Tanzania Safari offers private, luxury, mid-range, budget, and tailor-made safari experiences in East Africa. Explore Tanzania’s national parks and reserves at your own pace, witnessing the Serengeti, Great Migration, and Big Five. Experience luxury in handpicked accommodations, including boutique lodges and tented camps. Customize your journey with tailor-made safaris, ranging from romantic getaways to family expeditions. Tanzania Safari is committed to creating unforgettable memories and blending luxury with the untamed beauty of the African wilderness.

A safari in Tanzania can be relatively expensive for several reasons:

1. Conservation Fees: Tanzania’s national parks and wildlife reserves charge conservation fees, which contribute to the preservation of the country’s rich biodiversity. These fees can be significant, especially for popular destinations like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

2. Exclusive Accommodations: Luxury safaris often include stays in high-end lodges or tented camps, which offer premium amenities, personalized service, and prime locations for wildlife viewing. The cost of these accommodations is typically higher compared to more budget-friendly options.

3. Transportation: Safaris in Tanzania often involve flights between different destinations or long drives on rough roads to reach remote areas. The cost of transportation, whether by plane or safari vehicle, is factored into the overall price of the safari.

4. Experienced Guides and Staff: Luxury safaris prioritize the quality of the guiding experience, with highly trained and knowledgeable guides leading game drives and providing insights into the local wildlife and ecosystems. The salaries of these skilled professionals contribute to the overall cost of the safari.

5. Exclusive Experiences: Luxury safaris may offer exclusive experiences such as private game drives, guided nature walks, cultural visits to local communities, and other bespoke activities tailored to the preferences of guests. These added experiences come at an additional cost.

6. Seasonal Demand: The cost of safaris in Tanzania can vary depending on the time of year, with peak seasons (such as during the Great Wildebeest Migration) generally commanding higher prices due to increased demand.

Overall, while a safari in Tanzania may be more expensive compared to other destinations, the investment often reflects the exceptional quality of the experience, including unparalleled wildlife encounters, luxurious accommodations, and personalized service.

The cost of a safari can vary depending on various factors, including the specific itinerary, accommodations, time of year, and level of luxury. However, in general, safaris in Kenya tend to be slightly more budget-friendly compared to Tanzania for a few reasons:

1. Conservation Fees: While both Kenya and Tanzania charge conservation fees for entry into national parks and reserves, Tanzania’s fees are generally higher, especially for popular destinations like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

2. Accommodation Options: Kenya offers a wide range of accommodation options, including luxury lodges, tented camps, and budget-friendly campsites, catering to different budget levels. Tanzania also has diverse accommodation choices, but luxury options often come with a higher price tag.

3. Accessibility: Kenya’s safari destinations are more accessible from major cities and tourist hubs, which can sometimes result in lower transportation costs compared to reaching remote areas in Tanzania.

4. Seasonal Variations: The cost of safaris in both countries can fluctuate depending on the time of year and the demand for wildlife sightings. Kenya’s peak safari season, which coincides with the Great Wildebeest Migration, may offer slightly more affordable options compared to Tanzania’s peak season.

That being said, both Kenya and Tanzania offer incredible safari experiences, each with its unique attractions and wildlife. Whether you choose Kenya or Tanzania for your safari adventure, it’s essential to research and compare different safari operators, accommodations, and packages to find the best option that fits your budget and preferences.

The cost of a 10-day safari in Tanzania can vary widely depending on various factors such as the level of luxury, the specific destinations visited, the time of year, the number of people in your group, and the activities included in the itinerary.

On average, for a mid-range safari with comfortable accommodations and guided game drives, you can expect to pay anywhere from $3,000 to $7,000 per person for a 10-day safari in Tanzania.

For a luxury safari with exclusive accommodations, private guides, and additional experiences, the cost can range from $6,000 to $15,000 or more per person for the same duration.

It’s essential to consider what is included in the safari package, such as accommodation, meals, park fees, transportation, and activities, as these factors can significantly impact the overall cost. Additionally, be sure to inquire about any potential additional expenses, such as gratuities, alcoholic beverages, and optional excursions.

To get an accurate price for your specific preferences and requirements, it’s advisable to consult with multiple reputable tour operators or travel agencies specializing in safaris in Tanzania. They can provide you with detailed quotes based on your desired itinerary and budget.

The cost of a safari in Tanzania can vary greatly depending on several factors, including the level of luxury, the duration of the safari, the specific destinations visited, the time of year, and the services included in the package.

On average, for a mid-range safari with comfortable accommodations and guided game drives, you can expect to pay anywhere from $200 to $500 per person per day.

For a luxury safari with exclusive accommodations, private guides, and additional experiences, the cost can range from $500 to $1,500 or more per person per day.

These costs typically include accommodation, meals, park fees, transportation within the parks, and guided activities such as game drives and nature walks. However, it’s essential to carefully review what is included in the safari package, as some services and amenities may incur additional charges.

It’s also worth noting that some tour operators offer group discounts or special promotions, especially during the offseason. Additionally, booking well in advance or being flexible with your travel dates can sometimes help you secure better rates.

To get a precise cost estimate for your specific safari preferences and requirements, it’s recommended to reach out to reputable tour operators or travel agencies specializing in safaris in Tanzania. They can provide you with detailed quotes tailored to your budget and itinerary.

3 Day Kruger Park Umbhaba Eco Lodge Safari

The Kruger National Park is one of the world’s premier nature reserves, and you will spend a significant amount of time exploring it during this three-day safari.

Many safari operators only offer three-hour morning and afternoon drives, but the Kruger National Park is vast, and this safari is one of only few that offers a full-day safari on a three-day safari tour.

This allows clients to see more of the Kruger and different areas, as opposed to short 3-hour safaris. On such short safaris, drivers must stay close to the camps, resulting in the same areas being driven on every safari.

A full day in the Kruger National Park may sound exhausting, but the guides make frequent stops at rest stops and lookout points. As you travel through different grasslands and ecological zones, you will have a better chance of seeing more wildlife.

Your three-day itinerary will include a sunset / night safari on day 1, a full-day open vehicle safari on day 2, and a morning safari in Kruger National Park on day 3.

On 3-day safaris, your chances are very good to see all of the Big 5 – lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo.

The Kruger National Park is home to 148 mammal and 500 bird species. So there’s a lot to see and photograph.

Highlights:

  • A Sunset / Night Safari in the Kruger Park on Day 1

A Kruger National Park safari thus delivers some of the finest game viewing in the world and the right safari operator can offer visitors an experience of a lifetime.  But the park is not only popular because of its animals,  many people visit to enjoy its mountainous areas, bush plains and tropical  forests, which are all part of the unique landscape, another reason why a  safari into the Kruger always makes for the best kind of holiday.

The best time to visit the Kruger National Park on a safari, is at the beginning or end of the region’s dry season, which is between April and September. During the dry season, temperatures are mostly pleasant (with night-time temperatures that may dip below 20 degrees Celsius and daytime temperatures normally reaching into the mid-20 degrees Celsius.

As with most parks and reserves in South Africa, it is very safe to undertake a safari into and drive around Kruger. Both staff, tour operators, accommodation attendants and park authorities will make sure that you have a great safari.

Steeped in legend and history, the iconic park is one of the places in South Africa just waiting for you to explore its vast landscapes and spectacular African wildlife.

What type of safari can one book into the Kruger National Park?

When planning a first safari trip into the Kruger Park, it is advised that travellers should make use of a reputable safari tour operator that knows the park and can recommended the best safari tour options, which range from exclusive private safaris to affordable group safaris. The classic Kruger safari offers a client an authentic African safari experience, usually with excellent wildlife sightings.

Accommodation can be provided in a luxury safari lodge or opulent tented camps. Most of these types of lodges in the Greater Kruger National Park offer excellent accommodation options, with just the right ambience for romance, indulgence or just luxury escapes.

All are exquisite destinations and a Kruger Park honeymoon package are of the most sought after possible…

Without necessarily spending a fortune, you can create timeless memories on a private South African safari experience with every luxury on hand, outstanding cuisine at a range of facilities.

These midrange options, as offered by The Kruger Safari Co. make it possible to take your whole family, including children, on a safe, magical journey into nature’s wonders. The Kruger is ideal for family tours and provide options for kids of all ages, with tailored programmes and fun activities.

Accommodation can be taken up at country lodges or hotels in reserves near Kruger National Park or inside the game reserve itself. A selection of the finest luxury accommodation and lodging lets you appreciate the African wild in comfort – with extraordinary cuisine, great hospitality and magnificent wildlife experiences.  South African safari and game lodges are famous for its  super luxury facilities.

Many hotel lodgings and accommodations near the National Park are close enough for guests to participate in a full-day safari, if the lodge is not situated on a private game reserve with its own abundance or wildlife.

Kruger National Park guided safaris offers guests a traditional safari experience in the company of a skilled ranger for the best game viewing.

What is the benefit of an organized Safari over a self-drive impromptu visit to a game park?

A safari put together by your tour operator is fully usually inclusive of accommodation, game drives and some bush walks, meals and other added values. Game drives are conducted in 4×4 open safari vehicles which brings the bush experience much closer and the safaris are conducted by qualified guides who look out for spoor and signs that animals have moved through an area.

How long should a safari last and should one stay at one lodge or different  lodges?

During an average stay of between 2 and 3 nights, you may get the best experience. While a longer stay is a bonus, a short stay should ideally be no less than 2 nights.  This way you have time to enjoy the surrounds and have a  good chance to see all there is to see in the African bush.  Staying in one place maximises your game viewing and minimises  your travel time, but if you can stay more than 4 nights, splitting your stay  between two game lodges may be worthwhile.

Will children also enjoy a safari?

The Kruger National Park is the ideal destination for children of all ages and offers families a great way to spend quality time together while getting to know more about nature. While some private game lodges are more suited for children 12 years and older others often offers specialised children’s programmes and activities that keep children entertained and focus on environmental education.  Children under 6 years old are not allowed on game drives for  safety reasons and no children under 12 years old are allowed on bush walks. It  is advised to enquire from your tour operator about which options should fit  you and your family the best.

Should I be scared of Malaria?

During the rainy months (October – April) there is an increased risk of Malaria in the Kruger National Park and surrounds, but during the dry season, the risk of infection is very low.  It is always wise to take malaria prophylaxis when visiting  the area and while the malaria mosquito is more active during the night, it is  advisable to take any precautionary measures like wearing long sleeves and  rousers and sleeping under mosquito nets – which are provided by most lodges. A  mosquito net provide additional protection against other insects too.  Mosquitoes do not like cold, hence keeping air conditioning  or fans on, will also help. The risk is very low when one deals with the issue  in advance. By choosing the correct accommodation, you can minimize the chance  of being infected as well.
