Joe Bonamassa's new album Live At The Hollywood Bowl With Orchestra is out now

Blues rock whizz Joe Bonamassa has announced a UK arena tour for 2025. The five-date trek kicks off the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow on April 21, and climaxes at the Brighton Centre on April 27. Bonamassa has also announced a pair of mainland European shows in the Czech Republic and Belgium.

A pre-sale will begin tomorrow (June 26) at 10am, while tickets go on general sale at the same time this Friday from Joe's website and via Gigantic . Full dates below.

Bonamassa's US your schedule kicks off at the Freeman Arts Pavilion in Selbyville, DE, on July 17. 

In other JoBo news. the guitarist has hooked up with music retailer Reverb to release Welcome Back To Nerdville, a sequel to their 2016 mini-documentary Welcome Back To Nerdville, which finds Bonamassa's collection of vintage guitars to be even nerdier than before.

Celebrated and award-winning blues rock guitarist and singer songwriter, Joe Bonamassa in will be heading to Utilita Arena Newcastle on Saturday 13 May , as part of his UK wide 2023 tour.

The 2023 UK tour will see Bonamassa performing songs from his 15 th solo studio album “ Time Clocks, ” his Grammy Award-nominated studio album “Royal Tea,” plus classic tracks from his rich treasure trove back catalogue including the albums “Redemption”, “Blues of Desperation” and “The Ballad of John Henry”, plus many more Bonamassa fan favourites.

Blues-rock superstar Joe Bonamassa is one of the most celebrated performing musicians of today . As a t hree-time GRAMMY-nominated artist who recently achieved his 25th No. 1 album on the Billboard Blues Chart , with the studio album Time Clocks, Joe is only in his early 40s and he’s already become a living legend with an astounding multi-genre catalogue of music.

Collectively, Bonamassa has over 40 albums to date with studio and live recordings, collaborative albums with blues sensation Beth Hart and his side projects Black Country Communion and Rock Candy Funk Party

The American blues guitarist will play five dates across the UK in May next year

Joe Bonamassa has announced a UK arena tour for May 2023. Check out full dates and ticket details below.

The American blues musician and guitar legend will play five dates across the UK, opening in Bournemouth on May 9 before heading to Blackpool, Leeds and Newcastle, and rounding up in Birmingham on May 14.

The singer is set to perform songs from his 2021 album ‘Time Clocks’ and 2020’s ‘Royal Tea’.

General tickets go on sale from 9am BST on Friday September 30 and can be purchased here .

Yesterday, the blues musician posted a video of himself to social media playing his electric guitar. “Life sometimes ebbs and flows,” he wrote. “This is honestly the third time I have picked up the guitar in almost three weeks.

“Social media is not reality and sometimes even the most seemingly passionate people need a break from something they are seemingly passionate about. I am no different.”

In August this year, the blues musician described the memorable experience of jamming with Eric Clapton on stage at the Royal Albert Hall in 2009 as “insane”.

“I was shocked to find out that he knew who I was,” he said in a Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall Of Fame interview in August.

Bonamassa returned for a performance at the Royal Albert Hall in May of this year, exactly 13 years after he performed at the iconic London venue for the first time.

Last year, the guitarist also opened up about the reality of recording his album ‘Time Clocks’ during the pandemic.

“We found ourselves at Germano Studios, cutting music as a trio (but not trio music) and having to invent ways of making records when your lifelong producer is stuck in Australia due to travel restrictions,” he said in a statement (via Guitar.com ).

“Kevin Shirley came up with a way of linking continents and consoles to where we had literally zero latency. Add Steve Mackey and Anton Fig to the mix, a few masks and curse words and we have the ‘New York Record’, AKA ‘Time Clocks’.”

For all car journeys it's best to follow the white on brown tourist route signs for the Waterfront. These signs are visible on the major routes into the city. Exhibition Centre Liverpool is situated on the Kings Dock directly adjacent to the south side of the Albert Dock. Upon arrival, the Kings Dock entrance is clearly sign posted.

From the North...

Leave the M6 at junction 26 and follow signs for M58 Liverpool. Follow to end of M58 and then take signs for A59 Liverpool. Continue to follow Liverpool City Centre until picking up signs for the Waterfront. 

From the South...

Leave the M6 at junction 21A and take the M62 to Liverpool. At the end of the M62 follow signs for Liverpool City Centre along Edge Lane, picking up and following signs for Waterfront. 

From the south...

Avanti West Coast operates hourly, direct services from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street (with a journey time of just over two hours). Other long-distance rail services also operate into Liverpool Lime Street station.

M&S Bank Arena is a 20-minute walk from Lime Street or a short taxi ride. You can also transfer at Lime Street onto the underground Wirral Line trains to James Street station (10 minute walk) or catch the CityLink Route C4 (7am – 8pm) directly to the venue. If travelling from outside Merseyside, you can catch an underground train to James Street station from Lime Street station, inclusive of the cost of your train ticket.

Flying into Liverpool John Lennon Airport...

A taxi from the airport to the city centre will take approximately 20 minutes or the express bus service Route 500 will take approximately 25 minutes, dropping you off within a five minute walk of M&S Bank Arena, while Manchester’s international airport is just 45 minutes away by car.

Celebrated and award-winning blues rock guitarist and singer songwriter, Joe Bonamassa in association with J&R Adventures and N&P Touring is pleased to announce UK concerts in April 2025.

Backed by a stellar band of legendary musicians, the set list for this show will feature new songs alongside career-spanning favourites. By exceeding his own vertiginously high artistic goals, Bonamassa has shattered all expectations with 27 #1 Billboard Blues Albums (more than any other artist in history). Bonamassa’s career in the music industry has built steadily over the years and continues to gain momentum.

Bonamassa has toured the world many times, and is without a doubt, one of the biggest blues guitarists, vocalists, and entertainers around. He recently supported The Rolling Stones at Lumen Field Stadium in Seattle and received a standing ovation from excited Stones fans.

Wonderful time last night ! All hard working people That were there to entertain the people that spent hard earned money to be there , they all , the band that is , knew this and showed their appreciation by putting on a splendid display of their god given talent , they proved to everyone there last night that they honed this talent . At the end of the show Mr Bonamassa took time at his bus , took selfies and chatted with a handful of fans , we spoke with other band members and found them all down to earth and very approachable. I first had the privilege 15-17 yrs ago of seeing Joe in Santa Cruz , Calif. last night it had been 7 times at his concerts 6 times here in Scotland , I will be seeing him again and again !

I've seen Joe about five times now and this was well below his usual standard.

He played very few of his older numbers and left most of the audience bewildered and very disappointed. he seemed to be promoting his new album that isn't even coming out until September this year. By then most of us will have forgotten what it sounds like. However, it seems Joe is leaving his Blues music behind and going more rock. This, for me, is a no no!! if this is the road he is going down then I wont be buying his albums in the future and will certainly not spend the money going to see him. The couple sat next to us early as they were so disappointed.

To summarise: very disappointing concert. No one was singing along as on one knew the songs he was playing.

An OK show, but not worth the 2.5hr hassle of getting there and back (or the £100/ticket)! Only played two of the numbers I knew, the rest was new stuff. Why do these people assume we want new stuff? We don't, we want to hear live the songs we've become fond of over the years. Excellent musicians when playing together, but too much 'look what I can do' solos, which actually weren't that great. Love Blues of Desperation album and know it intimately, was hoping to hear more of it live. Sorry, won't be rushing to book tickets next time as I did this.

LIVE REVIEW: Joe Bonamassa in Blackpool

I don’t know if it’s the doughnuts or a stick of Blackpool rock, but whatever it is Joe Bonamassa can’t keep away from Blackpool. From his first visit in 2006 for his second ever UK show, he has been back many times. This is Joe’s fourth visit to the Magical Opera House and the perfect venue for the incredible artist that Joe is and with him his talented band.

As Joe hit the stage with ‘Evil Mama’ from his ‘Redemption’ album, you just knew this was going to be an epic night. Joe was heavy with his trusty Les Paul, cranking it up through a multitude of amps on the stage, accompanied by some awesome Hammond playing from Reese Wynans on this one. The band rocked, with a big shout out to his two fabulous backing singers. Strapping on his Gibson 355 Joe slid into one cool version of ‘Dust Bowl’… wow the band are as tight as tonight! And what soul there is in Joe’s fingers, as he weaves his magic on the fretboard. Lemar Carter on drums was on fire, driving the band with that grove… sublime.

Strat time and we have the wonderful ‘Love Ain’t a Love Song’ from ‘Different Shades of Blue’, with some tasty delicate playing and soulful backing singing. ‘Self Inflicted Wounds’, again from ‘Redemption’ was majestic and beautiful with Joe weaving his way through this one, accompanied by the backing singers, once again perfectly complimenting the song. Some incredible vocals here. ‘Breaking Up Someone’s Home’ from ‘Live at the Greek’ is next and the Gibson 355 looks and sounds so right on this one. Next is the Coco Montoya song ‘I Wanna Shout About It’, with an audience sing along. Strapping on the big red 355 again, Joe channels his inner Otis Rush on the excellent ‘Double Trouble’… you could hear a pin drop as he turns it down. Joe sure can play the blues.

The frantic ‘I Didn’t Think She Could Do It’ from the excellent ‘Royal Tea’ album. The haunting beauty that is ‘Happier Times’ – a Gibson SG never sounded so sweet. ‘Lonely Boy’ sees Joe strap on the Telecaster but it’s Josh Smith letting rip on his Ibanez Tele that steals the thunder on this one and as Joe says of Josh, “he is the best guitarist on the stage tonight.”

Some honky-tonk piano from Reece before Joe let’s the telecaster rip, Wow wow wow is all I can say as, a quick Hammond fury allows Joe just enough time to swap the Telecaster for the Flying V finishing the song and going straight into the ZZ Top classic ‘Just Got Paid Today’. Boy, Joe is in overdrive now, the Flying V perfect for the chunky riff, Joe struts every inch of the Opera House stage with an understated air of confidence slaying all before with his axe.

Joe’s inner Page comes out as he uses his Theremin dipping into a bit of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Dazed and Confused’ before it’s all over. But Joe and the band quickly return to the stage to great delight and we are given the most amazing version of the sublime ‘Mountain Time’, nearly 15 minutes of pure bliss – a telecaster has never sounded so good. Joe’s guitar playing is smooth like honey and as in the words of ‘Mountain Time’, “it takes me somewhere and it’s good to be there” which leaves me feeling truly satisfied.

When you have such a vast back catalogue of songs to chose from, the thirteen songs Joe played almost feels like you have been short changed. Like when you get a bag of donuts and there are only a few in there, but when you taste one you realise that these are the best god damn donuts you have ever tasted. And that was tonight – Joe didn’t play all my favourites but the 2 hour 20 minute set was sublime. The best god damn show I have seen him play and I have seen a few going back to 2007. If you haven’t got a ticket for a show on this tour, then get one and that’s an order! You won’t be disappointed.
