, I think about all the tasty and fun drinks that I can have to complete my day after beating my golf buddies on the course. Sipping a cold one after a round has turned into a way to enjoy that experience even more.
From simple beverages to more advanced cocktails, there’s a golf drink here for everyone!
The 12 best golf drinks include:
- Transfusion
- Bloody Caesar
- Dirty Shirley
- Bloody Mary
- Whiskey Sour
- Screwdriver
- Jack and Coke
- Glenmorangie
To learn how to make each drink and why they made my list, keep reading!
#1. Transfusion — Most Popular Golf Drink
#2. bloody caesar — spiciest drink, #3. dirty shirley — growing the fastest in popularity, #4. john daly — best cocktail for the summer, #5. bloody mary — best cure for a hangover, #6. whiskey sour — great choice to cover the taste of alcohol, #7. the classic screwdriver, #8. jack and coke — best for a hot day, #9. azalea — most tasty drink, #10. glenmorangie, #11. corona — for beer lovers, #12. coca-cola — best soft drink, what is the best non-alcoholic drink for golf, what is the best alcohol shot for the golf course, what is the drink named after a golfer.
Ingredients: Concord grape juice, ginger ale, vodka, and lime juice
Golf’s mightiest cocktail is the transfusion. President Dwight D. Eisenhower regularly drank the transfusion cocktail as a favorite at the Indian Wells Country Club in Palm Desert, California. Some speculate he even conceptualized this popular drink.
Transfusion grew in popularity in the 1950s. The beauty of the transfusion comes from how this country club drink only requires 4 ingredients: Concord grape juice, ginger ale, vodka, and lime juice.
Prep time: 2 to 3 minutes
Transfusion recipe:
- Fill a highball glass with ice.
- Measure 3 oz of vodka and pour it.
- Pour 1.5 oz of Concord grape juice.
- Give .25 oz of squeezed lime juice.
- Add in the ginger ale with a sliced lime to garnish.
Ingredients: Lime wedge, celery stick, Clamato juice, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, vodka, celery salt
Walter Chell invented the Bloody Caesar in 1969, and it quickly skyrocketed to fame as one of Canada’s most popular drinks. The Bloody Caesar mixes in a fishy twist to the Bloody Mary. This popular drink has spicy and sour elements, and it may taste different depending on the variation you drink.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Bloody Mary recipe:
- Coat the rim of a tall glass with celery salt. Fill the glass with ice.
- Pour 2 oz of vodka, 4 oz of Clamato juice, 2 dashes of Tabasco sauce, 1 teaspoon of horseradish, 2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce, and stir them together.
- Garnish the drink with a lime and a stick of celery.
Expert tip: Some people squeeze the garnish to add more flavor to the drink.
Ingredients: Vodka, lime juice, maraschino cherry liquor, and grenadine
The Dirty Shirley takes the innocent Shirley Temple mocktail and flips it into an alcoholic beverage for the golf course. The New York Times listed it as the Drink of the Summer in 2022, and it has continued to grow in popularity. No one knows its exact origins, but it would be safe to say that it came from Los Angeles in the 1930s. This drink boasts the same fruity flavor you loved about the Shirley Temple, but it comes with a kick of vodka.
Prep time: 1 minute
Dirty Shirley recipe:
- Fill the glass with ice.
- Pour 2 oz of vodka. Add 1 oz of grenadine.
- Top with soda and garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Ingredients: Vodka, lemonade, iced tea
The John Daly originates from the non-alcoholic Arnold Palmer beverage, which was popular at country clubs across the nation. Eventually, some folks began to experiment with the Arnold Palmer as an alcoholic drink. Most of the time, they’d call it the “adult Arnold Palmer.”
In 1991, John Daly entered the golf scene with the bold entrance of a mullet and an aw-shucks kind of attitude. John Daly had a very public struggle with alcohol, and he lost $55 million in gambling from 1991 to 2007.
It’s believed that this classic golf cocktail was renamed from the “adult Arnold Palmer” to the “John Daly” in the mid-1990s. They did this less as an honor to him and more as a big joke for his love of alcohol. You can try it in numerous variations.
The John Daly ranks as one of the popular country club drinks you will find at almost every country club with a bar.
Prep time: 3 to 5 minutes
John Daly r ecipe:
- Pour 1.25 oz of vodka
- Mix in 2 oz of lemonade and 2 oz of iced tea.
- Garnish it with a lemon.
Ingredients: Celery salt, lemon wedge, lime wedge, celery stick, paprika, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, horseradish, tomato juice, and vodka
Most attribute Fernand Petiot with the creation of the bloody mary. He invented it while still a young bartender in 1921 at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris. He published it in a recipe book, “Harry’s ABCs of Cocktails.” If you wish to concoct the best bloody mary — and this goes for most drinks — remember, the quality of the ingredients will make a difference.
The bloody Mary especially makes sense for golfers who hit the course hungover. Some evidence suggests that bloody mary can cure hangovers, whether it does though is anyone’s guess. At least it gives you the excuse to drink one of the best golf course drinks.
Prep time: 5 to 8 minutes
Bloody Mary r ecipe:
- Put some celery salt onto a small plate.
- Roll the edge of the glass in celery salt. Add ice.
- Squeeze your lemon and lime wedges into the glass.
- Pour vodka and add the tomato juice, Tabasco sauce, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, black pepper, and a pinch of celery salt.
- Strain the mixture into the glass that you prepared.
- Garnish with a lemon wedge, a celery stick, 2 speared green olives, and a parsley sprig.

Ingredients: Bourbon, simple syrup, lemon juice, orange wheel, maraschino cherry
Whiskey sour belongs to the family of sours, and most golfers honor it as a classic cocktail. It first appeared in a recipe book called Jerry Thomas’ The Bartender’s Guide in 1862.
Depending on the variation, whiskey sour tastes a bit like vanilla and caramel. Bartenders mix in an element of sour with a light squeeze of lemon juice. That sour flavor makes it good for those who wish to cover up the taste of alcohol.
Whiskey Sour r ecipe:
- To begin, mix the ingredients: 2 oz of bourbon, ¾ oz of fresh lemon juice, ¾ oz of simple syrup.
- Next, add the shaker with ice and shake the mixture. Shake it for approximately 20 seconds.
- Finally, strain the cocktail through a Hawthorne into an old-fashioned rocks glass with ice.
- Garnish it with an orange wheel and the maraschino cherry.
Ingredients: Orange juice, vodka
You can get the screwdriver in many variations, but the most popular is orange juice and vodka — the classic screwdriver. This one tastes mostly like orange juice with a subtle hint of vodka. You can barely perceive the alcohol, but this bad boy will quickly take you to the land of inebriation. Take it easy with screwdrivers because you can drink too much without realizing it.
Classic screwdriver r ecipe:
- Take 0.75 oz of vodka and mix it with 0.5 oz of orange juice.
- Garnish with an orange slice and drink to a better round next time.
Ingredients: Jack Daniels, Coca-Cola, lemon juice
If you’re going out for golf and drinks, check out this especially popular alcoholic beverage in the American South — Jack and Coke. If you’re ordering this out, you must remember two key things: highball and lowball cocktails. Highball means you get a higher percentage of mixer or cola in the drink over alcohol.
Lowball means you’re going to feel good for a while after this. Jack and Coke is usually a highball cocktail with the perfect mix at 7% ABV. Some golfers balance the flavors out with a squeeze of lemon juice. I’d recommend it.
Prep time: 2 minutes
Jack and Coke r ecipe:
- Put the ice cubes into the highball cocktail glass
- Pour 2 oz of Jack Daniels and 4 oz of Coca-Cola into the glass
- Squeeze in a lemon to balance the flavors
Ingredients: Lemon juice, pineapple juice, grenadine, and vodka
The Azalea has earned the title of the unofficial cocktail at the Masters, and it remains one of the top golf drinks. In fact, this golf cocktail is named Azalea after the pink flowers that bloom at the Augusta National Golf Club every April. It’s also named after the 13th hole of this same course. This light cocktail has a sweet and fruity flavor. The bright notes of tart citrus add another dimension.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Azalea r ecipe:
- Mix in 1 oz lemon juice, 2 oz pineapple juice, 1 splash of grenadine, and 2 oz vodka
- Garnish it with a lemon slice.
- Refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes and serve cool.

Ingredients: Glenmorangie Original, fresh lemon, chamomile honey, pink grapefruit, Manzanilla sherry
Also known as single malt whiskey, William and Ann Matheson, farmers in the Scottish Highlands, invented Glenmorangie in 1843 when they founded the Glenmorangie Distillery.
Glenmorangie sponsored the Open Golf Championship in 2015. They created two golf course drinks to enjoy on the 19th hole. One they call the Scottish links, and the other they call tee-off. Below you’ll find recipes for both
Prep time: 4 to 5 minutes
Glenmorangie Scottish links recipe:
- Mix in 50 ml of Glenmorangie Original, 10ml of Manzanilla sherry, 15ml of pink grapefruit, 20ml of chamomile honey, 15ml of fresh lemon
- Shake and strain the mixture
- Add ice to your prepared rocks glass
- Top it with soda
- Garnish it with a pink grapefruit.
Glenmorangie tee-off recipe:
- Pour 50 ml of Glenmorangie Original, 15 ml of simple syrup, 20 ml of fresh lemon juice, and 50 ml of Cold Earl Grey tea. Shake in all the ingredients except the bitter lemon.
- Strain it into a highball cocktail glass
- Top it with the fever tree bitter lemon.
- Garnish it with an orange twist.
Let’s face it, cocktails aren’t for everyone. Some people wouldn’t be caught dead sipping one! For those folks, Corona makes an excellent choice for the golf course.
This lager never fails to hit the spot for me, and it’s certainly cheaper than sourcing ingredients to make your own cocktail. What’s more, you don’t have to go through the effort of making it, it’s already been done for you!
Coca-Cola is not only the most popular soft drink in the USA but also holds this title worldwide. Therefore, if you’d rather ditch alcohol and keep a clear head, Coca-Cola is perhaps the best drink for the job.
Like with Corona Light, you purchase the drink pre-made, which is far more convenient than having to make it yourself, like for cocktails. Simply throw a can or two in your golf bag, and you’re good to go!
Frequently Asked Questions
Orange juice, lemonade, or even water is a great choice to stay hydrated while out on the golf course. Keep them chilled in a cool box for maximum enjoyment.
Bourbon is the most common liquor that you will find on any golf course, but you can find plenty of other alcoholic drinks there. We recommend taking along whatever alcohol you enjoy the most. Just remember to drink responsibly so that you don't ruin your round.
You might choose the Arnold Palmer for a non-alcoholic drink, which is iced tea and lemonade. For those who want a little more kick, you’d choose the John Daly which has mostly vodka, lemonade, and iced tea.

If you’re looking for a golfer drink, try out one of the ones mentioned above, they’re far more interesting than just drinking water while you’re out on the course.
Hopefully, you saw one or two golf cocktails on this list that you’d like to try out. I’m a big fan of Jack and Coke in particular. It’s simple to make and one of the best tasting in my opinion. I strongly encourage you to give at least one of these golf drinks ago. Who knows? It could end up being your favorite drink!

Tucson, Arizona is one of our Best Places to Go in the North America for 2024 , part of our global guide to the Best Places to Go in 2024 —find more travel inspiration here .
The vast state of Arizona is a traveler’s paradise. Whether relaxing into a resort vacation in Scottsdale and Phoenix , soaking up the energy vortex of Sedona, or slipping through the swirling crevices of Antelope Canyon is what you seek, the Grand Canyon State (did you realize that most of the famed canyon is in AZ?) has plenty to thrill the modern jet set. But if you’re craving a city that will also fill you up with fantastic food and drink after wearing you out with thrilling outdoor pursuits, then you have to add Tucson to your Arizona itinerary. About 70 miles north of the Mexican border, Tucson’s tourism cache is growing rapidly thanks to its enchanting combination of experiences that can be savored year-round in the 350-plus days of annual sunshine. Did we mention that some of the country’s top wellness retreats and golf courses are located just on the outskirts of town, too? Tucson has something for everyone.
Saguaro National Park surrounds Tucson and is a great place to get a feel for the region's topography, whether you're hiking or biking.
What to do in Tucson: Golf, wine tasting, art
Located 70 miles from the Mexico border, the Tucson area is home to over 40 golf courses and features a mix of public, private, and municipal (often the most affordable) turfs. Tee enthusiasts have been coming to Tucson since the 1940s thanks to this variety of courses and the favorable weather. Every March since 2015, Tucson hosts the Cologuard Classic, a PGA TOUR Champions Tour event played on a Jack Nicklaus-designed course in the Santa Catalina Mountains. But the most picturesque course might be 18-hole Stone Canyon Club north of Tucson, which was ruggedly designed by architect Jay Morrish. You’ll appreciate the drama provided by the Catalina Mountains and the Sonoran desert. Think about it: lush fairway surrounded by towering saguaro cacti. But to get a real feel for Tucson’s unique desert topography, Saguaro National Park surrounds the city; you can ramp up the lever on the activity meter with either a hike or an adrenaline-pushing mountain-biking excursion. If you only have time for one day out, head northeast of central Tucson for Sabino Canyon, where over a dozen trails, verdant desert foliage, and various dams and creeks make it a beloved hiking destination.
Mountain biking is becoming more popular here, and the southwest’s stunning landscape. If you’re just starting out, scope out the terrain at the Sweetwater Preserve Trailhead in the eastern foothills of Tucson Mountains and Honeybee Canyon in the Oro Valley. Both feature relatively milder pitches that usually appeal to novices. More advanced riding awaits on Mount Lemmon. Expertise aside, you should hire a guide anyway to ensure a seamless and safe adventure. The folks at Homegrown are some of the most dedicated. Its owner Art is a founding member of the Tucson Off-Road Cyclists and Activists, a non-profit that advocates for the thoughtful development of Tucson’s trails. Speaking of terroir, southern Arizona has an exciting wine scene developing thanks to farmlands fertile enough to yield high-quality grapes. You’ll find many restaurants in town serving local bottles in their drink lists. To get up-close and personal with the vineyards and winemakers, however, take a day trip to Sonoita , a burgeoning wine country just 50 miles south of town. Tap Arizona Winery Tours to lead a customized private visit, but you definitely don’t want to miss Los Milics , a newly launched winery from Pavle Milic, co-owner and wine expert at FnB , one of the best restaurants in Arizona. For more cultural exploits, you’ll want to explore Barrio Viejo, the largest barrio in the country. It was first established when Tucson was still part of Mexico, and it was the long-standing heart of life in the city. Today, Barrio Viejo, where you’ll find the largest collection of Sonoran adobe structures in the country, is going through some pretty significant changes as new projects (from bars and restaurants to hotels and galleries) open in these historic buildings. Tucson Presidio Museum leads a 90-minute walking tour ($30) of the neighborhood, during which you’ll learn not only of its history but also about the various businesses that call it home. For an extra $10, you can share a snack and a margarita with your guide following the tour to continue the conversation. Another landmark worth adding to your list of must-dos is the Mission San Xavier del Bac , which is located about 10 miles southwest of the city. It was founded in 1692 and the current building has been around since 1797 making it the oldest (and to many, the best-looking) colonial relic in the US. There are many world-class museums in Tucson (the Tucson Museum of Art turns 100 this year), but The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures is a more unusual choice: It's hosting a whimsical exhibit on mini pencils until May 15, 2024.
Sand Reckoner’s Tucson tasting room is a great place to try local Arizona wines.
El Guero Canelo is famous for its Sonoran hot dog, where the dog is wrapped in bacon and loaded with beans, onions, tomatoes, and jalapeño sauce.
Where to eat and drink Tucson
El Charro Cafe , originally founded in 1922, is the country’s oldest family-owned Mexican restaurant, and it’s still among the most popular in Tucson. All three locations serve a robust menu of classics, from queso-stuffed rellenos to a variety of soft-shell tacos, but the must-order here is the Carne Seca platter. El Charro’s trademark dish, perfected over a hundred years now, orbits around angus beef that’s been marinated, sun-dried, shredded, and grilled before it’s plated with the works.
A James Beard American Classic, El Guero Canelo is famous for its Sonoran hot dog, which features a bacon-wrapped dog stuffed into a Mexico-made bun before it’s all loaded with beans, onions, tomatoes, and jalapeño sauce. Every week, James Beard winner Don Guerra’s Barrio Bread makes nearly 4,000 loaves all featuring local or heritage grains from the southwest. In their Tucson cafe, you can have your pick from countless styles, from a simple baguette to cinnamon-raisin and mesquite-flavored. You can also find a pan-Latin vegetarian and gluten-free meal at Tumerico , where the menu changes daily. One day you may get to try enchilada calabacita (stuffed with zucchini, squash, and other veggies); another day might feature a jackfruit taco.

Elsewhere, try Scott Girod’s wood-fired pizzas at Anello , largely considered by many to be the best pie purveyor in town. Girod was a protege of Chris Bianco, one of the country’s most celebrated pizza makers, and here, his Neapolitan-style creations are flavored with very Italian ingredients like guanciale and pistachio. There are a couple of other contenders for the people’s affections, including the newer operations at Penelope , where pizzas are unexpectedly drizzled with a tasty sauce: ranch, balsamic glaze, hot sauce, etc.
Foodies should also stop at Fat Boy sandos for Japanese-style sandwiches, Monsoon Chocolates ’ newly opened cafe and market for addictive bon-bons (the cocoa nib horchata is ace), and Houlden's , which supplies lots of local eateries with their cult-favored vegan pastries, but their new bakery gathers the greatest hits into one easy-to-binge location.
Wash everything down at Sand Reckoner’s Tucson tasting room , where you can try more Arizona wines. (The small vineyard is just outside Wilcox.) The crisp Malvasia is great for warm Tucson afternoons. For coffee, there are plenty to choose from in this city, but pop into EXO Roast Co. for their southwest-inspired beverages, the best of which is the eye-opening mesquite cold brew, which comes with a seriously drinkable savory-sweet profile.
The Leo Kent Hotel, Tucson, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel is one of a couple new boutique hotels in the city, this one boasting glamorous interiors in a downtown setting.
Where to stay in Tucson
The city recently welcomed a couple of fantastic boutique hotels. At the foothills of the Catalina Mountain, The Eddy Hotel Tucson, Tapestry Collection by Hilton has 106 minimally decorated rooms whose colors mimic the stark hues of the surrounding desert. The small outdoor pool, where you’ll want to cool off when it gets too hot out, has become the social hub of the property. Just as new is The Leo Kent Hotel, Tucson, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel , where more glamorous interiors suit its downtown location. A soaring lobby crowned with a crystal chandelier, lots of dark wood surfaces, and southwest-inspired textiles (clock the carpet in the 145 rooms and suites) create a more city-slicker visual experience here. If you’d prefer a resort stay, you’ll be spoiled for choice in Tucson. But wellness enthusiasts shouldn’t forget that Canyon Ranch , a pioneer in the all-inclusive wellness travel space, founded its brand with a property here. This desert oasis may be known for its vast collection of results-oriented spiritual, health, and fitness programs designed by leaders in their fields, but you can also come to just relax by pool, indulge in some spa treatments, and tuck into some good-for-you meals.

This luxury golf resort in mexico offers much more than great play.

At Mayakoba you can have it all: One of Mexico's best golf courses, stunning beaches, luxury hotels ... [+] (this is the Fairmont) and the resort's 6-mile canal and lagoon sytem, plied by environmentally friendly e-boats.
There are a lot of standout golf courses South of the Border—and a lot of luxury resorts—but when the PGA Tour decided to add a tournament in Mexico for the first time, they went to Mayakoba. When the rival LIV Tour decided to go to Mexico for the first time, they also went to Mayakoba. If you want to play golf in Mexico, you might want to join the best players in the world and choose Mayakoba.
But unlike many top golf resorts, this one is about more than golf. Much more.
Mayakoba is home to 28 Forbes Stars (four 5-Star and two 4-Star). I have been several times, and even got the unique chance to visit a couple of years before it opened. The developer held an event to outline what seemed like an outlandish vision—turning roughly 600-acres of challenging terrain into a forward thinking, environmentally sensitive, sustainably focused, luxury resort with four different hotels, each with a significant spa, plus multiple beaches and dozens of bars and restaurants. Shared amenities include 3-miles of nature trails, bike paths connecting it all, a stunning Greg Norman designed golf course, dedicated golf academy (with Jim McLean golf school), and El Pueblito, a village center modeled after the historic colonial plazas of Mexico. In addition to the many shops and eateries within each of the hotels, El Pueblito has a mix of sidewalk restaurants and shops surrounding a parklike Plaza. It hosts art exhibitions, craft markets, live entertainment and cultural activities throughout the year and has a family friendly arcade and dedicated cooking school.
The aptly named El Cameleon (Chameleon) golf course changes settings dramatically throughout, ... [+] including this coastal beachfront stretch.
The scope of Mayakoba is highly unusual in North America, most similar to the mega-resorts of Hawaii (Kapalua, Wailea, Waikoloa, etc.) which couple multiple hotels with golf courses and other amenities on a large parcel of land. But unlike Hawaiian resorts—or any resorts I know of anywhere—the hotels, beaches and facilities at Mayakoba are all linked by a series of navigable canals/lagoons. These in turn host a fleet of electric boats and greatly reduce the need for cars within the property. For guests who want to move about under their own power, all of the hotels have loaner bikes, and the path system allows for easy exploration. When you do need a four-wheel lift, such as to the golf course, shuttles are on demand and very responsive.
The minimization of vehicles is part of the ongoing effort to preserve the lush water and jungle ecosystem. There are more than 300 species of birds and native wildlife, plus mangrove forests, and among the first employees of Mayakoba were the team of naturalists who started mapping habitat and planning for sensitive development before ground was even broken. Biologists worked with the architects, and while each hotel has a beach and some have beachfront villas, the hotels were all intentionally set back to lessen waterfront density and minimize coastal environmental impact. Almost a third of the entire property is protected acreage, including the mangrove forests—which have grown and improved in health since the resort opened—and all four hotels hold notable environmental certifications. Mayakoba has won many awards for sustainability, including the Ulysses Prize from the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
Huawei s Pura 70 Ultra Beats iPhone With Pioneering New Feature
The juan soto trade has helped both the yankees and the san diego padres, four reportedly hurt after army horses run loose through central london.
Walking the fairways or boating the lagoons - why choose when you can do both?
I say challenging terrain because most of the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan Peninsula on which it is located is topped with a thick layer of limestone—about70,000 square miles of the stuff. It is costly and difficult to excavate and build on, especially when digging out massive canals and infrastructure. With little top soil, even the simple act of growing grass is difficult. I’ve seen many proposed hospitality projects over the years that sounded great until reality set in, and the logistics behind the creation of Mayakoba suggested that its completion might be unlikely. But a couple of years later, the resort opened, I returned, and it was everything they had hoped for and more. In the years since, it has only gotten better. In the past three years alone, there was $120 million in improvements, which are highly visible.
The greatest Mayan ruins are found here, includng Tulum, Coba and this one, Chichen Itza.
One of the big pushes has been the expansion of “Mayakoba Experiences,” which include offsite tours and transportation. The resort operates its own fleet of luxury SUVs with full-time employee drivers, uncommon in the industry. Airport transfers include onboard coolers stocked with beer, soft drinks and food (the arrival experience is hard to beat!) and off-site tours include local highlights such as Mayan ruins. They also added the $1.7 million VanDutch Yacht, equipped with Sublue underwater scooters and offered for charters from a two-hour snorkeling trip to full-day cruise with chef-catered meals. The resort has a variety of other watercraft, with fishing, diving, sunset cocktails and all sorts of ocean excursions available.
One of the most interesting experiences is the opportunity for guests to participate hands on in the coral reef restoration project Mayakoba launched a decade ago. Working with two non-profit foundations, there are three coral nurseries in the Puerto Morelos National Park, from which healthy coral fragments are transferred to the offshore reef restoration sites. Guests can snorkel the farms, help with the relocation, and since 2015 more than 2,000 corals have been added.
All of Mayakoba is interconnected by biking paths, and it's a great way to get around.
One thing that I love about Mayakoba is that all of its four hotels have a distinct personality and all are owned by the same local ownership (a Mexican hotel group) as the resort itself, which is very unusual. In most cases a hotel lot is sold to a developer who then contracts with a management brand. This unique setup has allowed the owners to control the quality, reinvest regularly and provide an exceptional consistency of service and products across the entire property. I can think of two different resorts with golf and multiple hotels that opened with Ritz-Carltons as their flagships, then repeatedly downgraded over the years to less and less luxurious brands. But while many hotels flip flop and change management every few years, Mayakoba has stayed the course, and repeat visitors know what they are going to get. The past three years have seen the owners invest $120 million in improvements that range from new beach clubs, restaurants, spas and luxury villas at individual hotels to a brand new dive and watersports center for all resort guests. The golf course also got a major facelift in 2023.
The lodging array also gives travelers addicted to loyalty programs a couple of options, Hyatt’s World of Hyatt (28 brands including luxury names such as Miraval, Alila, Park Hyatt and Thompson) and Accor’s Live Limitless (Fairmont, Delano, Raffles, Banyan Tree SLS, Sofitel, OneFineStay, Swissotel, etc.)
With close to three dozen bars and restaurants, you won't go hungry. This is the fresh seafood ... [+] display at one of the eateries at the Banyan Tree resort.
On the other side of the country, Cabo San Lucas is home to multiple luxury hotels from many of the world’s best known brands, and it can be very hard to choose. But in the Riviera Maya, the vast majority of larger resorts are all-inclusive, with a slim handful of small luxe boutique properties thrown in. If these are not what you are looking for, there is little competition outside Mayakoba, making it easily top pick in the large region. There’s even less to choose from for golfers not seeking all-inclusive, and in any case, the Greg Norman designed El Cameleon is the region’s best (I have written extensively on golf in the Riveira Maya and played the other nearby courses). It means The Chameleon, and is so named because it changes character every few holes, with sections that are oceanfront, in mangrove forest, in jungle, and even featuring rocky cenote canyons. It’s like a tour of the region’s ecosystem while enjoying great golf.
If you have not played golf at Mayakoba, you have probably never played over a fairway cenote ... [+] (sinkhole cave).
Mayakoba is also home to the first and only Jim McLean Golf Academy in Mexico . McLean is one of the world’s top golf instructors (ranked number four by Golf Digest) . The school has two-bays equipped with the latest instructional technology, and Mayakoba also has a state-of-the-art practice facility.
In addition to golf, Mayakoba has a full dive and water sports center with SCUBA, jet skis, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, snorkeling, sailing, fishing and more. You can also kayak or hydrobike on the six miles of crystal-clear canals and lagoons through the resort’s protected mangrove forests. The tennis and racket sports center has regular courts, pickleball and fast-growing padel.
The e-boats and canal system connects hotels, restaurants, and can even take you to your guest room
Mayakoba’s lodging pre-eminence in the area is even more important because the Riviera Maya itself is one of the world’s greatest tourism regions, a place I frequently recommend to inquiring friends, with something for almost every taste. It is home to the world’s second longest barrier reef (after Australia), while inland it is full of cenotes, holes in the limestone filled with water that offer great diving and snorkeling. The watersports are world class, from diving to fishing, and the region is full of the most famous Mayan ruins and pyramids (too many to list but highlights include Tulum, Coba and Chichen Itza). There are miles and miles of beautiful beaches, the charming anchor town of Playa del Carmen, the offshore island of Cozumel, many cultural attractions, and excellent food all over the place.
Whether you want to golf, lay at the beach, dive, fish, sail, indulge in culinary exploration or travel back in time, this is the place. The gateway airport of Cancun (south of Cancun itself, as is the Riviera Maya) is a modern airport with a lot of flights from all over the U.S., and a new international airport just opened at the region’s southern end, Tulum. Mayakoba sits pretty much in the center, and while it has always been easy to get to, now it is even easier.
$120 million in recent renovations added this new beach club and adjacent beachfront luury suites at ... [+] the Banyan Tree Mayakoba.
The four hotels within Mayakoba are all excellent but span a nice variety of price points. They are easy to move between but separated enough so that you feel like you are in one individual resort wherever you stay. This is not one of those spots with hotel after hotel lined up along the beach, and nothing is high-rise. Each is self-contained, spread out, and has a feeling of immersive privacy. In past visits I have stayed at all except the Rosewood. Most recently I visited this year and stayed at the Banyan Tree. There are also residences for sale within the Rosewood and Fairmont properties, and some of these are in the rental pool in addition to hotels rooms, suites and villas. Owners have access to all of the facilities across the four hotels.
Overwater luxury villas at the Forbes 5-Star Rosewood Mayakoba.
The two most luxurious are the Rosewood and Banyan Tree, both of which earn the highest possible Forbes 5-Star rating. Both also have Forbes 5-Star spas attached. Rosewood is one of the best U.S. based luxury hotel brands, and I have never been to one that disappointed. The Rosewood Mayakoba completed a $20 million renovation in 2019, and has nothing but 129 suites and lavish villas, and even the smallest suite, the Lagoon Studio Suite, has a private plunge pool and outdoor shower and spans 788 square feet inside and over 1,000 in total. Units have private docks and the check-in experience includes arrival at your room by boat. There are even overwater suites, and the hotel sits on a mile-long stretch of white sand beach. The 5-Star spa, Sense, has eight “island suites”, and a sensory garden. There are seven bars and restaurants with an emphasis on varied Mexican cuisine, as well as a chef’s garden.
Banyan Tree is likewise one of the top Asian luxury brands, based in Singapore but launched in Thailand. It is known for its villa-based architecture, excellent cuisine, and emphasis on spa and wellness, and the Mayakoba location does not disappoint, with villas from 3,153 to 5,511 square feet. The hotel was massively renovated in 2022, adding the expansive new Sands Beach Club, 34 new beachfront pool suites, and 7 new floating rooftop pool lagoon villas. Every unit has its own private plunge or full-sized pool and private garden-style outdoor living area, and some have full outdoor bathrooms with showers and soaking tubs. It has a large and elaborate private beach club, beachfront villas, and an exceptional spa—every therapist comes here from Thailand.
If an outdoor shower just isn't enough, luxury villas at the Banyan Tree add an outdoor soaking tub ... [+] - and private pool (not shown).
For its number of rooms, the dining options are unbelievable, with a dozen bars and restaurants, and a varied, eclectic selection. They even have live cigar rollers in the lobby bar on weekends. In addition to Mexican there’s a Latin steakhouse with South American flair and open fire cooking, a high-end Italian eatery, an immersion cultural experience serving Mayan cuisine with entertainment, an adult-only tapas and paella spot and even a Kosher restaurant. But the signature is the waterfront Saffron, serving Thai cuisine in honor of the brand’s roots, and this is the most popular eatery within all of Mayakoba, drawing guests from every hotel. Specialized dining options include romantic canal dinners on the resort’s electric boats and private in-villa barbecues, cooked in your garden.
Saffron, the waterfront Thai eatery at the Banyan Tree, is the signature restaurant for the entire ... [+] Mayakoba resort.
The Forbes 4-Star Fairmont Mayakoba is the largest hotel here, with 401 rooms and suites, including a collection of larger beach and lagoon casitas. Sitting right on the course, it was the first to open and the most golf-centric. It also got a resort-wide renovation in 2022, adding the new Maykana Beach Club, home to a whopping five new dining concepts, plus a new rooftop bar, El Cielo, and updates of its 188 suites. The 37,000-square-foot newly renovated Spa also gets Forbes 4-Stars and features 20 treatment rooms, mineral pools and steam rooms.
You can travel from the Caribbean to South Pacific, but you won't find many hotel beaches better ... [+] than the one at Andaz Mayakoba.
The Andaz Mayakoba (Hyatt) is technically the entry level choice, and the only one without Forbes stars, but I stayed here and absolutely loved it. The food was great, and while all of the beaches at the hotels here are exceptional, with gently sloping shallow water stretching far from land, sandy bottoms and protective outer barriers, this was my favorite—and one of the best hotel beaches I’ve seen in the world. The central pool complex spills down to the sand, and there’s just an escapist, tropical flair to the low rise resort. The Andaz features 214 guestrooms, including 41 luxury suites with private plunge pools, multiple restaurants and bars, and of course, a large spa and state-of-the-art gym.
While the lodging choices are very varied, the good news is that there is no wrong choice. You could go to Mayakoba over and over again, stay in different places, do different things and eat at different restaurants, and it would take a lot of vacations to see and do it all. You’re not likely to fit in every great experience available here, but it would be fun to try.

From hearty dumplings to colourful confectionary, Moscow serves up culinary delights to please a tsar
With the ban on imported ingredients from the EU, Russia has turned to sourcing local produce and reinventing traditional dishes by giving them a fresh twist. The city’s restaurants are very diverse–you’ll find Soviet-themed canteens, glamorous upmarket establishments, and family-owned eateries alike. If you’re ready to sample Russia’s traditional culinary delights, here’s what you should try in Moscow and where to find them.
Dumplings are popular throughout Eastern Europe, but what sets Russia’s version apart is the semi-circular shape and thinness of the dough. Stuffed with minced meat, onion and herbs, pelmeni are enjoyed with melted butter, sour cream, tomato sauce, or vinegar, depending on the restaurant. Muscovites like to keep their dumplings in the freezer, popping them into boiling pots of water for a quick meal as and when desired.
Where to try: Lepim i Varim’s (Prospekt Mira 26/1) mission is “to cook the best dumplings on Earth”, and you’ll need to do a lot of travelling if you want to prove them wrong.
Borshch Moskovsky (Moscow style borscht)
There’s much more to borscht than beetroot. Beloved by the Slavs, this sour soup has spread far and wide across Eastern Europe, adopted to local tastes along the way. When in Moscow, you’ll want to try their version of the dish – expect to spot beef, ham and Vienna sausage pieces in the broth.
Where to try: Grand-Café Dr.Zhivago (Mokhovaya Street 15/1).
Similar to crepes, these traditional Russian pancakes are wafer-thin. They’re made from wheat or buckwheat flour and served either sweet or savoury, with ingredients/additions such as jam, sour cream, butter and caviar. Although they come out of the frying pan round, it’s rare to find them in that shape on your plate. Instead, they’re folded neatly into triangles, squares or simply rolled up.
Where to try: Step into the stylised canteen of Grably (Pyatnitskaya Street 27) for its budget-friendly selection of blinis which includes sweet options, fruity options, meat options, or the classic savoury.
Moscow’s doughnuts are round and can be filled with just about anything sweet, but are always served piping hot and with powdered sugar. These treats are nostalgic for many Russians, as they’re easy to make and common comfort food.
Where to try: Opposite the Ostankino palace (Ostankinskaya Street 1), there’s a little pink house serving these hearty doughnuts in a traditional paper bag.
This staple breakfast porridge is traditionally made of crumbly buckwheat that has been thickened with water or milk and seasoned with butter. It is often served with fried onions, or with sugar and milk.
Where to try: Coffee Piu (Chistoprudny Boulevard 9) is a cute little coffee shop, where kasha is a constant special.
Cabbage soup has been around since the 9th century and is a large part of Russian culture, usually enjoyed in the summertime. This dish can be prepared in a wide variety of ways: with or without meat, with fish, roasting the vegetables beforehand or not.
Where to try: At Matryoshka (Kutuzovsky Avenue 2/1) you’ll find many traditional Russian dishes set among furniture and curiosities with an old-world glamour feel/touch.
Enjoyed as a snack, these large baked or fried buns are typically stuffed with beef but also come with other fillings, like salmon, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, onions and egg, or cabbage. Sweet-based fillings include fruit, jam, or cottage cheese.
Where to try: Skalka (Lavochkina Street)
Once considered an expensive treat, this traditional dessert dates back to the 16th century and is made from baked fruit puree, egg whites, sugar or honey. Available in all colours and fruit flavours, these airy squares of confectionary are like a cross between jellies and marshmallows.
Where to try: Head to Café Pushkin (Tverskoy Boulevard 26). What better place to try this traditional upscale Russian treat than at a restaurant dedicated to style and history?
Think vodka isn’t for you? Try the real deal in Moscow and think again. Specifically, you should seek out local brands like Moskovskaya Osobaya. There’s also etiquette to go along with the experience – snack on pickles while drinking, and if you’re the one pouring the shots, you’re expected to make the toast.
Where to try: Bar Luch (Bol. Pirogovskaya 27) has one of the most impressive selections of drinks in Moscow.
Known as the drink of the 18th century, this sweet liquor is homemade by mixing various fruit and berries with vodka – making for a good vodka-alternative if you’re not a fan of drinking it neat. It can be made with just about any fruit and mixture of sugar, with the most popular flavour being cherries and honey. Nalivka is often served as dessert, with tea, or to accompany sweets.
Where to try: Odessa-Mama (Krivokolennyy Pereulok)

Keith Lee says he was 'blown away' by Toronto and ranks it top 3 on food tour
Latest Videos
It looks like Keith Lee's FamiLEE food tour has officially rolled through Toronto, but not before the food critic declared the city as one of the top three places he's visited so far.
In Lee's latest video, he recaps the restaurants he visited during his time in the city.
@keith_lee125 Toronto Food taste test 💕 would you try it ? 💕 #foodcritic @SUMAQ IRAQI CHARCOAL GRILL @Old Nassau @Biscuits To Baskets @The Brandon Gonez Show @D. @Jemilla Mills-Smith ✨ @Afro's Pizza @Jibreel Moore @No.1 ♬ original sound - Keith Lee
Lee's recap of Toronto highlights the surges in business each restaurant has seen in the wake of his reviews — from the already popular Sumaq Iraqi Charcoal Grill getting even popular, to the 'if-you-know-you-know,' Old Nassau becoming a city staple.
Lee even highlights No. 1 Jerk , where he alleged he was served by a "hungover" staff member, who have since introduced a "Keith Lee Hour Hangover Special," in honour of the now-infamous review.
The food tour has included stops in Arizona, Hawaii, Washington, Texas and more so far, but Toronto has marked the first international stop for Keith Lee.
Clearly, the TikTok star was impressed by what Toronto had to offer, stating in his video that he was "blown away," by the response to his reviews in the city.
"For this to be our first international food stop, I did not expect this kind of reception," Lee says in the video. "I was blown away the entire time. My mind was blown."
"Canada, y'all showed up and y'all showed out," he says. "Toronto, I appreciate you."
