Better still, we will detail all the steps quickly so we don't waste your precious time. That way, you can progress through the Turbulent Waters Diablo 4 quest as fast as possible. So, are you ready to tread the dark roads of Sanctuary? If so, let's dive right in!

Note: This quest is part 3/4 in the Diablo 4 " To Walk A Dark Path " questline in the Hawezar region. Looking for even more guides? Check out our guides hub -- you won't be sorry!

Diablo 4: How To Complete Turbulent Waters Side Quest

Turbulent_Waters

To start the Turbulent Waters side quest in Diablo 4, you must first travel to the Backwater Waypoint . Once there, you will have to question the locals as to the whereabouts of Elias. The first local you will encounter is Agata .

Select the "Has a swordsman and a priest come through here" dialog option when you meet Agata. She will offer no real help. Then, climb the ladder and speed up to the next local north of Backwater: Kiana . Choose the "Have you seen a one-eyed swordsman traveling with a curate?" dialog option. She will be of no real help either, so onto the next.

Further to the right of the area, you will find the third local: Mwinas. Choose the " Have you seen a swordsman and a priest" dialog option. They will make a bad joke (perhaps the worst in all of Diablo 4). After not laughing, proceed to the next local. Head down until you find Nivro .

Turbulent_Waters_3

Nivro will actually be of help when trying to complete Turbulent Waters in Diablo 4. Here, choose the first dialog option you get. He will tell you that he has seen the men you seek. Then interact with him again, where you must buy some of his wares to go further.

You will need to buy Cerrigar Red Sky  from Nivro for 100 Gold. This bottle of mead will come in handy in a moment. Take this newly acquired mead and give it to Sev , who can be found near the shores south of Backwater in Diablo 4.

Once you find Sev, interact with him and give him the mead. Then interact with him again and choose the "Where did you leave Elias and Symon?" dialog option. He will proclaim the men you seek went to Esret . After elaborating further, the quest will be complete, rewarding you with 3000 Gold, 33,920 XP, and 20 Hawezar Renown.

And that's how to complete the Turbulent Waters Hawezar Side Quest in Diablo 4. Now, you can continue participating in Part 4 of the questline, " By Three They Come ."

We want to extend a special thank you and credit to WoW Quests on YouTube for their complete walkthrough of the "Turbulent Waters" side quest in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4: Turbulent Waters Quest Walkthrough

Here's how to complete the third quest in the To Walk a Dark Path quest chain, Turbulent Waters, in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 's story is centered around Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto and the creator of Sanctuary. Of course, Lilith can't conquer Sanctuary on her own, relying on the rogue priest Elias to do much of her dirty work, including summoning her in the first place.

Related: Diablo 4: To Walk A Dark Path Quest Walkthrough

In the To Walk a Dark Path quest chain, you will learn more of how Elias brought about Lilith's summoning, and even travel to the place where the summoning took place in the cinematic trailer. Below, we'll take a look at the third quest in this chain, Turbulent Waters, as well as how to complete every step of it.

How To Complete Turbulent Waters Quest

Turbulent Waters is the third quest in the To Walk a Dark Path quest chain, and is automatically accepted after finishing At Any Cost . After completing the ritual involving the Acolyte's Head in the previous quest, you will learn that Elias and Symon traveled to Backwater , which is your next destination.

After arriving in Backwater, which is located in the southeast area of Hawezar , ask the locals about Elias. You'll need to talk to Agata, Kiana, Mwinas, and Nivro , the Ring and Amulet merchant. Nivro the merchant will tell you about Sev, who may know more information. However, to get information out of Sev, you'll need to buy the Cerrigar Red Sky from Nivro first.

Head out of Backwater and move south through the quest search area until you find Sev. Speaking with her to give her the Cerrigar Red Sky , then talk to her again to learn your next step. At this point, the quest will be complete, and the final quest in the chain, By Three They Come , will be automatically accepted . You'll also earn some experience, gold, and Renown.

Turbulent Waters Walkthrough

After completing the Side Quest To Walk a Dark Path , this  Quest  will automatically be activated and your objective will be highlighted accordingly. In case you left this next Quest for later, your objective will be in Backwater, at the Forsaken Coast.

Make your way there by teleporting to the Waypoint, or if you haven't activated it yet just place an objective marker on your map for the fastest path there. In the case of the latter, make sure you do activate the Waypoint when you get there.

Of the four people you're asked to talk to, only the one to the south will be of any importance, Nivro the Rings & Amulets vendor. Ask him, "Have you seen a one eyed swordsman and a priest recently?" It seems you have one lead. Buy his Cerrifar Red Sky before you leave to look for Sev.

As the next objective says, Sev will be in the indicated area to the south. You'll find her at the cliff before the southernmost cliff within the blue circle.

Interact with her and say, "I brought you some mead."

After her little monologue, talk to her again and ask, "Where did you leave Elias and Symon?" Seems you have your next location, and Sev is resolved to accompany you. This will complete the quest.

Diablo 4: All Waypoint Locations in Hawezar

Travel in Hawezar need not be a hassle; find and activate all waypoints for easier travel in Diablo 4.

For a series constantly focused on the battle against evil, the latest entry, Diablo 4 , still retains much of the core gameplay formula. And that means plenty of combat and walking to explore the lands of Sanctuary. However, this time around, the world is significantly larger and denser, so players will have to get used to traveling more than ever.

Do not despair, however, as there is obviously some help coming from the developers at Blizzard Entertainment. There's the option of getting a mount to speed things up, and then there are the waypoints located all around the world. These spots are invaluable for those looking to fast travel from point to point, and if the objective is to activate all Hawezar waypoints in Diablo 4 , read on for all the important information.

Hawezar Waypoint Locations in Diablo 4

Unlike many other regions in Diablo 4 , Hawezar has only six waypoints , which is on the lower end of the scale. While it would not be a problem if the region were smaller, that is not the case. Nevertheless, getting all the waypoints activated will still be tremendously helpful.

With Zarbinzet being the hub city of Hawezar, it can be quite a distance away, depending on which direction players come from. Heading southeast from Kehjistan is the easiest way; if not, it will take a long walk southwest from Fractured Peaks to get to the location.

Services include:

  • Weapon Vendor
  • Armor Vendor
  • Amulet/Ring Vendor
  • Purveyor of Curiosities

Located in the southern part of Hawezar lies Vyeresz. Before it can be used as a fast travel point, there is a need for combat, as players must clear the Stronghold here. After doing so, it makes traveling to the lower parts of the region much more convenient, plus there's a Blacksmith around to help salvage and improve Diablo 4's gear .

Ruins of Rakhat Keep: Inner Court

A key story location, players need not worry about missing out on this waypoint. More interestingly, the presence of three different dungeons in the immediate area makes this a good place to farm some XP and get better gear drops from the evil denizens and those powerful Aspects .

The northernmost waypoint in Hawezar, visit Wejinhani as early as possible so that there is easy access to the wide expanse of space at the top end of the region.

The Trees of Whispers

The Trees of Whisper play a vital role in the main plot of Diablo 4 , and as such, players will definitely be activating this particular waypoint. In addition, it also functions as an endgame activity for those that have completed the main campaign, so be sure to revisit to continue enjoying the game.

The final waypoint in Hawezar is at Backwater, a Stronghold by the water. The enemy numbers are great here, and it pays to be more prepared to take on this Stronghold. Be successful, and players will earn a useful fast travel point for the southern part of the region.

With that, all six waypoints of Hawezar will be added to the growing collection to make travel less of a hassle. This will also make it easier to complete the many side quests found in the game, and that is exactly what everyone needs if they hope to hit Diablo 4 's level cap .

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Team Up With a Player Who Already Unlocked Them

If you have a friend who has already unlocked every waypoint in the game, it's easy to unlock them all by simply teleporting after them as they head around the map. By our testing, this should be doable in 20-30 minutes if you both teleport efficiently.

  • Join a party with your friend who has already unlocked all of the Waypoints. It should be ok for either you or them to be Party Leader.
  • Teleport to Kyovashad. There should be a purple portal there which leads to your friend's location.
  • While you go to Kyovashad, your friend should teleport to a Waypoint you haven't been to yet.
  • Go through the portal to reach the Waypoint your friend went to and unlock it.
  • From there, follow step 2 again while your friend follows step 3 again.
  • Follow step 4 again.
  • Repeat the process until all Waypoints are unlocked.

Diablo 4 - Unlock Waypoints Fast.png

Congratulations! You'll end up with a map like the one above where you can easily visit new areas as required by the campaign, reach World Bosses and Legion Events that spawn, and go around the map as you like.

As it's not possible to powerlevel a player from level 1 to 100 easily in Diablo 4, this is one of the best methods to help a starting player get into the game fast. Even Waypoints which are normally story-locked can be unlocked in this way, making it immediately useful.

How to Teleport to a Party Member's Location

Waypoints are portals that appear on the map at fixed locations in towns and major locations. These Waypoints, once activated, allow you to travel instantly between locations. Furthermore, discovering new Waypoints earn you 20 Renown each.

To activate a Waypoint for the first time, simply step on it. From now on, you'll be able to select this Waypoint from the map and travel to this location, even if you're in a dungeon !

Diablo 4: Brought to Heel Quest Walkthrough Guide

Image of Jason Rodriguez

The Diablo 4   Brought to Heel quest takes place in the Hawezar region. In it, you’ll have to look for a certain item to help someone settle their grudge. Our Diablo 4 Brought to Heel guide discusses where you can find the Wild Red Mushrooms for Lumir.

How to Complete the Brought to Heel Quest and Get Wild Red Mushrooms in Diablo 4

How to start the diablo 4 brought to heel quest.

diablo 4 travel to backwater

You can receive the Diablo 4 Brought to Heel quest by heading to the town of Backwater in the southeastern corner of Hawezar. There’s an NPC by the pier named Lumir, and he has a job for you.

You’ll visit Hawezar during Act 3 of the campaign. However, the story doesn’t take you anywhere close to Backwater. As such, you’ll simply need to explore to reach it (you’ll unlock a fast travel point while doing so, too). Just beware of poison-filled swamps and bogs along the way.

Where to Find Wild Red Mushrooms

After talking to Lumir, it’s time to look for the Diablo 4 Wild Red Mushrooms. If you’re tracking the quest, it seems that the entirety of the Hawezar — Forsaken Coast sub-zone needs to be searched. I was genuinely surprised at first.

Fortunately, the item that you’re looking for is just in the northern section (as shown on the map above). Take note that this is a fixed location for all players.

diablo 4 travel to backwater

Once you reach the area, you’ll notice a patch of Wild Red Mushrooms growing on the ground. Pick up the item, and return to Lumir to finish the objective. It looks like he’ll finally have something that will help him settle a grudge.

And that’s it. You’ve completed the Brought to Heel quest in Diablo 4 . For more tips, walkthroughs, and strategies, our Diablo 4 tips hub has you covered .

Blizzard States No Intention to Extend Diablo 4 Season 4 PTR

Cant wait for all the armchair developers to come spouting that its not enough.

Cant wait for all the armchair developers to come spouting that its not enough. That's because it isn't, and Blizzard's history should show that to anyone with any functional braincells. The deadline was not made by the devs.

Cant wait for all the armchair developers to come spouting that its not enough. That's because it isn't, and Blizzard's history should show that to anyone with any functional braincells. The deadline was not made by the devs. You are delusional, they on purpose delayed Season 4 by a month so they can iterate and work on the feedback recieved from the PTR. But even then, the PTR has had overwhelming positive feedback with small bugs to be fixed which is only fair. D4 finally getting good.

Comment by Makz42

There are no interactions on PTR which are "non-playable".

Comment by johntravolta342

I mean there aren't too many reasons to extend it, they got plenty of feedback now it's just about implementing it before the season launches. Raxx especially did a ton of work and had some great points so hopefully this ptr will serve its purpose.

I agree that the PTR is awesome and D4 is looking very promising. But to say the PTR has only had "small bugs" is extremely disingenuous. There's builds hitting for 250 trillion. Skills, weapons, armor just not working. Terrible balance. A lot of big stuff.

Comment by Kerathras

They have no intention of extending it because they only ever did it to placate the players in the first place and not because they had any real interest in using it the way it’s intended i.e. to gather feedback and quash bugs before they go live.

Comment by Mochan

I mean there aren't too many reasons to extend it, they got plenty of feedback now it's just about implementing it before the season launches. Raxx especially did a ton of work and had some great points so hopefully this ptr will serve its purpose. There is one very good reason to extend it. Nobody is playing S3, but everyone came back to play PTR. When PTR ends everyone goes back to Last Epoch and Blizzard employee pay gets docked when player engagement for Diablo is dead again for another month.

Comment by Tasunke

NGL I gonna miss that PTR. Season 4 looks carefuly promising.
