round trip dallas to orlando

With so many flights, customers find low fares to Orlando, Las Vegas. Will it last?

If you haven't checked flight prices to Orlando or Las Vegas recently, it may be a good time to take a look.

For all the headaches about surging fares in 2022, average airfare to many destinations has ticked downward over the last year.

In fact, it's been downright cheap to fly to some of the most popular leisure destinations in North America.

Want more airline-specific news? Sign up for TPG's free biweekly Aviation newsletter .

Stiff competition among airlines has fueled flight deals and fare battles, dropping ticket prices for travelers on their way to Walt Disney World or Las Vegas' world-famous resorts and casinos.

That said, it's also proved a pesky hurdle for carriers trying to turn a profit. It's even inspired a wave of changes in where some airlines plan to fly in 2024.

Cheap Orlando and Las Vegas flights

Search Google Flights , and you'll find no shortage of great deals to Orlando International Airport (MCO), particularly if you're willing to fly with a budget airline.

For example, a May round-trip itinerary from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) to Orlando costs only $38. Yes, that's the round-trip price.

Sure, you'll pay more than that if you want to, say, pick a seat or bring anything more than a backpack on board, but at an average of $19 each way, it's about as low a base fare as you'll ever find.

Even this $68 round-trip itinerary from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is a relative steal.

It's not just the ultra-low-cost carriers, either. Some travelers have also encountered surprisingly low fares on some of the so-called Big Three legacy carriers: American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines.

"In September and October, we saw prices for both Vegas and Orlando on legacy carriers get pretty low. Think Los Angeles to Vegas for only $58," said Katy Nastro, a spokesperson for Going , which tracks airfare globally.

Ultimately, the big downward driver for fares is surging supply (i.e., lots of extra seats across a boatload of added flights) to Orlando and other popular leisure destinations.

Those types of destinations are an integral part of the largest airlines' networks, but they're an absolute hallmark for the low-cost carriers. This surge in capacity (and competition) has some airlines adjusting their approach heading into the latter half of 2024.

Unprecedented spike in seats

Here's a sense of how much busier things have gotten at some of these airports.

On domestic flights to Orlando in 2023, airlines offered 22% more seats than before the coronavirus pandemic in 2019, according to data from aviation analytics firm Cirium.

Compared to 2013, a decade earlier, domestic seats to Orlando were up nearly 70%, far eclipsing overall nationwide domestic seat growth, which was, itself, up a quite robust 24% during that time.

Orlando isn't the only city experiencing this noticeable uptick in available seats.

In 2023, seats on domestic flights to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas were up 20% versus 2019, Cirium data shows.

Additionally, airlines flew from the U.S. to Cancun International Airport (CUN) in Mexico with 47% more seats in 2023 versus 2019.

A hurdle for airlines

As enticing as these plentiful flights and low fares are for travelers, it's been far less welcome news for airlines.

A recent report from TD Cowen described the late 2023 landscape as a classic case of "overcapacity." This pushed fares down as airlines descended into a pitched competition against each other to try and fill an ever-growing number of seats to these popular leisure destinations.

Some in the industry acknowledged things may have gotten out of hand.

"There are only so many seats Florida, Cancun or Vegas can support over such a short period of time," United's chief commercial officer Andrew Nocella said on an October earnings call during which company executives lambasted the strategy of budget carriers .

The thing is, adding more and more flights to the likes of Orlando and Vegas has traditionally worked, according to Brett Snyder, analyst and president of the Cranky Flier aviation site and the Cranky Concierge travel service.

"Demand is strong, historically, to Orlando. And they figure, 'Let's put more in here and see what happens,'" Snyder explained.

But, more recently?

"It did not go well," he said. "Effectively, they put too much capacity in and they were scrambling to try to figure out how to fill those seats."

In a recent analysis , Snyder noted just how much base fares to Orlando dropped in late 2023 — as much as 20% on some carriers like Frontier Airlines.

"Fares going down — that's good news for consumers," Snyder said. "But it's not sustainable for the airlines, so now they're pulling it all back."

Big changes in 2024

Frontier, for its part, is making swift changes in 2024.

Since January, the airline has embarked on a major network shake-up . It has added and cut dozens of routes, shifting some of its attention away from prime leisure destinations to major hub airports in cities like Dallas, Chicago, New York, Atlanta and Charlotte.

It's a strategy meant to entice a different type of leisure traveler — one that might be willing to pay a bit more for a ticket, CEO Barry Biffle said on the company's most recent earnings call in February.

Specifically, Frontier is hoping to woo travelers flying to bigger cities to, say, visit their parents or see friends from college. It's even trying to pick up some business travelers along the way.

The ultimate goal is to become less reliant on the low-fare, "low-margin" flying that, Biffle acknowledged, made it difficult to turn a profit in recent months in places like Orlando and Las Vegas.

"Both markets have experienced rapid and disproportionate growth compared to 2019 when demand and capacity were far more balanced," Biffle told analysts. "Our network growth in 2024 is focused on exploiting higher-fare, 'visiting friends and relative' markets."

Growth slowing in coming months

Amid those changes by Frontier and others, Orlando is seeing some of its meteoric growth slow down over the coming months.

In the second quarter of 2024, the number of seats on domestic flights to Orlando will grow by less than one percent versus 2023, Cirium data shows, after growing 16% a year earlier.

Across Florida, seats in the second quarter of 2023 were up by nearly 25% versus pre-pandemic 2019. They'll be up by a far more modest 6% in the second quarter, year over year.

Seats will grow at a similarly slower pace to Las Vegas. They'll be down by about 3% year over year in the coming months to Cancun as well (though airlines will launch service to the newly opened airport in nearby Tulum on March 28).

Will airfare rise in 2024?

With airlines pumping the brakes on capacity growth to traditional leisure markets, could fares climb again?

That's still a bit unclear.

So many travelers are still interested in flying overseas almost year-round, leading to continued competition to fill seats closer to home. That could keep lower fares around.

Spring break flights to Mexico and Central America were down 11% versus last year, booking app Hopper said in a recent report . Flights to the Caribbean were also down 9% versus 2023.

That trend could continue.

"We may see weak domestic demand on some leisure routes, similar to the end of 2023, [which means] flights could get even more affordable," Nastro said.

The other possibility?

"If everyone cuts back on flights to specific places, that could make flights get more expensive," she added. "Unlikely, but technically possible."

Planning flights in 2024

With all of this in mind, here are some things to consider when booking trips in 2024.

It's a great time to fly to Orlando or Las Vegas

If a trip to Universal Orlando , Walt Disney World or the Las Vegas Strip has been on your radar, 2024 could be a great year to visit. Given current airfare — not to mention flight options — the price may not be the hurdle that it once was.

With a ton of capacity to these cities, the competition that's frustrated airlines means you should be able to find a good deal, as long as you're not hoping to fly on a peak travel day .

Travel midweek for the lowest fares

Since last fall, we've seen airlines run numerous promotions and sales, often offering the steepest discounts for midweek travel when the crowds are thinnest.

American Airlines just put half a million seats on sale for 5,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles one-way. The biggest rule of this spring break sale : You have to fly on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday.

Even when there's no official discount on the books, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are great days to find cheap airfare .

After all, consider this: 2023 brought seven of the 10 busiest days ever at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints. All seven of those days fell on a Friday or Sunday.

To that end, avoiding the peak leisure travel days of Friday and Sunday is key when it comes to the price you pay.

Consider a budget airline

Even if you don't typically fly with budget carriers, it may be something to consider if you're traveling to one of these destinations in 2024.

Despite capacity shifts by some airlines, there are still many seats to these destinations available, driving prices down to ultra-cheap levels, in some cases.

Sure, you may spend quite a bit more on ancillary fees for "extras" like baggage and seat selection, but if you can consolidate bags and limit the number of seats you need to select in advance, you might be able to keep the air travel portion of your trip budget low.

Book sooner rather than later

One of the biggest rules of booking airfare: Get the fares while they're low.

If you book now, any future upward momentum for airfare won't affect you.

See a great deal on a flight six, seven or eight months down the road? Go ahead and book it now if your plans are set.

That's especially true if you're booking a main cabin ticket on one of the larger network carriers. If you book and later find a great deal, you can generally cancel it, rebook and keep the difference in flight credit. (Note: This typically does not apply to budget airlines or basic economy tickets.)

Also, don't forget about award tickets. If you find a great mileage deal, book it and then change your mind, you can generally cancel and get your miles back.

A ship with Gaza aid is preparing to inaugurate a sea route from Cyprus to the war-ravaged strip

A ship bearing humanitarian aid was making preparations to leave Cyprus and head for Gaza, the European Commission president said Friday as international donors launched a sea corridor to supply the besieged territory that is facing widespread hunger after  five months of war .

What You Need To Know

The opening of the corridor, along with the recent inauguration of airdrops of aid, showed increasing frustration  with the humanitarian crisis in gaza  and a new international willingness to work around israeli restrictions the vessel belonging to spain’s open arms aid group will make a pilot voyage to test the corridor in the coming days, ursula von der leyen told reporters in cyprus, where she's inspecting preparations for it the european union, together with the united states, the united arab emirates and other involved countries were launching the sea route in response to the “humanitarian catastrophe” unfolding in gaza, von der leyen said at a news conference with cypriot president nikos christodoulides open arms founder oscar camps told the associated press the ship is scheduled to depart saturday and would take two to three days to arrive at an undisclosed location where the group world central kitchen is constructing a pier to receive it. the group has 60 food kitchens throughout gaza to distribute aid, he said.

The opening of the corridor, along with the recent inauguration of airdrops of aid, showed increasing frustration  with the humanitarian crisis in Gaza  and a new international willingness to work around Israeli restrictions.

The vessel belonging to Spain’s Open Arms aid group will make a pilot voyage to test the corridor in the coming days, Ursula von der Leyen told reporters in Cyprus, where she's inspecting preparations for it. The ship has been waiting at Cyprus’s port of Larnaca for permission to deliver food aid from World Central Kitchen, a U.S. charity founded by celebrity chef José Andrés.

Israel said Friday it welcomed the maritime corridor, but cautioned it would also need security checks.

“The Cypriot initiative will allow the increase of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, after a security check according to Israeli standards,” Lior Haiat, spokesperson for Israel’s foreign ministry, said on X, formerly Twitter.

The European Union, together with the United States, the United Arab Emirates and other involved countries were launching the sea route in response to the “humanitarian catastrophe” unfolding in Gaza, Von der Leyen said at a news conference with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides.

“The humanitarian situation in Gaza is dire, with innocent Palestinian families and children desperate for basic needs," she said.

Open Arms founder Oscar Camps told The Associated Press the ship is scheduled to depart Saturday and would take two to three days to arrive at an undisclosed location where the group World Central Kitchen is constructing a pier to receive it. The group has 60 food kitchens throughout Gaza to distribute aid, he said.

The ship will pull a barge loaded with 200 tons of rice and flour close to the Gaza shore, he said. Pontoon boats will then be used for the complicated final leg to tow the barge up to the pier.

Camps said his group has been planning the delivery for two months, long before the EU Commission chief declared the launch of the safe corridor. He said he's not as concerned about the security of the ship as “about the security and lives of the people who are in Gaza.”

“I don’t know if nations plan to do something bigger, but we are doing everything we can" with the group's 3 million euros budget from private donations, Camps said.

In Brussels, commission spokesman Balazs Ujvari said the Open Arms ship's direct route to Gaza raises a number of “logistical problems" which are still being worked out. He said United Nations agencies and the Red Cross will also play a role.

Efforts to set up a sea route for aid deliveries come amid mounting alarm over the spread of hunger among Gaza’s 2.3 million people. Hunger is  most acute in northern Gaza , which has been isolated by Israeli forces for months and suffered long cutoffs of food supply deliveries.

On Thursday, President Joe Biden announced a plan to build a temporary pier in Gaza to help deliver aid, underscoring how the U.S. has to go around Israel, its main Mideast ally and the top recipient of U.S. military aid, to deliver aid to Gaza, including through  airdrops that started last week . Israel accuses Hamas of commandeering some aid deliveries.

Aid officials have said that deliveries by sea and by air are far more costly and inefficient than sending trucks by land in getting the massive amounts of aid needed to people.

Five people in Gaza were killed and several others were injured when airdrops malfunctioned Friday and hit people and landed on homes, Palestinian officials said.

After months of warnings over the risk of famine in Gaza under Israel’s bombardment, offensives and siege, hospital doctors have  reported 20 malnutrition-related deaths  at two northern Gaza hospitals.

While reiterating his support for Israel, Biden used his  State of the Union speech  to reiterate demands that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allow in more aid to Gaza.

“To the leadership of Israel, I say this: Humanitarian assistance cannot be a secondary consideration or a bargaining chip,” Biden declared before Congress. He also repeated calls for Israel to do more to protect civilians in the fighting, and to work toward Palestinian statehood as the only long-term solution to Israeli-Palestinian violence.

United States officials said it will likely be weeks before the Gaza pier is operational.

Aid groups have said  their efforts to deliver desperately needed supplies to Gaza  have been hampered because of the difficulty of coordinating with the Israeli military, the ongoing hostilities and the breakdown of public order.  It is even more difficult  to get aid to the isolated north.

Sigrid Kaag, the U.N. senior humanitarian and reconstruction coordinator for Gaza, told reporters late Thursday that air and sea deliveries cannot make up for a shortage of supply routes on land.

Von der Leyen said the EU would continue exploring different ways of getting aid to Gaza. She said the bloc would consider "all other options, including airdrops, if our humanitarian partners on the ground consider this effective."

Meanwhile, efforts to reach a cease-fire before Ramadan appeared stalled. Hamas said Thursday that its delegation had left Cairo, where talks were being held, until next week.

International mediators had hoped to alleviate some of the immediate crisis with a six-week cease-fire, which would have seen Hamas release some of the Israeli hostages it is holding, Israel release some Palestinian prisoners and aid groups be given access to get a major influx of assistance into Gaza.

Palestinian militants are believed to be holding around 100 hostages and the remains of 30 others captured during  Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack , in which militants killed about 1,200 people in Israel and took some 250 hostages. Several dozen hostages were freed in a weeklong November truce, and about 30 are believed to be dead.

Gaza’s Health Ministry  says at least 30,878 Palestinians have been killed. It does not differentiate between civilians and combatants in its tallies but says women and children make up two-thirds of those killed. The ministry, which is part of the Hamas-run government, maintains detailed records and its casualty figures from previous wars have largely matched those of the U.N. and independent experts.

Egyptian officials said Hamas has agreed to the main terms of such an agreement as a first stage but wants commitments that it will lead to an eventual  more permanent cease-fire , while Israel wants to confine the negotiations to the more limited agreement.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the negotiations with media. Both officials said mediators are still pressing the two parties to soften their positions.

Players Championship analysis: Notes to know on Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, more

Players Championship analysis: Notes to know on Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, more

Entering last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, there had not been a winner on the PGA Tour in 2024 with shorter pre-tournament odds than 40-1.

After Scottie Scheffler authored a dominant Sunday in Orlando, many of the best in the world followed his lead Thursday at TPC Sawgrass.

Three competitors in last year’s Ryder Cup – Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy and Wyndham Clark – share the lead after Day 1 with nine players still to complete their round. Numerous world-class players are within striking distance, including Scheffler after a seemingly effortless 67.

Here are the top notes to know from Day 1 of the 2024 Players Championship:

1. About the only thing Rory McIlroy has been wildly successful at on the PGA Tour so far in 2024 is pummeling his driver. In the limited spring sample, McIlroy has struggled some on the greens (129th in strokes gained putting), a familiar discussion point throughout this career. The more surprising issue has been with his irons: After ranking in the top 10 on tour last season in strokes gained approach per round, McIlroy headed to TPC Sawgrass outside the top 150 in that metric this year.

All that changed on Thursday. McIlroy was dialed in with his irons, ranking second in the field on Day 1 in strokes gained approach. He was able to pay that off in surplus, leading the tournament in putting. McIlroy has had nearly 700 rounds on the PGA Tour measured by ShotLink. It’s just the third time he has gained three or more strokes with both his approach play and on the greens.

McIlroy’s 10 birdies in Round 1 tie the record for most in a single round at Sawgrass. He made six birdies in his first eight holes, the first time he has done that to begin a tournament in his PGA Tour career.

2. Xander Schauffele shares the lead after Thursday thanks to his first career bogey-free trip around TPC Sawgrass. After gaining just over three-tenths of a stroke per round with his approach play in his career here, Schauffele led all players on Thursday in that statistic, picking up more than 3.5 shots.

Schauffele’s form bests most of his PIP-receiving peers so far in ’24: he has four top-10 finishes and sits in the top 20 currently in scoring average. But the San Diego State product has not found the winner’s circle on tour since July of 2022 at the Scottish Open. Over the last two PGA Tour seasons, Schauffele has finished in the top 10 15 times, four more than any other player without a victory in that span.

3. Wyndham Clark, among the most consistent players in the sport during the last year, rounds out the group of tri-leaders. In our preview , we mused that Clark’s previous form at Sawgrass probably didn’t mean much. Through one day that’s come to fruition, as Clark bettered his previous career-low round at The Players by four shots.

After ranking third in the field Thursday in strokes gained putting, Clark continues to build a justified reputation as a player who can get scorching-hot on the greens. Thursday marked the ninth time in the last two PGA Tour seasons Clark has gained three or more strokes on the field putting. Only Taylor Montgomery has more such rounds in that stretch (10).

4. The inevitability of Scottie Scheffler hovers over Ponte Vedra Beach on Thursday evening. The defending champ strolled to a round of 67, rarely looking like his heart rate rose to the high double-digits. When the first round concludes Friday morning, it will be the 108th time in the last three PGA Tour seasons Scherrler has been in the top 10 following a round. That’s 34 more than anyone else in that span.

Scheffler didn’t have his best day in terms of proximity to the hole but found the green in regulation 15 times on Thursday. Since the beginning of the 2022 season, Scheffler has hit 15 or more G.I.R. in 33 percent of his rounds played. The rest of the PGA Tour has done that 14.1 percent of the time in that same span.

Maybe the most ominous trend for the field on Day 1 was Scheffler’s continued success on the greens. Entering last week’s final round at Bay Hill, Scheffler had averaged 4.5 missed putts per round from 15 feet and in. He’s now 41-of-42 inside 15 feet in his last 36 competitive holes played. Scheffler has now gained strokes on the field putting in each of his last four rounds.

5. A pair of recent national open champions share fourth place, each 6-under. Last year, Nick Taylor ended a near-seven-decade drought of Canadian players winning their home Open by making a 72-footer to win a playoff. Taylor flashed every facet of his world-class game Thursday, gaining strokes on the field in every category in a bogey-free round of 66.

Two summers ago at Brookline, Matt Fitzpatrick broke through with his first major victory, joining Jack Nicklaus as the only player to win the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Open at the same venue. The Englishman could be rediscovering the elite ball-striking form of that summer, as he led all players in strokes gained off the tee Thursday. Fitzpatrick has just one top-10 finish in seven previous career trips to TPC Sawgrass.

6. Tom Hoge’s presence on the first page of the leaderboard won’t be taken lightly by some of the more decorated names around him. After all, Hoge’s 67 Thursday makes him 21-under-par in his last four rounds at TPC Sawgrass, a stretch that included the only 62 in this championship’s history. Hoge, the PGA Tour’s leader this season in strokes gained approach per round, racked up more than three shots on the field with his irons Thursday. Over the last three PGA Tour seasons, the TCU product has had 18 rounds where he gained at least three strokes with his approach play, five more than anyone else in that span (Scheffler, 13).

round trip dallas to orlando

7. New Zealander Ryan Fox made Players Championship history on Thursday, going 3-1 on holes 16 and 17. Not only is he the first in Players history to make eagle on both of those holes in the same round, it’s the first instance of anyone making back-to-back eagles anywhere in a round since The Players moved to TPC Sawgrass in 1982.

Later in the day, Chris Kirk found dry land with his tee ball at 17 for the 40th time in his Players Championship career. Kirk is now one shy of Jason Dufner for most career times playing the 17th without a single ball in the water since it started being tracked more than 20 years ago.

8. Scores on Day 1 were relatively low, but nothing that rewrote the TPC Sawgrass record books. The field averaged 71.53 (with nine players yet to finish), on pace for the lowest Round 1 since 2016. In addition to ’16, five other opening rounds at TPC Sawgrass yielded scoring averages lower than what we saw Thursday.

The 18th was the most difficult on the course at nearly three-tenths of a stroke over par. That’s a bit gentler than recent years – it played to an average of 4.35 in 2023 in both the first round and for the week. Only 10 balls found the water at 17 on Thursday, on pace for the fewest in the opening round in eight years.

9. Each of the last three winners here has been at least three back after Round 1. Among the large group at 4-under is Max Homa, who has seemingly found something on the greens at TPC Sawgrass. In his first 10 career rounds at The Players, Homa made only 43 percent of his putts from five to 10 feet and lost on average 0.37 strokes per round putting. Thursday, he was 4-of-5 from that range, picking up nearly three shots on the field.

10. Since 1990, two-thirds of eventual Players Championship winners have been inside the top 10 after the opening round. The first-round scoring average of the last 15 Players winners is a stout 67.5. The only player to win at TPC Sawgrass after recording a first-round score worse than par was Hal Sutton, all the way back in 1983.

Federal officials say they're investigating a tire problem on an American Airlines flight to LA

Associated Press

FORT WORTH, Texas – Federal officials are investigating an incident in which an American Airlines plane flying from Dallas to Los Angeles suffered a tire problem, just a week after a United Airlines jetliner lost a tire during takeoff.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday that preliminary information indicated that American flight 345 “blew a tire" during takeoff from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport but said later “the crew reported a flat tire.” American said the pilots got a warning of low pressure in one of the tires.

Recommended Videos

The Boeing 777 landed safely and taxied to the gate under its own power, American said.

That model of plane has 14 tires to handle the pressure of takeoffs and landings: six on each of the two main landing gear assemblies and two more under the nose landing gear. The FAA is also investigating an incident last week in which a United Airlines Boeing 777 lost a tire during takeoff in San Francisco and cut short a flight to Japan, landing safely at Los Angeles International Airport.

Both planes in the recent incidents are more than 20 years old.

Top 5 airlines flying to orlando.

public website still broken for years randomly blocking browsers with privacy options active after loading a page maybe once. check-in on laptop was almost impossible but eventually randomly worked. had to print pass at airport since couldn't get back in to load digital pass on mobile firefox or chrome. red eye flight so smooth onboarding, plenty of room to spread out, easy offboarding. onboard wifi instructions mention vpn can cause problems connecting but fails to also mention private dns. no printed or built in menu list, seems weird to require personal device to point at qr code link for menu which does not even allow direct ordering. people with health condition risk related dietary restrictions trying to avoid for example cholesterol and sugar are left guessing what they can order either way without nutritional info highlights (cranberry juice was minute maid cocktail with as much suger as typical can of soda). tap to pay wasn't working and always seems sketchy to manually enter card info. good movie variety, so limited tv was okay.

Boarding super slow with people allowed to linger in aisles

There were choices for the snacks. Good choices and tasty lunch and breakfast as well.

First time travel in economy and the worst experience I ever had ! Shame on paying 600 dollars to be in a tuna can ! Service was terrible no even water no even class no even matters your flight attendants were lazy and sloppy very bad experience! After all these years traveling in first and once I try this cause I need to go to a destination for an emergency wow shame on you !

Everything was smooth and easy to fly. No complains and a lot of thanks!

More space in the cabin. The guy in front of me leaned his seat back and I felt he was sitting in my lap.

We checked one bag. That was fast and the agent was fast and super nice. At the gate, boarding was fast and efficient. Flight was uneventful which was great because it was early in the morning and most folks were sleeping. Landing was great. Delta does a really good job of making the flying experience better all around considering you are sitting in such a small space on a plane for several hours. Flight from ALT to Panama City was short and uneventful as well. No entertainment but no need since it was such a short flight.

The announcements about boarding were unclear and har.d to understand I almost missed the flight even though I wa in the boarding area. .

Delta and partner KLM continue to deliver and excellent flying experience with professional crew members and in flight food and entertainment

Pricing of seats is difficult - price transparency has disappeared. First class, business class. Comfort plus, economy, basic…. Especially the pricing of seat reservation. Used to be but early get a better price; now it seems prices are falling as we get closer to departure. Miles ticket value has gone away. Give me a break. Everybody is playing the game of upselling and delivering lower service. When demand drops, so will the game of price gouging, but we’ll see.

I hate their constant delays! It’s as if I cannot confidently make plans for timing when I'm traveling with them. I slept through it, so all I can say is it was good.

Did not wait long for wheelchair and attendant to arrive after checking in. Wheeled down to plane Was greeted with a smile when entering the plane Choice of snacks was very limited to 2 items. Seats are uncomfortable. My butt was sore after the 1st hour of flying. Needs better cushioning at seats.

Did not wait long for wheelchair and attendant to arrive after checking in. Wheeled down to plane Was greeted with a smile when entering the plane Choice of snacks was very limited to 2 items.

One hour delayed departure resulted in problems with planned ground transportation at my destination.

No WiFi No TV Bag of chips I guess it could be worse.

I really liked the way snacks and drinks were available throughout the flight!!! The flight attendants were also all fantastic!

From bag drop to boarding, it was great. In-flight is a little different. The seats were a little uncomfortable for that long of a flight. The rest of the cabin crew except for Eva was wonderful. Eva was not friendly at all. I've had to personally encounter her twice in-flight. First time was when I had to go to the lavatory in the back of the plane, and since it was the first for me to board such tiny plane, I didn't know we were using the crew toilet. She was giving me an attitude while telling me where and how to open it since it's not the regular push to open type of door. The second one was when I had to throw trash then use the lavatory again. I asked where to throw them, and unfortunately she was the only crew in the back doodling on her phone, she had to point it out to me with an attitude then told me to wait on the carpet, which I understand because I didn't realize that, but she could have been nicer. After all, I'm a paying customer, and assisting a passenger who isn't knowledgeable about the aircraft is one of the things she's there for. The rest of the experience and crew from bag drop to in-flight were excellent except for her.

On-time departure, smooth ride for sure. All was good except, once again, there was no movies/TV as it wasn’t functioning.

Boarding process on JetBlue is an absolute disgrace. I can’t believe they can’t figure out a better way to board everyone. They called people with disabilities, mosaic and group A all at once and it was a disaster

Our actual Flight was great & smooth but it was delayed for 4 hours and Jetblue weren't able to accommodate us in the earlier flight. That was Awful. I lost work/clients because of this delay

Absolutely filthy flight and not equipped for a trans US

Overall okay. Ipgrades ate worthless anymore. Wish I’d not been so loyal To them for so many years. Platinum many years. Gold for life. Usually 20th-30th on upgrade list.

The male steward shoved me hard when i sleeping on the isle, woke me up the only way incan descripe it was Violently. I wanted to cause a scene but was able to putnmy anger innch check, i want complain to AA

All the British airways staff were very helpful and friendly. Every thing was very smooth running from checking in boarding and arriving 40 minutes early. Which is a brilliant start to your holiday.

Good over all but my flight from. Miami to Barbados the airplane was very dirty like I have never seen before. It looked like that plane hasn’t been cleaned in a long time and I fly about one time a month.

Overall a fiasco. My first flight was delayed so late that I would have missed my connection. I had to cancel the flight and reschedule for the next morning. I took over half an hour to retrieve my luggage. I already paid $30 for checked in luggage for the flight I didn't take. When I checked in for my new flight on app I paid another $30. I went to the kiosk for my luggage tags and was charged $40. (My baggage didn't make it on the connecting flight but was delivered at 10:00 that night.) Later that day I requested a refund of the baggage fees. I received an email stating my refund was complete in the amount of $234.62. I didn't realize that meant my return flight was canceled until I tried to check in at the counter. They had refunded the wrong thing. It costed me $381.10 to book a new flight home. At least my baggage made it home with me.

First of all , lucky I caught our flight changes and we actually flew into chicago then Fort Myers

Everything was very good EXCEPT the food, on a five and a half hour trip. They only gave to us was snacks in first class. They didn't give us pillows or blankets.

Flight was delayed due to crew not being there, besides that it was a normal flight.

Flight was delayed over an hour due to flight crew issues, making difficult flight connection

My flight was cancelled and I am stranded in another state

Flight always gets delayed. Sat in the plane for over an hour before take off with no air con, still had to pay full price for snacks/drinks.

The airlines delay the flight 1 day and we refuse to take that option instead we need to take a bus ride, now we are expecting for refund the money, it was a horrible experience.

It would have been no e to have the option of a mid day flight and not super early or super late in the day.

Never made it to Atlanta due to the horrible policy of having to be at the gate 1 hour prior to departure. I was at the airport and the plane had not left Baltimore, but was not allowed to board.

Never got on the plane! My 2pm flight became 4am so I had to book southwest!

Well those seats! Man! On a short flight tolerable but too stiff and lack of cushioning make a longer flight uncomfortable. Good leg room tho, but I’m only 5’3”….

There was no WiFi available and trying to check baggage with the automated system never works with my Florida IDENTIFICATION

Passengers play their phones so everyone can hear them. No one tells them to use earbuds. Very annoying and unenjoyable.

First flight delayed and spirit didn’t let me on my connecting flight even though I made it on time because they overbooked and gave away my seat.

Everything was on time and smoothly run. All employees appeared happy and enjoying their job. The delay in take-off was unrelated to anything in Frontier’s control. I wish there were a caffeine-fee, sugar free soda drink option besides water. There are multiple zero sugar caffeine free options.

Everything was on time and smoothly run. All employees appeared happy and enjoying their job. The delay in take-off was unrelated to anything in Frontier’s control.

I like that the flight was not overcrowded, and I felt had space to spread out a little more. The flight was smooth for the most part no major turbulence. The crew was pretty good accommodating and professional.. the fellow passengers were cool as well… all good! Snacks always makes things better, but of course there were no snacks.

Be prepared for crowds and chaos upon arrival at the Orlando airport

Frontier is a mess. Kept changing flights and times on me. Ridiculous. Charged us twice for annual Discout Den membership.

Frontier system that tracts what you’ve paid for is horrible. I brought bags, tried to upgrade the weight of bag. Did it via the text service on their site. Got to the airport and they had no idea what was going on. Ended up paying way more than I was supposed to

The flights were right on time. The issue that was the most difficult was the lack of legroom on the planes

5 MINTUES LATE TO THEIR CHECK IN AND THEY WACK ME 200.00 BUCKS FOR RE BOOKING FEE AND PUT ME ON ANOTHER FLIGHT. @ THE BOARDING GATE IWATCH THEM BOARD MY ORIGINAL FLIGHT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME- TOATL SCAM!

Flight was canceled both ways cost me a lot of time and money. Company takes advantage of people to make money, can’t call there is no phone number and in order to chat with an agent you have to know the secret way to get to a person rather than a robot. Never deal with them again.

My luggage didn’t arrive with me and the personnel to help is nonexistent till like an hour before and after one of their flights .

How the Pacers' defense slowed down superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in key road win

round trip dallas to orlando

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- On his last bucket of the night, the one that got him to 30 points for the 11th time in his last 13 games, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had it easy.

Because by that point, the game was over. Yes, he scored 30 points but the Pacers' defense -- yes, the much-maligned, bottom-of-the-league-for-most-of-the-year Pacers' defense -- had made him inefficient enough to beat his team by double digits. Gilgeous-Alexander, one of the NBA's most efficient high-usage guards, was 12 of 27 from the floor, including 1 of 7 from 3-point range, and his four turnovers counteracted his five assists. The Thunder were -9 when their MVP candidate was on the floor and the Pacers grabbed a 121-111 road win over an Oklahoma City team that is tied for first in the Western Conference with defending NBA champion Denver.

The win was the Pacers' second straight and third in their last four games. With it, they improved to 37-29 and moved back up to sixth in the Eastern Conference, the spot they'd have to stay at or above to avoid the play-in round.

"When you're guarding a guy like that, you're not going to shut him down," said Pacers veteran backup point guard T.J. McConnell, who took on the assignment of guarding Gilgeous-Alexander when Andrew Nembhard and forward Aaron Nesmith were on the bench. "Just the volume that he shoots, how much he's involved in their offense and what they do. It's one of those thing where you just have to make it as hard as possible. We went in waves at him today, tried to wear him down and tire him out and I thought we did a good job of that."

The Pacers' relative success against Gilgeous-Alexander was just part of an overall defensive performance that might be their best of the season considering the opponent. The young Thunder, in the midst of a dramatic leap from a play-in round exit last season to No. 1 seed contention this year, rank third in the NBA in scoring (120.7 points per game), second in field goal percentage (.499), first in 3-point percentage (.394) and third in offensive rating (119.0 points per 100 possessions.) The Pacers held them below their averages across the board as the Thunder scored 111 points, shot 43.4% from the floor and 37.8% from 3-point range for an efficiency figure of 1.05 points per possession.

They made everyone work, not just Gilgeous-Alexander. Rookie of the Year candidate center Chet Holmgren had a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double, but he was 6 of 16 from the floor. Talented young guard Josh Giddey needed 15 shots for his 15 points. Lethal bench sharpshooter Isaiah Joe hit a pair of 3-pointers on five attempts, but he was 2 of 8 overall.

And though it maybe be a short-lived one so far, this does count as a trend.

Tuesday's performance follows the Pacers' 111-97 win over the Magic on Sunday in which Orlando -- a shaky offensive team but also the fifth-place team in the Eastern Conference -- scored the fewest points of any Pacers opponent this season. Indiana still ranks 28th in the NBA in points allowed with 121.3 per game and 25th in defensive rating. However, in their last four games, they're 13th in scoring defense, giving up 110.3 points per game, and seventh in defensive rating, which has led to wins over likely postseason teams in Dallas, Orlando and Oklahoma City and a close loss to Minnesota.

"We've taken on a tone where we have the ability to make it tough,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. “They missed some shots they normally make, probably, but our guys were working to make it hard on them."

Nembhard was particularly exceptional on Gilgeous-Alexander. He took the assignment for most of his 27 minutes and he was +9.

"I think you just want to be physical," Nembhard said. "Be a pest. Make it as difficult as you can and make him take tough shots. I think we did a solid job with that."

Nesmith did good work on Gilgeous-Alexander also, and both players have had a stretch of good work on very difficult assignments. Nesmith had the primary assignment of guarding Mavericks All-Star Luka Doncic last week, and though Doncic had 39 points in the game, he was 4 of 13 from the floor in the second half. Nesmith also held Orlando's Franz Wagner to 13 points on 5 of 14 shooting on Sunday.

The two 24-year-olds haven't reached the point where they're shutting down All-Stars, but they're bringing the force necessary to make superstars' lives difficult.

"They want the matchup," center Myles Turner said. "I think that's the biggest thing. Some guys might say they want it, but I feel like they take pride on locking up the best guys on the other side.”

The Pacers also got excellent defensive work from Turner, who blocked four shots while leading the Pacers in scoring with 24 points on 11 of 17 shooting. He also blocked six shots against Orlando on Sunday and four against Minnesota.

Blocks, of course, have been the defining feature of Turner's game for most of his career. With 1,239 career blocks, he's six shy of Jermaine O'Neal's Pacers franchise record and still 11 days short of his 28th birthday.

However, even after Tuesday's performance, he's averaging 1.9 blocks per game this season which puts him under 2.0 for the first time since 2017-18. This three-game stretch, he said, is an indication of a change in mindset in hopes that he'll go back to swatting shots at the rate that he's used to.

"I think for the most part this season, I've been a little hesitant," Turner said. "I don't know if it's fouls or just getting out of position, but in the past I feel like I just went for everything. That's what the team's encouraged me to do is get back to being myself on that side of the floor. Just covering up for guy's mistakes and being there for my teammates."

Strong performances from the Pacers' top defenders seemed contagious on Tuesday. All-Star forward Pascal Siakam grabbed 11 rebounds, all on the defensive end, and recorded two steals and a block. Backup center Jalen Smith grabbed nine rebounds, eight on defense, in just 18 minutes. All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton had two steals and two blocks and even played some tough on-the-ball defense.

"We're playing with more effort, more energy, more intensity," Nesmith said. "We're paying attention to detail and it's paying off."

They need it to, because the offense will likely not provide the same margin for error that it did for the early part of the season. The Pacers still lead the league in scoring with 123.1 per game. However in sharpshooter Buddy Hield -- dealt to Philadelphia on Feb. 8 -- and bucket-getter Bennedict Mathurin -- out since the Dallas game due to a torn labrum that will require season-ending shoulder surgery -- the Pacers lost two powerful offensive forces.

In the 14 games since the Hield trade, the Pacers have seen a slight decrease in explosiveness and efficiency, ranking sixth in scoring (118.4 points per game) and seventh in offensive rating (116.6). In their three games without Mathurin -- a small sample size, all against teams rated in the top five in defensive rating -- they rank 12th with 114.3 points per game and 17th in offensive rating.

Even without acknowledging what they've lost, the Pacers are aware that defense is about to become more relevant. Taking both games of this road trip was a big step for them, but with 16 games left to go their playoff fate could still swing dramatically in either direction. At 37-29, they sit in sixth place, just 1 1/2 games behind the Knicks in fourth, but also just one game ahead of the eighth-place Heat.

"We've done it for one or two games, now it's time to sustain it," Turner said. "This time of year, it's important. I think the coaching staff has done a good job of hammering in that message that defense is everything and we need to be more physical. Now it shows up in our play."
