When Do Kerry Washington Tickets Go On Sale?
Tickets for Kerry Washington go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 23rd at 10am local time.
Fans can also access an artist presale that opens on Wednesday, June 21st at 10am local time.
A VIP Meet & Greet presale will also begin on Wednesday, June 21st at 10am local time. Get the Kerry Washington presale code and presale time below.
What Is The Kerry Washington Presale Code?
Fans can access Kerry Washington book tour tickets early through an artist presale.
Artist Presale
The artist presale starts Wednesday, June 21st at 10am local time through Thursday, June 22nd at 10pm.
First, you should select your preferred Kerry Washington tour date and bookmark the page for easy access later on. Information regarding access to the artist presale has yet to be officially announced, though we recommend texting the phone number located in Washington’s Instagram bio and signing up.
VIP Meet & Greet Presale
There will also be a VIP Meet & Greet presale that opens Wednesday, June 21st at 10am local time and ends Thursday, June 22nd at 10pm. We recommend bookmarking your desired tour date and following the same steps as the artist presale, text and sign-up via the phone number in Washington’s Instagram bio to potentially receive more information on presale access.
Pro Tips When Buying Your Tickets
First, on the day of the presale or general onsale (whichever you prefer), login to your Ticketmaster account ( go to my account or sign in located on the upper right corner of the page ) at least 15 minutes ahead of the sale time. If you don’t have one, create one now .
Be sure to add your billing info (aka credit card info) before jumping into the digital queue for a quick check-out. Once the presale starts, remain in the digital queue. Only use one browser window because using multiple browsers or devices and multiple accounts with the same phone number can result in errors. Trust, it’s happened to us before! Don’t refresh your page, do be patient, don’t leave your page, do get those tickets!
What To Do If Tickets Are Sold Out?
If tickets sell out, your other option is to buy them via online resellers like VividSeats or StubHub. When all else fails, we prefer these resell options because both offer a 100% Guarantee. You can also purchase resell tickets through Ticketmaster’s resell program. Just search for the concert or event you want to attend , and see if they have any resell tickets available. We recommend you compare the three options and find out which works best for you.
Alternatively, you can hit it old school style and show up at the concert when the box office opens and wish upon a star that they release more tickets, or hopefully, another concert-goer has an extra ticket to sell at face-value or even giveaway for free. Trust, this happens more often than not! We’ve given away many tickets to sold-out shows simply because our +1 couldn’t make it.
Also, more standard tickets are often released via Ticketmaster 1-3 days leading up to the show date. We’ve seen it with Beyonce , Taylor Swift , Arctic Monkeys and many more! It’s a secret gatekeeped by many, but if you’re reading this, now you know! So be sure to set your calendar notifications!

Award-winning actor, director, producer, and activist Kerry Washington shares the deeply moving journey of her life so far and the bravely intimate story of discovering her truth.
The Tabernacle and A Cappella Books proudly present the author for a live discussion of her new memoir, " Thicker Than Water ," on Saturday, September 30th at 3 PM.
PRESALE STARTS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21. USE THE CODE "KERRY" TO PURCHASE.

About the Book
While on a drive in Los Angeles, on a seemingly average afternoon, Kerry Washington received a text message that would send her on a life-changing journey of self-discovery. In an instant, her very identity was torn apart, with everything she thought she knew about herself thrown into question.
In "Thicker than Water," Washington gives readers an intimate view into both her public and private worlds—as an artist, an advocate, an entrepreneur, a mother, a daughter, a wife, a Black woman. Chronicling her upbringing and life's journey thus far, she reveals how she faced a series of challenges and setbacks, effectively hid childhood traumas, met extraordinary mentors, managed to grow her career, and crossed the threshold into stardom and political advocacy, ultimately discovering her truest self and, with it, a deeper sense of belonging.
Throughout this profoundly moving and beautifully written memoir, Washington attempts to answer the questions so many have struggled with: Who am I? What is my truest and most authentic self? How do I find a deeper sense of connection and belonging? With grace and honesty, she inspires readers to search for—and find—themselves.

Kerry Washington’s Latest Press Tour Looks Are Full Of Fall Boot Inspiration
She’s promoting her memoir, Thicker Than Water .
In Hollywood, press tours give your favorite celebrities a chance to show off their style while promoting their latest projects. Sometimes, it’s a one day event with multiple outfit changes — like when Gigi Hadid wore 8 looks in just 24 hours to promote Next In Fashion . Other times, though, the media circuit festivities will span several days , across several countries, which demands a more intense wardrobe lineup. This week, all eyes were on Kerry Washington and what she wore as she celebrated the launch of her memoir Thicker Than Water . Washington’s press tour looks, thus far, have been polished and colorful, offering a bit of cheerfulness to the rainy gloom of New York City (as of this Tuesday, it’s been pouring for four days straight here).
One of our favorite looks from the star come on September 25, when the Scandal actor popped up Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in a reddish-brown knit sweater and asymmetrical skirt set with blue suede boots. The unexpected burst of cerulean provided by her footwear made them the star of the show, while the star’s red braided bag and matching lipstick played supporting characters. She accessorized the striking combination with a medley of jewelry from Marlo Laz, a fine jewelry brand founded by Jesse Marlo Lazowski in 2014.
In addition to her chestnut brown set, Washington wore two other looks on Sept. 25 while promoting her new book. The actor dropped by the Today show while wearing a turquoise-hued top, an orange floral print skirt, and gray Manolo Blahnik suede knee-high boots . She then accented this look with jewelry from labels like Rainbow K, Yvonne Léon, and Grace Lee.
Though two out of her three looks were on the more colorful side, Washington did tap into the white dress tren d with a ruffled creation while on her way to Good Morning America . Wearing white was a daring move on her part (the rain! puddles! NYC grime!), but she seemed to pay no mind as she even took the subway instead of a car. The actor passed out copies of her book to unsuspecting passengers on the F train line, stopping to chat and pose with fans for photos.

Not only did this surprise fan interaction make us appreciate Washington even more, but as we head into fall, we’ll definitely take some wardrobe notes from her too. For our next rainy day attire, we will rock knee-high boots with a dress or knitted set for that pulled-together look.
Still, a word to the wise: if you’re commuting to work via the train, perhaps swap your suede shoes for a water-resistance leather option instead.

Kerry Washington: a woman of purpose
Following the publication of her New York Times -bestselling memoir Thicker Than Water , the award-winning actress, producer and activist speaks to Harper’s Bazaar UK about getting into character, finding fulfilment behind the camera and what motivates her political involvement
The first three words of the US Constitution hold a special place in Kerry Washington’s heart. She recognises that, when the Founding Fathers wrote “We the People” in 1787, the “People” they were referring to would not have been Black women like her, and yet this declaration of intent is the foundation upon which her career is based. Through her art and activism, she has strived to expand the phrase’s originally narrow definition. “It’s our role as artists to open up people’s hearts and minds,” she tells me. “I do think there is a connection between art and human rights.”
The actress’ choice of projects certainly bears this out, with their explorations of racism ( Django Unchained ), state-sanctioned violence ( American Son ), LGBTQ+ discrimination ( The Prom ) and the prison-industrial complex ( UnPrisoned ), alongside other hard-hitting socio-political themes. Even Washington’s first television appearance aged 14 in 1992, when she performed a monologue about AIDS in a primetime sexual-health special, anticipates her later impulse to use her onscreen platform to champion meaningful causes. However, despite delighting in “grappling with the great issues of humanity” in her work, Washington has been reticent to let audiences see her own. For someone who loves the phrase “We the People”, she has been deliberately opaque about Kerry the Person. As is her right, Washington has fastidiously protected her privacy, going so far as to pin her engagement ring inside her clothing and to put her brand-new Hollywood Hills home on the market without ever moving in after realising that it was not paparazzi-proof.

Most of the headlines about Thicker Than Water have focused on the paternity confession – something that’s dangled in the prologue, then resolved about 250 pages later – but more interesting is how she shows us the seeds that allowed her to grow into the civic-minded, politically active woman she is today. We read about seven-year-old Kerry learning the importance of education while sitting in the back of her professor mother’s lecture hall, hand raised, hoping to be called upon; and about 14-year-old Kerry understanding the justice system’s bias against African American men when her father is investigated by the IRS. Formative childhood experiences like these made Washington want to play an active role in social justice and community building because, as she frequently states, “democracy is not a spectator sport”. “It’s how I was raised,” she says. “I want to help people understand that politics isn’t an abstract idea that belongs in the hands of a few privileged folks. Politics is everything. It’s our lives, it’s how we eat, it’s how we breathe, it’s where we live, it’s what we wear, it’s what we say and what we read, it’s how our kids go to school and whether or not we have access to adequate healthcare. It’s not a theoretical framework.”
While plenty of public figures support causes they believe in, more often than not they’ll slap their name on a foundation or a college fund and leave it at that. Washington really does the work – and isn’t expecting any praise for it, either. “I don’t think a lot about giving myself credit or having pride about this area of what I do,” she says. “It’s more about service than anything else.” Washington preached Barack Obama’s “Yes we can!” gospel across 16 states during his 2007 presidential campaign, “knocking on doors, going to barber shops or universities or churches, and really encouraging communities not only to vote for Obama, but to vote for themselves and for the issues and values that they cared about”. Once he was elected, she served on the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (a position she still holds under the current administration), where she worked on a programme to further arts education and lobbied Congress for financial aid. In 2012, she stood, poised and unruffled, in a North Carolina arena and delivered a rousing speech on making each vote count at the Democratic National Convention to thunderous applause; and in 2020, she returned to the DNC, 10 feet apart from the crew under strict Covid protocols, to stump for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. “It was wild, but it also felt really important to figure out how to still show up,” she says.
"I want to help people understand that politics isn’t an abstract idea that belongs in the hands of a few privileged folks"
It’s no surprise, therefore, that she has thrown her weight behind the SAG-AFTRA strike , which began in July when the multibillion-dollar studios refused to increase minimum-pay rates and protect actors against AI, among other things. During a solidarity rally, more than a month into the labour stoppage, Washington took to the podium in front of Disney – the media conglomerate that bankrolled Scandal , the TV show that made her a star, and with which her production company has an overall deal – and shouted: “It’s not OK for other people to benefit from our hard work and sweat! It’s not OK for other people to benefit when we put our vulnerability and our hearts on the line!” She has been on the strike picket lines, memorably brandishing a placard reading ‘Guild Vs Evil’ and is spreading the word on social media. “It’s an important moment. I want to be of service to my union,” she says. “It’s always great to be in community with people who are fighting for the greater good. There’s so much joy that comes out of it.”
The SAG-AFTRA strike is, of course, why Washington and I cannot discuss any of her film and television roles during our conversation. The most famous of these is her Scandal character Olivia Pope, the reputation-massaging political-crisis manager who has been immortalised in everything from Megan Thee Stallion lyrics to a 42-piece workwear collection. Shonda Rhimes ’ soapy melodrama, which aired from 2012 to 2018 and proved groundbreaking in its depiction of a complicated Black antiheroine, marries Washington’s twin interests in White House goings-on and portraying real people (Pope is inspired by the DC fixer Judy Smith, who counts Monica Lewinsky as a client). To play the character, she read up on Supreme Court machinations and spoke regularly with Smith on the phone. “Anthropological work is required for me to build a character that’s as real as possible,” she says of her acting philosophy. “The research is much more solid and tangible when playing real people. There is a practice in acting of stepping into someone else’s shoes, someone else’s story, someone else’s life that necessitates a certain amount of compassion and empathy.”
The show transformed the TV landscape – we’ll never know whether the similarly messy-Black-woman-led series How to Get Away with Murder would have been greenlit without Scandal ’s success, but I doubt it – and its legacy is still felt today. It was Washington who ushered in the trend of live-tweeting instant reactions as an episode unfolds, which the Scandal cast gamely agreed to do with her. As she writes in Thicker Than Water , executives “were unconvinced that audiences would tune in” and deemed the series “an enormous financial risk”. Online, Washington recruited an army of dedicated fans and, in January 2013, each episode was generating 132,000 tweets. (In typical pedagogical fashion, Washington was known to point out cultural references viewers might have missed.) She had made Scandal appointment viewing, and it was picked up for a second season. This experience has informed how Washington uses social media today. “I have a team now and we continue to work to be innovative and expansive,” she says. “We try to strategise and execute based on values and the things that we care about, not just metrics.”
"Everybody deserves to be the hero in the story of their lives"
Fittingly, the last image we see of Olivia Pope on Scandal is her picture hanging in Washington DC’s National Portrait Gallery, emblazoned with the words “We the People” (what else?). Although the series was chiefly renowned for its frothy sexcapades and head-spinning plot twists, it had a decidedly bleak view of government institutions, painting a just-fictional-enough world hampered by festering corruption. Washington’s first project with her production company Simpson Street – 2016’s sobering docudrama Confirmation detailing Anita Hill’s 1991 sexual-harassment claim against the Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas – further demonstrated the actress’ passion for telling complex, politically driven stories. This also extends to the firm’s propulsive 2020 documentary The Fight , to which Washington secured the rights after watching coverage of the Muslim ban on the news, wherein four American Civil Liberties Union lawyers file humanitarian cases against the Trump administration. “We really believe that everybody deserves to be the hero in the story of their lives and that our heroes should look like everybody,” she says. “Producing gives me a seat at the proverbial table. It allows me to not just sit at home waiting to be invited to the party, but to throw my own parties and then to be able to impact what those parties look and feel like, and what the ground rules are. That’s important to me to have some sense of agency.”
Putting herself and her voice out there hasn’t come without its challenges: Washington received death threats after making her first political speech at the Democratic National Convention. In the face of such resistance, how does she find the strength to keep going? “Some of it is selfish because, for me, I find that when I’m in despair about the state of the world – and the attacks on human rights, equity and justice – plugging into activism and community helps to alleviate that despair. It helps me to feel like I’m part of the solution. Taking action is what helps me cultivate hope.” With Washington leading the way, there is hope for us all.

Kerry Washington Posted A Video Of Her Reuniting With Tony Goldwyn, And Everyone's Reactions Are Perfectly Spot-On
Someone said Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn's chemistry is their Roman Empire, and I'm starting to think it might be mine, too.
BuzzFeed Staff
It's safe to say that there are a ton of TV and movie actors who just have incredible chemistry . In fact, I've written several posts in the past about the BEST TV chemistry.
And, without fail, every single time we have the "who has the best onscreen chemistry" conversation , there are two people who pop up: Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn .
LIKE, THIS IS FROM THE VERY FIRST EPISODE?!!!
Of course, Kerry and Tony starred together as Olivia Pope and President Fitz on Shonda Rhimes's hit series Scandal , which ran from 2012 to 2018.
Over the course of its seven-season run , Scandal gifted us with one of the best love squares (?) between Olivia, Fitz, Mellie (Bellamy Young), and Jake (Scott Foley). But, let's face it, at the end of the day, it was always going to be Olivia and Fitz.
I mean, c'mon, they had VERMONT, people.
While the show ended five years ago, the entire cast has stayed close friends, often reuniting whenever they can:

Anyway, this takes us to yesterday when Kerry and Tony reunited during Kerry's current book tour for her memoir Thicker Than Water , which is described as "an intimate view into both her public and private worlds — as an artist, an advocate, an entrepreneur, a mother, a daughter, a wife, a Black woman."
Tony moderated a discussion in Washington, DC — yes, they knew exactly what they were doing — and before the event, Kerry shared a video of her walking to Tony's dressing room set to THE Olivia and Fitz music from Scandal .
The way kerry walks down the hallway and then the way tony says, "hi.".
And don't even get me STARTED on the way they look at each other in the doorway. I am over here giggling and kicking my feet.
Scott even had a perfect reply in the Instagram comments, LOL:
Okay, and then at the event, Tony apparently printed out his favorite quotes from Kerry's book to share with her and I just—

Kerry also posted a series of photos, and based on the chemistry radiating off of them, I apparently would have no objections if they ever rebooted Scandal .
And i'm not the only one; everyone — and i mean everyone — who watched even a single second of scandal was floored by kerry and tony's chemistry once again:.
If you love what you read, give your favorite tweets a like and the users a follow so you can make your timeline a more fun place to be.

The music. The chemistry. Why hasn’t anyone recast them in a proper rom-com. Where they meet in Vermont and imagine a life where they worked in politics. https://t.co/KgjWLqXz8u — Tee 🇯🇲 (@positiviTeee) September 28, 2023

And the people in Kerry's comments on both Instagram and TikTok were all thinking the same thing, too:
Basically, Kerry and Tony have the most amazing chemistry and, in conclusion, this 100% applies to them:
in MY personal opinion if two actors have good chemistry there’s no problem with casting them in 3 more movies together — liya (@mondlerina) August 20, 2023

Kerry Washington Reflects on the Impact of Her Sexual Assault on Her Life: 'I Was Gaslit'
The actress revealed that she was sexually assaulted in her memoir 'Thicker Than Water,' released in September 2023

Kerry Washington is reflecting on how her sexual assault has impacted her life.
The Scandal star, 47, talked about the assault while speaking about her September 2023 memoir, Thicker Than Water , at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 20.
When asked about how the abuse has shaped the person she is, Washington told Erika D. Smith that it was one of the early instances in her life when someone denied the truth to her and made her doubt her intuition.
Thicker Than Water retells Washington's journey of self-discovery, centering on the fact that she learned that her dad, Earl Washington, wasn't her biological father in the spring of 2018 when she was about 41 years old.

At Saturday's event, she told Smith that she revealed she was sexually assaulted in the book because it was an example of the truth being withheld from her, which made it difficult for her to find the essence of who she was.
"The version of the story that I want to tell is the version of figuring out the truth of who I am and what were the obstacles that got in the way of me being able to know my truth and experience my truth," Kerry said.
"And one of those things was that I had survived this sexual assault that was happening at night," she continued. "And why it was relevant to the story is because of the ways that I was gaslit that I didn't know that something, I didn't know what was happening at night, but I knew that something was happening."
Kerry didn't reveal the identity of her alleged abuser in the book, but she said the assaults happened during sleepovers that she attended as a child in the Bronx. One of the boys in her neighborhood would allegedly touch her and then denied it.

"When I approached the person who was doing it, he told me that it was in my imagination and that I didn't know what I was talking about and that I was crazy," she said at the USC event.
"And that became a framework that I found myself fighting against a lot of my life, that if I had an instinctive thought about something, an intuitive idea about something, there was another thread of messaging in my brain that said, 'You're crazy. You don't know what you're talking about. That's not really true.' "
"And so that's what I feel like I've spent a lot of my life trying to beat back — the messaging that I don't know my own truth," Kerry added.
"He was not a pedophile," the Little Fires Everywhere star wrote in her book of the boy who lied to her.
"The truth remains that there were things done to me — while I was sleeping, and without my consent — but the perpetrator was a child himself. It is partly my compassion for him that has kept these incidents a secret, locked in the vault of my mind."

Similar to her parents withholding the truth of her DNA from her, the actress said she never told them about her experiences at the sleepovers.
At the Festival of Books, Kerry said that by telling her the truth about her biology, her parents gave her the gift of being able to trust herself again because she always had a sense of "some kind of secret being kept" in her home.
"When they gave me this truth about my genetics, one of the things they gave me was truly a pathway back to myself, a pathway back to trusting myself and being able to trust my own intuitive knowing and value the messages in my brain as truth and not crazy," she explained.

Kerry Washington says she’s adamant about living and sharing her truth. However, during the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books in Los Angeles on Saturday, the star revealed that her candor stemmed from her experience surviving a sexual assault.
Within her bestselling 2023 memoir “ Thicker Than Water ,” Washington opened up about her life experiences and journey to self-discovery. In addition to sharing moments like finding out her father, Earl Washington, was not her biological father, the “Scandal” star revealed she was sexually assaulted during childhood and reflected on how that experience shaped her perspective in the book.
“The version of the story that I want to tell is the version of figuring out the truth of who I am and what were the obstacles that got in the way of me being able to know my truth and experience my truth,” Washington said, per People magazine. “And one of those things was that I had survived this sexual assault that was happening at night.”

In Washington’s recounting, she reveals that the assaults occurred during childhood sleepovers. Without identifying her alleged abuser, Washington explains that the person was not a pedophile but another child from her neighborhood who touched her inappropriately and without her consent while she was sleeping.
“And why it was relevant to the story is because of the ways that I was gaslit that I didn’t know that something, I didn’t know what was happening at night, but I knew that something was happening,” she explained. “When I approached the person who was doing it, he told me that it was in my imagination and that I didn’t know what I was talking about, and that I was crazy.”
Admitting that her compassion for her alleged abuser played a part in her long keeping the incidents a secret, Washington’s unreported assault is a common occurrence in the United States. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics , only 310 out of every 1,000 sexual assaults are reported to the police, meaning two-thirds of sexual assault incidents go unreported. Similarly, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center found that only 12% of sexual abuse cases with children are reported to authorities.
In addition to being one of the most unreported crimes, experts have found victims of sexual trauma can experience lingering effects. In Washington’s experience, the gaslighting she experienced when confronting her abuser impacted her journey into adulthood.
“And that became a framework that I found myself fighting against a lot of my life, that if I had an instinctive thought about something, an intuitive idea about something, there was another thread of messaging in my brain that said, ‘You’re crazy. You don’t know what you’re talking about. That’s not really true.’ So that’s what I feel like I’ve spent a lot of my life trying to beat back — the messaging that I don’t know my own truth,”
