Marvel Studios Offices Tour: A Behind-The-Scenes Look

marvel studios offices

A few years ago, Marvel Studios moved from their Manhattan Beach offices to the Walt Disney Studios lot. And yesterday, for the first time, Disney has opened the door to press. On Monday afternoon, I visited the new Marvel offices in Burbank. Here's what I saw.

marvel studios offices

The Marvel Studios offices are located on the second floor of the Frank G. Wells Building on the Walt Disney Studios lot. When you exit the elevators, you are greeted by a wall-to-wall mural featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy, and a big Marvel Studios logo.

Marvel Studios began in a tiny office in Santa Monica that they shared with a kite factory. After that, the company moved to an office above a Mercedes dealership in Beverly Hills. They were based out of Manhattan Beach Studios for a few years before Disney asked them to move onto the Burbank lot in 2014. But it wasn't until a few months ago that Marvel fully decorated their offices.

Across from the reception desk is a waiting area, positioned in front of a replica of the Iron Man gantry. This is probably the coolest waiting area I've ever seen in Hollywood, second only to Bad Robot's office in Santa Monica.

marvel studios offices

On the other side of the reception desk is a display of Gamora and Star Lords costumes from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 . While many of the displays in the offices are permanent, we were told that this costume display gets changed out on a regular basis probably to reflect the newest film release from the company. Unfortunately, this is where the photos end as Marvel doesn't allow any photos or video in any of their development areas.

Once you enter the actual offices, there is a gigantic wall-to-wall mural featuring concept art from Black Panther . The main communal area is lined with posters from all of the Marvel Studios films released thus far, each signed by most of the cast members. The area also features a bunch of cool displays, like a scale model of the Helicarrier that was made during the development of The Avengers .

Next to an Avengers pinball machine is a scale model of Disneyland's Main Street, complete with a working Disneyland Railroad train that circles the encased model. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is a huge Disneyland fanatic, and the model is part of his personal collection on display in the office. On the other side of the room is a ping pong ball table, where Marvel employees can play to let off some steam.

In the center of the communal area is a bunch of couches surrounding a television, complete with video games. On one side of the sofa sits an end table that has a replica of Thor's hammer on top of it. I tried to lift it and was deemed not worthy. In the middle of the coffee table, under glass, is a baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 .

Black Panther Suit Created by Visual Effects

It was here that we were shown a sizzle reel for Black Panther , one of the films Marvel is working on now. Here's the impression I got from the footage: this   looks very different than any other Marvel film released to date. I'm not just talking about the visuals or the technologically advanced setting, but the tone and weight o what we saw. They will finish shooting this week.

From there, we were guided through a hallway filled with huge blow-ups of behind-the-scenes photos from their films, some great on-set black and white photography. On the inner hallway of the second floor, we passed a number of conference rooms, each with the name of one of the big Marvel characters and featuring a floor to ceiling blow-up of concept art from that film. The Thor conference room features a mural of concept art featuring Thor fighting Hulk in the gladiator arena from the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok . Other conference rooms were themed after Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man and Hulk.

We didn't get to see  Kevin Feige 's office as it is filled with material that is confidential and probably covering the development of unannounced films. However, we were told that, as a joke one night, the Marvel Studios team replaced his furniture with some furniture from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 . Feige apparently decided to keep the furniture.

We passed an Iron Man Mark 1 armor replica, which was a bit shorter than the one in the movie. To its left is a display case featuring the top half of costumes and props of Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Ant-Man and Doctor Strange. In front of the Black Widow conference room is concept art showing Widow squaring off against a bunch of Ultrons from Avengers: Age of Ultron .

Around the corner is a massive long wall with a bookshelf filled with almost every available graphic novel and trade paperback. This is the library where Marvel Studios staff can quickly do some research for upcoming films. While the bookshelf isn't that tall, it does have a sliding ladder for those who want to reach books on the top shelves. Inside the bookshelf are a few props, including a stunt prop copy of the Eye of Agamotto from Doctor Strange and the Winter Soldier activation notebook from Captain America: Civil War .

Doctor Strange - Dormammu Alternate Design

A small kitchen area features a wall with floor-to-ceiling mural, depicting Doctor Strange's confrontation with Dormammu. The Marvel employees refer to the area as the Dormammu coffee shop.

We were then taken to the Visual Development Department, which is filled with cubicles with glass walls. Each cubicle decorated with cool Marvel memorabilia and art. The cubicles themselves are filled with artists working on concept art for future Marvel films. On the far side of the office is a couple closed door offices, including the office of artist Ryan Meinerding. His wall is filled with concept art for  Spider-Man: Homecoming and Black Panther . On a big monitor is a very revealing piece of concept art featuring Thanos in a purple suit wearing the completed Infinity Gauntlet. I asked about the alien-looking wreckage in the background of the art, but Meinerding told me he couldn't answer that question.

We moved on to the next office, which belongs to Marvel concept artist genius Andy Parks. If you've seen any of the cool concept art Marvel has released for their films; chances are high they were the work of this man. Also in the room is Peyton Reed, director of Ant-Man and the upcoming sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp . On the wall is concept art from that film and Captain Marvel , although the conversation seems to focus on Ant-Man and The Wasp since Reed is in the room.

Ant-Man Honest Trailer

One piece of concept art shows Ant-Man riding a mite-looking creature on a micro scale plane. Another piece shows Giant Man outside the Palace of Fine Arts, confirming that Paul Rudd's character will not only shrink but grow, and that the story returns to San Francisco. Another piece of art shows Ant-Man shrunk to the size of an action figure, holding a gigantic soda bottle, shooting carbonated liquid at businesspeople in an office. I'm not exactly sure what is happening there, but it looked interesting. Another piece of art shows a dog eating a truck and another shows Scott as Ant-Man holding on for his dear life on the front headlight of a cab. Another piece of concept art depicts Ant-Man and Wasp running away from what appears to be a swarm of giant flies.

On the right was some concept art of the new designs for Ant-Man and the Wasp's suits. Hope Van Dyne's Wasp costume is a muted yellow, with some blue and red accents and, of course, some metal features.

The Captain Marvel art shows some of the working ideas for the costume, which looks like what you'd expect. One piece of concept art shows Captain Marvel fighting two eight-to-ten-foot tall robots, something that may not even be in the film. While there isn't a director on the project yet, they still work on ideas that the filmmakers can choose from once hired.

Thor Ragnarok

From the art department, we went over to the Editorial VFX Screening Room down the hall. Marvel Studios has a few editing rooms, as well as some other post facilities elsewhere on the lot. All of the Marvel movies are edited in-house, except Spider-Man: Homecoming , which is being edited at Sony Pictures.

In the VFX screening room, director Taika Waititi is looking over some in-progress visual effects shots from his movie Thor: Ragnarok . It is here that Taika revealed that he is playing a character in Thor: Ragnarok named Korg, a Kronan who played a role in the Planet Hulk storyline from which this film borrows elements of its plot. You can read more about that here .

Black Panther Concept Art

Finally, we moved back down to the first floor, where Marvel has a larger screening room. In this room, producer  Louis D'esposito  was looking over some dailies from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Black Panther . He explained that they use the screening room to screen movies that may lead them to hire directors( like Jon Watts' Cop Car or Taika Waititi's Boy ) as well as production dailies, letting them give notes on visual effects shot revisions.

We were shown some raw dailies from Black Panther , which again, looks like no other Marvel movie I've seen before. We saw Lupita Nyong'o's character fight some bad guys in the jungle, stealthily taking a group of them down while the rest of the team doesn't notice. We also saw some shots on boats as the border tribes head to a coronation, dancing and chanting. We see one take of Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa, making an entrance by ascending downstairs into muddy water, looking up at cave wall filled with tribe members dancing and chanting. He dons a ceremonial strut before kneeling before them. We saw a car flip through a street fair, a scene where Andy Serkis, reprising his role as Klaw from Avengers: Age of Ultron , does a deal for Vibranium in a South Korean casino, and an action scene featuring Martin Freeman and Boseman working together. There's a briefcase in the mix...maybe filled with vibraniam?

We were then presented with a series of VFX revisions from Spider-Man: Homecoming . Jon Watts is currently scoring the film at Sony with Michael Giacchino so he couldn't be there. We saw a scene of Peter Parker in an alley unglamorously changing into the suit. The suit tightens up around his body, almost like Marty McFly Jr.'s future jacket in Back to the Future II . We also saw some selected clips of Peter Parker in his homemade Spider-Man suit in a plane fight and school bus fight sequence.

Donald Glover makes an appearance, where we see him handling a tech gun. While Marvel and Disney have been very vague about his role, it appears he is playing one of Vulture's henchmen. We were told that Glover is not in much of the film, but his character is excellent. We also saw some shots of Vulture flying and landing, as well as shots of Spider-Man on the top of the Washington monument. They still have 2,300 VFX shots to finish on this film. Before each review, a chart displays, showing a count of how many days and hours they have to complete each shot before each review.

Marvel's The Marvels opens at the top of the weekend box office, and let’s leave it at that

It's another win for marvel studios, though not exactly a big, exciting one.

The Marvels

It looks like Marvel Studios’ domination of the U.S. box office continues, with The Marvels —the latest entry in the MCU—opening in the number one spot. Of course… it did also manage to have the worst opening weekend in the history of the franchise, as predicted , with $47 million. Something had to have the worst opening in the franchise at some point, so maybe Marvel can look at this as a “rip the band-aid off” moment and not a “the sky is falling moment.”

The bright spot for Marvel in this, though, is that The Marvels made way more than everything else currently in theaters—suggesting that this may have also just been a particularly slow weekend for theaters. Last week’s winner Five Night’s At Freddy’s made $9 million ($127 million total), Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour movie made $5.9 million ($172 million total!), Priscilla expanded a little wider but made slightly less money than last week ($4.7 million this week, $12 million total), and Killers Of The Flower Moon continued a slight bummer of a run by making $4.6 million (it has $59 million total).

Outside of the top five, The Holdovers jumped way up (from 16 to six) with $3.2 million (the 700 additional screens will explain that), Jesus movie Journey To Bethlehem made $2.4 in its debut (opening a little early for the Jesus season, come on), and PAW Patrol , Radical , and The Exorcist: Believer finished up the top 10.

You can see the full top 10 again below, thanks to Box Office Mojo .

  • The Marvels
  • Five Nights At Freddy’s
  • Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour
  • Killers Of The Flower Moon

Atlanta’s marvel filming locations: visit attractions and scenes from the marvel cinematic universe.

By Tommy Stubblefield

Published July 20, 2021 Last Updated January 26, 2022

Atlanta is taking over Marvel movies. (Have you noticed all those yellow filming signs around town?) Although we’re still waiting for a superhero show set in ATL, plenty of Marvel’s sprawling universe of superhero movies and TV shows are filmed in Atlanta and the metro area – and you can visit many of them right now.

Sometimes we’re Lagos, sometimes we’re London, sometimes we exist outside of time and space. Here is a look at a few memorable scenes from Marvel TV shows and movies plus tips on where to find the filming locations in and around Atlanta.

‘Loki’

Note: spoilers ahead !

Although the only way to visit the Time Variance Authority in “Loki” is by committing a major time crime, you can have a stroll through the TVA’s lobby without manacles and an armed escort. The atrium of the Atlanta Marriott Marquis is a fairly mind-boggling feat of architecture, even without the statues of the Time Keepers. ( Source .) Since the hotel is one of the central locations of DragonCon , the annual convention’s cosplay fans may have recognized the elevator and been saddened that the infamous carpet was not featured. (Trust us, it’s a whole thing .)

Location: 265 Peachtree Center Ave. NE

You won’t find the Costco-like Roxxcart in Alabama. (Then again, this scene takes place about 30 years from the present, so who knows?) North DeKalb Mall in Decatur is open for business, though. Just keep an eye out for variants and their mind-controlled servants. ( Source .)

Location: 2050 Lawrenceville Highway, Decatur, Ga.

As a moon whose planet is breaking apart and showering the landscape with planet chunks, Lamentis-1 is decidedly not tourist-friendly in Marvel’s fiction. However, the rock quarry near Loganville where it was filmed is not experiencing a planet-scale catastrophe at press time. ( Source .)

Location: Good question — Where’s Loganville ?

‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’

A former train yard with a bit of cool graffiti and a lot of character sounds like a great place to slug it out with fictional bad guys (even if you, like Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, sympathize with their motives). Pratt-Pullman Yard appears more than once in the show ( Source .), and is currently hosting the highly regarded Van Gogh experience . The development is also home to hotels and apartments, as well as a slew of dining options and bars.

Location: Rogers Street NE, Atlanta, Ga.

The courtroom where John Walker, the acting Captain America, is grilled for his notorious and non-Captain-America-like actions was shot in DeKalb History Center Museum . ( Source .)

Location: 101 E Court Square, Decatur, Ga.

Atlanta’s own mini-metropolis of shopping and dining, Atlantic Station , is featured prominently in a showdown with the Flag Smashers. The parking deck where the action takes place may not be of great interest to you, but there is no shortage of scenery, retail therapy and dining to be had.

Location: 30363 (It has its own ZIP code.)

‘WandaVision’

Does that S.W.O.R.D. lobby look familiar? Visitors may recognize it from MomoCon or even peripheral fan events during Super Bowl LIII or any of a slew of conventions year-round. Yes, that’s the Georgia World Congress Center , which is huge and futuristic enough to house a fictional agency tinkering with powers best left, err, untinkered-with. ( Source .)

Location: 285 Andrew Young International Blvd. NW, Atlanta, Ga.

The S.W.O.R.D. base temporary retreat is in fact in Fairburn, Ga. ( source ). Not coincidentally, Fairburn also serves as the location of a familiar-looking medieval festival seen early in the “Loki” series. ( Source .)

Location: 9445 Browns Lake Road, Fairburn, Ga.

What’s Filming in Atlanta

Ultimate atlanta landmarks you must see, where to spot celebrities in atlanta, other locations you may recognize from marvel movies and shows, high museum of art.

The fictitious “Museum of Great Britain” where Killmonger gives a curator a lesson in art history, is actually Atlanta’s iconic High Museum of Art . ( Source .)

Location: 1280 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, Ga

Although its name sounds ominous and perhaps even super-villainous, the Gulch serves as the Lagos backdrop in “Captain America: Civil War,” kicking off a domino chain of major events for the Avengers and Wanda as well. While not an attraction per se, you may enjoy a selfie here of you chasing empowered criminals and/or casting hexes. While not strictly Marvel-related, you may also recognize the area in “The Walking Dead,” “Stranger Things” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.” ( Source , and other source .)

Porsche Experience Center

You might recognize the Porsche Experience Center as the campus where the “Avengers” super team sets up shop after moving out of Avengers Tower. It appears in “Captain America: Civil War,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Infinity War” and “Endgame.” It still is in pretty good shape despite being bombarded from low orbit and peppered with spaceship chunks, and you can visit and indulge your need for speed by test driving Porsches around the track. ( Source .)

Location: One Porsche Drive, Atlanta, Ga.

The Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attraction at Disneyland

The Walt Disney Company is giving its investors a sense of the massive profits it has made off of the Star Wars and Marvel universes since that studio and Lucasfilm became part of Disney — and it’s more than one can shake a lightsaber at.

In a presentation posted to the shareholder campaign website Vote Disney , the House of Mouse included highlights of its success with franchises as the company is waging a proxy fight with activist investor Nelson Peltz .

Disney+ is bringing a taylor swift takeover to its homepage, patty jenkins says she's back on 'star wars' movie 'rogue squadron'.

In 2012, Disney paid $4 billion for Lucasfilm, giving Disney ownership of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises.

In a timeline highlighting landmark Star Wars releases and projects since the acquisition, the investors presentation cites the opening of the Star Tours Adventures Continue at its theme parks, the release of three Star Wars movies from 2015-2019, Disney+’s franchise series The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor and Ahsoka from 2019-2023 and three untitled films anticipated for release from 2026 to 2029.

In the filing, Disney suggests that Lucasfilm has generated nearly $12 billion in value to the company.

For Marvel, which it bought in 2009 for $4 billion, Disney cites all four Avengers movies and the Avengers Campus Marvel Cinematic Universe–themed areas that opened at Disney’s California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. The four blockbuster movies occupy four of the top 15 slots on the list of top lifetime box office grosses.

Marvel has generated some $13.2 billion in value to Disney, per the presentation.

Disney also notes this does not include derivative revenue streams, such as park attractions, nor does it include originals associated with those franchises or pre-established franchise consumer products revenue. By investment, the figure reflects film production costs, print and advertising associated with theatrical releases. It does not include additional distribution costs or overhead.

While the company’s forays into these franchises have received mixed responses from their devoted fans, the financial success they’ve brought likely means there is much more to come. Two more seasons of Disney’s live-action Star Wars series, The Acolyte and Andor , will debut this year and in 2025 while two Untitled Star Wars movies are coming, with one focusing on Daisy Ridley’s Rey character and another, titled The Mandalorian & Grogu, taking the Mandalorian series to the big screen.

That film’s star, Pedro Pascal will leap over to Marvel with a reboot of The Fantastic Four , one of the studio’s upcoming releases as it fights off superhero fatigue. The next outing of its all-star gaggle of crime fighters will come in 2026 with The Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2026 — one of at least 20 more projects it has coming by the end of 2027.

“Nelson Peltz has a long history of attacking companies to the ultimate detriment of shareholder value,” the narrator of the three-minute video states. As is reflected in the presentation, the video emphasized the fact that Peltz has no experience running a global media company.

In a recent letter to Disney shareholders , Peltz’s Trian Fund Management says that the company can’t afford another “boom or bust sequel” to three years of negative performance in the stock market. Noting that company stock is up in 2024’s first quarter, the hedge fund’s letter casts doubt on Disney’s ability to deliver or sustain momentum from the announcements made on its strategic plan while patting Peltz’s back for the war he’s waging on Disney.

“Without the pressure of our proxy contest pushing Disney to perform,” the letter reads, “it is unclear if the ‘announcements’ would have been made.”

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Concert Film: How to Watch and What to Know

The flick promises new acoustic performances and previously deleted songs from Swift's other versions of the film.

marvel studios office tour

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert film has officially landed on Disney Plus. In anticipation of the Thursday night release, Swift had dropped an early preview of her new performance of Cardigan and announced the names of the other new acoustic performances leading up to the release.

In celebration of the release, Disney Plus' home page has gotten a very Taylor Swift makeover. As of Friday afternoon, Disney Plus has curated nine categories based on Swifts' eras (notably, the singer's debut era was left out). For example, one of the brand new categories is Reputation (Disney's Version) and features the films Cruella, Avengers Endgame and The Empire Strikes Back.

The first version of the Eras Tour movie hit theaters late last year, and became the  highest-grossing concert film  ever, as reported by Variety. Then it was available to rent on demand. Now Disney Plus' version of the film promises new performances, and says goodbye to some fan favorites.

Are you ready for it ? If not, we've got you covered. Here's everything we know about the new concert film, how to watch Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), and why a VPN might be a useful tool for streaming.

Read more:   Watch Taylor Swift's Exclusive Eras Tour Clip a Day Early on Apple's App Store

What's new in the Disney Plus version of the film?

Disney Plus' version of the flick will feature Swift's performance of Cardigan, which was previously cut from the theatrical release of the movie, and four additional acoustic songs. You can check out a preview of the Cardigan performance here , in an exclusive early clip on Apple's App Store. Swift had also released the names of the four new acoustic performances leading up to Thursday's release on ABC's  Good Morning America (also owned by Disney). Now that the film has officially dropped, we know that the four acoustic songs featured in the Disney Plus version of the film are I Can See You, Death By A Thousand Cuts, You Are in Love and Maroon (which is accompanied by another performance of You're On Your Own Kid). It's important to note that these songs are included at the end of the film, after the credits.

Swift  recorded  six acoustic songs during filming in August, and the performances of Our Song and You're on Your Own, Kid made both the theatrical and on-demand rental versions of the film. Now, all six performances have found their way into the concert flick, which is an extra treat for super fans like ourselves.

Songs excluded from the Disney Plus cut of the movie include Long Live, The Archer, Wildest Dreams and No Body, No Crime.

Taylor swift performing with her dancers at her eras tour

The Eras Tour concert film hits streaming on March 14.

Disney Plus is already home to another Swift exclusive,  Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions , a series that chronicles the making of her 2020 album Folklore. Swift's other documentaries and concert films have been available sporadically on various streaming services, including  Netflix  and Prime Video.

Release time for the Eras Tour film in the US and abroad

The film will land on Disney Plus on Thursday, March 14 at 6 p.m. PT (9 p.m. ET)  in all territories except Turkey, where it will be released on April 3. Swift announced that the film would be available earlier on Monday, along with a new trailer.

Pricing for Disney Plus starts at $8 per month in the US, but if you live in Canada, the platform costs CA$12 a month. UK fans can get the service for either £5 with ads, or £8 a month without ads. You can subscribe for a year and save 16%. In Australia, fans get Disney Plus for AU$14 per month.

Disney Plus

Carries the eras tour (taylor's version).

Disney Plus is the one-stop streaming location for the company's streaming catalog. Subscribers can stream Disney classics, Marvel Studios movies and TV shows and all new Star Wars content.

In the US, Disney Plus' Basic plan will set you back $8 a month, and the Premium plan costs $14 a month or $140 a year.

Disney Plus will serve as the exclusive streaming home for The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), so if you want to stream the flick, you'll need to sign up for the service.

How to stream the film using a VPN

Perhaps you're traveling abroad and want to stream The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) while away from home. With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the movie from anywhere in the world. There are other good reasons to use a VPN for streaming, too.

A VPN is the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic. Using a VPN is also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins. Streaming TV can be a bit smoother with a reliable, quality VPN that's passed our tests and security standards.

You can use a VPN to stream content legally as long as VPNs are legal in your country and you have a valid subscription to the streaming service you're using. The US and Canada are among the countries where VPNs are legal, but we advise against streaming or downloading content on illegal torrent sites. We recommend ExpressVPN, but you may opt for another provider from our best list such as Surfshark or NordVPN .

Express VPN

Best vpn for streaming.

ExpressVPN is CNET's current best VPN pick . You can sign up for ExpressVPN and save 49% plus get three months of access for free — the equivalent of $6.67 a month — if you get the annual subscription. Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Follow the VPN provider's instructions for installation and choose a country where The Eras Tour movie is streaming on Disney Plus. Before you open the streaming app, make sure you're connected to your VPN using your selected region. If you want to stream The Eras Tour film on more than one device, you may need to configure each one to ensure you are signed in. Go to settings and check your network connections to verify you're logged in and connected to your VPN account. Now you're ready to open Disney Plus to stream.

If you run into issues with streaming, first make sure your VPN is up and running on its encrypted IP address. Double-check that you've followed installation instructions correctly and you've picked the right geographical area for viewing. If you still encounter connection problems, you may need to reboot your device. Close all apps and windows, restart your device and connect to your VPN first. Note that some streaming services have restrictions on VPN access.

Correction, Feb. 9 : An earlier version of this story misstated the number of Taylor Swift's studio albums. The Tortured Poets Department, set for release in April, will be her 11th studio album.

The Marvels star Iman Vellani gives promising update on her MCU future

Is Ms Marvel still a part of Kevin Feige's plans?

preview for Deadpool & Wolverine teaser (Marvel Studios)

The young superhero first appeared in her titular Disney+ TV series before making the leap to the big screen with The Marvels .

Although the film ended with a tease of Ms Marvel starting to assemble her Young Avengers by recruiting Kate Bishop/the second Hawkeye, it didn't do well at the box office, and we're sure some fans are worried that Marvel might just drop the idea and move on.

Speaking to Polygon , Vellani said that she has been told she is still very much involved in the franchise's future.

"I have been assured," she said. "So that feels good, but there was no more assurance than that. They give me breadcrumbs, and I try and make a meal out of it."

Meanwhile, if Ms Marvel gets a second season, the star has an idea of who she would like to be the villain .

Vellani recently responded to the underperformance of The Marvels , stating that worrying about the numbers is a job for a Disney CEO, not an actress.

iman vellani, matthew lintz, ms marvel

"I don't want to focus on something that's not even in my control, because what's the point? That's for Bob Iger ," she said.

"I'm happy with the finished product, and the people that I care about enjoyed the film. It's genuinely a good time watching this movie, and that's all we can ask for with these films.

"It has superheroes, it takes place in space, it's not that deep and it's about teamwork and sisterhood. It's a fun movie, and I'm just so happy that I can share it with people."

The Marvels and Ms Marvel are streaming on Disney+ .

The tentpoles have generated $13.2 billion and $11.6 billion in value, respectively, since their $4 billion acquisitions in 2009 and 2012

Avengers Endgame

Disney has offered a glimpse at just how profitable its franchises are as its proxy battle with activist investors Trian Fund Management and Blackwells Capital heats up.

In a presentation released this week , the House of Mouse revealed that it has seen a 9.9 times return on investment on “Frozen,” a 5.5 times ROI on “Toy Story,” a 3.3 times ROI on Marvel’s “Avengers” and a 2.9 times ROI on “Star Wars.”

Per the filing, Disney suggests that Marvel and Star Wars have generated $13.2 billion and $11.6 billion in value, respectively, since their $4 billion acquisitions in 2009 and 2012.

Nelson Peltz and guests attends Day 4 of American Express Presents CARBONE Beach

The return on investment figures, which were pulled from the company’s data, reflect the ratio between revenue and investment on titles released following Disney’s acquisition of the IP.

The revenue reflects the aggregate 10-year revenue streams, both generated and expected, directly associated with theatrical releases, including theatrical, home entertainment, TV (pay and free), and consumer products. It does not include derivative revenue streams, such as park attractions, nor does it include DTC originals associated with those franchises or pre-established franchise consumer products revenue.

Investment reflects film production costs and print & advertising associated with the theatrical release of the titles, and in the case of animated titles it also includes production overhead. It does not include any additional distribution costs or overhead.

Disney Diane Jurgens

In a timeline highlighting major milestones, Disney cites the releases of “Frozen” “Frozen 2,” “Once Upon a Snowman” and “Olaf Presents.” It also includes the openings of For the First Time in Forever and Frozen Ever After at Walt Disney World, Frozen – Live at the Hyperion at Disneyland, World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland and Frozen Kingdom at Tokyo Disneyland.

For Toy Story, the timeline includes the releases of its four Toy Story films, “Lightyear,” NFL Alt-Cast, and the openings of Space Ranger Spin at Walt Disney World, Toy Story Midway Mania at WDW and Disneyland, Jessie’s Critter Carousel at Disneyland, and Toy Story Land at WDW, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland.

For Marvel, Disney cites all four “Avengers” movies and the openings of Avengers Campus at Disney’s California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris.

For Star Wars, it notes the openings of Star Tours, Star Tours: the Adventure Continues and Galaxy’s Edge, the releases of the original, prequel and sequel trilogies, “The Mandalorian,” “the Book of Boba Fett,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” “Andor,” “Ahsoka” and the upcoming release of three untitled films in 2026 and 2027

Trian Fund Management has nominated its co-founder Nelson Peltz and former Disney chief financial officer Jay Rasulo and Blackwells Capital has nominated former Warner Bros. and NBCUniversal executive Jessica Schell, Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Craig Hatkoff and TaskRabbit founder Leah Solivan to stand election at Disney’s annual shareholder meeting on April 3.

Shareholders of record as of the close of business on Feb. 5 will be entitled to vote at the meeting. Disney has approximately 1.8 billion outstanding shares, per its latest proxy filing.

Disney shares have climbed 20.4% in the past year, 23.6% year to date and 31% in the past six months.

Outside of the top five, The Holdovers jumped way up (from 16 to six) with $3.2 million (the 700 additional screens will explain that), Jesus movie Journey To Bethlehem made $2.4 in its debut (opening a little early for the Jesus season, come on), and PAW Patrol, Radical , and The Exorcist: Believer finished up the top 10.
