What's New for 2020?

Ford has added the King Ranch trim to the Expedition for 2020, which comes loaded with luxury items such as power-retractable running boards, 22-inch wheels, premium Del Rio leather upholstery, and real wood trim. All Expedition models now come standard with Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system and the company's Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assistance features , which includes automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Range-topping Platinum models receive a new 22-inch wheel design and leather upholstery that covers more of the cabin.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The price of the 2020 Ford Expedition / Expedition Max starts at $54,505 and goes up to $75,630 depending on the trim and options.

We'd exercise caution when shopping for an Expedition, as the more you spend the more the Expedition disappoints. The XLT model with the 202A package offers luxuries such as a foot-activated liftgate, remote start, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. We would make one suggestion in the name of vanity: Swap the standard 18-inch wheels to a set of more attractive (and proportionally appropriate) 20-inch rollers to keep the Expedition XLT from looking too bargain-basement.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Expediting the Expedition is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 and responsive 10-speed automatic transmission that pair with rear- or all-wheel drive. The XLT and Limited models have a 375-hp version of the V-6, but on the top-tier Platinum it's tuned for 400 horsepower. While we haven't tested the base engine, it won't be any quicker than the 400-hp version we sampled on the short- and long-wheelbase models. All Expeditions employ an independent rear suspension that provides better ride and handling than the live-axle setups on Chevrolet and GMC alternatives. While passengers are comforted by its soft ride, the driver is penalized by ungainly handling and imprecise steering feel. Those who can afford the top-of-the-line Expedition owe it to themselves to check out the 10Best-winning Mercedes-Benz GLS-class for the best overall driving experience.

Towing and Payload Capacity

The Expedition can tow up to 9300 pounds, 700 pounds more than the strongest Chevrolet Tahoe . The longer Expedition Max is capped at 9000 pounds—still more than every rival.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

This class of hefty haulers certainly doesn't help preserve fossil fuels. Ford claims its EcoBoost engine (a twin-turbocharged V-6) is more efficient than V-8s, but the Expedition doesn't deliver on that promise. The rear-drive Expedition is rated by the EPA at 17 mpg city and 24 highway; the all-wheel-drive version drops to 22 highway. Both the regular-length Expedition and the longer Expedition Max delivered 20 mpg on our 200-mile highway fuel-economy route. While the 420-hp Yukon Denali fell short, too, it matched the Ford's real-world results.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The Expedition's interior has a square dashboard sporting large air vents and materials that improve with the trim level. Every Expedition also has 15 cupholders and a power-folding third-row seat. Our Platinum test vehicle featured niceties not available on lesser trims such as multicontour front seats with a massage function, leather door-trim accents, real wood on the center console, and a steering wheel wrapped in premium leather. While it is otherwise splendid inside, the cabin's cheap-looking plastics are flagrant fouls and unacceptable for the price. Both Expedition models have spacious interiors and—unlike most rivals—a third row that won't torture adults. While a three-seat bench is standard for the second row, a pair of captain's chairs is optional. With three rows of seats and two lengthy body styles, the Expedition and Expedition Max were made to haul people and property—lots of people and property. While we only tested the extended version, it had competitive carry-on capacity and unbeatable interior cubby storage. Every model has a power-folding third row that can be controlled from the cargo area or back seats. Both second and third rows fold completely flat for a level floor, making it easier to load cargo.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Expedition is an infotainment sanctuary, with numerous connectivity options and lots of available features. An 8.0-inch Sync 3 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 4G LTE mobile hotspot is standard; navigation plus real-time traffic and weather cost extra. A rear-seat entertainment system is available, but only on the Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum trims.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

Overall safety rating (nhtsa).

The Expedition earned a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, but it hasn't been evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. However, it has all the latest driver-assistance tech , including automated emergency braking as standard. Key safety features include:

• Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
• Available lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning
• Available adaptive cruise control

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Ford provides the Expedition with a solid warranty that even beats Mercedes-Benz with longer powertrain protection. However, the Expedition isn't available with complimentary scheduled maintenance.

• Powertrain warranty covers 5 years or 60,000 miles

HD Truck-Based 2025 Ford Excursion SUV is Almost Here

The comeback of the largest SUV ever is always a hot topic. There are rumors ever since the Excursion was discontinued in 2006. Sometimes those speculations were louder, such as now. The 2025 Ford Excursion will be based on the refreshed Super Duty truck lineup. This is something unique since most other truck-based SUVs are taking platforms from half-ton models. This time, a heavy-duty vehicle underpins the SUV.

Ford updated the Super Duty lineup. You will find F-250, F-350 and F-450 models there. The 2025 Ford Excursion is going to be based on the Series 2 truck. It makes the SUV unique since it won’t have any competition. No other carmaker ever tried this combo. What’s more interesting, we get no signals from other companies about their plans to build an HD SUV. The Excursion will have a clear path to all the interested buyers.

Rumors about the big rig sparked again when Ford introduced a 7.3-liter V8 engine. So-called Godzilla can suit perfectly into the Excursion’s powertrain room.

2025 Ford Excursion Best Engine Options

As a heavy-duty SUV, the 2025 Ford Excursion is going to need a lot of power. That is why only V8 engines are eligible options. Ford is ready for this challenge. They have plenty of eight-cylinder mills so the Blue Oval doesn’t have to consider a 5.0-liter unit.

To find inspiration, all we need to do is to check the drivetrain lineup of the F-250 truck . The base solution is a big 6.8-liter mill with 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. Experts assume Ford won’t offer it. Instead, the Godzilla will lay under the hood. It is a 7.3-liter V8 mill recently launched, and it produces 435 horsepower. That would be more than enough, even for the heavy-duty SUV.

Nevertheless, the best power source would be a turbodiesel. A 6.7-liter Powerstroke unit can do up to 1,200 hp. However, the F-250 truck is not exploiting the maximum potential. The SUV will probably get significantly less, since it doesn’t require high-end towing capacity numbers. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission to handle 450 hp. The drivetrain can do 500 hp on the high-output version of the F-350 and F-450 trucks.

There were no similar vehicles in the past, besides the old Excursion. If Ford launches the new heavy-duty SUV, it can trigger other carmakers to do the same. For example, Ram Ramcharger is one of the options. General Motors is not introducing its model, but they have a suitable platform for Silverado 2500 and 3500 models. Even Toyota is considering a heavy-duty truck, which can be soon converted to an SUV if American models start rolling.

Tremor, King Ranch, Raptor

There will be plenty of options available for the new SUV. The company is going to start like for most of the big rigs – either with the XL or the XLT trim level. The mid-range offer includes Platinum and probably some light off-road package. Above that are premium options with the King Ranch, Limited, or even the Raptor model. The off-road package is possible for the SUV, but there are slim chances of this to happen. Of course, some unique grade is also a good way to draw more attention.

2025 Ford Excursion Release Date and Conclusion

Since the prototypes are not on the streets, the heavy-duty SUV is definitely not going to be the 2024 YM. Engineers and designers have extra time to create the perfect build for the following season. When the creation is close to the end, Ford will start advertising the SUV. Expect it in the second half of 2024.

Welcome to Wembley! Excursions™ Show took place at the home  of English  Football and the first Excursions show.   Wembley just had its centenary  year in 2023 and the venue  of many iconic events through the decades hosted our  50th anniversary show that was held inside the Great Hall.

Eurovision Winner, pop star, TV presenter, and charitable fundraiser Cheryl Baker opened  the show and took pictures with visitors and met with many of our exhibitors on the day . Plus, guests enjoyed a medley from Brent Youth Pop  Orchestra, and a exceptional themed exhibit based on Mamma Mia the smash hit musical, and a  behind-the-scenes tours of Wembley Sta d iu m including views of the pitch. 

As the longest-running domestic group travel show, Excursions firmly established itself as a must-attend event in the group travel calendar. The show had inspired and connected the group travel market for almost half a century celebrated it's 50th anniversary in January 2024!

A firm favorite in the group travel calendar, the show’s 50th anniversary event took place on Saturday 27th January 2024 at the iconic home of England Football and the venue of the very first Excursions Show.  Over the decades Excursions™ has continually evolved to include fam trips, theatrical show openers, special feature areas, exhibitor presentations, VIP coach arrivals, food & drink tastings, and much more whilst still maintaining its hugely popular and unique destination-based layout.

This long-standing exhibition is an unrivalled opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their group product to qualified group travel organizers, coaches and tour operators and with a higher level of tailoring in the group travel market than any other sector. 

Exhibitors and visitors to Excursions 2024 viewed a bigger, bolder show incorporating not only the show’s most popular elements but also additional highlights including the return of industry seminars, an extra special private coach arrivals area and an extended pre- and post-show fam trip program.

We spent our holidays in Russia in May,organisation was on a very high level. Everything was great especially our trip to Peterhof. We'd like to thank our guide Irina for very interesting excursions in St.Petersburg. Next year we are planning to visit Moscow with Russian Guide Service.

We-a ex-pat in Moscow, my wife and my biz. partner and his wife were squired arounf frigid Moscow this last weekend by Victoria Smirnova. We took a 6 hour tour where she drove us around in here own car. It was a terrific time by all.Victoria{"Vika"} is one smart and charming person/guide. Yes, she knows all the facts, details, history of the sites-but adds in her personal opinions, feelings thoughts, etc- which gives the place a three dimensional perspective, She's opinionated and surprisingly smarter than the average propaganda infused 'robot'. As an ex-pat , having lived here for many years, I especially appreciated her cerebral talents. My wife a full Russian felt the same way, as did our foreign friends. We all had a great time, considering how cold and miserable Moscow was these last few days. Yes, hire her-you'll have no regrets for engaging this ;warm', smart and entertaining person.

We are a late mlddle- age couple who hired " Bridge to Moscow " as our private guides for 4 days .Both Anna and Michael where very knowledgeable and catered to all our interests ( history, culture, architecture, art and music) .
