Michael Buble reaching for ‘Higher’ ground on new tour, album

The grammy-winning singer wants fans to ‘be part of something special for one night,’ he says of the biggest tour he’s ever mounted..

Michael Buble is on the road again.

More on the Willie Nelson homage later.

Suffice it to say, his new tour, which arrives at the Allstate Arena on Friday night, has been more than two years in the making thanks to the pandemic that sidelined his road trek plans like those of so many other artists. With his latest album, “Higher,” in tow, Buble is pulling out all the stops.

“I was terrified I’d never get back to work, that people would never be able to get back into a [concert venue] safely again,” Buble says during a recent chat. “So I wanted this show to be a celebration of joy and love. And I didn’t want to rest on my laurels. People have never seen me in this way in concert before. … I want them to be part of something special for one night. It’s the biggest tour I’ve ever mounted, production-wise.

“It’s fun to show off,” the 46-year-old Canadian singer continues, “and I’m not trying to sound like a jerk. … I’m giving people the chance to see something that went extinct a long time ago. If you never had the chance to see Frank or Dean or Elvis we’ve put [that show experience] into a pop setting. So you get the music but you [also get] the raconteur surrounded by a live, big band with string players and a full choir. I love what I do!”

Buble changed up the recording process in a huge way for “Higher,” surrounding himself with a new producing lineup, for starters, that included Greg Wells and Bob Rock, along with Alan Chang, Jason “Spicy G” Goldman and  Sir Paul McCartney. He describes working with the former Beatle as “really comfortable. He was so down to earth and extremely generous and just happy to be there.”

The album, Buble’s 11th studio outing, reveals many new layers to his music chops.

“The album had a lot to do with the COVID [lockdown]. I was in a place with a lot of time to think about things and really dream big, go for things musically I’d never been brave enough to do before,” the four-time Grammy Award winner says. “I was terribly ambitious.”

The lineup includes Buble’s spin on Sam Cooke’s soul-gospel gem “Bring It On Home to Me,” Vera Lynn’s WWII-era treasure “We’ll Meet Again,” Barry White’s disco classic “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything,” Charlie Chaplin’s tearjerker “Smile,” and Bob Dylan’s torchy romantic ode “Make You Feel My Love.” The covers are a fine complement to several originals including the first single from the project, “I’ll Never Not Love You,” featuring his wife Luisana Lopilato in the video, which has garnered more than 5 million views to date. (The couple welcomed their fourth child, daughter Cielo Yoli Rose, on Aug. 19.)

A former collaborator suggested Buble take a different tack on the album, to step away from his distinct style “for a little more fresh sound.”

“He told me ‘you might get a lot out of that sense of newness,’ and he was right. So that’s what I did,” Buble says. “I left that comfort zone of working with [uber producer-composer] David Foster and the same writers that I had worked with for so many years. It was about staying on brand and not losing my core audience but showing a ton of growth musically to that audience.”

No stranger to duets (he has partnered with Mariah Carey, Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, Thalia, and Laura Pausini, among others), Buble this time turned to country music legend Willie Nelson for a shared turn on “Crazy,” calling the track “the greatest duet I’ve ever done.”

“He’s one of my heroes,” Buble gushes. “When I think of the greatest interpreters of the American Songbook, I have Willie there. His music has had such a big impact on my life. His albums were among the records gifted to me by my grandpa. [Willie] sounds so good. Damn, he sounds like a kid on that cut. I would say it’s the greatest duet I’ve ever done.”

Michael Bublé talks about new 'Higher' tour heading to NYC and his growing family

WABC logo

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Michael Bublé took some time out to talk about his upcoming "Higher" tour and what touring is like with his growing family.

His album "Higher" was released back on March 25 and as he says, the title track is a "jammer."

It's being called the best album of his career and is already gaining Grammy chatter, so that's why he's already taking it on the tour and is set to hit the U.S. in August.

Bublé is bringing his tour to Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 18.

"It's the greatest show on earth, and I'm underselling it!" he said. "This is what I do, this is what God built me to do. What's more is COVID has kicked our butts and kept us from being together and I'm about to throw a party for thousands of people."

He says that the tour will feature songs from his new "Higher" album which he collaborated on with notable artists including Sir Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, and others.

The video for the beautiful new song "I Will Never Not Love You" features his pregnant wife, Argentinian actress Luisana, and their three children.

"You balance it with love, you balance it with loving your wife enough to have reverence and respect for her time. So, I'm not going to make the money that my management and promoters would like me to make because I won't go on six-week and two-month tours, I try to keep them bite-size because I don't think it's fair to do that to my family. I put them first, but I try to show up in your backyard to show the people that have been there for 20 years that I appreciate them."

He says his tour is a family affair with his wife and children set to join him in New York!

"When I play MSG, my kids will be there," Bublé said. "What's even cooler is that more and more I'm seeing that parents are bringing their kids to the shows and it's a family show. You know, I, we straddle the line of it being edgy, it's for adults, of course it's for adults, they get it, but also it's one of those few places where you can come to a show and you can love it as much as your 8-year-old kid does."

Bublé was featured as a mentor on this past season of "American Idol" for Long Island's own Christian Guardino, with whom he still keeps in touch!

"I have kept in touch and you know, he's a great kid," Bublé said. "This is what music is about and this is what our business is about and that is passing it on. The same way my heroes have done that for me."

He added, "The way that Tony Bennett did that for me, it's a real joy to do that for someone like Christian. It's a lot of fun that show and it was a really beautiful moment for me. I thought that we kicked butt in that performance and I was really happy for him."

Derek Hough helped put them in touch when he appeared on the show and Bublé says that he loves Hough for directing his "Higher" music video.

But, don't expect him to appear on "DWTS" as anything other than a performer or special guest.

"No, I don't think so," he said. "I love that community, I love the dancing community. You know, I'm the brother of two sisters that had a real dance mom and so I went to all the recitals and everything and I think it's a real beautiful life and I love Derek very much."

Michael Buble

Michael Bublé  engaged in a little market research on Friday (Sept. 23) as he brought his “Higher” tour to Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. He asked how many people were seeing him in concert for the first time.

Michael Buble & Luisana Lopilato Welcome Baby No. 4: ‘Thank God for This Infinite Blessing’

Trending on billboard.

On the “Higher” tour — named after his ninth Reprise studio album, which was released six months ago — Bublé seemed to enjoy his role of introducing his audience to genres they may not have known before. “Enjoy your first big-band song,” he said by way of introducing “When You’re Smiling.”

Bublé is in some ways this generation’s Barry Manilow . Both performers are personable and hammy, and make effective use of self-deprecating humor. (Bublé, catching a glimpse of himself on the video screens, blurted out, “I look like Kermit the Frog.”) Both gained a reputation for showmanship that has allowed them to headline major venues whether they had a current hit record or not.

Here are five times Bublé reached “higher” on his L.A. tour stop:

Beefing up “Haven’t Met You Yet”

Bublé’s “Haven’t Met You Yet” remains his biggest Billboard Hot 100 hit. The 2009 single, which he co-wrote with frequent collaborators Alan Chang and Amy Foster, has the jaunty quality of Manilow’s sing-along 1977 hit “Daybreak.” But Bublé has beefed the song’s arrangement to something closer to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” (which was among the songs piped into the arena as people were taking their seats). There were welcome Beatlesque touches on the song — a horn solo and the “love, love, love” chorus.

Silencing the chatters

While Bublé was singing “Smile,” the lovely ballad written by Charlie Chaplin and popularized by Nat “King” Cole, there was a steady murmur of chatter coming from the audience. Bublé stopped his performance and said, good-naturedly but with an edge, “I hear people talking. I feel I’m getting in the way of the good time they’re having. I’m going to sing this s— even slower if you don’t shut up.” This is almost certainly a recurring bit in his show. Bublé had introduced the song by asking the audience to give the song the respect and reverence it deserves, which set up this pay-off. And sad to say, audiences nowadays often act like they’re watching TV in their living rooms, so Bublé can usually count on hearing audience chatter. But hopefully he got his point across to at least a few audience members that there’s a time and place for chatting and a time for showing a little respect.

Taking it way down

A tribute to the King

Bublé performed most of his set on the main stage, backed by a large band, but one of the most effective segments in the show was on a secondary stage in the middle of the house. He was backed by a five-piece band on a three-song tribute to Elvis. At another point in the show, he name-checked the King as one of the performers from whom he had borrowed. He also cited Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and The Mills Brothers. And he quoted Bennett, who purportedly told him, “If you steal from one person, you’re a thief. If you steal from enough people, you can call it research.”

Giving his band and back-up singers their props

Bublé had a smart way of sharing the spotlight with his band and backup singers. Their faces were shown, one by one, on the video screens, with their names shown as chyrons. It was a generous way of giving these pros the props they deserve.

Here’s the setlist for Bublé’s Sept. 23 show.

Michael Bublé delivers ‘Everything’ on Higher Tour in DC

The versatile crooner left the audience asking, “How does he do it?”

If you think you know Michael Bublé, but have never seen him live, you do not know him at all.

Bublé himself joked about those presumptions about midway through his set Monday night (Aug 29th) at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. Poking fun at his Bing Crosby-like image, he said, “You thought you were coming to hear a guy go ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” to raucous laughter. “That’s not what we do at all!” he corrected.

Indeed, a live concert by Bublé is a bundle of contradictions. Bublé is known has vocal tone that oozes sincerity in every stanza. Yet, when talking to the audience, he was continually self-effacing. “You probably think celebrities are down to earth and just like you,” he opined two songs into the evening. “And for the most part, that’s true, but I’m an asshole,” he joked while describing doing crowd vamps in front of a mirror at home during COVID. The guy who wrote “Home” is an asshole? Who curses? And says asshole ? This was news.

Perhaps that dichotomy is the secret to Bublé’s success. After all, he has made the Great American Songbook cool again. This was prevalent on every standard he performed this evening. He had the guts to add an electric guitar riff to the Dean Martin classic, “Sway.” “When You’re Smiling” had an infectious bass drum oomph behind it. And “Bring it On Home” was a true religious moment. How does he do it?

The two hour set flew by as Bublé, backed by a traveling orchestra with members numbering in the dozens, danced about a slanted rectangular set. The classy “MB” logo bandstands, pearly white curtains, and shimmering projections gave the feel that the crooner and company were playing inside a massive music box.

Throughout the night, Bublé interacted with the crowd on a personal level. He called out signs and sang happy birthday to a fan. He told people (men and women) they looked “Beautiful” while making direct eye contact. Plus, he threw on a Washington Capitals jersey over his perfectly-fitted suit at the end of the night. It was signed and gifted to him by retired Caps hockey player and fellow Canadian Karl Alzner. Alzner tossed his #27 game-worn jersey to the stage from the floor.

It is rare for an act to fill a stage with their own orchestra — the expense alone can be astronomical. But Bublé proudly tours with a caravan of musicians, a conductor, and background vocalists. Oh, and there’s a six-piece regular band at the front. Another innovation: surround sound. Every time Bublé ventured onto the catwalk, the sound shifted from the gigantic speakers on either side of the orchestra, to a ring of speakers above the outer platform. While the execution was at times clunky, its purpose was clear and successful: to make the 20,000 seat arena in the heart of DC’s Chinatown as intimate as possible.

Bublé is currently on his Higher Tour, promoting the album of the same name. The title track off the album is arguably his most aggressively upbeat tune yet. And somehow, it still fits his style of straddling between sexy pop star and Sinatra standard bearer. Other original hits present. “Feeling Good” opened the show. “Everything” was as joyous as ever. It was as if, after a long COVID delay, Bublé was saying to his fanbase that they are truly his everything. He dug far back into his catalogue for his first big hit, “I’ll Never Stop Loving You,” while running into the crowd to let his young children sing a verse. It was a sweet moment.

Before performing the song arguably most synonymous with his own career, “Home,” Bublé instead chose to thank someone for covering it. While earnestly dedicating the song to America’s military, he also said, “I’d like to dedicate this song to Blake Shelton who covered it and made me so much money.” Very big laugh one second. A piano riff, and pure sentimentality the next. How. Does. He. Do. it?

Towards the end of the night, Bublé decided to use the success of his posthumous duet with Elvis on “Fever” to segue into an Elvis medley that culminated with “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.” It earned the biggest ovation of the night.

Original songwriter. Standards crooner. Gut-wrenchingly funny with self-effacing humor. And now, he can effortlessly pull off The King? How does Michael Bublé do it? Asshole . 😉

Michael bublé higher tour, michael bublé is higher than ever on new album and tour back to video.

When : Oct. 1, 6:30 p.m.

Where : Rogers Arena

Tickets/info : livenation.com

Released on March 25, Higher is the 11th album from singer Michael Bublé.

In what now seems normal for the local star, the 13-track record topped global charts. It is his fifth release to hit top spot on the U.K. Albums Chart, his ninth to take second spot on Australia’s ARIA Top Album Chart, and on down the line. At home, where the leading lights of rock and pop regularly fail to receive the kind of love that comes from abroad, the record hit No. 3 on the Canadian Billboard chart. Folks love this fella.

And why not?

In a world where tragic consequences for a career are only an ill-timed TikTok away, the continuously fresh-faced, 47-year-old crooner appears teflon.

Tackling the kind of tough battles such as eldest son Noah’s 2016 liver cancer diagnosis with maturity and poise, he and Argentinian wife Luisana Lipilato were up front and real about the situation. They don’t come across as invisible celebrities. They seem like a fairly regular family, albeit one with a pretty incredible home.

Whether halting a U.K. gig to request aid for an audience member in medical distress, or telling risqué jokes that probably still make his managers grind their teeth, Bublé is little changed from his breakout Babalu residency days in so many ways. Still another Italian-Canadian bro from Burnaby with a penchant for working with some of the biggest names in the business making major bank.

In what has now become formula for the artist, Higher mixes straight-ahead takes on time-tested classics from Bob Russell and Duke Ellington’s Don’t Get Around Much Anymore, and Eric Maschwitz and Manning Sherwin’s A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, to fairly obvious duets such as Crazy with Willie Nelson. These types of tunes typically cover the “vintage” selections on any of his recordings, certain to be both familiar and appealing to his older fans.

Then there are the next-tier tunes, such as Paul McCartney’s My Valentine or Bob Dylan’s Make You Feel My Love. More recent, but proven hits, these tracks are equally omnipresent in pop. To date, the Dylan side has been treated to versions by everyone from Adele and Pink to Kelly Clarkson and Garth Brooks. With strings to make Nelson Riddle nod in approval and a groove that would have fit perfectly in a ’70s era variety show, Bublé leans into the lyrics with his characteristic verve.

Where things get interesting is in his own songs. As Bublé’s career continues, there are more and more examples of original songs that stack up as the singer’s best. His concert setlist just isn’t complete anymore without 2005’s Home, 2007’s Lost, or 2009’s Haven’t Met You Yet. And Higher has a quartet of originals that are likely to find their way into his shows from now on as well.

Of these, I’ll Never Not Love You is a surefire winner. With its plaintive plea that “No matter what happens / I’ll never not love you” the Bublé and Michael Pollack track was produced by Peterborough, Ont. ace Greg Wells. With a resume that boasts everyone from Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa to John Legend and Kid Cudi, he puts a contemporary pop sheen on the song that has crossover potential across a multitude of radio formats. Wells’ hand is present on all of the originals and it’s a perfect fit.

Baby I’ll Wait boasts a rousing modern doo-wop style chorus while Higher is almost jarring in its pounding pop/R&B presentation. This is one of the first songs in Bublé’s catalogue that presents some intriguing possibilities for an extended remix. Those who attend his coming tour can expect an interesting arrangement for the song in concert, as Bublé usually has both a killer band as well as a full string section and veteran backing vocal groups. At this stage, Bublé could release a greatest hits package of only his co-written collaborations that would be huge.

One of the surprises that may appear in the show is the cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s Drivers License.

The singer’s recording of the global hit with the BBC Concert Orchestra in the Radio 2 Piano Room is a perfect example of his ability to adapt a song that shouldn’t work for him to sound like his own. Rather than hone in on the teen angst of the original, this take dives into the broken-hearted melancholy of looking back at someone who lied about love in the past. His whispered delivery of the line, “Yeah, you said forever, now I drive alone past your street” packs all the poignancy of an adult reminiscing about the past’s painful memories.

It’s that kind of style which translates into massive success, and this star is still in fine form.

REVIEW: Michael Bublé keeps his concert light and full of LOVE

Wednesday night's show at Rogers Place was a stop on his Higher tour where Bublé delivered a batch originals and what he considers the best bits of pop culture

If Michael Bublé is correct, then everyone present at Wednesday night’s Rogers Place concert was witness to the beginnings of a small population explosion in Edmonton.

REVIEW: Michael Bublé keeps his concert light and full of LOVE Back to video

Whether any “Bublé Babies” actually come out of the lounge-pop singer’s efforts to get his audience involved in post-show sexy time maneuverings remains to be seen, but it’s not for lack of trying. Right down to covering Barry White’s You’re the First, the Last, My Everything, with a gigantic, mid-song confetti explosion that could be read by prurient onlookers as something of a metaphor. So … how was it for you?

Bublé is all about the good times, and as a purveyor of such, he scrambles through pop culture in search of what he considers to be the best bits. There’s the unashamed, heart-tugging sentimentality of those Marvin Gaye and Sam Cooke standards he likes to pull out, but also the ebullient, swinging blast of Nat King Cole’s L-O-V-E, which Bublé gooses with a snatch of comedic beatboxing. He’s not a serious man, our Bublé.

Except he is a serious man when sending out a heartfelt thanks to the troops on his own song, Home, or lightly acknowledging personal demons on Hold On. You might even say he’s a serious man when he does his best Elvis on a stack of covers that suggest his personal road to Damascus moment involved repeated viewings of The ‘68 Comeback Special as much as any Tony Bennett album. That’s the vibe you got as Bublé stripped down from full orchestra to small band in the middle of the arena, gleefully hip shaking to All Shook Up, Fever and One Night. The original version of One Night, by the way, was about an orgy.

Interlaced through the concert, which is part of Bublé’s Higher tour celebrating the album of the same name, was a batch of Bublé originals. Haven’t Met You Yet and I’ll Never Not Love You are breezy little ditties, the former boasting a snatch of Sgt. Pepper’s brass, the latter trailing into new country territory. Higher itself shows Bublé adding contemporary pop to his musical armoury.

As a lounge singer rummaging through multiple genres, Bublé makes musical connections. He snuggles a swinging take on The Drifters’ Such a Night up against Dean Martin’s mambo-infused Sway, finger snaps his way through Anthony Newley’s Feeling Good, settles down for an introspective reading of Charlie Chaplin’s Smile with only his pianist holding down the fort. These are things you can only do when you’re surrounded by some seriously talented musicians, including string and brass sections.

Have we mentioned that Bublé is a goofball? That’s actually part of his appeal to the portion of audiences that have zero interest in any musical purism. He’ll playfully banter with an overly enthusiastic male patron in one of the upper sections, lacing his responses with arch innuendo, or spotlight a fan who has a tattoo of Bublé awkwardly eating corn on the cob on her arm. He mocks his own image, referring to himself as “Christmas boy,” quickly giving the finger to anyone who might slot him in as a harmless holiday singer. He’s got a filthy mouth, that one, but everyone from kids to grandparents love him for it.

All in all, it was exactly what you’d expect and want from a Michael Bublé concert, and if a few Bublé Babies result from the evening then consider that to be an added bonus.

Michael Bublé is a Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter originally from Burnaby in Canada who has sold over thirty million records worldwide.

Bublé's talents for jazz were first recognised at Christmas time when he was aged just thirteen yet managed to powerfully sing out a line from the popular 'White Christmas' on a family car ride. Bublé was encouraged to pursue singing by his Italian grandfather who booked him his first gig playing a club at the age of sixteen and then continued to pay for the singer's vocal lessons where he was coached by opera baritone Joseph Shore. His grandfather passionately supported his career, believing Michael was destined to be "an opening act for somebody in Las Vegas", he was inspired by his grandfather's jazz collection and continued to developed his classic Sinattra style.

Bublé's rise to fame was not considered easy, after winning a Canada Youth Talent Search competition, he asked Bev Delich to become his manager who then continued to book him every available gig including talent shows, conventions and cruise ships. His break came through the release of his self titled debut album in 2003 which debuted in the top ten of the Canadian charts, and topped the Australian top 40. His second album 'It's Time' faired better, topping charts in Canada, hitting top five in the UK and denting the top ten in the US where the album has gone on to sell nearly four millions.

His following two releases topped the charts in the UK, US, Canada and Australia and turned Bublé into a household name. His big band stylings and classic performance style won him a huge following who craved for the big brass of the 60's and 70's, his tours are known for his energetic stage personas and impressive vocal performance. He became an even more consistent household addition with the release of his 2011 album 'Christmas' which featured his distinct jazz vocal covering some holiday classics, it was another huge commercial success and was one of the year's biggest selling albums in the UK and Australia.

Live reviews

Write a review for Michael Bublé: more like write a book, the story of my dreams coming true :)

It all started back in about 2005, I started my first year of high school and as we all know sisters seem to have the natural inclination of claiming things from each other (without the other sister knowing of course). Now, I didn't feel the need to claim my older sister's clothes and make-up but I did however find a certain something that I was just never going to give back! At that stage my sister was working and I didn't really get an allowance so I thought I could borrow a few CD's to listen to on my walkman :) Michael Bublé's first self titled album happened to be one of the CD's I borrowed.

Needles to say I fell in love with the music and his voice and I did not return that CD! A few years later, they had a poster put up in the North of Johannesburg, near the Coca Cola Dome, announcing a Michael Bublé concert. I was obviously over the moon and immediately asked my father to please buy me a ticket, I must see his concert. My father did not see the need to buy me a ticket though, because Michael was not an artist that he had heard of, so he thought it would not be worth the money to buy for me.

In 2011, a new tour was announced and I was over the moon, I was working and could afford to buy my own ticket this time! However, the universe had a different plan for me. Tickets were sold out, radio stations (one specific radio station) was having competitions to win tickets, which I tried for every day I had to sit in my mother's car to listen to the radio because their was no signal in the flats we were living in. I tried twitter competitions as well and I just did not have any luck. My one friend had two tickets to the show, but she refused to sell me one ticket because she was taking her boyfriend with, which hurt even more because I knew he would not appreciate it as much as I would. I then when to the extent of looking at the on-line stores where people sell that things they do not want. People sold tickets for right at the back of the venue for R3000 a ticket, which was just ridiculous, who can afford that?

It was announced again last year (2014) that Michael will be touring here again. I WENT BALLISTIC! This time I was able to bag some really great seats... the odds were in my favour this time! :)

I had a count down set up to the big day, got all dressed up, bought some nice merchandise and then got a bit worried... You know often we build such great expectations, that real life can not reach that high we have set up in our minds... The opening act started.. Naturally 7, From the word go I had goosebumps all over! I was hitting my boyfriend's leg like an excited kid! They performed a few songs that I did not know and I was honestly having a blast listening to them, then they started performing their version of Coldplay - Fix you. I was sold! I sent my boyfriend to buy their CD while they were still performing (just in case it was sold out before we got a copy, haha) When they were done, the team started setting up the stage for the band, I waited as patiently as I could...

There was an introduction song that started up like a song from an old Hollywood film.

I clapped my hands together - again - like a kid. I could be mistaken because I was so excited, but the intro for cry me a river started playing and as it ended, FIRE WORKS, the curtain opened and standing on the ramp, my ultimate inspiration. He started singing Fever and slid down the ramp and the rest of the show was MAGIC!!!

I sang to each of the songs, danced and clapped my hands, I laughed and smiled so much that my face hurt! It was truly an amazing experience! He moved through the crowds, charmed them even. What a humble, funny guy!

Before the show started I told my boyfriend, " I know you think Michael isn't bad, but I BET YOU that after tonight you will think 1000 times more of him and his performance skills" after the show, I said to him I TOLD YOU SO :) he enjoyed it just as much as I did.

Going to his show was a dream come true for me, It was long awaited (since 2005), I thought my high expectations might ruin the show for me, but He met those high expectations and even topped them! I know it sounds far fetched to say, but HONESTLY this was the best night of my life! I would even go as far as saying, if I had the kind of money, I would follow his tours around the world!

I hope my review put in to perspective how awesome his show was and for those that think "Michael's music is boring or his show is boring" you will miss out if you do not go and see for yourself!

When i first watched Michael Bublé's live concert at Madison Square Garden through his DVD back in 2013, i knew that one day, in the distant future, i would sit in his live concert, enjoying his soulful voice, his vibrant music genres from jazz to pop, his charming witty humoring jokes.

And that one day came at 2015 February 6th. It was a magical night, an amazing experience he took us, the audience, all along.

From the cool-to-max-pyrotech "Fever" to upbeat staple "Haven't Met You Yet", Michael rocked the stage right off the first ten minutes. People danced to his songs, people joined in the fun by clapping their hands all along. And you would have a hard time believing how Michael Bublé was able to bring the whole Nippon Budokan to shake with him.

As he said, he was not doing a concert, but he was having a party, with us; his fans. It was a ride from the slow sad but honest "Try A Little Tenderness", following with multiple mash up from his hits of previous albums, you can be of sure that "To Be Loved" World Tour was full of Bublé's elements from the start of his career to the latest success of him.

Often we heard people or critics complaining that artists/singers fake their concert by using autotune, to prevent failure or so. But in Michael's show, be ready to hear his truest voice to the deepest end. In fact, he was being complete honest when he said he screwed up "Feeling Good". But Michael, don't worry. Your honesty won over every flaws there were. The effort and energy vibrated from you were just so strong that those flaws are what made you perfect.

Michael performed his self-labelled-its-sucks "Home", which crooned over everyone in the hall. I mean, who could have resisted to not think of their loves when he sang "i'd my run, baby i'm done, i want to go home".

Along with that, we also had Naturally 7 joined in the fun, with Motown classic "Who's Loving You", "To Love Somebody" and "Get Lucky". Forgot to mention, Naturally 7 warmed the hall up before Michael, and boy did they warm the hall, they pretty much rocked the hall and prepared us to meet the "feverish" man right after.

Not to mention also, the "Team Bublé" that performed all the musics flawlessly. It was one thing to watch their performance through videos, and another to truly enjoy their performance live. That bass, that saxophone, that trumpet, that trombone and others; the musical notes just sounded so much magical in live. Oh the ever superb percussion!

All in all, it was definitely a night well spent. You won't regret the money you bought to enjoy this man's talent. I will go for his concerts in future again, again and again, just like his sincere honesty in "Song For You", that very last part where he sang with no mic, and got my goosebumps up,

"And when my life is over, I'll remember when we were together,

'Cause we're alone, and I was singing my song for you."

We all love you, Michael Bublé.

Naturally 7, which was the opening act for the Michael Bublé concert here in Ottawa last nite, was PHENOMENAL!!!!!! By far the best opening act I have ever seen. They had us up out of our seats dancing to their acoustic sound. No instruments, all sounds performed by themselves using their mouth. Certainly had us warmed up for the man himself, the wonderful, soulful, funny Michael Bublé. Michael puts on a show like no other. He is simply the best, in my opinion of course. His charm and wit resonated throughout his performance last nite. I had never been to a concert of his before, but, I can honestly say that last nite will not be my last. Aside from him being a world renowed artist who hails from CANADA, he is really down to earth. All his fame and fortune has not gone to his head, like it has for many other artists in the business. He is very proud to talk about his wife and son and being a first time Dad. Sure he makes some sexual jokes, which did not offend me. I very much enjoyed his humour, as did many others in attendance last nite. He also spoke very fondly of his dear Grandpa, who was actually in the audience who received a huge round of applause.

He sung all my favourites: Fever, Home, Close Your Eyes, Crazy Love, Save the Last Dance for Me, amongst many others. His voice is always smooth and certainly puts you in the mood. I was actually surprised as to how many men were at the concert. Whether they were dragged by their wife/girlfriend didn't matter, it was nice to see in a sea of women. I had a really great seat as front row beside middle stage where the sound crew sat. One of the highlites for me was when his gorgeous wife arrived with their son with his headphones on to this area. Michael was singing with Naturally 7 on this stage and stopped to admire both of them and had is very adorable son's face put on the big screen. He really is one smitten husband and Dad.

Michael did not want to finish the concert last nite, nor did I want him to. I was enjoying myself so much and when I looked around me, so was everyone else.

When I attend a concert, I want to be entertained and last nite I was thoroughly entertained. Thank you Michael for giving me the best Wednesday nite in a very long time and I look forward to the next time we meet again.

A fan from day one.

Seeing Michael Buble live was something I’d dreamed of for years, and when I finally was able to experience an O2 Arena performance, I was not disappointed at all. The show, beginning to end was spectacular. The vocals, performance, and atmosphere was stunning.

The supports were pretty good at warming up the crowd ready for Michaels performance, and by the time he was ready to come on stage, the arena was buzzing. It’s awesome how he really interacts with the crowd, and even in such a massive venue he was addressing all areas of the stadium and even hopped down to grab the hands of some of the standing audience in the front which was so cool.

All his classic songs were so amazing and everyone was on their feet and singing along. It’s incredible how he can maintain such a strong vocal performance throughout 2 hours of nonstop singing with so much energy. Even if you’re not a fan, I think that it’s a concert for everyone and seeing him live will convert you.

Michael Buble was full of energy Saturday at Air Canada Centre and the result was a concert that won't soon be forgotten. It started with an amazing opening act from Naturally 7, a band that uses its voices as the instruments and continued with a wide array of Buble favorites, including "All you need is love" performed by the singer as white and red hearts floated down from the roof. He had the crowd dancing in their seats at times and those who wouldn't dance, he had highlighted on the big screens on either side of the stage until they started dancing. With the opening act, the show lasted nearly three hours and I don't see how anyone could have gone home disappointed. It was a great night. if I had but one regret, it was that Buble did not perform my favorite song of his, Summer Wind, but there were sure lots of other great songs to make up for that. It was a most memorable night.

I'm not a fan of Michael Bublé. I don't dislike him, I think he's very talented and good at what he does. But I'm just not into him/his music all that much, just indiferrent.

However I went to the concert with my family relatives and significant other — who happen to LOVE him and his music.

It was great to see him on stage, along with fantastic opening act Emeli Sandé. Bublé was coming back on stage after a few years and whereas I would have expected a more polished "american show", he went in more relaxed, taking the time to talk with the audience and make jokes. It was a lot of fun, and he's a lot funnier than I anticipated. I definitely laughed at his comedic bits, not something I anticipated.

In terms of the show and the performance itself, you can tell the guy is a pro, and his band was just as great!

Overall a suprisingly great time!

This Concert was AMAZING! I loved every minute, it was full of love and laughter AND all of my favourite songs. Thank You Michael! On your previous trip to ANZ Stadium it was so washed out with the rain you even said we all looked like a row of condoms sitting in our plastic rain covers and all I could see of you was a pin prick size picture on a large TV screen...it was so disappointing after flying in from Queensland. BUT this time our seats were near the front and it was great to see and hear you in the flesh! It made up for all the disappointment of the previous trip...and you are the only artist I have ever been to a concert for, I will try to go every time you return to Australia, so PLEASE come back soon. I recommend this artist and concert to all ages it was fantastic...We need a new album of all your own songs please.

Michael Buble’s concert in Sydney was definately one of the best shows I’ve ever seen! First, the band, the arrangemets which all were changed even more bigger than I new them before, backing vocalists and their movements :), setlist itself. A very good and precise lightning and director work.

But of course, it all would have been nothing, if there wasn’t such an indescribably perfect frontman!!!

The combination of perfect humor, musicallity, good taste of music and singing. The very special charming movements, his looks etc..

the very memorable moment for me was the lady from the fan zone who started to sing.. But not because of the nice singing, but the mistery about the band joining. I think I figured it out how you guys did it and again say wow!! :)

Thank you for the amazing evening!

The concert was fantastic!

Obviously the voice was out of this world, even when you are all the way back in the cheap seats :) *The orchestra was amazing too! Not only is he an amazing singer he is a great entertainer as well. Michael Bublé interacts with the audience (he even gets people up on stage with him to sing) and makes the audience feel at home. He stops after a few songs to talk to the audience about how happy he is to see this audience in front of him. He even makes the audience laugh with occasional jokes! The visuals, so the screens and the set up, were beautiful.

It was an amazing experience and I would love to go to one of his concerts again.

When seeing Michael expect more of a show than a concert. Needless to say, it was amazing. He really draws you in with his sense of humor and shows how down to earth he can be. He takes breaks in between songs to talk and crack jokes which kept everyone's interest throughout. Not that he needed to stop between songs but it was quite refreshing to experience a concert in that sort of way. The venue we watched the show in was quite large but somehow he makes the concert feel very intimate. His encore was breathtaking and very unexpected. Over all no matter how old or young you are (although I wouldn't recommend bringing your kids to this!) this is something you would enjoy!
