The price from our following points for sharing-based transportation is 180 AED per head if minimum two person including one UAE residents. This price includes a full-day cruise with all activities, round-trip transportation, launch, and an Oman entry permit (so-called OMAN visa). Self-drive to Oman’s Dibba port costs 149/person.

Please note: If you plan on coming by yourself, you must first arrive at the Diba al Hisn Border. As soon as you arrive, you’ll get your Oman entry permit from one of our staff members. Afterwards, you can cross the border with your own car and travel to the cruise point that’s located about a two-minute drive from the Dibba al Hisn border. If you do not own the car, ensure you have an NOC letter with you. Also, the Oman police MIGHT ask for Oman car insurance so bring it.

Muandam Tour Itinerary

Our meeting places are listed above. You must meet at one of these locations if you have not booked a pickup from home/hotel or self-drive to Oman. One of our drivers will meet you and accompany you to the port when you arrive at your selected point. In most cases it doesn’t take more than two hours to reach the Dibba port from Dubai. Please be aware that you may be transported in an air-conditioned bus or van with other guests, depending on availability. Don’t forget to carry your original passport as it’s required for checkpoint clearance.

If you intend to drive yourself to port, upon reaching the Dibba al-Hisn border, you will be given an entry permit for Oman. Then, in order to reach Dabba port, you must cross the border in your own vehicle. While the Oman coastal department does not generally check Oman insurance at this border, it is a wise idea to ask your insurance agent. If it supports it, get the relevant documentation. By default, most UAE insurance companies cover Oman insurance. Do not forget to obtain a NOC (No Objection Certificate) if the car is not in your ownership. Be sure to arrive at the border by 9:30 am.

Border Crossing:

As soon as you reach the Dibba al-Hisn border, you’ll receive your Oman entry permit from us. Next, one of the police officers will check your information against your original passport. So, remember to bring your original documents with you as you will need to show them for checkpoint clearance.

Moreover, if you are a UAE resident, you need to bring your UAE visa/Emirates ID. If you’re traveling on a UAE visit visa, make sure you have a copy of your visa. In case you do not have an UAE visa but rather a stamp on your passport like Western citizens, your original passport is acceptable for the Dibba-all-hisn border crossing.

Even though a 3-month passport and visa validity is not required at the Dibba border, your documents need to be valid and have at least two days remaining on their expiration date.

Additionally, do not under any circumstances carry any alcohol with you unless you want to get into legal trouble. In this area, it is categorically prohibited.

Get On Cruise:

Upon arrival at the port, you will be transferred to our Dhow cruise. Now you can rehydrate yourself by consuming beverages like coffee, juice, water, etc. After a while, our cruise will proceed in the direction of HAFFA BEACH or “SANAT BEACH.” The journey to get there take roughly an hour.

Our well-maintained double-deck traditional style large Dhow cruise can carry over 100 passengers and will pass Hajar mountain, which covers approximately 500 square kilometers.

Additionally, during the trip you’ll see a fishermen’s village or Sakhi village. Almost all of the villagers are fishermen as Musandam is known as one of the primary fishery lands of Oman.

Arrival at the Beach:

Upon arriving at the beach, you will be offered water-based fun activities such as snorkeling and kayaking. A blasting speed boat and a banana boat ride as well. In addition, you can also swim in the deep cold Gulf ocean. Aside from that, there is a photo section.

Launch at Cruise:

After the exciting activities, you can return to your dhow cruise and have a great continental style buffet lunch on board. You will not be charged any additional fees because everything is included in the package. Then, we head over for fishing and the limestone (White Rock) visit.

Fishing & Cave Visit.

When you’ve finished with your lunch, we will depart toward the WHITESTONE area. On the way, we will do some fishing. Upon reaching the WHITESTONE area, we will take you to GORILLA ROCK and a cave visit. The Musandam Dibba tour concludes around 4 p.m. Prepare to board your bus and make your trip to Dubai. You’ll be safely back home by 7:30 p.m.

We were driven out of Dubai and then transferred to a bus. We arrived in Oman after about 2 hours on the road. They took us out on a speed boat after we had anchored the boat. The views were breathtaking. We came to a halt to prepare for the banana ride. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. It is something I would recommend to others.

We began our day with a 7 a.m. pick-up (we were staying at the palm), arrived at the boat around 10:30, and the rest of the day was pure relaxation and fun. It takes 2 to 2.5 hours to get from Dubai to the Omani mountains. A two-hour boat ride. We saw a lot, from crossing the land border between the UAE and Oman to seeing the caves, coves, and landscape of beautiful Oman, swimming in sandy beaches, diving off the Dhow, and driving through six Emirates. I had a great time and will return with my friends in the future.

For the smooth sailing of your adventure, we need a copy of your passport and visa page at least one week before the trip date. Keep in mind that on the day of the trip, your original passport is the key to crossing the border.

Best time to visit Musandam

Since the entire tour of Musandam is completely an outdoor experience, we would suggest you visit this place during the winter season in the Middle east. Ideally, the right time to visit Musandam is between the months of October and March since these are the winter months in this part of the world. Between April and September, you will find the weather to be quite hot. The water bodies will be warm and not comfortable enough for diving. In January and February, Musandam gets a bout of showers which makes the place the two coolest months to visit Oman. However, if you are affable to warm weather and like to travel to places when they are less crowded, then March would be the ideal time to visit Musandam. You will also find cheaper deals on hotels during the month of March.

Primarily a peninsula that juts into the gateway between the Arabian Sea and the Persian Gulf, the Musandam region is rich in natural wonder - geological formations, land and sea life, old fishing villages, stone houses and Portuguese forts.

A drastic change from the scenery of Dubai, this tour of Khasab, the capital of Musandam, and cruise in the surrounding waters offer a unique getaway from the urban jungle of Dubai. You will be part of a peaceful and scenic environment, surrounded by the rugged mountains of Musandam standing in the sea. You will also be able to put on your swimming gear, dive into the waters and swim with the fishes in the surrounding seas. The tour is also inclusive of a sumptuous buffet lunch that is served on board the dhow.

Your Experience

The experience begins at your residence where you will be picked up in a luxury bus and embark on your journey towards Musandam. On the way, you will drive past the Hajar mountain ranges on one side and the Persian Gulf on the other. There will be multiple stops for taking photographs as well. This journey is refreshing and scenic in its own right.

After this 2-hour journey, you will reach the Musandam Khasab harbor and board a traditional Omani dhow for your cruise. The cruise will take you past one of the largest fjords, or rock canyons, of the region - Khor Al Shim. Here, you can don your swimming gear and go for a snorkeling session in the sea. There will be refreshments throughout the cruise.

You will also have a chance to see dolphins swimming with their schools and diving in and out of the sea. Following this marvelous experience, you will enjoy a delicious continental lunch buffet on your dhow. After the 5-hour cruise, you will return to the port with unforgettable memories of the place. Finally, you will be transferred back to Dubai to your residence.

Know Before You Go

• The total duration of the cruise is 5 hours. You will be picked up from your residence in Dubai at 6:30 AM.
• Note: The drive from the hotel to Musandam, which takes 1.5 to 2 hours each way, is not included in the cruise's duration.

Meeting Point

• If you do not opt for hotel pick up and drop off, you must meet your tour guide at the Dibba Al Hisn Border Check point, Corniche St, Dibba, Oman. If you choose to be picked up and dropped off at your hotel, the experience will begin and end at your place of stay. It takes 2 hours to reach Musandam from Dubai.

Important Information

• A current valid passport is required on the day of travel.
• Please note that both UAE Residents and those holding a Tourist Visa must send a copy of their passport prior to their tour in order to get their Border Pass processed, without which guests cannot cross the Dibba checkpoint.
• The border pass, once processed, will remain at the Dibba checkpoint and will only serve for the corresponding valid passport.
• Bring along your sunglasses, sunscreen, change of clothes, towel, swimwear, fishing equipment.

• For UAE Residents: To get the border passes we need copy of passport & visa page at least three working days before the trip date. While on the day of the trip original passport required to cross the border.
• For Tourist/Visit Visa: Passport copies 3 days before the trip are required and original passport on the day of the trip required.
• Note: Children below 3 years of age is free of charge for the Musandam Dibba Tour. However, they will still require the same documents as adults to process the permit.

• All our tours & excursion are on sharing basis or private basis with or without transportation from the UAE.
• Participants need to carry their original passport with a minimum of 3 months validity.

Cancellation & Amendment Policy:

• Individual bookings shall be entitled to cancel or make amendments up to 3 days (72 hours) prior to the activity.
• 72 hours Cancellation will be eligible for full refund except 3.8% refund processing fee while amendment will be free of charge. 
• Cancellation less than 72 hours in advance - 75% of the booking cost will be charged
• Cancellation less than 48 hours in advance - 100% of the booking cost will be charged  
• Group bookings of 15 and above shall be entitled to cancel or make amendments up to 5 days prior to the activity. 
• In the event of poor weather conditions or other external factors out of our reasonable control, the flight may be canceled at short notice, without any charges being applied to the client. Tour can be re-scheduled as agreed, otherwise, a refund will be issued.
• In case of cancellations and refund 3.80% bank processing fees will apply.

Starting with an early morning from the hotel / residence in Dubai, we proceed toward the immigration check point where each individuals travel documents are checked by the inspectors. We then head towards our Dhow docked a few minutes away from the check point. Upon completion of the boarding procedure, our traditional 2 deck dhow sets sail towards the Sandy Beach in Musandam. On the course of this journey you may also be able to spot dolphins or enjoy the sights of them swimming along the dhow. Fresh fruits are served aboard along with water and soft drinks. Wearing the life jackets provided is strongly recommended. After enjoying the sights along the way the boat docks at the short distance from the beach. Then begins the speed boat tour, which allows you to visit a popular cave in the area. Guests are then dropped to the beach where they can enjoy the sun or choose to snorkel. You Need to Know

Reach the Khasab Port and transfer to our Dhow.

Leave the Khasab Port for the fjords of Musandam on an Omani Dhow.

Dhow cruise is on Khor Shem, the 17km long fjord with crystal clear water.

The scenic beauty of the mountain range of Hajr is simply gorgeous.

There would be a chance encounter with frolicking dolphins during the dhow cruise on Khor Shem.

There are many villages located on the islands of Khasab. It is the first such village with only 50 inhabitants.

Visit the small fishing village where stone houses blend with the cliff on which they are located, thus providing them with the first line of defense in the olden days.

The smallest village with only 10 houses where the inhabitants earn their livelihood by cattle herding and fishing.

Jazirat al Maqlab – Here, the British laid the first telegraph cable. Best for diving and watching butterflyfish here.

The Dhow is anchored at Telegraph Island for 1-1/2 hours for Snorkelling and diving.

Musandam Khasab fjords sea bed is lined with corals inhabited by groupers, butterflyfish, and wide other colorful varieties of fish.

The Hajr Mountain – Close Encounter with the Oldest Mountain Range in the Middle East

The mountain of Hajr is a range of calcified rocks with many uniquely shaped caves. The road-hugging this mountain ranges negotiates many hairpins bends to keep you gripping your seat. Very soon, the Persian sea appears on the other side. The blue waters of the Gulf run along on one side, and the imposing Hajr mountain range on the other side creates a mesmerizing view. Your road trip ends when you reach the Dibba coast, where a beautiful and well-decorated Dhow awaits you. The Dhow is enormous and has two decks. Dibba Al-Baya ( Arabic : دبا البيعة, Dibba Al-Baya ) is a small border town in the southeastern corner of Oman 's Musandam Peninsula exclave. It faces the Emirati conurbation that is also called Dibba , which lies both in an exclave of the Sharjah Emirate and in the Fujairah emirate. About 5,000 people live in this Omani town.

Dibba has a large natural harbour on the East Coast of the Gulf of Oman and in previous periods of history, it was attacked and conquered by several regional and colonial powers. Today Dibba is the entry point to Eastern Musandam and rather a classic border town.

By car [ edit ].

For years the border between Dibba (UAE) and Diba (Musandam) has been barely noticed. During the last few years, the UAE and Oman have severely beefed up the border and built fences. The easiest way in is from the UAE side on the roads E-99 from Fujairah or E-89 from Masafi. It's about 1-1.5 hours' drive from Dubai.

There is a gravel road to Zighy bay and a dirt road to Khasab. The conditions are adventurous and the trek should not be done with only one 4WD, as no facilities for stranded travellers are available.

On Tuesdays (departure 10:00, arrival 12:30) and Thursdays (departure 12:30, arrival 15:00) ferries arrive from Khasab and continue on to Shinas, in northern Oman. On Sundays and Thursdays (departure 13:00, arrival 15:30) ferries arrive from Shinas and depart for Khasab. All ferries have free Wi-Fi, with lunch, snacks and beverages included in the ticket price. There is no ticket office in Dibba, so you will need to purchase your ticket by phone, or in Khasab or Shinas. You should get your ferry ticket in advance to ensure your place on the boat. By bus [ edit ].

You can reach Dibba Musandam by bus as well. It takes a maximum of 3 hours to reach. Many travel agencies arrange group tours to Dibba Musandam. In order to get a one day permit, you need to submit your passport and UAE visa or resident card copies. At the checkpost, you need to show your original passport and visas. So while travelling you should not forget to take your documents with you.

Dibba is a pretty compact town and all important offices, shops and businesses are within the Dibba Ring Rd. Therefore, walking is the easiest option.

There are no attractions within the small town of Dibba itself. The main thing to see is the unspoilt nature around the town. Anything more than basic staples and food is better bought in Dibba (United Arab Emirates) . Most of the food is imported from the UAE or other countries. Traditionally, vegetables were grown in the area, but imported goods are cheaper today.

Eat [ edit ]

Most hotels run a restaurant that is open for non-staying guests as well. During the weekend most hotels offer buffets which are popular with families, package tourists and groups. The Golden Tulip and Six Senses hotels operate the only fancier restaurants. If you are looking for international cuisine or anything more than basic kebabs, you will need to dine in the Fujairah resorts and restaurants.

Tea and water are the standard choices in Dibba. Alcohol is served in licensed restaurants and hotels (e.g. Golden Tulip or Six Senses) but not in standard restaurants.

Sleep [ edit ]

Most hotels are located in the UAE as the Emirate of Fujairah has invested heavily in the tourism industry. Nevertheless, Musandam has the better reefs and marine life, so serious divers and climbers usually stay on the Omani side for a couple of nights. Most dive centers have a small lodge where divers can sleep as this is a requirement for non-GCC UAE Residents.
