Discovering David, Panama 🗺️ A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Central America

' src=

If you are planning a trip to Central America, don’t miss out on the charming town of David in Panama. Located in the western part of the country, David is a hidden gem that is often overlooked by travelers.

However, this town has plenty to offer, from its vibrant culture to its stunning natural attractions. In this article, we’ll guide you through the top things to do and see in David, Panama.

When planning our trip through Panama , we thought it would be a good idea to break our journey to Boquete in David.

In practice, there’s no real need to do this when travelling from Santa Catalina. This is because the regular shuttle bus service from Santa Catalina travels straight to Boquete with just a short stop in David.

In any case, we interrupted our journey from Santa Catalina to Boquete by stopping for a night at the Hotel Residencial Cervantes in David.

Getting to Know David

David is a city with a rich history and culture that dates back to pre-colonial times. The indigenous Ngäbe-Buglé people have lived in the area for thousands of years, and their influence can still be felt throughout the region today.

With a population of around 150,000 people, it is the third-largest city in the country.

When it comes to getting around David, there are plenty of options available. The city has a well-developed transportation network, with buses and taxis readily available. If you’re looking to explore the surrounding countryside, renting a car is also a great option.

We were dropped off our bus at the north end of the city, and walked down to the center. It wasn’t too far to walk, and considering the amount of traffic crawling along the road into town, this was probably the best way of travelling.

However, it’s difficult to find street names, so our GPS map turned out to be useful.

Exploring David’s Historic Landmarks

David is home to several historic landmarks that offer visitors a glimpse into the city’s rich past.

Parque Cervantes

Parque Cervantes is a beautiful park located in the heart of David. The park is known for its impressive statue of Miguel de Cervantes, the Spanish author of the famous novel, Don Quixote.

Parque Cervantes is a great place to relax and enjoy the local culture, as it is often used for outdoor concerts and festivals.

Museo de Historia de David

The Museo de Historia de David is a small museum that showcases the history and culture of the town. The museum has exhibits that date back to pre-Columbian times, as well as displays that highlight the colonial period and the town’s development over time.

Sendero Los Quetzales

Sendero Los Quetzales is a popular hiking trail that starts in the town of Boquete and ends in Cerro Punta. The trail is named after the rare and beautiful quetzal bird, which can be spotted along the way. The trail is approximately 9 kilometers long and takes around 5 hours to complete.

Parque Nacional Marino Golfo de Chiriqui

Parque Nacional Marino Golfo de Chiriqui is a national park located off the coast of David. The park is known for its beautiful beaches and diverse marine life. Visitors can go snorkeling or scuba diving to see colorful coral reefs, sea turtles, and schools of tropical fish.

Where to Stay in David, Panama

There are several accommodation options in David, ranging from budget-friendly hostels to luxury hotels. Our hotel of choice was the Hotel Residencial Cervantes , located in the center of town.

Hotel Residencial Cervantes David

The room we were given at the hotel was a bit old-fashioned, with a dated airco system. But the bed was comfortable and there was cable TV. Our room cost $42 for the one night, including taxes but excluding breakfast.

Since we arrived late afternoon, it was already getting dark when we found a Romero supermarket close to the hotel. We bought some snacks there to eat back at the hotel.

Early the following morning we took a look around the area close to the hotel. David, officially San José de David , is the capital of the province of Chiriquí. We were located close to the  Parque Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra .

Right next door to our hotel we found a bakery where we ordered pasties and coffee. Nearby, there was a lot of commercial activity around the busy  Parque Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra .

You can also visit the Parish church – Parroquia La Sagrada Familia .

Chiriqui’s Indigenous People

More noticeable in David than in other places we visited in Panama were the  Ngäbe – Chiriqui’s indigenous people.

The women and young girls often wear the traditional brightly colored cotton dresses with shoulder and neckline adornments, and embroidered bands around the waist and bottom. These are called naguas , and are usually made at home.

The triangular and straight-line designs represent the mountains and rivers of  Comarca .

The Ngäbes have distinctive high cheekbones, broad faces, full mouths, thick straight black hair, tanned skin, short stature and stocky body size.

Onwards to Boquete via David Central Bus Station

The main bus station in David is on Paseo Estudiante , just 10 minutes walk from the Hotel Residencial Cervantes .

The bus station platforms are clearly marked. Luckily, we were among the first to board our minibus to Boquete . The bus rapidly filled to capacity, with not even standing room. We were planning to spend 4 days up in the mountains of the extensive Boquete region.

However, our first priority would be trying to explain to the bus conductor exactly where we wanted to get off…

David, Panama Vacation Guide

David is the third largest city in Panama and the capital of the  Chiriqui province . It is a very convenient stop over point for several important destinations within Chiriqui, such as the flower and coffee highlands of Boquete and Cerro Punta. It is located 45 minutes from Paso Canoas, the border of Costa Rica and you can also drive to Bocas del Toro via David with your rental car.

The city of David is on the coastal plain. It is a market town and center for the thriving farming industry that is the main economic activity of the Chiriqui province. David is not quite a frontier town, but the feeling is there. It is a regional commercial and processing center. Raising cattle is the principal occupation in the region, but tropical fruits, coffee, cacao, and sugar are also produced. The city is surrounded by the beautiful and picturesque highlands of Chiriqui.

In the center of town you will find the central park. Here locals come to visit or just to relax under the shade of the trees. Street vendors will shine your shoes or sell you a cold drink, a freshly cracked coconut or the juice from sugar cane grounded on the spot. In March David hosts the Feria Internacional de David, where International companies exhibit their products and services to Panama. The Childrens Day Festival is held on or around July 17th every year.

David, Panama

David, the provincial capital of Chiriquí province, is the second largest city in Panama (pop. 140,000) and the hub for visits to the highlands or other parts of western Panama. Though there are attractive areas within the city, David primarily serves as a place to refuel before launching into other adventures within the region.

David Panama

Set in the lowlands of the Chiriquí province, David is a lively city bustling with commerce and people. Its orderly streets are lined with fruit vendors and shoe salesmen, department stores, restaurants, and movie theaters. Its spacious central plaza, Parque Cervantes, is one of the city’s more attractive areas, providing the perfect spot to take a break from shopping or do some people-watching. The plaza is lined on its northwest side by the Iglesia de la Sagrada Familia, a church that dates back to the 19th century. A few blocks southeast of Parque Cervantes is Barrio Bolívar, a colorful neighborhood filled with colonial-era buildings, a museum, and the Catedral San José de David. The cathedral, consecrated in 1891, has undergone several restorations which have destroyed much of the original structure though left an attractive crumbling tower more or less intact.

The Chiriquí province contains the most fertile farmland in the country, and every year the city hosts the Feria Internacional de David, a huge trade fair that attracts vendors from all over Latin America. Although there are some folkloric crafts and traditional dancing, the fair is mainly a massive agriculture, livestock, and commerce convention. If in the area, it’s worth it to stop by to check out the festivities; needless to say, the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree here and is extremely fresh.

While there is some merit in visiting David purely for its fast-paced bustle, most visitors only stop by for a day or a night before heading on. David’s bus terminal is packed with buses leaving for destinations throughout the Chiriquí province and the rest of the country. Popular routes include Almirante (the port town with water taxis to Isla Colón), Boquete, Cerro Punta, Puerto Armuelles (the port town with buses to Punta Burica), Las Lajas, and Panama City. Furthermore, David has an airport which offers domestic flights to both Bocas del Toro (Isla Colón) and Panama City.

David’s visitor services are extensive – there are both IPAT and ANAM offices (respectively, Panama’s tourism and environmental agencies), hospitals, pharmacies, post offices, banks, internet cafés, supermarkets, launderettes, shopping malls, and rental car agencies. Accommodations vary, with everything from hostels to fancy hotels found within the city limits. Dining options are widespread as well, and there are a number of bars and discos that can keep visitors dancing until the morning. Other entertainment options abound, including movie theaters, billiard tables and bowling alleys.

The most accessible beach within driving distance is Playa Barqueta. 30 km southwest of David, this black-sand beach is popular with families during the weekends, and is relatively deserted during weekdays. The beach is wide and the surf here is strong—definitely not a great spot for swimming, but there are some decent waves if you’ve got a surfboard. Refugio de Vida Silvestre La Barqueta, a wildlife refuge which stretches 10 km down the beach, is also accessible from here. During the months of June through November, the refuge attracts sea turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs.

David is the jumping-off point for all kinds of adventures, including Punta Burica (120 km northeast), Boca Brava and Parque Nacional Marino Golfo de Chiriquí (56 km southeast), Boquete and Parque Nacional Volcán Barú (40 km west), Cerro Punta and Parque Internacional La Amistad (74 km northwest), and Bocas del Toro (115 km northwest).

david panama tourism

David is the capital city for Chiriqui province in the Pacific West of Panama .

Understand [ edit ]

It is on the Pan American Highway and is one of the most prosperous areas of Panama, with good infrastructure.

Although, David is not particularly interesting, it has good tourist services (hotels and restaurants) and is a convenient transport hub for destinations in the region like Boquete, Boca Chica, the volcano, hot springs and many cool little places.

Get in [ edit ]

david panama tourism

By plane [ edit ]

A taxi to the airport from the center of David should not cost more than $ 3 per person.

By bus [ edit ]

Two bus companies offer service from the Albrook Mall terminal in Panama City to and from David. Prices for either are around $15 per person, slightly more for the nighttime express buses (10pm, 11, 12, and 3am from the David bus terminal). It's a 7 hr ride. The buses are modern, relatively safe, keep track of luggage well, and will probably show a second-rate action movie, though maintenance leaves something to be desired, especially in the bathrooms. Both companies stop in the city of Santiago on the way to David for bathroom breaks and food. Highly suggested that you try some of the food they serve at these stops. Also, you'll find a cart where they sell sweets (mini chocolate eggs and another square treat called cocada), try them out.

David is also served by many "Coaster" local buses, which you can often flag down along the Interamericana to get to David. (During peak times, sometimes they'll even run Coasters from Panama City.) They're definitely less safe and usually less comfortable; you may end up standing for much of the trip.

Other destinations from the David bus terminal include Paso Canoas border with Costa Rica (1 hr 30 min, $2), Boquete (1 hr, $1.75), and Almirante (3-4 hr, $8.45) for Bocas del Toro and the Atlantic coast (look for buses to Changuinola, which is a bit past Almirante).

Get around [ edit ]

By car [ edit ].

There are stop signs at most intersections, but in Spanish "Alto" means two things, 1. stop, and 2. HIGH, so there's a joke that some people think "alto" street signs means pass at a high speed. Seriously though, you have to be very DEFENSIVE if you're just driving on the same road, and very OFFENSIVE if you're making a turn, if you're trying to get to the other side of the intersection, etc...

Most, if not all buses travel to terminal in David. Just stand on the side of the road and wave down a bus when you see it. They'll have written on the window where they go to and where they come from.

See [ edit ]

Do [ edit ].

There's quite a bit to do in David. It all depends on what one likes and what time of year you visit.

  • There are a few Casinos in the city that you can visit, the two most popular ones are Royal Casino, and the Fiesta Casino (Fiesta is in the Hotel Gran Nacional).
  • There are a few nightclubs to go to, $3 cover, no dress code, $20 for bottle service (Carta Vieja Rum), which is what most people get here.
  • There are different types of festivals throughout the year, but the best ones are in the beginning of the year, timed with the Carnavales in different parts of the country.
  • There's plenty of adventure sport and naturalist activities for those so inclined within an hour's drive all over the Province of Chiriqui .

Also checkout the other sights around the region .

Buy [ edit ]

Eat [ edit ].

There are really a lot of places to eat at.

  • Buonos Bistro S.A Fast Food Urbangrill , Av. Obaldia and Calle L Norte . Tu-Sa Noon-22:30, Su 15:00-22:30 . Refined fast food place.
  • Haileys , C Aristides Romero (Hwy 114) ( across from Global Bank ), ☏ +507 709-3799 . Daily Noon-21:00 . Burger combos with waffle fries and ice cream.

Drink [ edit ]

  • Carta Vieja, Panama's Rum. No matter where you go in this town to enjoy it's nightlife, you'll see Carta Vieja bottles around you. The clubs offer bottle service, which really, everyone gets. $20 will get you a bottle of Carta Vieja, bottle of coke, and ice, split that up between however many people you go with, and done.
  • El Hangar . If you are the type of person who just likes to have a beer and relax with some friends, El Hangar (The Hangar) is the place to go. It's a drive-thru bar basically. You go, buy your drinks, park your car, and either pump YOUR music, or listen to the music other people are pumpin from their car. It's a nightclub where the patrons are the DJ's basically.

Sleep [ edit ]

There are many lodging options in the city including many fine and reasonably priced hotels. Many of the hotels are owned by families' of Spanish origin, so they have names like Hotel Toledo, Hotel Madrid, Hotel Alcala, Hotel Iberia, Hotel Galicia, etc.

For the backpacking traveler ready for some urban action, clubs, casinos and 24 Hour shopping, consider staying in one of the backpacker hostels especially geared toward the budget traveler.

  • Hotel Toledo . In easy walking distance from the bus terminal. Rooms are simple, though small and can be dark, but it has helpful front desk staff, hot showers, and good free WiFi. With a laundromat around the corner and a supermarket and restaurants nearby, it's a good place to stay the night if you're arriving late or leaving early.
  • Bambu Hostel , Calle De La Virgencita, San Mateo Abajo , ☏ +507 730-2961 . In the San Mateo District of David, Panama. It has a deluxe in ground pool, small gym and a mayan style rancho bar. The owner Gregg Lapkin is a New York City musician and is a well informed host. Bambu Hostel is an International Backpackers Hostel.
  • City Plaza Hotel & Suites , Ave. F SUR – Northeast, Avenida Segunda, David Chiriqui ( In the center of David's commercial zone ), ☏ +507 775 1188 . It has 78 rooms, 2 restaurants, 1 bar and 3 meeting rooms. ( updated Dec 2019 )

Cope [ edit ]

There is a pretty useful and quite cheap luggage storage at the bus terminal, which you might want to use, travelling the region. $0.75 for first 24 hr, then about $1 per day.

Go next [ edit ]

  • San José, Costa Rica – There are direct buses every day from David to San Jose (Costa Rica) .
  • Boquete – Touristic epicenter of this region (in the Mountain Highlands near David) with some of the best coffee in the world (including numerous tours), and lots of activities like hiking (Quetzal Trail and Volcan Baru), rock climbing, bird watching, horseback riding, and rafting.
  • Volcán – Another mountain town with some hikes, less touristy than Boquete
  • Las Lajas – Remote, magnificent beach, luxuriant vegetation, beginners surfing.
  • Panama City – It's a 7 hour bus ride with a stop in Santiago de Veraguas.

IS DAVID, PANAMA SAFE?

It is safe in David. People here seem honest and not too hard done by.

RENT AN APARTMENT IN DAVID

$500 will rent you a two bedroom place near downtown David.

BEST BARS & NIGHTLIFE IN DAVID

Choices are not plentiful; you basically have only one good bar in David: Opium Club. Fortunately, it’s actually OK. If you’re not into discos so much, there’s a bar and casino at Gran Hotel Nacional.

I recommend: Opium Club.Mid-sized club. Always crowded on weekends. You’ll be exotic here because any foreigners that pass through David are only doing so to get to or from Bocas del Toro so they never stay long. A high number of guys to contend with on most nights. The David bar scene will seem kind of bush league if you’ve partied in Panama City , but OK for a small metropolis.

HOW TO GET TO DAVID, PANAMA

Many people stop in to David on the way to Boquete , Volcan and other parts of Chiriqui province. Boquete is only a 1 hour drive from David. Some people drive all the away from Panama City, a drive that takes 6 to 7 hours. You can also get here easily from Costa Rica. San Jose, Costa Rica is a 7 hour drive away.

COST OF LIVING IN DAVID

The following data is from Expatistan, a crowdsourced database of prices and cost of living around the world. In our experience, the data tends to underestimate cost of living, so take the following as the minimum you might need to live here.

You’ll need a minimum of $1092 USD/month to live in David, Panama

FINAL THOUGHTS

A place to spend the night on your way to or from Bocas. No more and no less, really. The town is livable but boring. There are great beaches nearby .

Unless you’re looking for a moderately safe and functional city to settle down in for awhile and have a quiet life, I wouldn’t recommend going too far out of your way to visit David, Panama.

Things to do in David Panama

David is the capital of the Chiriqui province, the heart of the west and the third largest city in the country. However, despite its size, there is not much to see in David. That is why tourists use the city as a strategic place to stay and move around, which is what is really interesting. What are the best places to see in David?

1. miguel de cervantes park.

As we have already mentioned, David is the hottest city in the country, so this park is a perfect option to take refuge in the shade and enjoy the peace and tranquility there.

The park was built by the local government in 2006, and today it is one of the main tourist attractions in David. It is a common meeting place for the locals as there are stands selling ice cream, coconut juice and other cold beverages in the park.

2. Barrio Bolivar, the historic center of David

The historic center of David is located in the Bolivar neighborhood, where you still can find some buildings of the colonial era. It is the most charming part of the whole city and it takes just 20 minutes to visit as it is formed by two streets: calle Noreste y la Avenida 8 Este (Northeast Street and Avenue 8 East).

In this area you will find many stores and restaurants, as well as some museums such as the Museum of History and Art of José de Obaldía.

3. José de Obaldía Museum of History and Art

Before entering the museum, what is most striking is the facade of the colonial-style building that once belonged to the founder of the province of Chiriqui, Jose de Obaldia. Inside the museum, which takes just 15 minutes to visit, you’ll find different knick-knacks and various objects from the colonial era.

The museum’s visiting hours are from Thursday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the entrance fee is $1.

4. David’s New Artisan Center

In David, on the Boquete road, we find a shopping center specializing in local crafts where we can appreciate their works and make our souvenir purchases. It is undoubtedly a very curious place to learn about the culture of the country and especially its art. The center is open every day from 10:00h to 20:00h.

Things to do around David

1. boquete, another town to visit in chiriqui.

A 45-minute drive from David lies Boquete, another important city in the region. The city is completely surrounded by nature that does not go unnoticed, nor do the aromas of coffee, fruits and flowers that invade the streets. The main economic activity in the area is the cultivation of coffee, flowers and fruits, in addition to the indigenous people’s crafts.

There are several options to get to Boquete from David. By private car and cab it takes 45 minutes, and if you take a cab, the price is 15€. A cheaper option is the bus, which costs only 1/2€ and takes 1 hour.

2. Baru Volcano National Park

The Baru Volcano National Park is one of the most incredible natural corners of the country because there you will find the Baru volcano, the highest volcano in Panama. The surroundings of the volcano are famous for its great biodiversity. There you can observe exotic birds and enjoy a landscape that will leave you speechless.

There are hiking trails in the area around the volcano, and if you want to climb, you will have to pay an entrance fee of $ 5 in addition to the guide. The route to the summit takes 6h and requires a certain amount of fitness.

3. Coiba National Marine Park

The Coiba National Marine Park, besides being one of the largest marine parks in the world, is one of the most visited places in the country for its incredible landscapes formed by tropical rainforests, islands and white sand beaches and crystal clear waters where colorful coral reefs hide.

In the Gulf of Chiriqui you can also do whale watching such as dolphins, whales and even orcas. It is a fantastic place to practice water sports, diving or relaxing on the beaches.

What to see in 1 day in David?

Although the historic center of the city is really beautiful, the truth is that all the places of interest in David can be covered in a morning. However, the city, along with Boquete, is the perfect place to stay to visit the natural surroundings in the Chiriqui region. We recommend to spend several days there since with the Coiba National Marine Park and the Baru Volcano National Park you will have plenty of entertainment.

What is clear is that David is a key point to move around the area, especially if you do not have private transport. And the provincial capital is very well connected by public transport.

Where and what to eat in David?

Chiriqui, the region where the city of David is located has a long tradition of farmers, ranchers and fishermen. Planning a Trip in David

Getting There & Departing

By Plane -- The Aeropuerto Enrique Malek (DAV) is about 4.8km (3 miles) from the city center and is serviced by Air Panama (tel. 316-9000; www.flyairpanama.com), with flights to and from Panama City, Bocas del Toro, and even San José, Costa Rica. There are three daily round-trip flights from Panama City Monday through Friday, and two daily flights on Saturday and Sunday; the cost is about $200 (£100) roundtrip including taxes. There are flights from Bocas del Toro to David on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:35am, with return flights at 1pm. Flights from San José are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 10am, with the return trip from David leaving at 9:30am.

Aeroperlas (tel. 315-7500; www.aeroperlas.com) has three daily flights from Panama City to David from Monday to Saturday, and two flights on Sunday; the cost is $206 (£103) round trip including taxes. From Bocas del Toro, there is one flight per day from Monday to Friday, leaving Bocas del Toro at 8:25am, and returning from David at 9am.

There is an ATP visitor center booth at the airport (no phone; daily 7am-3pm), manned by a helpful and friendly representative who has a limited number of brochures and maps. A taxi into town costs $2 (£1) per person.

By Bus -- The Terminal de Transportes is located on Avenida Estudiante. Daily service to and from Panama City is offered by the bus line Terminal David-Panama (tel. 774-2974 or 775-7074), with regular service leaving every hour daily from 6am to 8pm, and express service leaving daily at 10:45pm, midnight, and 3am. Padafront (tel. 775-8913 ) has regular bus service at 7:30am, 8:45am, 9:45am, 11am, 12:45am, 2pm, 3:15pm, 6pm, and 7:45pm; express buses leave at 10:45pm and midnight. Both companies charge $13 (£6.50) for regular service (7 hr.), and $15 (£7.50) for express service (5 1/2 hr.). Note that bus drivers on this route like to turn the A/C on full blast, so be sure to bring a sweater to stay warm.

Volcán-Cerro Punta-Guadalupe buses from David leave every 35 minutes from 5am to 7pm ($2-$3/£1-1.50); and buses to Boquete leave every 15 minutes from 4:15am to 9pm ($1.45/£75p). Buses to Costa Rica via the Paso Canoa border are available from Panaline (tel. 314-6383 ) and Tica Bus (tel. 314-6385 ); both companies charge the same price from David as from Panama City ($25/£13 one-way); they leave David for Costa Rica around 5:30pm daily. Note: Travelers to and from Costa Rica will need to show proof of onward travel. If you do not posses such proof, you will be required to buy a round-trip ticket.

By Car -- David is reached from Panama City via the Interamericana Highway (Pan-American Highway), which skirts the edge of town and continues on to the Paso Canoa border with Costa Rica. Personally, I find renting a car to be the best option, because it allows you to explore the Boquete/Cerro Punta region.

Getting Around

By Taxi -- Taxis are plentiful in David. The fare for a taxi from the airport to the city center is $2(£1) per person; to Boquete it is $25 (£13); to Volcán it is $40 (£20); and to Guadalupe it is $50 (£25). Around town, fares cost $1 to $2 (50p-£1).

By Car -- Rental vehicles are available at the David airport, including Alamo (tel. 236-5777; www.alamopanama.com), Budget (tel. 263-8777; www.budgetpanama.com), Hertz (tel. 721-3345; www.hertz.com), National (tel. 721-0974; www.nationalpanama.com), and Thrifty (tel. 721-2477; www.thrifty.com). If you'll be exploring the surrounding Chiriqui Highlands, I recommend you get a 4WD for difficult, unpaved road if you'll be exploring off the beaten track.

You'll find banks with ATMs on the streets around the plaza; Banco Nacional is at Calle B Norte and Avenida 3 Este/Bolívar on the plaza; Global Bank is at Calle A Norte and Avenida 1 Este; and HSBC is at Avenida 1era Oeste and Calle D Norte. Cybercafes are plentiful in David, and all hotels offer Internet service to their customers. Also try American Copy at Calle Este Norte and Avenida 1 Este; or Naveg@net at Avenida 2 Este and Calle A Norte. There are two excellent hospitals here, the Mae Lewis Hospital (tel. 775-4159) and the Hospital Chiriquí (tel. 774-0128). For the police, dial tel. 771-4231. The post office can be found 1 block northeast of the plaza on Avenida 4 Este and Calle C Norte, and is open Monday through Saturday from 7am to 5:30pm.

There is an ATP visitor center at Avenida Central and Calle B Norte (tel. 775-4120; Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm), but it is largely useless except for maps, which are in short supply. The staff here oddly does not provide the public with much tourist information, nor does it seem to know David well enough to give recommendations.

The Feria Internacional de San José de David

The Feria Internacional de San José de David is the largest commercial, industrial, agricultural, ranching, and folkloric festival in Panama, taking place every year around the middle of March. The weeklong event draws 300,000 people, most of whom come to visit the booths of international companies and catch up on the newest technology, but folklore, culture, and handicrafts play a large role, delighting tourists, too. Check the website www.feriadedavid.com for exact dates.
