The Salon at PS

We live in a subscription-obsessed world and there’s a subscription for everything you can imagine, from razors to clothing and even hot sauces. Travel memberships are on the rise, providing new ways to ease some of the stress that comes with traveling these days and help make the journey more seamless.

Whether you’re willing to pay a premium for exclusive travel experiences that provide a little more privacy or you're more budget-conscious and want to find the best travel deals, there’s a membership for every type of traveler. Here are 10 travel memberships that are worth considering.

Wheels Up King Air 350i on runway

Wheels Up offers private jet charter memberships so travelers can access a fleet of aircrafts, including a King Air 350i, an 8-passenger Citation Excel/XLS, and one of the fastest aircrafts, the Citation X. Wheels Up uses a dynamic pricing model offering competitive rates, so members can book flights on-demand with the flexibility to pay as they go.

Additional m embership benefits include invites to signature events, President’s Circle status with Hertz, a complimentary trial of Inspirato Club subscription for 12 months (Core members only), certain perks at select Waldorf Astoria hotels across North America, a partnership with Delta SkyMiles, dedicated partnership rates with Porsche and more.

Membership cost: Three membership options are available – Connect, Core and Business. The Connect membership requires a one-time initiation fee of $2,995 and annual dues of $2,495 which begin on year two. The Core membership has an initiation fee of $17,500 and annual dues of $8,500 which begin on year two. The Business membership requires an initiation fee of $29,500 and $14,500 for subsequent years and includes up to six lead passengers.

A private suite at PS at LAX

Getting through airport security lines can be a drag, especially during holiday weekends and a pandemic that has increased the demand for more seclusion when traveling. PS (formerly known as Private Suite) is designed for first and business class travelers who are seeking privacy and convenience, allowing them to bypass LAX altogether.

Travelers check into a private terminal where they can relax in a fully-stocked luxury private suite that includes complimentary in-suite meals catered by h.wood Group , as well as additional services upon request such as in-suite massages, manicures and detailing services for personal cars. PS also provides a designated on-site TSA and Customs agent for expedited screening.

Upon boarding, travelers are transported across the tarmac directly to their aircraft in a BMW 7 Series sedan. Earlier this year, the Salon at PS launched, which features a new full-service lounge at the terminal for travelers who want the same benefits of PS but seek a more social experience.

Membership cost: Annual membership costs $4,500, which gives members access to a preferred rate of $3,250 for a one-way Suite experience for up to four travelers. The Salon is available to members and non-members for $695 per use per person.

Vail Grand View Great Room

Inspirato is a subscription-based luxury travel service that gives members exclusive access to over 150,000 luxury vacation homes and resorts around the world that are staffed by Inspirato. There are two membership types: Inspirato Club and Inspirato Pass. The former gives you access to the luxury residences and hotels around the world, on-site concierge and daily housekeeping with additional benefits such as late check-in and check-out, room upgrades, spa credits and more. However, members also pay nightly room rates.

With the Inspirato Pass, you automatically get the benefits of Inspirato Club plus nightly rates are already factored into the price of membership, so you can book as many vacations as possible in one month with one active reservation at a time. There is also no long-term commitment, so you can cancel the membership at any time.

Membership cost: Inspirato Club membership is $600/month plus a $600 enrollment fee and you pay nightly rates as you go. Inspirato Pass is a flat rate of $2,500/month which includes all hotel stays.

Scott’s Cheap Flights

Scott and Brian

A membership to Scott’s Cheap Flights is best for travelers who have flexibility on the destination and dates and are willing to fly based on low airfare rates. Flight deals don’t last long so you’ll have to act fast.

Membership cost: There are three membership tiers including Limited which is free, Premium costs $49/year and Elite $199/year.

PRIOR was started by a former travel editor who saw a gap in the market for travelers wanting a more immersive experience during their vacation. A team of experienced travel editors and local tastemakers on the ground design itineraries for curious travelers.

A PRIOR WORLD membership includes access to curated destination guides, unique local experiences in cities around the world, pre-planned group trips led by experts and for an additional fee, the team can create a custom itinerary based on your interests.

If you're a frequent traveler, PRIOR BESPOKE might be the membership better suited for you. For a flat fee per year, members get unlimited trip planning by their expert team of travel editors and membership managers.

Membership cost: PRIOR WORLD membership costs $249 per annum. PRIOR BESPOKE is $5,000 per annum.

Priority Pass

The Club MCO Lounge at Orlando International Airport, accessible via Priority Pass

Airport terminals may have come a long way in the last decade, but killing time for a three-hour layover in a crowded airport isn’t exactly on anyone’s list of things to do, especially on vacation. Trade the busy terminals for private lounge access with Priority Pass and enjoy guaranteed Wi-Fi and snacks.

Members of Priority Pass receive access to over 1,300 airport lounges globally, including several airline lounges such as Virgin Atlantic, Air France and Turkish Airlines. Several credit cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, American Express Platinum and Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express offer free Priority Pass memberships as part of their member benefits.

Membership cost: Choose from three membership tiers which start at $99/year for the Standard membership plus $32 per visit and go up to $429/year for the Prestige membership which includes unlimited lounge visits.

CLEAR touchless identification

TSA Pre-Check and Global Entry are services that allow travelers to expedite the security screening process upon departure and arrival. With CLEAR Plus, enrolled members get escorted to the front of the security line once they’ve been verified using facial recognition or fingerprint scans, so they no longer have to verify identification at security. However, for expedited clearance through security screenings, TSA Pre-Check or Global Entry are still required.

CLEAR uses biometric identifiers to create a unique ID assigned to each member that is used for verification at stations across airports, stadiums and other major venues nationwide.

Membership cost: A CLEAR Plus membership is $179 per year. American Express Platinum Card Members receive a $179 statement credit and United MileagePlus members receive a discounted membership rate.

Grand Palladium Travel Club Membership horror story

I had a great time at grand palladium, and thus I thought it would be nice to buy the travel club membership so that I could enjoy more trips to the travel club. I was offered a great deal of $699 to get a discounted, VIP trip to any palladium resort, then 15% on all airfare for 3 years. Later, I realized that this was not true. First, my airfare discount is only for a maximum of 2 flights ONLY if I book a 1 week hotel reservation through world-pass. Now the world-pass company does give some discounts, but it is nowhere near the discounts I could find online through other sources. On top of that, the "3-year membership" was only for 2 years. Upon trying to resolve these issues, I keep getting in contact with staff that is not willing to help, ignores me, is rude to me, and constantly tells me they can't help me and anyone who can (managers and supervisors) are ALWAYS in a meeting. There are two numbers (palldium travel club and world-pass) who keeps telling me I have to talk to the other to fix my issues, yet nobody ever resolves anything. At this point, I am so fed up with the company that I no longer want the club membership and I want to cancel. Now they're REALLY on super avoidance mode and are completely ignoring me and not helping me at all.... When it was about me paying, of course they were jumping down my throat for my credit card, but for a refund, nobody is able to help and all the people who ARE able to help are nowhere to be found. Is this how a company should do business? Overall, the resort is great, beautiful beaches, the food is really bad, but the atmosphere and excursions are great. However, DO NOT JOIN PALLADIUM TRAVEL CLUB! It is a scam and they will never help you with anything. TERRIBLE customer service and unwillingness to do ANYTHING. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. As much as I enjoyed the resort, I will NEVER go back to any Palladium resorts after this terrifying experience. More

Food only ok - xmas eve was extremely busy and the staff provided an exceptional service along with very good food - apart from that food was only so so and long queues at times........so clearly far from 4 or even 5 star rating. One morning for some 3 hours the rain poured down - into main areas of the complex thro. roofs, due to the polished tiles it was difficult to walk anywhere. Staff were excellent and very accommodating even during difficult busy periods. Would definitely return to the area, however, would try an alternative complex

My review will be short... I hate super long reviews. There are better all-inclusives than this one for similar prices. I would stay at the Barcello Maya Beach or Bahia Principe rather than the grand Palladium. Some issues: 1) the kids club is not well run. They forgot about my son in the waterpark. I had to complain to the management. 2) They say the restaurants dont require reservations. They should really say, "we will not take reservations from YOU". Unless you're a returning guest, you can't make a dinner reservation. So get ready to wait for up to 1.5 hours. 3) The volleyball court is aweful. I love playing beach volleyball and was really disappointed. If you love playing volleyball on the beach stay away... As a general overall review, the resort is ok. I'm sure some people really enjoyed it. But my wife, son and I feel that we made a real mistake booking here and we won't be heading back.

Dear Wopper, We want to thank you for your preference in selecting our Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa hotel for your holidays as well as for taking the time to tell us about your stay as this will help us to know how to improve our services and offer splendid holiday experiences to all our guests. Although we were very saddened to read that our Service did not live up to your expectations, we are grateful for the time you took out of your day to reach out to us and notify us of your experience. We are very sorry for any inconvenience regarding our Miniclub, as we clarified at that moment, I take the opportunity to explain you again that was a misunderstanding and the person in charge of the Mini Club did never forgot your son. Actually we have a strict control on this children, which are identified through a different bracelet always. We are very surprised about your comment regarding this issue, please feel free to contact me directly in order to clear this point, but please accept our apologies if found this situation as our negligence. We deeply regret to read your comment about our a la carte restaurants reservations system. I would like to point out more about this system. The reservations in advance are only necessary for the Punta Emilia Beach restaurant, the special BBQ and the Sumptuary Japanese restaurant. Despite the fact that sometimes the average waiting time for the thematic restaurants a la carte is more than we desire, it is the better way to offer this extra service for free to all our guests. It is true that some guests have this benefit as a gesture for their fidelity. We lament if that was an inconvenience for you, but we are pretty sure with a 15 different places it does not represent a high disadvantage. Hopefully we will be able to fulfill your expectations in the near future if you are considering to come back, and remain at your entire disposal for any request you might have regarding coming vacations. Sincerely yours, Lourdes Estrada Accommodation Manager Grand Palladium Colonial & Kantenah Resort & Spa

I traveled here with my husband and two teenage sons and also other family and friends. We stayed Dec.17-31. We round tripped from airport to hotel with Canada Transfer. They were great and would recommend them. Check in was good, the bell man took us in a cart to our villa. We had a great room villa 9 #1931. King bed, top floor, close to the pool and beach. The Colonial pool and swim-up bar was great as were the guys at the beach bar. The beach was beautiful, lots of seaweed that the workers tried hard to get rid of. The ocean was often warmer than the pool! I found the food okay, it's a buffet, so my expectations weren't high, my husband didn't really like it. We only tried one a la carte, Brazilian, didn't like it. They have archery, rifle shooting, and a gym, but you have to be 18 or older. Overall nice, but a little to big for us.

Dear LuvPlmTrs, Thank you very much for your review on your recent holiday experience in december at our Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa hotel, we are thrilled you enjoyed most aspects of your stay among us. Guest satisfaction is our number one goal and there is nothing better than achieving it. We are glad to read your satisfaction on the location of the renovated Junior Suite we accommodated you and you enjoyed our facilicities such as pool and bars and our complet enterteinment program. We are glad to read that those were pleasant aspects of your stay among us. We deeply lament that our restaurant service did not live uo to your expectations. The gastronomy being an important aspect for us, our talented Chefs do their utmost to please all palates. Thank you for making us your choice hotel when visiting Riviera Maya and for your heartwarming review and your nice recommendation; we hope that you had a pleasant journey back home and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future and provide you with another enjoyable experience. Kindest Regards, Lourdes Estrada Accommodation Manager Grand Palladium Colonial & Kantenah Resort & Spa

Two weeks at the resort in November/ December 2014. We used the comments from other Tripadvisor contributors to select our seats on the Thomson Dreamliner, booking a taxi transfer and our rooms, thank you for all the very helpful comments they helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Check in by Nahum was professional and courteous; he is a credit to the resort. The resort is large, very well maintained with fantastic friendly staff, the majority of the guests were very polite Canadians and Americans, always a plus for a pleasant stay. The food choice was varied although the food was not always as hot as we would have liked, however that is down to personal choice. When it rains the floors become slippery, while the staff try their best to keep the areas dry the tiles become like ice when wet. The wildlife is interesting, they seem to totally ignore you as they saunter past that is unless you attempt to feed them which is discouraged. Would we go back, yes, would we recommend the resort most definitely.

Dear Noel58, There is no better reward for us to read our guests’ full satisfaction on their stay at our Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa hotel, we are sincerely grateful for the time you took out of your day to share such a praising 5 star review on your overall holiday experience among us. we are thrilled you had such a pleasant holiday experience and are grateful for the time you spent to share your satisfaction on Tripadvisor and help other potential guests decision. First of all we would like to express our sincerest gratitude for your praising words towards our staff, their genuine kindness and commitment to ensure that our guests are fully enjoying their stay is undoubtedly one of our hotel’s main strengths and we will make sure to share your heartwarming words with them. It is always a great source of motivation for our staff to hear that our guests appreciated their services and attention to detail. Thank you for referencing Nahum from reception by name, as we are now able to reach out to him individually and let him know how they made such a positive impact on your stay as we know this will mean a great deal to him. It is wonderful to read that you loved every aspect of your stay, from the wonderfun wildlife around us to the quality of our buffets; the gastronomy being an important aspect for us, our talented Chefs do their utmost to please all palates; It is enjoyable to read that we were able to conquer yours. The Aeroméxico round-the-world ticket is a great way to travel. It seems the more countries you visit, the more of the world you want to see. If you’ve been bitten by the travel bug and you just can’t wait to jetset around the globe, you can book a SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass with Aeroméxico Club Premier Points and see up to 15 countries on a single itinerary.

You might think that a redemption like this is reserved for the super elite of the points and miles world, similar to George Clooney’s character in the film “Up in the Air.” However, you don’t have to fly hundreds of thousands of miles per year to earn enough points for a round-the-world trip.

Let’s take a deep dive into this award redemption that can literally take you around the globe.

What Is an Aeromexico Round The World Ticket?

Aeroméxico is a Mexico-based airline, and it’s a member of the SkyTeam alliance. Airline alliances allow you to book flights on any partner’s flight with the points of another partner.

For instance, if you purchase a flight to Paris through Delta Air Lines, you might notice that the flight is operated by Air France. That is because Delta and Air France are both SkyTeam members, allowing you to book an Air France ticket with your Delta SkyMiles.

No single airline services the entire globe. However, as an alliance, SkyTeam has a worldwide reach. A round-the-world ticket allows you to book a trip visiting multiple countries all over the world on one pre-planned itinerary. Each stay in a city is known as a stopover. These aspirational trips are a bucket list for many.

Does that sound like a dream trip? Let’s look at how you can book a trip like this on your own.

aeromexico

Aeromexico SkyTeam Round The World Pass Rules

The SkyTeam Round the World Pass from Aeroméxico is a fairly straight forward ticket in comparison to those offered by competitors.

Club Premier permits up to 15 stopovers with a maximum of five stopovers on each continent. Neither the city you depart from nor the city where you end your trip count as stopovers. Although you need to arrive in the same country as you left, you don’t need to end your trip in the same city.

Travel must be around the world in a continuous direction. For instance, you could leave from San Francisco (SFO), visit five cities in Asia, five cities in Africa, five in Europe and finish your trip in New York (JFK). However, you can’t start in New York, go to Europe and then reverse direction to South America.

Because Aeroméxico is a SkyTeam partner, all flights must be on participating SkyTeam carriers. The biggest challenge to booking this trip is locating availability for each flight. Although it’s possible to buy a round-the-world ticket in business or economy class, you can’t mix and match classes of service—you have to find availability in the same class of service for the whole journey.

An Aeroméxico round-the-world ticket is good for 365 days, so you can spend an entire year traveling the globe and stay for as long as you want at any stopover destination.

Before we dive into how to plan your globetrotting trip of a lifetime, let’s dig a little deeper into some of the key rules.

Travel in the Same Direction

The general direction of your trip has to be the same. You must be moving either east or west without backtracking. There are data points that suggest that this rule has a little bit of wiggle room, especially if you’re backtracking slightly to reach a SkyTeam hub. However, backtracking between continents or regions won’t work.

Must Begin and Return in the Same Country

Your trip around the world actually has to go around the world. Although you don’t have to start and finish your trip in the same city, you must finish in the same country. Furthermore, if your trip begins with a transpacific flight, it must end with a transatlantic flight (or vice-versa).

For example, you can’t leave from San Francisco to Japan and end your trip by flying from Europe to South America to the United States. However, you can begin your trip with South America as your first destination and then fly over the Pacific Ocean to Asia afterward.

The SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass must contain at least one transpacific flight, one transatlantic flight and at least one transcontinental flight between the Middle East, Africa and Asia and contain a minimum of three stopovers.

Aeroméxico divides the world into the following regions: North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania (Australia) and Asia. You’ll want to take these regions one at a time in the direction of your choice.

Stop Requirements

Round-the-world tickets through Aeroméxico allow up to 15 stopovers. A stopover is a stay in a city longer than 24 hours. There’s an exception to this.

If your flight between stopovers is scheduled as an “immediate connection,” but the time between flights leaves you in the city longer than 24 hours, it won’t count as a stopover. If a flight delay or routing change leaves you in a city over the 24-hour mark, this won’t count against you. However, we wouldn’t recommend trying to milk an extra stopover out of this provision. Fifteen cities is plenty, right?

Aeroméxico requires that you include at least three stopovers on your round-the-world ticket, not including the departure city or the final arrival city. In general, you must progress from one stopover city to another stopover city.

Open-jaw flights are possible. An open-jaw ticket is when you arrive in one city but depart from a different one and travel between cities by land or a flight booked separately. SkyTeam refers to this as “surface sector transportation.” However, an open-jaw itinerary counts as two stopovers, so we don’t recommend it, unless you have stopovers to spare. Why drive when you can book 15 flights for the same price?

Class of Service

Aeromexico Go Round the World Passes have a set redemption rate per class of service, regardless of number of flight segments or miles flown. You may fly around the world in economy or in business class, but your entire trip must be in the same class. You can pay to upgrade an individual flight from economy to business. Prices vary and are based on availability.

It’s hard to imagine wanting to traverse the entire globe in economy. There are a few reasons you might want to do it.

Because a round-the-world ticket is good for a full year, you may spread the flights out sufficiently that each flight puts you in coach for a few hours at a time, making the potential points savings worth it and the burden of a long ride in economy lighter. Additionally, economy space is much easier to find. If your dates aren’t flexible, you may be forced to book space in coach to complete the trip.

Mileage Requirements

Economy aeromexico round the world mileage requirements.

What’s great about an Aeromexico round-the-world ticket is its simple pricing. Economy tickets require 224,000 Club Premier Points no matter how many miles flown, flights taken or countries visited.

Although this price tag may seem steep, consider that a one-way Delta flight from New York (EWR) to Paris (CDG) is 95,700 Club Premier Points. As you can see, getting up to 17 flights for 224,000 points is a much more efficient use of Club Premier Points.

Business Aeromexico Round The World Mileage Requirements

Similar to economy tickets, business round-the-world tickets from Aeroméxico also have a set rate regardless of the number of flights. A SkyTeam Go Round the World Pass in business class requires 352,000 Club Premier Points. When you consider that you are upgrading up to 17 flights from economy to business for 128,000 points, that’s a really great deal!

How to Earn Aeromexico Club Premier Points

While you probably have never earned Aeroméxico Club Premier Points, plenty of bank programs partner with Club Premier.

American Express Membership Rewards, Brex, Capital One Venture Miles, Citi ThankYou Points and Marriott Bonvoy points all transfer to Aeroméxico. Different rewards programs have different transfer ratios, so let’s dive into each program.

American Express Membership Rewards

Membership Rewards are the best points to transfer to Aeroméxico Club Premier because they convert at a ratio of 1:1.6. Because of this favorable ratio, you need just 140,000 Membership Rewards points to purchase a Go Round the World Pass in economy class and 220,000 points to purchase a Go Round the World Pass in business class.

Additionally, American Express often offers bonus transfer ratios of up to 25%, dropping the number of points needed even lower.

You can sign up for several Amex cards to earn Membership Rewards, including the American Express® Gold Card , The Platinum Card® from American Express and the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express .

Brex is a business cash management account that comes with an associated corporate card. Although not technically a credit card, it awards points based on the spending history of the card. However, it allows you to spend the money that you have in a linked business checking account only.

Brex Rewards transfer to Aeroméxico Club Premier at a rate of 1:1. You must transfer at least 500 Brex points to complete a transfer.

Capital One

Capital One Venture Miles have added Aeroméxico to its long list of transfer partners . Venture Miles transfer at a rate of 1:1, so you’ll need 224,000 Venture Miles for a Go Round the World Pass in economy and 352,000 miles for a Go Round the World Pass in business class.

Capital One doesn’t offer transfer bonuses as often as American Express does, but it’s still a good idea to keep an eye out for any bonuses that might make your Venture Miles go further.

Citi ThankYou points also transfer to Aeroméxico at a 1:1 ratio. Economy round-the-world tickets require 224,000 ThankYou Points, and business tickets require 352,000 points.

Citi is pretty sensitive to recent inquiries, so if you’re thinking about signing up for multiple cards to complete this trip and you’re already over 5/24 with Chase, this might be the best card to start with.

Citi Premier® Card

Citi ThankYou Points

after making $4,000 in purchases with your card within the first 3 months of account opening. Plus, for a limited time, earn a total of 10 ThankYou® Points per $1 spent on hotel, car rentals, and attractions (excluding air travel) booked on the Citi Travel℠ portal through June 30, 2024.

Marriott Bonvoy points aren’t often thought of as a transferable point currency, and for good reason. Their paltry transfer rate of 3:1 means it’s rarely a good idea to use Bonvoy points for a flight redemption.

However, if you transfer 60,000 Bonvoy points, you’ll get a 5,000-point bonus, making the rate effectively 3:1.25. Still not great, but if you’re just a handful of miles shy of completing this bucket-list trip, you might need to make this move.

To purchase an entire economy Aeroméxico round-the-world ticket with Bonvoy points, you would have to transfer 540,000 Bonvoy points and a laughable 845,000 points for a business-class ticket. You’ll likely need multiple programs to complete this redemption, especially if you’re traveling with a family, so it’s good to know this option is available.

How to Book an Aeromexico Round The World Ticket

Once you have the requisite points to purchase an Aeroméxico round-the-world ticket, it’s time to reserve your itinerary. Let’s look at how to book the SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass step by step.

Find Your Flights

Because your flight must go around the world, and the whole point of this trip is to see as many places on one itinerary, finding your flights might be a long process. We recommend starting to think through your tentative itinerary while you earn the points you need for the trip.

Remember, Aeroméxico is a Mexican airline, so some of the most advantageous routes may connect through cities you don’t often think of as international hubs, such as Mexico City (MEX).

Delta is the go-to SkyTeam partner that shows the most accurate availability. Its user interface and a price calendar will come in handy as well.

Remember to keep the main rules in mind while making your plan. You need one transpacific flight, one transatlantic flight and a flight between the SkyTeam regions.

You might settle on something like this:

  • Atlanta (ATL) to Cancun, Mexico (CUN), on Delta
  • Cancun to Mexico City on Aeroméxico
  • Mexico City to Sydney (SYD) on Delta
  • Sydney to Seoul, South Korea (ICN), on Korean Air
  • Seoul to Bangkok (BKK) on Korean Air
  • Bangkok to Nairobi, Kenya (NBO), on Saudia
  • Nairobi to Amsterdam (AMS) on KLM
  • Amsterdam to Paris on Air France-KLM
  • Paris to Sao Paulo (GRU) on Air France
  • Sao Paulo to Atlanta on Delta

Even after all this globetrotting, we could still add five more stops! Notice that we filled all the requirements. We have a transpacific flight from Mexico City to Sydney, a transatlantic flight from Paris to Sao Paulo and a cross-regional flight from Nairobi to Amsterdam, among others.

Once you have a general idea of the cities you’d like to visit and which SkyTeam partner services the route, you’ll want to write down the exact dates and flight numbers—you’ll need them to reserve your ticket.

Remember, you must return within a year from your date of first departure. Otherwise, there’s no limit on how long you can remain in each city.

Transfer Miles

Once you have your list of flight numbers and dates, it’s time to transfer your points for your purchase. You’ll need to amass a total of 244,000 points for a round-the-world ticket in economy or 352,000 points for a business-class ticket.

If you have 140,000 Membership Rewards, we recommend moving those. If you’re short, pool any combination of the points above until you have the necessary points in your Club Premier account.

Before transferring these points, you may want to call Aeroméxico and do a dry run of the booking just to get familiar with the process and make sure you understand everything correctly.

Nobody enjoys waiting on hold twice to book the same ticket, but Aeroméxico has few lucrative points redemptions. You wouldn’t want to convert more than 200,000 flexible points into Club Premier points and end up not using them.

Call Aeromexico to Book a Round The World Ticket

Once your points are properly positioned, it’s time to book your round-the-world ticket. Unfortunately, these itineraries are too complicated to be purchased online. You’ll have to call the Aeroméxico U.S. reservation line at 855-412-2650.

While on the phone, take a breath. This is a complicated booking with a lot of moving parts, and it’s probable the agent you work with hasn’t booked a lot of round-the-world tickets. If you get an agent who doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing, hang up and call again. It may take a few tries before you complete your travel plans.

Now all you have to do is plan lodging for each city you’ll be visiting.

FAQs About Aeromexico Round The World Tickets

How many taxes and fees can i expect to pay.

Although you’ll pay for the bulk of your Aeroméxico round-the world-ticket with points, you’ll still have to pay taxes and fees. Aeroméxico does pass these on to the traveler.

These fees vary based on routes and flight operators and will likely be in thousands of dollars. For instance, the estimated fees and taxes for the itinerary in our example are $1,082.

How Does This Compare to Other Popular Round-The-World Options

There are two other airline alliances that offer round-the-world tickets.

The most popular round-the-world ticket through Star Alliance is by ANA . This ticket is often cheaper than the SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass from Aeroméxico, but it limits your stops to eight with a maximum of 12 segments. Aeroméxico’s ticket doesn’t limit segments or distance, and you’re able to visit up to 15 cities.

Additionally, while Membership Rewards transfer to Aeroméxico at a ratio of 1:1.6, they transfer to ANA at an even ratio of 1:1.

The third main airline alliance is Oneworld. Qantas is one of the best partners for purchasing these tickets, although the prices are comparable to SkyTeams Go Round the World Pass, they only allow five stopovers.

If you are looking to purchase a round-the-world ticket rather than utilize points, the Global Explorer ticket that can be purchased directly from Oneworld allows you to pick the cities on the itinerary but schedule the flights as you go, allowing for maximum flexibility or, if you are a type-A planner, maximum anxiety.

The more cities you plan to visit, the more attractive Aeroméxico’s round-the-world ticket appears. However, for such a large redemption, it would definitely make sense to price out your itinerary using each alliance’s round-the-world ticket before booking.

What Is the Cancellation Policy of Round-TheWorld Tickets Booked with Aeromexico Club Premier?

Changing or canceling the first flight of your round-the-world trip booked with Aeroméxico will result in a $200 change fee and a refund of your Club Premier Points (terms apply). However, remember that now you’re stuck with points that can’t be converted back into the transferable points currency you used to book the trip.

Once your trip begins, you’re permitted to change the dates of your flights without a fee (subject to availability). While airline policies are softening over change fees, they may very well become less flexible as global travel increases. Confirm the cancellation policy with your booking agent in case any changes have occurred since the writing of this article.

Final Thoughts

A trip around the world is the pièce de résistance of the points and miles world. There’s a reason that George Clooney’s million-mile character purchased his sister this once-in-a-lifetime trip for her honeymoon.

A round-the-world trip is not as difficult to earn as many think. If you earn enough Membership Rewards or other transferable points to purchase this ticket, you can visit up to 15 countries using the SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass. Although a trip of this length takes a lot of planning, the planning is half the fun!

What countries will you visit when you go around the globe with Aeroméxico?

Chase Sapphire Preferred

Century Travel Club, the secret club for travelers

Articulo5

“All places are unexplored until one discovers them”. This is the philosophy of Century Travel Club, an exclusive club for travelers who have set foot in at least 100 countries from its list.

Bert Hemphill had the idea of founding the club in 1954. Russell Davidson, who was the Director of Tours in his travel agency in Los Angeles, California, helped him realize it.

TCC currently has 319 qualified countries you can visit to be entitled to a membership. Although there has been much discussion over the years regarding the inclusion of different geographical regions and gray areas, the club rules are simple: just a short stop by plane is enough to qualify as a visit.

The rule of “Pay Back” states that travelers can count their visit to a region recognized as a country in the past for a membership, if it’s eventually replaced by a trip to one of the countries in the current list.

At the time when this club was founded was only possible to do so by boat, now it is easier to travel anywhere in the world. The TCC is still a very exclusive club, today it has 2,000 participants worldwide of which only 14 have traveled to all destinations from the list. John Clouse of Evansville Indiana was the first man to complete the list, and was recognized in 1995 by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most traveled man.

Among the countries consider by the TCC as “qualified destinations” are the 193 entities that are part of the “Member states of the United Nations”, plus another 131 lands with permanent population, including islets as Tristan da Cunha in the Atlantic, Zil Elwannyen Sesel the archipelago in the Indian Ocean, and islands such as Lord Howe and the Marquesas islands in the Pacific. “World Travel is the passport to peace through understanding”.

Pros and Cons to the Palladium Travel Club- An Opinion

¡Bienvenidos! › Forums › Palladium Travel Club › Pros and Cons to the Palladium Travel Club- An Opinion

world pass travel club

  • Author Posts

world pass travel club

I want to start by saying that we joined the Palladium Travel Club in 2011 and have enjoyed using our membership to visit Palladium properties 14 times from 2012 through 2015. Additionally, we have three visits already booked for 2016. I suppose this would be the greatest pro in my opinion, having the ability to travel with greater frequency.

However, here goes. The Palladium Travel Club was designed to help provide a more enhanced vacation experience by combining special prices with additional services. Obviously, the greatest benefit that most members would recognize would be the reduced room rates offered to members. Members receive rates which are significantly lower than those offered on the website with a guarantee of receiving a 10% lower rate if the member can find a lower rate which is able to be verified (this includes if there is a special promotion offered by the hotel). In addition to the special rates, there are a variety of services which offer additional value to a member’s vacation. For every stay of at least 7 nights, members receive free private airport transfers, a gift, Palladium money to be used toward hotel provided services and merchandise from the logo shop, and a complimentary excursion (from a listing of several being offered at the particular location). In my opinion, this adds $300-$400 in value for a vacation stay.

While at the resort, members receive concierge services which include unlimited dinner reservations. And each a la carte restaurant offers a special cart of premium drinks which are only available to Travel Club members. Members receive priority room assignation as a benefit listed in the contract, so Travel Club rooms are assigned before all others are assigned, increasing the likelihood of receiving room requests. All members receive a complimentary bottle (sparkling wine) and a fruit basket upon check in. Also, Travel Club members receive beach towels in the room, so there is no need for those pesky towel cards. Travel Club members have complimentary access to the wet areas of Zentropia, and receive a 20% discount on spa services.

As the Travel Club has grown, more services continue to be added. All of the resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico have exclusive lounges for members…most of which are on the beach (although the lounge in Vallarta is perched atop a cliff with a magnificent view). Members receive private check in which takes place in a private area in Punta Cana and Riviera Maya, and bypasses lines if large groups have arrived. And there is also something to be said for the familiarity of the Travel Club staff. The Travel Club motto is: “From Guest to Family” and the Travel Club staff truly endeavor to treat members not just as guests, but as family. That familiarity is truly special.

As for the cons, as I see them. Firstly, I believe the Travel Club is not right for everyone. Some people just will not be happy if they have a commitment to vacation at the same locations for several years. Some people want more variety, and these people may not be happy with a Travel Club investment. While the offering of world wide exchange weeks seeks to address this, many may not find it satisfactory.

Another con is that a Travel Club membership is an investment, and can be expensive. While that investment will be recouped if you use your membership, not everyone is either in the position to make that purchase, or is willing to make that type of purchase. As I see it, those are the major cons to the Travel Club.

Since I like familiarity and don’t feel the need to visit new and different locations, that was actually a benefit to me. As for the cost, we had been paying our children’s college tuition, and that bill was no longer looking us in the eye, so it really didn’t detract from our budget, the timing was just right. However, as individuals’ situations vary, their perspectives will also vary.

I trust that other members will have additional feedback and viewpoints to help further inform people, this is not a comprehensive list of the Pros and Cons. I look forward to seeing additional comments and questions on the topic.

Gracias Peter. Very helpful.

This is a great list! We have friends (a work friend of Mark’s) who just bought a small contract. They first started visiting a couple years ago when we suggested it to them!

This isn’t the right time for us to make that type of investment but it’s a great program!!

world pass travel club

I agree with everything! My husband and I are new to the travel club, having joined May 2015 on our first visit to RM. We loved everything about the resort and got a small membership to see if we would like/use it or if it would live up to what they told us. We joined on a jr suite level and planned on returning in Sept 15 for our honeymoon. My disappointment is that even though we were members (new) we were not given our recommendation (2nd fl suite, king bed, nice view). We got a 1st fl jr suite next to the road and the staff would walk in front of our balconies as a short cut. I will now tell you the TC staff (Romero) did everything possible to make us happy, we were upgraded to a mayan suite on the beach (Kantenah). We LOVED it so much we upgraded our TC membership to mayan suite level. So for GP this was a win/win. They made us happy and in return we upgraded our membership. We are returning in Feb & once again hoping we get some our requests. I will keep you posted! I think if I am booking my stay 5 months in advance, I should have a high chance of getting my building/floor and possibly room. ( I requested 6 different rooms that I would be happy with). If the rooms are unavailable because other TC members have requested them prior to us I’m good with that. Seniority wins. It’s when they are left empty or given to non members that I get upset. Does anyone have any specific email addresses I can use to request this again? Also, our TC level of mayan suites, what is that level in other GP resorts, like Jamaica and Punta Cana? BTW I Love this site!

Welcome Springer, I have this email address. [email protected]

I know with non-members rooms are not assigned until it is close to arrival dates. In the hospitality industry things change frequently so it may be that they do not assign TC rooms until it is closer to your dates.

I LOVE the Kantenah MS! Have fun.

First of all, I am glad you are enjoying your membership. In addition to trial memberships, there are three basic levels of me,bership: Junior, Governor, amd Presidential. These levels determine what room types you can book theough the Travel Club. At the junior and governor level, there are also plus levels, which entitle you to some additional options…swim up suites for example. Also, there are Ambassador and Signature memberships, which add these room types to your Governor or Presidential membership. Our Membership and Information sheet should contain all of the room types you can book under the Membership Charactersitics portion. This information is repeated inder Clause 1 of your contract.

Mayan Suites are Governor level rooms, so I would think that you would have access to Governor Suites (one bedroom suites woth separate living room) in Riviera Maya and Jamaica, Romance Suites and Honeymoon Suites in Jamaica and Punta Cana, Grandmaster Oceanview suites in Vallarta, as well as a few other room types in Royal Suites Turquesa. Check to see if your membership includes swim up suites or not.

Regarding room assignation, room assignments are made very shortly before arrival, they are not reserved months in advance. What happens os the hotel assigns Travel Club rooms and then assigns non Travel Club rooms. So theoretically, Travel Club members have the best chance of getting their room requests met. They are not guaranteed, however. When making requests, the more specific the request, the less likely to have it fulfilled…and therefore the more likely you would be to be disappointed. Therefore, I would advise you pick what is most important first. Floor level and general location. Third floor, close to pool. Also, request closed concept bathrom if that is important. If you aske for one specific room, you will likely be disappointed…trust me…I know.

Hopefully this helps.

Blood donors at community drive get SeaWorld pass, Rudy’s voucher and H-E-B gift card

South texas blood & tissue said donors are needed to prevent spring break shortages.

Julie Moreno , Executive Producer/Digital Content

SAN ANTONIO – South Texas Blood & Tissue will host a two-day community blood drive this week to help prevent spring break blood shortages.

The blood drive will take place at Ingram Park Mall on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“South Texas Blood & Tissue is encouraging the community to donate blood during spring break to ensure that blood is readily available for patients in need. With students and faculty away from schools during spring break, our community sees a decrease in the blood supply. About 25% of the community’s blood supply comes from high school blood drives,” blood center officials said in a press release.

Appointment for donating can be made online or by calling 210-731-5590.

All donors at this week’s Ingram Park Mall blood drive will receive a SeaWorld day pass, a $10 Rudy’s Bar-B-Q voucher and the chance to draw for an H-E-B gift card valued from $10 to $150.
