Cinderella's Tom Keifer, L.A. Guns & Faster Pussycat Announce 2022 U.S. Tour

Tom Keifer has announced a 2022 U.S. Tour with veteran rock bands L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat , dubbed the "Sonic Slam" tour.

"#keiferband is amped for the 'Sonic Slam' 2022 tour with our friends L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat! Get ready for a 100 percent live, raucous, loud and slammin' rock show," the Cinderella frontman and songwriter said. "Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2022."

"Faster Pussycat has toured with Tom's band and L.A. Guns before but never all of us together," said Faster Pussycat singer Taime Downe . "The shows were always amazing, and you can expect the same this summer. There's going to be three decades of friendship and great music all under one roof. Sonic Slam is going to be a blast."

L.A. Guns' Tracii Guns added, "I'm excited L.A. Guns will be heading out on the road with Tom Keifer. We are really looking forward to touring again."

The U.S. trek will kick off on June 1 in Liverpool, New York, and runs through July 16 in Pickerington, Ohio.

If you are looking for a great eighties metal hair band live show then Cinderella is sure to deliver the goods. The original band members are still in the band all these years later and that is a monumental task for any band to remain together since the early eighties.

Often Cinderella tours with other eighties bands such as Poison and Skid Row. I recently saw Cinderella on the Monsters of Rock Cruise in 2013 and they absolutely rocked that boat and put on an amazing show. They may not have as much hair as they did in the eighties but thier musicianship is superb and they played all their hits note perfect. It was so great to hear songs like "Save Me", "Gypsy Road", "Nobody's Fool" and "You Don't Know What You Got" played live again. They also play new songs because they are still writing great music and not relying on the old stuff just to make a few bucks.

Cinderella plays live today just as well and just as hard as they did back in the eighties and the nineties and their sound live is absolutely amazing. Couple the great live sound with an awesome light show and some special effects and you will have a great concert experience and this is a band that never fails to deliver.

I saw them in Dallas, Fall 2019. I fell in love! I will travel far to see them again after this Coronavirus shut in is over. I look forward to the next concert!

This summer, the Tom Keifer Band , L.A. Guns , and Faster Pussycat will head out on the road together on the Sonic Slam Tour, bringing ’80s glam metal to venues like Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe on Friday, June 10.

“Tom Keifer Band is amped for the Sonic Slam 2022 Tour with our friends L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat! Get ready for a 100 percent live, raucous, loud, and slammin’ rock show,” the vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter for Cinderella said. “Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2022.”

L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns agreed. “I’m excited L.A. Guns will be heading out on the road with Tom Keifer. We are really looking forward to touring again.”

Faster Pussycat vocalist Taime Downe added, “Faster Pussycat has toured with Tom’s band and L.A. Guns before, but never all of us together. The shows were always amazing, and you can expect the same this summer. There’s going to be three decades of friendship and great music all under one roof – Sonic Slam is going to be a blast!”

Doors at Penn’s Peak (325 Maury Rd., Jim Thorpe) open at 7 p.m., and the music starts at 8 p.m.

Tickets, which are $35 in advance or $40 the day of the show, are on sale now via ticketmaster.com , the Penn’s Peak box office, and at Roadies Restaurant and Bar (325 Maury Rd., Jim Thorpe). Box office and Roadies Restaurant ticket sales are walk-up only; no phone orders.

Their latest studio album, “Rise,” was released on Sept. 13, 2019 on Cleopatra Records and features the rousing, rollicking rock singles “The Death of Me” and “Hype.” Both singles landed in the Billboard Mainstream Rock Top 40, and the album hit the Billboard Top 10 Hard Rock Sales chart. Keifer’s deep-seated roots shine through to the very core on “Rise,” something that was embedded at the very heart of his music created during the multi-platinum Cinderella days.

L.A. Guns was formed in 1983 and has sold over six million records, including 1988’s “L.A. Guns” and 1990’s “Cocked and Loaded,” which were both certified gold. The latter contained the hit single “Ballad of Jayne” that went to No. 33 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and No. 25 on the Mainstream Rock charts.

From the mid-90s to the mid 2000s, L.A. Guns continued to tour and release new music. Following their successful performance at SiriusXM’s Hair Nation Festival in 2016, they went into the studio to record the critically acclaimed album “The Missing Peace,” which was the highest-selling release for Frontiers Music in 2017. Their 12th record, “The Devil You Know,” was released in 2019 to the same critical acclaim.

2021 brought the release of their latest album, “Checkered Past.” Since reuniting, guitarist Tracii Guns and vocalist Phil Lewis continue to tour around the world with L.A. Guns, which currently includes Shane Fitzgibbon (drums), Johnny Martin (bass), and Ace Von Johnson (guitar).

Faster Pussycat rose from the depths of the mid-’80s Hollywood rock scene, taking the Sunset Strip by storm with a sound that wasn’t glam and wasn’t punk, but blistered somewhere in between. With an attitude and swagger all its own, their self-titled debut featured the instant classics “Babylon,” “Bathroom Wall,” “Cathouse,” and “Don’t Change That Song,” and its follow-up, “Wake Me When It’s Over,” climbed even higher with the radio hit “House of Pain,” “Poison Ivy,” and “Where There’s a Whip There’s a Way.”

Despite their successes, Faster defied the mainstream mold and always followed frontman Taime Downe’s underground sensibilities. The gold and platinum records are nice, but he considers his greatest accomplishment to be longevity.

“The only number that really matters to me is the number 35. Three and half decades later, Faster Pussycat are still rocking, and it feels as fresh as it did in 1986.”

Look no further than their 2021 releases “Nola” and the Johnny Thunders cover “Pirate Love” – Faster Pussycat is as virile and tenacious as ever, and Downe, bassist Danny Nordahl, drummer Chad Stewart, and guitarists Sam “Bam” Koltun and Ronnie Simmons wouldn’t have it any other way.

Cinderella front man Tom Keifer 's solo band is teaming up with two other glam-metal groups that also emerged during the 1980s -- L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat -- for a 2022 trek dubbed the Sonic Slam Tour.

Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, L.A. Guns & Faster Pussycat Announce 2022 U.S. Tour

Tom Keifer has announced a 2022 U.S. Tour with veteran rock bands L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat , dubbed the “Sonic Slam” tour.

“#keiferband is amped for the ‘Sonic Slam’ 2022 tour with our friends L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat! Get ready for a 100 percent live, raucous, loud and slammin’ rock show,” the Cinderella frontman and songwriter said. “Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2022.”

“Faster Pussycat has toured with Tom’s band and L.A. Guns before but never all of us together,” said Faster Pussycat singer Taime Downe . “The shows were always amazing, and you can expect the same this summer. There’s going to be three decades of friendship and great music all under one roof. Sonic Slam is going to be a blast.”

L.A. Guns’ Tracii Guns added, “I’m excited L.A. Guns will be heading out on the road with Tom Keifer. We are really looking forward to touring again.”

The U.S. trek will kick off on June 1 in Liverpool, New York, and runs through July 16 in Pickerington, Ohio.

Watch TOM KEIFER Perform CINDERELLA Classics In Glenside, Pennsylvania During 'Live/Loud' 2023 Tour

In a recent interview with the WHMH FM Rockin' 101 radio station, Keifer , who is currently on the road with his solo band, #KEIFERBAND , was asked how the touring aspect of the music industry has changed in the 40 years since he formed the veteran rock act. He responded: "People ask me that a lot, and, of course, the music industry has changed, but from a touring standpoint, it hasn't much. We get the band on the bus and we head out and we do shows, and from that standpoint, it feels very much the same."

He continued: "I feel incredibly grateful to be able to still go out and have all the fans turn out; they sing all the songs. Touring is my favorite part of the business anyway — playing live and getting that kind of in-the-moment reaction and exchange with the crowd. So that part hasn't changed as much as other parts of the industry. And fortunately, that's always been my favorite part, so…"

Last month, #KEIFERBAND launched the "Live/Loud" 2023 tour with WINGER and John Corabi .

#KEIFERBAND — which is rounded out by Savannah Keifer , Tony Higbee , Billy Mercer , Kendra Chantelle , Jarred Pope and Kory Myers — has released two critically acclaimed solo albums so far, 2013's "The Way Life Goes" and 2019's "Rise" .

During an appearance on a recent episode of SiriusXM 's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" , Tom was asked if he has commenced work on the follow-up to "Rise" . He responded: "I haven't recorded anything [new]. Some song ideas are starting to bubble.

"The pandemic kind of threw a wrench in everything, obviously," he explained. "We were in the middle of working 'Rise' ; we were on the second single, 'Hype' , and were about to go out on that 'Big Rock Summer Tour' [with RATT , SKID ROW and SLAUGHTER ]. And 'Hype' was kind of moving up the charts, and then everything got shut down. All the creative juices, all the energy during that couple of years just kind of… I know some people got creative; some people didn't. I didn't. [ Laughs ] So, it's starting to come back now. I think getting back out on the road last year kind of ignited that spark again. But, yeah, we definitely wanna do a follow-up to it.

"I would say records come in their time; I don't like to rush them," Keifer added. "But, yeah, there will for sure be a follow-up. And that antenna is starting to go up and song ideas are starting to kind of come in. Yeah, it's coming."

According to Tom , the pandemic-related break from touring came just at the right time. "I kind of needed it," he said. "We toured so much with this band leading right up to the last tour, right before the pandemic. We were actually out early that year, in 2020, 'cause the 'Rise' tour was still kind of continuing; we were still working the record. So it was 10 years straight for me — or not quite 10 years at that point. But there were three CINDERELLA tours prior to that. So I'd been on the road, like, 12 years straight. So I was crispy by the time that pandemic hit. None of us wanted that forced on us, obviously, but I guess it forced me to take a break, which I probably needed."

Although CINDERELLA hasn't released a new studio album since 1994's "Still Climbing" , the band started playing sporadic shows again in 2010 but has been largely inactive for the last few years while Keifer focused on his solo career.

In March 2022, Keifer said that he was "not prepared" for the 2021 passing of CINDERELLA guitarist Jeff LaBar . Jeff was found dead by his wife in July 2021 inside his apartment in Nashville. He was 58 years old.
