They're getting old... but they weren't bad at all. I just hope this is their last tour. Starship Trooper was a good way to go out, and tbh Anderson Rabin and Wakeman is more yes than they are at this point member-wise... anyway, good concert, and I'd catch them if I were you just cuz I think this is it for them.

The concert was excellent. The band line-up performed excellently, with Geoff stepping in brilliantly for Chris Squire, and Jon Davison has an excellent voice as well, keeps up the quality of Yes' amazing music.

I wish I could go back and time and re-live the concert!! This is a definite must-see!! I can't wait till next time!!

Great band with great songs and a great history - it was great to see them purely for that reason. However, when I saw them at Oxford this year they seemed really under-rehearsed. I don't know if they had sound issues on stage but the drummer was in his own tempo for a lot of it. Even my Dad noticed and he's not musical!

Yes announce Classic Tales Of Yes US tour dates

UK prog legends Yes will tour the US from September to November 2023

Yes

UK prog legends  Yes  have announced US tour dates for their Classic Tales Of Yes tour for September to November 2023.

Following the band's sold out 2022 US tour, the band return for a US run that kicks off in Bethlehem's Wind Creek Event Center on September 21 and runs all the qy through to Riverside's Fox Performing Arts Center on November 4.

“We’re putting together a great setlist covering the length and breadth of Yes’ career," enthuses guitarist Steve Howe.

“As always, we are committed to pushing new boundaries and are very excited to be performing another chapter in the rich legacy of the band,” adds keyboard player Geoff Downes.

Yes will be supported by their well now album cover designer Roger Dean on all dates, who will be creating a live presentation of his art alongside having his art gallery on tour.

Yes released their 23rd studio album, Mirror To The Sky , earlier this year.

YES Announces 'Classic Tales Of Yes' Fall 2023 U.S. Tour

Following last year's sold-out U.S. tour, YES , who are Steve Howe (guitars, vocals), Geoff Downes (keyboards), Jon Davison (vocals, acoustic guitar), Billy Sherwood (bass guitar, vocals) and Jay Schellen (drums),have today (July 17) announced their "Classic Tales Of Yes" tour in the U.S. starting September 24 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and ending November 4 in Riverside, California. Look for the tour — which is the latest presentation of their ongoing concert series illuminating their classic music — to include many iconic tracks from the influential and pioneering Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees' catalog covering 50-plus years as well as music from their acclaimed new album "Mirror To The Sky" (released May 19 on InsideOut Music / Sony Music ).

Tickets for the tour will go on sale July 21. Go to www.yesworld.com/live for ticketing information.

Looking forward to the "Classic Tales Of Yes" tour, Howe said: "We're putting together a great setlist covering the length and breadth of YES 's career."

Downes added: "As always, we are committed to pushing new boundaries and are very excited to be performing another chapter in the rich legacy of the band."

The evening will begin with an on-site presentation by world-renowned English artist and designer Roger Dean , whose masterful artwork of striking otherworldly landscapes has graced classic album covers and posters, most prominently by YES and ASIA . Every show will feature a Roger Dean gallery in the venue's reception/foyer area. His work — which also appears on the cover of "Mirror To The Sky" — has sold more than one hundred million copies worldwide.

"Mirror To The Sky" features not one, but four tracks clocking in at over eight minutes, with the sweeping and cinematic title track coming in just shy of fourteen minutes. What's more, the tracks, like YES 's best, take the listener on a wide dynamically ranging journey of soundscapes which also showcase Steve Howe 's dazzling guitars, Jon Davison 's angelic, crystalline vocals, Billy Sherwood 's deftly dancing bass, keyboard wizard Geoff Downes 's impeccable sounds, exquisite melodies and fills, and Jay Schellen 's masterfully controlled explosions, on drums. Jay Schellen , who has been touring with the band since 2016 as an additional drummer, was hand-picked to step into his mentor and friend Alan White role when White sadly passed away in 2022.

Ultimate Classic Rock raved that " 'Mirror In The Sky' breezes from one musical highlight to the next so deftly that you're wanting more." (May 17). Glide Magazine observed that "Mirror To The Sky" succeeds at proving the idea that YES music will carry on long after the original members pass in a very special way. As the producer of this twenty-third studio album, [ Steve ] Howe has stepped in and helped create a soundscape in the vein of their classic material." (May 18). Guitar World noted that "There's a lot of classic prog keyboard and guitar interplay across 'Cut From The Stars' , but there's lovely stuff from about 4.30 where Steve Howe and Geoff Downes exchange melodic pot shots." (March 16).

Formed in 1968 by Jon Anderson and the late, and much-missed, Chris Squire , YES have been one of the most innovative, influential and best-loved bands in Rock music history. Their 1970s albums “ The Yes Album ,” “ Fragile ,” “ Close To The Edge ,” “ Yessongs ” (a triple live album set), “ Tales From Topographic Oceans ,” “ Relayer ” and “ Going For The One ” were ground-breaking in musical style and content. Their music also became synonymous with artist Roger Dean whose distinctive YES logo design and artwork adorned the lavish gatefold presentation sleeves of many YES albums.

With sales of over 50 million records, the Grammy-award winning YES were inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017 where they performed “ Roundabout ” from the album “ Fragile ” and the FM radio-friendly “ Owner Of A Lonely Heart ” from the 1985 album “ 90125 .”

YES released their 22nd studio album in 2021, “ The Quest ,” produced by Steve Howe and which went to No. 1 in the UK Rock Albums Chart and entered the Official UK Album Chart at No. 20.

In 2022 came the sad news that drummer Alan White , ever-present in the YES line-up for 50 years, had passed away. The news came shortly before the band embarked on their classic, genre-defining album “ Close To The Edge 50th Anniversary Tour ” which they dedicated to Alan .

In February 2023, ahead of the news of the new studio album “ Mirror To The Sky ,” YES confirmed Jay Schellen as the new permanent drummer with YES , hand-picked to step into his mentor and friend Alan White ‘s role. “ I had done the 2016 tour on my own for Alan, ” says Jay . “ From late 2017 onwards, we had a beautiful partnership. I learned and discovered so much about Alan’s style. His passion and creativity was phenomenal. The new album has Alan’s presence all over it. It is inside of us. So, this is still, in my heart, Alan just being present and with us, and with me, in a big way. “

“ Mirror To The Sky ,” YES ‘ 23rd studio album, was released on 19 May 2023 to universally positive reviews in the music press. “ These artists manage to come up with a fresh and modern album, without losing their distinctive traits that have characterised their style over the years ,” stated Progressive Rock Journal .

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Power Rankings: Valspar Championship

Power Rankings

Change Text Size

If you already haven’t taken the time to confirm, the answer is yes. Someone other than Scottie Scheffler will win the Valspar Championship this week. No doubt that there was at least one entrant in the field who was curious that he wasn’t in it after the world’s top-ranked talent won consecutive tournaments.

A larger grouping than originally was planned is assembling on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. For the explanation, details of the host course and more, continue reading below the ranking of those projected to contend.

As of Monday afternoon, the field stands at 155 but alternates will not be called unless it drops below 144. If necessary to achieve the same objective, this provision also will apply to next week’s Texas Children’s Houston Open and the Valero Texas Open the week after that.

The Copperhead Course is a par 71 with five par 3s and a customary set of four par 5s. The anchor leg of the Florida Swing stood as the hardest of the series in relation to par a year ago when the field averaged 71.935. That also easily was highest among all par 71s throughout the 2022-23 season. The challenge isn’t unusual, though. That it averaged below par a few weeks later in the spring of 2021 and in its more familiar slot in March of 2022 was a surprise.

No matter what, the parkland track has teeth, so all red numbers will have felt well-earned. Although Copperhead can stretch to 7,340 yards, ball-striking is at a premium because overseeded rough is allowed to grow to 3½ inches and overseeded Bermudagrass greens average 5,800 square feet. The putting surfaces also are allowed to reach 12½ feet on the Stimpmeter.

Then there’s the Snake Pit that closes the inward half. Nos. 16, 17 and 18 collaborate for a par-4-3-4 test that averaged +0.593 strokes to par last year. A proper goal for the wannabe winner will be to arrive at it with the lead so as to swing over it unscathed to paydirt. Taylor Moore played it in bogey-free, 1-under for the week, with his only birdie coming on the par-4 16th in the finale.

A strong start also could be imperative. Favorable conditions with manageable breezes are expected for the opening round. That changes considerably as the threat for rain and storms encroach by Friday when winds could gust in excess of 30 mph for a few hours. It’ll calm relatively on the weekend. Daytime temperatures will climb into the 70s.

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Pack on PDA While Swimming In the Bahamas

Taylor swift and travis kelce enjoy lunch date at nobu malibu, taylor swift & travis kelce keeping it breezy by the beach ... lunch date in malibu, 20.1k 3/24/2024 9:49 pm pt.

Taylor Swift is finally ready to have her picture taken in LA — and yes … Travis Kelce was right by her side for the high-profile photo-op.

The couple hit up one of the most frequented hot spots in town Sunday by dropping in on Nobu Malibu — and in broad daylight, no less … so you know they were ready to be snapped by paps, and they 100% were.

This was a lunch outing, and as you can see … TK and Tay Tay had a balcony seat, facing the ocean.

On their way out, Trav and Taylor were holding hands — and aside from some sunglasses covering T-Swift’s eyes … she was out there in all her pop star glory.

Quite the opposite vibe from what we’ve seen with her of late … namely, umbrellas and car curtains, trying to obscure a clear shot.

This is the first we’ve seen of Taylor in LA in a good long while — of course, we’ve seen her out and about in Australia and Singapore for her concerts.

But, since she’s returned to the States — post- Super Bowl — she’s been relatively low-key. Same for Travis … although, he doesn’t seem as bashful as she is in front SoCal cameras.

Their appearance here at Nobu follows what seems to have been a nice little getaway for the two of them. Remember … there were signs they were down in the Bahamas recently, and Travis himself popped up in Cleveland the other day.

Now, they’re back on the West Coast … with nothing but time on their hands. He doesn’t have to start playing football again until the summer — and Taylor isn’t going back to work until May.

In the meantime, they’re chowing down on overpriced sushi and taking in the sunshine.

Have fun, you two!

Peter Malnati, PGA Tour, Valspar Championship

With his yellow golf ball and bucket hat, Peter Malnati began the day two strokes behind 54-hole leader Keith Mitchell at the Valspar Championship .

His day ended in tears, as Malnati won for the first time on the the PGA Tour since 2015. The win gives him much-needed security on the tour, and he will also receive an invitation to Augusta National for the first time.

Malnati, a current PGA Tour Policy Board member, carded a 4-under 68 on Sunday to finish at 12-under for the championship, two shots ahead of Cameron Young.

“That moment of winning a tournament and having your family come out on the green and the big hugs and all that, that’s something that I’ve seen other families have, and that has been my dream,” Malnati said after the round.

“There’s been a lot of stretches of golf in the last nine years when I wondered if I would ever have that experience. I’m at peace with who I am and the way I live and the work that I put into this. If I had never had the moment I had today, I would have been completely fine. But, man, was that special. That was so special. It felt amazing.”

Currently ranked as the 184th player in the Official World Golf Rankings, Malnati has never been higher than 143rd in his career. That will change after this week’s win, however.

As such, during his tenure on the board, Malnati has always advocated for the journeyman. He has also freely expressed his opinions about the PGA Tour, making headlines for whether or not LIV Golfers will receive equity as opposed to his play.

His final round on Sunday did not start spectacularly. He opened with three pars, then missed a five-footer for par at the par-3 4th. At that juncture, it looked as if his chances of winning diminished, but anything can happen on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook—widely regarded as one of the more challenging and unpredictable courses on the PGA Tour.

Two holes later, at the par-4 6th, Malnati’s chances at victory improved. He drained a 15-footer for birdie, and suddenly, he was back in the mix at 8-under.

With Mitchell stumbling in front of him, the tournament was anyone’s for the taking. But Malnati gave himself the best chance to win thanks to three straight birdies on the 10th, 11th, and 12th holes.

Like that, Malnati sat at 11-under and in the solo lead after his 15-foot birdie putt found the bottom of the cup at 12.

Minutes later, Young tied Malnati at 11-under, and it looked as if these two were destined for an iconic finish in Florida.

“I would say, from about the 13th tee and in, I didn’t really feel like myself over any shot,” Malnati said.

“I was really amped up. I was in a state of heightened energy. So I just had to keep going through my process, and I had done enough repetitions that I could go through the process properly, and for the most part, I was able to execute.”

Then, on the par-4 16th, the most challenging hole on the course, Malnati hit his second shot, which he called “nervy,” a little over the green. His ball nestled in a gnarly lie, and a bogey loomed.

But often, you need a lucky bounce or a good break to win golf tournaments.

Malnati, who has not received many throughout his PGA Tour career, got a significant break on the 16th green. His ball came to rest near a sprinkler head, and a rules official granted Malnati relief.

"I feel this is a great break." Here is how Peter Malnati went from a nasty lie to getting free relief and saving par on the 16th hole Sunday at the Valspar Championship: pic.twitter.com/1Q3uTIn5Xy — Golf Central (@GolfCentral) March 24, 2024

Thus, Malnati got a free drop, and with it, a much-improved lie. He calmly got up and down to remain at 11-under.

Meanwhile, Young hit a poor tee shot ahead of him on the 18th, which led to a bogey.

As such, Malnati sensed an opportunity on the 17th tee and took full advantage of it.

“I remember telling my caddie I needed to make a 2—I needed to hit it 208. And 208’s a pretty big 5-iron for me, but in the situation I was in, it was just a very normal 5-iron,” Malnati said of his thought process on 17.

“So I thought, all right, it’s a perfect 5-iron, so I don’t have to do anything special with it. Start it on the TV tower, and let the wind move it over to the middle of the green. The wind moved it more than I thought. I actually executed it how I wanted to, and the wind moved it all the way to the hole and even a pinch left of it.

“But it was really fun in that moment to just step up, not overthink it, just go. It’s a full 5-iron at the TV tower. And to watch that ball fly was a really cool feeling. To have it like tracking the hole there, that was really nice.”

He stuck his tee shot to six feet, made the putt, and held a two-shot lead walking to the 18th hole.

“I was nervous over the putt too,” Malnati added. “But two balls out on the left, and it was pretty quick, so just tap it in, as Happy Gilmore would say.”

He made a stress-free par on the last, leading to many happy tears.

“This win is for all the host organizations, all the title sponsors, all the communities that kind of wonder what the meaning of their event is,” Malnati added.

“To have entertainment come to your community, fulfill dreams for people like me, and give the community something to be excited about in a way that gives back and enriches the community where we play.”
