Sphere Las Vegas looks out over Sin City

For a city that’s constantly reinventing itself, Las Vegas is never without a new attraction. From the Bellagio dancing fountains to a replica of the Eiffel Tower and incredible live shows and performances up and down the Strip, the place has a lock on entertainment. Sphere Las Vegas , one of the newest must-see sights and concert venues, encapsulates all that in one giant orb.

Attached to The Venetian Resort Las Vegas , everything about Sphere Las Vegas is mind-blowing. Touted as the world’s largest spherical structure, the electrified ball measures 516 feet wide and 366 feet tall. Covered in a wraparound, high-resolution screen, the exterior transforms into everything from a massive yellow emoji to a giant jack-o’-lantern, basketball, or blinking eyeball, thanks to 1.2 million LEDs.

It’s incredible to see from various points around the Strip (though not really from the Strip; more on that later) or when you fly into Harry Reid International Airport. Inside Sphere Las Vegas is just as astonishing. It's like a Disneyland ride meets the greatest show on Earth — a spectacle for concerts like U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere or high-def films like "Postcard From Earth."

If you’re considering a visit — and you should — here’s everything you need to know about the attraction, from getting Sphere Las Vegas tickets to where to sit for shows.

Where is Sphere located?

Sphere Las Vegas is located behind The Venetian Resort, one long block off the Strip. You can get to Sphere via a pedestrian bridge from The Venetian or access it via Sands Avenue or Westchester Drive or from the Plaza Entry on the east side of the building.

There is a parking lot, but you’ll have to buy parking with your tickets via Ticketmaster. The lot also has designated ride-share areas.

No matter how you get to it, plan on doing a lot of walking. Like everything in Las Vegas, it might look close on a map or even out your window. But once you start walking, it’s exponentially farther than you thought. If you’re staying at one of the resorts, ask hotel staff for the best way to get there.

  • Check the latest rates for The Venetian Resort Las Vegas

Where can you find the best views of Sphere Las Vegas?

Because Sphere is east of the Strip, it’s become almost a sport to find the best and most unique views of the orb. You get great views when you land at the airport. If you’re driving in, you can see it from 1-215. You’ll also get a good view of Sphere Las Vegas from the Las Vegas Monorail and the High Roller Observation Wheel at The LINQ.

Anyone playing through at the Wynn Golf Club has prime spotting. The upper level at the Wynn's parking structure is said to be one of the best places to see it, too. You can even see it from the McDonald’s drive-thru on Paradise Road.

If you’re walking on the Strip, the towering resort buildings obstruct your view. However, if you’re staying at The Venetian or The Palazzo , you can book rooms that have stunning views of Sphere. Just remember: Like Vegas itself, Sphere never turns off. Make sure to bring those sleep eye masks!

What’s it like inside Sphere Las Vegas?

Watching the screen morph and change outside Sphere is one thing; seeing a show inside is another.

There are nine levels to Sphere, including a basement with a VIP lounge. In addition to the venue bowl, there’s a very cool atrium with holographic art installations, interactive robots to chat with, and a 360-degree avatar capture for the ultimate Las Vegas keepsake.

The main venue has four levels of seats, a general admission floor for concerts, plus high-dollar suites for groups. It seats 17,500 people and holds even more with standing room on the floor. What makes this a concert or movie venue like no other: Sphere's fully immersive environment and the 16K resolution LED screen — supposedly the largest in the world — that wraps up and around the audience. That equates to incredible backdrops and visuals to anything you see there.

The sound is impeccable from every seat — like wearing headphones without wearing headphones. For some events, seats have movement sensations to really “feel” the experience. You also may experience flashing lights, intense lighting, visual effects, and atmospheric simulations, like fog, scent, and wind. If any of that’s a problem, this might not be the experience for you.

How much does it cost to go to Sphere Las Vegas?

You need tickets to enter Sphere and prices vary. The Sphere Experience , which features 50 minutes of access to the atrium and the 60-minute immersive film, Darren Aronofsky’s “Postcard from Earth,” is the best way to see what it’s all about.

Tickets start at $69 per person and go up to $249 for the “Director’s Seats,” a package that includes the best seats in the house (section 306), expedited entry, a pre-show drink and snacks, and a T-shirt.

Concert tickets, like most these days, are set by the band and promoter — and they aren’t cheap. When U2 launched its U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere residency in September 2023, the cheapest tickets went for $140. Tickets for the final February and March 2024 shows start around $466, and those are for seats with an obstructed view. Resale tickets are in the thousands.

All Sphere tickets are available via Ticketmaster. You also can try resale sites like StubHub, VividSeats, and SeatGeek for the big concerts that sell out faster than you can say, “Achtung Baby.”

What are the best seats inside Sphere Las Vegas?

Almost every seat is amazing at Sphere Las Vegas. However, some have obstructed views of the screen, due to the overhang of upper levels.

If you want to get the full experience of the movie or band and the towering high-def screen, you'll want to avoid certain seats in very far right and far left sections at the 100 level. From rows 22 and higher, you'll see the stage and a large portion of the screen in front of you; the screen directly above will be obstructed. Rows 30 and higher are completely obstructed by the overhang; you'll see the stage and only a small sliver of the screen.

Seats in the 200, 300, and 400 levels are the best, and even better if you stick with sections that end in five, six, and seven. For instance, section 306, which Sphere touts as the best for “Postcards from Earth.”

Note: The seats are narrow and it gets pretty steep in the upper levels. If you’re prone to vertigo or uncomfortable walking along steep stairs, consider getting seats in the lower levels.

Can you eat and drink in Sphere Las Vegas?

Like any other concert or sports venue, you can't bring in outside food or beverages to Sphere. Once inside, there are plenty of beverage options, including nonalcoholic drinks, beer, wine, and cocktails. Prices range from $7 for bottled water to $20 for wine and $30 for specialty cocktails.

If you’re on a budget, do a little pre-show gambling and get free drinks at The Venetian, a USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Award winner for Best Las Vegas Casino . Not interested in buying water? Bring a clear, soft-plastic empty bottle with you and fill it up at the water fountains inside Sphere.

Food options at Sphere include typical concert fare, like chicken strips, burgers, pizza, and poke bowls. But this is Vegas — there are so many amazing restaurants to enjoy before or after the show.

Who will play at Sphere after U2?

U2 ends its residency on March 2. After that, jam band Phish plays four shows in four days in April, and Dead & Company announced a 24-show residency beginning in May. Given everything we’ve told you about Sphere Las Vegas, either show undoubtedly will deliver one of the trippiest Las Vegas experiences ever.

Mclaren experience center at wynn, powered by o’gara.

“There’s something about these cars that just seem to put a smile on people’s faces,” says Tom O’Gara, founder of O’Gara Coach. “People don’t buy a McLaren for transportation. They buy it because it transports them somewhere — creating memories and experiences, meeting new people, new friendships.

Even if you aren’t in the market for a six-figure supercar, the experience center has points of attraction for all including the world’s largest McLaren showroom vehicle configurator, a racing simulator similar to the one used by McLaren Formula 1 racer, Lando Norris , McLaren merchandise from caps to the TUMI McLaren luggage and limited-edition Las Vegas-themed T-shirts.

“We are exclusive in terms of price but inclusive in terms of how we interact with people — we bring our audience closer to the brand, let them interact, have experiences they can’t have with other supercar brands. From our perspective, it is that ability to get close to the fans and the public,” says Roger Ormisher, vp of communications for McLaren in The Americas.

“We are a race car team that builds road cars, not the other way around. It is a very different mindset. The Artura is an incredibly complex vehicle,” Ormisher says. “We did everything new and that’s a real race car mentality. The carbon fiber technology is cutting edge — lightweight, is obviously a key thing. It’s very much about the technology of the car and the fulfillment you get with the drive.”

We got what we paid for, tickets to Cirque's Ka show ($275) ... However, they will lie to you about other discount ticket companies! She kept insisting that noone can offer deals right now bc several shows are already on "Holiday Pricing" and ticketing agencies are not allowed to sell below face value, blah blah blah. Basically, anywhere you shop will have the same price point... that was simply UNTRUE, as we later discovered walking by another agency's sales kiosk on The Strip. Oh well, lesson learned! Don't rush to buy tickets at the first place you see, no matter what they're telling you.

We booked ATV tours through our hotel concierge who utilized Tickets and Tours. We have the ticket print outs from Tic&Tours in hand, waiting at 6:30am to be picked up from our hotel and the shuttle never shows. When we call the ATV tour company, they never received a reservation for us from Tic&Tour. They just straight up didn't send our reservation in. We weren't able to go ATVing and are leaving Vegas tomorrow. Tickets and Tours, never again.

Anyone looking for discount tickets should avoid those blue booths all over Las Vegas (airport and in hotels). I purchased tickets from them that they claimed were discounted 30%. However, when I went to pick up the tickets, the tickets cost $40.00 less than they charged. I should have just purchased them from the box office. I tried to call and was given the "let me get a manager" routine. Each person I talked to sounded like they were in another country and could not help me, only to say I was SOL. Thankfully my credit card company stepped in and made things right. Their partner is www.showtickets.com, so avoid that website as well.

A Last-Minute Trip to What May Be the Priciest Super Bowl Ever: Around $9,859 Per Person

Thinking of a splurge to see the big game in Las Vegas this weekend? You’ll be competing with billionaires who are going to “have trouble parking their planes.”

  • Share full article Share free access

A large black-and-white structure looms over a rain-drenched road. A sign on the front of the structure says, “Allegiant Stadium,” and there is a screen on the front of the stadium with an image of giant letters spelling out “Super Bowl LVIII,” with archways containing statues of football players lining the background.

By Shannon Sims

Shannon Sims, a frequent contributor to the Travel section, lives in Houston. She is watching the Super Bowl from her couch.

So you want to go to the Super Bowl this weekend. Even for non-football fans, this year’s spectacle of professional sports and over-the-top entertainment — in Las Vegas, no less — could be hard to resist.

Some of the best players of their generation, like Nick Bosa, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, will take the field when the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs meet on Sunday. Off the field, the city will be packed with celebrities, including Usher (the halftime headliner), Luke Combs , Adele and Wu-Tang Clan — and those are just the weekend’s scheduled performers. So many people are expected this weekend, confirmed Monika Bertaki, the chief marketing officer at Harry Reid International Airport, that no airplane parking spots are available at Harry Reid, North Las Vegas or Henderson Executive Airports. It’s going to be a party.

If you can afford to go, that is. Considering the cost of flights, lodging, assorted travel expenses and entry into Allegiant Stadium, Super Bowl LVIII may be the most expensive to attend.

As of Tuesday, people were paying a median of $8,776 per ticket , according to data from the ticket marketplace Vivid Seats , thousands of dollars more than most recent Super Bowl matchups. Driving the demand are a number of factors, including the possibility of Taylor Swift attending , the stadium being one of the National Football League’s smallest in terms of capacity and Las Vegas hosting its first Super Bowl.

“Prices go up and down for Super Bowls, but they are going to be historically high for this one,” said Malcolm Robinson, owner of Houston Ticket Brokers , where tickets are going for more than $8,000.

For this year’s event, he said, “billionaires are going to have trouble parking their planes.”

Want to join this crowd? Let’s run the numbers.

Say you live in Houston and want to arrive in Las Vegas on Saturday, Feb. 10, the day before the big game, and leave on Monday, Feb. 12, the next day. You’re not alone; carriers like American Airlines , Southwest Airlines and United Airlines have added domestic flights to meet demand. That hasn’t helped the cost: Airfare is still significantly costlier than a normal weekend to Las Vegas — about 112 percent higher compared with the same weekend last year, according to data from Priceline, an online travel agency.

On Tuesday, an online search showed that one of the cheapest flights available from Houston was a nondirect, round-trip ticket from George Bush Intercontinental Airport on Spirit Airlines to Harry Reid Airport, for $563 (including taxes, but without luggage).

Though Las Vegas does not lack hotel rooms — it has some 151,000 , according to the city’s Convention and Visitors Authority — bookings and prices have also surged. The booking website Trivago reports a 140 percent increase in Vegas hotel prices for February, compared with the same month last year, and Priceline estimates the average cost of one night in a Vegas hotel room is $376 — which would come out to $752.

However, a booking found on Tuesday for two nights in an Extended Stay America hotel room, nearly two and half miles from the Las Vegas Strip, started at $498.

Using a ride-hailing app to get to and from the airports in Houston and Las Vegas could cost about $40 each way, according to the Uber estimator tool. Realistically, those prices will be surging in Las Vegas, so round up to $200 (if you’re lucky). And you’ll need to get from your Extended Stay room to the stadium and back, during peak surge — that could bring all ground transportation costs to a minimum of around $300.

You have to eat, and some local websites estimate — based on a visitor-profile report compiled in 2021 for the Convention and Visitors Authority — that tourists pay about $125 per day to eat at midrange restaurants, so tack on an additional $250.

Now, about that ticket …

Add it up, and your game day weekend is clocking in at $1,611 for one of the cheapest travel itineraries possible. And this excludes alcohol, gambling and the actual game ticket.

Mr. Robinson, of Houston Ticket Brokers , said that part of the reason for the high ticket prices is how the stadium’s seating is organized. “Allegiant Stadium has a lot of V.I.P. areas — tables on the field, suites, club areas — so they all fetch a premium, and that makes it a little different from other Super Bowls. Cheap seats just weren’t created in that stadium.”

And the appeal of the host city itself may also factor in the surging ticket costs.

“People often travel to Vegas for the Super Bowl — even when the Super Bowl isn’t in Vegas — just to gamble and watch the game,” he said. “Las Vegas is a destination for the Super Bowl every year.”

Other ticket sellers are seeing a similar jump. A Tuesday search on Ticketmaster for the cheapest single ticket turned up a $6,800 seat. Don’t forget the fees — after a humble $3 processing fee and an extraordinary $1,445 service fee, the total price is $8,248.

On TickPick , an online ticket marketplace, the average purchase price of Super Bowl tickets listed is $9,835 after fees, 70 percent more expensive than last year’s average price of $5,795. The largest purchase thus far on TickPick was for six tickets (in Section 336) for $14,810 each, or $88,860 total, according to the company.

“We expect transaction activity to increase further as the week progresses,” said Brett Goldberg, co-chief executive at TickPick. “When you bring one of the biggest sporting events in the U.S. to one of its most iconic cities, it’s ultimately going to have an impact on ticket prices regardless of who is playing.”

Add it up, and regardless of how much money a traveler saves staying off the Strip, a two-night trip to Super Bowl LVIII could cost a minimum of about $9,859 for one person. Something to chew on as you microwave that popcorn and sit back on your couch to watch the big game — from home.

Super Bowl ticket prices can cost up to $51,000, but we found the cheapest seats cost a fraction of that

This is shaping up to be the most expensive Super Bowl yet, with some astronomical prices making headlines since the AFC and NFC championship games wrapped up. We've been scouring official reseller sites and have seen Super Bowl ticket prices reach as high as $51,030, and you might see them go even higher the closer we get to Sunday's game. Until resellers start to lose their nerve the closer we get to kickoff, that is.

On the plus side, tickets are all digital now, so you really could pick one up right before kickoff at 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET, as there's no need to wait for any physical delivery.

If you don't have $51k on hand, we've actually seen there are still a lot of tickets available for way less than that. As low as $5,743 at the time of writing. Hey, we never said they were cheap.

  • Today's Super Bowl ticket prices at StubHub | Vividseats | SeatGeek

We've been tracking the prices all week in our guide on how to buy Super Bowl tickets , and the cheapest seats have sadly been going up in price all week. And as these cheap seats, often up in the nosebleeds, thin out, fans have fewer options except for ones approaching and blowing way past the $10,000 mark.

Gargantuan amounts of money, especially when there are multiple options for free Super Bowl live streams . Ok, maybe we're a bit thriftier than your average hardcore NFL fan, or perhaps we'd prefer blowing all that cash on a Super Bowl TV deal on a model so big we can pretend we're actually there.

Latest reseller Super Bowl ticket prices

StubHub , at the time of writing, still has 481 listings available, down from 595 yesterday. Prices start at $6,254 but climb all the way up to $51,030. These are the prices per ticket when bought in a pair.

Vividseats doesn't say how many listings it has, but it seems like a smaller selection, with less variety regarding views around the stadium. But it is cheaper in range, starting at $5,743 and ending at $23,522.

SeatGeek is undoubtedly one to watch, too, as it still has 417 listings. Prices start at $6,278 each in a pair and climb to a whopping $37,331.

If you're already in Las Vegas or planning on squeezing as much entertainment as possible while you're there, you could also treat yourself to a show on Saturday night. Take a look at the latest prices for Adele tickets at Caesars Palace or U2 Sphere tickets at the new mind-blowing venue. Outside of Vegas, you could probably see all of the acts below combined for the price of one Super Bowl ticket.

How to travel to Las Vegas for the Super Bowl

Las Vegas is one of the most popular travel locations for tourists in the world, so even with the Super Bowl coming to town, there is no shortage of hotels, Airbnbs, and flights to Sin City. Like with the tickets, though, the longer you leave it, the more expensive things could get, and you might be situated further away than you originally planned.

We've picked out a few travel and accommodation options to help you plan your trip after you've sorted your Super Bowl tickets. Seriously, get those locked in before making any travel plans whatsoever.

3 reviews of Tickets & Tours "Anyone looking for discount tickets should avoid those blue booths all over Las Vegas (airport and in hotels). I purchased tickets from them that they claimed were discounted 30%. However, when I went to pick up the tickets, the tickets cost $40.00 less than they charged. I should have just purchased them from the box office.
