M & M Tours

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows if the M&M factory in High St. does any type of tours. I live in Countryside Apartments and I would love to go in for a tour. Thank you all

No they don't,from what I understand the building is to small for tours, there was another thread on this somewhere

As far as I understand, No they do not give tours. Wish they did!!

Your not missing much - last time i was in there was probably 1999. The place is old and noisy and in some rooms very hot like over 90 degrees or very cold. There are forklifts running all over the place or machinery running in noisy places like the candy packing room so it probably isn't feasible for them to be running the general population through there - not safe.

They do not give tours anymore because people weren't listening when they gave tours and were touching the conveyer belts.

If you want to take a factory tour somewhere, Try Herr's in PA they have a great tour and offer samples at the end. Also their 4th of July firework display is one of the best I've seen.

If you want to take a factory tour somewhere, Try Herr's in PA they have a great tour and offer samples at the end. Also their 4th of July firework display is one of the best I've seen. octobaby10 Or if you can't do Herr's, do His I'll be here all week folks

Don't quit your day job, Clyde.

Martin Guitars used to have a great tour and a museum. I think they are in Nazareth Pa.

Martin Guitars ...... BEST ..... TOUR ..... EVER ...... (even better than the old Stroh's Brewery tours!! :-) )

We love factory tours. I like the Yuengling tour in Pottsville, PA. Free beer or soda at the end

Thanks JA~ we just may head over to the Yeungling tour next week. Any suggestions where to get lunch afterwards?

Baci's Mom... Farlow's Deli, best hoagies in town, hands down.

And... if you know anyone who likes kielbasa, the very best is made about 10 miles north of Pottsville in Shenandoah at Capitol Food Market. It's about 15 minutes out of the way, but you won't regret it, I promise.

Kielbasi Festival in Shenandoah, Pa will be on Sat. May 17th. Kowalonek's kielbasi is the best.

Au contraire, PBM. Kowalonek makes a decent enough kielbasa and has an easier to find location right on Main Street, which might make them popular with the tourist crowd... but everyone in the know knows that for the BEST kielbasa in NEPA, you have to go to Capitol on East Washington. This Saturday, huh? Is three months too young for a first taste of kielbasa? I wonder....

M&M's mark 75 years with rare look inside N.J. factory (VIDEO)

A mural in one of the factory's hallways is a throwback to an old ad: Peanuts jumping in a pool of chocolate, then using the showers to apply their signature candy shell.

The real process of making M&M's is a little more complicated.

The chocolate morsels are marking their 75th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, manufacturer  Mars Chocolate North America on Wednesday provided a rare look at the  Hackettstown factory that it says makes half of the continent's M&M's.

"It's unreal," site director Leighanne Eide said of the anniversary. "You say you work at the Hackettstown plant, you say you make M&M's. ... It's the coolest job in the world. It's very iconic. It's global. Everyone knows what M&M's are."

But do they know where they come from?

The history

Frank C. Mars started delving into the confectionery business in 1911 from his home in Tacoma, Washington, and launched the Milky Way bar with his son in the 1920s, according to the company.

M&M's were established in 1941 as a military ration made in Newark. The operation was moved to Hackettstown in 1958 to accommodate greater demand and space.

About 1,200 employees work at the 460,000-square-foot plant and 100,000-square-foot Mars Chocolate national office. Some of them are third-generation associates, following their grandparents who worked at the Newark plant, Eide said.

"Mars is a really big believer in producing products within communities where they can find their resources and they're committed to the communities that they operate in," said public relations manager Jessica Greco.

The  Warren County freeholders issued a proclamation designating March as M&M's Brand Chocolate Candies Month. It's one of the county's largest employers and, Freeholder Ed Smith said, "puts Warren County on the map."

The present

As part of what Greco called "one big birthday celebration," the factory was opened Wednesday to media.

"We can't show you everything," Eide said before the tour. "But hopefully you get a sneak peak into a little of the cool things."

Behind the bright, colorful open-concept front offices, murals of candy cartoons line the long, sweet-smelling hallways of the factory where Mars' core products are made.

The chocolate is mixed in large, hot vats before being tempered and shaped by huge rotating drums. For peanut M&M's -- the site's biggest seller, Greco said -- the peanuts are roasted and tossed in a chocolate spray.

The candies are sent to rows of spinning drums where the iconic candy coating is applied, a process that Eide said typically takes four to six hours. Soon after, they are sorted, packaged and rolled off the assembly line.

New innovations and ad campaigns are in the works for the 75th anniversary, Greco said. Among them: Customers will soon be able to vote on a new flavor of peanut M&M's -- honey, coffee or chili.

It was announced earlier this year that  artificial coloring will be removed from all Mars products.

The company is also honoring the military roots of M&M's, pledging to donate $750,000 worth of Mars Chocolate care packages to the troops in the next year.

Eide said "big" innovations are on the way, but could not be more specific.

"You'll have to see to find out," she said.

Take a tour of the Mars Chocolate office, where life-size M&M's greet you at the door with free candy

Working for a candy company can be pretty sweet— especially if your employer is Mars.

According to  employees  at Mars Chocolate  — a segment of the $33 billion  Mars candy, pet care, and beverage company — the free Snickers and M&Ms aren't even the best part of their job.

"Mars Chocolate is a truly unique place to work," one associate told Business Insider during a recent visit to the  Hackettstown, New Jersey, office . "Everyone is passionate about the work they are doing — and the people are incredible.  We are one big family and that's not something you get everywhere."

Mars — which was ranked on Fortune's "100 Best Companies To Work For" list in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 — employs 72,000 people (who they call "associates") worldwide and over 25,000 in the US. About 16,000 of those global associates work for Mars Chocolate.

Here are some photos from our tour of the Mars Chocolate North America office in Hackettstown:

Of the 16,000 Mars Chocolate associates around the globe, about 1,200 of them are in Hackettstown.

Mars Chocolate produces 29 candy brands in total, including the billion-dollar global brands M&M's, Snickers, Dove, Milky Way, and Twix. The Mars Chocolate North America campus is also home to the M&M's factory, where 50% of all M&M's sold in the US are made. When you walk through the front doors of the office building, giant M&M's greet you with bins of complimentary candy.

The M&M's brand was first launched in 1940. Today, the Hackettstown plant produces M&M's Milk Chocolate, M&M's Minis, and Peanut M&M's, as well as 21 different colors and custom print M&M's.

Not too surprisingly, snacks are free for associates. The office has multiple vending machines. To get a snack, you just select the item you want and it comes flying out — no cash required!

"Of course the free candy is a great perk," notes one associate. "But what makes this a truly wonderful place to work is the sense of family. Also, the culture is unlike anywhere else. People who work here often stay for a very long time — sometimes their entire career. And their kids will come work here. And then their grandkids. That says something about the company."

Between 10% to 15% of the associates who work at the Hackettstown campus are generational associates, meaning a family member preceded them at the plant or office.

During our tour, various associates commented on the "unmatched" culture, and reiterated the importance of Mars' five principals: quality, responsibility, mutuality, efficiency, and freedom to span generations, geographies, languages, and cultures.

Mars offers a volunteer program called MVP (Mars Volunteer Program). Associates are encouraged to give back on a local, national, and/or global scale. In 2015, over 2,200 Mars Chocolate associates volunteered for more than 7,000 hours.

"It's also a very collaborative environment," says an associate. "We all work together in some capacity."

"We take health and wellness seriously here," says an associate. "We think of chocolate as a treat ... something you indulge in occasionally."

M&M'S WORLD DESCRIPTION

Stepping into M&M's World is like waking up in chocolate heaven -- four floors of chocolate heaven, that is.

If you're coming in from the Strip, you'll see the attraction's charming front window display. Once you step inside this M&M's wonderland, you'll instantly feel the energy with the bright colors, upbeat music and playful M&M's memorabilia.

On the main floor, choose from a variety of charms, mugs, personalized key chains and just about every souvenir imaginable. There's also a kiosk where you can customize your own ID tag.

The rainbow wall on the second floor features 22 different M&M's colors like teal, hot pink, lime green, gray and purple -- what a treat! A few steps away, browse through a selection of candy dispensers and T-shirts. These tees poke fun with catchy logos like  "You Wanna Piece of Me?" and "Candy of the Opera."

But the fun doesn't stop here. Located on the third floor, the first-ever “My M&M’s” allows you to personalize the candies with your own custom message. You can write anything from your name to a special date or any other message that fits two lines (eight characters per line). It’s fun, easy, and only takes a couple of minutes. You can finally say this piece of chocolate has your name written all over it.

Just steps away from the "My M&M's" station, catch the digitally-remastered interactive 3-D film, "I Left My M in Vegas" in the M&M's movie theater. Enjoy a thrilling adventure with Red and Yellow as they try to reclaim Red's "M" logo he gambled away in a roulette game. Great for all ages, the free movie runs about 10 minutes long and plays throughout the day.

On the fourth and final floor, get an up-close look at an M&M's sponsored Toyota Camry race car and a bunch of NASCAR-themed M&M products like model cars and candy dispensers.

If you want to bring home some gifts, choose from a selection of stuffed M&M's dolls, alarm clocks, bathroom essentials (like shower curtains, tumbler sets and robes), apparel, M&M's Monopoly, checkers, puzzles and so much more. This trip also calls for a celebration. Buy -- and pop -- a champagne bottle filled with M&M's. These bottles look so fun and festive, you'll want to create your own occasion just so you can open it.

As you're traveling between floors by escalator, see a timeline of how the M&M's characters evolved throughout the years. These walls also showcase funny movie posters starring your favorite M&M characters.

M&M's World really brings out the kid in all of us. It's a colorful, chocolate dream you'll never want to wake up from.

Las Vegas Getaway: M&M Factory

M&M Factory Las Vegas

M&M Factory Las Vegas

The M&M Factory Las Vegas is on the South side of the Strip, and hard to miss with the big M&M character and Peanut M&M package. Good choice there M&M, because peanut M&Ms are my vice. I could eat them all day long and they always sound good. Way to lull me in!

And can you find it in the pic? See, I’m implementing a Where’s Waldo/Dora The Explorer interaction here, to make things more fun. If you’re a Dora fan, feel free to yell at your screen the location when you find it. You can also sing a song about the right side if you want to too. This is your moment.

Las Vegas M&M Factory Location

It’s such a fun place to visit. There is any product you can think of with an M&M character printed on it, we’re talking 4 floors of things! The best floor, was the floor with every color M&M you could buy by the pound. If you’re a chocolate fan, this place is heaven.

Visiting the M&M Factory Las Vegas

This was self-restraint at its finest, I did not purchase any Peanut M&Ms. I guess the holidays kept me in check reminding me I’d rather keep my insulin in check and save my sugar budget for baked goods. But boy were all those M&M Factory options tempting!

Nice! We haven't been to the M&M store yet. There is actually another (smaller) one off the strip at Ethel M Chocolate Factory (it is owned by M&M and Mars). It's a fun excursion because you can watch them make the chocolates and oh my, they all taste amazing! Plus, there is a really cool cactus garden on site. Check it out the next time you're in Vegas! Or, just make sure you purchase some Ethel M in the airport! 🙂

Things To Do At The M&M’S World Store in New York

The M & M Store NYC Location is a Great Place to Visit!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of M&M'S World . All opinions are 100% mine.

Things To Do At The M&M’S World Store in New York

Do you like M&M’S? We absolutely love M&M’S and recently decided to visit the   M&M’S World Store   in New York City. The M&M'S World Store is a fun and highly recommended family-friendly attraction in NYC and it is definitely worth adding to your vacation itinerary when visiting the Big Apple. M&M'S World also has locations in Orlando, London, Las Vegas and Shanghai, but somehow, I never realized this and never had a chance to visit when I was in those cities. Luckily, I live very close to NYC, so getting to the store is not a problem.

M&M'S World NYC is in the heart of Times Square, and it is a 25,000 square foot glass structure with three different levels of candy and other M&M'S merchandise. This location is one of the largest candy stores in NYC, and it is famous for its 50-foot wide, two-story wall made entirely of plastic tubes filled with M&M'S of all colors and flavors. Visitors can create their own color combinations of the candy, and this can be purchased by the pound.

The store also sells a wide variety of other M&M'S merchandise, including pillows, t-shirts, watches, tote bags, watches, hats, and much more.

Here is a list of things to do, besides enjoying the chocolate candies, while visiting the M&M'S World store:

Photo Booth

There’s a cool photo booth on the second floor of the store. Take a photo or two to document your visit to the M&M’S World New York store. The photo booth only costs $5 to use.

Pressed Penny Souvenirs

Looking for pressed penny machines in NYC? No worries, you’ll find a few at the M&M’S store. You can't return home from your trip without some unique souvenirs, and at the M&M'S World store, you can actually make your own pressed pennies. These awesome machines are easy for people of all ages to use, and with four of them available, you shouldn't have a difficult time finding one free when you're ready to press your pennies to show off to friends. I always love these machines because they offer an easy and inexpensive way to get some souvenirs. In fact, this souvenir will only set you back 51 cents! Not a bad deal!

Mood Analyzer

This is another great activity that you might want to check out while at the M&M'S World store. The machine analyzes your mood to determine what color M&M you are. It's a lot of fun, and everyone can enjoy having their moods analyzed so they can brag about the color M&M'S their moods are compared to. Z.E.N. was not happy with his results. The analyzer determined that he was a pink M&M and he disagreed.

Personalized gifts

The M&M’S World store in New York, Las Vegas and London have a Personalized Printer, which allows you to create customized M&M’S. In M&M’S World New York, you can even print a picture of your own face on an M&M! The process takes only a few minutes.

Z.E.N. tried it, but didn’t like the way his face looked in the previews so he decided to stick to sports icons instead.

Other M&M’S World Stores

The first M&M'S World opened in 1997 on the Las Vegas Strip, and this location is in the Showcase Mall near the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino at the south end of this famous main drag of Las Vegas. Visitors to this store will find the M&M'S gift shop on the first floor, before riding an escalator to the second level to view the movie short called “I Lost My M in Vegas.” More candy and memorabilia can be purchased on the second floor as well. Orlando's M&M'S World is located in The Florida Mall and has received awards for interior retail planning.

The first international location of the M&M'S World Store opened in London in 2011, in Leicester Square. It currently holds the record for the world's largest candy store, at a whopping 35,000 square feet.

The Shanghai store combines iconic Chinese landmarks and cultural elements with M&M’S in a colorful and fun way, making it a must-see destination in the area for both domestic and international visitors.

Each of these M&M'S world locations is a must for fans of this candy brand, and it's a great way for the whole family to pick up some M&M'S souvenirs that reflect the personality of each city.

M&M’s World New York Address

The New York store is located in the heart of Times Square at 1600 Broadway at 48th Street and is open Monday thru Sunday from 9 a.m. to Midnight.

Also located on the fourth floor are the restrooms and ATMs.

One of the most exciting parts of the M&M store is the option to create customized candies. The process uses a laser printer to print a personalized message and image on each piece of candy. The celebrated Las Vegas images include:

  • Bottle of champagne
  • plus eleven additional images to choose from

Then, after choosing your image and message, you can bring home your personalized M&Ms to share with family and friends. (Tip: This is an especially popular item for those planning a wedding)

If you have ever watched "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory," you have probably dreamed of setting foot inside a candy factory one day. Well, there are many working candy factories today in the U.S. that offer free or low-cost tours. They might not include Willy Wonka’s chocolate rivers or edible vegetation, but these factory tours can be a lot of fun.

Candy factory tours offer an exciting look at how beloved sweets are made behind the scenes, and in addition to seeing the assembly methods, visitors often learn about candy making and the history of the specific candy and candy company.

Touring a candy factory can be a great family activity since it appeals to all ages and is affordable—almost all of the tours listed below are free. (If you are a large group, it is always a good idea to call ahead to schedule a tour that can accommodate you). Best of all, candy tours often end with free samples of the merchandise, fresh off the assembly line.

Note that most of these candy factories use nuts in the process, so a tour would require special precautions for anyone with a nut allergy. Browse this listing of candy factory tours, see if there is one near you, and enjoy.

The main  Jelly Belly factory is located (appropriately enough) at One Jelly Belly Lane in Fairfield, California. The company was founded by Gustav Goelitz in 1869. As you may have guessed, jelly beans , in more than 50 flavors (including pomegranate and chili-mango) rank as its primary product. The self-guided tour is free, and it takes about 45 minutes to cover the quarter-mile area that includes interactive exhibits, films depicting the intricacies of candy making, and examples of Jelly Belly art. You can skip the line with a personal guided tour for one to six people included for a single fee, but you must make a reservation.

In Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, you can visit the Jelly Belly warehouse and distribution center. Learn how these jelly beans are made on a free, 30-minute train ride through the facility complete with whimsical decorations and jelly bean characters fun for children and all kids at heart.

Theo Chocolate is considered one of the first organic, fair-trade certified chocolate makers in North America. Around since 2006, the factory is located in a former brewery building and trolley car depot in the Fremont neighborhood of North Seattle, Washington. About 60,000 visitors tour the factory per year. Tours have an admission fee except for free tours on Fremont Third Thursday. The guided tour is about one hour long, includes chocolate samples, but children under age 5 are not permitted on the tour. For those under age 5, a weekly children's storytime tour is offered. You can also book a private tour for groups of up to 24 people, which can include young children and babies.

Boehm's Candies

Boehm's Candies has been around since 1942 when Austrian Olympian runner Julius Boehms opened his first candy shop in the Ravenna area of Seattle, Washington. He later designed, built, and relocated his shop to an authentic Swiss-style Alpine chalet in the Issaquah foothills, which reminded him of home. Tours of the Issaquah production facility and shop are available during the summer months only for a small fee per person (under age 1, free). On a 40-minute tour, you can see how their famous truffles , caramels, and nut candies are made. Outside of the summer months, if you have a group of 10 or more, you can inquire about scheduling a tour.

Carl T. Hammond, Sr., founded Hammond's Candy Company in Denver, Colorado, in 1920. You can visit the factory and watch as treats like lollipops, candy canes, and other popular Hammond's treats are pulled, twisted, shaped, and packaged by hand. The 30-minute tour is free. No reservations are required, but you can call ahead. The tour is offered every 30 minutes on the hour and on the half. Children are welcome. Wheelchairs and strollers can access the facility.

The Sweet Candy Company first opened its doors in 1892 in Portland, Oregon. In the 1900s, the company moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where it has been ever since. Sweet Candy Company remains family-owned and operated by the third, fourth, and fifth generations of the family. Their specialty is taffy , gummies, chocolate sticks, and the company produces 250 other candies. The tour is free, by appointment only, Monday through Friday. The guided tour includes fresh factory samples and educational and interactive stations.

The Cerreta Candy Company is a family-owned business founded in 1968 by Jim Cerreta, Sr., in Glendale, Arizona. He had learned the art of candy production in his father-in-law’s factory in Canton, Ohio. He then passed the skill on to his children and grandchildren. Four generations later, the business is going strong. Their signature candy is French mint chocolates followed closely by chocolate caramels and creams. The free, 30-minute guided tour is offered Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and at 1 p.m. A VIP tour package is available for a small fee.

Visit The Candy Factory in Columbia, Missouri, and observe some of the traditional candy-making processes in use since they opened their doors in 1974. The Candy Factory creates chocolate assortments of truffles and, for free, you can take a sneak peek at the process through their viewing room.

When you think Kentucky, there are likely two things that come to mind: the Kentucky Derby and bourbon whiskey. It stands without question that Rebecca Ruth Chocolates in Frankfort, Kentucky, has tipped a nod to both in its lines of chocolate samplers and liquor-filled chocolates. From its famous bourbon balls to its Triple Crown Assortment, the selections are something you can only find in Kentucky. A 20-minute tour is available for a small fee. Children under 5 are free.

Walk the glass-enclosed, suspended "catwalk" and observe nine assembly lines producing 30,000 pounds of chocolates at the Anthony-Thomas factory in Columbus, Ohio. A tour guide explains each process step-by-step from the kitchens to the final packaging on a one-hour tour. View huge copper kettles where the gooey centers of some of the candies are created and take a look at the network of silver-wrapped pipes that carry liquid chocolate throughout the factory. The tour is available for a very small fee and is free for children under age 3. The admission fee can be applied to a candy purchase. No reservations are required.

Since 1875, Sanders fine chocolates have been woven into the fabric of Michigan culture. With chains throughout the Great Lakes region, it was the regional chocolate. With its own rich history since 1919, Morley Candy Makers bought Sanders in 2002. The Sanders and Morely Candy Makers chocolate factory tour in Clinton Township, Michigan, is great for all ages and it is free. Guided tours are available by appointment only. But you can stop by any day for a free self-guided kitchen tour.

Somebody at the helm was paying attention to marketing when developing the product lines at Webb's Candy in Davenport, Florida—each product is unique. From goat's milk fudge bars to citrus jelly candies made with real citrus juices, Webb's is the real deal. To learn more about them, take a free, self-guided tour

Bianca Censori wears sheer tights as a top for another Cheesecake Factory date with Kanye West

Making the Cheesecake Factory their runway.

Bianca Censori stepped out in yet another scandalous look Wednesday while on a lunch date with husband Kanye West at the popular eaterie for the second time this week.

The couple walked arm-in-arm as they made their way inside the West Hollywood location, with the “Heartless” rapper flashing his titanium teeth as they erupted in laughter.

Despite dining at the family-friendly restaurant, the former Yeezy architect left little to the imagination, using a pair of completely sheer nude tights as a top.

Censori, who went braless underneath the low-cut garb, completed her look with micro gray Prada shorts ($825), white pointed-toe heels and a black purse.

The 29-year-old kept her short tresses slicked back and added a pop of color to her outfit with a swipe of blue eyeshadow.

The 46-year-old rapper, for his part, donned his typical baggy, all-black outfit and a pair of dark sunglasses.

Just two days prior, the pair visited the same Cheesecake Factory location inside The Grove in equally eyebrow-raising outfits.

Censori — for once — used a pair of tights for their actual purpose, wearing ultra-low-rise green leggings on her bottom half and a barely-there tan bandeau across her chest.

The fluorescent tights were pulled down low enough to see the top of the Australian beauty’s backside. West was even seen constantly readjusting the leggings, pulling them even lower as the two waited for an elevator.

West has been dressing his wife in varying X-rated looks since they tied the knot in December 2022. However, Censori’s family is reportedly fuming over the change in her wardrobe.

Earlier this month, the Daily Mail reported that Bianca’s father, Leo Censori, wanted to confront the controversial rapper over his daughter’s new “trashy” style.

“Bianca’s father, Leo, wants to have a proper sit down with Kanye and ask him what the hell he is thinking when he parades Bianca around like a trashy naked trophy pony,” a source close to Bianca told the outlet.

Leo reportedly wanted to flip the tables on West and ask how the father of four would feel if his daughters — North, 10, and Chicago, 6 — “were seen in public half-naked in outfits encouraged by their husbands.”

“He knows that there is no way in hell that Kanye would allow this for his daughters so it makes no sense why he would encourage this for his own wife,” they added.

West, who shares his children with ex Kim Kardashian, has a long history of dressing the women he dates. However, Censori has noticeably been dressed in less clothing than the others.

“No man should ever encourage the woman that he loves to walk out in public and present herself like this. That isn’t love. That is control.”

Despite her family’s concern, Censori has continued stepping out in provocative clothing , from butt-baring metallic mini nanoskirts to completely sheer catsuits with nothing underneath.
