World Dream Balcony Deluxe Stateroom Review (With Bathtub)

World dream super seacation cruise to nowhere.

The World Dream Super Seacation emphasizes on 100% fresh air throughout the ship under STB’s CruiseSafe certification . This doesn’t mean that World Dream does not operate without air-conditioning, but it’s more on fresh air used throughout the ship rather than recycled air. Nevertheless, what better way to get 100% fresh air than to get a balcony in my room? For this trip, I had the privilege to try out the Balcony Deluxe Stateroom .

dream cruise room pictures

Balcony Deluxe Stateroom

dream cruise room pictures

World Dream’s Balcony Deluxe Staterooms are at least 22 square meters big laid out elongated from the corridor to the balcony. These are available from Deck 8 through to Deck 15, and are mostly clustered around the middle of the ship.

dream cruise room pictures

The flat-screen TV in the room greets me by name when I switch it on.

dream cruise room pictures

The Balcony Deluxe Stateroom can also be triple or quadruple sharing. Each cabin would have a single or double sofa bed, and for quad-sharing staterooms, there would also be a ceiling Pullman bed.

dream cruise room pictures

The sofa bed flips open like this when there’s a third person in the room.

dream cruise room pictures

Here’s the space you get when the sofa bed is opened up.

dream cruise room pictures

The closet has slippers, a laundry bag for laundry service, and an in-room safe.

dream cruise room pictures

Bedding for the sofa bed is stored here.

dream cruise room pictures

Ample hangers are available inside the closet.

dream cruise room pictures

There is a table across from the sofa bed where most room amenities are.

dream cruise room pictures

There is a coffee and tea making station, with the kettle’s socket integrated with the station like a dock.

dream cruise room pictures

2 bottles of mineral water are provided in the room. Additional bottles are chargeable, but remember that the tap water in the cabin is drinkable, so just refill it from there. Alternatively, head up to Deck 16 to The Lido for 24 hour free snacks and drinks.

dream cruise room pictures

There is also a room service menu and a mini bar package, since the mini bar comes empty. But you really should be dining at restaurants for the cruise experience in my opinion. Also, head up to Deck 16 to The Lido for 24 hour free snacks and drinks.

dream cruise room pictures

Two masks are also provided in the stateroom.

dream cruise room pictures

The balcony consists of two seats with a side table. Smoking is permitted on the balcony , but remember to close the doors.

Fun fact: The cabin air-conditioning automatically switches off when you open the balcony door. You have to switch the aircon back on again after you return to the cabin from the balcony.

Balcony Deluxe Stateroom Toilet and Bathroom

dream cruise room pictures

The attached toilet in the Balcony Deluxe Stateroom is very spacious.

dream cruise room pictures

There is a double sink in the toilet.

dream cruise room pictures

Toiletries are placed on the counter above the sink.

dream cruise room pictures

There is also a generic 3-in-1 soap in the shower and bathtub .

dream cruise room pictures

The key difference between the Balcony Deluxe Stateroom and Balcony Stateroom is the availability of the bathtub . The Balcony Stateroom which most passengers get from upgrade promotions come with a standing shower without a bathtub.

dream cruise room pictures

The bathtub in the Balcony Deluxe Stateroom.

dream cruise room pictures

Towels are hung by the side rack.

dream cruise room pictures

The water from the tap is drinkable.

Charging Power Sockets

dream cruise room pictures

By the bed side, there are both USB and 3-pin power sockets available.

Pro-tip: The 3-pin socket charges up your phone and devices faster than the USB socket, so use that if you need a faster day charge. If you are charging your devices overnight, both sockets are fine.

Tracking the Cruising Path

dream cruise room pictures

The TV features the route of the World Dream cruise to nowhere.

dream cruise room pictures

The World Dream cruise to nowhere sends you off to the waters of West Malaysia along the Straits of Malacca to float around.

dream cruise room pictures

And about 2 hours since departure from Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore, hello Malaysia .

Overall, I had a great stay inside the Balcony Deluxe Stateroom which was sufficiently spacious, and with fresh air from the sea on the balcony allowing me to see Malaysia and Indonesia from a distance.

It's one thing to be fun, but it's another thing to be first. Carnival Dream was at the forefront of a recent wave of amazingly innovative and fun Carnival ships. As the genesis of the Dream class, Carnival Dream set the direction for the ships that followed in her footsteps — first Carnival Magic and then Carnival Breeze. But back to Carnival Dream: the ship itself is a unique experience with the way-fun RedFrog Rum Bar ® and the very cool BlueIguana Tequila Bar ™ . Get your appetite ready, because you're gonna need it. Carnival Dream features two dual-level dining rooms, a gourmet steakhouse and dedicated sushi spot Bonsai Sushi ™ . It's also got a full menu of our latest and greatest casual spots for a bite: BlueIguana Cantina ™ , Pizzeria del Capitano, Guy's Burger Joint ™ and Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse ™ . (That's Guy as in Guy Fieri, by the way — so you know the food's delish.) Carnival Dream also features the borderline-magical Alchemy Bar ® and Ocean Plaza, which combines tasty treats with perhaps even tastier entertainment. Entertainment options are all up and down the ship, and so is soaking-wet fun, from the heart-racing waterslide action at Carnival WaterWorks ™ to the soul-soothing Thalassotherapy pool at the Cloud 9 Spa ™ . Despite its name, Carnival Dream is definitely a reality. Can't believe it? Pinch yourself... and book your dream cruise today.

Whether you're warming up for your spa appointment or winding down after your treatment, there's no better place to do it than on your Cloud 9 Spa Balcony. Breathing is important — take the ocean breeze in, then let it out — you're already getting the hang of the whole spa thing!

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Aft-View Extended Balcony staterooms feature a larger balcony for more lounge-around room, more kick-back space; not to even mention some of the best stern-side views you'll find anywhere. Get ready to relax as you gaze upon Carnival Dream's gentle wake from your spacious balcony.

Balcony (Large Balcony)

We designed Carnival Dream Balcony staterooms for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, and this stateroom features a balcony that's even wider than our standard balcony. Enjoy the extra outdoor space, along with all the standard Carnival stateroom amenities.

Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you're looking to cruise aboard Carnival Dream. Any time you're in your room, you're just steps away from your own personal outdoor oasis, featuring the sort of sea view you can also feel.

Cove Balcony

Love the sea? Carnival Dream's Cove Balcony staterooms are the best way to see the sea — these rooms get you close to the waterline, and feature balconies that let you make the most of your location. Enjoy things from a whole new perspective: one amazing up-close view of the wake and seafoam as the ship cruises along.

Grand Suite

A Grand Suite aboard Carnival Dream features even more space than the standard suite — plenty of room in your room! This stateroom is loaded for an unparalleled experience: VIP check-in, a huge balcony, and even a convenient dressing area with vanity.

Amenities exclusive to suites:

  • Priority check-in and boarding
  • Priority Main Dining Room time assignment
  • Priority debarkation at homeport, and ports of call requiring a water shuttle or with arrival times later than 9:30 Am
  • Two large bottles of water
  • Pillow-top mattress

Cloud 9 Spa Suite

A Cloud 9 Spa Suite is the ultimate in both stateroom and spa accommodations. There's room for you and your things — with a large room and balcony — and a walk-in closet. The soothing in-room whirlpool tub will help you stay relaxed after your relaxing spa treatment. And like all suites, a Cloud 9 Spa Suite features VIP check-in, which lets you easily get right up to your amazing stateroom.

Plus, all suites include:

Ocean Suite

A Carnival Dream suite is the ultimate way to cruise. With more space for stretching out indoors, plus a large balcony for kicking back outdoors, try an Ocean Suite to experience private, luxurious relaxation. Ocean Suites also include VIP check-in, walk-in closet and bathroom with whirlpool tub.

Junior Suite (Obstructed View)

As you step into a Junior Suite aboard Carnival Dream, you can't help but feel that you're stepping into full-size luxury in a smaller package. Featuring a standard-size balcony, in a Carnival Dream Junior Suite you'll find everything else there is to love about a suite, including VIP check-in, a walk-in closet; and even a whirlpool tub for relaxing. (Note that rooms of this type have obstructed views.)

A Complete Guide to Disney Dream Cruise Ship Rooms

By Samantha Kendall Leave a Comment

There are plenty of ways to have your perfect Disney vacation.

dream cruise room pictures

The atrium of the Disney Dream

For some, it might be heading to Disney World. For others, Disneyland is the ticket. But if your perfect Disney vacation includes traveling to different destinations and hanging poolside — then setting sail with the Disney Cruise Line might be for you! We recently sailed on the Disney Dream and have been bringing you reviews , and if you’re thinking about sailing on this ship you’re in luck! We’re taking a look at all the different categories of staterooms on the Disney Dream to help you plan your trip!

There are four different types of staterooms on Disney Cruise Line ships, including the Disney Dream. Those are Concierge, Oceanview with Verandah, Oceanview, and Inside . Each room category comes at a different price point, and each category is equipped with different features and amenities. Let’s see what might be best for your trip!

As the name might imply, the Concierge Suites feature the most luxurious and spacious accommodations on the Disney Dream. They can sleep parties of 5 to 7 guests and all feature verandahs for a bit of breathing room. Not only that, but you’ll also have the personal attention of a dedicated Concierge Service when you stay in one of the suites.

dream cruise room pictures

In addition to the suites, there are also Concierge Family Oceanview Staterooms with Verandahs . These aren’t quite as spacious as the suites, but they are roomier than normal staterooms and come with the same Concierge Services — including Pre-Arrival Services. You’ll also have access to the Concierge Lounge, with complimentary food and nonalcoholic drinks.

dream cruise room pictures

Concierge Suites and Staterooms come with priority check-in and a dedicated check-in station — plus there will be a private welcome session. Depending on where you’re sailing and how many nights your cruise is, a Concierge Suite or Room on the Disney Dream could cost you more. For example, a summer 2022 3-night Bahamian cruise was  $5,128 , but a 5-night Western Caribbean cruise was  $9,142.

dream cruise room pictures

That’s quite a big price tag, but Concierge Level rooms come with the most luxurious amenities onboard the Dream, and you can’t beat the private lounges, sun deck, and dedicated staff. You’ll just have to decide if that’s worth the cost!

Ultimate Guide To Disney Cruise Line 2023

Oceanview with verandah.

There are two types of Oceanview Staterooms, but only one category features verandahs or balconies. These rooms are pretty spacious, though they are only one room technically unlike the Concierge Suites. Oceanview Verandah rooms sleep 3 to 5 guests depending on the type of room.

dream cruise room pictures

Not only do you get a view to the ocean or outside world with these rooms, but you also have the added benefit of a decently sized verandah perfect for a glass of wine after putting the kids to bed or a warm cup of coffee in the morning. Though these rooms are spacious, they don’t come with the Concierge Services or dedicated check-in features. But, Oceanview Staterooms with Verandahs are the second most expensive type of room on the Disney Dream.

dream cruise room pictures

Pretty spacious

Like most staterooms, the price for these rooms is entirely dependent upon where you’re sailing and how long your cruise will be. A 3-night cruise on the Disney Dream can start at around $1,459 , but a longer cruise could be priced more like  $4,051.

See Our FULL TOUR of an Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah on the Disney Wish

Oceanview Staterooms are pretty much identical to the Oceanview Staterooms with Verandahs, though they can be smaller (and obviously also don’t have verandahs!). Instead of a balcony, there is a porthole with “stunning ocean views” for guests to enjoy.

dream cruise room pictures

Typically, Oceanview Staterooms sleep 3 to 4 guests and occasionally these rooms feature two large portholes ! You’ll find a queen bed, sleeper sofa, and sometimes an upper-berth pulldown bed . Keep in mind that depending on which stateroom and which deck you’re in, you might have an obstructed porthole view.

dream cruise room pictures

If you don’t need the access to outside via the verandah, this could be a good option if you’re trying to save a little bit of money . You still get ocean views and natural light, and these rooms can be decently roomy if you don’t plan on spending too much time in them. An Oceanview Stateroom summer 2022 3-night Bahamian cruise on the Disney Dream started at  $1,387,  but the same room type started at  $4,562  on a 5-night Western Caribbean cruise, depending on which month you sailed.

If having a balcony or ocean view isn’t important to you, an Inside Stateroom might be just the thing . These rooms are located on the interior of the ship, meaning they have no outside walls or windows — and no natural light . There are “Magical Portholes” that offer real-time views of the sea. Plus, you never know who or what might float by like your favorite Disney character or a pirate ship.

dream cruise room pictures

Inside Staterooms on the Disney Dream sleep 3 to 4 guests , and feature a queen bed, sleeper sofa, or upper-berth pulldown bed . These are the smallest rooms on the ship, so even though they technically can sleep up to four, they’re not all that roomy if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room.

dream cruise room pictures

For those adventurous types or travelers who just want a place to rest their head and don’t care how big the room is, an Inside Stateroom definitely offers the most bang for your buck. Larger families or those who need just a bit of personal space might not be that comfortable in these rooms . These are the least expensive rooms on the Disney Dream — an Interior Stateroom summer 2022 3-night Bahamian cruise started at $1,357 and a 5-night Western Caribbean cruise Interior Stateroom began at  $4,332  depending on the month.

dream cruise room pictures

Keep in mind that with all these stateroom categories, there are even more different types of rooms including Deluxe, Family, and Handicap Accessible . What’s best for one family or travel group might not be what’s best for you — so make sure you take all these factors into account when planning your cruise on the Disney Dream!

Disney Dream Cabins

dream cruise room pictures

Disney has some of the largest standard cabins at sea, and it's amazing how far a few extra square feet will go for four people sharing the typically tight space of a cruise ship stateroom. Ample closet space and plentiful drawers (including an ottoman with room for storage inside), the option to eat room service without bumping elbows on the couch and raised beds with room enough to store a pair of medium-sized suitcases underneath will please even those not traveling with kids.

Disney Dream Staterooms Are Comfortable and Feature Great Family-Friendly Amenities

Disney Dream staterooms each have a 22-inch flat-screen TV, mini-fridge and safe. Some cabins also have combination alarm clocks/iPod docking stations.

Most standard Disney Dream cabins can sleep three or four via a pull-down bunk and single convertible couch. Look for the hidden Peter Pan-themed celestial mural hidden above top bunks.

One annoyance is that the main beds in each cabin are queens, but they don't convert into twins. That means if two people are traveling together as friends, they either have to sleep in the same bed, or one person has to sleep in a pull-down bunk or on the pull-out sofa bed.

Heavy room-dividing curtains are a godsend to parents stuck in the cabin with sleeping children. (The only downside is that the TV and fridge are on the kids' side.) Connecting doors adjoin many cabins; if you're cruising next to members of your travel party, you can request that balconies be opened up to connect, as well.

Twenty-five cabins across categories are wheelchair-accessible, including two suites.

Most rooms – except standard Inside and a few units in other categories – have a split bath setup. This simple but ingenious concept provides one room with a shower, small tub and sink, and another with a toilet and sink. Having two vanities is important, and it's nice to still be able to use the toilet if one of your travel companions is in the shower.

Also, while a bathtub is perfect for young children, the rounded tub bottom feels more slippery than the flat floors of typical cruise ship showers. The shower ceiling will also be a bit of a problem for taller cruisers. Two in-shower retractable clotheslines provide amble space for drying the swimsuits of a family of four. Toiletries include bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion.

As a fun aside, Pepe the King Prawn (of Muppets fame) now has his own shrimp-sized cabin aboard Disney Dream. You can find it on Deck 5, stateroom number 5148 1/2. (Tip: Dial cabin number 5148 from your stateroom phone, and Pepe will answer.)

The Disney Dream Verandah Room Is Only One of Many Offering Ocean Views

Unlike in most other cruise lines, all Disney Dream cabins have ocean views – at least technically. Those opting for an inside cabin can check out a nifty industry first: Magical Portholes. They're flat screens designed to look like portholes above the beds; they project a real-time view outside the ship by means of high-def cameras and a live video feed. Stare at the screen for long enough, and you might catch a dancing hippo or two.

All other cabin categories feature real windows or balconies offering ample ocean views. Exceptions are some Disney Dream Deluxe Oceanview staterooms with Verandah on decks 5 through 9, which have obstructed vistas.

All Disney Dream Rooms Sleep at Least 3 Passengers and Many Feature Balconies

Interior:  Inside cabins on the Disney Dream cruise ship are divided into two main sub-categories based on size. Standard insides start at 169 square feet, while deluxe insides are 204 square feet. They're found on Decks 2 and 5 through 10. All of the ship’s inside cabins feature Magic Portholes.

Deluxe Oceanview: Outside staterooms start at 204 square feet and are found on Decks 2 and 5 through 8. They can also sleep up to four, but the porthole is a real round window, rather than simply a virtual one.

Deluxe Family Oceanview staterooms, found on Decks 6 through 9, are a bit roomier at 241 square feet and can sleep up to five people. The portholes are larger and come with built-in seating.

Verandah:  These cabins, also known as Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms with Verandah on Disney Dream, are a roomy 246 square feet, including balcony, and are located on Decks 5 through 10. Veranda cabin balconies each feature two mesh-and-metal chairs and a small table, deck lights, railings covered in Plexiglas (or solid white walls) and childproof locks.

Disney Dream Category 7a staterooms (officially known as Deluxe Oceanview staterooms with Navigator Verandah) typically have a smaller balcony or one with an obstructed view. Most limited-view cabins are located on decks 5 through 9.

If your family group books connecting balcony cabins, the partition can be opened to form one large balcony. Family balcony cabins measure 299 square feet (including veranda) and sleep up to five. Some have larger balconies with room for two mesh-and-metal chairs, a small table for drinks and two sun loungers with plenty of space to move around. Smoking is not permitted on balconies.

Disney Dream Concierge Suites Offer More Space and Great Perks

For those requiring more space, Disney offers Concierge Suites, as well as roomy Concierge Family Cabins, located on Decks 11 and 12. The decor focuses more on earth tones (browns and muted sea blues), versus the bright red-and-blue nautical hues of the standard cabins. All suites and family cabins feature balconies.

Both offer access to the concierge facilities, including the Disney Dream Concierge Lounge and a private sun deck with some chairs. While these areas are not particularly noteworthy, they do offer easy access to free food and drinks and coveted extra space. The concierge is on hand before and during your cruise to help with reservations, activity planning and other needs.

Concierge Family cabins start at 306 square feet and can sleep up to five. One-bedroom suites start at 622 square feet; most have connecting doors. These have queen-sized beds in separate bedrooms, sitting areas with double convertible sofas and a small table and chairs, single wall pull-down beds in the living rooms, walk-in closets and two bathrooms (with a whirlpool in the master).

The Roy O Disney Suite on Disney Dream Is on a League of Its Own

Really want to spoil yourself? The 1,781-square-foot Roy O Disney Suite (officially known as the Royal Suite) has all the amenities of a Concierge suite, plus a wet bar, kitchenette, dining table for eight, and a media library. The main bathroom features double sinks and a rainfall shower as well as a jetted bathtub. This suite can sleep five.

Décor is classic and elegant, with wood finishes and art deco details. Original artworks decorate the walls. Marble and granite bathrooms feel upscale and spacious. The verandah features a hot tub and cushioned chairs and loungers.

Larger groups can book an adjoining Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah or the adjacent Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah. On adjoining suites, the partition between verandahs can be opened to create a larger balcony for sharing.

Disney Dream - Deck at Sunrise

When it comes to cruising, Disney really stands out. We know the name is synonymous with quality. The quality of the decor, the food, the service, the room space, the cleanliness, the extras — it’s superb in every way. For more information about the Disney Cruise Line, hop over to our full post .

Disney Dream - Atrium

The Disney Dream was built in 2010 and refurbished in 2020. It can hold up to 3,500 passengers and 1,400 crew members. The Disney Dream sails out of Port Canaveral and the Port of Miami, and the typical route for the ship is three to five days from a homeport to the Bahamas and/or Mexico.

What Is There to Do on the Disney Dream?

Disney Dream - Family on the Beach

You will never be bored on a Disney Cruise — that's for certain! There is so much fun to be had, but we have to warn you ... you won’t be able to do it all on your first trip! And that is actually a good thing! It ensures that there will always be new things to experience, see and do on your next sail. And trust us, you will definitely want to return to sail with the Disney Cruise Line again and again!

Family Activities on the Disney Dream

The Disney Dream offers an almost endless amount of activities for families. From pools, waterslides, games, shows and kid clubs, there's something for everyone in the family to do and enjoy.

One of our personal favorites is the classic Disney character meet and greets. On the Disney Dream, you have the opportunity to meet fan-favorite Disney characters. There are princesses such as Cinderella and Ariel, as well as Mickey Mouse and his friends. You can take pictures with them, give hugs and make special memories just as you would in the parks. We think meeting these characters makes your Disney cruise really memorable. No Disney vacation is complete without that family photo with Mickey Mouse and friends!

Speaking of photos, Shutters, located on Deck 4 is a professional photo studio for family photos that toadally gives glamour shot vibes — but with a Disney touch. These photography sessions need to be booked ahead of time and come with an extra charge. The photo sessions are fun and a unique way to make memories while creating a one-of-a-kind souvenir that you can bring home to commemorate your trip.

Disney Dream - Sea Treasures

If you like shopping for exclusive merchandise and souvenir hunting, you're in luck! There are so many places to shop on board. Check out Deck 3 where you can shop 'til you drop!

For nightly family entertainment, be sure to view the live Broadway-style shows onboard the Disney Dream. The running show changes with the season, so check your particular booking to see which show is playing. Typically, the play shows one to three times each sail so that everyone gets a chance to attend and experience these musical productions.

Movie buffs, rejoice! There is a huge movie theater onboard. The whole family can watch movies that are currently playing in theaters on land, and some classic Disney favorites, as well! Movie showings are also completely free, but some concessions are at an extra cost.

If you feel like exploring and going on an adventure, then you NEED to try the free ship-wide scavenger hunt! The start location is on Deck 5 midship. Here, you can activate your map, grab a pencil and start “sleuthing!" The Midship Detective Agency is an interactive attraction that kids and adults will love doing together. The game revolves around Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy helping Disney characters solve different cases.

There are a few cases to solve so you can do it multiple times to try and solve them all! The clues will lead you to paintings that have secret interactive objects. The paintings by the elevator that you’ve been admiring all cruise — those are actually interactive screens for the scavenger hunt mystery! Who knew? Each special painting will transform and give the next clue. Your family will have a blast running around the ship and solving each case. Bonus! It also makes a great way to get to know the ship and explore.

Disney Dream - Pool Deck

Some of the ultimate must-do activities on any Disney ship are centered around the pool areas. On the Disney Dream, you'll discover two big pools for families. There is also a small Mickey-themed waterslide, a Nemo-themed splash pad area for the little ones and a waterslide that spans the entire length of the ship called the AquaDuck. It’s a froggerific ride that gives you a very different view of the ship and sea! There is a height requirement of 42" and kids under 7 years old must be accompanied to ride with someone 14 years or older (who also meets the height requirement).

The pool area deck has a massive TV screen that plays Disney movies throughout both the day and night. It’s a great place to come and relax before bed to enjoy the ocean breeze. The pools do close at night, but the deck transforms into a flat walking area with chairs.

Does your family have a competitive edge? Then be sure to check out Goofy's Sports Deck located on Deck 13. The mini-golf is brightly themed and a ton of fun. In addition to mini-golf, there's an enclosed basketball court that's perfect for shooting some free throws or a friendly game of HORSE. For even more family fun, you'll also discover a shuffleboard alongside the running track on Deck 4.

Disney Dream - Mini-Golf

Also located on Deck 4, is the D Lounge. This is where many scheduled family-friendly events take place. You can participate in bingo, trivia, crafts and so much more! Most activities are free, but the games that have big prizes will require a buy-in. For example, bingo requires you to purchase cards with the potential to win hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Ready to shake your groove thing? You can usually find Deck Parties on Deck 11. In fact, a new dance party with a 90s throwback feel, Mickey's Color Spin Dance Party, debuted this summer on select Disney Dream sailings.

Disney Dream - Deck Party

Speaking of parties, the Sailing Away Deck Party is a family-friendly event that happens on Deck 11 and takes place when the ship is leaving port. There is singing, dancing, ticker tape and fireworks. This is a frogtastic way to kick off your cruise after boarding and taking part in all of the safety drills.

Pirate Night is another family deck party, but this one lasts all night! On select itineraries, Pirate Night starts at dinner when everyone is encouraged to dress up like a pirate or simply wear the bandannas that are provided in your room. The cabin staff will leave pirate bandannas and gold coins to help get you in the swashbuckling mood. On Deck 11, the pools are covered during the party and there are free pirate-themed games, a pirate show featuring Mickey Mouse, a musical sing-along and a massive fireworks show to end the night.

In addition, the Disney Dream fireworks show has been reimagined with new music and spectacular choreographed pyrotechnics. Make note — the fireworks show, “Ever After,” is a CAN'T-MISS!

Disney Dream - Ever After

Kid-Only Activities on the Disney Dream

First, let’s talk about childproofing. Breathe in ... breathe out, parental frogs! There's no need to worry about your kids breaking anything on this beautiful ship. Despite the pristine decor, everything within kids' reach in the staterooms and common areas is toadally safe.

Disney Dream - Nursery

For the littlest tadpoles, there is an amazing nursery located on Deck 5, right next to the Oceaneer Club. "it's a small world" nursery is for children ages 6 months to 3 years old. Just like the name implies, the entire space is themed after the "it’s a small world" attraction in the Disney theme parks. Your baby will be well cared for here as every caretaker is highly trained in infant safety. Reservations can be made in advance on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is an additional fee for nursery care.

Disney's Oceaneer Club is an interactive play area for ages 3 to 12 years old. This part of the ship is like a theme park all on its own. You must make reservations for 1.5 to 2.5-hour blocks for each child. The playtime is led by multiple Oceaneer staff members where they facilitate storytime, dress up, character visits, interactive games, themed playgrounds, arts and crafts. The themed rooms include a "Star Wars" ship area, Andy’s room (from "Toy Story"), animation rooms, video game rooms and Tinker Bell's fairy forest. The Oceaneer Club is always the highlight of the Disney Dream for Lily!

*It is important to note that children must be fully potty trained to be admitted into this club.

The Edge is a preteen club area that caters to ages 11 to 14 years old. It is an interactive space with video games, a dance floor, karaoke, crafts, arcade, sports and lounge areas. The Disney Dream counselors host lots of daily activities that will get even your shyest tween to warm up and have a great time. As you may have guessed, our resident tween, Tad, spends most of his time here.

Disney Dream - The Edge

The Vibe is specifically for ages 14 to 17 years old. Here, your teen frog can find a smoothie bar, a soda fountain, a sundeck, an arcade, a DJ booth, a dance floor, a coffee area and even a lounge area with screens. This is an amazing place for teens to get off the screens and socialize in a space that's designed just for them!

Adults-Only Activities on the Disney Dream

Disney Dream - Adults

You'll find two adults-only restaurants on the Disney Dream. Remy is a French restaurant themed after the movie “Ratatouille," so, of course, everyone's favorite little chef is the namesake. There is a crystal statue of Remy hidden on the chandelier as you enter the dining room and the pattern on the seating is a silhouette of Remy and his brother. It is one of the only restaurants at sea with three Michelin stars! You must book a reservation ahead of time and this menu is not included in the complimentary rotational dining; it is an extra charge.

Keep in mind that there is a dress code, so pack accordingly. Formalwear is suggested. Men if you frogot a jacket or dress shoes, ask the Maitre d' — you can rent a suit and shoes for the night for free!

Palo is an Italian restaurant that is famous for its multiple-course brunch and romantic dinner. With a gorgeous view of the ocean, explore the menu and be transported to the coastal waters of Venice. This adults-only restaurant also has a dress code and requires a reservation.

Meridian is a half-indoor, half-outdoor lounge that is located between the two adult-only restaurants on Deck 12. The theme of this bar is “travel” with luggage straps on the booths, passport-stamped wallpaper and themed drinks.

Disney Dream - Quiet Cove

The Quiet Cove is the adults-only pool area on Deck 11. It has multiple pools and hot tubs. There are countless lounge chairs for sunbathing, plus shaded areas that make for a perfect respite from the sun. Grab a cocktail or two at the poolside bars that are also located in this area of the ship.

If you're looking for some hoppin' nightlife, the Disney Dream does not disappoint! There are chic nightclubs and bars located on almost every deck of the ship! Here’s a list of the nightclubs and bars available:

  • Pink: Wine and champagne Bar - Deck 4
  • Evolution (adult exclusive dance club) - Deck 4
  • Bon Voyage (Cocktail Bar) - Deck 3
  • Vista Cafe - Deck 4
  • Meridian Bar - Deck 12
  • Skyline Bar (Cocktail Bar) - Deck 4
  • Frozone Treats (Pool Bar) - Deck 11
  • Waves (Pool Bar) - Deck 12
  • 687 Lounge - Deck 4
  • The District Lounge - Deck 4
  • Outlook - Deck 14
  • Cove Café - Deck 11
  • Currents Bar - Deck 13

Disney Dream - Bar

Wanna feel like a million bucks? Then book a spa treatment at Senses Spa! This spa offers massages, facials, a hair salon, a juice and smoothie bar and a nail salon.  Here you can relax in the tranquil rainforest-themed aromatherapy steam rooms or sauna. Complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, plush sandals and robes are included during your treatment. Ahh, bliss!

If you're looking to stay in "ship-shape," then be sure to take advantage of the abundant recreation and fitness activities aboard the Disney Dream. You'll find the state-of-the-art fitness center on Deck 9 that offers spectacular views of the ocean. The fitness center houses the standard equipment you'd expect at a typical gym such as treadmills, ellipticals and weights. Complimentary fitness classes are offered at various times throughout the length of your voyage. Personalized fitness services are also available with an additional fee. The jogging trail on Deck 4 is perfect for hitting your daily step count goal, even when floating out on the big blue sea.

What Is There to Eat Aboard the Disney Dream?

Disney Dream - Meal

One of the best parts of the Disney Dream is the food ! There are so many places to grab a quick bite, nibble on a snack or dine in refined, world-class restaurants. Lets take a culinary journey to explore the many food options abroad the Disney Dream.

  • Remy – Adults-only French cuisine
  • Palo – Adults-only Italian cuisine
  • Cabanas Buffet – This buffet is massive and has something for every diet and preference. It is open for a few hours in the morning for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Animator's Palate – Family dining that is artist-themed (complimentary rotational dining)
  • Royal Court – Family dining in the elegant atmosphere of Cinderella's Castle (complimentary rotational dining)
  • Enchanted Garden – Family dining in Versailles gardens-style surroundings. As the sun sets, the ceiling changes into stars and the flower lighting fixtures close. (complimentary rotational dining)
  • 24-Hour Room Service – Free room service around the clock!
  • Flo's Cafe – On Deck 11, there is a grill featuring pizza, burgers, hot dogs and french fries that is open when the buffet is closed.
  • Ice Cream – All-you-can-eat soft-serve machines are located on Deck 11. Here you can grab an ice cream cone any time of the day or night.

Disney Dream - Vanellope's

  • Vanellope's Sweets and Treats – This cute gourmet ice cream and candy shop has the best milkshakes. There is a small fee, but it’s surprisingly inexpensive.
  • Cove Coffee Shop – This little cafe is tucked away in the adults-only section. Specialty liquors with coffee are served here.
  • Preludes – Offers fresh popcorn, candy and drinks.
  • Drink Stations - On Deck 11 is where you'll find the soda, water, coffee and tea stations that never close. Unlike other cruise lines, soda and juice are always included throughout the duration of your trip.

Aboard the Disney Dream, guests are treated to an exceptional dining experience known as rotational dining. This innovative and yummy concept allows passengers to savor a variety of cuisines in a series of themed restaurants throughout their voyage. Each night, you will rotate to a different dining venue, accompanied by a serving team that travels with you. From the elegant Art Deco-inspired surroundings of the Animator's Palate to the enchanting Royal Palace and magical Enchanted Garden, the rotational dining experience makes every meal a new adventure. For each night of your cruise, you will be assigned a specific restaurant and table for your stateroom. This restaurant selection rotates every night, but your table will remain the same.

All About the Disney-Owned Private Island, Castaway Cay

Disney Dream - Castaway Cay

In case you didn’t know, the best port of call or stop on a Disney Dream cruise is the Disney-owned Bahamian island of Castaway Cay . This little island is the trifecta of adventure, relaxation and Disney magic. It’s the most perfect temperature all year round, the sea breeze is fantastic and the vibes feel like pure paradise!

This Caribbean island is a classic island retreat. The water is crystal clear, and the sand is so soft and white. The crystal-clear water is nothing like we've ever seen before! It’s an absolute dream (pun toadally intended)!

Disney Dream - Smoothies on the Beach

Cookie's BBQ and Cookie's Too BBQ hosts an all-you-can-eat buffet lunch that runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The food offerings include bbq ribs, rotisserie chicken, honey bbq seared salmon, hamburgers, coleslaw, potato salad, sliced fruit, and even more of that delicious soft-serve ice cream!

While you are relaxing on the beach, you can order drinks from the abundant wandering waiters. Our tadpoles tried the strawberry smoothies and they were divine. I might have snuck a sip (or five)!

If you're not a "sit on the beach and relax" kinda person — there’s plenty to do! How about a ride down one of the big waterslides over at Pelican Plunge? You'll need to swim to this water park because it's out in open water! Leap over to our full Castaway Cay guide for all the details.

Additional activities include the bike trail with rentable bikes, a running trail, sand volleyball sports area, snorkeling, splash pads for little ones and a water obstacle course, just to name a few.

Disney Dream - Rentals

Too much action? Then maybe a little retail therapy will do the trick? You'll discover unique shops around the island with plenty of Castaway Cay themed merchandise, apparel and souvenirs to check out.

Disney Dream - Castaway Cay Shopping

If you're looking for a bit more peace and quiet, then consider hoppin' on the tram to Serenity Bay — the 18 and up adult-only beach. Enjoy a morning yoga class, an open-air massage or a cocktail while relaxing in a hammock next to the lapping shoreline.

Best Tips for Sailing on the Disney Dream Cruise Ship

Here are a few packing and preparation tips that we've learned from cruising experiences.

  • Pack a small bag to carry your things around the ship and on the island ports of call stops!
  • No need to pack a hairdryer — there is one located in every stateroom.
  • Remember that there is a laundry room with washers, dryers, soap (for a small fee) and an iron/ironing board on every deck.
  • Download the Disney Cruise app ahead of time and connect it to your stateroom. This app will have your reservations, your itinerary and most importantly, it has a messaging feature. The message chat function will help you communicate with other people in your party when there is no signal. The app will give you a map of the ship, tell you the schedules and you can text through the app. It’s easy and FREE.
  • Pack a sweater, the weather at sea can be unpredictable and quite windy when the sun goes down.

Disney Dream - Deck

Is There an Internet Connection on the Disney Dream?

Yes and no! As soon as you start sailing, put your phone in airplane mode to avoid international fees. Then you can connect to the Disney cruise Wi-Fi.

You are able to purchase internet gigs onboard, but they can get very expensive. The "Pay as You Go” option is $0.25 cents per MB, $19 for 100 MB, $39 for 300 MB and $89 for 1000 MB.

In order to upload a photo to social media, it takes about 4-5 MB. Browsing social media for an hour takes around 100-200 MB, and streaming a short YouTube video (less than five minutes) takes up 150-200 MB. Most people will want to buy a plan and sign in only to post on social media and then sign out to save data. If you want to browse plans onboard, you can purchase through the Disney Cruise Line app. The biggest help for us was to visit the “Connect@Sea” help desk on Deck 4. The experts there can help you navigate the plan that is right for you and provide tech support for your particular phone!

So what do you think? Are you ready to let your imagination set sail on the Disney Dream? Have you sailed on the Disney Dream before? Let us know in the comments below!

Hi there! I have a 4 night cruise on the Disney Dream booked for April 2024. It’s making stops at Nassau and Disney’s island. I was just wondering- is it possible to get off and walk around nassau safely without an excursion booked? I’ve been to nassau but never on a cruise (always at a resort). Can you go to a beach or find activities on your own rather than joining an excursion? Thank you very much!!

I’m debating if I should just remain on the cruise ship in nassau or pay for an excursion

When you get off - it is a little sketchy with the shops. But, you can jump in a taxi and catch a ride to a local beach. It can be fun! Find another family that's also interested in doing the same!

Yes, it’s fine to walk around the town area near the ship.

Is the food and ice cream included on the Disney Island or do you have to pay for it ?

Hi Mary Beth!

Yes, food, water and soft drinks are included on Castaway Cay. Premium beverages are an additional cost.

Hoppy planning!

Do the ship have wi-fi for free

Hi Jennifersu!

If only using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, you would not need to purchase Wi-Fi. However, if you wish to access anything beyond the app, such as emails and social media, you would need to purchase a Wi-Fi plan. There are three different tiers of plans that you can opt for, though note that there are new day-based plans on some ships while others may still have the old plans which are based on the amount of data you use (though eventually, the new plans will rollout to all of the ships).
