Disney cruise kids clubs: What to know about the Oceaneer Club

Erica Silverstein

Disney cruise kids clubs are some of the best in the cruise industry. Each of Disney Cruise Line 's ships offer huge play spaces for kids, nurseries for babies and hip hangouts for teens and tweens. Plus, the line can lean into all of the Disney-owned properties and brands to enhance its youth activities; there's theming around Mickey and friends, princesses and other Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel movie characters and plotlines.

What are the Disney cruise kids clubs?

disney cruise oceaneer club

Disney Cruise Line has one of the best kids' programs at sea, with age-appropriate hangout and play spaces for babies through older teens.

The Disney cruise kids clubs start with the It's a Small World Nursery for babies and toddlers. Its biggest kids clubs are the Oceaneer Club and Lab, connected spaces for preschool to elementary school age kids. Tweens and teens also have their own lounge spaces, called Edge and Vibe, respectively.

Disney Wish is the first ship in the fleet to offer a dedicated space for the oldest kids. The Hideaway is the Disney cruise kids club for late high school and college-age young adults.

What are the age groups for kids clubs on Disney cruises?

disney cruise oceaneer club

The Disney cruise kids club ages affiliated with each space are as follows:

  • It's a Small World Nursery: 6 months to 3 years old
  • Oceaneer Club and Lab: 3 to 10 years old and fully toilet trained
  • Edge: 11 to 14 years old
  • Vibe: 14 to 17 years old
  • The Hideaway: 18 to 20 years old

Note for sailings departing prior to December 21, 2023, the Oceaneer Club is accessible to kids up to age 12, giving middle schoolers the choice between the club and Edge. Based on guest feedback, Disney has made a change to bump 11- and 12-year-olds to Edge, beginning with cruises departing December 21 or after.

Disney Cruise Line makes sure their age group policies fit an array of preferences. You'll notice some overlap in the Disney cruise kids club ages. That's because Disney understands that siblings or travel companions of different ages might want to go to the kids clubs together; it also recognizes that kids at the ends of the age ranges have different maturity levels and interests.

For example, 14-year-olds can choose if they prefer to hang out with younger middle schoolers or older teens, depending on where they feel comfortable. A young 3-year-old might feel more comfortable in the smaller nursery than in the large, choose-your-own-adventure Oceaneer Club.

In addition, parents can sign a permission form allowing mature 10-year-olds to go to Edge and 13-year-olds to go to the teen club Vibe on a Disney cruise. This is especially useful if younger kids want to be in the same group with older friends or family.

How does the kids club on a Disney cruise work?

Parents or other responsible adults should register their kids and teens for the Disney cruise kids club either online pre-cruise or on embarkation day once on board. Kids will receive a wristband (or a special coded cruise card) that enables them to sign in and out of the clubs.

Special activities in each of the clubs will be listed in the daily schedule on the Disney cruise Navigator app. Kids can also choose to participate in the always-available activities at the clubs instead. In the connected Oceaneer Club and Lab, for example, multiple activities will be happening at once, and kids can choose what interests them. Youth counselors will assist the littlest cruisers in finding a suitable activity. Reservations are not necessary.

Parents must sign their children in and out of the Disney kids club until they're 8 years old. Parents can choose to give older kids permission to sign themselves in and out. Tweens and teens can come and go from Edge and Vibe as they please.

Children with special needs are allowed at the youth activities and kids clubs. However, they must be toilet trained and able to participate in the activities and interact with other kids in the clubs without special assistance.

What activities are available for kids in the Disney Oceaneer Club and Lab?

disney cruise oceaneer club

On ships with a separate Oceaneer Club and Lab, the Club activities will skew a bit younger and the Lab activities a bit older. Disney Wish and Disney Treasure feature just the Oceaneer Club for all activities. Counselors also invite 3- and 4-year-olds to attend special guided activities.

Activities in the Oceaneer Club might include arts and crafts at Tinkerbell's Pixie Hollow, playtime in Andy's Room with Toy Story-themed play structures or a Star Wars-themed flight simulator game in the Millennium Falcon area. Kids can meet characters, listen to stories, dress up and watch Disney movies. Signature activities include Jedi and Lion Guard training, Woody's roundup with games and stories and Mickey's Roadster Races.

The nautical-themed Oceaneer Lab might include the Animator's Studio for crafts, a media room for movies and video games and the Wheelhouse for interactive video games. Some ships have Magic PlayFloors where you work up a sweat playing virtual games. Fan favorites include carving race cars out of soap in the Piston Cup Challenge, making a mess with Super Sloppy Science and baking chocolate chip cookies.

On Pirate Night, expect pirate-themed activities, perhaps with an appearance from Captain Hook.

What activities are available for tweens and teens in Edge and Vibe on a Disney cruise?

disney cruise oceaneer club

Edge is the tween club, and it offers a mix of structured activities that 11- to 14-year-olds would enjoy, plus time for board games, video games and crafts. The cool hangout space is tricked out with giant TVs, gaming consoles, comfy seating, and tables and chairs that can be commandeered for various activities.

On Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, it's in the ship's forward faux funnel. On Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, the room is designed to look like an old ship's boiler room. On Disney Wish, the space is inspired by a New York City loft, complete with a faux grass picnic area.

Scheduled events might include karaoke, improv class, trivia games, foosball or video game challenges, crafts, scavenger hunts, and parties with photo booths and dancing.

The teen club Vibe is even more laid-back with spaces for teens to chill out. They also offer group activities led by cool counselors. Of course, kids can lounge about and chat with new friends, play video games and watch movies, or sunbathe on ships where Vibe has its own outdoor sun deck.

Scheduled activities might include movie making, a shipwide game of Gotcha, karaoke competitions, talent shows and group games.

On Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, Vibe has a secret entrance off the ship's promenade deck, a high-tech media room, a central pit for group gatherings, and a sun deck with a hot tub and plunge pool. On Disney Wonder and Disney Magic, the teens get the faux funnel space with an industrial vibe and multiple TVs for gaming and movies. On Disney Wish, Vibe is inspired by an artist's loft in Paris, with floor-to-ceiling windows.

That sounds cool. Can adults go into the kids club on Disney cruises?

disney cruise oceaneer club

Yes, but not when drop-off kid programming is going on.

Disney Cruise Line ships schedule open houses in the different kids and teens clubs each day. During this time, anyone — adult or kid — can come and try out the kids club features. That means adults can fly the Millennium Falcon or play video games, toddlers can crawl around Andy's room with their caregivers and younger kids can check out the hip teen spaces.

Usually, when the Disney Oceaneer Club or Lab is having an open house, there will be drop-off programming in the other space.

Additionally, Disney Wish is the first ship to have a hangout for young adults ages 18 to 20. Newly minted adults can hang out in The Hideaway, which features a dance floor and DJ booth, as well as lounge space.

How do I use the It's a Small World Nursery on a Disney cruise?

disney cruise oceaneer club

Families with children ages 6 months to 3 years can drop off their children for highly supervised playtime at the It's a Small World Nursery. Unlike the other kids clubs on board, the nursery is not free. Families will pay $9 per child, per hour ($8 for each additional child in the same family).

The nursery is also not a drop-in-at-will space. Parents must sign up for hour-long slots in advance. You can book up to 10 hours per child before your cruise and add or adjust hours once on board. The advice is to prebook the most important spots, such as when the adults have booked a special meal, spa treatment or shore excursion.

At the nursery, kids can play with age-appropriate toys, watch movies and cartoons, and listen to stories. Cribs are available for nap time in a quiet room separate from the playroom.

Parents and caregivers dropping off their children may send them with baby food and formula or milk; diapers, wipes and pull-ups; a change of clothes; blanket and/or pacifier.

Children with special needs are welcome at the nursery.

What time do the kids clubs open on Disney Cruises?

disney cruise oceaneer club

Typically, the kids clubs open at 9 a.m. (or whenever the ship arrives in port) and close at midnight. Edge and Vibe's open hours vary but often run from 10 a.m. until 1 a.m.

Are Disney cruise kids clubs free? How much does Disney cruise daycare cost?

Disney cruise kids clubs are free to use throughout the day and evening. Unlike other other cruise lines, the late-night open hours do not incur a fee.

The exception is the It's a Small World Nursery, which charges by the hour. The fee is $9 per child per hour ($8 for each additional child within the same family). You can cancel up to four hours before your reservation time with no penalty. If you cancel after that time, you'll have to pay half the fee. No-shows must pay the total amount.

What else does Disney Cruise Line offer families with children?

disney cruise oceaneer club

Kid-friendly activities do not just take place in the Disney cruise kids clubs. Disney Cruise Line ships offer a huge array of events and attractions for young cruisers.

All ships have pools, splash areas and waterslides or rides, as well as movies both on the pool deck and in a dedicated theater. Activities for the whole family take place in the D Lounge and might include games shows, trivia, crafts and karaoke.

Disney's Broadway-style shows and evening deck parties are designed with kids in mind. Kids can meet and pose with photos with their favorite characters and princesses, or join them for dance parties. For a fee, children can get princess and pirate makeovers in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or attend a tea party with princess hostesses.

Bottom line: Disney cruise kids club

Whether your kids are 6 months, 6 years or 16 years, they will find something to love about the kids clubs on Disney Cruise Line ships. Your child might beg to stay in the Disney cruise kids clubs all day or just attend for specific activities. Still, your entire family will always find a ton of activities to keep them busy and happy from sunrise to bedtime on a Disney cruise vacation.

The Disney Cruise Kids Club really is an amazing facility for all ages from 6 months to age 17.

There are different spaces on all of the Disney Cruise Ships for children of all ages.

I have sailed on many Disney Cruises with kids of all ages for over a decade. And they have all had an amazing time in the kid’s clubs.

Let’s explore what is available for children in the kid’s clubs on a Disney Cruise.

Note that there have been some recent changes to the age groups for each of the kids clubs and a change of policy about flexibility so make sure you read on to see the new rules .

Overview of Disney Cruise Line’s Kids Club

Did you know that Disney is one of the very few cruise lines that have a facility to care for children under the age of 3?

One of the biggest reasons why Disney Cruise Line is the top-rated cruise line for families is because of the different kids clubs that they offer on all the ships in the fleet.

Apart from the “it’s a small world” nursery!, Disney Cruise kids clubs do not require reservations and are complimentary for guests.

The Disney Cruise Line provides structured youth activities and programs to meet the needs of both children and families. They are categorized by specific age groups and offer tailored spaces for each group.

Age-Specific Kids Clubs

All youth programs are led by specially trained Disney counselors to create highly immersive and magical clubs.

They facilitate age-appropriate fun and engaging activities in all of the clubs throughout your cruise vacation. Let’s dive into a complete list of Disney Cruise kids’ clubs!

How Long Can Kids Stay at Kids Club on a Disney Cruise?

Your children can stay as long as you want them to at the Kid’s Clubs. There is no limit on the time they can spend there.

If the kid’s clubs are open and your child is happy to be there – they can be there all day if they want to. And they may very well want to.

How Does the Disney Kids Club Work on a Cruise?

There are 5 different Kids Clubs on each Disney Ship :

  • It’s A Small World Nursery 6 months to 3 years – this is the only one with a fee
  • Oceaneer Club ages 3 to 10
  • Oceaneer Lab ages 3 to 10
  • Edge ages 11 to 14
  • Vibe ages 14 to 17

Note that effective on sailings that depart on or after December 21, 2023 the age range in Disney’ Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab changes from 3 to 12 to 3 to 10. With no exceptions.

During youth activities Open House times, guests of all ages are permitted in youth activity spaces, including Disney’s Oceaneer Club, Disney’s Oceaneer Lab, Edge and Vibe.

Guests with children 11 and 12 years old no longer need to complete youth activities registration as part of Online Check-in for these children.

This change is also applicable to Scuttle’s Cove which is the kids club for the younger ones at Castaway Cay. This has also changed from 3 to 12 years of age to 3 to 10 years of age .

It’s A Small World Nursery

“ It’s a small world ” nursery! is available on all of the Disney Cruise ships for children aged from 6 months to 3 years old.

It is the only childcare center on the Disney ships which is not provided free of charge, and you have to book ahead.

Even if you don’t use the Small World Nursery for many hours on your Disney Cruise, it can be great to get a break so you can take advantage of all that a Disney Cruise has for Adults .

The cast members provide nothing short of quality care and unmatched convenience.

While the programs at “it’s a small world” nursery! will vary depending on your child’s mood, activities like story time, movie time, and arts and crafts projects will keep them smiling and engaged. The nursery consists of three distinct areas:

  • Acclimation zone designed to help your little ones adjust to their new environment
  • Main play area that features a 3D facade of the “it’s a small world” attraction that is filled with interactive wonders
  • A separate quiet room for infants and toddlers to take naps.

disneycruiseitsasmallworldnursery

It’s a Small World Nursery that charges $4.50 for each half-hour, and you must book for at least one hour. Therefore, the minimum charge is $9 for the first child.

There is a discount for children who are in the same family as they are only charged $4 per hour. So the minimum charge is $8 per hour for the second child.

Advance reservations are required and can be made online:

  • Up to 120 days ahead for Concierge and Platinum Castaway Club Guests
  • Up to 105 days ahead for Gold Castaway Club Guests
  • Up to 90 days ahead for Silver Castaway Club Guests
  • Up to 75 days ahead for all other Guests

If you don’t make reservations online you can go to the Nursery to see if there is any additional time available.

Numbers are very strictly controlled as there needs to be the correct amount of Cast Members to care for the babies and infants.

If you need to cancel a reservation make sure that you do that at least 4 hours ahead of time or you will pay for all of the sessions that you have booked.

Is Food Provided in the It’s A Small World Nursery?

Juice and crackers are available for snacks for your child.

Lunch and dinner is no longer provided as it used to be prior to the shutdown.

Milk is not provided so you need to bring your own formula and bottles. If you have baby food you can bring this as well.

What Else Will My Child Need for the Nursery on a Disney Cruise?

babiesondisneycruise

You will need to provide diapers, wipes, and pull-ups for your child if they are not potty trained.

Pack a bag that is clearly labeled for your child with extra items such as a change of clothing, a special blanket, a pacifier, or perhaps a favorite toy.

Make sure that you label items because things do sometimes get lost.

If you think that your child may be anxious or not settle well in the Nursery, it can also be a good idea to go to the open house which is held every day.

This can help your child get used to the new environment and the counselors.

Make sure that you download the Navigator’s App as the Counsellors will use this to contact you if you need to pick up your child early.

Counselors can’t give any medication to your child, but there is a trained First Aid Cast Member in the Nursery at all times.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club

disneyoceaneerclub

Children aged between 3 and 12 have a choice between the Oceaneer Club and the Oceaneer Lab. On all of the Disney ships, the Oceaneers Club and Lab are on Deck 5 mid-ship.

The Oceaneer Club is themed for Disney fantasy and imagination, while the Oceaneer Lab is about learning while having fun.

They are separate spaces but are connected by a closed corridor. Your child can move from one space to the other via this corridor. If they need help, the Counsellor will accompany them!

From character-driven performances and special story-telling sessions to larger-than-life play areas and dress-up opportunities, your kids will be delighted to step into a world inhabited by some of their favorite characters.

The Oceaneer Club-themed play spaces include:

  • Andy’s Room
  • Disney Infinity Game Room
  • Pixie Hollow
  • Star Wars: Millennium Falcon
  • Star Wars: Command Post
  • Star Wars: Cargo Bay
  • Marvel Super Hero Academy
  • Disney Junior
  • Mickey and Minnie Captain’s Deck
  • Frozen Adventures
  • Fairytale Hall.

They also provide one-of-a-kind guided group activities to add more enchantment and fantasy:

  • Disney’s Once Upon a Time
  • Puzzle Playtime with Mickey and Friends
  • Jedi Training: Experience the Force
  • Woody’s Round Up
  • Doctor Strange: Defy the Dark Dimension
  • Thor Becoming Worthy
  • Mickey and the Roadster Racers
  • Disney Royal Academy

  • Walt Disney Imagineering Lab.

Disney Oceaneer’s Lab

You will probably find that your children want to spend every possible moment in the Kids Clubs! There are lots of organized activities, but if your children want to be independent that is fine too.

You can see the daily schedule for the day on the Navigator so you can plan if your child wants to do a particular activity.

The only times that you can spend time in the Oceaneers Clubs as a parent is during Open House. Look at your Navigators for when these times are scheduled.

disney cruise oceaneer club

From highly interactive spaces and games to crazy experiments and all kinds of activities, Disney Oceaneer’s Lab is dedicated to exploration and designed just for kids. The Disney Oceaneer’s Lab-themed play spaces include:

  • Animator’s Studio
  • Craft Studio
  • The Wheelhouse
  • Captain’s Workshop.

They also provide one-of-a-kind guided group activities to add more discovery and learning:

  • Get the Hook!
  • Piston Cup Challenge
  • Anyone Can Cook
  • Super Sloppy Science with Professor Make-O-Mess
  • What Goes Up
  • Zootopia Mystery Trek
  • Stitch’s Space Goo
  • Disney Pals Pajama Party.

Disney Cruise Edge

disneywonderedge

The Edge is for those aged 11 to 14.

Note that whilst there used to be an overlap for kids aged 11 and 12 who could choose to go either to Oceaneers or Edge, this is no longer then case. There is no flexibility with the ages groups.

My children have all formed some long-lasting friendships with people who they met in Disney Cruise Edge because of how the space on each ship is designed to appeal to that age group.

There is a lot of interaction with the Disney counselors for this age group, with an emphasis on smaller groups!

Disney Cruise Edge is designed for tweens to engage in cool and engaging daily activities such as:

  • That’s Hilarious
  • Heroes and Villains
  • Crowning of the Couch Potato
  • A Pirate’s Life for Me
  • Descendant’s Den DJ Spin Off.

From karaoke to video games, puzzles, challenges, and scavenger hunts to arts and crafts, there is something to appeal to all in this Disney Cruise Kids Club age group.

That’s not to mention that Disney characters also visit the Kids Clubs at certain times!

disney cruise oceaneer club

Disney Kids Clubs Vibe

disneywondervibe

Disney Kids Club Vibe is for teens aged from 14 to 17.

To access the Vibe on the Disney Fantasy and the Dream, teenagers have to have their own key card which is specially coded.

On the Disney Magic and the Wonder, the loft-inspired space is in the forward Funnel.

The Disney Fantasy and Dream have wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces that might even make you wish you were a teenager again!

Lastly, the different spaces on the Disney Dream Class ships are perfect for teens to hang out and make friends.

disney cruise oceaneer club

Vibe is a teen-exclusive haven where your kids can chill out, watch TV, listen to music, play group games, and more with cruisers their age. It is fully equipped with multiple flat-screen TVs, video games, board games, and tablets.

From catching some rays to day-and-night dance parties, Vibe also hosts a range of daily fun-filled activities that include:

  • Teen Download
  • Vibe Movie Makers

Is There a Kids Club on Castaway Cay?

Yes, Disney has thought of everything. There is even a Kids Club on their private island Castaway Cay .

When the ship docks in Castaway Cay they can still use the Kids Clubs on board.

However, there is also a place on the island where they can be looked after by the Disney Counsellors. This is a more convenient option if you are planning to spend some of the time with the kids on Castaway Cay, as you don’t have to go back to the ship to collect them.

Scuttle’s Cove is available to any child aged 3 to 10 who is registered with the Kids Clubs.

What is there to do on Castaway Cay?

How To Register for the Disney Cruise Kids Clubs

For any of the kid’s clubs on a Disney Cruise, you do need to register your child.

The easiest way to do this is online. You will have the option to do this once you have paid in full for your cruise.

It does save some time if you do this prior to your cruise.

You can also do this at the terminal on embarkation day. The lines do tend to be quite long for this, but it can keep you occupied whilst you wait for your boarding party to be called.

theedgeondisneyfantasycruisship

You will fill out all the paperwork (it doesn’t take long). You will then get a Disney Cruise Line Youth Activities Magic Band for each child.

This has to be handed back at the end of the cruise or you will be charged.

You can keep the Magic Band as a souvenir if you want, but you will be charged $12.95.

disneykidsclubmagiband

When you get on board the ship there will be an open house.

You can tour all the kid’s clubs at this time – it is a great opportunity to see what is available.

Disney Cruise Lines has a downloadable PDF for younger cruisers so that they can know what to expect on the cruise.

It has some good information and includes some coloring pages that younger children may like.

Safety and Security Measures of the Kids Clubs

Parents can download the Navigator’s App and use it to directly contact the youth counselors at any given time.

Counselors cannot give any medication to your child, but there is a trained First Aid Cast Member in the Nursery at all times.

At Disney Cruise kids clubs, each child has a wristband for identification. These spaces are secure because only adults who you authorize can collect your child and they have to know the password.

Tips for Parents

To give your children the best Disney Cruise kids club experience, we’ve rounded up some of the most practical tips that parents can use in planning their perfect Disney Cruise vacation:

  • Familiarize yourself with the corresponding Disney Cruise kids club ages to find out the best options for your child
  • Explore the different clubs and attend the open houses with your children during their specified times
  • Make sure to provide diapers, wipes, and pull-ups if your child is not potty-trained
  • Use the family playtime hours (8 AM – 9 AM) in the nursery as an opportunity to spend quality time with your toddlers
  • Quiet spaces and movie rooms are always available if your kids need to take a break or a nap!

Disney Cruise Kids Clubs – Final Thoughts

disneycruisekidsclub

The Kid’s Clubs on all of the Disney Ships are excellent.

The environment is well designed, the Counsellors are wonderful and the mix between scheduled activities and free choice of things to do is just right.

Most kids will love it. And parents too!

You do have to be prepared so that your child may not want to spend much time with you! Other children, never really take to it and won’t want to spend time there.

It just depends on the individual.

My eldest, who is now an adult, never really wanted to spend time there. My two sons would spend all the time they possibly could in the kid’s clubs.

Be prepared for either scenario!

One thing which is particularly great about the kid’s clubs is that my sons have formed lasting friendships with people who they have met on the Disney Cruises. It can be a wonderful bonding experience.

Is a 2 year old able to play in Andy’s Room on the Fantasy, with his parents of course, during Open House? Is there an Open House for this room, guess is apart of Oceaneers Club, everyday? Many thanks!

Sunday 14th of January 2024

Yes you can take your 2 year old to the Open House. They are usually scheduled every day and you will find out the time on your Navigator App

Sunday 23rd of July 2023

This may seem a silly question but we're doing our first cruise soon and my child will be 3 1/2. She's worried about how she asks me to come and get her if she's not having fun or she misses me? Do you know what the process is for them letting parents know that a kid wants/needs to be collected? I don't want to be going back every 1/2 hour to check she's ok, but I also want to be able to tell her the plan to reassure her that she won't be stuck there if she's not feeling comfortable

Wednesday 26th of July 2023

Don't worry! The Cast Members at the Kids Club are very aware that this can happen. You will be contacted by text if they need to collect here. You can also spend some time with her at the Open Houses that they have so that she feels more comfortable.

Friday 9th of June 2023

I was wondering what, if any, separation there is in the younger (3 to 12 yr.) club space? We are planning a cruise next year and my daughter will be 4. I want her to have fun in the club space, but if she is around 9, 10, 11, year olds, I can foresee there being possible issues, given the age and size gap. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sunday 11th of June 2023

The are different spaces for each age Group so all kids are with the same age Groups. On all the ships there is a corridor connecting the spaces, but this is more for the older children to use so they can go between the different areas if they want. At 4 years old she would be with her own age Group. Disney Kids Clubs really are the best at sea.

Tuesday 24th of January 2023

Just got off magic. They do not feed your kids anything in the kids club. FYI.

Wednesday 25th of January 2023

@Sarah, do you know if they just flat don’t allow eating and drinking there or can I drop off quick food instead of having to pull him out? Also, my son doesn’t have a cell phone. Is there a way for kids to communicate with their parents besides giving them their own device with the navigator app?

Going on the Wonder to Alaska in May for 7 days as my first cruise with a 10 year old and 8 month infant

Thursday 12th of January 2023

Thanks for this post. My only question… Is eating at the kids club for lunch and dinner available every day? I thought I read elsewhere that it was only select days.

Thanks for all the other info. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Monday 16th of January 2023

I don't believe that lunch and dinner in the Kids Clubs is an option at the moment.

Back to the Mouse

Disney wonder oceaneer club and lab.

disney cruise oceaneer club

On Disney Cruise Line, the Oceaneer Lab and Club provide a unique, separate space for children ages 3-12.  The Lab and the Club are separate spaces connected through a long hallway.  They are located on Deck 5.  We had the opportunity to visit the Lab and the Club during the open house hours on a recent Disney Wonder sailing in January 2020.

The entrance to both spaces are access controlled by the activity counselors.  Kids have to be registered to use the kids clubs.  You can register them online in advance of your cruise, which gets them enrolled and sets their check-in/check-out privileges.  The privileges relate to whether the child can leave the club when they want versus the club Cast Members calling you when your child wants to leave.  When our daughter was younger, we would have them call us.  Once we had been on a few cruises, we would let her check herself out and come back to the room (we always told her where we would be so she could easily find us).  You can also give a list of people that are authorized to pick your child up from the Club.  We always authorized our older daughter so she could run and get her from the Club in case we were busy.

Once you have your kids registered online, you will have to get them a Magic Band in the cruise terminal when you check in, or while on the ship.  These Magic Bands are similar to the ones now used in Walt Disney World.  When you get the band, your room will be charged $12.95 per Magic Band.  This money will be refunded if you return the band before the end of the cruise.  The Magic Bands are used to scan the kids in and out of the club.  I believe they have some way to tell where the kids are in the Club based upon the band as well, so maybe they are have RFID chips in them.

Kids must wash their hands before entering the Club or Lab.  This is the best part of the Club, at least in my opinion.  Look at the hand washing machine:

The Oceaneer Lab features hands-on activities such as science and cooking classes, video games and movies, and space for art and music projects.  Once you enter the Lab, you are welcomed into a large open space with smaller rooms of to the left.  The main room is used for large counselor led activities.

Oceaneer Lab Center Room

To the left of the main room is an drawing studio for young artists.

Next to the Animator’s Studio is a craft room.  There are tons of supplies on the walls of the room that can be accessed for various crafts.

Oceaneer Lab Craft Studio

The next room on the left is a large video game area.

Oceaneer Lab Game Studio

Part of this area includes ship simulators where you can pilot the Disney Wonder!  The activities include docking the ship at Castaway Cay.

Disney Cruise SImulator

To the right of the large room is a large series of tables.  We didn’t see this area in use, but perhaps it is for some of the science or food related activities that take place in the Lab.

Oceaneer Lab Table Area

You can now move freely from the Lab into the Club via this hallway!

Connecting Hallway

The hallway has several portholes that look into the atrium!

Hallway View Into the Atrium

The hallway leads into the Disney Junior Room in the Oceaneer Club.  The spaces in the Club are mostly themed around fantasy and pretend play, including well-known characters from Disney movies and shows.

Disney Junior Room

The Disney Junior room has lots of seating.

Disney Junior Room

The next room in the club is the Marvel Super Hero Academy!

Marvel Super Hero Academy

There are lots of Marvel “artifacts” in the Academy.   There are also various Avengers that will visit the club throughout the day!

Marvel Super Hero Academy

Another room in the Club is Andy’s Bedroom!  There is a slide and a television in the room for movies.

Andys Room

There is also a Frozen room.  While the room is well themed, I couldn’t quite figure out what the room is used for.  Most likely coloring or movies, based upon the layout of the room.

Frozen Adventures Room

There is also a large room that all these different rooms connect through (similar to the Lab).  This room is used for activities for a large number of children.

Oceaneer Club Main Room

Our younger daughter has recently been heading to the Vibe , but enjoyed going to the Club for many years.  She was always able to find stuff to do and loved the activities.  There is also less of an emphasis on finding a group of friends here since the activities are led by the cast members and they include everyone that wants to participate.  Its a very inclusive environment and one we highly suggest you let your children enjoy.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club & Lab on the Disney Cruise Line

disney cruise oceaneer club

It’s no secret that Disney is all about kids! We’ve learned, however, that as Disney widens their experiences for the kids, much of it is to benefit the adults as well. A happy child makes it much easier to be a happy parent, right?! So, as you set sail on the Disney Cruise Line, keep in mind that Disney offers an Oceaneer Club and Lab for children ages 3-12. While you may think this is just an excuse for parents to get away, the kids benefit the most! You’ll want to know these nine things about Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Lab.

1 – Two Experiences in One

On the Disney Cruise Line, you’ll find two locations for ages 3-12. One is the Oceaneer Club, and the other is the Oceaneer Lab. Both areas have entrances, but a large room separates the two and allows kids to explore from one side to the other. The main difference between the two areas is their play/activity options. The Lab side has several gaming components with iPads and game systems among tables with arts and crafts, television screens playing Disney movies, plus other high-tech entertainment. The Club side was our kids’ favorite because it’s more interactive play with a dance floor, large meeting space, and themed rooms that jets off the main room, such as Andy’s Room or the Millennium Falcon screen and controls.

2 – Registration Logistics

When you do your online check-in for your Cruise, you’ll be prompted to let the system know more about your kids coming on board. Questions like allergies, special needs, who can pick up your child from the Club, and even a secret word are requested. All of this is a form of registration to prepare you for the arrival of your child at the Oceaneer Club & Lab. It’s hard to believe, but the cost to participate in the Oceaneer Club & Lab is NOTHING. It’s totally free!

3 – Locations & Hours

The location of the Oceaneer Club and Lab are right next to each other. They are also conveniently situated close (but far enough away) to the Adult lounges and clubs on the ship. The hours are typically between 9:00 am and midnight. We left our kids to play in the Club for no more than an hour at a time. This was enough time for us to enjoy an adult activity and a drink or two. Each child is different, but our kids were ready to leave the Club after an hour or so. They were always ready for the next thing offered on the ship or just another ride on the AquaDuck!

4 – Loaded with Youth Activities

Even though kids can wander about the Oceaneer Club and Lab on their own (with close Cast Member supervision), there are also organized activities that our kids loved. These are usually run by one of the very energetic Cast Members and can be anything from ball games to sing-alongs, scavenger hunts, and even Disney Character encounters. You never know when Stitch, Belle, Tianna, Goofy, and many others may just pop in for a visit to hang out with the kids.

5 – Impressive Security

Nothing is more difficult as a parent than dropping your kids off with people you don’t know. Thankfully with Disney, we know the level of Cast Members brought in for the Oceaneer Club is paramount. They are truly the ones that make the experience magical and safe for the kids. We were overly impressed with the security procedures. You must bring your key card (or DisneyBand+) to pick up your child. This is scanned, and the Cast Member informs you where exactly your child is located within the Club (using the MagicBand chip). They then make sure you match the image on their screen of the person allowed to pick up your child. They also match the child’s image to make sure you are taking the correct kid. Finally, they ask for a secret word you’ve decided on as a family before you can leave. It’s incredible, really, and very reassuring knowing the drop-off and pick-up process is so secure.

6 – Ease of Being Reached

Before you set out to enjoy some adult activities, be sure to bring along the Wave phone in your room to receive alerts from the Oceaneer Club. If you don’t want to carry this phone with you, you can also use your Cruise Navigator App to receive text alerts. We had both on hand as there were some issues with the Cruise Navigator App on the first day of the cruise, and we were concerned we wouldn’t get a message if needed. The Cast Members will text you if something should arise that concerns them or if your kids are just ready to be picked up. It’s reassuring to know you’re just a text away!

disney cruise oceaneer club

7 – Cleanliness

You always hear of people getting sick on a cruise because of the number of people in such a confined space. We were happy to see quite impressive hand washing stations available at the entrance/exit of the Oceaneer Club & Lab. When kids enter and exit, they are encouraged to wash their hands. Soap dispenses, and kids put their hands in a handwashing machine that does the work for them for the most part. Our 3-year-old thought these machines were going to suck him in, so he preferred the standard wipes and sink. Our 10-year-old, however, thought these machines were awesome.

8 – Overall Experience

Overall, the kids loved their Oceaneer Club & Lab experience. Our 3-year-old son asked us several times if he could go play. He stays at home normally, so this was a surprise that he was so eager to leave Mom and Dad. Once he was there, though, he was ready to get back to us after about an hour in. We got a text the first time we dropped him off that he was ready to be picked up about 45 minutes in. Our 10-year-old daughter spent most of her time following her brother around and doing what he would like to do, as she’s a natural babysitter! However, she still had a good time and was happy with a daily visit to the club. When we do another Disney Cruise, we have no doubt our kids will be on the lookout for what’s new at the Oceaneer Club & Lab!

Disney Cruise Line adds Capt. Minnie Mouse to bow of Disney Treasure

W hen Disney Cruise Line’s new ship Disney Treasure makes its way to Port Canaveral this year, Minnie Mouse will once again be leading the way.

In an image shared on the Disney Parks Blog with updates on the new vessel’s construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, the bow artwork featuring Captain Minnie Mouse wearing an adventure-themed outfit has been rendered complete with the signature golden filigree similar to the hull art designs found on the rest of the cruise line’s fleet of ships.

“Its completion marks an exciting milestone for the Disney Treasure as it begins the next stage of construction,” reads the post. “The installation process began when the shipyard team welded a number of pre-cut steel plates to the Disney Treasure’s hull. Once the framework of the design had been secured, the plates were painted by hand to obtain their iconic golden hue and sealed with a special topcoat.”

It’s the second time Captain Minnie has made a bow appearance after 2022’s Disney Wish, a sister ship to Disney Treasure that was the first of three vessels in a new class for the cruise line.

The original Disney Magic that debuted in 1998 featured Mickey Mouse from “Fantasia” while its sister ship Disney Wonder that began sailing in 1999 features a rendering of Steamboat Willie.

The fleet’s third ship Disney Dream in 2011 has Captain Mickey at the stern while its sister ship Disney Fantasy in 2012 features a second version of Sorcerer Mickey from “Fantasia.”

Disney Cruise Line queues up old and new features for new ship Disney Treasure

Each ship in the fleet also features whimsical character statues attached to the stern. For Disney Treasure, it will be Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

The ship is approaching one year since its keel-laying ceremony in March 2023 and won’t be complete until late 2024.

Like Disney Wish, Disney Treasure will sail from Port Canaveral, mostly on seven-night voyages beginning  Dec. 21, 2024, with alternating eastern and western Caribbean itineraries. Wish will continue with short three- and four-night Bahamas duties.

Among spaces coming to the 144,000-gross-ton, 4,000-passenger vessel include bars inspired by the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea theme park attractions and an Aladdin-themed Grand Hall atrium.

Haunted Mansion bar is coming to Disney’s new cruise ship

The popular Oceaneer’s Club aimed at children ages 3-12 will have the same five venues seen on Disney Wish for Marvel, Star Wars, Disney Imagineers, Disney Princesses and Mickey and Minnie.

Its top deck will once again feature the AquaMouse water coaster-dark ride combo while the rotational dining will bring back a new version of the Worlds of Marvel restaurant and the California cuisine venue 1923 named in deference to the opening year for Walt Disney’s animation studio. The ship will also have higher-end dining at the “Beauty and the Beast”-themed Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement as well as their shared cocktail lounge The Rose,

Disney Cruise Line taps ‘Moana’ for original show on Disney Treasure

New to the ship is a dinner theater experience based on the Disney Pixar movie “Coco,” a new dessert venue themed to “Zootopia,” and a pair of coffee, tea and snack options: Heihei Café, named after the rooster from the film “Moana,” and Jade Cricket Café, named after the cricket from the film “Mulan.”

One other revamped venue will be called Sarabi, taking the same space and role as Luna on Disney Wish. Themed to “The Lion King,” the two-deck venue acts as a family fun theater during the day and adult entertainment at night.

The main stage will feature a new show based on “Moana” as well as existing shows for “Beauty and the Beast” and the play “Disney Seas the Day” that debuted on Disney Wish.

Disney Treasure’s arrival will grow the DCL fleet to six ships with two more in the works.

A third Wish-class ship that has yet to be named is due in 2025 along with another ship under construction that will be based in Asia named the Disney Adventure.

Nightlife City Guide

Moscow nightlife beautiful girls

Moscow: nightlife and clubs

Moscow nightlife: despite the freezing weather, the Russian capital gets hot as the sun goes down. Between discos, luxury, exaggerated parties and beautiful Russian girls, the Moscow nightlife offers everything you need for memorable nights.

Moscow nightlife

The city of Moscow is definitely one of the most interesting European cities: the stories about underground lines and secret bunkers, the architecture of its buildings, from the Kremlin to St. Basil's Cathedral, up to the Soviet style of the Seven Sisters and modern skyscrapers, make the Russian capital is a unique and fascinating city.

Moscow nightlife by night

One of the many things that Moscow is famous for is its wild nightlife . Moscow never sleeps. If there is anything true about Russians, it is that they love to party! Despite its freezing weather, Moscow turns out to be a hot city with endless fun, hip nightclubs, extreme luxury, beautiful Russian girls and lots of booze when night falls!

Moscow Russian girls nightlife

In fact, in recent years, the Russian capital has definitively abandoned the gray period of communism and its inhabitants have given vent to their desire for fun. As you might expect in a city of over 12 million people, Moscow has an amazing array of nightlife options and a huge choice for all tastes, whether you are a jazz fan, hardcore clubbers or just plain old alcoholics. The nightlife in Moscow winds through a multitude of alternative and transgressive nightclubs where the watchword is to meet new people and spend a night of unbridled and uninhibited fun . In addition to the numerous discos, in the Russian capital there are also 20 casinos open until dawn. For those who want a break of intriguing relaxation, in the city of Moscow there are also numerous massage salons .

Moscow nightlife

Most of Moscow's nightclubs contain a restaurant, a bar area and a nightclub (the larger ones also have bowling alleys, billiards and a casino!). Perhaps because Moscow is such a large metropolis with very cold temperatures and taxis are so expensive that the owners of the bars and clubs want to offer their customers an all in one place for night entertainment.

So, in other words, Moscow is not the best city in the world for bar-crawling, especially bearing in mind that these multipurpose venues often charge entrance, but rather it is better to carefully choose the club where to spend the night.

For a quieter and more sober evening, head for an evening stroll along the Via Arbat or the Red Square to be fascinated by the lights of the city and the grandeur of the buildings, and admire the shops and street artists. An alternative to experience Moscow's nightlife is to spend an evening of lyric, ballet or opera. The Russian capital is home to around sixty theaters, the most famous of which is the world-renowned Bolshoi Theater (Theater Square, 1, Moscow).

Moscow nightlife Bolshoi Theater

Moscow nightlife districts

Moscow's nightlife is not concentrated in a single district but is scattered throughout the city. However, there are areas with a greater concentration of bars and nightclubs .

The Krasnij Oktjabr (Russian for "Red October") complex, a red brick building located on the island in the center of the Moscow River that once housed a chocolate factory, is dotted with numerous trendy nightclubs and offers spectacular views of the river and the symbolic places of the Russian capital. This is where the most glamorous parties in Moscow take place, there are numerous bars, restaurants and art galleries.

Nightlife Moscow Red October Krasnij Oktjabr

Other neighborhoods with good nightlife are the old manufactory area near the Russian government building which houses some bars, the area around the Trubnaya metro and around Kuznetsky Most , while the Kurskaya groups the clubs with electronic music. We can also mention the area of the Patriarch's ponds, an area that is teeming with quiet bars.

Clubs and discos in Moscow

fb_icon_tiny

The crowd is very mixed. Students, young professionals, techno lovers, tourists all gather at Propaganda. Everyone comes to enjoy the music and have fun. It is one of the few clubs where the dancefloor dominates and there are hardly any tables, apart from a few that overlook the entire space. Propaganda is a restaurant until midnight. You can come earlier for dinner and stay for dancing. After midnight, the staff clears the tables from the dance floor and the whole place turns into a club. The place is different from the usual Moscow restaurant / club hybrids, however, because the atmosphere changes completely from "relaxed restaurant" to "underground electro club". Not to be missed.

Moscow Nightlife Propaganda

There are more areas with different music. In the first area, expect a mix of traditional music and Russian pop songs. In the second, slightly larger area, there is live Russian pop music until 2am. After that it is mostly some kind of electronic music. The club is frequented by beautiful Russian girls around 18-25 years old, stunning students or models, and of course there is a good deal of young Russians, middle-aged men and foreign tourists trying their luck! Unlike many other nightclubs, the Icon is a pure nightclub and not a club turned into a restaurant. In any case, if you like to party in a big club and want to savor the typical Moscow nightlife , this is the perfect solution.

Moscow Icon Club nightlife

The crowd is the same as in other high-end Moscow clubs. Men are rarely under the age of 35 and are committed to giving the impression that money is not an issue. The women are amazing even by Moscow nightlife - if you want to meet Moscow's super models, this is the place! Ideal if you want to toast with the Moscow elite.

Moscow Siberia nightlife

The club is located on two floors. The lower floor is mainly frequented by people hanging out at the bar and is good for conversation. The narrow stairs that perfectly fit the student atmosphere of the club take you to the main floor where the real party takes place, complete with a bedlam and girls dancing on the bar counter. In the summer months there is also an outdoor terrace. The place is always crowded and bouncers unnecessarily queue people - having a table or someone inside can be the key to skipping the queue. Otherwise, you might end up waiting half an hour or more. Come early or come back late if you want to avoid the crowds.

Moscow nightlife Rolling Stone Bar

The crowd that frequents this club is quite mixed. People are less trendy and more underground. The place is suitable for afterhours, so most people arrive from 3am onwards.

Moscow Gazgolder nightlife

Immediately upon entering, you will have the feeling that you have come to the local high school graduation prom instead of a real Moscow nightclub. There is no real interior design, but basically just a large hall with a stage and a bar. The crowd is almost entirely made up of teenagers and young people. Not many of the teens speak English, but it probably doesn't matter after all the alcohol. The music ranges from Russian pop and hip-hop to the most famous international hits. Perfect if you want to party and drink alcohol in one of the cheapest clubs in Moscow .

Moscow Tipsy nightlife

Here too, it's full of beautiful girls and it's also a great place to hit them off, as those who come here are notoriously more approachable. The advice is to be very firm with the girls who approach and to make your intentions clear. If you want to be 100% sure to get in, come at 2am when the club is still uncrowded.

Moscow nightlife Miks Afterparty

Oblaka plays a mix of Russian and international pop music. Occasionally, as in many other clubs, there are performances by Russian pop singers. As is often the case in these types of clubs, the music and DJ are not the best but the guests don't seem to care.

Moscow Oblaka nightlife

Moscow's bars and pubs

The bar looks similar but still distinctly different than regular Moscow posh clubs. Most of the people who frequent this place are over 25, and you can find everything from young professionals to creative types to self-proclaimed models. Great if you want to see the "real Muscovites" celebrate without the overblown flashes of wealth. The proposed music is a strange mix of old and new commercial songs and Russian pop.

Moscow nightlife Bar Klava

Downstairs is a large open space that opens its doors wide in the summer. The interior is rustic, yet elegant, with wooden furnishings and plenty of seating. The interior combined with Ugolek's popularity creates a crowded yet intimate atmosphere, especially on weekends. People come to chat, drink and eat. The upstairs bar has a more welcoming atmosphere. It is smaller, with soft lighting and armchairs to be able to relax. On weekends there is a DJ who mixes electronic music and transforms the bar into a relaxed place, ideal for the pre-party.

Moscow Nightlife • A Complete Guide

Moscow is the capital of Russia and is one of the most populated cities in the country. Apart from traditional architecture, the city has been modernized to keep up with time. The nightlife of Moscow is exceptionally vibrant. You can find several casinos, nightclubs, and bars in the city. If you were planning a trip to Moscow and were confused about what during the night, don’t worry! Here are some of the best night-time experiences that you must try in Moscow!

When can you experience the nightlife in Moscow?

Although the bars and nightclubs are open daily, it is most vibrant on Saturdays and Fridays. Moscow residents like to work hard, and only on these days, they let their guard down. You can party for 12 hours straight on these days. There is almost no crowd on the other days of the week. Usually, the nightlife of Moscow begins at 11 am. You can catch your dinner early to prepare for all the partying. Most of the parties in clubs go on till 3 am. But the fun doesn’t end there. You can look for after-party clubs after that.

Best bars in Moscow

Moscow bars are extremely lively. From beautiful women to authentic drinks – the bars in Moscow have a lot to offer. In recent times, several establishments have popped up. If you are a tourist, it can be difficult for you to pick out the right one. To clear your confusion, you can refer to the below-mentioned list of bars for your night-out in this city:

This joint is not extremely glamorous and yet, is one of the most popular bars in Moscow. Kamchatka is a beer bar that has a vintage Soviet feel to it. The décor of this bar makes it look like a cafeteria and adds a dash of old-world charm to it. It is one of the most affordable bars in Moscow. Most locals tend to hang out here. The menu is simple yet hearty. If you want to avoid noisy places and enjoy a drink in peace, this is where you need to be in Moscow.

  • I Like Wine

The bar is appropriately named, as you can get an extensive collection of wine at this joint. Wines are collected from all parts of the world and delivered to the customers at this bar. You can even get a couple of cocktails on the menu. But mostly wine lovers visit this pub. This wine bar also has a good food menu. The prices are extremely pocket-friendly, and you can eat on a budget at this place.

  • Solyanka Bar

It is one of the indie bars in Moscow. The party atmosphere of this bar is infectious. Located in an old mansion, it serves fusion cuisine during the daytime. But at night, it becomes the hippest joint in town. The drinks are expensive but worth it. The DJs play the latest hits to keep up the spirits of the partygoers. The place lives up to its indie bar reputation as the décor is extremely rustic. The brick walls, exposed bulbs, and second-hand furniture make it a go-to spot for all the hipsters in Moscow.

You can always find students in Strelka as it is one of the popular bars in the city. The view from this bar is breathtaking as it overlooks the Moscow River. The 70s inspire the décor. It is aesthetic and yet comfortable. Moreover, the cocktail menu at this bar is fantastic. The concoctions are prepared by using local ingredients. Perhaps this is the reason why bar hoppers prefer this bar over others. If you are lucky, you will be able to witness one of the weekly concerts and events held here.

If you want to experience something vintage, this is the place you should visit. Terma Bar is one of the oldest bars in the city. You can find over 150 alcoholic beverages at this bar. The bartenders are incredibly skilled and put up a show with fire while they prepare your drinks. There is an adventurous food menu at the club which serves Uzbek cuisine. Moreover, the bar is open 24/7, so you can drop by at any time.

Do you hate bars where the music is so loud that you cannot talk to anyone else? If you do, you can visit ‘Noor.’ This electro bar is located on Tverskaya street. It is incredibly cozy, and the music’s volume levels are kept in check to promote conversations. On weekends, you will be able to attend live music events of national and international artists. The décor of this club is chic and is an ideal place to grab a couple of drinks with family and friends.

  • City Space Bar and Lounge

The City Space Bar and Club provides a stunning view of Moscow. This bar is located on the 34 th floor of a hotel. It is highly exclusive, and only those who can afford to spend big bucks visit this bar. The drinks and food are not cheap at City Space Bar and Lounge. However, it is worth it!

  • Mendeleev Bar

This bar might be hard to locate as it is built behind a Chinese Shop. But you should put into finding the bar as if it is worth the experience. As soon as you enter this place, you will be able to see a dark cellar. You can find a long list of alcoholic beverages at this place. Moreover, if you are lucky, you will be able to witness the occasional jazz concerts hosted in this secret bar.

  • Chinese Pilot Jao Dao (Kitaysky Lyotchk Dzhao-Da)

Go on a night tour in Moscow

Moscow is a city that is rich in terms of culture and heritage. If you are not a party person, you can ditch the usual options and book yourself a seat in one of the Moscow tour events. Several companies offer different night-time tour packages for tourists in Moscow. But why should you depend on a guide when you can roam around on your own? A food tour will help you to discover the unconventional spots in the city as well. It can be difficult for a tourist to find out about Khitrovka and Kitay Gorod on his/her own.  Try to look for tours which take you to ‘Annushka’ – the infamous former restaurant on rails in this city.

Hence, your chances of meeting someone new are quite high at London Night Club.

This place is always bustling with energy. The Soho Rooms have been in the business for years. It was closed down in 2017 for renovations. But it is back with a bang. If you like commercial music and lively places, you should pay a visit to this club.

The only word that will come to your mind when you see this club is ‘posh.’ Club Oblaka is one of Moscow’s extravagant, high-end nightclubs. Mostly the club plays Russian Pop. Unlike any other club, the party doesn’t only occur on Fridays and Saturdays. Only the rich can afford to visit this club, and they like to party on all the days of the week. The VIP service available at this club is top-notch, and you should visit this club if you can spend a lot.

LGBTQIA bar and clubs in Moscow

Although none of the bars can discriminate against the LGBTQIA community, there are a few unique hangout spots for the community. You can meet new people as well as enjoy yourself with your old buddies at:

The Boyz club is a popular LGBTQIA nightclub in Moscow. Mostly the youth of the city visit this highly energetic joint. The place is extremely spacious. It has around three bars, one lounge bar, and two dance floors. If you do not enjoy dancing, you can start using karaoke equipment instead. The parties at this place are to die for. Boyz Club stays open till 10 am on weekends. The parties that are hosted at this place are wild. You can find several music events as well as drag shows at Boyz Club regularly.

It is probably the most famous and oldest LGBTQIA bar in Moscow. Propaganda opened its doors for its customers back in the year 1997. It functions as a café in the morning where you can get the best cuisines in town. But at night, the whole look of this place changes. The LGBTQIA night events are hosted mostly on Saturdays. It is a place where everyone feels accepted. The staff is extremely friendly and quick with orders.

If you want to witness cabaret shows, this place should be on your itinerary.  The energy of this club is infectious. Despite the decors being changed almost every year, the bar has held onto its authenticity. The warm and comfortable atmosphere can make anyone feel at home. The travesty shows are held on every Friday and Saturday. These shows begin at 1.30 am and go on all night long.

  • Central Station

Central Station is another decent LGBTQIA club in the city. There are about two dance floors with very different kinds of vibes. You can call your entire gang to their karaoke club and have a gala time. During the summer, you can hang around on the terrace. Drag shows are a regular event at Central Station. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is extremely efficient at this place.

Located in Pokrovsky Boulevard, Mono Bar is a famous hangout spot for people from the LGBTQIA community. The club was started in 2014 and, since then, has gained a lot of regular customers. Mostly you will be able to hear European as well as Russian music at this club. There is a balcony which is the smoking area. If you want to meet more people, it is ideal for visiting this place after midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

After-party clubs in Moscow

The Russians like to party hard, and hence, the party goes on till dawn. After the party ends around 1-3 am in certain clubs, you can head over to a couple of after-party venues to have fun. Here are some of the best ones in Moscow:

People who party at high-end clubs tend to visit Miks for the after-party. There is plenty of alcohol for you to get wasted. The DJs at this joint mostly like to play Tech and House. Do not worry about the price, as the cover charge is minimal at Miks. The place is dimly lit and is the perfect place to end the night.

Gazgolder offers a more Berlin like after-party atmosphere to its guests. The cover charge is a bit more than the other clubs, but it is worth it. The décor of this place is trendy and creative. The place is huge, and you can sit in the outdoor area during the summer months. On some days, the after-party might continue till the next afternoon. All in all, if you want to party like an animal, this is the place you should visit.

Voda is an ultra-hip joint where you can head over for the after-party. It is a small yet vibrant place where you can get good cocktails. The décor of this club is incredibly quirky. You have to ring the doorbell to get inside the club. The walls are made up of exposed concrete. The main venue downstairs is properly lit. Lime-stone staircase, wooden beams, and bar stools give the place a vintage vibe. The DJs mostly play Electronic music at this pub. One of the most exciting features of this club is that there are no menus. It would be best to inform the bartender what you want to drink, and he will serve it to you. Do not worry, as all the mixologists can converse in English.

This after-party venue makes you feel like you have been transported to Berlin. The interiors of this place have an industrial feel to them. During the day, this acts as a bike repair shop. But at night, you can party at Entuziast till late at night. Mostly the hipsters tend to party at this place. The bar is made up of metal, and you can see racing flags all over the place. You can get a wide array of choices when it comes to beers and cider. Craft beer is extremely popular at this joint.  During the summers, you can sit outside on the beach chairs arranged on the deck. The snacks are light and ideal for eating with a pint of beer.

There are so many different things to do in Moscow during the night. Whether you want to grab a couple of drinks or dance into the night with your friends – you will find a spot for yourself in this city. It is advisable to try out almost all the places mentioned above when you are visiting Moscow. The Russian party life is different from any other culture. They believe in working hard and partying even harder. They mostly like to party when they are done with their work for the week. If you want to experience that culture, you must prepare yourself to party till the sun comes up. It will be one of the most memorable experiences of your life.

First Look at the New Disney Dream: Disney Infinity Play Area in the Oceaneer Club Plus Unlockables

The new Disney Dream is fresh out of her first ever dry dock with many new enhancements, one being an all new Disney Infinity interactive video game area in the Oceaneer Club. The Disney Infinity area is located in the room on the immediate left as you enter the Oceaneer Club.

Disney Infinity Oceaneer Club Entrance Disney Dream

Since the launch of the Disney Dream, this space had been the Monsters Inc. room.

Monsters Inc Oceaneer Club Disney Fantasy

When a child requests to play with a specific character, the figure is swapped out by a Youth Activities Counselor. The  Disney Infinity figure is placed on the base in a locked box located at each game station to limit the spreading of germs from all the kids handling the figures. It is not obvious by looking around the room, but there is a back stock of Disney Infinity figures in the game station cabinets in the event more than one child wants to play the same character.

Disney Infinity Game Station Oceaneer Club Disney Dream

This display area even has a version of Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Disney Infinity Play Rocket Raccoon Oceaneer Club Disney Dream

Below is a video walkthrough of the Disney Infinity space aboard the new Disney Dream. The video includes a look around the Disney Infinity room, a segment showing how the figures are changed out and the beginning of the interactive game play mode using the life size Disney Infinity base built into the floor.

The gift shops have some Disney Infinity merchandise available. Remember when Disney announced there would be some unique Disney Cruise Line unlockables for use at home during the D23 Expo ? Well, Disney found a way to sell more Oceaneer Bands because the Oceaneer Bands is the key to unlocking the Disney Cruise Line ship at home. We do not have Disney Infinity, so I am unable to test this out for ourselves. If you have an Oceaneer Band and the latest version of Disney Infinity, throw it on the base to unlock the Castaway Cay Toy Box. Thanks to Veive TwoFiftySeven  for this screenshots of the Disney Infinity Disney Cruise Line Special Access Toy Box in action!

The interior of the Port Canaveral cruise terminal is included with a Disney Infinity ship model in place of the Disney Magic.

Once onboard you can explore the Disney Dream’s atrium, upper decks and other areas.

Disney Infinity DCL Castaway Cay Toy Box Disney Dream Atrium

The Disney Cruise Line Special Access Disney Infinity Toy Box includes Castaway Cay, a perfect place for Hulkbuster to run around.

Disney Infinity DCL Castaway Cay Toy Box Docked Island

I would also expect a rash of adults with older kids, or none at all looking for a way to acquire a Oceaneer Band to unlock the special Disney Cruise content at home. In fact, DCL here is a free idea… Sell something in the gift shops for those who do not have kids between 3 and 12 that can get an Oceaneer Band.

The Disney Dream’s Oceaneer Club’s Disney Infinity play area should make for an awesome and memorable cruise experience for the target demographic. Our daughter enjoyed the space and found playing with other kids to be really fun (and this is from a child who maybe plays our Wii six times a year if that).

I will admit I was a bit harsh on the Disney Infinity area in my day 1 trip log . The Disney Infinity area was extremely popular with kids. Each time I stopped in the Oceaneer Club to pick up my daughter, there were kids waiting for their turn at one of the game station’s controllers. However, there is no doubt in my mind this new space will be a great marketing tool for Disney Infinity and I would expect that Disney Cruise Line will see some added sales each cruise with an increase in Oceaneer Band sales.

Any way my 14 year old an take advantage of the Disney infinity area? Maybe during the open house hours???

' src=

During open house anyone can go in any play.

Any idea how often the open house hours are? My son will be just turning 14 (he’s a little on the immature side) and is so upset if he has to miss this stuff.

There is always an open house on embarkation day. You will need to look at the schedule on the personal navigator for the open house times on your sailing.

' src=

The Edge and Vibe also have “invade the club” opportunities as well where the older kids can go into the Oceaneer Club after it has closed for the younger kids. My 11 year old son just did this on the 30 November 4 night sailing on the Dream. It was a late night but he had fun.

' src=

Scott, thanks for taking us along. You never dined in the main dining room? Was it just because you did Remy and Palo? Did you miss it?

You are not the first to ask this question. I may need to do a full write up. Primarily it was because 3 of the 4 days we went to Palo or Remy. This is our second Dream cruise skipping the MDRs and I loved it.

' src=

The ship is no doubt a floating marketing tool on its own (not that I mind…) but I appreciated having an area on board that was designed for younger kids to just play and interact with one another. No video game consoles, no products being sold, no isolated children staring at a screen all day.

Also, to me it seemed odd to dedicate an entire space around a video game since the shelf life of many video games is several years at best since kids get bored and move on. As popular as Disney Infinity is now it may lack the long term appeal of something like Pokemon which allows kids to collect, interact and play in a number of different and arguably more affordable ways (that another cruise line hasn’t jumped on a Pokemon experience is a bit of a mystery).

Time will tell, of course, but I suspect that in several years this space will receive yet another makeover with an interactive experience that has much broader appeal.

' src=

I don’t think you were too harsh about the infinity area. I don’t want my kids playing with electronics or video games at all so not thrilled about the new area. Mostly I’m sad monster’s Inc is gone, my son is a big fan.

' src=

We do not have video games at home and almost all of our friends’ kids also do not have video games at home. We really liked the kids clubs as they were. Also, our kids hate star wars. We have tried to get them to watch it but they say turn it off. Where does this leave us? It seems like they are trying to appeal to one “type” of kid and not all kids.

Just this morning cancelled a 4 night cruise on the dream for August 2016 because we are just not sure we want our young children exposed to that much gaming.

My family just got off the 30 November 4 night Bahamian Cruise on the Dream. I was really impressed with the entire look of the refreshed Oceaneer Lab. Though we do have Infinity 3.0 at home, my son (11) and daughter (8) focused more on the live activities that the club offered. My 8 year old daughter did play on the ship’s Infinity setup during one 30 minute challenge period, but never went back to it though she spent more time in the club and lab than our previous 3 cruises.

My son spent most of his club time in the Edge and while there did a nice balance between its video game offerings and activities like bingo, sports deck fun, four square, etc.

As for the magic band, it does unlock cool stuff on your infinity console. However, as I and my kids are not avid gamers, I had to do some research to actually get the unlock to work for our Xbox based infinity setup. I had to adjust my son’s Xbox live “Share stuff people make” privacy setting to “everybody”, have my son create a Disney account, link my son’s Disney account to his Xbox live account, sign into the Disney account and then follow the steps on the link below:

http://help.disney.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/Special-Access-Toy-Boxes-MagicBands

Took more work than anticipated but the unlocked items are way cool.

This was our 4th Disney cruise and now have sailed on every ship. Having now sailed the Magic and Dream shortly following their drydock periods, it looks like Disney will update the clubs periodically to keep up with kids’ interests. Disney Cruise Line has certainly kept my kids interest and they already want to go back!

Location and contact.

We were here in February, when tough lockdowns in Moscow have been eased. I was invited. Actually, I've never heard about the place so the impression was even stronger. Frankly speaking, judging by the façade, I'd just pass it by. A simple door, no sign... on it. Having stepped inside, however, I was charmed. Very elegant, client-friendly, cozy. Great ambience! The service was flawless - hospitable, quick, exact, professional. We ordered a Caesar salad, chicken tabaka (a Georgian dish - a falttened out chicken fried under a weight and seasoned with garlic and traditional Caucasian spices and herbs), Peking duck soup, a sweet and sour carp as well as some green tea. Marvellous, scrumptious, especially the carp!!! The bill equalled RUR 3,150 (ca. USD 42) for two persons. Not cheap at all but well worth it. Strongly recommended! We loved every minute of it. More

If you like good Chinese food, elegant decorations and quiet place, you should visit China Club. I had dim sum as my 2nd lunch the other day because I wanted to try another restaurant under Novikov Group (I found the restaurants operated by Novikov are... very GOOD). Dim sum is originated from my city. I found the dim sum at China Club was good (much better than in most European countries) and better than my expectations! The restaurant is very elegant and comfortable. Services were better than other restaurants in Moscow. If I visit Moscow again, I will visit China Club again. More

Sophisticated dining space in a non-descript side street. The room is dark, the mood is restrained. Waitstaff are on form - our glasses are never empty. Terrific wine list. We choose the Pouilly Fume, which dissects and supports the complexity of Asian flavours, carving through... the oiliness and occasional sweetness. We order, almost randomly, the vegetable spring rolls (a bit odd, and stringy), the white eggplant (outstanding!), the sweet & sour pork (lacking flavour - no capsicum, onion or pineapple), and Szechuan beef(underwhelming flavour but superbly tender - no Szechuan pepper to be seen or felt). Then the udon with beef and vegetables (yum), before the crescendo of Peking duck pancakes - the pancakes are so delicate and light, the duck cooked to perfection, skin crisp but not charred, the hoisin sauce gorgeous. Magnificent. Each dish served by silver service by the waiters, which was a novel twist to a banquet cuisine. But it works. Under AUD$200 for all that (including Badoit and rice). Marvellous. More

I was taken here by Russian hosts. The interior of the restaurant is visually appealing and it was not overly crowded or noisy. The food was standard "westernized" Chinese choices, with some inserts from other Asian cuisine, such as Vietnamese prawn rolls. I would go... again. More

Lovely restaurant in Moscow city centre, its quite large and is designed like ou are walking into your rich friends home. Lovely opulant interior, attentive staff, good prices and great food. I will visit this restaurant again.

We loved the food here. And the prices are not high. Their Singapore noodles with shrimps is very recommeded. It is a bit far from the center of the city but the place is worth visiting.

Classy ambience with equally classy service and food. excellent choice of wine. Good place for romantic dinner.

We were a large group, 9 people. Excellent interior and a very decent kitchen. Everything we tried were really good, as a tuna "Blue Fin" with vegetables. Great service. Some dishes are overpriced.

had a small birthday celebration for my wife. a place where you can be sure that the food is perfect and service is the best. It is especially good if you are looking for a classy and calm place in the centre of Moscow. One... of my favourites now! More

Very good food, quite expensive. dark lighting and elaborate furniture, very comfortable chairs. Service excellent.

Went on a Friday evening and easy found a table in this very cosy - homely even - place. The menu was a bit mixed and not only Chinese. Service was fine and attentive and the food ok. Could have wished for more attention to... the details from the kitchen-the tempura should have a a bit more time cooking etc. All in all a fine experience More

Overall an okay experience, a bit expensive restaurant, but the decor is nice and staff attentive. The problem is with the food which I found a bit lacking and not very authentic. The tastes were not as spicy and colourful as one would have expected... for Chinese/Asian cuisine. But a nice place to chill out with friends and you can simply sit and enjoy all of the different knicknacks thrown around the restaurant. I might return and I genuinely hope they'll turn the food up a notch. More
