Forget "My Little Pony" -- Taylor Swift 's special-guest roster on her "1989" tour proves friendship is magic.

Thanks to Instagram and Twitter, the celebrities and musicians she invites on stage each night have become as expected as her shiny outfits and smooth backup dancers. In the beginning, Swift's invitees were slightly more expected: ladies from her much-'grammed crew, or musical acts that could use Swift's star power to reach a bigger audience.

But when unexpected, er, friends started to pop up -- the U.S. Women's Soccer Team? Joan Baez?? Kobe Bryant??? -- it was hard to keep track of just how many famous faces graced the many stadiums Swift set foot in. Here's a list of all the celeb cameos we've seen on the "1989" tour as of Monday. With three more shows in LA this week, followed by San Diego, Salt Lake City, Denver, and St. Paul -- to name just a few -- we're sure this list will become much longer before the year's end. And we say, the more, the merrier. But if Swift finds that there is simply no one left in Hollywood to invite, we here at The Huffington Post would gladly step up to the plate. Just sayin'.

The Story Behind The '22' Hat In Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Concert Film, And Why It Unexpectedly Made Me Cry

I don't know about you, but I didn't think "22" would make me cry.

Taylor Swift ’s hit song “22” from Red (Taylor’s Version) is maybe the most joyful track on the album. It’s literally the last song that will make you cry. However, when I went to see The Eras Tour concert film , of all the moments in the show, it was during this upbeat song that I started to well up. The reason for it has to do with the story behind the “22” hat and the special person she gave it to at one of the concerts they filmed for this project in Los Angeles.

Who Taylor Swift Gave Her '22' Hat To In The Eras Tour Concert Film

Along with Taylor Swift changing up her surprise songs for every concert, she also gives her “22” black hat to a different fan every night. Going into the film, one of the questions I had about the Eras Tour we’d see on the big screen was regarding who they’d show getting the hat. The 6-year-old daughter of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant, Bianka Bryant, ended up getting the “22” hat during the concert film, and it was one of the most joyous moments of the whole event.

@espn ♬ original sound - ESPN

Vanessa Bryant took her daughters – Natalia, 20, Bianka, 6, and Capri, 3 – to see Swift during her first of six shows at SoFi Stadium in August. Every night, Swift gives the hat she wears during “22” to an excited fan. Most of the time it’s a kid, and sometimes, as you can see in the TikTok from ESPN , she shares the sweet moment with a youngster she personally knows, like Bianka Bryant.

The entire Bryant family was thrilled about the moment, and considering Taylor Swift’s connection to the Lakers legend and his loved ones, it made the moment in the concert film even more special (and emotional).

Taylor Swift’s Connection To Kobe Bryant

In 2015, during the 1989 World Tour, Taylor Swift brought A-list celebrities out on stage during the majority of her shows. When she got to Los Angeles, the GOAT of pop music brought out the GOAT of basketball by having Kobe Bryant join her on stage.

Swift had played five sold-out shows at the then Staples Center, and over the course of her career, she had sold out the iconic arena 16 times. That was “the most of any artist ever” and the number of championships the Lakers had at the time, as the NBA star put it. So, to celebrate, he announced that the pop star would be getting a banner in the event space.

In 2019, Kobe Bryant praised Swift and how she’s shown love for his family during an interview on The Jordan Harbinger Show . He talked about how he admired her career, and he loved learning about how she sustained success and exceeded expectations. The pop star was also so nice to his kids, and he really appreciated that. Overall, game recognizes game, and the basketball player called her “a killer.”

Since the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi, Swift has seemingly remained close to the family. She paid tribute to them after their untimely deaths in 2020, and since then she has gifted the Bryant kids merchandise when she dropped albums, per Today .

At the LA concert this summer, Natalia Bryant posted about meeting with Swift backstage after the show, and you can tell by the massive smiles that there's a lot of love between the singer and this family.

A post shared by n a t a l i a ✨ (@nataliabryant) A photo posted by on

Vanessa Bryant showed off this history with the jacket she wore to the concert this summer too, as Insider reported. She rocked a coat that had a big photo from that 1989 concert in 2015 which featured both Swift and Kobe on stage together. To make matters even more emotional, she had “say you’ll remember me,” written on the front in a heart. They also made the concert a full family affair, as Vanessa made friendship bracelets for Kobe and Gigi.

Why The ‘22’ Moment Made Me Tear Up While Watching Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour

I’m not a crier. While the live Eras Tour altered my brain chemistry and made me feel all the emotions, I didn’t tear up. So, you can imagine my shock when, out of every song Swift sang during her concert, it was “22” that got me. However, upon further reflection, it actually makes a lot of sense why I got so emotional.

First of all, as a casual basketball fan from the West Coast, Kobe Bryant’s impact and legacy are not lost on me. His and his daughter’s deaths were truly tragic, and seeing little Bianka Bryant on the big screen brought back a lot of those emotions of the day we lost them.

I Made Tons Of Friendship Bracelets For Taylor Swift’s Concert, And Have Some Ideas For The Eras Tour Concert Film

Secondly, and on a happier note, the “22” moment in the show is bubbling with joy, and seeing Swift pass along her hat is always so touching. To me, seeing a little kid or a massive fan standing by the side of the stage shows the connection between Swift and her fans. It also clearly shows how much she loves Swifties. In the movie, you can clearly see the excitement and adoration on both the singer's and Bianka's faces, and their joy is infectious.

Combining these two things, I knew the gravity of Bianka Bryant being there in LA with Swift, and anytime she gives away the “22” hat a big smile always ends up on my face. Watching the concert film, all those emotions hit me at once. Seeing the 6-year-old with the biggest smile on her face as the singer lovingly hugged her, I got surprisingly emotional. I was thinking about Kobe’s legacy, Swift’s accomplishments, and just how special it is to be a Swiftie. In hindsight, of course, it was this moment that made me emotional.

If you want to see this sweet moment on the big screen, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour just dropped on the 2023 movie schedule , and you can witness it right now in movie theaters. After you see the incredible concert film, make sure you get ready for Swift’s upcoming projects , which include the continuation of the Eras Tour and the re-release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) , which comes out on October 27.

Taylor Swift’s Star-Packed ‘1989’ Tour: Relive Every Cameo

  • By Jon Blistein

Jon Blistein

Taylor Swift  has spent the better part of the past five months bringing her masterful 2014 album,  1989 , to the masses. Swift's gigantic pop production — winding down Saturday in Tampa, Florida — has criss-crossed the United States, as well as parts of Europe, but the star has taken pains to distinguish the trek from your run-of-the-mill stadium spectacle, sprinkling her shows with surprise guests from across the musical spectrum.

Swift has paired with everyone from rising stars like the Weeknd, Fetty Wap, Sam Hunt and Rachel Platten, to established peers like Lorde, Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez, and celebrated veterans like Miranda Lambert, Justin Timberlake and Mick Jagger. If previous Swift album cycles were marked by overwrought discussions about which ex a song was calling out,  1989 has been first and foremost about friendship. Swift and her audience are not separate entities, but fellow partygoers: She reacts to the presence of her guests with the same incredulity as the crowd.

Tracking Swift's revolving door of  1989 guests was as much a pastime this summer as baseball or trying to ignore Donald Trump. To date, 35 of Swift's 61 North American shows have featured at least one surprise guest, with some featuring two or three, plus an assortment of friends, who walked a lengthy catwalk alongside Swift during "Style." For those hoping to relive that magic moment — or for fans at guest-less shows still stricken by FOMO —  Rolling Stone has compiled a complete rundown of the cameo-crammed tour.

Dan Reynolds, “Radioactive” in Detroit

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's first North American show in Bossier City, Louisiana, was a guest-less affair. So was night two in Baton Rouge. Eight days — and one quick jaunt to Norwich, England for a spot at Radio 1's Big Weekend festival — later,  Swift served her first  1989 tour surprise: Dan Reynolds, who pumped his fists with Swift as they traded vocals on Imagine Dragons' 2012 track, "Radioactive."

Little Big Town, “Pontoon” in Pittsburgh

Taylor Swift

Despite a dramatic, all-encompassing turn to pop on 1989 , Swift is always ready for the country: In Pittsburgh, she brought out Alabama outfit Little Big Town for their 2012 Number One, "Pontoon," an ode to on-the-water revelry with a delightfully cheeky hook — "Out here in the open/Mmmmm-motorboatin'." Swift's backup dancers even came out in swim trunks and goggles, and some were wrapped in unicorn inner tubes.

Echosmith, “Cool Kids”; Rachel Platten, “Fight Song” in Philadelphia

Taylor

Over two nights in Philadelphia, Swift shone the spotlight on the next crop of pop superstars. During her first show, she brought out Echosmith's Sydney Sierota  to perform the group's breakout single, "Cool Kids." And on night two, she was joined by Rachel Platten. The pair belted Platten's empowering, piano-driven smash, "Fight Song," Swift gazing like a proud peer as the rising singer handled the track's stirring bridge on her own.

The Weeknd, “Can’t Feel My Face” in East Rutherford, NJ (Night One)

Taylor Swift

Swift broke out the big guns for her first show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In addition to a duet with the Weeknd on his summer hit, "Can't Feel My Face," the pop star welcomed the U.S. women's national soccer team to walk the catwalk during "Style" with their World Cup trophy . Topping it all off, Swift assembled a sizable chunk of her girl gang, including Lily Aldridge, Lena Dunham, Gigi Hadid and Hailee Steinfeld to join her for "Bad Blood."

Nick Jonas, “Jealous” in East Rutherford, NJ (Night Two)

Taylor Swift

Swift didn't disappoint her New York–area fans at her second show at MetLife. "Style" featured another array of friends including Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Uzo Aduba, Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloo and Gigi Hadid; but the night's big guest was Nick Jonas, who lead a bombastic rendition of his soulful pop hit, "Jealous."

Lorde, “Royals”; Jason Derulo, “Want to Want Me” in Washington, D.C.

Taylor Swift

After her star-packed New York stand, Swift kept things relatively simple in Washington, D.C. On night one, friend and pop prodigy Lorde hit the stage for "Royals," while the following night featured Jason Derulo. The R&B singer dutifully took the reins of the propulsive "Want to Want Me," getting so wrapped up in the heat of the moment his shirt mysteriously vanished by the end of the song.

Andy Grammer, “Honey, I’m Good”; Sam Hunt, “Take Your Time” in Chicago

Taylor Swift

On her 2011  Speak Now tour, Swift welcomed burgeoning blue-eyed pop singer Andy Grammer to the stage for a rendition of his breakout single, "Keep Your Head Up." Four years later, she trotted Grammer out again on her first night in Chicago for a performance of his equally infectious 2015 single, "Honey, I'm Good." The next night, Swift gave some shine to rising country crooner Sam Hunt, who parked himself next to Swift for a duet of his fetching, half-rapped ode to slow, simple love, "Take Your Time."

Walk the Moon, “Shut Up and Dance”; MKTO, “Classic” in Foxborough, MA

Taylor Swift

With "Fight Song" and "Can't Feel My Face" already under her belt, Swift continued to plow through the various tracks vying for song of the summer 2015. Walk the Moon's slow burner, "Shut Up and Dance" peaked at Number Two on the Hot 100 this July after being released in September, 2014, and Swift and frontman Nicholas Petricca offered an outsized rendition of the ebullient earworm. She replicated that same energy with MKTO the following night during a sizzling performance of the duo's 2014 song-of-the-summer contender, "Classic."

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO_U0747BzM]

Nico and Vinz, “Am I Wrong” in Vancouver

Taylor Swift

The 1989 tour rolled into Canada with Norwegian duo Nico and Vinz joining Swift on stage for their 2014 track "Am I Wrong. The song's thumping percussion and achingly triumphant hook wouldn't sound out of place in Swift's own set list, and the pop star adapted easily to the track, slinking around the stage and smiling widely as she sang with the duo.

Fetty Wap, “Trap Queen” in Seattle

Taylor Swift

The love song that warmed hearts across the world this summer was given the duet it always deserved when Swift teamed up with Fetty Wap for his beloved breakout, "Trap Queen." Swift kept the romantic vibes going later, when she walked the catwalk during "Style" with the Pacific Northwest's cutest couple, Ciara and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfT3Jr0iMgg]

Fifth Harmony, “Worth It”; Little Mix, “Black Magic” in Santa Clara, CA

Taylor Swift

Girl groups ruled during Swift's two-night stop in Santa Clara, California. At her first show, Swift welcomed Fifth Harmony for a performance of "Worth It," easily nestling into her role as the sixth harmonizer on the group's silky, bombastic, horn-laced single. The next night, U.K. vocal quartet Little Mix took the stage for a sugar-coated rendition of "Black Magic."

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE6BqsMp02k]

Kobe Bryant; OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, “Counting Stars” in Los Angeles (Night One)

Taylor Swift

The 1989 world tour parked itself at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for a whopping five nights at the end of August, and the run found Swift achieving a notable milestone: Sixteen sold-out shows at the famed venue — a number equal to the NBA Championships banners hung by the Los Angeles Lakers. Fittingly, Lakers star Kobe Bryant was on hand during night one to raise a banner in Swift's honor. The show also featured a musical surprise for good measure, with OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder hitting the stage for "Counting Stars."

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh-68HBJr1M]

Uzo Aduba, “White Horse”; Mary J. Blige, “Doubt” and “Family Affair” in Los Angeles (Night Two)

Taylor Swift

While not all of Swift's guests have been musicians, Orange Is the New Black star Uzo Aduba doubled down on her East Rutherford catwalk cameo and coaxed a deep cut out of Swift in Los Angeles. Aduba revealed a set of deep, gorgeous pipes as she took lead on  Fearless  hit "White Horse" while Swift plucked at her acoustic guitar and delivered backup vocals.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1Ta9KjSszU]

Later, Swift brought out Mary J. Blige for something old and something new: First, "Doubt," from Blige's 2014 effort, The London Sessions , then the still swinging "Family Affair." Capping it all off, Swift welcomed "Blank Space" video star, Sean O'Pry to the stage for "Style,"  though he also had to share the catwalk with Matt LeBlanc and Chris Rock.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRNb3Upu64A]

Alanis Morissette, “You Oughta Know”; Natalie Maines, “Goodbye Earl” in Los Angeles (Night Three)

Taylor Swift

Night three in Los Angeles found Swift paying tribute to two Nineties heroes, the Dixie Chicks and Alanis Morissette. First, Swift showed she hadn't lost her country twang, stringing out and punching up her drawl alongside Natalie Maines on the Dixie Chicks' boot-stomping "Goodbye Earl." Later, Swift and Morissette scorched the stadium — and exes everywhere — with a devastating performance of the latter's breakup anthem "You Oughta Know."

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J47TiDvxnTg]

Noted Swiftie Ellen DeGeneres closed out the proceedings in characteristically ridiculous fashion, donning a sparkling silver jumpsuit to match Swift's shimmering dress as they walked the catwalk together on "Style."

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpjxAPHoW8o]

Beck and St. Vincent, “Dreams”; John Legend, “All of Me” in Los Angeles (Night Four)

Taylor Swift

Swift cobbled together a delightfully unique collaboration for her fourth night at Staples, welcoming Beck and St. Vincent for a performance of the former's recent single, "Dreams." The driving pop-rock cut marks a significant turn from Beck's mellow Morning Phase  LP, but the musician relished sharing stadium spotlight with Swift as St. Vincent slashed away at the song's crunchy, funked-out guitar riffs. Later, Swift slowed things down with John Legend, who commandeered the pop star's piano and led the way during a stunning duet on his tear-jerking power ballad "All of Me."

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3D5NGDW4lQ]

Selena Gomez, “Good For You”; Justin Timberlake, “Mirrors”; Phoebe Buffay, “Smelly Cat” in Los Angeles (Night Five)

Taylor Swift

The final night of Swift's Los Angeles stand belonged to a little-known coffeeshop singer-songwriter: Phoebe Buffay. Or rather, Lisa Kudrow, who reprised her Friends  role for a performance of Buffay's beloved Central Perk smash, "Smelly Cat."

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4gIyPCp9H0]

The night also featured two slightly more well-known musicians: Selena Gomez, who stopped by for a rousing rendition of her tortured slow jam "Good for You," and Justin Timberlake, who took the stage for his devotional paean "Mirrors."

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlVVCYOqw48]

Omi, “Cheerleader”; Avril Lavigne, “Complicated” in San Diego

Taylor Swift

Swift did not slow down after her five-night L.A. takeover. Three days after her final Staples Center gig, and a few hours south on Interstate 5 in San Diego, she brought out Omi for another summer 2015 anthem, "Cheerleader." Swift also invited Avril Lavigne up for a performance of her 2002 breakout hit "Complicated," a still perfectly pained jam that proves the cup of teen angst will never run dry.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YtQZh9Ps8A]

Wiz Khalifa, “See You Again” in Houston

Taylor Swift

The 1989 tour settled into its fourth month, and the final weeks of summer, in Houston. Swift once again surprised her fans with another recent ubiquitous hit, calling to the stage Wiz Khalifa, who helmed his  Furious 7 hip-hop power ballad, "See You Again." Swift dutifully stood in for the song's co-writer, Charlie Puth, belting the aching, striving chorus he sings on record.

The Band Perry, “If I Die Young” in Indianapolis

Taylor Swift

Swift offered another nod to her roots in Indianapolis, strapping on a sparkling acoustic guitar and joining the Band Perry for a rousing rendition of their hit "If I Die Young." The song's delicate instrumentals and musings might seem out of place for a massive pop production like the 1989 tour, but Swift and the Band Perry deftly reconstructed the track as a stadium-sized tearjerker.

Echosmith, “Cool Kids” in Columbus, OH

Taylor Swift

Echosmith singer Sydney Sierota earned the unique distinction of being the only performer to take the stage twice, in two different cities on the  1989 tour (save Uzo Aduba, who performed one night, and strutted the stage during "Style" the other). Sierota re-teamed with Swift in Columbus, Ohio, several months after her initial cameo in Philadelphia, delivering another infectious rendition of Echosmith's breakout hit, "Cool Kids."

Dierks Bentley, “Every Mile a Memory” in Kansas City, MO

Taylor Swift

Swift kept the country vibes going in Kansas City, welcoming Dierks Bentley to the 1989  party to breeze through his 2006 hit "Every Mile a Memory." Bentley and Swift traded lines and coalesced for harmonies, switching up the lyrics — "Red sun down, over a Kansas City sky," Swift bellowed — for some perfectly acceptable pandering to the hometown crowd.

Steven Tyler, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”; Kelsea Ballerini, “Love Me Like You Mean It”; Alison Krauss, “When You Say Nothing at All” in Nashville (Night One)

Taylor Swift

With country clearly on her mind, Swift was did not disappoint the Music City crowd at her highly anticipated homecoming concerts in Nashville. On night one, Swift proved she's still tapped into the country world with a rousing duet on "Love Me Like You Mean It" with rising singer Kelsea Ballerini. But she also paid tribute to  vaunted veteran Alison Krauss  with a performance of the musician's 2002 track "When You Say Nothing at All." For good measure, Swift also welcomed recent Nashville transplant Steven Tyler, who helped her belt Aerosmith's endlessly eye-watering Armageddon  anthem, "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing."

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0xHaJICsDw]

Mick Jagger, “Satisfaction”; Leona Lewis, “Bleeding Love” in Nashville (Night Two)

Taylor Swift

Swift switched musical directions during her second night in Nashville, but her guests were far from disappointing. The star first welcomed Leona Lewis for a performance of Lewis' devastating 2007 ballad "Bleeding Love." Then Swift served up one of her biggest surprises of the 1989 tour so far: Mick Jagger, who peacocked on stage for "Satisfaction" — much to the delight of one grandma in particular .

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq0fgvavAuA]

Nelly, “The Fix” and “Hot in Herre” in St. Louis

Taylor Swift

Hometown hero Nelly served up a double shot during his appearance in St. Louis , first pairing with Swift for a duet of his sultry, Marvin Gaye–sampling new single, "The Fix." But the house truly came down during "Hot in Herre," which featured an appearance from Haim, who closed out their run as  1989  tour openers that night. While Nelly breezed through the 2002 hit, the sister act and Swift dished out the indelible hook and some expertly choreographed dance moves.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ-JMWwAZS8]

Keith Urban, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” and “Somebody Like You” in Toronto (Night One)

Taylor Swift

Keith Urban joined Swift at her first show in Toronto, proving country that clicks both Down Under and up in the Great White North. The pair teamed up for two performances, first kicking out Urban's latest single, "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16," which they followed with the musician's 2002 Number One "Somebody Like You."

Charli XCX, “Boom Clap” in Toronto (Night Two)

Taylor Swift

Despite canceling some tour dates this summer so she could focus on new music, Charli XCX gladly hopped back onstage with Swift at her second concert in Toronto. The pair took a shot at pure pop perfection and easily hit the mark with a bombastic rendition of XCX's 2014 smash "Boom Clap."

Ellie Goulding, “Love Me Like You Do” in Arlington, TX

Taylor Swift

Swift has enlisted Ellie Goulding   to surprise her audiences on previous tours, so it's no surprise that the British singer eventually took the stage when her path crossed with the 1989 tour. The pair tackled "Love Me Like You Do," Goulding's summer hit from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack , belting its indelible, amorous hook over a chorus of bombastic synths.

Miranda Lambert, “Little Red Wagon” in Greensboro, NC

Taylor Swift

Swift delivered another country hit in the midst of her pop bonanza, welcoming bona fide badass Miranda Lambert to the stage to perform her killer Platinum  single "Little Red Wagon." Swift looked happy to let Lambert take lead on the fierce track. She jumped in with some of her own backyard swagger but primarily sat back and marveled as one of country's contemporary masters did what she does best.

Tove Lo, “Talking Body” in Atlanta

Taylor Swift

Swift is well aware of the unique knack Swedes have for making killer pop, having worked extensively in recent years with Stockholm-based mastermind Max Martin. In Atlanta, Swift welcomed another Swedish star in her own right , burgeoning synth-pop singer-songwriter Tove Lo, who had the crowd howling with a performance of her sensual, slow-burning "Talking Body."

Pitbull, “Give Me Everything”; Ricky Martin, “Livin’ La Vida Loca” in Miami

Taylor Swift

Swift took her talents to South Beach for the penultimate show of her North American trek, doing everything to delight the hometown crowd short of bringing out Will Smith for "Miami." First, NBA star Dwyane Wade presented Swift  with her own Miami Heat jersey — number 13, of course — and soon after, the pop star was joined by Miami native Pitbull for a performance of "Give Me Everything." Saving the best for last, Swift welcomed Ricky Martin, who came out to a frenzied crowd and the still-transcendent opening horn riff of his 1999 hit "Livin' La Vida Loca."

The jewelry seemed to feature the Kobe Bryant quote, "Bet on yourself."

Vanessa Bryant re-shared a post about the connection, writing over it, “We love you Taylor.”

According to the brand, the necklace is from a Zoë Chicco capsule collection with the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation, which was created in memory of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi.

Taylor Swift's necklace had a sweet reference to Kobe Bryant.

Swift and Kobe Bryant might be an unlikely friend pairing, but they knew each other for years before his tragic death in 2020 . Ever since then, Swift has maintained a bond with his family.

Here's a timeline of their touching friendship and some of the sweetest moments the singer has shared with the Bryant family.

When Swift thanked Kobe Bryant via Twitter, a platform now known as X, the pro shared the following response: "My pleasure @taylorswift13 Keep breaking records and changing lives."

During the interview, the basketball pro also applauded Swift for being a kind person.

"She’s a sweet kid. I mean, she was a sweetheart to my girls before she even blew up and became Taylor Swift. So that's why I'll always, if she needs anything from me, I'm always there," he said.

Taylor Swift shares cute concert moment with Kobe Bryant's daughter

At the latest stop on her Eras Tour, the pop star gifted her "22" hat to young Bianka Bryant.

kobe bryant 1989 tour

Eight years after Taylor Swift shared a cute moment on stage with Kobe Bryant , the pop icon gave a gift to the late basketball star's daughter.

Per tradition on the Eras Tour, when Swift performs her song "22," she then gives a hat emblazoned with "22" to one lucky audience member. During her Thursday night show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., Swift chose Bianka Bryant to receive the hat.

"We love you @taylorswift," proud mother Vanessa Bryant wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Swift embracing Bianka.

After the show, Vanessa posted another photo of a Bianka smiling, captioned "my happy girl. Thank you @taylorswift! We lysm!!"

Before the concert began, Vanessa expressed her family's excitement via Instagram Story updates . One showed a jean jacket emblazoned with a photo of Swift and Kobe on stage together in 2015 under the word "Swiftie." Another patch on the jacket were the words "Say You'll Remember Me," a quote from Swift's song "Wildest Dreams" — and clearly a reference to Kobe and daughter Gianna, who died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26, 2020 .

On Aug. 21, 2015, Kobe joined Swift on stage at the Staples Center (now the Crypto.com Arena) during her 1989 tour and surprised her with a banner celebrating her record-setting 16 sold-out shows at the arena that is home to the Los Angeles Lakers.

When Kobe and Gianna died so tragically, Swift was one of many who tweeted out condolences.

"My heart is in pieces hearing the news of this unimaginable tragedy," Swift tweeted at the time. "I can't fathom what the families are going through. Kobe meant so much to me and to us all. Sending my prayers, love, and endless condolences to Vanessa and the family and anyone who lost someone on that flight."

Taylor Swift gives Kobe Bryant's daughter 'Folklore' cardigan

2019 American Music Awards - Roaming Show And Backstage

Taylor Swift gave Kobe Bryant's oldest daughter, Natalia, a replica of the cardigan she wore in a music video from her latest album, "Folklore."

"Thank you SO much @taylorswift," Bryant, 17, wrote on her Instagram story Saturday. "I am OBSESSED with ‘folklore’!!!"

Taylor Swift's Folklore was released on Friday.

Swift has been sending sweaters to celebrities like Jonathan Van Ness and Jennifer Hudson to promote "Folklore," which was released Friday and sold more than 1.3 million copies across the world over the course of 24 hours, according to Variety . She is also selling the cream cable-knit sweater, which features gray stars on the elbows, on her website for $49, along with digital copies of the album and other merchandise. She wears the sweater in the music video for her song "Cardigan."

“Thank You Taylor Swift #Cardigan,” Natalia’s mom, Vanessa Bryant , wrote on Instagram Saturday, alongside a picture of her daughter smiling while holding up the sweater.

The Bryant family have been Swift fans for years. Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash with his daughter, Gianna, in January, joined Swift onstage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles during her “1989” tour in 2015 and in 2018, the Bryant family met the artist backstage at a Pasadena show during her “Reputation” tour.

Taylor Swift Wears Kobe Bryant Quote Necklace for Recording Studio Visit: See the Inspirational Message

The singer stepped out in a very sentimental piece of jewelry honoring the late sports icon

North Woods/BACKGRID

Taylor Swift just stepped out in a very sentimental piece of jewelry for her latest trip to the recording studio.

The "Lavender Haze" singer, 34, accessorized her casual athleisure look with a necklace featuring a quote from the late sports icon Kobe Bryant , a piece from his wife Vanessa Bryant 's 2022 capsule jewelry collection Mambacita x ZC jewelry, which was a collaboration with L.A.-based jewelry company ZoĂ« Chicco Fine Jewelry.

Swift's necklace featured a gold circular pendant engraved with the words "Bet on yourself" and Kobe's full name underneath the quote. The gold pendant was encircled with diamonds making the motivational quote stand out even more.

DAMEBK/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images

Although the pendant is no longer available online because Vanessa's collection was only available to the public for a month following its release, the Men's Adidas Graphics Animal Polar Fleece Jacket that Swift also wore on Thursday retails for $120 online.

"The limited capsule will be available for one month and 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Mamba and Mambacita Foundation, dedicated to creating positive impact for underserved athletes and boys and girls in sports," Vanessa, 41, wrote over an image she used to announce the collection on Instagram in 2022 , thanking her followers for supporting the endeavor.

Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. In the announcement, Vanessa is wearing another gold pendant necklace featuring her late husband's quote, "Dedication makes dreams come true."

Swift's selection of jewelry on Thursday is just one of many ways she's chosen to remember her friend Kobe — who made an appearance on stage at The Staples Center in Los Angeles in 2015 during her 1989 World Tour — and his daughter Gianna Maria-Onore since their deaths in 2020 at the ages of 41 and 13.

Christopher Polk/Getty Images

The pop star memorably took time out of her performance of "22" during an Eras tour stop at SoFi Stadium in L.A. in August to hug Vanessa and Kobe's daughter Bianka , 7, who was at the show with her mom and sister   Natalia Bryant , who turns 20 next week.

"We love you @taylorswift ❀," Vanessa captioned a photo of the moment on Instagram . The couple's youngest daughter, Capri Kobe , 4, didn't attend the concert.

Taylor Swift shared a sweet moment with Bianka Bryant while performing on Thursday.

During the Eras Tour, while singing the hit single "22," it has become a tradition for Swift to make her way to the end of the runway and give her black bowler hat to a lucky fan.

When Swift kicked off a six-show run at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, she gave her hat to Bianka , the second-youngest daughter of Vanessa and Kobe Bryant.

Swift also took a moment to hug the 6-year-old before resuming the song. Vanessa shared a photo of their embrace on Instagram, writing in the caption, "We love you @taylorswift."

Swift has a history with the Bryant family. Back in 2015, she shared the stage with Kobe during the 1989 Tour .

Kobe made a surprise appearance at LA's Staples Center (now known as Crypto.com Arena ) to present Swift with a championship banner, celebrating her 16 sold-out shows at the venue. Kobe himself called the arena home when he dominated as a shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers.

"I think it's important to listen to people who do great things," he said of Swift during a 2019 appearance on "The Jordan Harbinger Show."  "Taylor's been at the top of the game for a very, very long time."

The NBA star died in 2020 in a helicopter crash that also killed his 13-year-old daughter, Gigi, and seven other people.

In his final sit-down interview with LA Times sports columnist Arash Markazi, Kobe gushed about Gigi, Bianka (whom he called B.B.), and his two other daughters, Natalia (20), and Capri (3). Vanessa has called him the "MVP of girl dads."

While attending the Eras Tour, Vanessa wore a bedazzled jacket featuring a photo of Swift and Kobe onstage together.

Comparing Luka Doncic, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, And Kobe Bryant During Their First 5 Seasons

I n recent weeks, Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd made some controversial comments when asked about star point guard Luka Doncic. Kidd boldly claimed that Doncic was already on the same level as NBA legends such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant . As outlandish as this seems from Kidd, we decided to compare these four superstars through their first five seasons in the NBA. Seeing as Doncic has yet to complete his sixth season, it is only fair to the validity of the comparison to use every player’s first five seasons.

Using every metric from advanced stats to individual awards to overall playoff success on the team level, we can put this conversation to rest swiftly and efficiently, decisively concluding which one of these NBA stars had the greatest start to their career.

1. Michael Jordan - 32.6 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 5.9 APG, 2.8 SPG, 1.2 BPG (4 Points)

2. Luka Doncic - 27.6 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 8.0 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.4 BPG (3 Points)

3. LeBron James - 27.3 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 6.6 APG, 1.8 SPG, 0.8 BPG (2 Points)

4. Kobe Bryant - 18.5 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 3.4 APG, 1.2 SPG, 0.7 BPG (1 Point)

To kick things off, the category of best stats is a three-man race for the top spot. Coming out on top is Michael Jordan who is the only player to average over 30.0 points per game in his first five seasons while also recording more steals and blocks than anyone else on this list. His 32.6 points per game came on 51.3% shooting from the field and three straight seasons of over 30.0 points per game and 2.5 SPG from 1987 through 1989.

Luka Doncic and LeBron James are in a close race for second place behind Jordan. Ultimately, Doncic gets the selection for his slightly superior scoring, rebounding, and playmaking numbers. Efficiency-wise, their numbers are almost identical with James shooting 46.7$ from the floor and 32.4% from three while Doncic shoots 26.6% overall and 33.8% from three in their first five seasons.

Rounding out the best stats category is Kobe Bryant . Of course, Bryant had to contend with Del Harris’ decision to play him off the bench for the first few seasons of his career but once he hit his stride, the Lakers became unstoppable but it was still not enough to improve his standing here.

2. Playoff Success In First 5 Years

*Every round advancement is worth 1 point

1. Kobe Bryant - 2 NBA Finals, 1 Conference Finals, 2 Semifinals (4 Points)

T2. LeBron James - 1 NBA Finals, 2 Semifinals (3 Points)

T2. Michael Jordan - 1 Conference Finals, 1 Semifinals, 3 First Rounds (3 Points)

4. Luka Doncic - 1 Conference Finals, 2 First Rounds (1 Point)

In the category of overall playoff success, Kobe Bryant completely flips the script and takes home first-place points thanks to multiple trips to the NBA Finals in 2000 and 2001 as well as a Conference Finals appearance and two trips to the second round. The only other player in this comparison to earn a trip to the NBA Finals in their first five seasons is LeBron James who advanced to the Finals in 2007 with Cleveland. James’ two other trips to the second round allotted him a tie for second with Michael Jordan.

Jordan could not get over the hump in his first five seasons but would advance to a Conference Finals in 1989 as well as the second round one time and the first round three times. Only Jordan and Bryant reached the playoffs every year in their first five seasons. Bringing up the rear in regards to overall playoff success is Luka Doncic. In his first five seasons, Doncic was able to lead the Mavericks to one Western Conference Finals in 2022 and two other first-round exits in 2020 and 2021.

NBA Championships And Finals Appearances

1. Kobe Bryant - 2 NBA Championships, 2 Finals Appearances (4 Points)

2. LeBron James - 0 NBA Championships, 1 Finals Appearance (3 Points)

T3. Michael Jordan - 0 NBA Championships, 0 Finals Appearances (0 Points)

T3. Luka Doncic - 0 NBA Championships, 0 Finals Appearances

Of the four stars in today’s comparison, only Kobe Bryant and LeBron James helped their teams advance to the NBA Finals at least once in their first five seasons. Of course, by Bryant’s fourth season, the Lakers were a powerhouse led by Shaquille O’Neal. Bryant would help lead the Lakers to back-to-back NBA Finals appearances and championships in 2000 and 2001 although O’Neal was the clear best player on the floor. Bryant would add a third title in six seasons in 2002 when the Lakers three-peated as champions.

As the only other player to lead his team to an NBA Finals on this list, James collects three points for the category. In 2007, his fourth season, LeBron led a lackluster Cavaliers team to the NBA finals against the San Antonio Spurs. Although they were swept in four games, James had done something special by earning the franchise their first NBA Finals appearance ever.

Michael Jordan and Luka Doncic dealt with similar situations in their first five seasons with the Bulls and Mavericks respectively. It took years of individual greatness surrounded by subpar roster construction and needed time to find and develop a core around their stars. Both Doncic and Jordan were able to advance to one Conference Finals during their first five seasons but both fell short of the eventual NBA champions.

Major Awards

1. Michael Jordan - 8 Major Awards - 1x MVP, 1x Defensive Player Of The Year, 1x Rookie Of The Year, 1x All-Star Game MVP, 3x Scoring Champ, 1x Steals Champ (4 Points)

2. LeBron James - 4 Major Awards - 1x Rookie Of The Year, 2x All-Star Game MVP, 1x Scoring Champ (3 Points)

3. Luka Doncic - 1 Major Award - 1x Rookie Of The Year (2 Points)

4. Kobe Bryant - 0 Major Awards (0 Points)

Michael Jordan runs away with the most major categories as the most individually decorated player of the four. Jordan is the only player in today’s comparison to win MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, multiple scoring titles, and a steals title in his first five seasons. Jordan won his first three career scoring titles in a string of seven straight from 1987 through 1993 and also collected MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season in 1988.

LeBron James takes home second-place points with the four major awards he took home in his first five seasons. James won a close Rookie of the Year race with Carmelo Anthony in 2003-04 and also took home All-Star Game MVP awards in 2006 and 2008. James added his first and only career scoring title in 2008 as well with 30.0 points per game.

Luka Doncic and Kobe Bryant bring up the rear in this category with one major award won between them. That came courtesy of Luka Doncic who was the runaway Rookie of the Year in 2019, averaging 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. Bryant’s greatest individual honors did not come until much later in his career.

Most All-NBA Team Selections

T1. Michael Jordan - 4 All-NBA Team Selections (4 Points)

T1. LeBron James - 4 All-NBA Team Selections (4 Points)

T1. Luka Doncic - 4 All-NBA Team Selections (4 Points)

4. Kobe Bryant - 3 All-NBA Team Selections (1 Point)

Michael Jordan, Luka Doncic, and LeBron James all take home first-place points for their four All-NBA Team selections in their first five seasons. Of these three players, Doncic is the only player to have all four of his selections come by way of the First Team while Jordan had three First Teams selections and James had two.

Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant fell just short of claiming first-place points with three All-NBA team selections in his first five seasons. For Kobe, two of his selections would come to the Second Team and one of them would be to the Third Team.

Most All-Defensive Team Selections

T1. Michael Jordan - 2 All-Defensive Team Selections (4 Points)

T1. Kobe Bryant - 2 All-Defensive Team Selections (4 Points)

T3. Luka Doncic - 0 All-Defensive Team Selections (0 Points)

T3. LeBron James - 0 All-Defensive Team Selections (0 Points)

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant hold the distinct honor of being the only players in today’s comparison to be honored for their defensive efforts in their first five seasons. Michael Jordan was the superior defender with two All-Defensive First Team selections and a Defensive Player of the Year award in 1988. Bryant would earn one First Team selection and one Second Team selection in his first five seasons and would go on to earn 12 in his career, an NBA record by a guard.

As for LeBron James and Luka Doncic, they would each put up a goose egg on the defensive front in their first five seasons. James would hit his stride as a defender, earning six All-Defensive Team selections in his career. Doncic still has plenty of room to improve as a defender, and most would say defense is his biggest weakness on the court. Chances are slim that we ever see Doncic on an All-Defensive Team in his career.

Most All-Star Selections

1. Michael Jordan - 5 All-Star Selections (4 Points)

T2. Luka Doncic - 4 All-Star Selections (3 Points)

T2. LeBron James - 4 All-Star Selections (3 Points)

4. Kobe Bryant - 3 All-Star Selections (1 Point)

Another category, another claim to first-place point for one Michael Jordan. Of our four competitors here today, Jordan is the only player to have been selected as an All-Star in each of his first five seasons. Even in the season in which he broke his foot in 1986, he was still voted in as an All-Star.

Luka Doncic and LeBron James each earned four All-Star selections in their first five seasons, earning them three points apiece for this category. Doncic and James’ only non-All-Star seasons came during their rookie years and each has been an All-Star every season since. Lebron James leads the way with 20 selections while Doncic is a quarter of the way there with five.

Kobe Bryant missed out on two All-Star selections in his first five years, leaving him with one point to take home in this category. Bryant was named the NBA’s youngest All-Star at 19 in 1997-98 but missed out on selections in 1996 and 1999.

1. Michael Jordan - 73.4 Win Shares (4 Points)

2. LeBron James - 64.6 Win Shares (3 Points)

3. Luka Doncic - 39.2 Win Shares (2 Points)

4. Kobe Bryant - 35.2 Win Shares (1 Point)

No two players impacted winning more over their first five seasons in the NBA than Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Jordan’s 73.4 win shares earn him yet another four points in this comparison. Jordan led the NBA in win shares three times in his first five years with four seasons accumulating 14.0 or more total win shares. James would not lead the NBA in win shares at all in his first five seasons but did record four seasons with at least 13.5 to his name.

Luka Doncic and Kobe Bryant find themselves in a completely different conversation compared to James and Jordan. Doncic and Bryant failed to reach 40.0 win shares in their first five seasons with Doncic just edging out Bryant by 4.0. Doncic was unable to record a season with at least 10.0 win shares in his first five seasons while Bryant had two in 2000 and 2001.

1. Michael Jordan - 29.6 PER (4 Points)

T2. LeBron James - 25.2 PER (3 Points)

T2. Luka Doncic - 25.2 PER (3 Points)

4. Kobe Bryant - 20.5 PER (1 Point)

The final category in this comparison before we reach a final tally is Player Efficiency Rating, or PER for short. Using almost every metric there is on the court, PER measures a player’s efficiency including shooting, turnovers, getting to the free throw line, and more. With this criteria, Michael Jordan once again annihilates the competition and takes home first-place points with a PER of 29.6.

Luka Doncic and Lebron James miraculously tied for three second-place points each with an identical 25.2 PER in their first five seasons. LeBron James’ PER is quite low for his first five seasons compared to his stretch from 2008 through 2013 when he led the NBA every year with a rating of 27.0 or higher. As for Doncic, he has never led the NBA in PER but has recorded a rating of 25.0 or higher every season since 2020.

Who Was The Greater Player In Their First Five Seasons?

1. Michael Jordan - 31 Points (7 Categories Won)

2. LeBron James - 24 Points (1 Category Won)

T3. Luka Doncic - 18 Points (1 Category Won)

T3. Kobe Bryant - 18 Points (1 Category Won)

The results of today’s comparison have answered the initial question we set out to at the beginning of this comparison. Does Luka Doncic belong in the conversation with Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant already? As we can see from the results, while Doncic may not be greater than Jordan or James in his first five seasons, he is right there on par with Bryant and not far behind the two GOATs of the sport.

Of course, Jordan's first five seasons belong in The Louvre for how masterful they were on an individual level. Falling short of the Gold Standard should bring no shame to Doncic’s game. LeBron also entered the NBA on a different planet, far more advanced than most seasoned veterans at the time let alone a kid straight out of high school.

While the initial thought of a young player in today’s game being compared to these three legends so early into his career is crazy to think about, when you dive into the totality of the argument, Jason Kidd absolutely has an argument for his claim to be factual.
