Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver Review (Our Honest Feedback)

With a clean, muscular build, the Tour Edge Exotics e722 offers amateurs an exciting driver that lifts ball speeds, boosts forgiveness, and dramatically improves shot dispersion.

In our Tour Edge Exotics e722 driver review, we’ll break down why this golf club is our choice for the best driver for high handicappers looking for more distance.

Tour Edge E722 Driver Key Features

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver diamond face

Ridgeback Technology

Tour Edge’s spine, powered by the Ridgeback Tech, stabilizes the entire carbon fiber crown. Along with the internal sound enhancing ribs, the Ridgeback Tech works to create more power for the golf ball for more distance.

Diamond Face VFT Technology

With seven different thicknesses across the hitting area, the VFT utilizes mini trampolines placed in an interweaving pattern across the face to increase flexibility, generating more ball speed, reducing vibration, and boosting forgiveness.

Tour Edge’s patented face contouring also minimizes side spin for straighter drives without losing power.

30-Gram Back Weight

Located along the extreme trailing edge of the sole, the 30-gram weight stabilizes the entire face for high MOI. They stabilize the face by reducing twisting and assist in creating a tighter shot dispersion .

The weight also deepens the CG location to a lower area to help amateurs generate a higher launch angle and extended carry.

  • Adjustable hosel raises or lowers loft by two degrees
  • Forgiving driver on strikes from the toe section
  • Oversized head delivers power to golf ball
  • Heavier feel with 30-gram rear weight

Our In-Depth Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver Review

Could the Tour Edge e722 driver look better? Yes, it could. But when it comes to what we’ve gotten in the past from Tour Edge, the e722 definitely represents an improvement on past models from the company.

We loved the look of the carbon fiber crown at the address. The company’s designers have given the crown a contrasting t-shape that offers a clear and helpful designated center area for lining up the drive.

With the e722, the company is moving its e-series of #1 woods into a more modern style, something we noted with approval during their time with these Tour Edge drivers.

The Exotics e722 driver delivers clean sound that pleased us on the range and the tee box.

Even for our hardest swingers, the e722 performed beautifully when it came to sound. The driver didn’t pop or crunch in that annoying way that lesser drivers can sometimes show on the tee box.

Instead, the e722 offers a crisp sound that lets you know immediately if you’ve struck the drive on the center of the face.

We really enjoyed the feel and immediate feedback provided by the e722.

For a golf club priced at around $400, you certainly would expect premium responsiveness and we’re happy to report the e722 certainly delivered on the golf course.

The sole plate rail connects the face to the club’s rear, stabilizing the entire head for a better feel and responsiveness.

The rail holds the heavier weight in place to increase MOI, helping golfers swing harder without worrying about being penalized with side spin.

The company offers a Fujikura Air Speeder shaft upgrade that can also increase feel, especially in junior and senior golfers. With four total shafts to choose from, the Tour Edge e722 driver offers more variability helping you find the right shaft.

Choosing the shaft that best fits your game gives you better control over the club’s feel.

Performance

On the tee box, we loved the look of the club at address, and we’re very pleased with how it performed in all aspects of the swing.

Not only did these drivers offer power but the shot dispersion stayed compact, providing reliability and dependable consistency that instills confidence, especially in high handicappers .

When we compared the e722 to other drivers from the company, we were quite impressed by the higher MOI offered by this Tour Edge model.

Even if you make a bad swing, the MOI works incredibly hard to keep the face square through the impact zone to minimize side spin and help your drivers find the fairway.

Overall, the Tour Edge e722 driver provided more forgiveness than we expected, an excellent thing for high handicappers looking to reach more fairways during their round.

Tour Edge E722 Driver vs. Ping G425 Max Driver

Ping G425 Max Driver

When comparing the G425 Max to the e722, the first difference you’ll notice is how the Ping driver feels in your hands.

Immediately, you can feel the craftsmanship of the G425. With terrific balance, the G425 Max creates impressive, effortless power.

Along the back of the head, the G425 Max offers adjustable weighting for immediate swing bias. If you are fighting a slice, the club can easily switch to a draw bias to help you reach the fairway more regularly.

Another stark difference between the two clubs comes with the crown of each club. The Ping G425 Max has a flared crown that looks intimidating, almost as if it was built for creating long drives.

Easily the best all-around driver on the market for high handicappers, the Ping G425 Max offers premium ball control with power to burn.

Our Verdict

While Tour Edge might not have the full attention of the golfing world, they’ve built a stellar reputation for producing solidly well-built golf clubs that won’t kill your wallet.

The e722 Driver from the Tour Edge Exotics line is another welcome addition to the company’s stable, producing high ball speed, maximum forgiveness on off-center hits, and a patented Carbon Wrap Tech that generates staggering swing speed.

With an inviting sweet spot, high handicappers or even a senior golfer can find a higher launch across the entire face.

Made for golfers with any swing speed, the Tour Edge Exotics e722 driver is well worth a look, and you should definitely check it out.

Thanks again for the opportunity. I am really looking forward to testing and reviewing.

I'm just going to add on to this post, seeing as its the only response as of now.  As I was sitting at my computer, my dogs bark and I see a UPS truck back up.  Just as the driver hands me the box, the heavens open up and it begins to rain, so no range session today (but I'm not complaining, we REALLY need the rain).

The first thing I noticed about the Tour Edge Exotics E722 was the glossy finish on the crown.  On my current driver, PXG 0811x Gen 2, it has a matte finish which I prefer.  I am assuming some of the shine will fade away, but as of now, I could almost use it to pull nose hairs.

The head is more elongated than my current driver, which doesn't bother me (I hope it helps me).  Moving to the sole, it has the one weight in the back and the adapter screw (is that what its called) and everything is pretty smooth.  Not a lot to pick mud out of, it it would ever become necessary.  Color scheme is red/white/black.  I prefer a two-tone scheme, but it doesn't look bad at all (plus, no one looks at the sole much anyways).

Other notes:  I ordered the driver with a heavier shaft than my current driver and it feels a lot more stable.  Also, the rain let up for a few minutes and I couldn't help myself.  I teed up a old junk ball and sent it flying into the woods with a slight fade.  I don't want to draw any conclusions about how it preforms off of one swing, but I can say the feel was amazing.  For anyone who has played baseball and has hit a homerun and you know it off the bat, it felt like that (one swing I know, but it did feel good).  Sound.  The sound was very different from the PXG.  PXG has more of a muted crack sound, the Tour Edge Exotics E722 has a louder clank sound.  The sound doesn't affect me one way or another, but I know a lot of people mention sound as a deciding factor, so I wanted to include it.  Going to attach some initial photos.  If you want to see any other pics, let me know.  Ill report back after my 1st range session.

Thanks to GolfWRX and Tour Edge for giving me the opportunity to test the C722 driver.  I ordered it in 10.5° with Ventus 6-S, having used this shaft in another driver.  Initial pictures are below.

As @dugue4  mentioned, the crown has a very glossy finish and elongated head shape.  The face is quite deep.  While the specs mention that the C722 has a smaller 445 cc head, There is no noticeable difference between it and my G425 Max.  While I wouldn't call the C722 loud, it is not muted.  The sound is about as loud as the G425, but at a different tone.

The view at address is nice, with a slightly open visual compared to some others (TS2, G425) that I've used.

I received mine on Wednesday 7/13 and have 1/2 of a range session and 2 full rounds on the course with this driver.  I'll save my performance comments till after I've had time to adjust.

I ordered the C722 because I was looking for a competition level driver that was more workable than the G425 Max.  High cuts are easy, as is a standard "falling draw".  Will continue to play around with it for more complicated shapes as the weeks go on.

Early distance comparison on the course has the G425 at ~5 yards longer on well struck shots.  Ball striking is a strength of mine, so I haven't tested the forgiveness factor too much yet.  I did hit one very low on the face while trying a shape shot on the range.  Feedback was a bit harsh, which is fine.  I knew where I hit it from the feel.  That was one of my complaints about the G425, it just wanted to go straight regardless of what I did.

Looking forward to reporting back as I get some rounds on this club.  1 picture of the G425 at address is included for comparison.

That is indeed a crazy shiny crown. Wonder what it'll be like addressing the ball with the sun blazing down on you.

1 hour ago, xkilgorextroutx said: That is indeed a crazy shiny crown. Wonder what it'll be like addressing the ball with the sun blazing down on you.

I played an afternoon round yesterday and it is noticeable at address in full sun.

OK, 1st range session in the books.  First thing, the crown is noticeable if I was thinking about it in the full sun.  I wear sunglasses 99% of the time when I am outside so I quickly ignored and forgot about the glare.  I hit the E722 side by side with my PXG switching after around 4-5 swings.  Overall the E722 gave me straighter ball flight.  I want to say 80% of the balls were somewhat close to where I wanted them to be.  The PXG was probably closer to 60% which is actually higher than usual, I struggle off the tee.  If I could have 80% of my drives decent (not necessarily in the fairway), it would surely drop my handicap significantly. (I'm a 21, just for reference).

In my previous post, I compared the feel to hitting a homerun, and I want to amend that.  I think my initial swing was skewed by excitement as I didn't have that feeling today.  Not that it felt bad, (back to baseball analogy) it was like hitting towards the end of the bat, not so muck where the contact feels bad, but enough to know you just missed it, but you roll over and find a hole between short and third (no more baseball analogies).

Sound was louder than the PXG, but I quickly got use to it. I took a video to try and capture the different sounds, but it doesn't do a good job as they sound the same on the video.  Ill include it anyways.

Video of the different sounds.

If I wasn't reviewing this driver and just comparing for my own play, after today's range session, I would put it in the bag.  The results of the straighter drives outweigh the slim difference in sound and feel.

I am testing the Tour Edge Exotics C722 10.5 degree head with a Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 75 S. My initial thought after opening the box was this club looked nice. Looks like good construction and good components. It came with a wrench, headcover, and card to say what the loft and lie would be at different settings. The stock grip is a Lamkin Crossline 360 that is grey. I removed the shaft to take a few pictures of the C722 next to a Taylormade SIM 10.5 degree head. The C722 is a 445cc head and the SIM a 460cc head. I did not notice much of a difference between the two, but the C722 does look a little smaller. But nowhere near as noticeable as say the Taylormade SLDR 460 and SLDR 430. I also did notice that the adjusting tip looks a little more offset to the shaft, compared to the Taylormade and Titleist tips I have.

I was able to hit it at the range two times. I left the sole weights as they came from the factory, 20 in the back and 5 in the front position. The first day was overcast and humid. I thought that the sound of the club was solid and powerful, I really liked it. The ball flight was very flat, even with what I would call a hard fade. I really hit it solid for the 10 or so shots I hit it. I do not wear a glove, so I changed the grip to a z-cord after the first range session. The second range session was warm and sunny. I did not swing as well, but the ball flight was still strong and flat. The misses were mostly in direction and totally me, I was missing the same with the other clubs I hit that day. I did hit one high on the face but in the middle, which I often do, and that had a noticeably louder ting sound. I did not have a problem with the shine of the crown, but the sun was at my back as I hit. This is the first driver that I have had since a Titleist 910 that had the same color face and crown (both black). I hit that 910 driver all over the place and I think it was because I aligned it poorly. I have done fine with both hybrids and fairway woods that have a black color crown and face, but I think more loft and face grooves helps me align them better. The C722 has a black strip down the middle between the grey carbon fiber inserts that I think helps with alignment. I hope to get another range session in this week and play 18 at the end of the week. On the weekend I hopefully will play another round and adjust the weights and loft to see what kind of different flights I can get. I do not think it will spin enough for me with the heavier weight up front. But I will test it for sure.

Played 18 very, early Saturday morning with my regular group.  Hit the Tour Edge on 12 holes with moderate dispersion.  I was able to move it right to left and left to right at will, but it was easy to "over-cook" in both directions.  Distance was within ~5 yards of where my drive normally is on this course.  I wasn't missing fairways badly, but I can usually put the ball in a certain area of the fairway on command.  I found that I was just a bit off.

After the round, I dropped the playing length from the 45.5" shipped to my normal 44.25" driver length and switched to a Lamkin Full Cord since I do not use a glove.

Played 9 that evening and saw a noticeable change in my dispersion.  It was like a totally different driver just by dropping the 1.25" from the playing length.

The course we played on Sunday morning is long enough where I can hit driver on every hole except the par 3's, but several of the holes have tight landing areas.  Added a bit of lead tape after my tee shot on #4 and found the magic combination.   Everything seems dialed in now.  Still running it at 10.5° with the 20 gram weight up front.  Now that it is locked in for everything else, I will play around with spin by swapping those weights.  I had every intention of setting this driver up at 11.5° but have been seeing the desired flight and distance at 10.5°.

The shiny crown is less noticeable after several rounds, even in bright sunlight.  I intend to add pictures after round 10 showing any face wear.

Feel free to ask any questions or let me know what kind of pictures y'all want to see.  Sorry, I don't think I've ever used a launch monitor in my life.  So for you numbers folks out there, I'm not much help.  I judge equipment on the course, not through simulator numbers.  Generational thing I guess.

Played 18 today and I had the highest fairways hit I've ever had, 10/14, of which 8/12 were with the E722.   Two of the missed fairways with the driver were tops that I think I just tried to muscle up on.  The distance is a bit less than my PXG (maybe 8-10 yards on a perfect drive), but being in the fairway makes for a much better day.  I had two drives that I thought I pulled left but they both faded right back into the left side of the fairway and one that I pushed that drew back to the right side.  I don't know if that was the club or just dumb luck, but either way, I'll take it.  On hole 2, which was hole 14 today (everyone started on 7) I hit one of the straightest drives I've hit.  Unfortunately, there is a creek right down the middle of the fairway.  The other fairway I missed, the ball went straight and rolled into a fairway bunker.

I did have one issue with the driver.  After one of the topped tee shots the weight in the back became loose.  I tightened it up and didn't have an issue with it again.  I will keep an eye on it to make sure it stays put.

Good Day Forum Friends,

I am also privileged to have been included by Golfwrx and Tour Edge in the testing of the Tour Edge Exotics 722 Driver.  To both Golfwrx and Tour Edge many thanks for the opportunity!!!!

First off, a little about me.  I am a 70 yo experienced golfer.  Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but there is golf after 60.  Currently I carry a 9.0 index, and this year's claim to fame is a 9-hole elimination tournament round, where I made 5 birdies.  Needless to say, my opponets wondered how I could score so well carrying around all that sand.  I did play both high school and college golf, so maybe there are a few brain cells left that recall what a grooved swing looks like.

On to the club.

Upon unpackaging the first thing that struck me was the topline.    I have included an image of it in the pics.  While it may be a bit off putting to some, I am never one to make judgements upon initial impressions (please don't ask my wife if this is a valid statement).  I was however, wondering how I would like it as an alignment aid.  I am happy to report that after a couple of rounds with it, I actually like how easy it is to aim the driver.  The combination of glossy alignment and carbon webbing is however unique.  The Diamond Face is almost not visible at address, but it to was more than acceptable.  To my eye it appears somewhat square at address, which I very much like.

It is more than an understatement to say that feel is a quantifiable metric.  In fact, it is quite likely that no two golfers would describe feel similarly.   Without getting into a discussion of whether it is really sound and not feel (that discussion is better left to those who have a deeper appreciation for confrontation), suffice it to say that it is nowhere near Ping driver sound loudness, but not Titleist buttery feel either.  It is more in the middle with a somewhat mild Ping Ring combined with a Titleist thwack.  Not unpleasant, just different.  If you can figure out what that means you're a better man (woman) than I am.

Performance:

I have to begin this category by stating that while not the sole criteria by which drivers may be judged, for me, it is the number one, all in, really don't give a damn about anything else criteria.  I have spent a little time on the range trying to dial in correct loft and lie.  The Tour Edge has a single hosel adjustment, therefore you cannot adjust loft and lie independently.   If I understand properly, you can adjust lie more upright from standard, but not flatter.  On the range I did seem to notice a bit of draw bias.  I as well noticed at the standard setting that the driver launches very high.  Both of these were confirmed on the course.  I am three rounds in, and it launches a bit too high for my liking.  In all fairness I opted for the 10.5-degree loft (same as my current gamer, a TM Stealth).  In addition, the Ventus Red that is available is a "4Core" shaft which I am fairly certain does not have the Velocore plying my gamer has.  It certainly loads very differently as would be expected.  What I do see so far is a fairly straight driver.  I do have to be very careful not to really go after it or I can easily overcook it and snap hook it off the planet.  Again, not the fault of arrow more of the Archer.  If I was going to do it again, I would have asked for the 9.5 version.  In my last round I did adjust the loft down to 9.5.  It brought the flight down a bit, but it needs to come down some more.  Next round I intend to adjust down to 8.5 to see what that will do to ball flight.  It should help straighten the slight draw bias some.  I may also pick up a weight kit as the back 30-gram weight might be fun to play with.

Overall, I have to say I am fairly impressed with this driver.  Both my brother, and two of my playing partners in the three rounds played thus far have commented that I should take my gamer out and play this driver.  That's a pretty strong statement from non-biased parties.  I have owned Tour Edge fairway metals in the past and gotten along well with them.  In fact, they were probably one of the best fairway metals I have ever owned.  As far as drivers to be honest, I never have gotten along with Tour Edge driver.  That has changed with this driver.  For me, this driver makes life easier.  When my club pro asked me how I liked the driver I told him I was having trouble not hitting fairway's.  There are worse things in life.

If anyone has questions, please feel free to ask.  If you get the opportunity, you should certainly put this driver in your rotation for testing.  Once again, thanks to Golfwrx and Tour Edge.

I tested the C722 during an 18-hole round on a firm, fast, links style golf course. I left the loft at the standard 10.5 and the heavier 20-gram weight in the back position. The weather was hot and humid but there was a nice 15 mph wind. The first few holes played into the wind, and I was impressed with the C722’s strong flat ball flight. It seemed to cut through the wind real nice. And the holes that played downwind I hit some long ones for me. I found the ball flight to be strong even with fades. Next time I get out I will try to do some head-to-head hits against other clubs. So far, I am impressed with this club. I look forward to playing more rounds with the C722.

I played 18 on Friday on a course I had not played before.  My drives were as straight as last time (with the exception of one) but there were several times that I was in tough spots due to not knowing where to be on the new course.  My friend, who uses a stealth, hit it once and said he liked the feel (but his ball sliced so he didn't like it that much lol).  Overall I was 5/13 for fairways with my driver, but I was 8 or 9/ 13 on well struck balls that went in the direction I intended.

I plan on playing my home course tomorrow and Wednesday.  Ill report back then and have pictures of it after 72 holes.

Just moved my bag and heard a rattle.  The weight was loose again.

TEE makes solid equipment especially for the price point. C721 series is working out for me

The C721 hybrid has been a beast for me.

2 week update.........

After getting the driver dialed in and playing 7 or 8 rounds with it, I've decided it is a keeper.  The TEE C722 excels for me with accuracy and workability, just as I'd hoped.  My G425 is longer shot after shot, but that is ok.  Both have their place in my game and at the different courses I play.

Final setup:  9.5°U (which is a bit shocking), 20 gram weight in the back port, shaft cut to achieve 44.25" playing length, small amount of lead tape to get the swing weight just right, and a Lamkin Full Chord Midsize grip.

Ball flight is perfect, accuracy is outstanding, and distance is quite nice.  I'm able to put drives where I want in the fairway with ease and have found it very easy to shape in both directions.  One course I play weekly is known for its hilly terrain.  Simply landing in the fairway isn't enough, a good golfer will draw or fade the ball to achieve the best landing spot for the approach.  I am able to do that with the C722.

On my other frequent course, the fairways are wide and long.  That is where the G425 out performed.

After 2 weeks, I've adjusted my bag setups to make the C722 my gamer on tight, technical courses and have officially retired a Titleist 915 that had served me well in that role.

Pictures to follow in the next day or two.

How much distance difference are you seeing between the two?  Using the same shaft in both?

On average, 5-7 yards more with the G425, but the dispersion cone is wider.  I do not have the same shaft in both (Ping Tour S in the G425 and Ventus 6-S in the C722).  At my age, 7 yards isn't a killer on the course.  It's still in the margin of error for my hybrids most often used on approach.

Thanks. Debating between the c722 or the epic speed.  Both seem good.  Have the c721 hybrid that is awesome so leaning towards TEE.

I've never played the Epic Speed, but have been impressed with the C722.  The G425 wasn't the GOAT that my G400 was, but it's pretty close.  After 3 weeks and around 15 rounds on it, I have full confidence in the C722 every time I pull it out of the bag.

I will say that this is a "Player's Driver."  In order to add workability, they had to drop MOI and therefore drop forgiveness.  But if you are a ballstriker and like to play position off the tee, not sure there is a better option on the market right now.

I prefer the small head which is similar to the Speed.  Been a while since I've had a driver that I like the feel and looks. Appreciate your feedback.

Is the head a deeper face like a TS3 or little fatter and further back to front?  Hope that makes sense

I've had four rounds since my last update.  I haven't had the results of my first round with the E722 driver, but its still preforming slightly better than the pxg accuracy wise.  The real knock on the 722 for me is that I have had to tighten the weight from coming loose 4 times already.  Now, I am tightening it up pre-emptively 1-2 times a round just because the what if.  I'm not sure if a loose weight changes the performance, but in my mind it does.

Try a dab of blue loctite on the threads.  It should have come with some on it, but maybe that got missed at the factory.

Thanks

A 15+ round update.  The C722 continues to find its way in my bag on most courses.  On Friday, I hit 13/14 fairways and the one I missed, I did on purpose to significantly shorten my approach.  The rough isn't bad, but my back is, so I took the chance.

Shot after shot, the C722 is proving itself to be reliable when position off the tee is critical.  The G425 is longer, no doubt.  My normal Saturday morning round is on a long, open course.  I will be using the G425 on that course for the foreseeable future, but the C722 has been elevated to "regular" bag status.

I played with some older members at work on Tuesday and was asked about the TEE driver.  Note that these members have the resources to play any sticks they choose.  Somewhere around the turn, I offered one of them a chance to hit it.  While he loved the feel on the first shot, he missed the sweet spot on the second drive and saw the result in ballflight and distance.  I recommended that he look into the E series.

No issues on my end as @dugue4  has seen with the weights.  After my adjustments detailed in earlier posts, everything seems dialed in and ready to just hit golf balls.

I can't thank GolfWrx and Tour Edge enough for the opportunity to test this driver.  Without it, I would likely never have purchased and found out what a great product it is.  Next step is trying to convince my wife to let me purchase a C722 Fairway Wood to round out the set.

Nice review, thanks. To get the loft down, it's possible Tour Edge will allow a swap out driver heads if you ask them.

A swap out would be great!!!  I am just so thankful I was chosen I never thought about asking.  After a few weeks in using the head I have some additional comments:

I do believe that the head in 10.5 at least has a bit of draw bias.  With probably 7-10 rounds now in the books I can confirm this at least for me and my swing.  At first I thought my regular Stealth was longer by 5-7 yards.  Upon reassessment, I am not so certain this is the case.  This has a made for Ventus Red in it and I was tempted to change out the shafts with my aftermarket Ventus Red.  I ended up not going to the time and expense of doing this, but one wonders what the differences might be.  The very high ball flight continues so again, if I were to do it again I would go 9.5 in loft.  As an aside, I have had several of my playing partners say sent them the $399 for the club you hit that thing well.

Tour Edge has always been at the top of the heap in the fairway metal game and I have owned several.  Keep up the great work Tour Edge!!!!!

Did you play the C721?  If so, would you recommend making the upgrade.  I play the C721 in a ventus red 6-s now.  Been thinking of shopping for one of the TEE heads.

  • 6 months later...

Update:  I added a little bit of lead tape to the back.  Not sure if it helped or if its placebo, but I've been hitting it well in my sim.  I got to sneak out to the course today and I hit bomb with a bit of a fade on #2 and then on #4 I had a push fade just into the trees.  I go to put the head cover on and the head breaks completely off right above the adaptor.

No, I didn't throw it

No, I didn't slam it

Just put the head cover on.

What's weird is that it seems like if it broke on the swing, the head shoulda been tumbling down the fairway.  I'm going to contact Tour Edge tomorrow to see if there is warranty on a club that I was given.  If not, I'll be in the market for a new driver shaft.

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver Review (ULTRA Forgiving)

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver

The new Tour Edge Exotics E722 driver takes forgiveness to the next level with an ultra-light design and one of the highest MOI yet.

The E722 driver replaces the C721 and there are a number of design changes made to take this model to the next level of performance.

Tour Edge have opted for just 30 gram weight towards the sole, which has increased the MOI and allowed the center of gravity to be pushed 16% further back than the original C721.

Also featuring new Diamond Face VFT and a thinner Ridgeback spine, we take a look at the overall performance of the E722 driver in this article.

What Tour Edge says about the E722 driver:

“An ultra-premium forgiveness driver that takes MOI to the absolute extreme.

“The E722 Driver’s extreme low-rearward CG position produces an extremely high MOI that is 18% higher to increase stability at impact and tighter dispersion. This is amongst the top Moment of Inertia measurements available: a 5500 g/cm2 M.O.I. rating.

“The 460cc profile and deeper face is designed for maximum forgiveness. An extreme weighting design features a 30-gram weight at the extreme trailing edge on the sole of the clubhead.

“TE engineers created a thinner Ridgeback for E722 with increased structural properties and Ridgeback Sole activation.

“The spine running from the center of the face through the crown and wrapping around the head to connect with the newly designed sole plate.

“This Ridgeback spine acts as a brace to produce more power on across the entire face, including the extreme perimeters.

“Ridgeback is designed to create superior feel at impact. The extra rigidity created by the brace through the crown produces a much stronger feel at impact when compared to a full carbon crown and results in a crisper and brighter feel at strike.”

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver Specs & Design

The E722 driver was designed with feedback from Tour Edge’s senior tour pros, including Bernhard Langer.

The driver is described as “an ultra-premium forgiveness driver that takes MOI to the extreme”and that is achieved due to a combination of new technologies.

Thanks to a light 30-gram back weight, Tour Edge have been able to increase the Moment of Inertia to a 5500 g/cm2 rating. The MOI is what has made the driver more forgiving than its predecessor the C721.

The TE Carbon Wrap Technology is another key design element in the weight saving and contributes to the CG being pushed 16% lower than in the C721.

The Diamond Face VFT, meanwhile, provides forgiveness from across the entire face of the E722 driver.

Ridgeback Technology inside the club head adds a solid spin with rigidity for a confidence inspiring feel and sound.

The E722 driver comes with an adjustable hosel and is available in in 9, 10.5 and 12 degrees for right handers but only 10.5 degrees for left handers.

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver Review

Even our low-handicap golfers testing this driver thought it may have even out-performed its sister C722 geared for better players. The look is similar, although slightly larger. Put it on record: Both models are Tour Edge’s best drivers to date!

The sleek look invites you to take a super-aggressive cut at the ball

Impressively forgiving

Impact sounds mighty

Misses high on the clubface tend to rocket skyward and go short

Why you can trust Golf Monthly Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test .

Best known for selling “value” clubs, Tour Edge’s Exotics premium line aims to compete with the major brands. For this club, the company got feedback from its Champions Tour pros – including Bernhard Langer – while creating the design. The 460cc E722 (Extreme) offers high MOI via a 30-gram back weight, higher launch and maximum forgiveness, with more spin and slightly more offset.

We wanted to find out whether this was one of the most forgiving drivers of 2022, so we tested it up against the Tour Edge Exotics C722 driver , to find out for ourselves.

Tour Edge 722 Crown Views

The Tour Edge Exotics 722 series crown view

The design is intricately cool. A thin “Ridgeback” spine acts as a brace – running from the clubface center through the crown and connecting with a new sole plate rail – producing more power across the entire face right to the extreme perimeter. That means a stronger, crisper impact.

Like many of the best golf drivers , the clubhead’s also made with carbon fiber from crown to sole (optimizing the CG location), and sports variable clubface thickness that extends further out to the heel and toe. This should help your ball speed when you fail to strike it from the middle of the face. In fact, there are 61 diamond shapes comprised of seven different thicknesses in an interweaving pattern on the clubface. They function as mini-trampolines, for hotter strikes all across that get you more distance.

The Tour Edge Exotics E722 driver also has a 30-gram weight at the extreme trailing edge of the sole for an extreme low-rearward CG that increases stability at impact and tightens dispersion. Additional weights are available in 20, 25 and 35 grams – individually or in a weight kit. The company also placed sound-enhancing ribs inside the clubhead, to improve impact acoustics.

E722 driver close up

As the photograph above shows, you can adjust loft up and down by two degrees, from the base lofts of 9.5, 10.5 and 12 degrees. And the shaft is scientifically paired for every flex.

In our testing, the look at address was outstanding – replete with a clearing across the crown that points squarely to the ball. The shape feel generous too and instils confidence - similar to what you get from the shaping of the Callaway Rogue ST Max driver or the PING G425 SFT driver.

Impact rings loud off the deep clubface, giving you the feeling that you nutted it – even on off-center hits. And right/left forgiveness was also reliably good. Trajectory was pleasantly high and carry was long – perhaps better than most clubs in the best drivers for high handicappers category.

With a recommended retail price of $399, we think that with the level of playability on offer, this represents excellent value for money.

The Tour Edge Exotics E722 driver is a very forgiving driver that can work for players at any level.  Great impact sound.  Mid spin, mid/high launch.

Check out the new Tour Edge Exotics E723 driver HERE

Introduction

Tour Edge Exotics is best known for making Tour-style clubs.  It’s right in the name, and it’s proven in their track record across professional tours.  But just because their clubs are great for the pros doesn’t mean they can’t engineer high performing tools for recreational golfers, too.  When TEE tunes their signature technologies for the average player, you get a club like the E722 driver.

used tour edge e722 driver

The Tour Edge Exotics E722 driver uses asymmetrical carbon fiber plates in the crown to play a small trick on your eyes.  This head is almost perfectly round, but because the toe-side plate is much larger, it gives the driver a pear-shaped appearance.  In terms of size, the E722 is a standard modern driver that’s slightly elongated from front to back.

Flipping the club over, you’ll see that those carbon fiber panels wrap around to the sole.  Along the middle of the sole, there’s prominent Tour Edge Exotics branding.  A large weight at the rear of the head calls attention to the design focus: high MOI.

used tour edge e722 driver

The differences between the C722 (right) and E722 drivers at address are minute.   The E722 sits square, the C722 is a hair open.  This difference may seem larger in the picture above because of the camera angle.  Staring at them side-by-side, the E722 is also a little more rounded, making it appear a little bulkier on the toe side.  This makes the face appear a bit taller, though it isn’t.  Without having the clubs next to each other, it would be very hard to tell one from the other.

Sound & Feel

Much like their looks, the sounds of the E722 and C722 [review HERE ] are similar with subtle differences.  That same “crack/snap” is still the dominant feature at impact, but it’s slightly quieter and lower pitched in the E722.  This may be the result of of having only one weight port in the sole.  Regardless, it’s a powerful sound that announces your presence with authority.

As in the C722, the feedback is very precise through the hands .  If you’re paying any attention at all, you’ll know exactly where the ball met the face.  This level of feedback in a highly stable driver is impressive.

Performance

The Tour Edge Exotics E722 driver has the same adjustable hosel as its brother, but it trades the Front/Back Weighting System for higher MOI.  The E722 driver has a single 30 gram weight at the back of the head which pushes the MOI to 5500 g/cm² (the C722 tops out at 4,950).

Higher MOI means greater stability and more forgiveness .  When you combine the high MOI with TEE’s signature technologies – Ridgeback, Carbon Wrap Tech, and Diamond Face VFT – you have a driver that produces extremely consistent results.

used tour edge e722 driver

Every performance metric – distance, ball speed, launch angle, and spin – is very stable with the E722 driver .  Even when I was first getting used to this club, the shots kept flying on similar trajectories to similar distances.  If forgiveness is at the top of your wish list, the E722 needs to be one you try this year.

In comparing the E722 and C722 drivers, I found that I was a bit more comfortable with the feel of the C722 which is why it produced better numbers (yes, you can compare the numbers in the two reviews apples-to-apples).  As I noted in the C722 review, the location of the CG can make a big difference in how a club feels to you, and the C722 hit a sweet spot for me.  That said, it would be very easy for me to put the E722 driver in the bag in light of how consistent it is.

used tour edge e722 driver

In the C722 and E722 drivers, Tour Edge Exotics gives players numerous shaft choices .  From Mitsubishi Chemicals, they offer the TENSEI Orange, White, and Blue.  The latter two come in both 65 and 75 gram versions.  From Fujikura, light weight players can get what they want from the Air Speeder.  Ventus Red and Ventus Blue are also available.  TEE uses their Speed Tested system to recommend shafts to those that can’t be fit in person.

used tour edge e722 driver

For players that value forgiveness and consistency above all else, the Tour Edge Exotics E722 driver is a must-try.  This club doesn’t lack in distance, but it’s the predictability that really makes it special.  Get it fit with the right shaft and loft and you’ll have a great year off the tee.

Great review. I just got the c722 and could not be happier. Question: if I put a heavier weight in the back would it increase the moi a bit?

' src=

Yes, you’ve got it exactly.

' src=

I received the e722 yesterday I have an older tour edge with a draw face and my question is do any of these setting help to make a draw face?

If you set the hosel so the face is closed at address, that should help produce a draw.

What is the best setting to try to hit a draw (draw face) ?

Try the “++” setting.

' src=

I’ve got the C721 from last year and love it. I also have a couple Tour Edge hybrids which are great. Tour Edge are a very underrated company. Check them out! You won’t be disappointed. Great Review.

' src=

Matt — I am a VERY senior golfer (will leave it up to you to equate that to an approximate age) — and I have a Tour Edge XCG6 that has been in my bag for probably close to 10 years. I love it. But recently I discovered a crack in the shaft, and am vacillating between reshafting and buying a new TE. I’ve been reading about the E722 and like what I’ve discovered. My swing speed is probably right at 70 mph; my desire is forgiveness and as straight a trajectory as possible. I have discovered that I also need a shaft that is about 1″ shorter than “standard” (I’ve shrunk over the years . . .) My index is +/- 25. So: bottom line — would you recommend that E722 for me, and how might I communicate to a provider that I need a shaft adjustment? Yeah — I know I can always choke down, but I’d rather have the feel of a “full grip.” Thanks much!!

As to whether or not the E722 is a fit, my recommendation is to get a fitting. Anything short of an in person fitting is just expensive guess work. When you are ready to order a club, most manufacturers have an option for specifying club length.

' src=

I have just been for a driver fitting and the tour edge e772 was by far the best driver for me, it just felt so much better than the rest and consistant, looking forward to playing with it, really good driver

' src=

How does the e722 compare to my rbz stage 2 driver for performance. 90mph swing speed .

I don’t have any head to head data on those two. My advice is always to try it during a fitting against whatever you’re gaming now.

' src=

What is E722 driver approximate ball speed.

It depends on the player swinging it and their club speed.

Correction: what is the E722 driver approximate ball spin rate.

Same answer: depends on the person swinging it.

' src=

Hello Matt,

Will you be reviewing the 723 line in near future?

Yes, we’re working to get those in soon.

' src=

Hey Matt, I currently hit the Tour Edge “Hot Launch” E522. Driver. It is very forgiving and I hit it pretty well for a 60yr old. But it has a very unique sound. Sounds pretty much like an aluminum bat striking a baseball. I love the performance but not crazy about the sound. Does the “Exotics “ E722 have the same sound? Would the performance be matched or even maybe improved? Thank you

I think the E722 and 522 drivers sound different and perform differently. Whether or not the performance is better will be a matter of fit.

' src=

After trying the “BIG” three over the last 2 months I had to go with the Tour Edge E722… We kicked out the Mistu shaft, and did a transplant to the 60 gram Fuji Ventus Blue in a “stiff”…. Wow, what a difference…. “it might” only be 9/10 yards longer, it’s certainly 12/14 yards straighter — I mean straighter. I’ve always had a bad habit of slicing — not with this Fuji blue Ventus.. amazing.

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver Review

Tour edge exotics e722 driver.

Tour Edge’s new Exotics 722 lineup includes two different series consisting of “competitive spec” (C series) and “extreme forgiveness” (E series) options. The new Tour Edge Exotics E722 driver boasts maximum forgiveness with a high MOI, rear center of gravity (CG), and updated technology for exceptional performance. Add in good looks and incredible feel, and the E722 is an absolute giant killer in the premium driver market.

Looks 3

As the more “extreme forgiveness” option, the Tour Edge Exotics E722 driver has a 460cc head. The footprint is moderate with a sleek pear shape that looks clean behind the ball. Though built for extreme forgiveness, the E722 by no means screams “game improvement” and will appeal to players of all skill levels, including low handicappers.

You will also notice the return of Ridgeback Technology and the Carbon Wrap. In the E driver head, there is 34% more carbon fiber than previous models which makes for a lighter crown and sole. This allows Tour Edge to optimize the CG location by giving them more discretionary weight to play with. That means Tour Edge can take that saved weight and place it in better locations to optimize feel and performance. Running through that carbon fiber is a metal spine called “Ridgeback” that connects the face to the sole of the club. We’ll discuss Ridgeback further throughout the review.

Feel 4

How Does it Feel?

Diamond Face technology returns in the 722 line of Tour Edge Exotics metal woods. Both the new E and C series drivers feel exceptionally good. One the main reasons is the updated Diamond Face technology. Diamond Face VFT has 61 diamond shapes with 7 varying thicknesses behind the 722 driver’s face. These diamonds act as mini trampolines and make the face feel hotter. Especially on mishits. The extreme edges of the face are significantly thinner which allows for more flex on shots “not so close to the sweet spot”. Both the 722 drivers were some of the most lively feeling drivers on mishits that I’ve ever hit.

The Ridgeback Technology mentioned earlier makes the club feel solid at impact. Ridgeback starts at the center of the topline and wraps around to connect to the new “sole plate rail”. This helps the head keep its shape at impact instead of wasting energy by warping and having to return to normal. Instead you can feel the power of the swing transfer back into the ball with a lot of force . When you catch one dead in the center, it absolutely pops.

Feel is also the first place you start to notice the E722 driver’s a 5500 g/cm2 M.O.I. rating. That means the driver is well balanced and resistant to twisting at impact. There’s a replaceable weight in the rear of the sole that moves the CG low and back. This keeps the MOI about as high as it can legally get, as well as making it easier to launch the ball and keep it straight. The end result is a smooth balance with good club head awareness and easy control throughout the swing.

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver 7

How Does it Sound?

In the Exotics 722 drivers, Tour Edge used what they call “Internal Sound Diffusion Ribbing”. Its purpose is very similar to previous technologies they’ve used in the last couple of models. The Sound Diffusion Ribbing controls how the sound vibrates around the head and ultimately what you hear when you strike the ball. On a square shot, the sound is a forceful and tight “crack” with the ever so slight hint of a metallic tone.

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver 8

On-Course Performance

The first performance characteristic I want to cover is the Tour Edge Exotics E722’s forgiveness. Tour Edge’s new Diamond Face VFT and ultra-high MOI makes mishits on the 722 drivers a lot less punishing , and the E722 really showcased this for us. For my initial testing, I teamed up with my ‘That Range Life’ partner in crime, Kris McEwen. The two of us regularly struggled to find the center of the face for awhile, yet you wouldn’t have thought so based on the resulting shots. The ball was still easily getting in the air thanks to the deep and low CG. Any ball speed loss was minimal. The only you would have been able to tell was the impact tape we were using and the differences we saw once we started finding the center of the face.

With ball speeds being high, getting the ball in the air and carrying was also a breeze. In a lot of ways, it felt like you just needed to make a serviceable swing and the club really took care of the rest . Additionally, the maximum MOI made it easy to keep the ball straight and on target. Like I mentioned in the Feel section, a higher MOI makes the club want to stay square at impact so the ball will stay on its line. Don’t get me wrong, a bad swing is a bad swing, but the club will help you minimize the damage. Get fitted into the right shaft (take a look at the SpeedTested options below!) and everything seems falls into place.

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver 2

Final Thoughts – Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver

Tremendous feel, big speeds, and easy launch. Starting at $399.99, the Tour Edge E722 driver not only holds its own against drivers that are hundreds of dollars more expensive, and it’s arguably better. While the E722 is also the “extreme forgiveness” driver of the lineup, it should be considered an option for players of all skill levels looking for easy launch and control with big distance. It’s a great versatile driver that’s easy to hit long and straight with excellent feel, simple as that. And it’s not just me saying that, you’ll see the E722 driver in plenty of some big name bags on the Champions Tour this season.

Stock Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver Specs

Tour Edge used their T.E.D. swing robot to determine the best shaft option in their diverse lineup for every swing flex and speed. The below list has Tour Edge’s “SpeedTested” stock shaft offerings with suggestions based on different swing speed ranges.

  • 85 MPH or below: Fujikura Air Speeder: Ladies 35 (R3) | 40 (R2) | 40 (R)
  • 85-95 MPH: Fujikura Ventus Red 4T Core: 50 R / 60 S
  • 95-105 MPH: Fujikura Ventus Blue 4T Core: 60g S / 60g X
  • 105+ MPH: Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW Blue 65: 67g S / 68g X (*Extreme fast swing speeds can fit into Tensei RAW Orange or RAW White)

Great review as always, love Tour Edge stuff. Would be curious to hear your take on the new Exotics C & E spec drivers compared to the Hot Launch C & E spec drivers. If the Exotics line is now producing a C & E spec, what is the purpose of the HotLaunch product line other than maybe providing a more affordable option for golfers?

' src=

The Exotics gear is using more premium materials, there’s more adjustability, and more premium shaft options.

The Hot Launch E522 is far more game improvement with more offset than the E722. It’s geared toward players that need/want significant draw bias and higher launch/spin. The E722 is really just a high MOI 460cc driver that is easy to launch and can appeal to players of high skill level as well. For instance, a lot of Champions players will have the E722 in the bag this season, whereas they wouldn’t ever play the HL E522.

' src=

What head and shaft would work best for a 70 year old 5′-8″ 80 to 90 mph swing speed player. Handy cap is 12 for 18 holes. I already see any hit exotics irons.

I would say that isn’t enough data to really make an educated guess beyond the SpeedTest suggestions in the Specs section above, which Tour Edge suggested the Fujikura Ventus Red. I’d pick flex based on your miss. If you could use a little help getting the face to square/close, go with the lighter flex.

' src=

I just started gaming the Tour Edge E722 driver after brief stints with Taylormade Stealth, Cobra LTDx, and a longer time with a Ping G425. I am a 6 handicap and a senior golfer. I am hitting this as long if not longer and very straight. My misses are way better than the competitors mentioned. The best part though is the feel and sound. I have finally found a long term fairway finder. Very happy.

' src=

Mark – what shaft did you end up going with? Curious as I have Some TEE fairways already(prior version). Thanks

' src=

What the difference on clubs from the c721 to the e722

The 721 lineup didn’t feature the C and E designation yet. As such, I would say the 721 fairway wood was a little more “middle of the road” – not quite a player’s driver, not quite an ultra forgiving option. The E722 on the other hand is more forgiving, designed for higher launch and spin, a little larger profile, etc.

When I spoke with Tour Edge before the launch of the 722 lineup last season, one of the guys said to me, “the 721 fits into a ‘D’ space, so if it was in this year’s lineup, it would be the D722.” I feel like that’s pretty accurate.

' src=

I have an E722 driver. The sound at contact is a very loud and annoying ping! Cannot believe it has any muffling at all. Getting rid of it!!

Tour Edge Exotics 722 metalwoods: What you need to know

Tour Edge Exotics new metalwoods lineup includes two-pronged approach with workable C722 and forgiving E722

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2022/2/FirstCut_TourEdge.jpg

W HAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Tour Edge Exotics’ line over the years has leaned toward a certain type of high-speed, low-spin better player, but in 2022 the company is expanding its highest tech lineup of drivers, fairway woods and hybrids. Now there will be a C722 version for that traditional Exotics’ player, emphasizing compact shaping, low-spin and workability, and it will be joined by the E722 collection of metalwoods, where the main calling card will be extreme forgiveness.

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2022/2/e722driver_sole2.png

PRICE: C722 driver, $430; E722 driver, $400; C722 fairway woods, $300; E722 fairway woods, $250; C722 hybrids, $250; E722 hybrids, $230.

THE DEEP DIVE: Tour Edge Exotics metalwoods have been gaining a foothold with the company’s growing staff of players on the PGA Tour Champions, their advanced use of multiple materials in recent clubs like the Exotics EXS 220 , the C721 and C721 Pro , singularly tuned for the demands of better players. Or so you might think. Turns out not all better players want the same thing. In fact, plenty of them prefer drivers, fairway woods and hybrids that exude forgiveness in every way shape and form. In other words, just what the working man needs, too.

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2022/2/c722driver_sole1.png

That’s why the latest collection from Tour Edge Exotics lineup comes in pairs. The Exotics C722 metalwoods will cater to the low-spin, low-launch and high workability traditional needs of better players, while the Exotics E722 will feature larger footprints with high moment of inertia (forgiveness on off-center hits) and higher launch.

That push toward more forgiveness oddly enough came from the company’s work with better players, said David Glod, Tour Edge’s founder, president and chief designer. He points specifically to the development of the E722 driver, which features among the very highest MOI of any current driver in the market at 5,500 grams/centimeters square (the USGA limit is 5,900).

“A lot of this comes from what we’ve learned on the Champions Tour the last few years and how unique these drivers need to be for different players and that’s why we have the versatility that we have in these drivers,” Glod said. “We could only fit probably a third of our tour players accurately with the C driver, and last year’s Pro driver maybe got us another third, but there’s this missing third we couldn’t get to because they need a deeper CG like we have on the E driver now.”

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2022/2/e722driver_top.png

That deeper CG is a result of some not insignificant gains in discretionary mass. The E722 driver increases the amount of carbon composite that wraps around the crown and sole by 34 percent through a slight thinning of the central beam of titanium and by pushing the carbon composite slightly closer to the crown. It also helps to stretch that front to back measurement of the crown, which results in 10 additional grams of weight savings. That allows for an extreme rear backweight of 30 grams, 18 more than was on last year’s C721, according to Matt Neeley, Tour Edge’s vice president of product development.

“The biggest thing we were trying to attack with that E driver was getting that player a little bit more spin for maximum playability,” he said, noting that the center of gravity is some 50 millimeters behind the face or “just about as far back as anybody goes.”

“Every piece of discretionary weight we have on the E driver is all in the back of it.”

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2022/2/e722fwy_sole2.png

The E722 also enhances forgiveness with its larger face area and a new version of the variable thickness face pattern. The cross-hatched diamond shapes have been redesigned to further improve the way the face flexes on off-center locations at the heel and toe.

Of course, the C722 version of the driver also has gotten an upgrade from last year’s C721, which also includes the same improvements to the diamond-shaped variable thickness pattern. The same saved weight that led to a deep CG and high forgiveness on the E722 is used to create front and back weight ports on the sole. They house 20- and 5-gram weights.

“We wanted to see if we could create two drivers in one with our C722 this year,” Neeley said, noting that with the heavier weight forward the CG is very similar to the C721, which he said was well-received by Champions Tour players. “Even though we have just two drivers this year, I kind of feel we’ve increased our fitting spread by 200 percent because what we actually have are three drivers.”

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2022/2/c722fwy_sole2.png

The distinct differences in workability and forgiveness hold true in the C722 and E722 fairway woods and hybrids, as well. The E models are larger and more forgiving, while the C models are compact and stress workability. While related, they present even starker contrasts than the pair of drivers. For example, the C722 fairway wood uses a titanium face and body, along with a carbon composite crown. It pushes the CG extremely low through the use of a thick rail-like center section of the sole that’s lower than the heel and toe sections. Called a Ryzersole by the company, it puts 90 grams at the very bottom of the club, including an 80-gram tungsten sole weight. There’s also an adjustable hosel to tweak loft, the first time that’s been used on a Tour Edge fairway wood in six years.

The E722, which also features its own version of the Ryzersole, uses a maraging steel face to go with the weight-saving composite crown. Its much larger shape and broader range of lofts, including a 21-degree 7-wood, provides a more confidence-inspiring look at address for average golfers.

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2022/2/e722hybrid_sole2.png

The E722 and C722 hybrids use similar versions of that rail-like sole feature to push the center of gravity lower, but the larger E722 features a 10-gram weight in the rear of the sole to add forgiveness, while the C722 places that weight closer to front for reduced spin. The C722 hybrids, which like the C722 fairway woods feature an adjustable hosel, are just 100 cubic centimeters in size, while the E722 hybrids are as much as 15 percent larger. Both models feature a maraging steel face with the diamond-shapes variable thickness pattern.

Neeley said that two-pronged approach to the Exotics 722 metalwoods lineup mirrors the company’s more affordable Hot Launch metalwoods, the C522 and E522 .

“It’s interesting because in the past we’ve talked about the tech features in Exotics and how we’ve brought them down to the Hot Launch family,” he said. “Adding this E lineup is a little bit of working the other way around. Being able to learn some of the successes we’ve had on the Hot Launch E products, we’re taking a little bit of those learnings into our Exotics E range.”

The Exotics E722 and C722 metalwoods lineup will be available at retail March 5. They include three lofts on the E722 driver (9.5, 10.5, 12 degrees, all adjustable lofts, +/- 2 degrees; $400) and two lofts on the C722 driver (9.5, 10.5 degrees, all adjustable; $430). The E722 fairway woods come in five lofts (13, 15, 16.5, 18, 21 degrees; $250), while the C722 fairway woods, which are adjustable +/- 1.5 degrees, come in just 13-, 15- and 18-degree lofts ($300). The E722 hybrids come in five lofts (17, 19, 22, 25 degrees; $220), while the adjustable C722 hybrids (+/- 1.5 degrees) also are offered in the four lofts (17, 19, 21, 23 degrees; $250).
