As a young fan of hair metal myself, I’m often asked – “if you could go to that era and see any concert, what would it be?” Well I’ll tell you right now, it would absolutely be the Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour in 1991. WARRANT: 1991 Headlining Performance Released On DVD

WARRANT are currently selling a DVD of their 1991 headlining performance at the Cajun Dome in Lafayette, Louisiana. Entitled "Bootleg from the Bayou – Live 1991" , the DVD is described in the liner notes as "pure old-school WARRANT at its finest. Professionally recorded at the peak of their popularity during the 1991 sold-out headlining arena tour 'Blood Seat and Beers' at the Lafayette, LA Cajun Dome. You get a dose of all the hits that made them famous and then some… icing on the pie, so to speak! Take a first-hand look at the 85-city tour that took four semi-trailers, three buses, 30 crew members, 24768 beers, 172 bottles of Jose Cuervo and 85 bottles of Jack to rage and roll out nightly."

WARRANT entered the studio in February with producer/engineer Pat Regan ( KISS , TED NUGENT , DEEP PURPLE , MR. BIG and L.A. GUNS ) to begin recording their new album, tentatively due late summer. The as-yet-untitled CD is said to contain "the classic hard-rockin' WARRANT sound that we all want to hear. ( 'Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich' and 'Cherry Pie' with a new twist)."

WARRANT 's current line-up consists of original members Erik Turner (guitar), Jerry Dixon (bass), Joey Allen (lead guitar), Steven Sweet (drums) and new addition Jaime St. James (vocals, BLACK 'N BLUE ).

Warrant’s Erik Turner Talks About Playing Hannibal 30 Years Later

In the summer of 1991, Warrant, Firehouse and Trixter played the Hannibal Riverfront Amphitheater. Now, 30 years later, Erik Turner of Warrant remembers that tour and what everyone can expect when they return to the area for a show on Friday, July 23.

June 11, 1991 was the day when the Blood, Sweat and Beers tour landed in Hannibal . Guitarist Erik Turner of Warrant was kind enough to spend some time with us remembering those days and what the future holds for the band.

Erik remembered what life was like for Warrant right after they formed in 1984 and finally got their record deal in 1988.

Erik Turner - "Yeah, we built up quite a following in the Southern California area...we started in 1984 and built up a following in the clubs...we really had a great following before we had a song on the radio, before we had a record deal...We finally got signed in 1988. Felt like an eternity at the time and then our first album came out in 1989. We just caught the tail end of the 80's hair metal, glam rock, whatever...I call it party rock good time music era of the 80's."

It was the Blood, Sweat and Beers tour that Warrant was on when they landed in Hannibal in June of 1991. Erik remembered what that tour in support of the album "Cherry Pie" was all like.

Erik Turner - "It was great. For me, my personal memory of it...that was the one big headlining tour that we did...the Cherry Pie tour...it was like Christmas every day. We had pyro and explosions...lots of trucks and equipment and buses and 10's of thousands of people coming out to see us...it was like a dream come true...a 15-year-old Erik's dream coming true."

Robert Mason who played in Lynch Mob back in the late 1980's and early 90's is now the lead vocalist for Warrant. He took over after original vocalist Jani Lane left the group for the final time in 2008. Although Jani tragically passed away in 2011 , Erik has good memories of his time as they were buddies starting out trying to make it as a young band.

Erik Turner - "We had mostly great times with Jani. We started out together...couple of starving musicians in Hollywood...living in an apartment together...and having a great time together and putting a band together...having it turn into this multi-platinum deal and selling millions of records and traveling all over the world...the bad times are well-documented, but I'd prefer to remember all the good times."

I asked Erik about a rumor that he once auditioned for Megadeth. He said that's only partially true.

Erik Turner - "It wasn't a full blown audition. Dave Mustaine had just departed...or got kicked out of Metallica...he put an ad in The Recycler...I went to his place in Huntington Beach and he told me about the project he was putting together and that was as far as it went."

As far as future plans, Erik said that Warrant is focusing on concerts with maybe some new music in a year or two.

Erik Turner - "Right now we're just focusing on playing live and doing the best job we can with that...there's always those riffs floating around here and there...but no one has been inspired to really write any songs...maybe in 2022 we'll write some songs and it'll come out in '23 would be my best guess...hopefully."

WARRANT is excited to bring ROCK back to Paducah, KY! WARRANT is bringing their “Let The Good Times ROCK” Tour with special guest FireHouse .

At its core, WARRANT is an American rock band through and through. Hitting it big in 1989, the Hollywood, CA based band rose through the ranks of the local Sunset Strip scene to the level of multiplatinum selling, chart-topping success. The band first came into the national spotlight with their debut album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich. This album produced Radio and MTV chart toppers “Down Boys,” “Sometimes She Cries,” and the massive hit “Heaven” which reached #1 in Rolling Stone and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in a row. The single “Heaven” enjoyed Gold sales and the Album went Platinum in Canada as well, eventually selling over 3 million copies. The band toured the globe performing 262 shows in support of DRFSR and closed the year with a Platinum Home Video. WARRANT’s sophomore album Cherry Pie was released in September 1990. This album, which spawned the MTV & Radio hits “Cherry Pie,” “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” and “I Saw Red,” all reached the Top 10 in the United States and went on to sell 3 million copies, reaching Platinum sales in Canada and Australia. The band played 200 shows in support of Cherry Pie and finished the tour headlining sheds all over the USA and ended up being one of the top grossing tours of 1991. Over the course of their career, WARRANT has sold over 10 million albums worldwide. The song “Cherry Pie” has taken on a pop culture life of its own, being featured in countless movies, TV shows, commercials and the hugely popular video game Guitar Hero II. 

WARRANT's signature style of rock music is very catchy and yet very melodic and remains the band's signature sound today. In September 2008, Robert Mason replaced Jani Lane (RIP) as lead vocalist joining the other four original members, Jerry Dixon, Steven Sweet, Joey Allen and Erik Turner. Their current album Louder Harder Faster, released on Frontiers Records, has been highly regarded in reviews and embraced by fans.

WARRANT has been headlining festivals, casinos and fairs all over the country in support of their latest CD Louder Harder Faster and the 30-year anniversary of their debut album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich. The band is fired up and tighter than ever musically! These rockers can’t wait to play not only ALL the hits fans know & love, but also new tunes/videos like “Louder Harder Faster” & “I Think I Will Just Stay Here & Drink.” 

FireHouse has been rockin’ for over a decade. Their music has taken them all over the world and has produced Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum records in the United States and countries abroad.

In 1990, their first album, entitled FireHouse , was released. A string of hits. Including Shake & Tumble, Don’t Treat Me Bad, and Love Of A Lifetime vaulted their first album to double platinum status in the United States. At the 1991 American Music Awards, Firehouse found themselves standing before the nation accepting the award for Best New Hard Rock/Metal Band, chosen over Nirvana and Alice in Chains.
