Phong Nha crowds during International New Year and transport question

I'm finalizing my itinerary for a December/January trip to Vietnam. Currently I have a plan for us to arrive in Phong Nha and explore caves January 1st and 2nd. I just realized that those days are also Vietnamese holidays. Will the caves be very busy on those days, with Vietnamese tourists as well as foreign tourists? Hi, we are a middle aged couple travelling to Vietnam. Flying in and out of HCMC 3rd Feb - 18th Feb. With an idea of spending 2/3 days in HCMC either start or end of travel, cruise Mekong Delta for a couple of nights again either start or end of travel. Travel from Phong Nha to Lao Bao

Will need to travel from Phong Nha to Lao Bao (for a visa run) in April.  I have heard that the road via Lang Mo, Tan Ly, Xe Pu, Ta Rung etc is very scenic and well worth doing (albeit this comment was in relation to an “easy rider” style trip and not by car and driver which would be my preference).  Anyone care to comment about how long this might take?  Or if it is “worth it” or a good idea.  Or if it is better to just take the main road by car or do the car - tr ...

Trip Report - North Vietnam

Just returned from a 3 week trip to North Vietnam. Overall, I was thrilled to return not only to Vietnam, but to overseas travelling after a rather difficult 2 years. I went the slow travel route, about a week at each destination allowing for poor weather, possible illness ( I did get a nasty cold towards the end which put a dampener on things) and to get a feel for the area and develop a little rapport with a coffee shop worker or a local pho bo vendor.

Hi, time to get out and about again, so we are planning 2 weeks in Vietnam in October! So my first question is, how bad really is the monsoon season?  Do we need to be concerned and is there anywhere we seriously need to avoid as a result?

I am planning a trip to Hoi An for 2023 and am looking for some good family friendly accommodation options. My son will be 20 months old.
