Thinking of booking a cruise? Jetline Cruise offers unrivalled cruise packages to exotic destinations, allowing guests to feel ‘free at sea’. You should get booking…

When it comes to feeling free, there are few places on earth more appealing than a cruise ship, far away from the hustle of day-to-day life and sailing the world’s oceans.

With so many cruise lines and even more travel agents, it can be hard to choose which cruise holiday to book and who to book with. As one of the UK’s leading and most experienced cruise tour operators, Jetline Cruise has become one of the most trusted cruise travel agents in the country.

Working with countless cruise lines, airlines, train companies and hoteliers to negotiate the best prices, Jetline Cruise offers unique dream holidays to dream destinations.

Championing the feeling of being ‘free at sea’, the cruise tour operator offers an impressive range of bespoke and exclusively built cruise holiday itineraries, and working with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Jetline has curated a range of once-in-a-lifetime cruises to put a dent in cruiser’s bucket lists.

NCL has one of the youngest fleets at sea, and some of the most exciting ships in the cruise industry. Sailing the world’s oceans from the Far East to Alaska, its ships are packed with activities and entertainment that ensure no sea day is ever the same.

On-board ship you can experience anything, from go-kart tracks, laser tag courses, bowling alleys and water parks to popular Broadway style shows such as Jersey Boys , Footloose and Kinky Boots . With spacious staterooms, the most dining options afloat, outdoor party venues and private adults only beach clubs.

Why you should book with Jetline

As Autumn slowly creeps in, many of us are thinking about planning their next cruise getaway, and Jetline offers a myriad of destinations including Asia, the Caribbean , the Med, Hawaii, Alaska , Australia and the South Pacific.

The cruise line’s Spirit of the Orient, Japan and China collection offers sailings on Norwegian Spirit , visiting vibrant, pulsating ports like Hong Kong and Shanghai, with lots of overnight stays so cruisers can fully immersive themselves in city life.

Far from the buzz of these Asian mega metropolises, Jetline’s selection of NCL cruises also sail around the Japanese archipelago, journey to the Great Wall of China and visit the ancient temples in Kyoto; guests can also explore Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

If you’re after sun-soaked shores, then Jetline Cruise’s Grand Caribbean itinerary is for you, which comes with the added treat of all-inclusive drinks package. Sailing on either Norwegian Bliss or Norwegian Gem , you can journey from the glittering city of New York, across the ocean into the golden Caribbean sunshine.

Antigua, Caribbean sea

In-between island hopping in Barbados, Antigua and Saint Lucia, Jetline Cruise customers can enjoy their drinks package by sipping cocktails on the sprawling sun deck, plus a five-night speciality dining treat.

Other bucket list packages include marvelling at Niagara Falls before sailing around Canada and the US, cruising up the golden Pacific coast to Alaska and visiting Italy’s most precious city, Venice. Jetline is also offering exciting cruises on brand new Norwegian Encore , perhaps the line’s most impressive ship to date, with her inaugural sailing in November 2019 still open for bookings.

When booking a cruise with Jetline – a member of the Cruise Lines International Association – all cruises are ABTA protected and all flights are ATOL protected, so you can book knowing that your holiday is 100 per cent secure. What are you waiting for?

Concern with booking

Received confirmation after phoning 2-3 times . Notice a few things incorrect so spoke to them again, was told to ring customer service. Which I did very helpful girl Gemma who sorted out the problems hopefully as we booked for our 50th anniversary so do not want any more problems 😞

Date of experience : 02 February 2024

Great value and service from Jetline

As this cruise booking was for 2025 we took our time in researching a good price and yet again our agent Tom at Jetline couldn't be bettered on price. We must have booked 10 cruises with Tom and there is a reason why we keep going back and it's because he provides excellent service and great value.

Date of experience : 30 January 2024

We are thrilled that you had such a positive experience! Thank you for your repeat customer and for sharing your kind words with us. Tom will be so happy to hear of your satisfaction. We look forward to serving you again soon!

We have had excellent service in booking our up and coming holiday with Jetline cruise. The customerservice /sales person Imran booking our holiday has been amazing throughout. He searched for the best deals and flights for us. Kept us updated and answered any correspondence very promptly. Thank you Imran. Your an asset to Jetline cruise.

Easy booking thanks to Emma

My enquiry was handled splendidly by Emma, who provided all the essential information then helped me make the booking She gave me relevant advice as a first time cruiser and helped me choose the best options.

Date of experience : 10 February 2024

We are so happy to hear that you had such a positive experience. Thanks so much for taking the time to mention Emma and the service that she provided. Wishing you happy travels!

Poor service and product knowledge

Booked a fly cruise holiday. On confirmation invoice there was no mention of any baggage allowance. BA website useless, and Van at Jetline didn't know (but assumed none). Jetline took no ownership and left me to chase around with BA and the cruise company who told me allowance was 23kg. Jetline should have known at the outset, or at the very least found out for me. Poor service.

Hi, I am very sorry to hear this indeed. Baggage allowance will depend on the type of class a booking is made in. I am not sure why he did not know this. Thanks so much for sharing this with us, your feedback ensures that we do a better job next time. All the best.

Always book with confidence

I always use jetline cruises particularly Nathan. I give him an idea and he makes it happen. While away on holiday I’ve not had any major problems at all. I can book with confidence.

Date of experience : 31 January 2024

We are thrilled that you had such a positive experience! Thank you for sharing your kind words with us and for taking the time to mention Nathan. We look forward to serving you again soon!

The complete package

I spoke to Nathan at Jetline as I wanted to know how much a single cabin would be. He quoted me a figure and then managed to discount it. The cruise includes flights and transfers and he even found my membership number with the cruise company. My documents arrived a couple of days later as promised. I have travelled with Jetline Cruise several times before and never been disappointed.

Date of experience : 24 January 2024

We are thrilled that you had such a positive experience! Thank you for sharing your kind words with us and for your repeat custom. We look forward to serving you again soon!

Hello, I am very sorry to hear of your experience and it certainly does not sound like the level of service that we are used to providing. I have asked a member of our CS Team to look into your booking, but if you could provide your reference number it would certainly expedite things. We thank you in advance.

1 year later and still waiting for refund

Great company until something goes wrong! Booked a multi centre holiday with internal flights. We had to pay a baggage fee for our internal flights even thought luggage was meant to be included. Jetline said this should not have happened. 1 year later and we are still waiting on a refund for baggage charges!!

Date of experience : 20 March 2023

Hiya, I have spoken to Emma and she has informed me that you have spoken and your refund has been issued. We are so sorry that you had to wait so long. We do appreciate your patience. Wishing you all the best.

Excellent Service.

I booked a vacation through Jetline a couple of days ago, the advisor I spoke to ( Nathan ) remembered that I had booked with him before. UPDATED ALL SORTED THANKS TO KEITH HE DID NOT REPLY AS HE HAD BEEN OFF WORK DUE TO SICKNESS AND HE REPLIED STRAIGHT BACK AS SOON AS HE HAD SEEN MY EMAILS …

Incorrect information given pre booking so was very disappointed 😞 as I have booked with this company many times before for myself and I have recommended this company to friends who have made booking with you . Update my agent contacted me today to say the incorrect info on our booking would be rectified straight away .The department sent through the new bookings with correct details this time apparently the last one was a typing error .Give them benefit of the doubt as we have had quite a few holidays with them and never had a problem .

First Time Booking with Jetline

Have used many other companies to book holidays and cruises and have booked direct with cruise lines. On this occasion Benjamin was extremely helpful in comparing and helping me to select the right cruise and the right hotels for our Azamara trip next year. he spent a great deal of time looking at the options and came back with a great deal at a good price. First Class so all I can say is ask for Benjamin.

We appreciate your recent 5* review. Your feedback is invaluable to us! We're delighted to hear that you had such a positive experience with Benjamin. We aim to provide top-notch assistance to all our customers. We look forward to booking your future adventures!

Holiday cruise and rail booking

After making my initial holiday inquiry, they followed this up by return calls but didn't over badger us to commit. Sometimes their foreign staff were a little hard to understand. This is the second time I've used the Jetline company, the first was very good. They have now confirmed everything by phone call and email

A great success!

My wife and I have used Jetline Cruise a number of times and while there have been one or two issues in the past we have consistently found them to be the best for value for money. Having just returned on 24 October 2023 from a Lake Garda stay followed by a cruise sailing out of Ravenna we have to say that this time the company really excelled itself. It was Jetline which choose our hotels in Lake Garda, Venice and Barcelona. All three were excellent and of the highest standard. Together our stays in each contributed to us having a very special and memorable holiday. Thank you Jetline.

Not as advertised

Not as advertised. First and last time with Jetline Cruises. Trip included a 3 night stay at a 4 star hotel in Niagara, out of all the passengers on the trip my husband and I were the only ones allocated what can only be described as 2 star at best. A very dated and filthy hotel room.On our return home I emailed Jetline with photos. After emails to and from Jetline their final response was in essence, you get what you are given at the time of booking, so tough luck.No responsibility taken whatsoever.

Moscow Boat Tour

  • Page active

Image

Description

See all the gems of historical and cultural center of the capital in short time and without traffic jams or tiresome walking.

Depending on the itinerary and duration of the Moscow River boat trip, the tour can be 3 or 5 hours.

Highlights of the tour

  • St Basil’s Cathedral;
  • Stalin skyscraper on Kotelnicheskaya (Tinkers) embankment;
  • The Kremlin;
  • “House on the Embankment” Stalin skyscraper;
  • Monument to Peter I;
  • The Central House of Artists;
  • Christ the Savior Cathedral;
  • Gorky Park;
  • Moscow State University;
  • Russian Academy of Sciences;
  • Luzhniki stadium;
  • Novodevichy Monastery;
  • Kiev railway station;
  • Europe Square;
  • Moscow City Hall;
  • Government House;
  • Expocentre Exhibition Complex;
  • and other famous sights.

You will learn about the different epochs of the city from the foundation in 1147 till Soviet times of 20 th  century.

Moscow River

Moskva river has the form of a snake and is the main waterway of Moscow, consisting of a cascade of reservoirs. Within the city, Moskva river is 80 km long, 120 m - 200 m wide and up to 14 m deep. The narrowest part of the river is the Kremlin area in the city center, and the most extensive is around the Luzhniki Stadium in the south.

Bridges in Moscow

Undoubtedly, bridges and embankments are among the most scenic spots and main attractions of Moscow. Plus, they are so romantic.

  • Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge –  Great Stone Bridge –  is the main bridge of Moscow . The first stone bridge was constructed here in the 17th century.
  • Patriarshy Bridge  is one of the youngest pedestrian bridges, built in 2004. The bridge connects the iconic Christ the Saviour Cathedral with funky Bersenevskaya embankment, extremely popular place among locals for its trendy art galleries, cafes and panoramic views. Patriarshy Bridge used to be a shooting location for ex-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's New Year speech to the nation.
  • Borodinsky Bridge,  erected in honor of the 100th anniversary of the glorious victory in the Battle of Borodino (which every Russian kid knows about), a fierce legendary battle during the Russo-French war of 1812.
  • Bagration Bridge  one of the  pedestrian bridges with most picturesque views of the Moskva River with its numerous upper-level observation platforms. The bridge was erected to celebrate the 850th anniversary of Moscow city in 1997.
  • Krymsky Bridge  used to be in Top 5 Europe’s longest bridges some 100 years ago. The bridge got its name after the ancient Krymsky ford which Crimean Tartars used to invade Moscow in the 16 th  century.

Embankments of Moscow

Moscow river boats 37 embankments, the most popular being Kremlevskaya, Sofiyskaya, Pushkinskaya, Vorobyovskaya and Kolomenskaya.

You can get the most spectacular views of the Kremlin from  Kremlevskaya and Sofiyskaya embankments.

  • Pushkinkaya embankment  is the most romantic in Moscow. It meanders along Gorky Park and Neskuchnyi garden and is rich for all kinds of entertainment as well as cozy nooks, including Olivkovy beach, the famous Zeleny theater as well as a pier for river cruisers.
  • Vorobyevskaya embankment  is part of Sparrow Hills nature reserve. This place opens a beautiful panorama of the river and city from the observation deck and is considered to be the place for taking serious decisions in life.
  • Embankment in Kolomenskoye  Museum-Reserve has a special charm due to its peculiar geographical relief. The boat trip around Kolomenskoye would be the most peaceful in your life.
  • Taras Shevchenko embankment  is popular among photographers for its modern Moscow City skyscrapers. Highly recommended for your night boat trip.
  • Embankments of Moscow are the pride of the capital. A distinctive feature of each of the promenades is its architecture and beautiful views. In addition, almost all the embankments of Moscow have a rich history and a lot of notable buildings.

Different epochs

Taking a walk along the Moskva River by boat, you will witness the architecture of Moscow from different eras and styles. Archaeological studies indicate that already in the XI century there stood a fortified settlement on Borovitsky hill, which is now called the Kremlin. Little fortress could not accommodate all the residents of the rapidly growing city, and the Grand Duke ordered the construction of a new Kremlin, larger than the former.

Boat trip around Kolomenskoe Park

Moscow river boat trip starts from the pier Klenovy (Maple) Boulevard and provides reat views of Nicholas Perervinsky monastery.

Nicholas Perervinsky monastery was founded at the time of the Battle of Kulikov (1380). The monastery, got its name from the surrounding area – “Pererva”, which can be translated like “tear off” and because of the location –  here it abruptly changed its course, turning to Kolomna, standing on the opposite bank.

Nowadays Kolomenskoye is State Art, Historical, Architectural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve, which doors are open to everyone who wants to get in touch with the ancient history of Russia.

Take a break from the big city hustle in the shady parks and gardens of the Kolomenskoe Museum-Reserve. Don’t miss a wonderful Church of the Ascension and Tsar Alexey’s Palace in Kolomenskoye!

Monasteries and temples

  • Novospassky Monastery
  • Founded in the 13th century on the site where now is located the Danilovsky monastery. After a few decades, in 1330, Ivan Kalita moved the monastery onto the Borovitskii hill of the Kremlin. However, in the 15th century, Spassky Monastery again moved, this time to a more spacious place on Krasnoholmskaya waterfront.
  • Church of St. Nicholas in Zayaitskom
  • Erected in the middle of the XVIII century in baroque style. The building survived after the 1812 fire, but the utensils were destoyed. Parishioners collected donations and restored the temple on their own. In Soviet times, it was closed and re-opened only in 1992.
  • Cathedral of Christ the Savior
  • The church was originally erected in honor of the victory over Napoleon and was being under construction for long 44 years. Notoriously demolished in 1937 to be a giant swimming pool under open sky. The current building was constructed in 1990s. It is the tallest and one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world.
  • The temple was built in 1679-82, during the reign of Tsar Fedor Alekseevich, in late Muscovite Baroque style and can be characterized as bonfire temple. Each gable is a symbol of a heavenly fire.
  • Novodevichy Convent
  • The most famous concent and monastery in Moscow, presumably founded in 1524. Novodevichy’s status has always been high among other monasteries, it was in this monastery where the women of the royal blood, the wives of Tsars and local rulers of Moscow were kept in prison as nuns.

Celebrity's Journey to Moscow excursion

Cool Cruiser

I will be in St. Petersburg in June on a Celebrity ship. Having been there previously, we would like to do the Journey to Moscow excursion. Celebrity lists it in the shore excursion brochure for my sail date, but it has not been available for booking on their website.

I have called Celebrity twice and both times was told that even though it is listed in the shore excursion brochure, it probably isn't being offered since it is not listed for pre-booking on the website. I have emailed Celebrity twice and received a different response. They responded that they were still working with the tour provider on the details and is not yet available for pre-booking.

Anyone have any experience with this that could offer some advice? It's frustrating that cruise line agents can be so misinformed and inconsistent in what they tell us.

Having done this one-day trip to Moscow and back on another cruise while in St. Petersburg, I might be able to share some insight. First, from dealing with some Celebrity folks about Europe options, certain of them are limited in their personal experiences and knowledge about this part of the world. Shouldn't be this way, but it is. They know more on the familiar Carib options as that is what is both closer and for which they get more of their calls/question. If they haven't done it, nor is is clear on their computer screen, they can't be of much help.

Second, that excursion to Moscow has been "evolving" during the past few years as they have switched from doing it by air flights to connection by high-speed rail. On trips like this one that is more costly and highly specialized, you will probably need to "press and push" to reach someone who is more likely to know this somewhat of a "needle in the haystack".

It's sad that you've gotten the "run-around", but sometimes the staff is not as informed and experienced as you would like, expect and need.

Do you need any background info for what you would see and do in Moscow , how it works, etc.???

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

What you said makes perfect sense. Thanks.

I also looked into doing this tour privately, but one tour provider informed me there were no available trains or planes to fit my ship's time in port. We will be there on a weekend so its possible that transportation does not run as frequent. I just wish Celebrity could get their act together and tell me definitively whether they will be offering the Moscow excursion.

If your cruise puts you into St. Petersburg on a weekend, that could be another complicating factor. Openings at certain places, rail schedules, etc., could be different for some days of the week. It is possible to do the Moscow trip by some private tour companies, but if there are any weather and/or scheduling complications, that could make things more difficult. Doing it through the cruise ship, makes it "their" problem, not yours!!

Doing the one-day trip to Moscow is very interesting and special. Lots of cruise lines do it now and have the practice down to a "science". BUT, that weekend timing could be delaying their finalization some on schedules.

I was able to book this for a June cruise in the past few days. If you look carefully in the fine print for the excursion, I believe it is because you have to begin the online check-in process since they need your passport/ID information before you can book this excursion. Try to do as much of the online check-in as you can, and I think it should appear for purchase.

It would be nice to know what the actual schedule for the Moscow excursion is. I don't believe it is actually 18.5 hours, but that is just to make sure that you can't book anything else on that day.

I was finally able to book the tour online. They just made it available for online booking the other day. I sure hope they reach the minimum number of guests so it isn't cancelled.

Not sure why it leaves at 9:30. If it indeed is an 18.5 hour tour, we won't get back until 4 am.

It looks like Celebrity edited the description to say that, for those excursions on a weekend, the actual tour will be shortened by about 2 hours due to less traffic on a weekend.

Terry (or anyone who has been on the Journey to Moscow excursion before):

Can you give me a little detail on the itinerary? The tour description says that we will have a walking tour of Red Square and the Kremlin, as well as visits to the Armoury and one of the Kremlin cathedrals. Was wondering what other Moscow sights we will get to see. Or will the rest be in the form of a panoramic bus tour? Any opportunity for souvenir shopping?

Thanks for any insights you can offer.

This was just cancelled for my cruise :( Didn't meet the minimum number of people interested in going.

There might be some options through private tour companies. We used Anastasia for our part in St. Petersburg, but she is doing these Moscow arrangements for friends, two couples, from here in Central Ohio, in late June. I would contact a couple of key, experiences firms such as Anastasia, see what she and others can offer to make this one-day train trip over and back.

Which sailing are you on that the Moscow excursion was cancelled? I booked it for my Eclipse cruise June 23 sailing and haven't heard anything

You have probably figured out now that not only excursions, but many other things aboard ship are misleading, if not downright fraudulent. The ship crew, staff and clerks are all going to do pretty much what they want to, but not only on the Royal Caribbean's Celebrity brand, but almost all cruise ships - the captain can almost get away with murder. Aren't you glad you don't have to work on one of these vessels? Also make sure you don't get involved in any type of dispute, as even some crime gets swept under the ship - well, not all, like the Costa that crashed & tipped over, but not sure even then much will happen, as all passengers signed all their rights away before they got on board.

Hope you have enjoyed your cruise by now and maybe look back here on the board. About the only way to get any knowledge about the ships, excursions, etc. is through sites like this.

As we are sailing a year from now on Celebrity Constellation - Aug 12, we were wondering too about shows aboard, excursions (both ship and private), if you ever got to Moscow, etc. Please write to us at:

We will be in St. Petersburg in July and want to take Celebrity's tour to Moscow. Please let us know if you liked it or not and how long it was. This is going to be our second time in St. Petersburg but will like to take a private tour on day #2. Did you do something the day after your Moscow tour? We are traveling with our teenagers and worry about them being too tired :rolleyes:

I thought I would bump this up. We will be on the Brilliance this time next year and are very interested in doing this our. Are there still people out there that have done it? I would love to hear what you thought of the tour, the travel part and what you were able to see while in Moscow. Was it worth the price?

Was it worth the price?[/quote'] We just did this tour and really liked it, but this was our second time in St. Petersburg. If this is your first time there I don't know if it's the best choice. You spend most of the day in airports and buses. Our meeting time at the ship was 6:45 AM, followed by a 45 min. long drive to the airport. Then we had to wait for a 10:00 AM one hour flight to Moscow. As you can see we arrived after 11:00 AM followed by another 30 minutes ride to the city. We were taken to the Red Square, to take a subway ride, followed by a coffee and tea break, then to the Kremlin armory museum (where we spend most of our time), also visited the Cathedral of the Annunciation, and back to the Red Square. Were only given half hour for shopping, followed by a really long dinner at a local restaurant. Our flight back to St. Petersburg departed half hour late, arriving at 11:30 PM. It took a while for the bus to pick us up, another 45 min. drive to the port and we were at our rooms by 1:00 AM. This means that if you want to see St. Petersburg the next day, you are going to be really tired. BTW, I'm not complaining, this tour was so popular on our cruise that they had two groups for the first time. Most of my friends were on that group and they had the worst time. Their flight left earlier than ours and although they were taken to more places than us, they ended up on a later flight and arrived in St. Petersburg after 12:30 AM. The problem was that the tour company knew that they were not going to make it on time to the bridges that connect the city to the area where the ship docks. The elevated bridges go up at 1:30 AM in the morning and are taken back after 5:00 AM. Can you believe that our tour guide made fun of the fact that the other bus was not going to make it on time? It was really frustrating for them to watch the bridges go up in front of their eyes. They finally found online a bridge that goes down for periods of 15 min. and were able to go back to the ship after 3:00 AM. Some of them couldn't make it to their tours the next day. Remember, this is Russia, if you don't make it to your tour the next day, you won't be able to leave the ship. My friends tried to take a taxi and catch up with us, but their visa stated a 9:00AM pick up time and had to stay on the ship. We liked our tour, but it is up to you to decide if it's worth it. The time that you actually spend in Moscow is really limited. If by any chance you are given a late flight on your way back, start screaming and demand an earlier flight. The tour company hired by Celebrity is going to buy the cheapest flights to make more money. Just my two cents. I tried to research this tour before our cruise and didn't find too much information. Hope this helps. BTW, I was concern about the planes used for the flights, if you are too, don't be. The flight was great and were even given a sandwich with juice or water. I do have to say that we felt that we were on a PanAm 1970's flight. The attendants were all really young, skinny and beautiful, wore heavy make up and complicated hair styles. I was also not impressed by either St. Petersburg or Moscow's airports. No restrooms close to the gates, two flights leaving at the same time through the same gate, just a mess!! Before our tour I couldn't understand how Edward Snowden could hide for such a long time on an airport, after visiting Moscow's international airport it just made sense. Hope you enjoy your Baltic cruise.

The_Big_M

Thanks for the details. I was quite curious about it. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like you got to see so much there. Fortunately as you say it was your second time in SPB, so you can compare and see the differences between the cities. They are very different.

On our Celebrity cruise, it was sold out, but I didn't come across anyone who took the tour to find out their experiences.

drarill, I had to laugh at the comment about how Snowden was able to hide in the airport ... I had wondered the same thing, but now we know!! LOL

Thank you for posting your experience. You have given me a lot to think about. It just seemed like a good idea, now I need to think really hard about it. I would hate to have our second day messed up in SPB.

We did Celebrity's Journey to Moscow excursion in July 2012. We had been to St. Petersburg before so decided to do something different. Interestingly, this excursion had been cancelled on some of the previous cruises that summer as a result of not enough people signed up. There were about 20 people on our excursion.

In a nutshell, I recommend the excursion and would do it again, but there are some caveats:

1. I would probably not go to Moscow if this was my first time visiting St. Petersburg. SP is full of wonderful sites so I would spend my two port days there seeing all the city sites, including the Hermitage, as well as visiting one of the palaces outside the city.

2. If you go to Moscow and plan on taking a tour in SP the next day, be aware (as someone else posted) that the tour returns to the ship very late and you might have difficulty getting up early enough the next morning for your SP tour. Our flight didn't land back in SP until after midnight and we were unable to cross the bridges before they rose. We didn't return back to the ship until after 2am, but because we anticipated that this might happen, we booked an afternoon private car in SP. We actually ended up enjoying being out late in SP with the bridges up as our bus and guide drove us around the city late at night and it was a surreal experience, especially during the white nights of summer.

3. We thought the time in Moscow could have been better organized, allowing us more time to see Red Square and the Kremlin buildings, but we were prevented from doing so due to horrendous traffic around Moscow, a very long-winded local tour guide, and too much time spent stopping for a coffee break (which was entirely unnecessary IMO). We also had almost no time to shop and the time spent in Red Square was much too short. Again, I mostly blamed this on our guide who talked too much rather than allowing us free time to wander around. I ditched the guide and our group before we were actually dismissed for free time so that I could wander around Red Square and make a few purchases from a street artist (local art and crafts on the street are of high quality and inexpensive IMO).

4. The dinner, while served in a beautiful, elegant setting, was mediocre at best. Lots of alcohol, but I've had better beef stroganoff in a school cafeteria.

Having provided you with these caveats, I still would take the tour again. It was a fascinating and magical experience. From the very interesting airport and airplane experience, to having the opportunity to visit the Kremlin sites and Red Square, it was worth it for us. It was a whirlwind of a tour, lasting about 18 hours from the time we left the ship until we returned.

I hope this helps others make a decision about this tour.

We are on May 21, 2017 Eclipse and want to do the same tour.

There are several trains per day even on weekends and holidays. If it is the weekend I would say you are better off flying as traffic will be a little better than on a weekday especially in the morning. There are probably several flights an hour. The train is modern and comfortable but not especially scenic.

Since you need a visa anyway you could also consider arranging a Moscow tour guide to meet you at the airport and arrange your own transport to Moscow. An airport taxi should be easy to arrange in St Petersburg or use Uber. Aeroflot tickets are easy to buy online.

  • Consent: You will be asked for your consent for us to provide you with future marketing information. You can opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us at any time by contacting our Customer Services department.
  • Legal and Vital requirements: We sometimes have a legal obligation to collect personal data from you, e.g. to comply with tax laws, or where we need your personal data to protect your vital interests or those of another person, e.g. if you are involved in an accident or emergency in resort.

How and where will your data be processed?

Any information that we hold about you is stored on our secure servers and all payment transactions are encrypted. Only authorised personnel are permitted to access personal data in the course of their work. Whilst we do our best to protect your personal data, no information transferred over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure and you provide your information at your own risk.

When your credit card details are required as part of the booking process, we store the last 4 digits and an authorisation code. In the case of some low-cost airlines, we will use the payment details you provide to purchase the flight seats on your behalf.

Where your information is transferred outside of the EEA, we will take steps to ensure that the information receives the same level of protection as if it remained within the EEA, including by entering into data transfer agreements, using the EU Commission approved Standard Contractual Clauses, or by relying on certification schemes such as the EU-US Privacy Shield. You have the right to details of the mechanism under which your data is transferred outside of the EEA – for this information, please contact us using the details set out under "How can you contact us?" below.

Retention of your personal data

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal data (for example, to provide products or services to you or to retain records to manage any claims which you or we may have in respect of the products and services we provide to you), we will either delete or anonymise it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal data has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal data and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Your rights in respect of your personal data

You have the following rights in relation to the personal data that we hold about you:

  • You can access, correct, update or request deletion of your personal data, at any time.
  • You have the right to opt-out of marketing communications we send you at any time by contacting us.
  • Once we have collected and processed your personal data with your consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your personal data conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
  • You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal data. For more information, please contact your local data protection authority. The Information Commissioner's Office is the data protection authority for the UK.
