Knagla Fort, Manipur

The Kangla fort or Kangla palace is situated in the capital of Manipur, namely Imphal. Earlier the fort was located on both sides of the Imphal river bank, western and eastern sides but now it remains only on the west side.

The name Kangla means dry land in the language of Manipuri or Meetei. Earlier in ancient times, Kangla was the capital of Manipur.

3. Shaheed Minar

The temple is situated on the bank of the Imphal river. King Garib Niwaj founded the temple in the year 1725 AD. When the temple’s construction started, it was manufactured with brick, but after some time, the temple’s entire building was done with cement coating.

On the temple’s front side, a Mandapa had also been constructed, which helped shadow the temple structure. It was the only temple that was built during the rule of king Garib Niwaj.
