Tour Trek GTS Hardcase

The GTS Hardcase from Tour Trek (Golfsmith’s house brand) is one of the few available hardsided golf travel bags. Like the Samsonite Hardside , it has a lightweight ABS shell and comes with four 360-degree spinner wheels on the bottom of the case that enable you to roll it standing up, along with two in-line skate wheels when you need to pull it over rougher terrain.

An interior pocket or two would have been nice, but now we’re really splitting hairs. The GTS Hardcase and Samsonite Hardside are very similar products (thus the similar scoring), and it ultimately may come down to which one is better priced on a given day (we’ve seen both at discounts to the listed MSRPs), and whether or not you get antsy about the fact that we couldn’t find any warranty information about the product. We presume that Golsmith would stand behind its products, but you may not be as trusting as we are.

If you fill up your golf travel bag to the airline baggage weight limit, you’ll be at 50 pounds. It’s much easier to roll 50 pounds that is standing up on four wheels than it is to lift one edge of a 50 pound bag and drag it behind you on two wheels. Your arms, shoulders and back will all thank you if you make the move.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

As mentioned above, the Tour Trek GTS Hardcase golf travel case is made of ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, if you must know what it stands for), a lightweight plastic that has a bit of flexibility. Interestingly, both the Tour Trek GTS Hardcase and the Samsonite Hardside had a number of scuffs and scratches after their maiden voyages – we presume it’s just a propensity of ABS to show wear and tear. There was, however, no damage to the structural integrity of the case, and more importantly, the precious cargo was untouched.

A two-way zipper runs the length of the bag with a ring that enables the zippers to be locked together, and the bag comes with a TSA approved padlock. The dimensions of the GTS Hardcase are approximately 52” x 15” x 14”, compared to the Samsonite Hardside ’s 54″ x 16″ x 12″, and thus the GTS Hardcase has a tad more interior capacity. Note that even though it’s a hair shorter than the Samsonite, it had no problems accommodating a golf carry bag with an oversize driver in it.

The design of the Tour Trek GTS Hardcase also includes:

  • four 360-degree “spinner” wheels on the bottom of the case that pivot in any direction, making for a smooth rolling experience and the ability to pivot quickly and easily,
  • two additional in-line skate wheels positioned on one side that can be used to pull the case over curbs or uneven surfaces,
  • a thin layer of padding throughout the bag, with thicker foam padding at the top to protect the heads of your clubs as they extend out of your regular golf carry bag,
  • two internal adjustable straps to secure your golf bag – one that fits around the top of the bag and one toward the bottom,
  • two plastic-gripped handles – one at the top of the case, and one on the side – with springs that cause the handles to fold tight with the case when they aren’t being used, and
  • only one color option – grey.

We tested the Tour Trek GTS Hardcase with a standard sized carry bag, and were comfortably able to fit a pair of golf shoes, a pair of flip flops, and clothes for a long weekend. On the trip home, we had all of the dirty clothes in a plastic hotel laundry bag, and were easily able to shove the plastic bag into the GTS Hardcase and zip it shut. The ABS exterior has some give to it, so there was actually additional room to cram in additional stuff, but as always, you have to be aware of exceeding airline restrictions on weight.

TRAVEL IMPRESSIONS

Like the Samsonite Hardside , the Tour Trek GTS Hardcase is designed to stand on its base and let you wheel it along on the four “spinner” wheels. If you’re going over a curb or uneven surface, you can easily grab the top handle and drag it behind you on the two in-line skate wheels.

The Tour Trek GTS Hardcase weighed 16 pounds (as tested), making it the second heaviest travel case we tested (topped only by the OGIO Mammoth ), but because it is fully wheeled, the additional weight doesn’t impact the ease of hauling it around. The primary impact of the heavier weight is that it means you’re a bit closer to the airlines’ “overweight” baggage fee for bags over 50 pounds before you’ve even started packing.

While the GTS Hardcase is two inches shorter than the Samsonite Hardside , it’s still difficult to fit in the trunk of a typical import car, so you’ll need to either use a pass through between the trunk and back seat, or you can just lay it across the entire back seat (which worked fine in our rental Toyota Camry).

The Tour Trek GTS Hardcase golf travel bag retails for $199.99, placing it among the least expensive third of bags in our tests. We’ve hammered home the convenience of four-wheeling in this review, but will emphasize it one more time – until you’ve tried it, you don’t know what you’re missing. The hard shell provides great confidence in the protection afforded for your clubs, while staying relatively light.

We couldn’t find any warranty information about the Tour Trek GTS Hardcase either on the packaging or on the retailer’s web site, so it may just be caveat emptor. This is a minor concern, although Golfsmith is a large retailer and presumably would stand behind its house products.

Tour Trek 3 Wheel 360 Golf Push Cart

Photo of Tour Trek 3 Wheel 360 Golf Push Cart

The Bottom Line

The TourTrek 3 Wheel 360 has a great swiveling front wheel for ultimate manueverability,

The cupholder is nice and the front swiveling wheel gives it a great turn radius

The swiveling front wheel makes the push cart less stable and more prone to tipping. The front end has less feature and holders than some.

I’ve had this cart since 2021 and I love it.

Regarding the front end stability: lock the front wheel and it’s stable. I hardly ever use it in swivel mode.

My only complaints are the mechanisms for folding are more complex than previous models, which folded after pushing a button. There’s a bit of a learning curve for folding this one. Another is: can I get replacement parts from Dicks/Golf Galaxy? Hope so. The scorecard holder/trunk snapped off when ut snagged something in my car :(

@doug I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fold this thing .. any shot you could shed light ?

Tourtrek 360 one click versus Clicgear 3.5

Hey guys. I'm 47 years old, been playing golf for 30 years, always walk and carry my bag, and have a horrible back. The time had come for me to move into the world of push carts.

I was in Golfsmith today looking at both of these models. Does anyone have some real world experience they can share about either? I know there's a lot of love for the Clicgear around here, but the tourtrek seemed pretty nice too, especially with the swiveling front wheel.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Thanks for the response. Whoa, that's more like a Rolls Royce than a Cadillac. The tourtrek is one click. It's very easy. The Clicgear requires a bit more effort, but wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if it truly was a better, more versatile push cart. It's just that everyone raves about the Clicgear, and I'm sure it's great, but I will say that the tourtrek seemed equally nice and the swivel wheel and one click system seem like good features that the Clicgear doesn't have. e

Looks like the Click gear has a problem with the front wheel falling off and the brakes continually locking up. With the tourtrek, the older model had some complaints about the drink holder not being able to fit a normal sized pop can. You may want to look into that. I would imagine that they have fixed this with the one click.

I'm in the market for a push cart trying to decide what i want I love the 360 wheel idea in the front. I can see that would be much easier to steer around the course then to have to push down and move the front wheel/wheels. Was wondering how good the tour trek line was. Bag Boy has a 360 wheel cart i belive this was the first company to inculde this idea but Bagboy cost more. However i do think it is smaller folded up and i also like the storage/score card area on the handle is better but hard to pull the $250us price compared to the 190 of Tour trek. Found this one last night on Big max golf has a 360 front wheel. I heard that Rovic was adding a 360 wheel and just found it! Rovic is made by Clicgear! I've used the TourTrek One Click 2.0 for 2 years now and would not hesitate to get another one. The big advantage to the TourTrek is how stupid easy it is to fold and unfold. One Click and it's done. I use the hell out of mine and have had zero issues. No problems with the drink holder and comes with adjustable umbrella too. Great product at a great price.

  • 5 years later...

My 12 year old son has a TourTrek 360 push cart and we cannot figure out how to collapse it. There are no videos on how to fold it and it is supposed to be easy, but I have had 3 people look at it and we still can't figure it out. I have downloaded the manual and it says to press the button below the scorecard holder. Not helpful. I have pressed every button possible and it still will not fold. Can someone please give me some guidance? The picture below is not ours, just a stock picture.

Best push and electric carts for 2019

Do you like the exercise that comes from pushing or pulling your clubs, or do prefer the freedom that comes with an electric cart? There are pluses and minuses for each.

Today’s push carts are lighter, smoother and easier to control, to help golfers stay the course while on the course. Coming in a variety of models that are equipped with the latest accessories, push carts allow golfers to walk with ease.

Clicgear 3.5+

One of the most notable models for the past few years, Clicgear 3.5+ increased storage by 80% over previous models, adding a new strap system that makes it easier to connect your bag to the cart, and improved umbrella storage. There’s also a reworked brake system that should eliminate any issues with the cable wearing out. Even the cup holder is better.

Clicgear 3.5+

Tour Trek One Click 360

Tour Trek One Click 360

A Golf Town exclusive, the Tour Trek One Click 360  is simple and convenient—the ideal folding option. With large wheels to absorb and bumps in the landscape, and a front wheel that rotates 360 degrees, this is a cart with plenty of storage. The details are nailed—with clever additions like a storage for your smart phone, and an area to hold your rain suit.

Tour Trek One Click 360

Sun Mountain Pathfinder

One of the stalwarts of push carts for 20 years, Sun Mountain continues to improve its Pathfinder, making it lighter, easier to fold and more compact than practically anything on the market. Weighing less than 20 pounds, and with a simple system to break them down and tuck away in your trunk, the Pathfinder is a push cart you’ll want to investigate. *Available May 2019 in select stores and golftown.com .

Sun Mountain Pathfinder

Electric Carts

Electric carts are the most convenient way to walk the course. Equipped with GPS, remote control options, and longer-lasting batteries, while being lighter and more compact, an electric cart is like having your very own caddie for every round.

Motocaddy S5

Motocaddy S5

First hitting the market in 2017, the S5 is one of the most sophisticated electric carts, with Bluetooth connectivity that allows it to be synced to a phone. The digital display can be used in place of a GPS, and the cart can be set up to notify the golfer of incoming calls or texts, as well as alerts from apps like Facebook. With USB charging built-in, this is the electric cart for the digital age.

Motocaddy S1

Easy to fold, and offering nine speed settings, this is the perfect introduction for golfers looking for an electric cart. If you’re looking for GPS and remote-controlled features, you’re not going to find them in the S1. But you’ll get a reliable, relatively inexpensive option with a new streamlined battery tray that allows you to use the full range of batteries offered by Motocaddy.

Motocaddy S1

MGI Zip Navigator

If you’re going to invest in an electric cart, you might as well have it do the work for you. That’s the benefit of the MGI Zip Navigator—you walk free and your cart does the work. With a directional remote control, the Navigator allows you to control the speed and its automatic downhill speed control means you’ll never have it run away on you. Tackle the toughest golf courses with ease—or at least your cart will. *Available May 2019 in select stores and golftown.com.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

2024 RBC Heritage odds, picks, field, predictions: Golf expert fading Rory McIlroy at Harbour Town

Sia nejad reveals his rbc heritage 2024 picks, props and sleepers for this week's pga tour event in hilton head, s.c..

golf town tour trek

One week after the first major of the year, the PGA Tour heads to Hilton Head, S.C., for the fifth signature event of the season. The 2024 RBC Heritage is set to begin on Thursday at Harbour Town Golf Links. As a signature event, the RBC Heritage 2024 has attracted a field loaded with the tour's top players, including 10 of the top 12 players in the Official World Golf Ranking. The 2024 RBC Heritage field is led by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who is coming off a victory at the Masters last week.

The No. 1 ranked player in the world is the overwhelming favorite in the 2024 RBC Heritage odds at +400. Xander Schauffele, who finished eighth at the Masters, is the +1000 second choice. Rory McIlroy (+1200), Ludvig Aberg (+1200) and Patrick Cantlay (+1400) round out the top five choices in the RBC Heritage 2024 field. Before locking in any 2024 RBC Heritage picks, make sure you  see the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad .

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets and in betting head-to-head matchups. He also has been solid with his head-to-head matchups since last year's Charles Schwab Challenge, going 39-27-2 and returning 8.31 units over that span. That's a $831 profit for $100 bettors since May 2023.

Nejad also nailed 75-1 longshot Wyndham Clark as the outright winner at the Wells Fargo Championship. In 2023, SportsLine debuted "The Early Wedge," and in the first three months of the show, he hit two first-round leaders and three outright winners.

Now, Nejad has focused his attention on the 2024 RBC Heritage field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. See who they are at SportsLine .

Top 2024 RBC Heritage expert picks

One surprise: Nejad is completely fading Rory McIlroy, even though he is one of the favorites at +1200. The four-time major winner is playing the RBC Heritage for just the third time in his career. He finished 58th in 2009 and 41st in 2020.

In addition, McIlroy has played seven PGA Tour events this season without much success. He has been in contention in only one event, the Valero Texas Open, where he finished third. He is coming off a 22nd-place finish at the Masters. "I have no interest in betting Rory McIlroy at a short number," Nejad told SportsLine.

However, Nejad is high on the chances of Will Zalatoris, who's listed as a +2800 longshot. The 27-year-old from Dallas has one runner-up finish, three top-10s, and four top 25s in eight events this season. He enters the 2024 RBC Heritage off a T-9 finish at the Masters.

Nejad likes how Zalatoris' approach play fits at Harbour Town, with its narrow fairways and small greens. Zalatoris ranks eighth on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: approach (+0.720). "He can absolutely contend at Harbour Town," Nejad said.  See which other golfers to back at SportsLine .

How to make 2024 RBC Heritage picks

Nejad has locked in his best bets for the 2024 RBC Heritage and is backing several longshots, including one that is priced at more than +4000. This player is a "great course fit" and is a longshot who could surprise. You can see Nejad's PGA Tour picks only at SportsLine .

So which players should you target or avoid for the 2024 RBC Heritage, and which player in the   RBC Heritage 2024 field could bring a huge payday at more than +4000? Check out the odds below, then visit SportsLine to see Sia Nejad's top picks for the 2024 RBC Heritage , all from the expert who is 39-27-2 on his last 68 head-to-head picks.

RBC Heritage 2024: Odds, predictions, value picks for Harbour Town

F resh off a historic Masters Tournament that saw Scottie Scheffler further cement himself as the top player on the planet, the best players on the PGA Tour will make the short trip to Hilton Head for the RBC Heritage.

Viktor Hovland withdrew from this event after missing the cut at the Masters, but eight of the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) will still tee it up. LIV Golf's Jon Rahm is the only other player missing from the top 10.

Other notables that will tee it up this week include Matt Fitzpatrick and Jordan Spieth , who battled it out in an epic three-hole playoff here last year. The Englishman defeated the American on the third playoff hole, keeping Spieth from winning back-to-back titles in Hilton Head.

Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa , Cameron Young, and Sahith Theegala are also in the field while Hideki Matsuyama rests and recovers.

RBC Heritage Odds:

Here are the current odds for players to win, per DraftKings:

  • Scottie Scheffler +400
  • Rory McIlroy +1000
  • Xander Schauffele +1100
  • Ludvig Åberg +1200
  • Patrick Cantlay +1800
  • Tommy Fleetwood +2000
  • Matt Fitzpatrick +2000
  • Max Homa +2200
  • Collin Morikawa +2200
  • Wyndham Clark +2500
  • Will Zalatoris +2500
  • Jordan Spieth +2500

RBC Heritage Predictions

Contested annually on one of Pete Dye’s most renowned courses, Harbour Town Golf Links prioritizes target golf. You must avoid the hazards that snake throughout the course while giving yourself the best angles to attack its tiny greens. Even being on the wrong side of the fairway can lead to trouble, as many trees hang over the short grass.

As such, ball-striking is paramount, but so is driving accuracy. Harbour Town is not a long course for PGA Tour standards, but it penalizes any wayward tee shots and approaches.

Jordan Spieth rebounds for Top 10 finish

A quadruple bogey nine on the 15th hole during the first round of The Masters sealed Jordan Spieth’s fate at Augusta this year. But his early exit means he can focus on rebounding at the RBC Heritage, where he has had plenty of success.

We believe he does just that.

Even though he has missed three of his last four cuts, including at both Augusta and The Players, Spieth’s record at Harbour Town is too tough to overlook.

He lost last year in a playoff and won the tournament the year before that. In all eight of those rounds, Spieth has broken 70 each time.

The three-time major winner can certainly be erratic at times, which does not typically translate to success, but the results at Harbour Town speak for themselves.

In addition, Spieth ranks 8th on tour in overall strokes gained and is slightly above average in driving accuracy percentage. As such, we like him at +250 to finish within the top 10.

Max Homa, Ludvig Åberg maintain presence on leaderboard

Both Max Homa and Ludvig Åberg have played well over the past couple of months, most recently recording top 5 finishes at The Masters.

We like that trend to continue at Harbour Town this week, even though Homa missed the cut there a year ago and Åberg has not yet competed on this track.

As such, we believe that Homa, who does not currently have many flaws in his game, will finish in the top 10—his third of the season.

Meanwhile, Åberg has been on a tear ever since finishing solo second to Wyndham Clark at Pebble Beach in early February. Since then, his worst finish came at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he tied for 25th. His ability to hit the ball as straight as an arrow and find greens at will makes him a strong candidate to finish in the top 5 at +275.

Scottie Scheffler contends but does not win

Once again, Scottie Scheffler’s odds this week border on being ridiculous. These numbers have not been seen since Tiger Woods regularly dominated the PGA Tour throughout the mid-2000s.

Nevertheless, the return on Scheffler finishing in the top 10 does not warrant a wager at -225. Neither does a top 5 finish, which is currently +100.

But fresh off a mentally-taxing win at Augusta, another win at Harbour Town does not appear to be in the cards. Plus, he has more important things on his mind, like the upcoming birth of his child.

Scheffler will most certainly contend at Harbour Town. He contends every week he plays, but we do not envision him winning for a fourth time in five starts.

RBC Heritage Winner

For the first time since his win at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in 2019, Shane Lowry will emerge victorious.

The Irishman finds fairways and greens like few others have in 2024, and he will rely on his accuracy to triumph at Harbour Town.

Lowry currently ranks 3rd on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: approaching the green and 5th in strokes gained: tee-to-green. But he has also hit the fairway 85% of the time this season, which ranks first on the PGA Tour. You need to be in position off the tee on this golf course, and Lowry has done that better than anyone in 2024.

At +6000, Lowry's odds seem high, especially considering he has not missed a cut since January. Perhaps that is because he did not have his best stuff at The Masters, but Augusta National played extremely difficult this year. Even then, Augusta and Harbour Town share little resemblance.

Before The Masters, Lowry tied for 4th at PGA National, finished solo 3rd at Bay Hill, and then tied for 19th at The Players. Those three courses comprise three-quarters of the Florida Swing, and they are similar to Harbour Town, where Lowry has three top-10 finishes over his past five starts.

This time, however, he wins.

Rory McIlroy laughs at LIV Golf rumors: 'I will play the PGA Tour for the rest of my career'

Rory McIlroy has no idea how the rumor started. But he put an end to it quickly.

Speaking with Golf Channel's Todd Lewis on the range at the 2024 RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Lewis asked McIlroy, the world No. 2, about rumors that came to a head Monday saying McIlroy was in talks to join LIV Golf for upwards of $850 million as well as an ownership stake in the league.

However, those couldn't be further from the truth, McIlroy said.

"I've never been offered a number from LIV, and I've never contemplated going to LIV," McIlroy told Lewis . "I think I've made it clear over the past two years, I don't think it's something for me. Doesn't mean that I judge people that have went and played over there. I think one of the things that I've realized over the past two years is people can make their own decisions for whatever they think is best for themselves. Who are we to judge them for that? Personally, for me, my future is here on the PGA Tour, and it's never been any different."

During the Masters, LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman was spotted multiple times following McIlroy's group, including some reports stating Norman trying to get McIlroy's attention walking between holes. As no phones are allowed on the grounds at Augusta National, there is no video of the reported incidents.

https://twitter.com/golfcentral/status/1780262693045150050?s=46&t=MG8VjPCEf5t3LRlqWHoMuQ

McIlroy's stance has softened on LIV Golf in recent months, perhaps adding fuel to the fire he could soon be switching circuits. But McIlroy, who's in the middle of playing four straight PGA Tour events, quickly dispelled the rumor.

"Over the last two years, there has been so many rumors of guys... and I think the one thing I've realized as well is guys need to keep an open mind. And I'm sure there's guys still playing on the PGA Tour who have talked to guys from LIV and had offers and whatever," McIlroy said. "It's never even been a conversation for us. It's unfortunate that we have to deal with it, and this is the state our game is in. I'm obviously here today, I'm playing this PGA Tour event next week and I will play the PGA Tour for the rest of my career."
