About jordan james.

Jordan James

Jordan James, is a singer songwriter, originally from the great state of Louisiana. While James has been performing and writing since he was a child, it wasn’t until the age of 19 that he taught himself to play the guitar. He was soon performing countless shows across the state of Louisiana.  This lead to him signing on with a local record label in 2015. However the label soon went under before his songs were released. While struggling to get his music heard on the radio, he continued to write and hone his craft. During a slow season in the local music scene,  Jordan started driving tour buses to make ends meet. Over the 4 years he has spent in the drivers seat, he's toured with major country artists, pop artists, soul legends, and rock stars alike, learning all that he could while being around them. When the pandemic hit, he once again faced a set back, however, he took the time off to pursue another passion of his and started a spice company, Creole Jordan, to bring the flavor of his kitchen into the homes of others. Once the pandemic slowed he was again playing shows and traveling the country. In 2022 he moved to Nashville to continue the work close to the music industry while also working on his debut EP which is set to release in 2023. This is a man who just doesn’t give up  no matter how many challenges he faces.

Jordan James

Jordan James can’t remember a time when his life didn’t revolve around his love of country music. The Atlanta native began singing shortly after learning to talk. In fact, one of his earliest memories is singing George Strait’s hit “Blue Clear Sky” - He knew every word at three years old, and he still knows every word today.

His first performance may have been in the backseat of his parents’ minivan on a rural Georgia road, but it didn’t take long for James to find himself singing on stages in front of sold-out crowds. At age 12, Kenny Rogers invited him to appear in his annual Christmas concert at the Gwinnett Arena. At 16, he won CMT’s Rising Star Award where he was also named Most Outstanding New Vocalist. That same year, legendary producer and 14-time GRAMMY Winner David Foster asked him to join his “Hit Man Tour,” where James was given the opportunity to play to crowds across the country, catapulting him into the limelight.

While his peers were going to prom, James was sharing the stage with well-known country stars like Jake Owen, Charles Kelley, Joe Nichols, and many others. With his star on the rise, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career as a songwriter and performer and quickly found success with major pop artists including Andy Grammer, Hailee Steinfeld, and others recording his songs.

Despite his early success in the pop world, James found himself longing to get back to his roots. So, he returned to Nashville with wisdom well beyond his years and a refined style that can best be described as “country music for the 21st century”.

Throughout his career, the one thing that has remained consistent is that James has always written about the things that mean the most to him. With a unique ability to make vulnerability seem effortless, James has penned songs about love and heartbreak and even his own adoption.

“My writing style has definitely been influenced by my experiences in LA, but my heart is and always has been in country music,” explains James. “Growing up just outside Atlanta, I’ve always felt like I had the best of both worlds – city and country – and that’s what I want my music to reflect.”

We are less than a week away from National Signing Day now, and as highly-rated recruits get ready to make their decisions on which schools they will be attending to play ball for in the fall, a few are letting it be known when and where they will be announcing next week.

Oregon Ducks make strong push for RB Jordan James, 4-star Georgia Bulldogs commit

For Jordan James, a 4-star running back out of Tennessee who has been verbally committed to the University of Georgia since last spring, we now know when he will be making his final announcement. 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong reported on Thursday afternoon that James will be picking between the Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, and Florida Gators live on CBSSports HQ next Wednesday at 9 a.m. PT.

James is the No. 13 RB in the 2022 class, according to 247Sports, and the No. 162 player overall. He has been on a pair of official visits to Eugene over the past month and came away very impressed with what Dan Lanning is building with the Ducks. The 4-star prospect is reportedly taking a visit to Florida this coming weekend, and then will be set to make his decision next week on signing day.

The Jordan House, a stately Victorian home of Italianate Gothic design, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a member of the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program. It is one of the oldest structures in Polk County and the oldest in West Des Moines. Built by one of West Des Moines’ first settlers, James C. Jordan, the house today serves both as a museum for West Des Moines and as the office of West Des Moines Historical Society. The sixteen period rooms serve as a fitting backdrop of displaying the many antique treasures gathered from the rich heritage of West Des Moines. Visitors will also be interested in both the Underground Railroad Exhibit and the many artifacts from the regular railroad which played an important role in the early years of West Des Moines.

History of the Jordan House

James C. Jordan, a cattle farmer from Virginia and one of Iowa’s most influential early settlers built the Jordan House. When Jordan settled the area, he chose a beautiful location with ancient oak, walnut and hickory trees on land gently sloping to the Raccoon River. Jordan’s first shelter was a lean-to tent, which was replaced in 1848 with a log cabin. In 1850 he and his wife, Melinda, began work on the first phase of the Jordan House. The family, which at that time numbered six children, lived for a time in the basement of the structure, consisting of a small kitchen and a bed/sitting room. About a year later what turned out to be the first phase of the upper white frame two-story structure was completed, featuring a magnificent entrance, a center hall and two large rooms. A walnut staircase led to the upstairs and two spacious bedrooms. The kitchen remained in the basement.

An Underground Railroad Station and subsequent expansion

During the antebellum period, the Jordan House was a designated stopover on the Underground Railroad. Freedom Seekers hid in the fields, barns and outbuildings on the property. Jordan, a staunch abolitionist, was regarded as the “chief conductor” for Polk County. Radical abolitionist John Brown stayed at least twice at Jordan House, once when he was leading a group of 12 formerly enslaved people to freedom. The house also served as a haven for weary travelers on their westward journey. Jordan’s southern hospitality was apparent, as “Uncle Jimmy Jordan’s” house became known as a comfortable gathering place for local politicians and business leaders. After the death of his first wife, Jordan married Cynthia Adams and their family grew to eleven children. In 1870, the house was expanded again with the addition of another parlor, dining room, library and kitchen. Porches were built on both the east and south sides of the house. A second entrance was also added with a black walnut staircase leading to six more bedrooms upstairs.

Jordan’s Impact On Central Iowa

In addition to managing his large cattle operation, Jordan became an influential business and civic leader. He organized the State Bank of Des Moines, served on the Polk Country Board of Supervisors and was elected to both the Iowa Senate and the House of Representatives. During his tenure in the legislature, Jordan led the drive to relocate Iowa’s State Capitol from Iowa City to Des Moines. Jordan was also instrumental in bringing the railroad to the Des Moines area. He platted out Valley Junction, thereby founding what is today West Des Moines, and raised $70,000 in his successful effort to establish a railhead in Des Moines,  By the turn of the century, over 400 railroad employees and their families were living in Valley Junction and the railroad was a dominant force in the early history of the city.

Recent History

The house remained in the Jordan family for almost a century. In 1947, it was sold to the Church of the Nazarene and became part of its summer campgrounds. In 1978, the West Des Moines Historical Society purchased Jordan house to begin its renovation as a period home and to create a museum for West Des Moines.

Of Friday evening’s show,  The Tennessean  raved, “The hour-and-a-half set was the perfect mix of Davis’ ballads, sing-a-long hits and even some choice cover tunes played for a crowd that stayed on its feet the entire show and for certain had a damn good time,” adding “Davis proved that he earned his spot as a headlining act in Country music and solidified his status as a country superstar with his electrifying performance that flawlessly showcased his versatility.” The tour continues with dates this Friday in Columbus, Ohio before heading onto to the remaining shows including sold-out venues in Kansas City, MO (Sept. 16), Philadelphia (Oct. 5), New York (Oct. 6), Boston (Oct. 7), and Las Vegas (Oct. 21). Tour openers include Avery Anna, Gabby Barrett, Danielle Bradberry, Flatland Calvary, Greylan James, Dylan Marlowe, Kameron Marlowe, Mike Ryan, Connor Smith, and Georgia Webster.

At the show, Davis was surprised by UMG Nashville Chair & CEO Cindy Mabe with a commemorative plaque celebrating his more than 5 Billion career streams since first breaking out onto the scene with his RIAA Gold-certified debut album Home State . The Louisiana native has continued to earn his place in country music stardom, with  The Tennessean  noting his “extraordinary consistency at the pinnacle of country music’s mainstream,” as well as his “comparisons…to Keith Whitley.” With the February 2023 launch of his Gold-certified sophomore album  Bluebird Days , Davis has now earned six career No. 1s, including the 2x Platinum-selling hit “Singles You Up,” Platinum hits “Take It From Me,” and “Slow Dance in A Parking Lot,” as well as the multi-week No. 1 singles “Buy Dirt” (2x Platinum), “What My World Spins Around” (Gold) and “Next Thing You Know” (Platinum). He has also earned a Top 5 Platinum hit with “Almost Maybes” and is upcoming direct support for Luke Combs’ 2024 stadium tour.

Produced by Paul DiGiovanni and written by Davis, Josh Osborne, Chase McGill, and GreyLan James, Davis’ latest multi-week No. 1, “Next Thing You Know,” marks the biggest hit of the singer/songwriters’ career to date and continues to earn acclaim, with critics noting “It’s not just the lyrics …it’s the way he summarizes life, love, family ….so anyone …can be excused for feeling a bit breathless by the time he finishes what we’re going to predict will be the 2023 CMA winner for Song of the Year” ( Taste of Country ). He recently launched his follow up single to “Next Thing You Know,” “ Tucson Too Late ,” after debuting it earlier this year on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Davis shared with  Billboard  the song is “the type of song that I grew up on,” noting part of the inspiration behind the song was to capture the tone of the Keith Whitley hit, “Miami, My Amy.” The “terrific” ( Billboard ) “Tucson Too Late” once again reunites Davis, his brother Jacob Davis, and Matt and Josh Jenkins–the four songwriters from his current reigning CMA Song of the Year hit, “Buy Dirt.” Click   HERE   to watch the music video for “Tucson Too Late.” For more details on Jordan’s latest music and tour dates, visit  www.jordandavisofficial.com .

‘Never let go': Controversial ‘Titanic' movie prop sells for more than $700,000 at auction

AP: Before the continental U.S. tour, you're headed to Japan, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii. What keeps it interesting?

TAYLOR: The audience, always. The event itself has never failed to supply the motivation and the energy that is required. You know, it’s very compelling to go a great distance and to find a crowd of people that have bought tickets to come see me and the band play again.

Over time, it’s something you learn to do, to keep your strength up, keep your health... also, I don’t do more than a couple of shows in a row without a day off. I’ll do more than that if I’m in one town, but generally speaking, we pace ourselves now.

AP : That's good advice.

TAYLOR : I definitely burned myself out a few times.

AP: You're performing at Tanglewood, in your home state of Massachusetts, 50 years since you first performed there. What significance does it hold?

TAYLOR: I was trying to figure out whether or not it was 50 years or 50 shows that I’ve been playing at Tanglewood, and it turns out it’s both. 1974 was the first time I played there. It averages out to one a year, although at one point we skipped a whole decade.

We had an episode where one of my crew members, in a fit of pique, drove a truck across the Tanglewood lawn and made a mess of it. He was told he had to get the truck off the lawn because it had been raining and it was making an imprint on it. As we were breaking down after the show, he was driving out there to unload the mixing board and stuff. But he put it in reverse, stomped the accelerator and tore a great trough, a great furrow in the Tanglewood lawn. And they never asked me back. It was only when (my wife) Kim came along and resurrected my reputation that I was allowed to come back.

It’s been a great privilege... It's turned out to be a great thing for me, to play Tanglewood every year.

AP: Does an anniversary like that — 50 years — allow you to reflect on your career?

TAYLOR: This is  the time of life  when you feel like you ought to get in touch with a lawyer and make a will. You see, the older generation, the people that were your friends and mentors, sort of  checking out one by one . It is a time when you feel as though things are being summed up a little bit and you start thinking about, the whole thing as a totality. You know, a line from one of my songs, “Copperline,” is “I'm only living 'til the end of the week,” and I think that really does describe me.

But, you know, it is a period of time when you look back and see the whole thing, it's important not to internalize that idea of being a big deal. It's important to focus on what it is that you do — and that thing as a craft that allows you to have your place in the world.

AP: What has that allowed you to learn?

TAYLOR: As time goes by, I think it’s wrong for people to judge other people and even to evaluate them, and yet it’s something we constantly do, and we can’t avoid it. But we should mitigate it by knowing that when we judge someone, we’ve got it wrong. They know who they are, and not we. But, of course, in a million ways, all day long, we evaluate ourselves and other people and it’s complicated. It's not up to me determine what my ultimate position in popular culture turns out to be 50 years from now.

AP: That's a value judgment, too.

TAYLOR : I see people selling the rights to their catalogs. That baby boom generation musical expression, which happened between '62 and 1980, that sort of 20 years of amazing activity that happened, I was in the center of it and actually got my start in London  with the Beatles . So, I had a real sense of this generational phenomenon that the music that I was part of, was a big feature in the landscape and we were communicating to each other. We invented a kind of music there. It was predicted by rhythm and blues and folk music. And those two resurgences sort of fueled it and supplied it. It was big.

You see those people now, being in my sort of age group generally, selling the rights to their catalogs and sort of evaluating what their life’s output was worth. You know,  David Bowie  ’s went for like 250 million. I think  (Bob) Dylan ... got like 300 million...  (Bruce) Springsteen  is said to have gotten more than that, like half a billion or something. It’s sort of like monopoly money.

AP: What do you hope people take away from your live show, and are you working on a new album?

TAYLOR: I feel like I’ve got another one in me — sounds like an egg — but I'm writing a little bit.

And as to what I hope people take away from live performances, I hope they take away a sense of connection. You know, live music — the thing that I’m so attached to about it, why I can’t let it go — is that there’s something (that) happens when people come together for a couple of hours for two or three hours and have a sort of collective experience.

It's indescribable. You prepare for it, but when it happens, it’s spontaneous and, in a way, unique. I love it when that happens, and it does most nights.

AP : Give us a call if you consider selling your catalog.

TAYLOR: If someone comes sniffing around, I'll get in touch.

There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Go beneath the streets on this tour of the spectacular, mind-bending Moscow Metro! Be awed by architecture and spot the Propaganda , then hear soviet stories from a local in the know. Finish it all up above ground, looking up to Stalins skyscrapers, and get the inside scoop on whats gone on behind those walls.

Know More about this tour

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.
