Fast Travel (Skyrim)

  • Edit source
  • View history

Fast Travel is a method of travel in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim . It is a way of quickly "teleporting" to any previously discovered location . The travel takes place almost instantaneously in real-world time through a loading screen , but in game time will still pass by as if the Dragonborn had walked there. When using fast travel, the time elapsed may be longer than the time it would have taken to run to the destination, especially when the distance is short.

Fast Travel can be done via the world map or by using one of the carriages stationed near the main gate of many cities. Fast travel via world map is free, but can only be done to a location that has already been discovered. Travel via carriage is limited to major cities, regardless if they have been visited or not before, with a fee relative to distance and the size of the destination city (for example it costs more to travel from Whiterun to Dawnstar than from Windhelm to Solitude even though the distance between Windhelm and Solitude is greater). The Hearthfire DLC allows the Dragonborn to hire a carriage for their homestead , which will also go to smaller cities  and towns ( Darkwater Crossing , Dragon Bridge , Ivarstead , Karthwasten ,  Kynesgrove , Old Hroldan Inn , Riverwood , Rorikstead , Shor's Stone , and Stonehills ).

With Dawnguard , fast travel can also be done between Castle Volkihar and the main island of Skyrim by boat. With Dragonborn , the initial trip to Solstheim must be by boat. (Conventional fast travel can be used later, between the docks at Windhelm and Raven Rock .)

  • 2 Fast travel time

Conditions [ ]

The fast travel cannot be done while in any of the following conditions:

  • While indoors
  • While jumping
  • While falling
  • While mounting or dismounting a horse .
  • While being too close to enemies
  • While being pursued by enemies/ Hold Guards
  • While taking health damage (e.g. from poison )
  • Riding on horseback.
  • Under the effect of a Fortify Carry Weight potion that is strong enough. There is no limit on fast travel distance while the potion is in effect. However, the effect of the potion immediately wears off after the arrival causing the Dragonborn to be overburdened again.

Fast travel time [ ]

Approximate time to travel between cities/towns wearing Light Armor , measured by in-game hours:

  • The amount and type of armor worn affects how much time passes during fast travel.
  • Fast traveling while on foot or on horseback takes the same amount of time. The only difference will be how the Dragonborn arrives: on foot next to the horse, or on horseback.
  • Any positive or negative effects (such as from a disease ) will still progress during fast travel.
  • Neither the Dragonborn, their horse, or any companion will encounter any enemies during fast travel.
  • Due to the respawning of enemies , dragons and creatures being scripted to happen when fast travelling; if fast travel is never used, after a certain time, encounters with them will reduce noticeably.
  •  PC     360     PS3    When arriving at a location by fast travel, random creatures can spawn in front of the Dragonborn. For example, a non-hostile bandit might spawn every time they fast-travel, who can be talked to but will become hostile if attacked. A similar bug happens when fast-traveling to Falkreath , causing all of the Hold Guards to spawn at the entrance to the city.
  •  PC    Fast traveling with followers to northern cities like Windhelm or the College of Winterhold can trigger a sliding effect on arrival. Normally, this effect is not critical; however, it is possible to sometimes slide for a very long distance and fall from a cliff.
  •  360    After waiting in a location for a long time (two or three weeks), or if multiple other characters have been played before returning to play as the affected character, fast traveling to a location might spawn enemies that have made into thralls (or raised as zombies) in the past. They will attack each other unless they are in the same faction. (Only bandits or spiders, for example).
  •  360     PS3    If fast travel is selected to any location and the back button is immediately pressed, the fast travel will not occur, the game will no longer be paused and the character menu will not be able to be opened. The pause menu can be opened, but saving the game will be the only option that functions, not loading an existing save. The "quit game" option is available, however, allowing a more time consuming reload of the game by saving and exiting the game. Reloading the game will fix this.
  •  360 (Fix)     PS3 (Fix)    Manually shut down the console, as any attempt to open the Xbox or PS3 menu will result in the loading circles on every option and they will never load.
  •  PC     360    Fast traveling on horseback to the College of Winterhold may cause one to appear several feet above the bridge.
  •  PC (Fix)    Quickly Fast traveling to another place before the horse falls off may solve the problem.
  •  PC     360     PS3    Sometimes, when attempting to fast travel, the game will say "You cannot fast travel while guards are pursuing you," even if guards are not pursuing the Dragonborn.
  •  360     PS4    Fast traveling from a snowy location can sometimes cause it to snow in areas that do not normally experience snowy weather conditions.
  •  PC (Fix)    Fast traveling to any location will fix this.
  •  PC (Fix)    Exiting the game to the desktop restarting will fix this.
  • By opening the Journal and pressing the "show on map" button for quest objectives it is possible to access the map, and thus fast travel even under circumstances that normally prevent access to the map, such as after the Dragonborn dies or at the beginning of the game while Helgen is under attack.

Skyrim:Transport

skyrim fast travel cost

There are multiple methods of transport in Skyrim.

  • 1.1 Movement Speeds by Method and Conditions
  • 3 Dragon Riding DB
  • 4 Horse Riding
  • 6.1 Dead Man's Dread CC
  • 7 Fast Travel

Walking, Running, Strafing and Sprinting [ edit ]

Walking is the slowest speed at which you will normally move. To walk, use the movement control appropriate for your platform. You cannot move faster than at a walking pace while you are overencumbered .

You will generally spend most of your time moving at a moderate run ; running uses no stamina . You can also strafe or sidestep using the left or right "move" commands.

Sprint by holding the sprint control key (or toggle on/off for the Special Edition ). Sprinting is significantly faster than running. As it consumes stamina, you can only sprint for a limited distance. You will generally exhaust your stamina more quickly when sprinting in heavy armor or when wielding a heavy weapon.

Walking or running backwards is slower than going forwards, and you cannot sprint backwards or sideways.

Movement Speeds by Method and Conditions [ edit ]

Falling [ edit ].

Also see information on falling , which can hurt or kill you.

Dragon Riding DB [ edit ]

As part of the Dragonborn DLC, you can ride a dragon once you have acquired all three words of the Bend Will shout. For more information see Dragon Riding .

As you cannot steer a dragon while riding it, the main functionality of this method of transportation is for fast travel .

Horse Riding [ edit ]

You can travel much faster on horseback than on foot. You can also ride a horse while overencumbered for normal or fast travel. For complete information see Horses .

Carriage [ edit ]

Carriages will carry you between the nine capital cities of each hold in Skyrim for 20–50 gold. They are the fastest means to get to cities which you have not yet discovered - although in the plain game, they are only available in the five major hold capitals: the four smaller hold capitals can be the destination but not the origin of a carriage journey.

The fare to the five larger hold capitals of Markarth , Riften , Solitude , Whiterun , and Windhelm costs 20 gold, whereas going to the four smaller hold capitals of Dawnstar , Falkreath , Morthal , and Winterhold costs 50 gold.

With the Hearthfire add-on , homestead carriages also provide transport from the three homesteads to Darkwater Crossing , Dragon Bridge , Ivarstead , Karthwasten , Kynesgrove , Old Hroldan Inn , Riverwood , Rorikstead , Shor's Stone , and Stonehills . There is no charge for these services beyond the initial cost of hiring the carriage driver.

When first arriving at one of the five major hold capitals, you can speak with the carriage operator for some local information. Carriages will not operate when you are overencumbered .

The carriage drivers are:

  • Alfarinn ( Windhelm )
  • Bjorlam ( Whiterun )
  • Engar ( Windstad Manor ) HF
  • Gunjar ( Lakeview Manor ) HF
  • Kibell ( Markarth )
  • Markus ( Heljarchen Hall ) HF
  • Sigaar ( Riften )
  • Thaer ( Solitude )

Ferrymen DG [ edit ]

Three ferrymen are added by the Dawnguard add-on and can transport you between three coastal cities for 50 gold, or to Icewater Jetty for 500 gold. You can also take a self-service ferry between Icewater Jetty and Volkihar Keep .

With the Bittercup Creation , you may have to ask Harlaug to bring you to the island of Giant's Tooth . He will continue to offer transport to the remote island for 50 gold.

  • Gort ( Windhelm )
  • Harlaug ( Dawnstar )
  • Jolf ( Solitude )

skyrim fast travel cost

Dead Man's Dread CC [ edit ]

With the Dead Man's Dread Creation , you will have the opportunity to acquire the Dead Man's Dread , an ancient pirate ship that serves as a player home . Once you have claimed the ship as your own, a map inside allows for instant sea transportation. This map will bring you to Solitude, Dawnstar, or Windhelm. You will also unlock the ability to travel to Volkihar Keep (or rather, Icewater Jetty) and Raven Rock once you have discovered these places. This mode of travel is one-way.

Fast Travel [ edit ]

You can fast travel from any exterior location to any location marked on your in-game map and which you have discovered (visited). Discovered locations are indicated on your map or compass with light-colored markers. Dark-colored markers, on the other hand, are places you have had marked on your map but have not yet discovered yourself, and therefore are not available for fast travel. Although fast travel transports you "instantly", a more "realistic" amount of game time will have passed upon arrival; however, such elapsed travel times are the same whether on foot or horseback.

With the Dragonborn expansion, fast traveling while riding a dragon transports you almost instantly in game time.

You cannot fast travel when near any hostile enemies, when overencumbered (unless you are on a horse), nor when falling, jumping, or during the animation of mounting a horse. Fast travel is totally disabled when playing in Survival Mode , except while riding a dragon.

Fast Travel

  • VisualEditor
  • View history

Fast Travel is available from the world map . On the map, dark markers indicate locations you know about but have not yet visited, while light markers indicate locations you have discovered. Select any light marker to travel there.

You cannot fast travel from interiors or while in combat . While fast travelling, time moves forward depending on how far you go. If you have a horse, it will fast travel with you. If you fast travel to a city, your horse will be placed in the nearest stable.

The name of this method of transportation can be misleading as within the game, the time taken to reach the destination is not any shorter, it only appears instantaneous to the player.

How to Fast Travel in Skyrim: Exploring the Different Ways of Quickly Moving Around the Map

Introduction

Fast travel is a popular feature in many video games that allows players to move quickly between two specific locations on the map. In the world of Skyrim, fast traveling is an essential part of exploring the vast landscape and uncovering hidden secrets. This article will explore the different ways you can fast travel in Skyrim and provide tips for utilizing each method.

Use Console Commands to Fast Travel in Skyrim

Use Console Commands to Fast Travel in Skyrim

Console commands are a great way to access fast travel in Skyrim. These commands allow players to instantly teleport from one location to another without having to physically move the character. To use this method, simply open the console and type in the command “coc [location]”. This will transport the player to the specified location.

Accessing the console commands requires enabling the developer console. This can be done by opening the game settings and selecting the “Enable Console” option. Once enabled, the console can be opened by pressing the tilde (~) key while in-game.

Using console commands to fast travel has its advantages and drawbacks. On the one hand, it is much faster than traditional travel methods and allows players to quickly explore the map. On the other hand, using console commands can disrupt the natural flow of the game and break immersion.

Exploring the World of Skyrim with Quick Traveling

Exploring the map quickly is one of the main benefits of fast traveling in Skyrim. Players can take advantage of unmarked locations, such as hidden caves, secret dungeons, and unique points of interest. By utilizing the map markers system, players can easily locate these locations and plan their next adventure.

The map markers system is a helpful tool for quickly navigating the world of Skyrim. By pressing the M key, players can view all of the areas they have visited and mark them for easy reference. This makes it easier to find hidden locations and plan out routes for exploration.

Learn How to Unlock the Carriage System for Faster Travel

The carriage system is a great way to quickly travel between cities in Skyrim. To unlock this feature, players must first locate a stable. Stables can be found in most major cities, such as Whiterun, Riften, and Solitude. Once located, players can purchase a ride from the stable master.

Understanding the cost of traveling by carriage is important. Each ride costs a certain amount of gold, depending on the distance traveled. Additionally, some locations may require additional fees or special permissions before allowing access. Players should make sure they have enough money and the necessary items before attempting to use the carriage system.

Learning how to use the carriage system is also important. After purchasing a ride, players must select the destination they wish to travel to. The carriage system will then automatically transport the player to the selected location.

Take Advantage of Horse Riding to Speed up Your Journey

Take Advantage of Horse Riding to Speed up Your Journey

Horse riding is another great way to quickly traverse the world of Skyrim. To do this, players must purchase a horse from a stable. Different breeds of horses can be found in stables throughout the land. Each breed provides unique stats and abilities, so it is important to choose the right horse for the job.

Understanding the benefits of horse riding is important. Horses can move faster than a typical character and can cover long distances in a short amount of time. Additionally, horses can be used to jump over obstacles and navigate difficult terrain.

Exploring different horse breeds is also beneficial. Different breeds of horses offer different stats and abilities. For example, some breeds may have higher speed or better stamina. Players should experiment with different breeds to find the right horse for their needs.

Utilize the Network of Wayshrines to Reduce Your Travel Time

Utilize the Network of Wayshrines to Reduce Your Travel Time

Wayshrines are a great way to quickly travel around Skyrim. These magical structures allow players to instantly teleport from one location to another. Wayshrines can be found in most major cities and towns, as well as in some remote locations.

Locating wayshrines is the first step in using this method of fast travel. Players can use the map markers system to easily find wayshrines in the area. Additionally, some wayshrines are marked on the map, making them even easier to locate.

Understanding the benefits of wayshrines is important. Using a wayshrine allows players to instantly teleport to any other wayshrine in the network. This reduces travel time greatly, allowing players to quickly explore new areas.

Interacting with wayshrine NPCs is another important part of fast traveling in Skyrim. These NPCs can provide information about the area, as well as offer quests and other activities for players to participate in.

Fast traveling in Skyrim can be a great way to quickly explore the world and uncover hidden secrets. By utilizing console commands, map markers, the carriage system, horse riding, and wayshrines, players can quickly move around the map and reduce their travel time. Whether you’re exploring the land or tackling a quest, understanding how to fast travel in Skyrim is essential.

Helpful Skyrim Tricks Help Players Fast Travel and More When Over Encumbered With Loot

These helpful tricks in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim will help players deal with being over encumbered, allowing them to fast travel and more.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is nearing its 10th anniversary, and so the classic open world game from Bethesda has been enjoying some renewed attention from the community. It seems many fans are returning to  The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim while they wait for news on  The Elder Scrolls 6 , while others are discovering the game for the first time. Dedicated Skyrim  players may already know all the tricks they can utilize to make things a little easier on them, but with the game nearly 10 years old at this point, it's safe to say that even some returning players may not know everything they can do in the game.

YouTuber ESO Shorts has been sharing helpful  Skyrim tips on their channel for months now, including some that help players who wind up over encumbered with loot. For the uninitiated,  Skyrim players that carry too much loot will have a frustratingly slow-moving character to deal with and won't be able to fast-travel anywhere to stash or sell their treasures. This can be annoying, but as pointed out in ESO Shorts videos, there are some ways around it.

RELATED: Amusing Skyrim Mod Renames All Frost Trolls to 'Tim Allen'

ESO Shorts' first tip about fast-traveling in  Skyrim is a simple one. Basically, if  Skyrim players have a horse nearby , they can mount it and will be able to freely fast-travel just as they would if they weren't over encumbered.

ESO Shorts' other method for fast-traveling while over encumbered in  Skyrim has a few more steps to it. It involves the old  Skyrim trick of using corpses for storage . Players can dump all of their belongings onto a corpse so that they are no longer over encumbered, and then they can drag the dead body around with them. As explained in ESO Shorts' video, it's also possible for players to use the Reanimate Spell or The Ritual Stone to animate the corpse and have it follow them on their adventures.

Once the corpse is up and walking around, players can fast-travel anywhere on  Skyrim 's map and the walking corpse should be right there with them. When  Skyrim players are ready to regain their loot, they can simply kill the corpse, rinse and repeat as necessary. Either method seems like it will be very helpful for any  Skyrim players who want to avoid getting over encumbered when starting up any new playthroughs.

Anyone interested in jumping back into  Skyrim should note that there are numerous ways to do so. The game is available on basically every modern console, with there even being a  Skyrim Switch port available so fans can play it on the go.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is out now for PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

skyrim fast travel cost

Skyrim Fast Travel Mods can be used to either enable or disable Fast Travel. In this article, we’ll show you how to change the settings for these mods.

Top Fast Travel Mods in Skyrim

Fast travel mods for Skyrim are quite handy for people who want to save time or have an easier time exploring Tamriel’s vast realm. Fast Travel Mods enable users to go between areas fast and easily without physically traversing the environment. Fast travel mods are available for players to pick from, each with its own set of perks and features.

“ Travel Anywhere ” is the most popular rapid travel mod. This patch provides many additional rapid travel options, such as a virtual map, better teleport spells that no longer need spell purchases, and the ability to teleport straight inside dungeons and other areas in Skyrim’s environment. This mod also includes a number of extra features, such as limiting rapid travel to particular regions, making some factions hostile when traveling, and more.

Other popular mods include:

  • Faster Than Light , which speeds up movement over long distances;
  • No More Wait , which minimizes travel wait times; and
  • Instant Travel , which enables players to immediately shift between any two spots on the world.

Fast Travel Mods may let you explore Tamriel more efficiently and enjoyably.

Better Fast Travel Carriages and Ships Overhauled

Better Fast Travel Carriages and Ships Overhauled is a Skyrim fast travel mod that offers new transportation choices for players to utilize when traveling throughout the game. The update introduces ten new ships and nine new carriages , all of which have been meticulously tuned to give players with speedier and more effective means to travel Skyrim’s geography.

Carriages may be leased in numerous towns, while ships can be found docked in certain spots. Players benefit from faster trip times and may reach their destination considerably faster than previously with this update. Players also have the advantage of being able to dodge challenging terrain or hazardous enemies that might otherwise delay or hurt them on a normal voyage.

The mod is very customisable and can be enabled/disabled using the game launcher’s mods menu as well as scripting commands.

Better Horses

The Better Horses mod for Skyrim Fast Travel allows users to make their horses significantly quicker than the default game. This makes traversing Skyrim considerably faster and more efficient.

With this mod, players may now buy, tame, and breed horses , as well as design personalized stables for their steeds and modify all of the horse’s colors and attributes. Players may even ride during fights while using this Fast Travel mod, and horse-related minigames can be added by installing additional relevant mods.

Players may activate and disable Better Horses in the game’s options menu if they are running a Quick Travel mod that adds additional places or a fast travel menu. This enables players to pick whether they want the horses they’ve acquired or tamed to go throughout Skyrim at extremely fast speeds or at regular rates while still being able to personalize them.

Marelos Overhaul

Marelos Overhaul is an Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim mod that lets users modify how they utilize fast travel . It also adds additional options for activating and inhibiting fast travel, such as giving players discretion over when and where fast travel is permitted.

The mod also includes additional features such as the option to deactivate quick travel in certain places and make it accessible just at specific times of day or night. Finally, the Marelos Overhaul mod allows players to change the pace of movement when Fast Traveling , making it quicker or slower based on the player’s preferred play style. All of these choices are advantageous for people seeking a more personalized experience with their Skyrim playthroughs.

Skyrim Disable Fast Travel

Skyrim Disable Fast Travel is a mod for the popular video game Skyrim. This hack disables quick movement inside the game, requiring players to navigate the globe manually. It does, however, enable the player to employ mods and teleport techniques other than basic rapid travel.

The mod is excellent for individuals who desire a more realistic feeling of reality or just want to explore more of Tamriel without depending on rapid teleportation. It may also help to extend playtime in Skyrim by requiring players to complete side missions and spend more time exploring rather than depending on quick travel.

There are multiple versions of this mod available, each with unique features and setups that may be customized based on user preferences. This mod may be found on Nexus Mods , and installation instructions are given in the readme file .

Carriage and Ferry Travel Overhaul (Formerly Complete Fast Travel Overhaul)

The Carriage and Ferry Travel Overhaul , originally known as the Complete Fast Travel Overhaul , is a Skyrim multiple marriage mod. This patch enables players to go to any place by boat or horse-drawn carriage while keeping the game’s fundamental rapid travel mechanism.

The mod makes the journey more engaging, as well as more realistic and touching . It also includes new animations, music effects, camera angles, and character models, all with the goal of making the game environment seem more alive and dynamic.

This mod also contains a number of options that allow players to choose how quickly they can travel long distances without losing immersion. The patch also considerably improves the overall Skyrim travel experience by introducing a number of quests and destinations that can only be accessed by utilizing the new modes of transportation given by Carriage and Ferry Travel Overhaul .

Fast Travel From Interiors

Fast Move from Interiors is a Skyrim mod that allows the player to travel quickly from their present position, even if they are already inside. The mod will enable players to fast travel to any area they have previously found while within another building, dungeon, or any other interior . This improves the convenience of rapid transit and allows players to move around more quickly. It also avoids the need to exit and then re-enter an interior space upon returning.

Fast Travel From Interiors will also make questing simpler by letting players to finish each job step more efficiently, with less time spent waiting for each changeover. Players will be able to move quicker between quest stages since they will be able to go straight from each interior place without first entering back into the overworld. This mod is ideal for anybody who appreciates ease and quickness in their gaming experience.

Thats All Folks!

That’s All Folks. marks the end of Skyrim Fast Travel Mods . These mods allow you to activate and disable quick travel in-game, making for a more immersive gaming experience. When activated, rapid travel lets players to explore Tamriel swiftly and effortlessly without having to worry about lengthy, tiresome travels. When disabled, however, players are forced to depend on horseback riding and walking from one location to the next.

Some modders also develop complex fast travel systems that need particular goals to be accomplished before teleporting from one location to another. These mods may add a new level of difficulty and complexity to the original game.

That’s All Folks. ” acts as a nice reminder that you are now prepared for your next excursion.

Skyrim – How to Fast Travel Between Towns, Cities, and More

Image of Chris Jecks

How to Fast Travel – Skyrim

Fast travelling is going to be your best friend in Skyrim. The world is massive, and you’ll be juggling a ton of quests constantly sending you to each corner of it. To make sure you don’t waste your life running around the map, here’s how to fast travel and save yourself a lot of headaches.

First, you’ll need to make sure you’re outside. You won’t be able to fast travel inside a cave, building, or other structure. Next, make sure you aren’t in combat and that there aren’t any enemies nearby. You won’t be able to fast travel unless you’re safe. And last up on the warnings list, you cannot fast travel if you’re overburdened, or carrying more in item weight than the max capacity your stamina affords you.

Then, pull out your map. Hit Circle on PlayStation and B on Xbox to bring up your menu, then hit the down button to head to your map. Move your cursor over a landmark you’ve visited at least once before, be it a city, a cave, or other notable location. Select this, and choose to fast travel there at the prompt. You’ll then find yourself magically teleported to your desired spot.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Mods Undercut Capcom’s Controversial Microtransactions, Dish Out Infinite Save Slots

A pawn in the game..

Wesley Yin-Poole Avatar

Just days after Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched amid a controversy over its microtransactions, modders have worked their magic, making much of what publisher Capcom is selling day-one available for free.

As IGN has reported, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is currently embroiled in a vociferous debate about its day-one microtransactions , which let players pay real-world money for useful items in the $70 single-player action role-playing game.

Items that can be obtained in-game or as paid DLC items include a character editor called Art of Metamorphosis, warp location markers (Portcrystals), Wakestones, which restore the dead to life, and gaol keys, which, as you’d expect, let players escape from gaol. Players can also buy a lightweight Explorer’s Camping Kit for $2.99.

These microtransactions have sparked a controversy not just for the sheer number available day-one, but because they make parts of the game deliberately designed to challenge players in certain ways either easier, less frustrating, or quicker. Players have already pointed out that these microtransactions help with fast-travel, which in Dragon's Dogma 2 is restricted. Players require expensive and rare Ferrystones to teleport to designated Portcrystals. A Portcrystal, which costs $2.99 as a microtransaction, can be set at a destination of your choice. You then use a Ferrystone to instantly transport your party to the Portcrystal's location. (For more, here's How Fast Travel Works and How to Get Ferrystones .)

Now, modders have provided all of these items for free on the PC version of Dragon’s Dogma 2. At the time of publication, the second most-popular Dragon’s Dogma 2 mod on NexusMods is Crazy’s Shop , by Crazy Potato. This mod, essentially a fast travel pack, adds hundreds of each of these key items, including Elite and Explorer’s Camp Kits, Wakestones, Rift Crystals, Portcrystals, and Ferrystones to the first shop in Vernworth. It’s been downloaded nearly 35,000 times.

Also among the most-popular Dragon’s Dogma 2 mods is ‘ Early n' Cheap Art of Metamorphosis ’, which adds the Art of Metamorphosis tome to the first merchant in Melve and to Philbert's Sundries in Vernworth. This mod, created by SilverEzredes, has been downloaded over 21,000 times.

Also popular at launch is Lennard Fonteijn’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 Save Manager . As IGN has explained, saving in Dragon’s Dogma 2 doesn’t work like you expect . You have one save slot, and that slot is constantly overwritten by three types of saves: manual saves, autosaves, and inn saves. Because Dragon’s Dogma 2 doesn’t allow for multiple save slots, autosaves replace your manual save. The save manager mod keeps track of your saves and lets you set them as active as you play the game, virtually giving you infinite save slots.

Bizarrely, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has no ‘new game’ or ‘delete save’ option, which leaves players stuck with their initial playthrough. Capcom has told PC players it’s looking into adding the option of starting a new game to the Steam version, at least. Fonteijn’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 save manager lets players delete a selected save and switch to new character saves, allowing them to get around this odd feature of the game. And in a recent update, the mod added a button to force Dragon's Dogma 2 to let you create a new game.

IGN has already reported on a modder who enabled Dragon’s Dogma 2’s own hidden DLSS 3 implementation for RTX 40 Series GPU owners, but there are loads of other useful mods already available for the game, including one that lets you make all items weigh nothing .

Despite its ‘mixed’ user review rating on Steam, Dragon’s Dogma 2 set a new record for concurrent players of a single-player Capcom game on Valve’s platform. If you’re playing Dragon’s Dogma 2, be sure to check out Which Vocation to Choose , Things to Do First , Things Dragon's Dogma 2 Doesn't Tell You , and our Walkthrough hub.

In Morrowind, fast travel was more strategic and less precise. I doubt very much that anyone would play Skyrim without any fast travel at all for any length of time.
